Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 7-1/2-Inch, 9-1/4-Inch and 11-Inch Skillets Triple Pack

Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 7-1/2-Inch, 9-1/4-Inch and 11-Inch Skillets Triple Pack, Orange GradientMy sister bought me this 3 piece Skillets set in the burnt orange color for christmas and I'm really feeling the color, it brighten up my kitchen a liitle bit. She knows I just love to cook and this would be the perfect present for me. I'm inlove with these skillets and I'm glad that Rachael Ray just didn't put her name anything and back it up with limited warranty. The handles grip firmly in your hands and the skillets is a nice weight. I have cooked eggs, ,toast bread, hamburger, and ground turkey to make tacos. I love how I can also use this skillet in my oven, which I have already tested out and these are stuff I made so far. I have made baked fish, baked chicken, roasted vegetables and pizza. I wouldn't put these skilletsin my dishwasher because the porcelain can come of and I don't think I would stir fry in them either because the porcelain would come of the skillets making them not lasting a long time. Overall they are good skillet and I haven't had a promblem with them yet, so I would recommend them to anybody who are looking for a great set of skillets.

Overall:

Although I am naturally a skeptic of "celebrity cookware" ever since buying some paula dean spoons which looked great until I hand washed them and they splintered and lost their coloring after one use. These pans honestly do have nice workmanship, good performance, and great looksa buy!

Pros:

comfortable stay cool handle

Very nice looking

Good non-stick performance

even heating

Cons

not very heavy so heat is not retained long

Summary:

Although the weight is a downside these pans do not disappoint.

Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric Skillet

Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric SkilletI had the older version of this skillet. It was half the price but only came with one pan. I loved it. The nonstick coating was virtually indestructible. I used metal utensils in it all the time and never got so much as a scratch. Well, I became so confident in the strength of the coating that I used a steak knife to cut a steak in half while it was in the pan to see if it was done. It wasn't knife proof. I guess I could have just ordered a replacement pan from Zojirushi, but I decided to buy this EP-RAC50 instead. It's better than the old one was. It's a little bigger, a little nicer looking. But I really like having the two pans. I can brown meat for spaghetti in the grill pan, and then boil noodles in the other. I don't even use the stove top anymore. You don't have to worry about pans being centered on the burner or sitting flat. Plus you have much more precise control over the temperature. It heats very evenly and the thermostat seems to be very accurate. I also like the fact that the nonstick coating is NOT Teflon, which is carcinogenic. And it's much more durable than Teflon. I don't need to use oil or butter because nothing sticks. Not even eggs. It wipes clean with a dry paper towel! Another nice thing is that you can remove the pan from the base so there's less chance of burning your food when it's done cooking unlike with some cheaper skillets where the pan and heating element are one unit. If this skillet breaks, I'll buy another one. It's worth every penny.

Gets hot quick.

Keeps the heat it is set for.

Looks good.

Very easy to clean.

Steaming food works great.

Cooks to perfection (so far).

Glass top makes it "fun" to use and see the cooking process.

A 2lb. meatloaf made in this pan was the best I've eaten and I didn't have to use the oven.

Next up is: Roast chicken and baking.

Wish:

1. That the pans were perfectly flat. The pans slope slightly to the outer edges and more oil is needed to compensate for the depth of the oil at the center. So trying to cook with less oil is difficult because the oil gathers toward the edges.

2. Hope they can make a Wok like pan insert that can be purchased as an option.

3. That the cover be tight fitting with the vent in the cover.

Other than that the product is the best electric skillet I've used.

I would recommend it to anyone.

How does it hold up after 6 months of use Feb. 2010 thru July 2010:

1. I only use wood and plastic utensils but the Pans scratch very easy and $77 plus to replace just one pan.

2. The manufacturer won't stand behind the pans unless you send it back to them for evaluation.

3. Even though the pans scratch, they clean-up without scrubbing. Very easy....

3. Contacting the factory rude.

4. Pans are not flat is still my biggest issue.

Still, the Zojirushi is the best and most versatile electric fry pan I've used.

I use it at least 4 to 5 times a week and I would but it again.

I bought this pan in March, and now that I have had it for almost a year I feel I can honestly say, 'It does everything as advertised'!

It can get REALLY HOT, or simply keep the meal warm.

No more 'hot spots' is one of my favorites! The pans heat evenly.

I love having two pans.I have used it for everything from soup to stir fry.

It has earned the title of 'Super Pan' in our house!

I wish I had this in my apartment living days! I got this as a present for a hotpot party from my husband. We were expecting 12 people over and I'd been using my cusinart fondue pot (which has worked when it's 4 to 6 of us). I have another electric skillet but it's old, cheap and not reliable. Hubby got this and (1) sticker shock, holy crap! (2) wow it's big! it's really big. I had thought about returning it b/c of the cost. I'm glad I didn't.

We used this as our non-spicy hot pot. Poured some seasoning, broth and water, bam ready in a matter of minutes. It boiled the broth. I was surprised. So this is great for a decent size group of people. It didn't burn my food it kept the broth at a stable temperature. The meats/foods were cold (refrigerated/frozen) but we didn't notice any drastic temperature changes. Even heating for all uses (steaming, boiling, pan frying)

It's also a pretty looking machine, very easy to use, very easy to clean! Non-stick for real and just a wet soapy sponge, and everything comes off. The nonstick coating is still working even after all the abuse of metal utensils, chopsticks, spatulas, whatever.

SAFE! If you happen to knock/trip on the power cord it'll pop off magnetized so you don't have to worry about the whole pot going with it. The handles on the pot stays cool even if the pot is boiling.

UPDATE:

I've steamed a whole fish (4lbs)!! I used the steamer rack with some ginger and scallions, let the water heat up, put the fish in, 10 minutes later, the softest, silkiest tender fish ever. It looks big at first but it's perfect even for 2 people

Steamed tofu with ginger/scallions same as above, also delish.

Soups easy peasy, used the large pot, browned the meat, threw in the veggies, then stock done!

Green Chile browned my meat and caramelized onions, threw in all the other ingredients and seasoning let this sucker simmer for a day...meat is so tender and flavorful, the chile was a hit.

Use the shorter pan to brown potstickers

Temperature settings are great! I haven't used my crockpot since we've gotten this it actually COOKS the food not just keeps it warm.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

Most of my cooking with the Zojirushi EP-RAC50 is grilling. I grill vegetables using the shallow pan and have been impressed with its performance. The heat is evenly distributed across the pan preventing hot spots and burnt food. Cleanup has been simple, I have not had anything stick to the pan that required scrubbing. I have used the deep pan on a few occasions and have found it to work well. I have not steamed with the rack so I can not provide information on its performance. The exterior stays cool to the touch preventing burns and reducing heatin the kitchen.

The only weakness that I have detected is the power cord. It is not a standard cord that is easily replaced.

All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Stockpot

All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart StockpotNothing tastes better on a blustery winter's day than a steaming bowl of homemade soup or stew. And, nothing is better to prepare it in than this All-Clad Stockpot.

It seems that a stockpot is one kitchen item that never wears out, so I'd been making do with what we had. But, when I was fortunate enough to be gifted with this stockpot from All-Clad I couldn't believe the difference!

It has a thick conductive base that spreads the heat evenly, not just where the burner might hit it.And, it has solid stainless steel walls that keep the heat in.The lid fits snugly, and it simmers away for hours emitting the most delicious aromas.

The brushed exterior gives it a great look, and it is made to conform to All-Clad's estimable high standards.Soup's on!

Both the 6 and 8 quart stockpots are must haves for your All Clad cookware collection. The 6 is great for sauce, a pound of lasagna or rigatoni, soup or stew and the 8 quart is a must have for my favorite meatballs that I cook in my sauce with sausage and steak. At first I didn't think I would need both but now that I do I can imagine doing all the Italian cooking that I do with out them.I can get my sauce and meatballs cooking in the 8 quart and start boiling lasagna noodles in the 6 quart.I love them both.

These pans are made very well, heat evenly, are very easy to clean and are designed to last. All Clad cookware is one of the most expensive lines around and it is worth every penny, it really is lifetime cookware (backed by a lifetime warranty). This pan is a definite must have.Very, very highly recommended! A+++!...

I got this pot to replace an old 5 quart teflon lined aluminum pot of similar shape but with plastic handles, which kept it from the oven without extraordinary measures. The old pot simply did not heat up very quickly or evenly and it's dark interior made it more difficult to see what was going on with braises or pasta cooking.

So, I was often lugging out my 8 quart Le Creuset dutch oven when the smaller lighter pot would be the perfect size, but for the plastic handles.

I have used it a few times since receiving it, and it meets every expectation, even outperforming a similarly sized 5 quart Calphalon pan which was my old favorite when I bunked with a gas range.

This is an incredibly uselfu size and shape, and worth the cost if you cook a lot.

Highly recommended.

We use the 6-qt pot for everything. In fact I wish I had gotten it before anything else. If I were starting out equipping a kitchen from scratch again, I would start here instead of the 12" frying pan I got first. It keeps the mess in the pot better than a frying pan. This can fry a steak, brown it perfectly, then go into the oven to finish. Perfect for braises. Perfect for soup from scratch. A couple times we challenged it's capacity but I like its low walls, so maybe we'll get the 8-qt next. Lighter than a Dutch oven, cooks evenly, browns without burning. It's the pot that's always on the stove.

Emeril Pro-Clad Stainless Sauce Pans

Emeril by All-Clad E9831864 PRO-CLAD Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe 3-Quart Sauce Pan Cookware, SliverI received this pot as a wedding gift about six months ago, along with a Tramontina pot the same size. Both are good cookware, though I find the proportions of this onebetter balanced and more pleasing to the hand. I've grown up using stainless cookware of the disk on the bottom type so I found this pot a pleasant change of pace. It does heat more evenly. It is, of course, quite possible to burn something onto the bottom, as with any stainless pot, but a little scrubbing (of which the brushed inside finish is very forgiving) will quickly get it out. The handle is comfortable to hold, and doesn't seem to get very hot. Overall, a great pot I look forward to using for many years.

This is a great addition to the set in stores which generally doesn't come with a 1 qt pan.We wanted one for gravy and soups and were surprised to find that this pan has a lip around it that makes it easy to pour from the pan without getting the pan all messy.I recommend this product to anyone with the Emerilware set.

Buy Emeril Pro-Clad Stainless Sauce Pans Now

Our family bought a ten piece set of Emeril Pro-Clad Cookware for my mother's birthday, and she is thrilled with it. I've used this cookware and found it to be far superior to everything else. Heat is distributed evenly, the glass lid allows you to see what's going on without removing the lid and losing all the heat and the combination pouring spout and strainer is very convenient. Another nice touch is the presence of two pouring spouts the designer didn't force you to pour from one side or the other. Finally, the aluminum core on the bottom of the pan which conducts and distributes heat so well is completely enclosed in stainless steel, so the injurious effects of aluminum are avoided while the benefits are retained.

I recommend Emeril Pro-Clad Cookware to everyone. It will last you a lifetime and I don't believe you'll ever find anything better.

Emeril Pro-Clad Stainless 1-Quart Sauce Pan I had the rest of the set just needed this pan to complete. Just the great little pan that I needed. The best thing about the Emeril pans is that they have the heavy bottom which retains the heat better and uses less energy when cooking. Thanks for letting me write this review.

I just received the 1 quart Emiril 1 quart Pro-Clad sauce pan.I have not used it yet, but it seems very well made and I have no doubt that it will work very well. My issue with it is that when I took it out of the box is seemed rather small. As a test, I poured four one cup measurements of water into the pot and the water overflowed; not a lot of water overflowed but some did. There is no way that one could cook a quart of food in this pot.As a practical matter, what I received is a 3 cup sauce pan.

Unlike some reviewers, the pot I received is what was pictured in that it does not have a pour spout and it is heavy weight, but as I said, it just is not a quart size.

Revere Polished Aluminum 8-Inch Nonstick Skillet

Revere Polished Aluminum 8-Inch Nonstick SkilletThis is the best frying pan I have ever had. Nothing sticks. Everything turns out perfectly. It cooks evenly. The handle is perfectly shaped and proportioned to the hand. The pan is balanced, not heavy on the side away from the handle. It is feather-light, not a heavy clunker that wears you out just lifting it. (An elderly person cares greatly about the weight of utensils, but I think all women care about that aspect as well.) It cleans up so easily, just a few wipes because nothing, absolutely nothing, sticks. I use a flexible spatula to protect the surface, of course. The size is fine for a couple of eggs with bacon, or a few fried potatoes. Don't waste your money, as I did for my entire life, on the poorly designed skillets that come with famous chefs' names or huge advertising budgets. Revere is the only one you will want if you once try it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. AND THE PRICE WAS REALLY EXCELLENT. I love buying from Amazon. Besides the prices, I have never been left in the lurch waiting for a product.

Works well, as expected. This is a replacement for the same pan model that served us for over 10 years. We expect the same from this one.

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware Set, Black ()Previously, I've owned the New T-fal D913SC64 Signature Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set by T-fal, which I loved.I expected to feel the same way about this T-fal set.I was especially excited to try the square grill pan.

I seasoned the pans as directed, then I used the square grill pan for frying up some pork chops (something my other set of T-fal excels at).I couldn't believe how badly those chops stuck to the pan!Even after soaking the pan in hot, soapy water for an hour, I still had to use a lot of elbow grease to get it clean! It wasn't a matter of cooking it wrong either...The first time, I cooked them exactly the same as I do with my other pans. The second time, I used a much lower temperature (thinking that I may have accidentally cooked at too high a temperature the first time).Even using the lowest temperature, the chops still stuck!

After a little research, I think I've figured out why.T-fal has two different manufacturers produce their pans.My previous set (the D913SC64) is made in France. This Jamie Oliver set is made in China, and it shows.T-fal, I'm disappointed.

()The only thing "unique" about this set is the Thermo-Spot heat indicator, which lets you know when your pan is heated up by turning solid red. That's a fine feature, though I don't find it terribly important-how hard is it to just wait a minute? I guess if you're in a rush and need to know right away, it's cool.

But I have several issues with this set:

1. NOT dishwasher safe. The manual says all their other sets are dishwasher safe, EXCEPT the hard anodized exterior sets. This is not made clear on the packaging.

2. Nonstick doesn't work well. Like another reviewer, I first tried cooking eggs in the small pan. They stuck like crazy! It specifically tells you not to use cooking spray or oil because it can mess up the pans, but there's no way I could go without it. I even took a photo because I couldn't believe what a mess it was to get these eggs out of the pan. I've had much better nonstick pans before.

3. Thinner than I'm used to. The pots and pans are weighty-they don't feel cheap-but they must be thinner or more conductive on the bottom than my usual pans because I had major trouble cooking pancakes... I have a gas range, and even on a low setting, the pancakes burned on the outside very fast, yet were liquid on the inside. Even after several rounds, I couldn't get the pancakes to cook right. I'll keep trying with thinner pancakes and an even lower setting.

5. Cannot be used under the broiler because of the rubberized handles.

6. The "large" saute pan is really just medium-sized... that's the one I used for pancakes, and I could really just cook one large pancake at a time. It would not suffice for a real dinner for more than one person. You'd still need to buy a separate large saute pan for everyday use.

It's an attractive set, it feels good in the hand, and it's nice to have three lids with the set, but I can't recommend it in good conscience because of the above issues.

Buy Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware Now

()Some of the reviews so far have not been particularly favorable, and I understand the concerns of those folk.Nonetheless, I've been thoroughly delighted with the set, which is impressive in appearance, has a decent, if not "Calphalonic" weight to each of the pieces, and stack easily in a small space (I have them on the top rack of a smallish baker's rack).

The pans conduct heat nicely and (surprisingly) evenly.I have not had any of the issues others have mentioned with things like releasing an egg from the pan, though I must admit, I use a bit of butter (always) and not cooking sprays (ever) for my eggs (or anything else personal preference).I live alone, but entertain frequently and I've had no issue with the size of the pans, though I tend to make multiple courses of smaller amounts.

The only issue I've had with this set is that I generally make my sauces in a skillet (rather than a saucepan) and the shallowness of the pans makes serving the sauce directly from the pan a bit clumsy and unnecessarily messy and when eating alone, don't feel I should have to pour the sauce from a pan into a serving vessel merely to get it onto my plate.A quick wipe up of the stove and that's remedied, but a bit more depth to the skillets would have been nice.Perhaps in the next incarnation with the next celebrity chef!

()I received far more than I expected and am so delighted about this T-fal Set.At first glance I thought this is just another set of cookware and began reading the instructions.Do this and do that so you can begin using this pot or skillet. No bid deal but a bit more work than most new sets require.I started with a small sauce pan and worked my way up to the big pot along with the skillets and honestly this is one fine set no matter how you might want to classify it.

Put the raw food in, cook for a while and it's over.Clean up is a white tornado of speed. The pots and all are lightweight and tough. The little center Thermo-heat spot is there and it appears to be effective but I am too much of a novice to be an expert. The sauce pans heat quickly but when using they do not scorch nor burn the contents.Being able to see the food cook with the glass tops is another plus and makes the process just that much more enjoyable. After using all pieces I have had zero defects or problems and highly recommend this set for the amateur or the professional.

Want Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware Discount?

I was looking for an Anodized set because of what people say about it (twice as strong as stainless steel, professional look, etc) and I went to the stores to find myself one but they were very expensive. I could not believe I found this set on Amazon at this price. I have had T-fal product before and the non-stick is great. And I also love Jamie Oliver and what he stands for so I thought the combination of both T-fal and Jamie would be a winner.

No doubt about it, this set is awesome.

The non-stick inside is second to none and nothing sticks and sooooo easy to clean.

The outside is very pretty and should last me a lifetime.

The handles are made of a soft rubbery material like silicone so they are super comfortable to grip and it also means your pans can go in the oven at a higher temperature than my old pans with plastic handles.

The 2 fry pans and the grill pan have the red dot in the middle which tells you when your pan is at the right temperature to start cooking. I had never really used it on my old T-fal pans but I thought I would give it a shot with these new ones. It actually does make a difference. If you heat your pan (with no oil) until the dot turns solid red and then you pour in a little bit of oil your food will actually take less time to cook and will cook at the right temperature. It's a cool little feature I will be using more often.

Overall.......... a great set of pots and pans and it has all the pieces you really need to do most of your regular everyday cooking at home. The beautiful grill pan is a plus. Such a nice pan.

Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless-Steel Skillet

Cuisinart MCP22-20NS MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless-Steel 8-Inch SkilletThis is an excellent skillet that requires very low heat for cooking, and cleanup is a breeze. I have the regular cuisinart multiclad set, which is awesome, but I no longer use those skillets since purchasing this one. No more Barkeepers Friend and scouring required. It is off the stove, cool down and wash with dish soap and warm water. I have had no problem with bits of teflon flaking off.

I would highly recommend this skillet to anyone looking.

I own the MCP 12 piece stainless steel, but wanted a decent non-stick skillet so I picked this up.It works great and has been the most used piece I own...

I do wish it would have come with a lid (or one was offered separately) but I found an inexpensive 12" all-purpose chef's classic that had a great glass semi-domed lid that I purchased and use the lid from.

This skillet still looks new use after use and it performs flawlessly. Nothing sticks to this thing and I love using it to scramble eggs and make pancakes. It requires very little heat and is super easy to clean. All you do is let it cool down, wash and dry. I wash mine by hand because I think good quality cookware will last longer and keep looking good if washed and dried thoroughly by hand. The handle stays cool and is riveted on, not those flimsy screws that can loosen up over time. Excellent quality and great size.I highly recommend this skillet.

This is a very nice pan and I am impressed. I would like to give this a higher rating. However, a year after I purchased the pan the nonstick surface is peeling all around the edge of the pan. The problem with this is that the limited warranty requires you to pay for shipping to Cuisinart and another $7.00 for them to ship it back to you. This seems like a manufacture defect to me. I am put off that I have to pay to have them ship me a skillet to replace a defect. It's cheaper than buying a new one but how do I know I won't be spending another $14 worth of shipping costs a year from now. They need to fix their process with the nonstick bonding.

We bought all 3 sizes of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro nonstick skillets about a year and a half ago, and absolutely love them. This isn't teflon it's some sort of titanium coating developed for the space program. We use them every day, and there's no sign of flaking as usually happens with teflon.Although they don't come with lids, we also bought some of the casseroles, a dutch oven, and several sizes of saucepans, and the lids that came with those fit the skillets. The only thing missing from the line is a 1 quart saucepan. If anything ever does happen to the nonstick coating, we've been so satisfied that we'll just replace them.

T-fal Ultimate Hard Anodized Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Anti-Warp Base Dis

T-fal E9180764 Ultimate Hard Anodized Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Anti-Warp Base Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Saute / Fry Pan Cookware, GrayI am no chef or cook.I only cook eggs in this pan in the morning, and I have been looking the world over for a decent well made nonstick pan.I bought those green ones you see on tv and they require prepping like wiping oil on the inside and then cooking them until they reach a certain temp.I returned it immediately.Another brand I looked at were the stone pans you see on tv.Mixed reviews there (I did not purchase the stone pans because they were expensive and the reviewers stated that returning these pans were difficult).

The T-Fal Ultimate Hard Anodized pan is solid and well made.It is about 10 inches on the inner dimension even though is it is advertized as 12 inch. This pan is huge however, and holds a lot of eggs.

This pan is truly nonstick.I mean I do not put any butter or spray Pam or silicone spray inside the pan and my eggs always slip right out onto the plate. They are easy to clean.I now do not use butter, oil, or Pam when I cook my eggs.I love this pan.I wished my entire set was T-Fal.I have stainless.

The heading say's it all for me..the pan still warps out in the middle after a few uses..it was perfect the first time i used

it..and this pan is very heavy i figured that it wouldn't warp like all the rest i got from t-fal..but it did and i'm stuck with it

for atleast a year while the NON-STICK surface lasts..

Then it's time to buy another one i just don't understand it,i don't put it on high heat..i wash it by handjust like it says

to do..i mean i treat this pan with respect and this is how it rewards me..so in conclusion it's just like the rest of t-fals

crap..so my advice is if i had to do it again i think i wouldn't but your not me..

This product not is warp-resistant. It lasted me approx. a half year and then warped at the bottom. It says it can handle the dishwasher. I had always hand-washed it up until a month ago. Then it warped. I suspect this has to do with the dishwasher. Either way, it doesn't cook evenly anymore due to the warping. For something that costs almost $40 for a single piece of cookware, I feel it should last at least a year or there should bewarning that it cannot really handle the dishwasher. Also, when I explained this to the seller, I was ignored.

I been on the fence about purchasing non stick for the longest due to all the health concerns about peeling and chipped non stick coating...

I researched for many years on non stick pans and were still unsure.

Finally, It came down to a set of four pans at $140 of another brand and T Fal, a stand alone pan at about $30.

I read the review on the other highly praised T Fal non stick pan but I read all the one star reviews regarding the "pop up" or warp issue.

This T Fal model was to address that issue and boy DID it answer it....positively.

We used it last night, no pop up!

Pros.

No lead, no cadmium, no PFOA means it's safe non stick...according to T-Fal.

The non stick coating on this pan is PTFE which according to T Fal is inert.

It's supposedly metal utensil friendly but I wouldn't take that chance.I bought OXO silicone spatula just for this pan.

At 12", The pan's lot bigger than I thought it would be.

However, It's also lot lighter then it looks,so it wasn't at all hard to handle.

It's solidly built with a non slip and comfortable handle. The handle didn't get hot while we're using it.

Cons:

No cons ...yet.

Only thing I can nit pick is that after first real world use, the water's not completely rolling off the non stick surface, but instead beading. When I first got the pan and washed it, the water would just....rolled off the non stick surface and only beaded on the outer surface of the pan.

This can be my winner of 2012 P.O.T.Y. award if it stayed non stick for next five years.

It might get there if i FOLLOW their very important tips of "not using higher then medium heat."

which I had no idea ........seems like a great product,so far.

I ordered this frying pan since the old one from Costco lost its non-stick layer.

Pros:

The pan was built in good quality. It gets heated quickly and it is light to handle.

Cons:

A bit too shallow and it is not good for saute veggie. But it works well with Fish, Steak, and eggs.

Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless-Steel Saucepan with Cover

Cuisinart MCP19-16 MultiClad Pro Stainless-Steel 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with CoverI'm a self-confessed cookware junkie and professionally-trained home chef.I have at least 60 or so different pots and pans, and actually use most of them regularly.I've been biased toward Calphalon Anodized (not non-stick) for nearly 20 years, and still love the line.I got into Calphalon Tri-Ply, which is superb, but thought I'd try this pan to see if the value was there.

IMHO, Calphalon Tri-Ply, Cuisinart Multiclad, and KitchenAid Clad all have far surpassed All-Clad for various reasons.Basically, All-Clad hasn't changed its design in ages, and has missed out on a number of very real improvements.

To Wit: the rolled lip that eliminates pouring drips and runs of liquid down the outside of the pan.A simple improvement, but a huge one for simplifying clean-up later, and for whatever surface you rest the pan on.So far, I think Calphalon has the best lids -glass, deep draw, and very nicely fitting. This Cuisinart pan's top fits acceptably well, but it's probably the weak link.As for strengths, this pan weighs in as heavy or heavier than either the All-Clad or Calphalon offerings of similar size, so that's a big win for heat dispersion and uniformity (All-Clad has become really thin over the years!).Unlike the KitchenAid, the exterior is matte finished except for the top 1/2 inch or so.This helps to ensure that the pan will look good despite real-world use.The shape is nice -not too tall and narrow, so it works well on a small burner.

Finally there is the handle. This doesn't have the cool-V design of the Calphalon, but it stays pretty cool anyway.I have a major problem with All-Clad handles, which are extremely uncomfortable for me, the way I lift pans (I have very strong arms and wrists, so I usually lift pans overhand, unlike many who go underhand to get the extra muscle leverage).Lifting overhand, the All-Clad handles dig into my palm in a very uncomfortable way. These Cuisinart (and Calphalon and KitchenAid) handles do not.

4.5 stars overall; 1/2 star docked for the lid being less than perfect (but still as good as all the competition except Calphalon).

UPDATE: Feb 18, 2009: I've compared the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro and All-Clad Stainless pans side by side, and if anything, the Cuisinarts are heavier duty, certainly not meaningfully lighter! The All-Clad LTD pans (some of them) do appear to be thicker/heavier than their stainless counterparts, but then we're comparing apples and oranges, and in any event it's pretty much gilding the lily to go much thicker than they are already. The pouring lip on the Cuisinarts is a huge in-use advantage as well (far less messy). On the whole, the Multiclad Pro line is an incredible bargain. Search my reviews for other comments about these vis-a-vis Calphalon etc.

This pan looks great and performs great. It's less heavy duty than All-Clad, but unless the kitchen is in the middle of a stone quarry it is plenty, plenty heavy duty enough. And it looks great, too.In addition to the price advantage, another lead over All-Clad is the turned lip.One disadvantage, though, is the handle. It's not a light pot, and when it is full it is simply heavy. The handle is not broad/thick/shaped enough, and there is no helper handle on the opposite side.It works, certainly, but the 2006 version could be improved.

I thought I would love this pan. And I do love the multi-clad. And the handle's fine, along with the rivets.

The problem is the lid.

For some reason, the Pro and stainless Chef's lines use a lid that just sits on top of the pot rather than utilize the lid they provide for the non-stick Chef's line, one that has an underrim on it and is seated within the pan (like the Calphalon lids; and, like the Calphalon lids, the non-stick Chef's line lids are glass). The end result is that if and when the contents begin to boil, the steam begins to boil over, even if the contents themselves do not (and if it's anywhere near full, the contents boil over as well; either way, you have a mess). Therefore, unless you watch it like a hawk, or leave the lid off, the 1 1/2qt pan becomes, practically, a 1qt pan, and you may as well get the 2qt if you want 1 1/2qts capacity. Or go with the non-stick Chef's line. Or Calphalon (which, unfortunately, is nearly three times the price).

I bought this pan because of the similarities to the Calphalon Tri-Ply and the All Clad Stainless I own, but at a lower price. When it arrived today, I was delighted! Every bit as high quality as the much more expensive pans I own.

The interior and the exterior around the lip is mirror polished so very easy to clean. The bottom half and the base of the pan is slightly brushed so that it doesn't show scratches or fingerprints. It features a slightly curved out lip for dripless pouring that is identical to Calphalon. The handle is well balanced and doesn't get hot when cooking on the stove. The lid is a heavy gauge stainless and fits snugly.

It features the aluminum core that is sandwiched between 2 layers of stainless steel. Note that this is NOT the less expensive disc base you find on lesser products. It is smooth and seamless and provides superior heat conduction and retention. You will definitely need to use much lower heat if you've been using cheaper pans.

These do not have a non-stick coating but they clean up beautifully. If you ever burn something, use a little Bar Keepers Friend and your pan will look like new. It will also go into the dishwasher no problem.

I can definitely recommend this line so from now on, I will check All Clad, Calphalon Tri-Ply, and Cuisinart Multiclad Pro and then choose whatever's on sale because as far as I'm concerned, they are equally high quality.

This cookware overall is an excellent choice for the price. It heats uniformally cleans up well and looks great, I have them hanging on a pot rack in the kitchen. The handles do well on heat they don't get to hot unless they have been on the burner for an extended period of time but I've used more expensive pots that heat up much faster. If I have a complaint it's that they haven't expanded the line at all.I'd like to see more choices in the multiclad like like they have in their other sets.

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 12-Inch Covered Fry Pan with Helper Handle

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 12-Inch Covered Fry Pan with Helper HandleMy mother has owned this pan ever since I can remember, and she used it three or four times each week for at least 10 years, from the time I was aware of such things until the time I moved out. She still uses it 15 years later. I truly believe she has never replaced it in all that time. I have since purchased a set for myself including the frying pan, and it is a very durable product. Best and most even heating of any pans I've owned. It's got a very comfortable weight balance and I don't have to worry about the handle getting hot. I like the classic version without the teflon because you never have to worry about scraping the coating off.

I love Farberware Classic and I want to complete my set and never have to worry about buying new pans again.

Farberware classic is great -an inexpensive yet equally functional alternative to the very expensive pots & pans.Note: recently Farberware reduced its quality, in that older Farberware pots & pans had their thick aluminum base completely encased within a stainless steel shell. The newer pots & pans have the aluminum base attached to the bottom, but not encased within a stainless steel bottom. So, their quality is less than it was; most people who "grew up with Farberware" may not realize this.Farberware used to hold the patent on the technique of having the aluminum base CURVE up the side of the pan -they no longer do this, and are the same as many other manufacturers. Also note: if you are buying a 12" pan, this is a HUGE pan, since it has a squareish cross-section.I found it to be so absolutely huge -you could fry a dozen onions in this monster -that I simply never use it.The 10" and 8" sizes may be what you're looking for!

How many products do you know when you buy it that it will last 30 or 40 years? This is one of them. My mom has had hers for 35 years, I've had mine for 5. It's simply the best pan out there. It cooks evenly, it goes in the dishwasher, the handles stay cool, and you don't have to use plastic spatulas. The only problem that somebody might have is that it is not nonstick. For that reason my wife usually uses a Calphalon nonstick professional pan, even though it can't be cleaned in the dishwasher and you have to treat it carefully. So if you must have nonstick, buy something else. But if you want a large, beatiful, indestructible pan that will last longer than you will, buy this pan!

This is a great pan for preparing meals. I generally have trouble with a pan being able to hold all of the ingredients, but this one is definitely up to the task. Although it's not stick-proof, most of my cooking involves sauces or olive oil (usually both), resulting in relatively easy cleanup. Keep in mind that it's very heavy (12 inces of stainless steel), but it doesn't warp, tip over, or get knocked off the counter.

This is a handy-sized frying pan, and the helper handle is great when it is full.It is dishwasher safe.Because it is uncoated, it can scorch, when means hand-washing with a scrubbing pad. Also, because it is large (with the lid) it can be tricky finding a place to store it.
