George Foreman 4 Serving Classic Plate Grill

George Foreman 4 Serving Classic Plate GrillUSING THE GRILL:

This George Forman grill is good for cooking for two or a small family. The grill flips open and you can place your food on it and close it so both the bottom and top are cooking at the same time. The grill comes with a spatula and cleaning tool. The grease from the grill drips into a small grease cup which is included.

COOKING:

The cooking surface is 60 square inches. This means that you can fit about two hamburgers, two chicken legs, two typical sized sandwiches/paninis or five big sausages (like bratwurst). The cooking surface has ridges and is tilted so the grease on the food can drip down into the grooves and off the grill into the grease drip cup. This helps get rid of more fat so the food comes out healthier.

This model is not temperature controlled like the premium model depending on what you are cooking you can end up burning some food before its cooked in the middle if you cook it with the lid down. Some things need to be cooked with the lid open. The top does not get as hot as the bottom does, so to cook thoroughly, often you have to flip the burgers over once.

SIZE:

The cooking surface is 60 square inches. Closed, it is about a foot long and wide (not quite square) and is about six inches tall. The whole cooking surface is raised up, which makes it great for scraping food directly off the grill onto a plate or into a taco shell. This size is pretty good for cooking for two or for a small family. If you are cooking large meals, either in advance or for say four adults, you will have to cook in batches. You might want to consider the 100 inch model George Foreman GR100V 100-Square-Inch Nonstick Grill with Variable Temperature Control if you do that frequently.

CLEANING:

The grill is designed to be easy clean, and for the most part you can just wipe it down with a sponge or wet paper town.If you do this while its still warm it will be easier. However, some marinades will adhere more to the surface and can be more of a pain to get off not impossible, but more work. The grill comes with a tool to help clean it.

PROS:

Easy to clean (99% of the time)

Raised up means its easy to scrape things off the grill onto a plate

Cooks fast

Removes a lot of grease while cooking, for healthier meals

Nice sleek look

Built well enough to last a few years of constant use before needing replacement

CONS:

Doesn't always cook evenly top to bottom, flipping is required sometimes

Marinades can adhere to the cooking surface and are harder to clean

Cord is short only 2 feet, so you need to be very close to an outlet

Isn't truly family sized, this is really sized better for two people

Overall, its a good buy, especially at this price. I would recommend it.

This'll make a couple of hamburgers, a couple of chicken legs or two standard-sized sandwiches (which is English for panini) at the same time. With the adjustable lid set up, it'll make open-faced sandwiches. It's not so great at grilling steaks (the upper element doesn't get hot enough) but for a quick burger, it can't be beat. The non-stick surface is a treat (try to clean it before it cools all the way; it's a little easier that way).

I replaced an older Foreman model of the same size and reviews of this model helped me determine that this was the size I wanted. The old one I got rid of had the bun warmer on top, which was mainly inconvenient, not only because I never used it, but it was the first thing to break (every time I opened the grill the bun warmer lid would flip open). I love that this grill takes up little counter space but holds a decent amount of food and that there's no bun warmer. It heats quickly, maintains temperature well and holds two large burgers or five real sausages (not breakfast links it would probably do 10-12 of those at a time) or six hot dogs. I don't cook chicken on it, but it would probably cook 2-3 chicken breasts, depending on size. For clean-up, I wait for the grill to cool down and then wipe down the top and bottom grill plates with a couple of paper towels. Then it's perfectly clean and ready to heat up for the next use. I realized how much we love this thing when we lived without one for a month.

I had debated for a long time whether to buy this cheaper George Foreman grill or to suck it up and buy the premium model. After having used it to grill chicken and bacon, I am convinced that the premium model is worth the extra money. ALthough the food cooked well, the top cooked faster than the bottom resulting in some burned chicken. Skip this one and go for a premium, temperature controlled model.

Weight Watchers 3-piece Nonstick Aluminum Saute and Skillet Set

Weight Watchers 3-piece Nonstick Aluminum Saute and Skillet SetBoth my wife and I enjoy cooking, and are always looking for good pans at reasonable prices, since we use then regularly. We purchased this 12" pan as a separate unit.First time using it we were cooking delicate French Toast and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, a low temp situation. We thought the micro machined grooves on the bottom of the pan would enhance heat transfer. Wrong....what it did was go round-bottom while on the stove, rendering heat transfer, ability to keep it stabilized, and cooking times useless. This pan is poorly designed and any pan that warps at medium heat is sheer junk. Better elsewhere skip this stuff!

hmm i love these and i'm not sure why other people's items broke so easily.I got them as a gift last christmas (he bought them off groupons) and i love them much more than the new set i recently purchased that's 3 times more expensive than these.

After a couple months the handles on both pans cracked in half.

I dropped the lid and the side folded in like it was tin foil.

What a piece of sheet!!!

Cheap pans purchased at the discount store are better quality than these.

If I could rate these a negative number I would.

Overall it is a lightweight and cheap, you get what you pay for.The skillet pan the one that I use most often broke just after 3 months. One day I noticed the handle was cracked and then the next it just fell off.I never put it in the oven, so the only thing I can think of is that I run the dishwasher on "Sanitizer" so maybe even through it says it is dishwasher safe, the super hot water cracked the handle. It claims to have a limited lifetime warranty but I can't find any way actually get in contact with weight watchers to see the details.I'd say save your money and buy a slightly more expensive pan, it will last longer and save you money in the end.

Presto 06003 Options Electric Multi-Cooker/Steamer

Presto 06003 Options Electric Multi-Cooker/SteamerI bought this EXACT model in 2001, and along with steaming, blanching, roasting, etc., it clearly advertises itself as a "deep fryer" of which it does an excellent job.The manual even includes full frying instructions!

If Presto has decided to now say "don't fry in this", it is strictly a legal move. The problem is that Presto's "fry daddy" line has no temperature control, and it's preset low enough so that you can't set any frying liquid on fire. But these also have no versatility.

The multi-cooker can do so much more, because you can set the temperature from "warm" to 400 degrees. This is higher than the smoke point of some frying mediums (lard and shortening in particular) and therefore IF you don't know the smoke point of what you're using, you can get in trouble. This is probably why Presto's lawyers decided to say it's not a fryer anymore, although it clearly is.I, however, will happily continue to use my multi-cooker to make great fries, fried shrimp and chicken, donuts, etc. in addition to steaming and blanching vegetables, as well as braising. It's the most versatile appliance I own!

I just got this today at Walmart for more than 1/3 off Amazon's price and it says plain and clear that it IS for frying among other things..I tried it an the temp was accurate too. IT also has one of those new magnetic type cords for saftey and you can stick all of it (the pot and lid) in the dishwasher except the cord and thermostat thing. This is a great deal! IT does the job off a fryer, steamer and a crock pot and cost less than most of them do by themselves. I tried the steamer fuction too and it works great! I highly reccomend this, Try it , you won't be dissapointed!

I come from a large family, so i do a lot of cooking. This year everyone came to my house for Christmas, and not only was my mom impressed with my cooking, but also the way everything taste coming out of the steamer. She actually tried to take it home with her.... A week earlier, some of the guys came over, and my wife made her famous deep fried hot wings. The guys went nuts, especially, my brother Jarrick, he loved that there was little mess and because of the drop basket and tempature gauge, not mistakes.I'm buying one for my mom and my brother, at least that way i know i can keep my own! Thanks Presto

I have had this Multi-Cooker for years, and I still love it.I started out using it to steam clams and crab legs. Then I went on to use it as a stock pot it's great for quickly reducing to freezable size.I recently have found a great hot wings sauce (Ken's) and have been using my true-blue multi-cooker as a fryer, and it is working out great.I just love this thing. It is easy to clean up.It's light and easy to handle. It heats up quickly and has had no technical problems.I love being able to tell what temperature I am cooking on (can set degrees not just high medium or low temps) and be able to see through the glass lid at how the contents are doing. This is definitely a kitchen must-have.

I, too, bought this cooker at Target believing it was a fryer and was disappointed that the instructions noted it was NOT a fryer.Unable to find anything I liked better (the plastic machines seem flimsy and clunky), I took the advice of the last reviewer and tried it as a deep-fryer for tofu and eggrolls. It works! The thermostat seems reliable, and it heats up quickly enough.Plus, it's dishwasher-safe and nonstick. The only disappointments include the fry-basket, which isn't optimum for draining oil and is awkward to handle with a removable pinch-handle-but I improvised with tongs. And it would be nice to have an airtight lid to store the oil-but the glass one does just fine if you change the oil occasionally. As someone who usually avoids frying foods for health reasons, this little pot allows me to cook the few fried goods I'd normally go out for as well, or even better, than how I'd get them at a restaurant-and it makes my "it-ain't-good-unless-it's-fried" husband feel like he's got a place in the kitchen.

Good weight, heavier than my old one was.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 14-Inch Roasting/Lasagna Pan

Cuisinart CI1136-24CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 14-Inch Roasting/Lasagna Pan, Cardinal RedI was so disappointed when this item came. The vendor has the description listed as being 3.8 inches deep, not 2.8 inches deep like it is.They offered to refund my money, but I would have had to send it back on my dollar, and a cast iron lasagna pan would have cost too much to send back, so I decided to let myself be stuck with it.

Nice quality; however, the pan is nowhere near as deep as advertised. It is only 2 and 3/4 inches deep (total outside depth).Inside is only 2 1/2 inches deep.

This turns out to be the one of the best cooking purchases I've ever made. I used it for roasting vegetables and they turned out great. I've also used it as a casserole dish (baked and stuffed chicken) and everything came out perfectly done.

As for carrying a dish to another's house there is no comparison to cast iron for maintaining the heat.

I really like cast iron pans, so thought this would be great for lasagna and it is, but the size of this thing weighs a ton, especially when loaded with lasagna, which is heavy anyway. If you use this thing in the oven, you'd best have some pretty heavy-duty oven racks and some arm muscles to wrestle it in and out of the oven!

In my Mom's brand new Maytag Neptune stove the oven rack flexed, but didn't permanently bend the rack. A lesser oven rack would, undoubtedly, be permanently damaged.

The pan was so heavy loaded with lasagna neither my Mom nor I could get it into or out of the oven. Had to have my husband do it. I wouldn't advise putting it onto a dishwasher rack!

Clean-up was great...nothing stuck to it and washing was easy except for hefting it over to rinse.

I think I'd best look for a cermaic version of this same size pan.

5-qt. Saute Pan with Lid

5-qt. Saute Pan with LidI already had purchased two large skillets with this type of lining and I was pleased with them so when I needed a large capacity pan I searched online until I located this one.I have already used it and it worked out well.I have found with this type of lining it worked best for me if I heated the pan and then sprayed with PAM and/or added a small amount of oil.the pans clean up well.

I bought this pan to replace a old non-stick saute pan that was no longer non-stick.I bought this pan based on all of the other positive reviews and they did not even come close to describing how great this pan is.The non-stick coating is fantastic!I have now used this pan three times and nothing has come close to sticking at all making cleanup very easy. This non-stick coating will allow you to brown unlike other non-sticks but not as good as my stainless/copper pan.My only small complaint is that this 5qt pan is slightly smaller in diameter but a bit taller than my other 5qt pans; personally I would have preferred larger and shallower.

Update International AFX-08H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 8-Inch

Update International AFX-08H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 8-InchPros: The coating is great, we have used it quite a bit the past month and I can flip eggs or whatever with just a silicone spatula without any oil. The pan is thick and distributes the heat very well.

Cons: I can't flip a crepe on it without using a spatula... this may not be a big deal to many people, but I enjoy it. things don't "stick", but food still clings to the pan so you have to use a spatula instead of just shaking it.

The big problem with this pan is that it isn't balanced well. The handle is made of some heaver steel so it won't sit flat on an electric stove... this may not be as big of a deal on a gas stove.

Also the aluminum seems to be fairly soft and I can see marks in it even though we have always been careful to not use metal utensils on it... so we'll see how it holds up in the long run.

All-Clad Stainless 7-1/2-Inch Nonstick French Skillet

All-Clad Stainless 7-1/2-Inch Nonstick French SkilletThis skillet is not ready for prime time and not up to par with other All-Clad skillets. It is very lightweight which makes it feel like a cheap bargain-basement purchase, not something that costs $60.00. The handle on this skillet is the worst I have ever seen. It is extremely uncomfortable to hold unlike other All-Clad handles. The upper edges are so thin they feel as if they could cut into the hand. The customer service rep at All-Clad told me all of their French skillets have the same handle so that means I will not be buying more.

We got this pan in July (6 months before this review) and we've been using it more or less non-stop since then.It works very nicely on our ceramic, smooth-topped electric range and has held up through many rides in the dishwasher. Not a mark on the non-stick interior yet.The handle hasn't struck me as much, if at all, different than the many other All-Clad pots and pans that I've got.

The pan is a bit lighter than the 8 inch regular non-stick stainless skillet but holds its heat quite well.It was a good price versus the 8 inch skillet, too.

Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black.

Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black. Some customers have commented on how poor this one performs, and blaming Cooks Illustrated for the recommendation.

However, CI recommends the professional griddle; the PCG-10, and not this one.

I agree, this one does not perform the same. I tried this one first, sent it back and ordered the PCG-10, which is a bit more expensive but well worth the money. I was trying to save a few bucks as well and purchased this one, thinking it would be the same, only without the back splash. I was wrong.

Go for the one that was recommended; it's really great although the price is higher.

I too read the recommendation from the Cook's Illustrated and purchased the griddle. My griddle also heats unevenly. So I'd say three out of three reviews with experience with four griddles this griddle does not perform well.In addition, it has a rather industrial finish to it, not at all refined in appearance or feel.I was very disappointed. The one upside is the large surface area, much larger than most.Last point, even though it says it has a teflon non-stick surface you still have to season the pan or things will stick.

Buy Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black. Now

Cook's Illustrated (CI) rated this griddle high in a product test, so I purchased one (through a different retailer than this one) at the end of 2005. The large surface is great. Six large pancakes can cook at once, a pound of thick-sliced bacon can be squeezed onto the surface, and two omelets can cook side-by-side.

Clean up is a breeze since the entire griddle (minus controller) can be dunked into the sink. I did see some staining of the cooktop when bacon was cooked, but as long as you wipe the grease off right away and lay a wet towel on the hot surface to loosen the stuck-on residue, it cleans up well.

Although CI said this griddle had even heating, I discovered that my griddle had uneven heat across the surface. The third of the griddle nearest the controller heats to the temperature of the controller, but the opposite two-thirds was about 100 degrees hotter. This was very evident when cooking pancakes the uneven heat caused the cakes to be two different colors.

Perhaps mine was the exception and the uneven heating is a fluke on this one. The retailer agreed to a return of my griddle so I hope to have a new one soon. I'm interested to hear what others have experienced with this griddle.

Update 8/16/06: I received a new, replacement griddle from the retailer. Although this one doesn't have the high range of temperature difference that the first one did, it too heats unevenly. The surface temp is about 60 degrees hotter than the controller temp across most of the griddle; one small spot registers the same temp as the controller setting. Overall, I'm disappointed with the griddle and with the review by Cook's Illustrated.

As stated on the Broil King web site, this grill is the same as the PCG-10 less a small backsplash.

I have owned this grill for over two years and used it fairly regularly 3 to 5 times a week.

First, save your money and buy this model verse the PCG-10. I took the backsplash off and have never needed it. It looks nice but isn't useful.

The grill has held up well. The only problem being, after using the grill for two years, that the temputure control unit that plugs into the side burned out, and now I have to order a new control unit replacement part. Still compared to other cheap electric grills, the Broil King has a heavier non stick cook top and cooks evenly with good temputure control range. The big surface works well for six large pancakes or a pound of bacon.

As far as electric grills go this one is good.

I spent more in hopes of having a reliable griddle that would be even cooking. I should have stuck with the 30 dollar ones. There is a stain around the element ON the front finish. Not good. It cooks very unevenly, not to mention the fact that the handles are a bad design. They broke during shipping and had to be replaced. If you want a good griddle, keep looking.

Range Kleen 10-Inch Red Fry Pan with black matte interior

Range Kleen 10-Inch Red Fry Pan with black matte interiorThis cast iron pan is the best of all worlds; pre-seasoned, enamel coated outer (perfect for smooth top ranges), cast iron handle (perfect for using in the oven). It does everything you want a cast iron pan to do, and has been adapted to the modern day (smooth outer for ceramic cook-tops).

It cleans easily with a stiff brush, especially when the pan is not left for long periods with encrusted or burnt food. It is best cleaned while still warm. I use salt as an abrasive, and for germ-killing abilities, when rubbing off crusty items...I add a bit of water when I am desperate. Proper drying and oiling prevents rusting.Frequent use, especially with oils, will continue to season the pan to perfection.

It is a heavy pan, but it is cast iron. It is what it is. Using two hands to handle the pan will ease your burden.

I heard how great this pan was but everything I cooked stuck to the bottom and it was very heavy. Tossed it.

I regret I ever bought this cookware set from Dr. Mercola. No matter how much butter or oil you use too cook with, every thing sticks to it.I take good care of my pans but the enamel is chipped off on many of them no matter how careful I am washing them. The coating and the enamel paint they use on these pans are crap.I have to turn the gas heat up in order to brown any thing. They are worse than the cheaper cast iron pans I use to have. They are very heavy too. The red enamel on the bottom of the cookware is all discolored and there are scratches on them and I use a non-scratch dobie pad.

I bought these because Dr. Mercola raved about them at one time and now he sells a different set of cookware which I never would buy from him again. He is a rip off and please, don't buy from him or you'll get screwed like I have.I wish I could bring myself to throw these pans out but until I can get a better cookware set, they will have to do.I don't know if I would even want to give them away to the Goodwill because I don't want others to go through the hell I have with this cookware.

I cook basmati rice in the sauce pan and it sticks to the bottom no matter how low of heat you use.

Truth be told, I had never owned a cast iron skillet before I purchased the two from Range Kleen.

I had read that this was a good alternative to tephlon coated skillets so I decided to bite the bullet and get a couple.I am so glad that I did.

Did I know what to do to take care of them?NO!

So, when I experienced food sticking, I realized that I was not doing something right.Since I didn't just want to throw the skillet away after noticing rust(!) I did a little research on the internet.I wasn't doing what I should have been doing to keep my skillets in tip top performing condition.I found a site called....I got some instruction on caring for my skillet.Perhaps the manufacturer could have provided more of this kind of information and helped the customers out (and themselves).

I now have the confidence I need to cook with my cast iron skillets and and care for them...All thanks to Derek!

So don't give up!

Now, if I would make two suggestions to future manufacturing of this skillet...please make a handle on the opposite side as well.It doesn't have to be as long, just a handle to balance this heavy skillet as I carry it from one place to another. The other suggestion would be to give more detail instructions on the maintanance and care as well as likely problems that may arise due to not properly maintaining and some instruction to correct if necessary.I did fine in my research, but wish I had the more knowledge provided to me when I received the skillets.

Just my 2 cents.

Scanpan CTX 11" Fry Pan

Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry PanThis is our Third Scanpan, and we love them.Quite simply the best non-stick cookware we have found.

Let me give a quick background After we collected All-Clad for several years, it was evident that the non-stick All-Clad was not up to the task.It began to get old and clean-up became tiresome and difficult as the All-Clad non-stick coating wore down and honestly stopped working. We also own some of the All-Clad stainless that is "supposed" to be non-stick based on heating it first, but I find that to be untrue. For pots and other cookware we still like it.

Scanpan has become our favorite cookware over the last 3 years, and the first one purchased is as clean and effective as this brand-new one.No visible wear or tear at all, and a breeze to clean up.We started with the small 8 inch, then the 10 inch, and now the 12 inch to round out our collection and replace our last All-Clad non-stick.It is all very durable and fast to heat up, giving perfect even heating across the pan.All of our pans are the CTX line, which we found to be a bit more heavy duty and well built than the cheaper linethicker with a better handle.I can't speak to how the cheaper line may work.My only small complaint is only during clean-up the small steel buttons where the handle is attached is a bit harder to clean, and by saying this you know we are spoiled because the rest of the pan is clean with a wipe of a paper towel or cloth, then you have to scrub the buttons for a few seconds to remove food from them.No biggie. If only they were made from the same material!

I can't say enough about these they are all we use now.Highly recommended and well worth the extra money!

I combined raw onions and a sweet Italian sausage in this skillet on low heat. After the onions were cooked I removed them and turned up the heat to medium high to brown the sausage. When that was done I tried to clean it. The onion remnants refused to be cleaned off. Something about them had bonded tightly to the surface. I contacted Scanpan and they advised adding a teaspoon of baking soda to two cups of water, bring to boil, let stand for 30 mins and then scrub. I had to repeat this EIGHT times before the surface was clean. Now the surface is nothing like as slippery as it was originally, and even fish sticks to it. It remains easy to clean, but it's still a disappointment.

Other reviewers have mentioned what makes them so great, and I agree.I think there is something about the ceramic/titanium material embedded just below the surface that makes it cook so much like stainless steel, but without sticking, of course.I rarely use SS skillets for browning anymore, unless I want to make a sauce from the "fond" that builds up in the pan.

The one thing that would make them PERFECT would be a flared pouring rim. This may be difficult to implement due to the materials used.I don't know, but it would be great to have.I find that when I pour from these pans, I have to be ready with a slightly wet and soapy dishcloth to quickly wipe the side/bottom, as liquid WILL run down the sides and then the bottom. If I don't wipe immediately, and the pan is really hot, the liquid will begin to harden/set.

This effect would be even more so with a gas or hot radiating electric cooktop if the pan is returned to the burner without wiping, and cooking continues. Then you will then have to later exert some unnecessary "elbow grease" to clean.

Bar Keeper's Friend works great, btw.

When one reads that this cookware is PFOA-free and how the nonstick coating is applied, words like eco-friendly, titanium, ceramic, high temp make one think SAFE! and one would immediately assume that it has no Teflon. I did. Wrong! The cookware does not have PFOA but it has PTFE (=Teflon). Go to the Scanpan website. You'll see that their non-stick coating is called Greblon. Greblon is a brand name and is the same as Teflon, Silverstone, Fluron, Supra, Excalibur, Xylon, Duracote, Resistal, and so on. They are all PTFE (=Teflon). I am kicking myself hard for trusting the sales people (Sur la Table store in town) when they told me: "Yes, you can heat up tortillas safely on this skillet. It has no Teflon". Fortunately my parrot is alive and well.

I own a set of high-quality stainless steel cookware and I'm very happy with it, but there are times when a non-stick pan is what's needed for the task at hand, and the Scanpan CTX fills the bill perfectly:"Recycled aluminum core with Ceramic Titanium PFOA-Free Non-stick interior surface and 18/10 Stainless Steel exterior."

A lot of "safe" non-stick pans have hit the market recently, and most of them have been accompanied by a plethora of complaints, including losing their non-stick properties after only a few months, and some after just a few uses. This is not the case with the Scanpan.I own both the 10 1/4 inch pan and the 8 inch pan.The 8 inch pan is my go-to pan for omelets and/or scrambled eggs.Nothing sticks to these pans, the food slides out without a hitch each and every time, and the pans look just as good as the day I bought them, no signs of wear and tear.

If you're looking for a durable, high-quality, non-stick pan you won't be disappointed with the Scanpan CTX.

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 10-Inch Omelet Pan

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 10-Inch Omelet PanI own the entire set of Calphalon Contemporary and use it daily. These pans are outstanding; the heat distribution is excellent (I've checked it with a laser thermometer), it's nicely weighted and the curved sides on the pan itself are excellent when flipping contents (which makes you look quite professional, if I do say so myself).

As for the handles, the curved design makes it easy to keep the contents of the pan level when picking it up and they stay surprisingly cool during cooking. While they're long enough to give the proper leverage, they are slightly shorter than some other pans I've used. This is a tremendous benefit though I have two little girls in the house and I always point the handles inward toward the center of my cooktop; because they're slightly shorter, they don't overlap or tangle with one another.

I did notice another reviewer remark that food sticks to them and that they're hard to clean. I don't want to pick on anyone, but I suspect that the problem lies more in the cleaning and prep than the pan itself. As a general rule, stainless cookware needs a reasonable coating of fat or oil before the cooking contents are added. Even if a recipe calls for a certain amount of oil at the onset, a few drops swished around the bottom and sides of the pan before heating works wonders. Also, how you clean them is key. Like cast iron, stainless steel can actually be seasoned (oil settles into the microscopic pores of the steel) and that makes it somewhat nonstick. However, if you use a strong soap and abrasive pads to clean the pan, you eliminate the seasoning and are always starting from scratch! I find a tiny amount of soap (if any) and warm water will keep the cookware clean, smooth and low maintenance.

I have purchased many pots and pans in this collection. I have the exact pan in non-stick but wanted the stainless version. Now I've had some mishaps (tilapia) but for the most part the pan has performed extremely well.It heats up very fast and I have a ceramic cooktop. I love the feeling of cooking with out non-stick cookware. I plan on purchasing the 12 inch soon.

I've purchased the SS as a replacement for a non-stick Calphalon skillet that I enjoyed using. It's holding up well to my cooking style, which involves a fair amount of high-temp quick cooking that sears the meats I use. I only wish it could help when I set off my fire alarm due to the smoke!

I bought this for my wife.I read reviews about pots/pans where non-stick coatings could be dangerous or peel off. While this is not a problem, the food sticks to this skillet like a magnet. My wife hates to use it because it is so hard to clean afterwards, but I would much rather prefer this than cookware that causes cancer!

Revere 1400 Line 3-Quart Covered Saucepan

Revere 1400 Line 3-Quart Covered SaucepanThe other reviewer is right about old Revere Ware; its great stuff that'll last forever. However, newer Revere Ware, like what's being advertised here, is total junk. I own an old 2qt saucepan and a brand new 4.5qt Dutch oven. The Dutch oven isflimsy and the lid doesn't fit well. If you want good Revere Ware make sure it's from the USA (not Indonesia, like the new stuff) and OLD. Try yard sales or ebay. The only thing to recommend new Revere ware is the 25 year warranty. That is the only way the old and new products are comparable.

I bought one of these recently. The bottom warped after the first couple of uses, making it useless on my glass top stove. I tried to contact Revere about it with no response.

I ordered this pan beacuse I liked the old RevereWare pan I have had and wanted another.I received this pan and could not believe how much lighter and of less quality it was as compared to the original RevereWare pan I have had for years. I looked on the botom of the new pan and it is made in China.IS IS A PIECE OF JUNK.I returned the pan.I would not recommend this pan to anyone.

I received the 3 Quart Saucepan as a gift and was eager to compare it to the one I have had for almost 20 years.I have read other reviews that complain that the pan is "light weight" and "made in China." I found this pan to be of the same weight as my old pan with the same rivet construction and copper-clad base. The copper bottom is stamped "Indonesia" unlike my old version which is stamped "Rome, NY." While I'm disappointed it is no longer manufactured in the United States, I will say that it still seems to be the same trusted Revere "recipe."Of course, if I discover any problems I will update this review.

The quality of this pot is complete junk.I made a mistake of throwing out the packaging and now I am stuck with this POS.The worst part about this pot is that the interior surface is very rough and covered with dangerous metal residue from poor manufacturing process.

I spent 35 minutes scrubbing it off AFTER the pot was put through a dishwasher.I am still not comfortable using this for food preparation. They should pull this terrible product off the market immediately -it's simply irresponsible for this company to sell this crap to it's customers.

See attached picture -the paper towel on the left shows how much metallic residue was on the pot AFTER it came from the dishwasher. The paper towel on the right is the amount of residue that was still there after I scrubbed the pot with a dish washing sponge for over 10 minutes!

Excelsteel Professional Aluminum Frypan with Ceramic Non-Stick Coating

Excelsteel Professional Aluminum Frypan with Ceramic Non-Stick Coating, 8-Inch, Off-WhiteI originally threw away all my nonstick Revereware because I was frightened by the effects of the various chemicals on the nonstick. It was starting to chip and get into my food. I switched completely to stainless steel and I've been using that. I noticed I was avoiding making simple dishes like eggs and sausage because the food would stick and it was hard to clean. I even got a special cleaner for the stainless steel but it didn't work. I've been seeing all this hype about the "greener" nonsticks. But I've shied away because of the hefty price tag.I was at the supermarket and I saw this pan. It was also expensive but I liked the feel of the nonstick. I also liked the claims that they didn't use chemicals often found in nonstick. I checked out the price of Amazon and was very pleased with that it was about 1/2 the price than what I saw at the store.

When I first got it, I immediately put it in the dishwasher. It came out fine so I made some sausage with it. It was slow to heat (apparently it will work on an induction stove-top but I only have a regular glass-top-maybe that slows the process a little) but it cooked the sausage perfectly. When I went to rise out the pan, both my husband and I laughed. Just rising it off appeared to completely clean it! It was amazing. The next night I made eggs. Same-slow to heat but made the eggs perfect! Then it was very easy to clean. I always rise it off then put in it in the dishwasher. I've had no problems. I really like this pan and look forward to ordering more sizes. I will update if I have any issues but so far I would highly recommend!

We've been using this skillet for a month and it has performed extremely well.Didn't realize the skillet has small ridges when initially ordered, but discovered they don't hamper cooking or cleaning in any way. This 12" was our "test" skillet, so today we're ordering another along with an 8" and 10".Food is cooked evenly and clean-up could not be easier.

We have gone through many non-stick skillets over the years but this one is the best.We have used it at least 100 times now and it still looks and performs like new.You can cook at low temperatures and the ceramic surface cooks very evenly and the food tastes wonderful. We don't typically wash it in the dishwasher because it is so easy to clean and we don't want to tie it up in the dishwasher until it is ran again.I bought this skillet as a result of researching the best non-stick surface to avoid carcinogens related to cancer.Ceramic was recommended but, being skeptical of non-stick surfaces, I didn't want to spend too much money. We are so pleased with this skillet we added the 12 inch skillet to our Christmas list.

OK.Really , I don't know how this is a 5 star. The bottomof the inside of the pan looks like small chicken wire that's been spraypainted.I WAS going to return it unused. But I figured what the heck, I'll test it out.First I fried an eggwithout oil and it came out no problem.ThenI cooked a slice of "american cheese food product" and it peeled right out...no stickies. So, Iguess I'mkeeping my chicken wire pan:)
