I do wish the handle could be a bit wider and thicker, so it would be much easier to hold when I need to pour things out.Although the handle stays cool, the lid gets hot quicklier than I expected. Also the pan came with very heavy machinery grease smell.I had to clean it really well before the first use.

Lodge Pro-Logic P12S3 Pre-Seasoned Skillet, 12-inch
A few things I'm going to keep in mind if I decide to replace this skillet include the size the 12' measurement refers to the outside diameter. When you take into account the sloped sides, the flat cooking surface is more like 8.5 8.75 inches.A friend has a "Wagner 1891 original" in a 10.5 inch and the cooking surface is the same, give or take a quarter inch. The sloped sides may also make it easier to tip food out of the skillet or maneuver a spatula, but if you're interested in this feature for tossing and flipping food then you need to be a strong person with strong wrists, or get ready to have both hands on the handle (or handles) this skillet is pretty heavy.
I was also expecting the handle to be more ergonomic, but It's broad and flat (about 1.5" wide) which turned out to be a little awkward for me.To hold it comfortably (and I have fairly large hands) I have to place the palm of my hand more fully on the underside of the handle for a more "underhanded" grip.Perhaps it's just me, but that's not usually how I hold a skillet.
The pre-seasoning works well there was a little bit of sticking the first time around, but I was expecting that. All reviews I've read about the best non-stick performance of cast iron say it simply comes from years of use.
If you want sloped side cast iron for tossing and flipping food, I would recommend the Lodge Logic 10" chef's skillet. It's smaller, lighter weight, has a nice curved version of the standard handle, and if you're a stickler for detail, you might enjoy the presence of the pour spouts, which are not on the pro-logic 12".
Experienced Cooks may like or need some of the features of the Pro-Logic, and some might like a collection of different shaped skillets made out of different materials for all sorts of cooking, but I'm just an average guy who liked the idea of buying one skillet which would last the rest of my life.I would recommend a time tested design over the update.
I always heard that if you are serious about beef steak, you cook it on hot cast iron. Well, after getting this pan, I found out this to be true. It's also great for chicken, pork, and lamb but I still prefer a non-stick surface for fish and eggs.
I also love the more contemporary styling. The only problem is the up-turned loop handle breaks off easily. I bought another one for a friend and it snapped off in shipping. I dropped my own (because I didn't use the loop handle) and again it snapped off.
Also...and this is not a criticism, just an observation...if you like traditional skillet cornbread, get the smaller (10 inch is good for this), more classically shaped style. The rounded sides of the pro logic skillet give the bread an odd flying saucer like quality.

This is a great shape for omlettes and frittatas, and is non-stick if you know how to use it. I just figured this out. You need one flat-bottom pan for searing at high heat and another (this one) for delicate, medium-heat foods like eggs and fish. I used to sear in all my cast iron but it would burn off the seasoning oils and my eggs would stick. Get rid off your cancer-causing non-stick pans and try this one. You will not regret it.Read Best Reviews of Lodge Pro-Logic P12S3 Pre-Seasoned Skillet, 12-inch Here
I went to Macy's looking for a cast iron skillet. They just had the small skillets and they weren't pre-seasoned. The clerk recommend that I go to Williams-Sonoma, which was in the mall. Williams-Sonoma had this skillet and it was priced at $24.This is the first time I've seen pre-seasoned cast iron. You can use it right away! I made mac'n'cheese and broiled without having to change pots. My family said that was the best mac'n'cheese I've ever made. This convince me to purchase more Lodge Pre-seasoned pots, pans, muffin cups, etc. Amazon has them priced right and the free s&h makes it more attractive. Happy Cooking!

I had not used a cast iron skillet in many years, and due to not knowing how to care for it properly back then, it became rusty and I gave up on cast iron.BUT, I was re-introduced to cast iron again a few months ago when I bought this skillet. I'm so glad, too: it's absolutely one of the best skillets I've ever had! The pre-seasoning makes it so easy to use and care for, and everything I've cooked in it turns out great. With minimal care, it stays in top condition. I just love it!
Bella Flame 4-piece Cookware Set, 12" and 9.5" Green Ceramic Coated Nonstick Fry Pans w/ Glass Lids
Heavy substantial handles and lids.
Would highly recommend!I don't seek 'green' products, but this one works as advertised! You can fry and egg with no butter or oil and it just slides around in the pan after the white is set. My second time purchasing, so if you are looking at these being your only set of non-stick pans, forget about it. They last a couple years. Read the instructions, they last MUCH longer if you don't take them from frying mode to the faucet! The quick 'cool down' of that step shortens their life.
Calphalon Unison Nonstick Saute Pans
This year, my ten-year-old nonstick saute bit the dust.I noted the coating starting to bubble a bit, and I wasn't willing to risk using it any longer.I began my search for a replacement and was led to the Calphalon Unison line. After much research and hemming and hawing, I decided to go with the reasonably-priced 3-qt. saute the exact size match to my old pan would have been the 4-qt, but I wasn't quite ready to shell out over $200 for a pan yet untried. Now, of course, I wish I had sprung for the slightly larger size.
In short, not only has this pan replaced my trashed nonstick, I have no problem using it in place of my traditional tri-ply stainless much of the time.
It browns meats, but releases foods (and mess!) easily. It goes in the oven.It goes in the dishwasher. The handle is sturdy. There's a helper handle (one reason I vetoed a similar pan during my search) for when you need the extra stability. For dinner tonight, I seared a pork tenderloin on all sides and then put it in the oven to finish. After a quick rinse, the pan went into the dishwasher. Is it any wonder this is my new favorite pan?I am upgrading my original Caphalon to the Unison line.It is everything that the original was and is non-stick and can go in the dishwasher.A great investment.

I got the covered 3 qt SEAR pan just before xmas.I have all clad, seasoned cast iron, grill pans etc. This one leaves them all in the dust.I made steaks with a beautiful CRUST--not just browned, and the insides were beautiful tender med. rare, juicy and lovely pan sauce.I did rub a bit of olive oil on the one side of steak to get them going. (Would have been no problem to cook further but we like med. rare).I did not put the pan in the dishwasher because I use Finish detergent with bleach and instructions say don't use bleach additive detergent. But it cleans up so effortlessly it would be a waste to dishwasher it.I have browned meatballs in it, beautiful browning, nice fond in pan not burnt like in my all-clad stainless, again it just about cleans on its own.Browned pork ribs and chicken last couple of nights--perfect!The only thing I would change is to get a larger size---which I will do very soon!Costly, but worth every penny to me.Read Best Reviews of Calphalon Unison Nonstick Saute Pans Here
Great item, does what it says, but don't buy from Amazon thinking you're getting a deal.Amazon advertises this product as listing for $200, and claims to be selling it for 50% off, but, actually they are selling it at the MSRP price of $99.99.
I have used Calphalon Nonstick cookware for years, but have mixed up my original set with different lines because I have found that several pan surfaces have peeled quite a bit or have deep scratches. I had to return a 12" skillet twice before (in quick succession) due to bad peeling.Mind you, I only use Calphalon nylon utensils, hand wash and gently handle them and am always mindful of the heat while cooking. So, when I saw the Unison line, I was really encouraged by all the positive reviews all 5 stars here! I bought the 3-qt saute pan today (to replace an older Professional Nonstick II one because it was peeling badly in the center). The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box was that my glass lid had a short, deep scratch. I thought about going back to the store to replace the lid since I paid over $100 with tax for this pan. But then I wondered if I was being silly, it was about half an inch long...I guess I could live with it, I thought. But it nagged at me the rest of the evening. I tried to put it out of my mind once I started to cook and was very excited to use this pan for the first time. I browned hamburger meat for tacos following all the directions before use, including wiping the pan first with a paper towel soaked with olive oil. The food turned out great. Later, after the pan had fully cooled, I wiped it out with a paper towel and then gently washed it with warm, soapy water. As I was drying the pan, I couldn't believe my eyes. Not only were there scratch marks on the surface, but there was a small chip already forming. I was horrified and thought maybe it was a water mark. So, I wiped the spot with my cloth, only to make the peeling grow a bit more. UNBELIEVABLE. Needless to say, I'm returning this pan tomorrow for a full refund. I recently purchased the 12" Unison Slide omelette pan with lid, but have yet to use it. I wonder if I should even bother now...maybe just bring it back to the store tomorrow, too. Ugh. Buyer beware.

Strauss Green Cuisine 8 Inch Skillet with Non Stick Ceramic Coating
Almost nothing sticks to it. Every now and then, if I cook the heck out of bacon or a burger, a little bit of something will require a teeny bit of rubbing to loosen it, but that's about it; for the most part, wipe it with a paper towel and it will look like it just came out of the dishwasher. I usually wash it by hand; takes two seconds. I have put it into the dishwasher, and have noticed no ill effects, but I don't know if that would take a toll over time.
I have tried many non-stick Teflon pans. (I won't use Teflon except in an "emergency.") This is the first and only one that is worth the moniker "non-stick," that wears well, cleans easily, and seems to have no real vices. The only negative I have found is that the handles sometimes need tightening. (I intend to replace the screw that holds the handle in place with an allen head so I can tighten it down properly. If it works, I will edit this review to include the size screw and where to get it. Hopefully the manufacturer will do it before me.) The other side of that coin is that, because of the way the handle attaches, the inside of the pan is perfectly smooth, with no protruding rivets or screw heads. In my opinion, this pan deserves to become the standard by which other non-stick pans are judged.
MyCuisina is OK as far as delivery and their customer service, but their packaging is, or at least used to be, pretty amateur. Every pan I have received has nonetheless been in fine shape, but I would not be the least bit surprised if the problem the other reviewer experienced is a result of MyCuisina's poor packaging.
In short, if you're looking for a good non-stick pan that is not Teflon, in my opinion, this is the one you want.I bought this because I own the wok version of this pan and love it.The wok has performed well for several months without losing its nonstick qualities, however this pan was only nonstick for about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks it is sticking like a cheap regular pan and I literally have to scrub food off of it.I am so disappointed.I don't understand the inconsistency in quality. This is definitely going back.

For the amount I paid I expected the ceramic coating to be more substantial. However, after looking at the skillet and feeling the coating it is extremly thin. This is not a $43 skillet but a $15 dollar one.I'm returning mine to Amazon for a refund.I will try the Cuisinart Green Gourmet skillet.Read Best Reviews of Strauss Green Cuisine 8 Inch Skillet with Non Stick Ceramic Coating Here
Lodge Logic LPP3 Square Ribbed Panini Press, 8.25-inch
The pan and press are typical cast iron they are heavy, require some home seasoning, and need a little extra care in cleaning. But it's not all inconvenience and bother my version of "seasoning" is to brush it down with bacon drippings I save in my refrigerator specifically for new cast iron.Just heat the pan over low heat, lightly brush with shortening or drippings, and apply food (the colder the food, the more likely it will stick). To clean, use a stiff brush after soaking a few minutes I have a variety of toothbrush-sized implements for the grill pan that are really effective.Beyond that modest behavior modification, the benefits will far outweigh and outlast any non-stick competition.
I have a gas cooktop and a good cast-iron griddle with both flat and ribbed sides. I used this press to make perfect panini the first time. It has good weight to press the panini down onto the grill. The pre-seasoned cast-iron was easy to clean. Since it is not heated, the ribs it has are not used and really make no sense; a flat, heavy press would work just as well. You do have to flip over the panini to cook them to get the desired grill marks on both sides unlike using an electric panini press which has heated upper and lower sides so the panini can be cooked without flipping.
Update, 2011 Feb 24: Several commenters wrote and explained that this press is supposed to be pre-heated before you use it so both the top and bottom of the panino (singular of panini) are cooked at the same time. You can pre-heat this press right over the gas flame, on the electric element, or less effectively in the pan before cooking. One commenter said this press is designed for this and Lodge Logic should explain this in their advertising. I want to thank these commenters for explaining this.

I really like this press because it hardly takes up any space, unlike the electric models, and the results are excellent. Also like most (all?) Lodge Logic pans this is made in the USA.What I do is this: I heat this press up on a separate burner from my Lodge Logic L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan so they are about the same temp (350 degrees). I use an IR thermometer like this one Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer to determine how hot each piece is and adjust the burners but there are probably other ways to do it. 350 is hot enough to do a decent job grilling but not so hot the seasoning on the pan starts to smoke (that seems to start to happen at around 400 degrees). You could also just heat the press in the pan but the press will not be nearly as hot as the pan in that case so it won't get grilled evenly on both sides. Once to 350 I press the sandwich for about 90 seconds which seems to be a good starting place. Some might like them grilled longer. I do not flip them. I use cooking spray after every use while the pan is still hot which seems to help with the seasoning. I don't have any sticking problems, even when cheese squeezes out.

If you want to make great paninis then buy this press & a Lodge cast iron pan. I use this press daily to reheat sandwiches, and it's excellent. It's made in USA, has an even weight to it, & caring for it is simple. Be sure to read & follow the usage instructions, & you'll have a great tool to use for making awesome sandwiches. I love what it does with grilled cheese. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews because it was worth the money.

I've had this press for a few months now and have gotten a lot of use out of it. I use mine with myLodge Logic LPGI3 Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle. I have a gas stove and let the press heat up over it's own burner while I assemble sandwiches. The handle does get hot but not unmanageable with a good hot pad. Once the sandwiches are assembled, I pop them on the grill pan and add the press. The weight of the press alone is good enough for all but the crustiest bread.
The press is large enough for a good size sandwich but I plan on picking up another so I can make multiple sandwiches at once.
I'd highly recommend this instead of an electric press. You cannot beat the high heat and heat retention of cast iron for a nice crisp sandwich exterior.
Sitram Profiserie 11-Inch Commercial Stainless Steel Fry Pan
Recently we noticed the stainless steel on the bottom was pulling away from the aluminum layer.Since I had just selected and ordered a new Sitram copper bottomed Saute pan for a request from my wife, I decided to email Sitram to ask how to have it repaired, and offered to send a picture. They asked for the picture and I sent it.
The response was that the problem was covered under the limited lifetime warranty. The replacement arrived today.
The original has provided extraordinary, daily service and both my wife and I are extremely pleased. The Sitram response by replacing the original pan was more than expected.
We don't see any reason not to continue supporting Sitram products.I don't see how we could expect more. The products are our favorites, and the backup to the warranty was more than I expected.
Best regards,
Tom C

Revere Copperclad Bottom 1-Quart Covered Saucepan
Our older Revereware pans are great, and part of the reason they're great is the really heavy bottom, which distributes heat evenly and extends the life of the pan.
This pan has a nice copper bottom, which is good for heat distribution I guess, but it's disappointingly thin. It's not the quality it used to be, or so it seems to me.

This pan is not good quality. It is much lighter than the olds ones that were made in the USA! This is made in Indo-China and that should explain it all. I have used Revere Ware copper clad pots and Farber aluminum pots for 42 years of marriage and two young girls who were hard on the pots. The Farber aluminum clad pots all buckled from the differential expansion of the aluminum cladding relative to the steal body of the pot. This took many years of use before all the aluminum clads became useless. My Revere Ware copper clad pots are all as good as the day we got them in the 1960s!So two weeks ago I decided to replace the worst of the buckled pots with new Revere Ware copper clad pots. What a mistake that was. Niced and shiny steel pots with a copper cladding for even heating. After a few day I finely used them both, I put two inches of water in the two quart pot place some frozen vegetables in also.Within minutes of heating the pot it suddenly buckled worse than any of my aluminum clad pots and of coarse heating took a long time due to the uneven base of the pot.Unfortunately, I discarded the boxes etc before ever using the pots and now have to determine if Revere will replace. On the bright side my three quart Revere Ware pot has not buckled yet. Here are two observations, the China made pots from Revere are made of thinner copper and steel components and Revere has lost its reputation for producing quality products. It is my fault for not having read the prior reviews before considering purchase of these pots.If Revere is willing to degrade its flagship product of the last century for a little extra profit then how are we to trust any of their products. It is sad to see fine American brands degraded like this.
With the above said, lots of excellent products come from China, so this is not a China versus US made issue, its about what US manufactures are willing to do in order to make a bit more profit by sending proction oversas and reducing quality standards. All my current computers and many other high tech items are made in China and they are excellent, this is about Revere Ware and its loss of quality.Revere 3514027 2-Quart Covered Saucepan

I have a larger RevereWear, copper bottom saucepan/double boiler that I have used for over 30 years and decided that I needed a smaller one, too. It is an excellent product and if I am not "raving" over this one purchase, it's because it's exactly what I expected in looks and function. It did arrive in a timely manner. Presto 07037 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle, Black
Overall, I rate the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle with a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it.If you have a relatively small kitchen, you may have some problems storing it. If this is true, see if you can rearrange things a bit because the time saved by using the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle is well worth it!I bought this griddle because I have a very small stove.I never seen to have enough burners.I only have room for one large fry pan and when you are making eggs and pancakes you have to wait for one to finish before you can cook the other.Breakfast can sometimes take until lunch to make. It's nice too that we can make four grilled cheese sandwiches at once that way the kids eat at the same time.I also like the fact that it has a fat collector that is easy to remove and clean.Since we bought this I have cooked something on it every day.I leave it right on my counter because I use it so much. I would recommend this to everyone.

You would think it would be easy to make a decision about such a mundane item, but when you're faced with dozens of choices and not much time to compare prices, you need to know what's the best deal for your money.I purchased this griddle in May of 2006 and have been VERY satisfied with it. Like other reviewers pointed out, it has a huge cooking surface, the temperature control unit works accurately and it's economical and convenient to use. There is a handy drip pan to catch bacon grease, pancake batter and the like. Oh yes, and it's easy to clean -a big bonus in my book. This is probably the sixth griddle I've owned over the years, but so far, it's the best and is a real bargain for the price. A can't miss item.

I bought this griddle to replace a well-worn older one. This one is great. It's much bigger than most of the ones I've seen, but is not heavy or cumbersome. The handles do stay cool and the temp control is easy and out of the way.We hand wash it and the surface is as good as new after several months of at least weekly (sometimes almost daily) use.We make pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, chicken, steak, and grilled cheese sandwiches on it.I always use a nonstick spray with it, and it is ten seconds with soapy water to clean it.I did put the drip tray in the dishwasher on the bottom shelf and it melted, so DON'T DO THAT! :)Weber 7404 Cast Iron Griddle
This is a very heavy porcelain enameled griddle that is reversible (you can see both sides of it in the product photo).I gave it a very light and fast wash with some dish soap and warm water and then dried it thoroughly.
The first time I used the griddle I gave it a heavy spray of olive oil and let the grill get up to about 400 degrees.I have observed you will get very fast and thorough heat by applying direct burner heat under the griddle as well as turning on a different burner to medium temperature for ambient heat.
Made some fish on this and it came out wonderfully (I used the textured side for the fish and there was no fall apart of the fish as is typical when being cooked directly on the stainless grates on the grill itself).I really look forward to using the smooth side of this for making breakfast items, fajitas and other things that will cook great on the grill.
Clean up is a bit of a headache as you must take the heavy griddle off of the grill, bring it into your kitchen and clean it up.Arguably if the griddle is well seasoned you can just give it a quick wipe down with a cloth.
So why only 4 stars?Well, the griddle fits the grill so tightly that you actually can't put it at either end of the grill, due to the bolts on the back of the grill pushing the griddle forward just a bit so you can't close the lid of the grill. You need to scoot the griddle a couple of inches over to clear this bolt if you want to close the lid (which you probably do).
The other issue I have is that there is no good way to store this.It would have been nice to see something like a liner, etc, that could be used to encapsulate this so you could store it in the grill cart.If you just slide this in it will scratch up the finish on your grill, you don't want that!
All in all this is a reasonable value for money paid, it's a great addition to your Summit 600 series and makes even more flexible cooking on the grill possible.
OK, I should have believed some of the other reviews but I thought I would chance it. I ordered a 7532, the dimensions say 20.8 x 13.9 x 2, ok its not 2 inches thick and it actually measures 19-3/8 x 12-1/2 x 3/4. Amazon was great, they gave me instructions to send it back, then I ordered the Weber 7404, hoping it will be the size I want.....wrong answer, it says it measures 20.5 x 15 x 2 and it acually measures 19-1/4 x 11-1/4 x 3/4. Im sending it back too. I have emailed Weber a couple times and they have yet to reply......be careful what you order.

Heavy griddle, excellent cooking. I replaced one of the two grates with it.I purchased this with a new Weber grill and has worked well.Heats up quickly and cooks evenly. No problems. Some folks complain about the weight, but you need a griddle to be this massive to properly cook.As usual. Weber has built a product specific to the Summit grills that reflects the kind of cooking folks do on this product. For fish, veggies, and even the more unusual (ie. lobster) you can't beat this
