Neoflam Cast Aluminum Ceramic Coating Fry Pan 11"/28cm

Neoflam Cast Aluminum Ceramic Coating Fry Pan 11'/28cmI found this at my local Asian grocer. I thought it was cheap too at 24 dollars. If you go to the company's website, they have videos of the pan cooking an egg without any oil. I had to test this myself, and I was surprised that I was able to cook an egg without oil (over easy and no mess), though, the white has to cook all the way before the egg can start sliding around with ease.

For such a great pan, I can't believe that I can't find it anywhere to buy. There are some on Ebay but the sellers are overcharging it by a lot. I tried sending an email to the company asking where I can buy it, as Amazon doesn't seem to sell any, nor any other major online retailer.

I thought these seemed a little overpriced until I used it.It stands up to almost anything and always, always cleans up with a paper towel. It is really the BEST I have ever used or seen.

I cook a lot and this was a true treasure find.

Neoflam is a Korean MFG. who's CEO acknowledged on their Facebook page, that they did not know that using heavy metals like Cadmium and Lead to enhance the shine of thecolor exterior could cause some health issues.

Neoflam makes many types of cookware othen than Fry Pan

Many counties do not have government regulation on materials used on exterior coatings.

I did purchase on my Int'l travel ceramic coated pan made by another MFG.

Cuisinart GG33-30H GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and

Cuisinart GG33-30H GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and CoverThe non-stick surface of this pan is great and it looks like the construction is excellent too. The only problem I have is that the pan warps very slightly when heated which makes it rock on a flat top electric stove. It would be perfect for a gas stove or a stove with electric coils, but not a glass/ceramic flat top. I sent the first pan back because of this and the second one seemed better, but still warps enough to rock slightly. I use it at the lowest heat I can to try to minimize this effect. Too bad I have two flat top stoves.

This cookware does the job providing even heat throughout your cooking process. The surface is super slick but gives you a nice foundation for searing, braising and pan frying and lends itself to a variety of sauce making applications. A simply pan reduction sauce is a snap and cleanup is a breeze, with paper towel no less. The nicest features are the stay cool recycled stainless steel handle mirrored with the ability to finish your meal preparation in the oven or broiler.

The deep rich browning created by this pan is uniform and flavorful.Don't let the competition sway you, cooking till black is not the new brown! So, if you are going green, get this cookware, it's certainly your next step!If you wish to look at one up close and feel the quality for yourself then head on over to your nearest Le Gourmet Chef outlet store, you will not be disappointed.

I recently prepared Chicken Marsala utilizing this pan and a Simply Calphalon Saute Pan.Both pans performed well but the golden brown searing and coloration was more developed in the Cuisinart pan.I also was able to adjust the gas at a lower flame under the Cuisinart pan.The Calphalon pan was searing at 8 out of 10 on the cook-top range whereas the Cuisinart pan was searing at 4 out of 10. The fond left on the pan from the searing in the Cuisinart pan was also more developed and added to the Marsala recipe quite nicely.

I will post a comment and update the link when I test the new Calphalon Unison searing pan against the Cuisinart GreenGourmet Saute pan.

Buy Cuisinart GG33-30H GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and Now

I bought this pan after owning the Cuisinart GreenGourmet 12 inch skillet (Hard Anodized). I used to use stainless steel only and was very apprehensive about any non-stick surface, especially after the news of health concerns linked to Tephlon coated pans. I received my first Cuisinart GreenGourmet pan from a friend who wanted to convert me to a non-stick pan user. After learning about the safety of hard-anodized and ceramica, I became comfortable using this pan. It very quickly became my favorie pan. I added this 5.5 Quart Saute pan to my collection and it functions as my work horse for those larger quantity recipies such as chili. The pan is not only BEAUTIFUL, it is quite versatile.I have used it for a variety of applications from stove, to high broiler, to flambe. It does it all. It is oven and broiler safe. The ceramica finish is easy to clean and is heats up quickly and evenly. As per the instructions, I have never had to turn the stove past medium/high, even to boil water in this pan ... yes boil water. The cooking area is great for making noodles, especially lasagna noodles without having to break them to fit into the pot. This pan also comes with a lid that can be used on the Cuisinart 12-inch Skillet (which does not come with a lid).

Amazon offers a VERY good price for the GreenGourmet line. The GreenGourmet line is hard to find (Target, Walmart don't carry them). Bed Bath and Beyond charges full price, and even with a coupon you are not getting it for the everyday price offered by Amazon. A real bargain.

Thanks for reading :-)

As with most Cuisinart products, this pan is outstanding. When compared to products of similar quality (AllClad, etc) this pan is quite affordable, and somewhat better to use. Its heat distribution is superb & uses lower temperatures, its non-stick surface is excellent & durable, its stovetop-to-oven feature is as good as any ordinary pan BETTER actually, since it is a non-stick. The cover fits quite well and seals in moisture & heat. Its rounded lip allows pouring more neatly & more quickly than other high end lines a very welcomed feature, as is the helper handle which not all pans of this size have. As an extremely active amateur chef and avid foodie, I cook a GREAT deal and the Cuisinart GreenGourmet line this pan in particular has become the principal cooking implement in our kitchen. The additional health safety features are a plus which must not be overlooked.

Revere Polished Aluminum 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet

Revere Polished Aluminum 12-Inch Nonstick SkilletI had a 12-inch T-Fal skillet that was wearing out (was no longer sitting even on the stove, and the teflon was flaking) so decided to purchase a 12-inch Revere Ware skillet.I used Revere Ware skillets a number of years ago and found them to be of high quality. Not any more. When I received the 12-inch skillet I found that instead of perfectly round, it protruded towards the back where the handle attaches. Thus, any lids for 12-inch skillets would not fit. This is a quality control problem, as it was definitely not designed in, based on the unevenness of the protrusion. It was so obvious that I'm wondering if there is quality control done on these. Also the handle did not fit tight but jiggled a bit.On the plus side it is lightweight and it appears to have a good coating of teflon. One surprise is my old Revere Ware skillets were made in the USA.As one might have guessed, these were made in China.Somehow I figured that a skillet having Paul Revere's image on the bottom, along with the year "1801" might still be made in the USA.

I ordered this skillet even with the mixed reviews because I loved the previous one I have had for more than 10 years. This one is definitely not going to last that long. After one dinner use, the handle is already loose. It feels very flimsy compared to my old one.I will use it until it falls apart but I won't be replacing it with another one. This was such a disappointment.I just hope the teflon coating is not going to come apart as quickly as the handle. The teflon coating was the problem with my old one & I had to replace it.I am not getting any more w/teflon coatings & am sticking with the ss versions.

I received this as a Christmas gift along with the 12" lid.It was my first really decent skillet, so I didn't know what to expect, but it has really fared well in my kitchen.I make 1 dish meals for two, chicken parmesean, pancakes, anything really and clean up couldn't be easier. My one complaint is that it doesn't always cook evenly, so I'm constantly rotating. You don't need high temps to get quick results. As for the lid, the handle broke off shortly after getting it, so unfortunately, I need to buy a new one (which seems a little overpriced if you ask me!)But the price for this pan is worth what you get, a more-than-decent skillet for those "just starting off".

I got this pan hearing that RevereWare was a good brand. When I brought it back home to try out, the pan had warped within just a few weeks of using it.After doing a little more research, it seems that RevereWare products USED to be high quality but not really anymore.

I would not recommend this pan to anyone looking to get one.

Revereware used to be really good, now it's made in China and the quality is terrible. This pan was so out of round that my lid would not fit on it. And the aluminum was so thin and cheap. Just a lousy pan all the way around. I promptly sent it back. I gotgreat pan at TJ Max for $25. Amazon shouldn't even sell crappy merchandise like this.

Farberware Classic 17-Piece Cookware Set

Farberware Classic 17-Piece Cookware SetI had put these on my wish list as a future splurge and was surprised and pleased when my hubbie bought them for me for my birthday last month! (LOVE that other folks can see my wish list!)I have owned Farberware before, but, only one or two pans...after twenty years or so, a handle had loosened, a pan lid was missing, etc. but they were still going strong!I don't think you can get a better quality of cookware at this price!(I had looked at other brands of aluminum clad stainless steel cookware and found they were HUNDREDS of dollars!)I have a ceramic cooktop and have found that many of the pots and pans I've tried have warped immediately and were instantly useless on the ceramic top (where things have to be perfectly flat to work). Not so with these pots and pans! They stay flat and heat up quickly. This set has a nice variety of sizes (my only complaint is that it doesn't contain a 6 quart stock pot). The lids fit well and the pots and pans have wonderful rings on the handles that allow hanging on any pot rack! The skillets are small, but, really good (the non-stick surface is thick and the pans heat up well and clean up easily). The set also came with three stainless bowls with plastic covers (perfect for chilling cookie dough), also with rings for hanging.I am pleasantly surprised as well by the baking pan.I usually use glass, but, my lemon bars baked up very nicely in this pan.The cookie sheet, though extremely small, is also impressive. It doesn't warp under high heat and I have used it for making garlic toast and as a pan under pies and breads with no problem. In fact, I plan to put Farberware cookie sheets on my wish list next!If you a looking to replace pots and pans, or, want to give someone you love a much appreciated gift that will last for years and years, I recommend this wonderful set!

Seems to be a good product but we do have a older set and the new set is not as well made as the older set. The metal is thinner , the lids are cheaply made and the handles are just plain plastic. Time will tell if they will hold up or not. The old set needs a couple of handles replaced and I was informed by Farberware that there no longer are handles available for the old set and when I inquired about handles for the new set I was told there are not any replacement handles available. Am already disappointed as I know the handles on the new set will not hold up well.

Just like Grandma used to have!

Yes these pots and pans have been slightly updated from their older version, but they still function and clean up just as well. I purchased these because my Grandmother had a set of them my whole life and they were always dependable, and seemingly indestructible. I say indestructible because I have managed to destroy many non stick pots: scratching the coat off and melting the coat of non stick yuckynessand that literally stinks horribly and ruins the meal and the pot! The Farberware pots and pans are heavy duty, stainless steel, and best of allthere's no non stick coating on the pots to ruin if you leave your beans unattended (in my case cleaning house) with the fire up a tad too high. The lids are not glass, they are also stainless steel. So no dropping lids and stressing the glass which in turn eventually break. These stainless steel lids sit nicely on the pots, the bell shape keeps the moisture in the pot and when the lid is removed the bell shape actually helps with not dripping the condensation on the lid all over the stove.

This Farberware Classic Stainless Steel set is perfect for any cook of any age. For young cooks who are learning, for cooks who try to fold the laundry while the beans have 2 minutes left, for cooks who are a little clumsy and drop their kitchenware, and even the older much more experienced cooks who just want a good high quality classic cookware set. Regardless of the age or expertise, this set is hands down the best that is out there for anyone! And I must addI searched everywhere including macy's, sears, walmart, target, and tons of places online. This was the only set I ever saw that was a great brand, that had stainless steel lids, and sturdy design. After moving out on my own I have ruined 3 sets of nonstick pots. I laugh now because now that I have this set, it will never happen again. The Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 17-Piece Cookware Set is the best cookware set on the market today!

This is a great thing to have. With a chestnut tree a few blocks away, it's quite nice to have the option of roasting them the old fashioned way (and with some novello). With the long handle, you can use it over a real open fire or you can use it on a stovetop or grill, although you'll have to prop up the handle in that case.

It's a great pan looks nice and of good quality.

The only thing I don't completely love is the handle.Although strong enough, it is long and thin and I just don't like how it looks as much as the rest of the pan. It's sort of shiny black with some lighter spots.Really not a deal breaker, but I'm just pointing it out. Now, what would really be awesome is if it had an easily interchangeable short handle so you could really use this perfectly on any occasion. But it is riveted on very sturdily (which is a positive under most circumstances).

Magefesa Delicia Non Stick Stainless Steel Fry Pan

Magefesa Delicia 8-Inch Non Stick Stainless Steel Fry PanWe have a bed and breakfast, so good quality cooking tools is very important to us. We bought this pan last year, only one because that is all they had at the time. We liked it so much for making our omelets that we decided to replace our other pans with two more if this one. Sadly, when we received these, and have since used them, we were very disappointed with their change in quality. The metal is thinner and the handle is different. The nonstick surface is different as well. They are a much lower grade of product then before.

I cook mostly on a INDUCTION stove and have tried a couple of Stainless Steal non stick fry pans and had a hard time getting even cooking. I tried the 10" Magefesa Pan and am delighted. It is made in Spain and has that European quality.

Lodge Deep Skillet with Glass Lid

Lodge Deep L8DSKG3 Skillet with Glass Lid, Black, 3-QuartThis is a useful pan, especially for stir-frys.

The 5qt deep skillet, which is the same diameter as a Lodge 12" fry pan, where the lid meets the pan; when heated holds the heat like no other piece of cookware you've ever used. Before we became as health conscious as we are today, this pan was sold as a "chicken fryer".Indeed, someday, Im going to use this pan to fry some chicken or fish.Think of this pan as the pan that is taller than a skillet, but shorter than your dutch oven.

Lodge used to sell this with a cast iron lid (beter for braising, but the "look inside" feature of the glass lids is nice).

A major problem with making stir-fry at home is that residential stoves don't have put out enough heat energy (BTU's) to adequately heat a carbon steel wok enough to hit the stir-fry with enough heat to do the "fry" part of stir-fry.Instead the addition of each ingredient cools the temperature of the wok down to where it more steams the food instead of flash frying it.

When making a classic stir-fry, the addition of each batch of meat/fish/tofu and vegetables does little to cool off the blazing heat that this pan holds.(be sure to use your potholders)

Like all Lodge cast iron, it comes pre-seasoned, and needs to be stored absolutely dry.I lightly heat mine on a stove burner for a few minutes after washing to be absolutely sure. This pan will last so long, that you'll be handing it down to your children.

This was the widest deep cast iron skillet that I could find. I really like it. I am glad that I purchased it.

Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric SkilletI was a little nervous when I bought this skillet, since at the time there were no product reviews on it, but I was desperate, and since I had had good luck with other Cuisinart products, I took the chance.Am I glad I did!We were just beginning a major kitchen remodel, which meant that for at least two months I would have to improvise cooking facilities for 5 adults and a grandchild. This skillet has been a real workhorse for me, and a genuine lifesaver (and budget-saver) during the remodel. Its cost was no more than 2 dinners for my family at a moderate-cost restaurant, and I saved that much the first week by cooking those dinners at home in this skillet instead. Its large capacity makes it extremely versatile.I've used it to fry chicken, make one-pan dinners, cook bacon and eggs, frozen blintzes, pot roast, stir-fry meals, you name it. It makes a beautiful risotto, and I've even used it to cook corn on the cob and boil potatoes.Everything came out exactly as I'd hoped, or better. I am especially happy with the Cuisinart's solid, sturdy base that won't let the skillet tip over and endanger the cook (or the curious grandchild).I also love the sturdy nonstick surface, which after two months of frequent use is still like new, in contrast to some nonstick pans I've had where the coating scratches or wore off so quickly that by the 3rd or 4th use the food had to be chipped out.The temperature control responds very quickly, too. You can certainly buy a cheaper electric skillet, but if you use it frequently, a cheap pan will be trash in a short time and you may not be happy with the way it performs in that short lifetime. This Cuisinart is worth every penny, and I expect to be using mine for a long, long time.

I have owned this electric skillet for several months. This is my first electric skillet. I know, shocking, after 25 years of marriage! I love this skillet, and can not believe I did not purchase one sooner. I have done eggs with cheese, fajita's, sausage, etc. Nothing has stuck! The meat browns nicely, the eggs don't stick, everything cooks evenly and as it should.

Best of all, clean up is a breeze!I know the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven't even been tempted. A little dish soap, a little water and a swish with a dishcloth, rinse and dry and the clean up is done!

I wouldn't trade it.

*Update: I have now had this skillet for about 1 year. It still cooks great and cleans as easy as it did new. non-stick finish has been very durable, and the unite heats up nicely. It is nice and large so you can cook up a large amount of food at one time. This is nice when you are cooking for several people. When it is just me and my husband, I can cook the sausage and pancakes at the same time, then I only have one cleanup!

I do at times wish the cooking surface was more level. It seems to be a little lower around the edges. I assume that is on purpose to allow grease to drain.

Buy Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet Now

I have only had my Cuisinart Electric Skillet for approx. two weeks, but have used it almost every day since receiving it! I love it! Very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it.I have fried chicken twice in it, and it did a wonderful job of it. The chicken fried evenly and got very brown and crusty but no burning. I have fried pork chops in it, and it was the same, cooked perfectly. I have found it fries bacon much better and more evenly than trying to do it on my stove and so much easier to clean up because it doesn't spatter as badly as cooking in a more shallow skillet. Plus, my stove top is smooth glass and frying on it is always messy and causes the grease to burn onto it and then has to be cleaned with special glasstop cleanser, so I don't make a mess on my stove when I use the skillet. I cooked hamburgers in it yesterday and they were delicious, browned on the outside but juicy inside. The best I have cooked in a long time. I cannot praise this skillet enough!I have been searching for a 16-in. electric skillet for the past year but every one that I would find listed on Amazon (which is the same selection, or even better selection) than I would find in a local department store, and as I always read customer reviews before I buy (I feel this is the best way to find out about any product before actually buying and using it, from people who have it and have used it) they all had some bad features, either in the design or workmanship, and in the case of Rival, not good customer service. So I stayed away from every brand that I read about for the 16 in. elec. skillets. Then, just recently, I was checking out the food network website and noticed this oval shaped one by Cuisinart that they offered, and though the price was the same as on amazon, I went with amazon because of the free shipping. I was also hoping that amazon would have a few customer reviews for me to read so I could see how others either liked or disliked the skillet, but alas, there were none!I guess it is too new yet to have many customer reviews. Though it is not quite the 16 inches that I was looking for, the 15"X12" size has proven to be just as good, it easily holds a whole chicken without crowding. The one inch differenc wasn't enough to stop me from buying it.I knew Cuisinart was a very good brand, so I trusted the name, and took a chance and I am so happy that I did.It is pure joy to cook in this skillet. I haven't even put it away since I have had it, as I use it almost every day, I just keep it sitting on the end of my counter in the kitchen, where I use it.The only criticism I could offer is the shortness of the cord, but I have found this is true with every electric skillet that I have looked at, and was true with my old one that I gave my daughter when I purchased this one.It seems you can't wear electric skillets out, as I had that one for about 25 years! But back to the short cord. I think it is a safety feature so that you won't get caught in the electric cord and pull the skillet off the counter or table and cause burns to yourself or damage the skillet. And thankfully, the cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the down-side of my counter top without having to use an extension. If I used it close to a wall with a wall socket, it would reach even better. But since I don't have a lot of counter space and the counter top range takes up so much of my space, it is more convenient for me to have it at the end of the counter top. And it is worth every penny of the hundred dollar price!I highly recommend it.

I picked this out as a gift based on all of the positive reviews. The first unit arrived and looked OK at a glance.Upon closer inspection, I found some scratches on the exterior and weird spots in the non-stick surface. When I flipped the unit over, I found all of the model information is imprinted into the metal surface; including a serial number. That serial number had been covered up with a black mark and a second serial number has been printed below in black type.I confirmed with Cuisinart customer service that this indicates that the unit has been refurbished.

My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller).Amazon customer service quickly created a new order for another unit at no charge to me and provided me with postage to return the refurb unit.I was assured that the replacement unit would be new.A week later, the replacement arrived and it also has 2 serial numbers and even worse defects in the non-stick coating (rough spots).I am now returning for a refund.Buyer beware.Check your serial number!

During my 30 plus years of marriage, I have owned at least 5 electric skillets. When the last one broke, I decided to do some research and bought the Cuisinart 150. I was skeptical about the oval shape since all my others were rectanglar and I felt that those extra corners meant more room. However, the shape does not matter. In fact, since most foods are rounded, the oval is better. The Cuisinart 150 cooks evenly, there are no hot coil spots on my foods. It preheats quickly and cooks very quickly also. it also lies level on my counter which for some odd reason the others never did. I don't think I have ever been so happy with a kitchen appliance before. I use my skillet at least once a week, for chicken, eggplant or veal cutlets, as well as for beef stroganoff or other all-in-one-pan meals. I would give this product a perfect 10. It is worth the higher price because it is so well-built and does such a great job.

Farberware P08-033 fry & sauce pan handle, long.

Farberware P08-033 fry & sauce pan handle, long.I had been struggling with a cracked handle on my Farberware fry pan for years. Finally, I solved that problem. This handle fit perfectly and was easy to install just a screwdriver.

Oh, but no new screw came with the handle. I had to use the original screw that came with the pan when I bought it. So don't throw the old screw away with the broken part. Just a warning.

This handle works great. My installation was a breeze once I heated the pan on the stove.By doing so the handle receptacle expanded and allowed for a perfect fit.Start by threading the screw through the handle and into the sauce pan until the handle just starts for its way into the receptacle for the handle. Then heat the pan until hot, add a few more turns to the screw, and repeat this process until the handle is completely seated into place.

This is a great way to keep from replacing the entire pan, and at a quarter of the price as well.

Buy Farberware P08-033 fry & sauce pan handle, long. Now

Part does not fit into mating square of pan without filing all four sides of the handle. Also, the screw hole is so far off, the head of the screw does not clear the wall of the pocket. I had to redrill the hole and grind the head of the screw.

If you need to replace the screw, it is a #10-24 x 1-1/2" long. I used a button head hex socket drive as my replacement. I recommend stainless because it will be going into the dishwasher. The new screw fit well into the old (broken) handle, but as I mentioned, the head would not clear the handle's pocket without rework.

I hope this is a knock off and not a Farberware product. Either way it will give them a bad name.

UPDATE: I called Farberware to complain about the quality of the handle and to see if I could get a replacement. They informed me that while it is likely their product, they have not made this handle for two years. Online vendors are working through their existing stock. I did find out that my pan was, remarkably after 25 years, still under warranty. So, I do have the option to return the entire pan.

FYI The Farberware rep informed me this handle was designed to fit their products made from the mid-70's through the late 90's. She gave me the exact years, but I do not recall what they were at this point. Good Luck.

Calphalon 12-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.

Calphalon 12-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.I do a good bit of my cooking at high temp's to develop a crust on a hamburger, or a steak, to brown off a thin-cut pork chop before the center is overcooked and that sort of thing. That's tough on a true non-stick skillet and they just can't stand up to that kind of sustained heat. They typically wear out after about 6 months of my rather intense cooking.I decided to try one of the anodized aluminum skillets to see if it was a match for my style of cooking and am pretty happy with it.

This is NOT a "Non-stick" skillet, it is stick RESISTANT.Do NOT crack an egg into an un-oiled anodized aluminum pan unless you want to explore it's scrubber-friendly hardness. The egg will stick like white on Mitt Romney!

However, if you want to develop a fonde on the bottom of your skillet while searing a steak so you can deglaze it with a splash of red wine, this is the pan for you.If you want to saute' a stir-fry dish, this is a good pan.It excels at high temperature cooking, though you should have good ventilation when doing so as the aluminum is said to give off harmful vapors.I have a good vent fan that exhausts to the outside so I'm not sweating it.

The pan is VERY scrubbable and you can use a stainless steel scrubbing pad without worry. You can use metal utensils like spatulas and spoons and not worry about scratching the surface. You can use a two-pronged meat fork to stab into a steak when flipping it and not cringe because you will NOT hurt this surface. It's harder than stainless steel!

I bought one about 10 years ago and we are using it in our travel trailer so I am buying this one for the house.I HAVE, recommended it to friends.

I have been buying the Calphalon non-stick for years but decided to try this one.Really didn't realize that it wasn't non-stick.It definitely isn't.Bacon sticks, eggs, ever thing. It can't be wiped clean. Can't be washed clean has to be scrubbed.I do like the size and the fact that the bottom is much flatter. But next time I will go back to the non-stick.

Buy Calphalon 12-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan. Now

I had this pan for about 25 years and used it to make a variety of meals. I have other very old commercial hard-anodized Calphalon pans, including a stockpot, two saucepans and a tiny skillet. They have all performed excellently and held up well. But the 12-in. Calphalon is the favorite of all my pans (including some from other manufacturers).

It warped, although I followed the care directions throughout the years. I don't think the warp was my fault or a manufacturing defect on Calphalon's part. I don't blame the pan. You should have seen the old cooktop I was using it on. I didn't even realize it was warped until the recent installation of a new flat-glass cooktop.

I still had the instructions but not the receipt. To Calphalon's credit, they replaced it with a brand new one. The quality seems just as good as the older one, and looking at the price on Amazon, I think I paid about the same in non-inflation-adjusted dollars for it way back then. It's an investment, but one I've never regretted. Although Calphalon was very gracious in replacing the pan since I didn't save the receipt, save yours if you choose to invest in this quality cookware. You never know if you might need it after 25 great years of cooking!

I purchased this to replace an identical one that is used daily. It is now 13, and my son took it home to use.

After many years of using non-stick cookware that always seemed too thin (including various calphalon pans), I decided to try one that wasn't non-stick. Most of my pans have warped no matter how careful I am, so cooking on a glass-top stove means they don't heat as evenly as they originally did. This pan is thick so I hope it won't warp. I used it to fry some lightly breaded chicken in a thin layer of olive oil. Turned out perfect and crispy. I then made an omelet with a little olive oil and it cooked nicer than any of my other pans had. Based on tips from other reviewers,I did use a slightly lower heat than I normally would have, which was very good advice.

Paula Deen 5 Quart Porcelain Covered Deep Saute Pans

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 5-Quart Covered Deep Saute Pan, Red SpeckleVery nice pan good quality, much better than the Walmart brand of Paula Deen. The Paula Deen at Walmart is cheaper made the handles are weaker because they are flat.this one and the set I bought at JC Penny have two ribs on the handle to make it stronger also these have rings to hang them if you want to,Walmart brand does not. This pan cooks evenly and fast my wife really loves this cookware she has the whole set now and is very happy with the way they cook and the way she can hang them up out of the way. They also look very nice hanging in the kitchen.I think anyone would be happy with this cookware, but I would not buy the Walmart brand of Paula Deen pay the extra few dollars and get the ones with the better and stronger handles. Thanks Amazon for good service and product.

I loved this pan, at first. It is a great size, great color, great weight, wonderful lid and has even heat distribution. My love quickly faded after I've had the pan less then six months and the bottom non stick coating is flaking off into food.I have only ever used the special blue sponges to clean it and have never used metal tools to stir or scoop anything off the bottom.I have no idea why this would happen so fast. I'm so disappointed.I guess I will stay with paying the extra money for pans that have more staying power.

i was very iffy about buying new cookware because i know what i like and don't like.i saw the paula deen cookware in walmart but they didn't have what i wanted on shelf so i went home and purchased it online.i received my product very quickly but because it looked so beautiful, i was afraid to use it at first and it sat on the stove for decoration.I have since used it and am completely satisfied with the non stick surface, the perfectly even way it warms/cooks food, the rubber grips to lift the lid and pot are not hot, and it looks like the handle will not loosen itself like other pots i had.these pots and pans are beautiful to look at and absolutely dreamy to cook with.i love them.

This is a very nice pan that cooks well, however it is not dishwasher safe and not recommended for high heat. The non-stick surface works well and the pan is very stylish looking with the copper accented top.Unfortunately per the instructions the porcelain enamel-exterior it is not dishwasher safe and "excessive use of high heat will cause pan warping and permanent nonstick coating damage".Had I known these issues before hand I would not have purchased this pan. If your have no issues with hand washing this pan after each use and can be vigilant with temperature usage while cooking then I'm sure you will be very content with this product.

Deni 8230 12-Inch Indoor Circular Grill

Deni 8230 12-Inch Indoor Circular GrillI purchased this Deni Grill as a gift for my mother because she just had to have it and she just loves it.I tried the grill out for myself and now I love it.I have cooked chicken on the grill for my 8 year old daughter and she wants bbq chicken everyday because the meat turned out so juicy.I have had a George Foreman Grill and I was going to purchase another one until I tried the Deni not only does it cook well it has been so easy to clean (so far).I highly recommend this grill!!!I LOVE IT WELL WORTH IT!!!

I am 73 and have down-sized twice now in a small condo. The only thing I've really missed is grilling outdoors (not permitted here). I grilled for the first five nights straight after receiving the Deni 12inch grill. Loved everything I did, and clean-up was a snap, no matter what I cooked. I've done steak, veggies, salmon, burgers, etc. There's a neat little container on the side that catches grease. This little grill has satisfied a need for me; I love it! I have a photo of my first grilled meal, but I don't know how to get it on here!

I actually purchased this grill on one of the shopping networks.I was sceptical due to it's low price. When I received it I was surprised at how nice it really was.I use it in the middle of the table with just a few guests.Have small pieces of chicken, beef, shrimp and vegetables and everyone cooks their own food.I serve rice and various sauces and it is a fun dinner.

I purchased this one through Amazon for my niece as a gift as she enjoyed our dinner so much. I am thinking about purchasing more as gifts.

Earthchef Montane Frying Pan

BergHOFF Earthchef Montane Frying Pan, 10.25'The Berghoff seems well constructed. I have not tested it on a high technology stove, but it looks like it was built to work with one. In use it comes pretty close to Teflon in performance at Teflon's recommended operating temperatures, although just a little bit less non-stick than Teflon. So far it washes as easily as Teflon. The Berghoff can be used at temperatures that exceed Teflon's limits, although high heat may not be the best way to cook. There is no dedicated lid, although a Nordic Ware Restaurant 10 inch Brushed Stainless-Steel Lid fits pretty well. The bottom plate picks up some residue at high temp on my stove, but the exterior's durability seems confidence inspiring so far. Long term durability and functionality of the interior remains untested.

Pasted below is a mini-diary of some comparisons:

Stove is an ordinary, four-burner, electric coil stove.

2/1/12

Berghoff and Orgreenic treated with high-temp safflower oil, 25 minutes medium to medium-high heat.

2/2/12

Eggs, low-medium to medium heat.Light application of olive oil.

Cooking:All required a spatula to flip.

Farberware & Orgreenic tied.

Berghoff slightly more sticky with thin bits on egg clinging to pan.

Cleanup: Interiors of all easily cleaned up with soapy water and soft sponge, more easily than the nylon Good Cook spatula.

Exteriors: The ceramic pans show some persistent residue from the previous seasoning. The metal exterior bottom of the Berghoff looks a little better than the gray exterior bottom of the Orgreenic, which is showing a lot of little chips.

The metal bottom of the Farberware pan looks cleaner, probably because as a Teflon pan settings higher than medium are always avoided.

2/4/12

Eggs, cheddar cheese, sliced garlic, cayenne pepper. Between medium and medium-high heat. Light application of olive oil.

Pans rotated between burners to try to equalize cooking temperature.

Both required a spatula, but non-stick performance was about equally good for the Berghoff and Orgreenic. The Orgreenic seems to cook a little faster. The Farberware pan did not participate, because it is assumed it would probably be non-stick enough up to medium heat, but it should not be used above that setting.

Cleanup: Interiors of both easily cleaned up with soapy water and soft sponge. The gray exterior bottom of the Orgreenic is showing more wear.

2/5/12

I gave both pans another treatment with safflower oil, this time at high heat. My burners smoke, but the oil does not.

Light application of olive oil. Medium high setting. Farberware Teflon pan is excused from participating. Thin steak, no lids, add onions near end, add Salsa Brava. Orgreenic seems to cook a little faster again. Berghoff shows more stuck, cooked, meat juice residue.

Cleanup: Although the Berghoff looks a little uglier going into the sink, interiors of both equally easily cleaned up with soapy water and soft sponge.

Olive oil, potato slices (about ¼'thick), medium-high heat.Orgreenic seems to brown them faster than the Berghoff. Very non-stick with both pans.

2/9/12

Light application of olive oil. Medium high setting. Farberware Teflon pan is excused from participating. Thin pork loin, no lids. After meat removed, followed immediately by sliced potato. The Orgreenic seems to cook a little faster again, but it is producing more blackened residue, and it looks a little uglier than the Berghoff going into the sink. The Berghoff washes easily with soapy water and soft sponge. The Orgreenic mostly cleans well, but some traces of blackened residue are resistant. The rougher side of the sponge seems to clean it off okay.

I reseasoned both pans at medium high with canola oil. Unlike the other oils, this one does smoke, more so with the Orgreenic pan, and canola has a rather foul, fishy odor at that temperature. It also seems to cook up a little patch of previously unseen brownish residue on the Orgreenic pan. After cooling, an application of the rough side of the sponge and hot water seems to remove it.

2/10/12

Sitram Profiserie 9½-Inch Stainless Steel Lid has arrived from Amazon.

Gave both ceramic pans another treatment with safflower oil to help flush out any remaining canola oil.

Light application of olive oil. Medium setting. Frying pan lids. Sunnyside up eggs, one each, all three pans.

Both the Berghoff and the Orgreenic need a little bit of assistance from the spatula, but then slide easily. The Berghoffhas a little bit more residue. The egg is able to slide on the Teflon Farberware pan without the spatula.

Cleanup: Equally easy from this experiment. The Orgreenic is showing a tiny bit of persistent dark residue on the interior edge near the handle, probably from the previous experiment.

Exteriors, bottom: The Farberware shows hardly any wear or residue. Both ceramic pans show some persistent residue, possibly caused by higher temperature experiments. The Orgreenic's plain bottom with the same finish as the sides is showing a lot of little scrapes.

Measurements:

Farberware Nonstick Aluminum Egg Poacher (with poacher and lid removed) has outside diameter of the lid lip of about 7 7/8 inches, nearly vertical sides 391g

Telebrands (5827-6) 10" Orgreenic Frying Pan has outside diameter of about 10 inches, curved and sloped sides.665g

BergHOFF Earthchef 10.25" Montane Frying Pan has outside diameter of about 10 7/8 inches, curved and sloped sides. 973g

Lids: The Farberware has a dedicated glass lid.

The RSVP Stainless Steel Universal Lid-7 to 12 Inch sits flat enough on either ceramic pan, but on each the angled handle forces it to be off-center.

The Nordic Ware Restaurant 10 inch Brushed Stainless-Steel Lid fits well on the Berghoff, but the inner portion is too wide to sit well on the Orgreenic.

Sitram Profiserie 9.5-Inch Stainless Steel Lid fits the Orgreenic pan. Not perfectly, a little bit wobbly, but best so far for this pan. If they made a 9 inch lid, it would probably be just right.

I was quite happily making fried eggs with almost no oil just minutes after getting this pan. Nothing stuck, and the pan was quite easy to clean with just a wet sponge once it cooled down. Just as easy as any PTFE-based pan I've used in the past. The pan itself is well-designed, and it works perfectly on my induction cooktop. (The first non-PTFE non-stick pan I've found that DOES do this successfully!)

I've noticed that most of these non-PTFE pans get very good reviews at first, but often start breaking down within a few months. I'll be sure to edit my review after a while either way, to note whether the pan is failing or not, and adjust the rating if needed...

Apr 30, 2012 edit: I've had the pan for about 6 months now. The non-stick coating is holding up quite well, in my opinion, though it does seem to have degraded slightly since it was new. I've noticed that small bits of food will occasionally stick...but these just wipe off with a sponge.

My only complaint (as noted in the comments) is that the bottom does bulge a bit towards the center, so liquids pool around the edges somewhat...making it easier to burn things in the center if you're not attentive. I'm otherwise extremely happy with this pan, though!

Scan Pan used to be my go to pan but not any more. The Earth Chef pan is now my go to pan. It's non stick coating is far better than any of the others I've had including Calphalon, Cuisinart and All Clad. I use scrambled eggs as my test for non stick success. This pan does it all from searing to sauteing and it's reasonably priced compared to the big names. I highly recommend it.
