Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inch

Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inchThis Deni electric skillet is large enough to fry a whole chicken, and is non stick. We like using it to save energy and keep the kitchen cool during the Summer. It also means no stove or cook top to clean, which is a real plus! Portable, too, to take that hot dish to the pot luck, and keep it hot! But compare to it the new RECTANGLE electric skillet: West Bend 72215 12-by-15-Inch Extra-Deep Skillet which is our favorite. The West Bend has even higher sides (3 inches) and is easier to use because it is not ROUND, but long it measures 15 inches in length. We even bake an excellent lasagne in the West Bend because the lasagne noodles fit exactly! So we actually bought BOTH of these, but if forced to choose, the West Bend is a much better price and seems to be more useful.

I received this electric skillet as a gift. I am very pleased with it.I like the size (12 in x 14 in) and the shape of the skillet

(not round).Even when I prepare a "one person" meal, I do not find the skillet too large.I would not want a smaller skillet.I also like the vented see through glass lid better than a metal lid. I have not had trouble with "hotspots" due to the skillet's heating element.I rate this product as a five-star item.SC

I bought this skillet by mistake. I was going to send it back, but our daughter said she would like to have it. We gave it to her and she really likes it. Our grandson wanted one, so we ordered one for him too. We wanted one that was stainless steel inside and out.

I checked out a lot of electric skillet before decieding on this one and I'm so happy I chose it.The description is exactly what this skillet delivers. The temperature dial lets you choose any setting in between the printed degrees. It heats quickly and there are no hot/cool spots. There is no light to tell you if the unit is on or off, but there is a soft hum while it is heating. When the set temperature is reached, the hum stops. The temperature guage is a plug it easy to install and remove.Cleaning is a breeze: wipe with a paper towel or clean with soapy water and a cloth.Nice size: stores easily.

GreenPan Stockholm Sauté Pan - 11" - Non-stick

GreenPan Stockholm Sauté Pan - 11' - Non-stickAbsolutely amazing non-stick. Buy one of those silicon pancake turners to go along with this. Not even crushed garlic sticks to this thing. A little jostle and it starts sliding around. Even water beads up in here when it's completely clean. I guess this is the next generation of non-stick. It works much better than teflon. Whether it lasts as long I cannot say, since I've only had this for 3 months. But we use it 3 or 4 times per week. We have one of those below-the glass heating element ranges, and this works perfectly on the front 10" burners. Because of the non-stick, cleaning is easy too. By the time you rinse out big particles, it appears spotless. I love it.

I got this pan at Home Goods for $29.99, with bluish-gray exterior. It also came with a stainless steel (fairly flat) lid, but I don't know if what's sold here includes that. It is very solid. The handle is sturdy, and bolted all the way through the pan, as opposed to tack-welded on like many others). I don't think I would have paid $150 for it, but for $30 it's an amazing deal.

Kila Chef 11" Tri-Ply Copper Bottom Saute Pan with lid

Kila Chef 11' Tri-Ply Copper Bottom Saute Pan with lidI have had the KilaChef sauté pan for abouta month.

I use this mostly for sauces and curries cacciatore, marinara, vindaloo and such.

For dryer foods I use the fry pan.

Pros: Heavy and thick, well balanced, Feels right

Performs well heats up quickly, cools quickly

Does not burn food

Love the copper look

Very reasonable price.

Cons: Does require elbow grease and cleanser once a week I use Barkeepers Friend

Copper loses luster after use gets a patina and coloration

Not dishwasher safe.

I gave it 5 stars because it does a great job for my needs: for a solid pan with which

I can try new gourmet recipes. I use it almost everyday.

Starfrit Heritage Renaissance Cast Aluminum Fry Pans

Starfrit Heritage Renaissance Cast Aluminum Non-Stick 9.5 Inch Fry PanWe went out on a limb when we bought this skillet since there were no reviews here, and it wasn't top of the list at Consumer Reports. After a year of frequent use, we can say we have no regrets and have been well pleased with it's performance. The pan weighs about three and one half pounds. Much lighter than cast iron, but heavier than the Martha Stewart skillet we also have, which warps under the heat. We use the Starfrit on a smooth top stove, and it sits flat and browns amazingly evenly. The non-stick surface is working great and shows no signs of wear or peeling. Minor nitpicks are that it's a little hard to clean because of the dimpled surface, and the handle is a bit short to keep large hands off the hot metal. We assume the golf ball cooking surface is part of it's function, and it cleans easier if you use a nylon brush. Other than that, the only deduction would be the price. We won't know if that's justified until I have it for a couple more years. Loving it for now, though.

Proctor Silex 38520G Nonstick Electric Skillet, Black

Proctor Silex 38520G Nonstick Electric Skillet, BlackWe use this skillet several times a week & LOVE IT!!!It's way better than the Presto non-stick 16" skillet we tried because that one didn't leave much room for anything else in the dishwasher. This one not only leaves room in the dishwasher but has non-skid pads on the feet. The Presto slid around on our stove/counter top.We love the clear lid on this new version of the Proctor Silex & the fact that you can order the handles only if 1 gets broken but the rest of the skillet is fine. This is our 2nd or 3rd Proctor Silex non-stick electric skillet in 20+ years of marriage (1st 1 was a wedding gift that we wish we would have started using a lot sooner). They last a long time if you are careful to not damage the non-stick coating--do NOT use metal utensils in it.

Well, let's just say I was a more than a little underwhelmed by the Proctor Silex Electric Skillet. Why? For one, the lid was bent out of shape -so much so that it wouldn't fit on the skillet. Granted, I wasn't expecting too much, as it is bargain priced, but at the same time...jeeze, you want the basics. A lid that's not made of very pliable aluminum would be one of those basic items. Secondly, it's not at all sturdy. Not that I'm planning on dropping it on the floor, but accidents do happen. One fall from the counter, and this thing will be done for.

Other than that, the skillet warms up nicely and is ideal for basic cooking. We tend to use it for pancakes, so the lid really isn't too much of a n issue there.

Would I get it again? No, probably not. I'd go with something a little more sturdy, a little more high-end, and a name brand. You do indeed get what you pay for.

My old skillet was smaller so I do like the extra space.I was concerned about the thickness of the aluminum being so much thinner compared with my old one. However, since I have some problems with heavy appliances/pots, etc. this lighter weight is quite nice.I really enjoy the glass lid for keeping and eye on things. The nonstick is so far just great.I would have liked some method to hook the lid to the pan which forms a splatter shield and is somewhere to put a hot lid (had one years ago). However, being glass, it might be too heavy or otherwise not possible.Haven't used it long enough to give it 5 stars, since one of the drawbacks may be when simmering if the thermostat has too long a response time.It is a good skillet.

Sorry to say, they just don't make 'em like they use to.

The center area of the pan did not heat up well, and the areas ( where the heating element is on the underside of the pan ) seemed to have varying temperatures of heat . In browning pork chops, some chops were browned .... then others weren't. Overall, inconsistant heating throughout.

George Foreman Family Size Plus Grills

George Foreman GR26CB Family Size Plus Grill with Cookbook, WhiteI had wanted to get this grill for awhile, but was still a little leery of its merits.I finally bought it anyway, and so far, have been loving it!I anticipate that during the summer it will replace my oven.

I cook a lot of chicken, either in the skillet, or in the oven. With this grill, you don't have to worry about turning the chicken, watching it, etc.All I really do it watch the clock. The first night I had the grill, I made salmon fillets, and they turned out great.

While I love the grill so far, there are a few things to watch out for.The first time I cooked chicken, I overcooked it..you kind of need to play around with the times in the booklet enclosed with the grill.I also found that I needed to push the grease tray farther back (closer to the grill) than I initially thought. Also, it does get quite smoky, so it would probably be most ideal if your kitchen had some kind of window.

With cleaning, you really do have to do it while the grill is still warm, or it makes it a lot harder to clean off.

I've barely used my oven since getting this grill..in the summer it will be great not having to heat up the whole house.

I bought the George Foreman grill as a joke for my husband (it DOES say "Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" on it), but we used it for three weeks solid after it arrived. The reason? It's EASY, and the food turns out really tasty!

This particular model is big enough to cook several portions of meat at a time -it cooks from the top and bottom all at once to cut your cooking time down to mere minutes! The grill is tilted and comes with a trough so that all excess fat is drained away from your food. Pretty nifty! It's also fairly easy to clean up -you just wipe down the grill and throw the trough in the dishwasher.

We've used the grill for chicken breasts, Boca Burgers, regular burgers, pork chops, steaks, and even bacon strips (it's GREAT for avoiding a bunch of messy bacon grease). It cooks even frozen meat in a relatively short period of time, and it cooks it thoroughly. It's easy to throw something on the grill, sprinkle some seasonings on it (BAM!), and let it cook for a few minutes while you fix the rest of the meal. It is hard to overcook things, and it's fun to have grill-lines on your food.

It took me awhile to believe the hype about the George Foreman Grills, but they are easy to use and deliver good results. In fact, this might be a good way to introduce your older children (12 and up) to rudimentary cooking. The George Foreman grill would be great for people who don't have a lot of time to cook & clean, who aren't yet confident cooks or don't have a lot of cooking experience, or for anyone who wants an easy way to make a tasty meal!

First off, let me state that I never buy anything that I see on television or any mass-marketed, "must own" product. With my wife being 8 months pregnant, it suddenly became a priority for me to pitch in and take care of some meals. We purchased the George Foreman "Family Size" grill, thinking that I could grill some things up without trudging outside to fire up the gas grill, cooking it, and scraping the grill, etc.

Well, we have now had it one week and thus far I have already prepared:chicken breasts, salmon, cod, hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, potatoes, and even ostrich (the most nutritional red meat there is)! Each of these things were among the best I've ever tasted. The quality of the grilling rivals that of any I've ever achieved on an outdoor grill. Each meal took under 10 minutes (including pre-heating) to cook, and 5 minutes to clean up.I cannot say enough about this product.

I recommend buying at least the family size grill. It's perfect for easily getting multiple items on at the same time. For example, I grilled three burgers and some sliced, red skinned potatoes at the same time. This size seems perfect for 2 or 3 people, despite claims that it can hold enough for 5 or 6 people.

You know how you go through an infatuation period with a new kitchen appliance? Then it gets put in a storeroom and falls out of your life like an old boyfriend or girlfriend. It happened to our pastamaker, our ice-cream maker, but I don't think it's going to happen to our George Foreman grill.I really think it's going to occupy prime kitchen counterspace forever.

The main reason is that it is extremely versatile. It grills meats easily; everything comes out firm on the outside and juicy on the inside. But it is also a dandy sandwich-maker it makes the world's best grilled cheese; the cheese and bread undergo a kind of spiritual transformation and become as one.

Do yourself a favor buy a really good loaf of bread, spread it with a little olive oil, and make the world's best toast.

But although it does an excellent job with fish fillets, you use it for this purpose at your peril.Even though I scrubbed it daily it took five or more days before my toast did not taste like Charlie the Tuna.So no fish would be my advice (or, get the newer Foreman grill with the removable grill plates, which presumably could be de-salmonized in the dishwasher).

I am a big fan of the Foreman grill machine. The problem is, I use it.

I am on my third machine now in less than two years, and the surface is hopeless again.

No matter how much they tell you to use the plasticware, etc, if you use salt or other seasonings in the cooker, you will lose the surface like so many other coated devices.

If there was an all-stainless cooker for triple the money even quadruple I'd buy it.

Swiss Diamond Nonstick 11" x 17" Cast Aluminum Double-Burner Griddle

Swiss Diamond Nonstick 11' x 17' Cast Aluminum Double-Burner GriddleI have looked for a double burner griddle for a long time.I researched many of the other brands, Le Creuset, All Clad, Caphalon to name a few.I needed one to work on my glass top electric bridge element.I took a chance on this one, although very expensive, I doubt I will be throwing it out any time soon.I cooked for a crowd at Christmas and made, bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, grill cheese, paninis and more.Loved it. Only used a medium to med high temp. Cooked great, cleaned up great. Did not warp and stayed very flat. I even used it as a cookie sheet and baked scones, sausage balls, cookies...I dont always go for the most expensive stuff, but this is worth the money. Perhaps if you have a gas stove you could use another brand, but for those with smooth glass top electric with a bridge element, this is the one.

Oh btw, I did not see any black stuff when I washed.Wash by hand with soapy warm water. No complaints about clean up. And didnt really need too much effort to clean.Just a wet towel would have sufficed but I like to use dish soap.

This is a non-stick PFOC free griddle you don't need to season it in fact, you really can't.My pancakes were golden. My bacon crisp. My eggs came off without any scraping.Wiped the surface clean.Super.

Ecolution Elements Eco-Friendly Fry Pan Triple Packs

Ecolution Elements Fry Pan Triple Pack, GrayI bought this set of pans for my wife and I. I would have to say that they are average and usable, but not anything to rave about. They were shipped in a box that, when opened, they appeared much as they do in the product photograph. They wore against one another in shipping, adding some scuffs that didn't really hurt anything but were a bit disappointing. Their non-stick surfaces are about middle range quality. Have a screwdriver handy, some of the pans need to have their handles attached, and we found that a couple of the handle screws were loose in the box, so be careful and check before discarding the shipping carton if you buy a set.

I purchased these pans to replace my old T-fal and other non-stick pans with a safer alternative. I have been very pleasantly surprised with these pans. They are the best non-stick surface I've ever had. I also own a Cuisinart pan with a PFOA free coating, and these have a much better "non-stick".

I also have some Ecolution pans which I purchased from a brick and mortar store, and discovered that there are different "lines" of the Ecolution pans. The ones sold here are lighter weight than the other ones I have purchased, but they were also slightly lower in price. I have not seen any noticeable difference in cooking between the two different kinds of pans.

Buy Ecolution Elements Eco-Friendly Fry Pan Triple Packs Now

I like that these pans are eco friendly and do not have the dangers attributed with teflon when it starts to break down and peel after extended use or exposed to excessive heat. I do use my pans on gas heat on a Jenn Air stove top, and recently they have emitted a strong "burnt plastic" smell.I really have no idea if this is due to using too high of heat or if this is what happens after extended use.

Great size for small quantities. Also, customer service from amazon.com in getting this to me in time for Christmas was AMAZING.

I really enjoy cooking with this little pan, it is the perfect size for the nights that I am cooking for just me.

The pan heats quickly and cooks evenly and is easy to clean. I am thinking about buying many more pieces of the Mauviel copper cookware.

I love this pan.The conductivity of copper with electricity, holds true in heat. This pan can cook meat on one side.It conducts heat through. It's hard to explain, but the handle is cast iron, with a powder-coated handle.the 250c series is just iron. That one can go from the burner, straight to the oven. Both can, but powdercoat was put on with an oven; just a thought.

Also, the 250c has a curved lip, mine is straight.Still, the edge feels similar to that of a french sword.Solid, strong; the Mauviel is is a 19th Century company; an so healthy food wasn't the norm. Therefore, in my opinion, the copper needs fat.I like the Mauviel M'Cook2 black anodized series, too.

Nostalgia Electrics HDR-565 Old-Fashioned Hot-Dog Roller

Nostalgia Electrics HDR-565 Old-Fashioned Hot-Dog RollerHot dog cooker works as the manual says it does; the only other review on this item says it is malfunctioning junk and not worth the money. I couldn't disagree more. This is my third cooker in four years (I use them a bunch!) and I still love it like the day I first got it.

Takes about twenty minuets to heat up eight hot-dogs, but they are perfect when they finish! If you use "bun length" dogs or decide like me to buy bratwursts and sausages, you will only be able to fit four at a time on the rollers. I usually cook hot-dogs and bratwursts together, so I can fit four hot dogs and four of the larger items.

It's rough to clean the rollers without submerging the roller mechanism in water, however I never had a problem with the cooker because it was "too dirty to function".

The only other downside is that the gears in the roller mechanism is made of what my father calls "cheap pot metal", which tends to grow over time with enough humidity and water. From living in Florida and having washed my grill several times, the gears can eventually locked up on one of my three models.

Other than that, it is a fantastic machine.

(Also, the place to "heat" the buns is the only thing "bunk" about this product. Nice place to store them though!)

takes a while to cook, but the hotdogs does come out tasting great! only bad thing to say about the product is that the greese and fat from the hotdog itself will drip down in between the cracks of the rollers and in my case will lock up the gear inside.

Buy Nostalgia Electrics HDR-565 Old-Fashioned Hot-Dog Roller Now

plug it in, get power, turn it on high, rollers start rolling. put dogs on rollers, (oh, be sure to use the short dogs, otherwise you will only fit 4, not 8)....And then,...WHERES THE HEAT.... 15 minutes?BUNK.Had them on for over an hour, and NOTHING.....Went through themanual, everything was done correctly.WASTE OF MONEY.Thought this would be cute for camping. It's going back!!

Paula Deen Signature Pantryware Standing Rooster Paper Towel Holder

Paula Deen Signature Pantryware Standing Rooster Paper Towel HolderThis paper towel holder has a nice design, but the base is simply too light.Tearing paper towel requires two hands else the whole thing tips over.

This holder is very pretty to look at but when you hold it you realize how lightweight and cheap it is. It would be much better if a weight was added underneath. The chicken at the top of the holder arrived bent and almost broken off completely. The metal is soft so i gently bent it back to an almost upright position so it is workable. You need to unscrew the chicken every time that you need to change the roll so I hope that it lasts. Definitely not the greatest.
