Kila Chef 11" Tri-Ply Copper Bottom Frying Pan
This thick pan from KilaChef has a copper exterior, an aluminum core, and a polished stainless steel interior. It is well constructed, feels comfortable and is well balanced. I like the fact that this pan is 3 mm thick, (compared to the more common thickness of 2.1 mm), which makes a huge difference in cooking. The copper exterior and the aluminum core go all over including the sides. The fry pan has sloped sides and the sauté pan has higher but vertical sides. I am glad I bought both pans.
The copper bottom conducts heat quickly and efficiently. The thick aluminum core helps to retain heat while the smooth stainless steel interior is in contact with food. I am able to cook with very little oil without burning the foods; and sauces, sautés, and pan frys come out perfectly. The Julia Child technique of making "fonds" works like a charm with this pan.
The pan heats and cools quickly and I had to learn to lower the heat once it heats up. I find that I can use a lower heat setting than with other pans I have used in the past. Cleaning is easy with a copper cleanser for the exterior and a steel cleanser for the interior. I use Bar Keepers friend.
I like the 11 inch size. (I find that a 10" is too small and a 12" is too large for my standard GE stovetop). The KilaChef pan not only looks good but is also functional. After some use the copper soon got the patina, coloration, and character that all copper gets.
In my opinion, this pan is far superior to my All Clad-pan but not as good as my heavy Mauviel. But at this cost I can use it everyday and don't mind if I beat it up. Gourmet cooking is my new hobby. I plan to buy a few more as Christmas gifts.

Tip: if stains remain after running the pan through the dishwasher, a little barkeeper's friend censer will clean them up nice.
Also: If your food sticks, try heating the pan on medium until a drop of water will roll around the bottom without evaporating. (this may take a while depending on your stove) Once it's hot enough, add grapeseed or canola oil, allow the oil to coat the entire bottom of the pan, then add food.
Did I mention it's made in the USA?top quality. could only get it thru amazon. Next to my old cast iron pans, All-clad is the tops for cooking, baking and broiling.

I agree with the previous two reviews, this is a great looking and great cooking set of pots and pans.
I was having trouble with eggs sticking also, so having the occasion of 3 sisters-in-law present one day asked the cooks among them what I should do for eggs over easy.
The solution for me was to cook at the lowest setting possible on a gas stove top, warm up the fry pan for a few minutes with oil covered, add the egg, and recover, cook, flip, recover, done, no sticking.
Egg was perfect!!
Seems the solution is covering the frying pan while egg is cooking.
Whether it adds moisture while cooking or it just works better that way I don't know, but it works.
I would never have thought of this on my own and never saw this technic in any review or hand-out by the company.
This set replaced a much more expensive Calphalon non-stick set, very unhappy with Calphalon.

I purchased these last week, and haven't used them much, but I LOVE them. I bought a larger 5 Qt Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Sauteuse at the same time ($100), and although I love the size of that pan, the Kirkland pans cook scrambled eggs better, are heavier, heat more evenly, don't stick as much, and since I bought a used set on ebay, were much cheaper for all 13 pieces than for the two-piece Calphalon pan with lid. Only some of the set was used, so a minute or less with Bar-Keepers friend on a couple of the pans and they all shined like new. I've cooked scrambled eggs with the skillet, and was thrilled at how well they cooked vs. the Calphalon. I read on other sites to heat the pan, add the oil, let the oil heat, then add the eggs, and WOW! no sticking, as good as non-stick, actually better because the eggs had smaller curds. I cooked eggs the same way with the Calphalon, and the eggs didn't stick until I stirred the eggs to scramble them, then I wind up with a thin layer of egg at the bottom of the pan.
The only thing that some may not like on the Kirkland pans, vs the Calphalon Contemporary is that the Calphalon pan is made up of two pieces the handle and the pan (all-clad or multiclad is what it is called I think), and the Kirkland is made up of three the handle, the pan, and the disk at the bottom of the pan where the aluminum and copper disk is, the aluminum/copper doesn't extend up the sides of the pans. The disk is attached well and isn't unattractive, it even has a copper band around it that looks pretty and cleans nicely with the Barkeeper's Friend. Personally, I'd rather have the Kirkland that is heavy and cooks well, vs the Calphalon that isn't near as heavy and doesn't heat as evenly (I put egg whites in the Calphalon, put the lid on the pan, and watched while one half of the egg cooked and the other half of the egg was raw and clear gas stove).
I'm really happy with my Kirkland set, I love everything about the pans, sometimes I even like to just admire their beauty.

I did exhaustive research on cookware and expected this to be comparable to some of the higher end sets selling for $350 $500. Indeed, the construction and descriptions all sound similar, and I did in fact go to Macy's to look at the higher end cookware, hold it to feel it's weight, etc.My previous cookware was Calphalon nonstick, mixed in with some stainless pots that I grew up with (mom's old Revere Ware -which performed much better than this) and I am old enough to remember what cooking in stainless was like before non stick was all the rage.
I haven't had a very good experience with these. I was diligent in following directions on how to oil and heat the pans, but a couple of them, in particular one stubborn 10 inch fry pan, has just been a nightmare. Everything sticks to it no matter what I do or how much oil I put into the pan. I've spent more time researching how to clean and "fix" this pan than I did researching good, affordable cookware in the first place. Unfortunately, the only thing that has worked to some degree was easy-off oven cleaner. Since I bought these for improved health (to get away from non-stick) using oven toxic cleaner doesn't bode well with me. But, even after the oven cleaner and slicking the pan with oil, all the Bon Ami and Barkeeper's Friend, lemon juice, steel wool scouring pads, nothing has worked to get the pan clean from one night of fried chicken we made a month after we bought it.
The problem may be related to the way the interior is finished slightly grooved instead of smooth.
The pots are okay, and clean up well enough, although I have had trouble with stuff sticking to them as well. The lids are scratched just from having them in the sink with other dishes. We've never put any of these in the dishwasher (there's NO WAY the dishwasher would get them clean.)
These pots and pans scratch very easily. Due to having to use a metal spatula to get the stuff that stuck horribly, they're all scratched up.
The smaller (8") fry pan hasn't given me too much trouble, but enough trouble that I've resorted to my old Calphalon non stick for frying eggs for breakfast.
I've had these for 5 months, and was so excited to get them. However, I have cooked less in the last 5 months than ever before in my life. I think it's because these pans are such a pain, I'd rather eat out than have to deal with the clean up. Anyhow, I've probably cooked 30 meals in 5 months. They are pretty when you can get them clean. When I'd read reviews of people claiming they had nothing but trouble, I figured they just didn't know how to cook in stainless. But, there's something else going on with these. A design flaw or some other quality issue perhaps.
One of my friends had a much older set of these from Costco that is probably 8-10 years old. They were wonderful and I enjoyed using them when at my friend's house. Friend lives out of state or I'd be able to compare them better but the construction on these appears different than the old ones everyone raved about. I have learned recently that the older sets of Kirkland Stainless that everyone raved about were made by Tramontina, which at the time manufactured their cookware in Brazil. (Tramontina now makes similar cookware that is sold at Walmart but half of it is made in China.)Several magazines and cooking sites cited Tramontina as being as good a All-Clad for about 1/3 the price. I have compared the two, and All Clad is much better quality wise but for low cost cookware, Tramontina is still a better deal than the new Costco set which, nowadays, is just cheaply constructed and made in China.
Another note. There was some pretty stubborn grey residue that took lots of washing to get off when we first purchased these. I suppose it was factory machine oil.No other brand sells their pans covered in thick, grey residue. Also, these weigh, depending on the pan, up to twice as much as All Clad and other high-end brands.
If you are looking for the best your money can buy in this price range, I'd check out Sur La Table's house brand. It's $249 for 9 pieces when it goes on sale. If that's out of your budget, I'd go with Ikea's Favorit line -really good quality and costs less than this, once you buy the 7 piece basic set ($79) and add on the additional pieces. Tramontina at Walmart is better than this for about the same price.
Pro's: They are pretty.

So after checking Amazon reviews, I decided to try this one.I am completely satisfied with this pan!I use it every week for pancakes, and they turn out perfectly -the pan heats evenly, the nonstick surface is pristine, and it's very easy to clean.I may well start using it for other purposes.
It is a little on the small side (I can only do 4 pancakes at a time), but that's inevitable; if the pan were any bigger, it wouldn't heat as evenly, and wouldn't cook as well.I don't consider that a defect -I consider that a necessary physical limitation of cooking on a non-commercial stove.
If I had to buy another grill pan, I'd buy this one again.I purchased this pan from Unbeatable Sale through Amazon.com to replace a similar one which was wearing from the use of an "unfriendly" dishwasher detergent. I use it for breakfast sausage, bacon, hamburgers, french toast, grilled cheese sandwiches and other items. Both the previous and current pans are great. I changed dishwasher detergents also! I hope that helps preserve them.

The ten-inch pan did an awesome, nonsticking job right our of the box. The heat distribution is excellent no hotspots even on a temperamental old gas range. I purchased the ten piece set and have been using it regularly for about three weeks and am very pleased. It's very easy cleaning, I need no additional oil, there's none of the gunk that builds up on Teflon, and I can use all my silicone and wood utensils very easily. I'm going to complete the set bit by bit, secure in the investment.

Very happy with this cookware!It heats quickly, cooks amazingly even and cleans up with ease.Plus it looks great!Very high quality, I believe this cookware will last a very long time.This is beautiful high performance cookware.It is completely non-stick, like just rinse it offnon-stick.I almost didn't order it because of some of the reviews and I waited for quite sometime in case the was a sudden happening that created the poor performance that some cited, but these pots and pans are 100% months later.Yes, I treat them carefully as far as scratching with metal, but that's it they clean like a dream and, very important to me they don't hold any smell check your teflon and it even keeps the smell of soap (disgusting).As directed I have not put them in the dishwasher but I don't see why you'd have to, you just have to rinse them off and then a quick soap for any oil and drips on the outside.The lids fit well and they heat evenly and thoroughly, go in the oven the handles are actually luxuriously long and well built.Anyone complaining about these has done some big damage to them or truly doesn't know what cooking is supposed to be.Again, they are beautiful, a fraction of the price of all clad (which sticks) and non-toxic/non-disgusting. For all intents and purposes, this springform pan does the job. However, after some usage , the non-stick coating on the inside begins to flake off. I've never owned a spring form pan, so my decision to purchase this item was based on the good reviews. Since it was my first pan, I didn't want to buy something very expensive (in case my interest in baking fizzled out), but I also didn't want something that was cheap and was going to have to be replaced quickly. The non-stick coating (along with a bit of cooking spray) worked perfectly for the basic cake mix I made. The pan is raised, so there are no edges for the cake to get caught on when sliding it off. The form cools relatively quickly and cleans easily. After a few uses, though, I did notice a bit of rust on the latch. It's not enough to be alarmed over nor does it come in contact with anything that's being baked in the pan. They came and did look and feel good..however as i expected..don't expect to lift a cast iron pot, pan or anything with these on..your hand will end up getting burned because the grips don't fit snugly, as they are a little large..the grips in general..and so the slits do open up and expose the base of the handle anyway if you try and lift a pan with these, thats why i had to give the product 3 stars and not 4 or 5.. if you are just using them on the stovetop and are handling pots and pans just on the stovetop with no intention of lifting anything hot..then they're OK and are worth buying.
The slits are Just too large in my opinion, they should've been no more then an inch, that way a cast iron pot or pan can be lifted from the stovetop without fear..but since the slits are 2 inches long, which is a pretty large slit..these are useless as far as taking cast iron from the stove to the oven or anywhere else..you'll need to use a kitchen towel anyway.
All in all just OK..not fantastic.
As Joy mentions above, the slits are a major issue, but I wouldn't even say they are "just OK". This is a fatal flaw! Did Signoro Molto even try these things out at some point in the design process? First of all, don't try reaching into the oven to grab a pan handle with one of these. If you can get the *entire sleeve* over the handle to spin it around (difficult in smaller ovens like mine), you ain't gettin' that pan out. Like to choke up on the handle for sauteeing in larger pans or cast iron (a necessity for those of us without Mario's Shrektastic physique)? Prepare to enjoy the delicious aroma of your own searing flesh when the slits open up and expose the hot metal to your skin.
This seemingly fabulous improvement over the plain-old silicon sleeve is a major fiasco. When will we learn that being a celebrity chef and TV personality DOES NOT qualify you to design kitchen gear?!
If you're looking for a sleeve by the way, try a classic like this -in green even! Not as sleek, but I've used one like this for years and never had an issue.

This little Pot Handle Sleeve is great.We only bought the one so that we could evaluate if it properly fit the cookware we use.It slides on like a glove and functions perfectly.It is a bit of a tight fit so you might want to make sure you put it on before you've heated up your pots and pans to a few hundred degrees, but once on you can't even tell that the pot is anything besides room temperature.We will definitely be ordering a few more of these.Want Mario Batali Silicone Pot Handle Sleeve/Grip Mitt, Pesto Discount?
I have Cast Iron (by Griswold) and Stainless Steel AllClad handled skillets and I though that these silicone sleeves would be good to use on those hot handles.At the discontinued prices of these things, I thought they would be a bargain (after all, how do you screw up a silicone sleeve).These sleeves have a huge slit on one side of the sleeve that basically lets the skillet handle make direct contact with your hand INSTANTLY.The slit is HUGE and there's so much play in the sleeve that rotating the sleeve that it feels like I'm using an oven mit to hold the skillet.
Even for 10 cents this product is totally not worth it ----I THREW THEM AWAY.
Nordic Ware French Crepes & Wraps Pan and Dipping Dish
The main secret is to dip the crepe maker uniformly straight into the pan and hold it therefor no longer than about a second.Then immediately lift straight up and hold it there for another 1-2 seconds BEFORE turning it over.This will make the batter cook just enough so that it will not run when you turn it back over (no mess).
Another secret is to LIGHTLY oil the pan often.It takes some practice to find the right amount of oil, as too much oil will cause crepes to fall off into the pan and too little will allow the batter to burn.
One last bit of advice:the batter must be exactly the right consistency; not too thick and not too thin.Again, this takes practice.But with all these things in place, you will make beautiful, perfect crepes every time.I hope this helps.
My only (tiny) complaint about this product is that the batter pan should be heavier.When the batter gets very, VERY low, the pan must be held down to the counter so that the final few crepes do not stick to the pan.Other than that, this product is perfect!

Just like the other reviewer, my dipping pan also started to peel after about 3 uses.However, I called the manufacturer and they promptly sent a new one.So if that happens, call them and they will take care of you!

I am happy to report that after a year my new dipping pan is still perfect no flaking!I suppose there was a bad batch at one point and that they fixed the issue.Also, don't be afraid to use it with an electric stove.That's what I have and it continues to work great!This is the third crepe maker I have had in 25 years and it is by leaps and bounds my favorite.I continue to give it an enthusiastic thumbs up!

The dipping dish peeled in the dishwasher totally destroyed after 2 washes, leaving maroon paint flakes that are fairly difficult to remove.

The set is good looking, the lids fit perfectly, the pot handles are comfortable to grip even with a full pot (much better than my one Calphalon pan).In my kitchen, if it isn't dishwasher safe, it is evicted, and these pots and pans do just fine in the dishwasher, unlike the aforementioned Calphalon.The pans are satisfyingly weighty, yet well balanced and the long pot handles stay cool to the touch (unless they are too close to another burner or the oven vent).The lid handles do get hot, but I always have a potholder handy.
Cooking:I find the cookware is very responsive to my gas range; the pans conduct heat very efficiently and it is essential when using these pans to keep that in mind.I recommend starting with a lower temperature than you think you need and increasing the heat if necessary until you become accustomed to the way the pans respond to heat.The pans heat very evenly, I've successfully melted chocolate with no burning on the lowest heat setting, and rice cooks perfectly at a low simmer with the lid firmly in place.I prefer these over non-stick pans when sautéing, these pans allow good browning which leaves yummy bits behind for deglazing into a sauce; these pans perform well in that capacity.The rolled rims mean liquids pour driplessly from the pan, a feature I find extremely valuable.The entire set is oven safe and I find that also an excellent feature.You can quickly sear a pork tenderloin and then pop the skillet right in the oven to roast it to perfection.One less dish to clean, all the cooked-on bits in one pan to deglaze.
Cleaning:I have not had any problems with cleaning the pans after use.Following the manufacturers recommendation, I add a little water to the warm pan and leave it to soak in the sink during dinner.Then the pan is loaded in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes.Occasionally food may stick around the rivets, but the dishwasher usually takes care of that with ease.The manufacturer suggests avoiding citrus dishwashing products so I do.The mirror like finish is beautiful, but this is actually my least favorite feature of the set.Fingerprints and water spots show up readily.This in no way interferes with the cooking value of the set, but if you are concerned with the way the set looks, this is a flaw.If you must have it, a quick wipe with Barkeepers Friend or Cameo polish will restore the mirror finish.
The set includes a 1-1/2& 3-quart saucepan, 8-quart stockpot, and 10-inch skillet.Lids for the saucepans and stockpot are included.I received the bonus 2-quart sautee pan with my set which has proved very useful.I would have preferred a 12 inch skillet to the 10 inch but even so I find the set an excellent value.I saw no need of an 8 inch skillet which is why I chose this set instead of the 10 piece set.I hope Cuisinart will be adding to the open stockavailable in this line.I have the 16-quart stockpot with steamer basket and pasta insert, but would love to find a pasta insert and steamer for the 8 quart stock-pot.
I think this set is an excellent value, and will satisfy me for years to come treated with a bit of care.I am replacing a set of Copper-bottomed Revere Ware my mother received as a wedding gift in 1950 (and used daily until she gave them to me 20 years ago), andI am hoping these will last as long, if not longer.If you are looking for the quality of All-Clad or Calphalon but not necessarily willing to fork over the dough, then this is a great set for the money. Fast, even heating; good looks; versatility (stove to oven to even freezer, if need be...); and a decent combination of pieces in the set made it the perfect choice for me, after nearly a year of research.
I don't find it as difficult to clean as other reviewers have commented. I will say that the mirror finish does show wear after just a few uses. It's not bad, by any means, but just know they won't stay perfect if you plan to use them. A few notes...
*They heat up fast! Don't ever leave the pan to heat up and do something else while waiting. You'll be at the temp you need lickety split.
*It's a good idea to soak them a bit after cooking something sticky--then cleanup is a breeze.
*Lid handles do get hot when covering to allow something to simmer or boil, but I've found my handles stay cool enough to take off the stove with no problem.
*I have yet to stick them in the dishwasher, but I know you can, so that's a plus. I have a tendency to soak them, wash them, and dry them right away so as not to get the water spots on the pretty finish that others have commented on.
All in all, I'm very happy with this set. After years of hand-me-downs with handles falling off, dented sides, and nonstick coating that wears off in no time, I feel safe and healthy cooking with my new Cuisinart.

Any shopper who is name conscious should stop for a moment and seriously consider this seven piece set. Cuisinart, a mainstay in the kitchen offers the cook in the household this wonderful 7 piece cookware set and Amazon.com offers it at an exceptional price.
The set features 18-10 Stainless Steel construction that makes each piece feel substantial. The design also aids in convection and, thus, requires less heat from the stove top but that Heat is not transferred to the handle making the handle cool to the touch.
Each piece features a high shine and bears the brand name on the side. Each piece is also rated up to 550 degrees which means it could double as bakeware.
The only thing I would have liked would have been a 12 inch rather than a 10 inch skillet but with that said, the 10 inch skillet is a great piece.

I am pleased with the performance and style of the Cuisinart Chef's Classic.Looks good and cooks generally ok.I just wanted to mention a few problems I've had.1.Dishwasher safe-the say ok but they don't recommend it because food particles from other items in the dishwasher may scratch the surface.2.After one use, the pan interior surfaces fail to maintain the original luster.The manufacturer provides very specific cleaning directions, but even following them I find the pans hard to maintain.3.They recommend using only lower heat-follow it!Foods burn easily even on medium heat.

Though heavier and more shallow than it would seem, based on the photo (probably depicting their smaller sized model?), it sure does appear to be as durable and functionally advanced for hot water rinse and paper towel wipe cleanup convenience for many years to come.Though not the super-slippery Tfal coating some people expect, this is a far superior nonstick material than all those "new" ceramic surfaced "Green" cookware products boast about.If that's what you're looking for, you'd do much better just getting an old-fashioned porcelain-on-cast-iron skillet like grandma used; I have tried to make an "Orgreenic" pan work as advertized and there's just no way (stickier than unpolished stainless!).We'll see how it holds up, but so far, this pan works brilliantly for all my giant skillet needs.The Woll Diamond Plus 12 1/2 Fry pan Amazon picture shows a lid.

Of course, almost every non-stick pan works at first.I've only had this for a few months but I love it so far.The nonstick works really really well, it seems to be pretty durable against metal utinsils, doesn't have PFOA chemical to bond the nonstick to the pan and cooks so nice and evenly.I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 though for the price.It's pretty steep in price.Want Woll Diamond Plus 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan Discount?
When we bought this pan the salesperson promised us the moon, stars and eternal life.They lied.
The diamond coating is under the non stick surface to help bond it, but the nonstick coating is still a fragilesurface that does not hold up in
daily use. Our's didn't.
The pan was great while it lasted, so good that 3 months later we decided to buy an entire set of pans from Woll.
The first pan we bought while traveling, the rest online.
At 6 months the nonstick coating began to fail on the pan we used daily.At 12 months it looked like something purchased at Walmart in the markdown bin.
Not what you expect for over $100
The pans we don't use at all look great. If you must own these,
plan on replacing them out of pocket frequently if you use them.If you want that long life expectancy promised by the salesman. I suggest that you don't use them.
Not using the pan should prolong the life of the non stick finish indefinitely.Sorry about the sarcasm but I'm really disappointed in both Woll and the pan.
I tried contacting Woll several times to try and get instructions on how to warranty the pan but have never received a reply.

It's been six months since my last attempt at warrantying the 12 1/2 fry pan.That's long enough to wait for a return email.
I'm sure not providing a way for someone to return their products for warranty saves the corporation a lot of money but it

I've gone to local shops selling Woll products and they have refused to honor the warranty for us because we did not purchase our pans there.

I bought this griddle for pancakes, grilled cheese, and the occasional hibachi-style Asian meal for my growing family.Overall, I think it's a solid choice for such tasks.It transfers and holds heat well, as cast iron typically will.The manufacturer's shipping department, however, proved unreliable to say the least.The first one we received was cracked due to insufficient packaging, and then they replaced it with the wrong product, and finally, almost a month after ordering it, a new one was delivered intact.I hope this experience is not typical, and the customer service rep was personally helpful.
The griddle is pretty well constructed, though I noticed that the flat side was not as flat as it should have been.It looked as if the ridges on the other side had caused a few undulations in the surface.It's not severe enough to really affect day-to-day use so far, but don't expect a plate-glass-flat surface.
I use this griddle on top of my 5-burner gas stove, and I can run all five burners under it for a full cooking surface.Or I can turn on two or three burners and reserve a space for keeping food warm.Be advised that there will still be some cooler spots between the burners, even with all of them going.If you insist on very even heat across the whole surface, you might be happier with a high-end electric griddle.That said, cast iron heats more evenly over a burner than most other cookware made of other materials, and you can learn to utilize the cooler spaces for slower cooking.
Anyone considering buying this product should think carefully about the product specs.The usable cooking surface is 23"X13", which is big.But be sure it will fit on your intended heat source.It may not sit securely on some stovetops.And yes, it really does weigh 25 lbs.Suffice to say, cleaning it can be a challenge.I usually scrape it thoroughly with a nylon scraper or spatula while it's still warm, and wash it down with hot, soapy water while it's still on the stovetop but has cooled somewhat.Then I heave it over to the sink to rinse it off with the sprayer.I return it to the stovetop to dry it over low heat.Or you can use a paper towel to dry it.I really like cooking on cast iron, so I think this extra trouble is worth it.
The griddle comes with a handy bag for storage, though the zipper broke almost immediately.And finding storage space for something this size can be interesting.It fits in one of our cabinets, but barely.The included instructions suggest seasoning the griddle before using.That's a nice idea, but it doesn't fit in my oven, and because seasoning produces a lot of smoke, I'm not about to do this on the stovetop.Fortunately, a well-cared-for cast iron surface will eventually build up a very nicely seasoned surface. Finally, although this feels very durable, be aware that any cast iron can crack or shatter if dropped on a hard surface, so handle it carefully when moving it.

Although this griddle can cook a pound of bacon at a time, it has a major design flaw. The manufacturer did not temper this capacious slab of cast iron.So while enjoying the normal popping and splattering noises of bacon being rendering into luscious breakfast meat, I suddenly heard an explosion. Someone had fired a 50-caliber round into my kitchen at short range! Ok, no. It was just my new griddle. It had cracked right down the middle. Cast iron items must be "tempered" at the factory post-casting. This object probably was not. I can't recommend it, because the resulting crack lets cooking grease drip right over the burners.

It was larger and heavier than I expected, so great quality. That also makes it hard to wash, but I am absolutely happy with my purchase.I actually use it on top of my stove and grills excellent. I can make anything from Waffle House style pancakes and hash browns, to the best grilled chicken perfect for a panini sandwich.

The box and the manufacturer's web site claim to be "America's Finest Cookware Brand". Unfortunately the pan sports a Chinese birth certificate on its bottom. This may account for my initial bad experience. I ordered this saute pan wanting to try a stainless clad instead of a non-stick. I grew up with copper clad Revereware and don't remember clean up being a big issue. This seemed like a very good candidate having good reviews and a very reasonable price. I received the pan in perfect condition, read the printed material provided, was mindful to pre-heat and not to over heat. After the first use, before attempting to clean, I noticed the pan wobbling on my smooth surface range. It warped after the first use. With the aid of Amazon's stellar customer service, I decided to try another one before resorting to a pricier alternative. The second one has been excellent! My theory is there may be consistency issues due to the Chinese heritage.Just love this pan. I generally cook on non-stick, but I wanted a stainless pan for when I use cooking spray. This is a nice large one, very well-made and just gorgeous. I have used it a few times per week since getting it about a month ago, and it seems like it will last a long time, as it's still as good as new. I can't think of anything negative to say about this pan form my standpoint, particularly for the great price.
A few notes for others, however:
It is heavy, which should be expected with high quality stainless steel. This might make it hard to clean for those with little arm strength, but not a problem for me.
I hand wash my pots and pans, so do not know how it would handle in a dishwasher.
If you prefer a clear top, then look elsewhere. But for stainless, I think it makes sense to have a metal top as well.

Poor product Poor customer service Would not buy again for half the priceWarning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.
I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it.I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set.I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months since purchase.I had a new representative that made it sound like the guy I was speaking to previously did a poor job and was let go, which he was very rude. She stated they needed to find my files and reopen the review of my pan.She advised me to send the pan in so the warranty dept. could look at the pan. I had to pay shipping both ways but I figured they would at least get my pan back into good condition.Berghoff never called or emailed that they had my pan even though I sent a letter with the pan. After waiting a month I decided to email and see if they received the pan. The last customer service rep I had was now gone and I had a new one again. She had to find the pan again and pull up the files. After a reply from the newest customer service rep she stated that my pan was not covered under warranty.WHAT?
She explained that due to the color of the bottom of the pan I had overheated the pan and that the warranty was now void. I the dirt she cleaned on the bottom of my pan was on all our pans we had. We have a glass top range that we cool all our meals on. It does get dirty at times. I simply took a nylon scrubber to clean one of the other pans I had just to see how hard it was.I emailed back stating that her suggestion was not the case and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor.Three weeks later still no response.I called and was directed to the same person I was dealing with my emails.She said she brought the pan to her supervisor and stated that she agreed while refusing to allow me to speak to her supervisor.
The facts: Not once did I ever cook with the pan over ½ heat on my range top. I primarily cooked eggs, sausage, warmed up veggies, and cooked some fish. Mind you that I only used the pan 1 month.I hand washed it after every use. At first everything would slide out of the pan. The pan got to the point where I had to scrape it each time after use and then let it sit in soap water. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE!
Due to the numerous customer service representatives, poor service, and average pans I would never recommend anyone buy from this company. They did offer me a deal though, 50% off their retail of a new pan.That was almost the same price I could buy it off of amazon.com.

Amazon, themselves, were wonderful. They provided shipping back to their facility and send out another identical product in it's place at no additional charge to myself.
The second arrived unscathed. On the second run of making quesadillas; we hear a loud shatter type sound. The unit must of had a weak spot and caused a 4 inch long crack from edge inward toward center of unit rendering it useless.
In the end; the unit is not to par and I recommendLodge Pro Logic Pizza Pan which serves same as griddle (no grill side(obviously)). Worth itThis is a nice griddle. All surfaces are smooth and it cooks nicely. I had one disappointment and it has to do with packaging for shipment. The griddle arrived in a fairly lightweight, very skimpy box and as a result a 2 inch piece of the rim was broken off in shipment.

It is heavy and it takes 10 minutes to heat up, but it produces very nice grill marks and that mass provides even heat.I preheat the grill on high on the stovetop for steaks, and preheat the oven at the same time to about 300.Brown the steaks quickly once the griddle is hot, then place in oven to finish unless you prefer rare.Nice grill marks, and the griddle is easy to pick up (but hot and heavy and you need good mitts) when the grill side is up.However, when the grill side is down (the smooth side is up) this griddle is darn hard to lift off the stove top because the handles are flush with the stove top if you have a glass top stove.I have to slide a thin spatula under the edge to pry it up enough to lift it off the stove top.This is a tricky task especially if the griddle is hot.

I can understand the previous not-so-favorable reviews, however I did not have a hard time conditioning the pan or keeping it up. The only time it got funky was after I left it outside, my own fault completely. I can say though that regardless of the time it spent outside it was fine after a little TLC.
To get to the point... this pan rocks. Im a 36yo guy living in downtown Chicago that takes advantage of the best steak restaurants in the city. Id like to think I have a fairly sound opinion on the bone in ribeye. This little grill pan when used the right way works flawlessly. The trick on steaks is the initial sear, youve got to slap them down on something well treated, and ridiculously hot. Resting this pan above a charcoal (gotta be briquettes) filled smoker base will get this thing glowing pink. Depending on the thickness of the steak (4-5min for 1.5" thick) is the time it needs to stay on to reach a perfect sear. Pull em off, let sit for the amount of time it takes to knock back a High Life and youre good to go.

Happy I got this one. Its a nice size too. It did take a while to get it seasoned but worth the wait. As for shipping mine came just fine.I like the fact you can grill on one side like steaks and use the other side for pancakes ect...NICE for home or camping.

1. The finish does wear off on the inside,and chips on the edges.
2. It got slightly mishapen during shipping.
3. The metallic finish looks cheap. It is cheap, plastic coated metallic paint. It ruins what would basically be an elegant design. Really not classy, gross in fact. To be clear, I keep this hidden from view with guests around.
4. The handle is made of cheap bakelite plastic. If you heat it up, it will begin to smoke it will smell like, burnt plastic and death.
Pro
1. Stuff really does not stick to the sides. And I guess it is not toxic.
2. having a white backdrop to your cooking is interesting.
3. there are no Rivets connecting the handle to the inside of the cooking.
3. There are few other options on the market.
Bialetti, please put a bit more effort into using higher quality materials for the handle, edges and finishes.

I got the 2qt saucepan, the 10 1/4" frying pan and the 8" frying pan. So far they are all wonderful! The heat is very evenly distributed. I have used the saucepan to brown ground turkey & onions, for spaghetti sauce, heating up vegetables, and other things, and so far everything cleans up easily. Pot works well, but lots of small chips are missing on the inside texture after 1 month.The places it chips is usually right over a metal imperfection.Like an air pocket in the metal.I know it isn't chipping as I wash it because I do it by hand only so that means some sort of ceramic chips are making it into my food..
Kinda scary...
Other than that, it's been OK the last 2 months since I bought it..But I am really turned off about ceramic chips in my kids meals

It's really too bad that it's started to chip like this.I was going to buy a cast iron pan (there are two brands here on Amazon) but was not pleased with the reviews.I use this pan almost every day for soup at lunchtime and veggies at dinner.It has to be sturdy but light enough for me to handle.

I did read one bad review about the chemical DEHP being in the non-stick coating, but I have not been able to verify the claims made by the reviewer, including the fact that she said there was a warning label on the pan stating that the nonstick coating contains DEHP and to "use at your own risk."Trust me, I really tried.The reason I'm replacing my teflon is that they leech highly toxic gases when more than medium heat is applied to them.The EPA has a scheduled ban on teflon in cookware to begin in 2015, unless the industry can figure out a way to keep it from breaking down under heat.Ceramic coated cookware appears to be the post-teflon future.
Because of my experience with the 11-incher, I purchased the 8-inch omelette pan and the 13-inch wok.They appear tohave a slightly different finish and design, but they are essentially identical in performance.My 11-incher has the trademark "Joy Cook" on the bottom and a completely black handle.The other pans have "KW" on the bottom and a chrome insert on the handle.Although I purchased them all through Amazon, my 11-incher (Joy Cook)was from M.V. Trading Company, and all the others(KW)were from SmartDeals411.
I'm not a professional cook.I'm just a single guy that wants stuff that works well and is easily maintained.Unlike most ceramic coated cookware, these are completely coated, inside and out, making clean up easier than any other pan I have ever used.I have been using this skillet for a couple of weeks now. Everything that I have cooked in this pan has caused sticking problems in my well seasoned cast iron, none of it has even come close to sticking in this skillet. The pan is very well made and the cover fits perfict. Eggs slide right out and clean up was easy, perfict for me. The only problem it takes long to come, Amazon is usualy very fast.
