Smart Planet CPM-1K Keebler Cake Pop Maker

Smart Planet CPM-1K Keebler Cake Pop MakerI bought this for $5 on clearance at CVS shortly after Christmas. The cake "balls" came out perfectly round and evenly baked. Some tips: take a "practice run" with it first, so you get to know which spots bake more quickly & fill those spots LAST. If the cake "balls" seem to brown more on one side, flip them over as soon as they are baked enough to do so. (I use a small "flipping utensil that came with my George Foreman grill). I used the advice in the booklet that is included, and use my batter at a "toothpaste-like" consistency. I have friends that have more trouble with their expensive cake pop makers than I do with my $5 one ;)

wish it came with more/better instructions besides *cake batter must be thick* ok I didn't have any of the cake batter they listed so I used another don't recommend just cutting down. Also regular frosting is a no go you must have experience at making candy (like truffles) to make a thin coating.Other than that, it is a great gift for the kiddos

Okay I got this for Christmas, and literally it was the only thing I asked for since I wanted a cake pop maker. I used it a couple days after with just a regular boxed cake mix and they turned out awful. They were only half circles. I'm going to get a cake pop mix and hopefully that turns out better

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch Skillet

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch SkilletUnfortunately this item was returned due to the poor workmanship. I debated whether to keep it or not since it is only around $10 with free shipping piggybacked with another item I ordered, but the flaws were just too obvious to ignore, and I know I will not feel good about using it. There were many sharp unfinished edges from the casting and a few rusty patches on the cooking surfaces as well. The posted picture with this item does not seem to adequately show its true design and dimensions. On the top of the list, the handle is also annoyingly too short, making it really awkward to use. A better made and designed version is available CostPlus for 5.99 at their retail store.

I was hoping for a pan in which I could make an over-easy egg for breakfast but the bottom of the pan is so rough that when you remove the egg, there are small black pieces on the egg.I didn't want to get my iron for the day by eating fragments from a cast iron pan. I have seasoned the pan over and over and nothing changes.

When I ordered this product I didn't realize how small this is.I can only scramble about one egg on it.However, for the price you can't beat a real cast iron pan.I use this almost daily and so far there is no sign of any wear and tear on it.

Disney Pancake Pans - Mickey Mouse

Disney Pancake Pans - Mickey MouseThought this would be a fun way to re-create the Disney Magic at home. This pan is VERY poor quality. Super small, the metal is so cheap that it doeesn't hold the heat at all causing the outside to burn before the inside cooks . The edging makes it impossible to flip the pancake..and this is not non-stick. I tried several times and they all fell apart. Honestly this pan isn't worth $2.00. The only thing I can do with this pan is hang it in my kitchen as a decorative item.

This pan is Cheap, flimsy, anddoesn't hold heat.Is not worth a penny. Save your money.Great idea, but not worth it.

Fagor Duo Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker

Fagor Duo Stainless-Steel 6-Quart Pressure CookerI had a Kuhn Rikon and still have a Presto pressure cooker. I got rid of the Kuhn Rikon. I love the Fagor Duo. The Kuhn Rikon design is a real pain if you have an electric stove. It is probably almost acceptable if you have a gas stove. The Fagor models work equally well on either type stove. Also, along the same lines, the Fagor and the Presto designs are much more forgiving. You better plan on watching a Kuhn Rikon very closely -especially on an electric stove -but also on a gas range. It can get to an over pressure situation easily. Granted you will likely just blow out part of your gasket (the safety measure) if you get distracted. Who needs that? You better have an eagle eye and fast reactions to maintain a reasonably constant pressure inside your cooker with an electric stove.

You do lose some steam with a Fagor though typically much less than with a Presto model. (You lose nearly no vapor with a Kuhn Rikon -that is about their only big selling point in my book.) The Fagor model uses a compressed spring to regulate pressure. The Presto uses a weight on top of a vent pipe -this combination is called a jiggler valve -to regulate pressure. To regulate pressure with a Kuhn Rikon you basically watch a rising spring loaded pressure indicator and adjust the heat as needed. Gas heat is more quickly adjustable than electric. You have to either hope for the best as you crank the heat up and down with an electric stove or play hop scotch between a too hot and a too cold burner. On the Fagor Duo there are two spring compression settings. You can cook at 8 psig or 15 psig. 15 psig is the normal setting used for most pressure cooking. For delicate foods, like fish, or if you are in no particular rush the 8 psig setting will come in handy.

Bottom line is I like the Fagor the best of the three pressure cookers I discussed, next I like the Presto. The Kuhn Rikon is built like a tank and it is an interesting design. I just don't like it as well as the Fagor's and I am a both a mechanical engineer and I cook for a hobby. I'd like to think my opinion is an informed one.

I use to own an electric pressure cooker, and after many scorched meals, decided to try a stove-top model. It was the best move I could have made!18/10 stainless, surrounding aluminum on the bottom has kept every meal scorch-free.I feel completely safe using this pressure cooker. It locks easily, and the dial indicating if the pot is at pressure and if it is at high or low pressure is fool-proof.There is nothing complicated about using this pressure cooker.I just can't say enough about this pot. I have cooked professionally, and I have cooked for many years.I would not be exaggerating if I told you that this is the best-loved piece of cookware that I own.Fagor has produced an outstanding product.

Buy Fagor Duo Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker Now

About eight years ago I purchased the Fagor Duo 8-quart pressure cooker and have loved using it since my purchase. The pan is made of heavy duty stainless steel which cooks evenly and foods come out tasting like they are supposed to. No off tastes just well prepared food.

Once the pressure cooker reaches pressurization the cooker quietlycooks a tasty meal in minutes. Once in awhile you may hear a slight hiss but that's about it.

And finally, I think Fagor uses a standardized gasket for almost all of their pressure cookers. You can check with Fagor to confirm this.

Another plus is the ability to rapidly depressurize the cooker by turning the the knob to steam release. No more taking the pressure cooker to the sink to run water over the pan to quickly release the pressure.

I've cooked pot roasts, porcupine meatballs, soups, stews, ribs, and even rice pudding in my Fagor pressure cooker. All turned out great!

Read Best Reviews of Fagor Duo Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker Here

Just got this pressure cooker a few weeks ago and we love it!Solid, well-built, easy to use/clean--if you're looking for a top-quality pressure cooker at a reasonable price, this is the one to buy!

We purchased a Presto 6-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker from Amazon about a year ago for $48.99.We were looking for a decent stainless steel pressure cooker without spending a ton of money. While the Presto is reasonably well made and you certainly can't argue with the price, in our opinion the Fagor Duo is 5 times the cooker at less than twice the price of the Presto. We're really sold on pressure cookers (the flavor, the time savings, etc) so much so that we decided to do our research and get a quality pressure cooker this time even though it would cost more. After a lot of research, we decided on the Fagor Duo.

First, I'd like to address some complaints about this item mentioned by some other reviewers here. I truly believe that many complaints come from people who didn't read and/or didn't understand the owner's manual, and trust me, when cooking with a pressure cooker you NEED to read the manual!!

For example, someone mentioned that it was hard to tell when this unit came up to pressure, and I couldn't disagree more! There is a plastic yellow rod built right into the handle that pops up about 3/8" when the unit develops the desired pressure, plus, with mine any hissing from escaping steam also stops once the proper pressure is achieved. I find this style of pressure indicator MUCH easier to use than the old "rocker-top" style cookers.Additionally, once pressure is achieved and you reduce the cooking temperature, the Fagor Duo maintains pressure MUCH better than our Presto rocker-top pressure cooker--in fact our Presto cooker was so finicky in this regard (you have to verrrrry slowly reduce the temperature or else the rocker stops rocking and you have to increase the temperature again.....) that we decided to get one of the newer style pressure cookers like the Fagor.

Someone else complained about putting the lid on wrong and having it jam.First of all, it's EXTREMELY difficult to put the lid on wrong--Fagor even engraves a mark on the lid of this pressure cooker that you line up with the handle to ensure easy and proper locking of the lid every time.In fact, that was another thing we didn't like about our Presto 6-quart pressure cooker--lining up the locking notches on the lid on was always a bit of a struggle, but the Fagor Duo model makes putting on the lid very simple.Again, reading the owner's manual (or watching the included Fagor instructional DVD) is VERY IMPORTANT!

Some of the features that we like the best are: The Fagor Duo is much wider at the base than the Presto cooker which is not only more stable, but also gives you more surface area for browning meats prior to pressure cooking. The Fagor Duo comes with a nice stainless steel steamer basket, an informative instructional DVD on pressure cooking, a well thought out and comprehensive owner's manual, AND a nice recipe book that includes over 50 recipes! It also has a very handy steam release valve built into the cooker lid that allows you to quickly vent the pressure (in order to open the lid after cooking is complete) without having to lug the heavy pot over to the sink to run cold water on it, or wait the 5-10 minutes for the pressure to drop by itself. There's also two pressure settings (thus the name "Duo") so that you can cook/steam delicate foods like veggies, fish, etc at a lower pressure.

All in all we couldn't be happier with the Fagor Duo.We considered a Kuhn 8 quart pressure cooker, but the $200 price tag for the Kuhn combined with the great reviews for the Fagor Duo make our decision easy.

If you're new to pressure cooking, don't make the same mistake we did by buying a lesser unit to save money, just bite the bullet and get the Fagor. With it's build quality and 10 year warranty it should give you many, many years of great service!

The pressure cooker caught my eye after watching Iron Chef.I too wanted to cook faster with awesome results. This pressure cooker does that.I am amazed by the variety and possibilities the device has opened up to me.Potato Soup in five minutes, chicken stock in under 20 and stuff cabbages that are out of this world;all brimming with big flavor.

My recommendation is to buy it.I could not substantiate handles breaking or any failings from a cooking or manufacturing stand point. The pot is solid. It is super easy to use and seems as safe as any other pot.Check out the vid review to see it for yourself.

Emeril by All-Clad E9209964 Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Fry Pan with Lid Cookware, Black

Emeril by All-Clad E9209964 Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Fry Pan with Lid Cookware, BlackThe Non-Stick pan is above average, but not as good as the Emeril Stainless steel pan. I figured it would be the same pan with an Anodized/non-stick coating on it, but I was mistaken. It does not heat as evenly around the pan as the stainless steel Emeril pan, nor is it as heavy duty. The non-stick portion is pretty good, but it will scratch VERY easily (just like any non-stick I think). However, it is a decent pan and far better than any generic/disposable pan you would get at Walmarts or Sears. I would say it is about the same quality as a mid-range Calphalon pan. Which is surprising, because this pan is actually made by All-Clad. For he price you can't go wrong. I certainly wouldn't pay over $40 for the pan though. If you are looking to pay more than that, I would recommend a Higher end Calaphalon or All-Clad pan.

In short, you would be hard pressed to find a better non-stick pan for $40 or less. However, you can get better quality if your willing to fork out the bucks. If you don't absolutely have to have non-stick surface, then get the Emeril Stainless steel pan (also around $35/$40). FAR better quality for the same price!!

First one showed up with broken glass lid. Second one arrived a week later.

I have used this about a month, I use it about 3 or 4 times a week.Coating is already showing signs of wear.My old cheapy 12 inch was a full 12 inches at the top edge, the inside was 10 and a quarter inches. This unit immediately curves in to 11 and a half inches where the lid sits, and is only about 8 and a half inches where the food sits. That's a chinzy design for a $40 skillet.I would not buy this again.

I was very excited to order this pan as it came highly recommended from these reviews, and the Emerilware line was highly recommended by a friend who is a professional chef.

So naturally I'm kinda underwhelmed and disappointed that out of the box the nonstick coating was worn down and even scratched along the rim of the pan (looks like damage from the metal lid being on the pot.

Returned that pan for a replacement in hopes that it was just a defect with that individual pan, but indeed I just opened my 2nd pan and although it's not as bad as the first pan, the coating is again worn down in places along the top portions. So if it arrives brand new this way I have no confidence that the coating will last for any reasonable amount of time.Sending this one back and looking at a different brand.

I was looking for a match to some older pans we had, which were T-Fal with the red logo on the bottom. Found out, these are the newer models! This is a great aluminum pan, and the handle bolts on somehow with a big phillips screw. This means no dimples/rivet heads in the pan! Only smooth, coated non-stick surface! I really enjoy the large 12 1/2" size too!

The bottom is a shiny aluminum, with a circular pattern in it. Looks kind of like a vinyl record pattern. The outside walls are grey, and the inside coated with non-stick. Also, the picture here makes it look like a deep pan. I am not sure if they used a different size pan, or the image got squished, but the pan is a lot wider, and the sides are normal height in regards to the traditional saute pan.

I sent for some matching, smaller pans too. They all work great, and match too! I have to admit, I never used aluminum pans before, but they are working out great! I am very happy with this item!

Want T-FAL/WEAREVER Initiatives10" Gray Saute Pan Non-Stick Interior & Exterior Discount?

First, I think expensive non-stick is a waste since the cookware has to be resurfaced or replaced once it's scratched or worn.I was looking for a super slick inner surface for not a lot of buck. The T-Fal pans were it.

The inside of the pans are very slick. They are not heavily textured like other pans. This seems counter-intuitive to me; expensive pans want to last longer so they texture their surface yet that adds more surface area for the food to stick to.As an example, I have a harder time cleaning the bottom of the pans than I do the inside.

The thickness of the pan is thin.It is thick enough to even low and medium flames but it cools very quickly.

My only complaint is the handle.Even as tight as the screw will go, two of my handles still move slightly side-to-side.It's not enough to affect cooking, but it's annoying.

Overall, I'm very happy with spending $17 for a super slick pan.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 5-Quart Saute Pan with CoverI have only Calphalon cookware in my home. Decided to try the tri-ply stainless line for the first time. This saute pan is a great size, weight, and shape for cooking lots of food, and I got a really good sear. However, the pan warped significantly after the first time I used it. I can't believe something with the Calphalon name on it was of such poor quality. This will be returned, and I am considering trying the All-Clad alternative..

I purchased this 5 quart sauce pan and also the 2 1/2 quart sauce pan from the same triply stainless steel line. The 5 quart is thinner than the 2 1/2 quart.and, as an aside, the 2 1/2 quart is perfect. But this 5 quart one does not sit flat, and is somewhat thin, so the cooking is uneven, and cleaning is cumbersome, as some places burn and others do not.note that i followed the cooking instructions from calphalon and still everything cooks unevenly.i had to return it.i normally like calphalon products a lot.

Buy Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover Now

First of all, this is a beautiful piece of cookware. I believe the reviews that have been written are a little misleading. I haven't experienced any food burning or pan warping at all and after several times of usage. The first thing I noticed about this pan is that it heats very quickly -and evenly. Right away I noticed that what I used to saute on medium heat could now be sautéed on low heat. As long as the pan is oiled, there should be no problems with food sticking to the pan either. Also, cleaning has been a breeze. This is a great purchase so far, and I would definitely recommend it. For those who are switching over from using other metal materials, take the time to observe how your purchase is reacting to your stovetop. This pan, and the rest of the Tri Ply line, is wonderful.

Read Best Reviews of Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover Here

One purpose of a sauté pan is searing meat, which turns it brown and gives it excellent flavor via the Maillard reaction. Just read in any cookbook or watch any cooking show episode where there's a recipe that involves this high-heat process, and the standard tool for doing this will be a sauté pan. Not this pan, however. In spite of it being advertised and rated as safe for induction, coiled electric burners, etc., it warped like a fresh 2x4 on a hot summer day when I used it on my coil stove. Adding food made the domed-out warping even worse; the food absorbed heat from the inside surface, causing it to cool and contract while the outside remained hot and expanded. The stove's heat setting goes from low to high on a 0-10 scale, and I used it at 7. The bottom was eventually so round as to make cooking dangerous (and heating uneven). On an electric stove, I wouldn't use this pan except for low to medium-temperature braising.

Want Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover Discount?

The pan is an expensive piece of cookware (I paid retail of $150 for mine), but it does not perform up to my high expectations for this pan. It is just okay.

For the price I expected the pan to cook more evenly than it does. It is not bad, but not great.

Also, the pan is heavy...very heavy. Since the handle is round when the pot is full of casserole or meat I worry that it will slip out of my hands while pulling it out of the oven. (Yes this pan is intended to be used on the cooktop and then placed in the oven for the finishing texture.)

Even though this pan is not perfect, I must admit that I use this pan all the time (probablymore than any other pan in my kitchen) since the size is fantastic for so many dishes. It can make spaghetti for 20, a giant casserole, a whole chicken plus veggies, or paella. Everyone who comes to my house comments on how it is the perfect size, but I can't say that I love it, I just like it.

Bought the 20 pc set and 15" Oval Roaster from HSN in October 2005.Paid $179 and $59 respectively and considered it a deal due to the 75 year WARRANTY.

The cookware has held up decently, I am fairly careful with it and have been very satisfied cooking in it.The roaster is used 4 or 5 times a year to bake small turkeys, a roast with veggies or to heat a precooked spiral ham....very little use.I just used it to heat a ham for Easter and the non stick surface bubbled and peeled from the bottom and sides of the pan.Looked up my purchase paperwork and called the customer service number to be told by HSN that they do not honor the warranty and as far as they are aware the Ultrex company is no longer in business.

If you choose this cookware, BEWARE and pay only what you would for a set that you know will have to be replaced. The claims about the longevity of the nonstick surface are definitely untrue and the promised warranty is not there. So Sad!

I just now found out Ultrex cookware was recalled years ago because it is dangerous. The coating can separate from the pan and be forcefully propelled from the pan.I had no idea until now.I bought two sets from HSN and they never notified the customers that the product was dangerous. The Ultrex company went out of business as soon as they realized the product was unsafe so that they would not have to cover the lifetime warranty. As usual, HSN claims no responsibility for endangering lives.Furthermore, it is illegal to resell a recalled product. Please do not buy or use this product.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick Panini Pan and Press

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick Panini Pan and PressI was looking at electric panini grills, but didn't really want another appliance that I would have to store on a shelf or cupboard.I found the Calphalon panini grill pan to be easy to use, clean and store. It goes on the stovetop.I preheat the pan with the stainless steel lid, while I put my sandwich together. Then I brush the pan and bread with olive oil, put the sandwich on the pan and put the lid on top of the sandwich.I let it grill for a few minutes, turn over the sandwich and grill the other side.I get those great grill marks, and the lid helps flatten the sandwich and heats it too.I've also used the pan for salmon fillets, hamburgers, sausages. It does a beautiful job.Cleans up well because it's nonstick! Easy to store as well. Love this pan!

I purchased this pan last fall and I love it! It not only makes great panini's, it's wonderful to grill chicken breasts, steaks, veggies and even hamburgers! Of course, I originally purchased it to make panini's, but one evening it was raining and we were to have grilled chicken breasts on the outdoor grill. I grilled the chicken in the panini pan on my stovetop and wa-la, it performed wonderfully! The lid is heavy, but the pan isn't, so if you have concerns over its weight especially if you have issues with your hands/wrists as I do, just lift the pan and lid seperately. Enjoy it and experiment!

After reading all the reviews of the other mechanized panini presses my wife and I decided to go with the stove top method and I can say I am impressed. The very first paninis I made this morning were nothing short of spectacular. The paninis browned evenly on both sides (I used extra virgin olive oil or EVOO as Rachel Ray likes to say on the outside of the sandwich), the inside ingredients cooked/melted and the press really keeps the sandwiches squashed together.

The only downside (if you can call it that) is this product can not go into the automatic dishwasher. It comes with several warnings that it must be handwashed. But for such a magnificent cooking utensil I'm more than willing to baby it.

If you (like we were) are debating between the more expensive machine presses vs this less costly alternative you won't go wrong with choosing this panini pan & press.

This was the most reasonably priced, quality panini maker I could find. It also requires very low heat to toast the bread nicely (found that out the hard way burned the first two sandwiches) so I guess in that sense you could also label it energy-efficient.

Cucina Pro 1447 Cordless Crepe Maker

Cucina Pro 1447 Cordless Crepe MakerGreat little kitchen gadget. We used the simple batter recipe that came in the booklet and it was delicious. The directions were clear and easy to follow and the crepes turned out perfectly. Please note that you don't need one of those t-shaped spreaders (Amazon suggested I buy them with the maker and now I've gotta send them back). The device comes with a shallow plastic pan that you fill with batter and then you dip the face of the crepe maker in it.The batter coats the cook surface evenly and no spreading is necessary.

Making crepes was fun and easy and we had a great time exploring the fridge to figure out what to put in them next.Nutella, whipped cream, shredded cheese, deli slices, fruit, leftovers...We were all grownups but I would think this would be a great cooking activity to do with kids.

For price, ease of use, entertainment value and delicious results, I give it a thumbs up.

I had always wanted to try making crepes but was intimidated by how difficult everyone made the cooking process sound. My husband bought this for me and my first try was a resounding success.I was a little worried that this would be one of those gimmicky kitchen gadgets that doesn't really work, but it does a great job.I actually have a lot of fun using it, and it goes really fast.

This is way easier than stove top crepes.

David (who does not like the crepe) is wrong when he says the crepe is magically supposed to fall off the crepe maker. You peel it off easily. It ain't rocket science David. I guess it is just hard to please some people.

This product is a good deal.

I was looking to replace my old non-stick skillet that I used primarily for cooking eggs. The old one had lost its non-stick coating. When I saw this one recommended on America's Test Kitchen over all the other contenders, most of which cost quite a bit more, I bought it. I don't regret buying it. The non-stick works very well and, while not thick as many I have used, it heats evenly without hot spots. I will soon buy another one.

Light weight, easy to clean, non-stick surface is durable and works, nice shape and depth for omelets and eggs or grilled sandwiches. Cooks evenly, good heat distribution. One of the better pans of this type I have bought, this is my 2nd one.

Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid - 8 in.

Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid - 8 in.This the best non stick I've had! Heavy so it holds the heat. NOTHING sticks to it. Expensive? Yes, but worth it.

Try it, you"ll like i.

I bought this pan because Swiss Diamond cookware was top rated by Consumer Reports in their latest cookware test. So far, no matter what I cook in it, it just wipes clean. This size is great for scrambling 1-5 eggs and is also great for making a single grilled cheese sandwich. It has the slipperiest surface of any pan I've ever used. Metal utensils can be used with it too, though I haven't done so. The mfg mentions that it is dishwasher safe, but then says if you routinely run it through your dishwasher, the finish of the pan will degrade over time. In any case, since it just wipes clean, there's no need to put it in the dishwasher.

Oneida Gourmet Pro Stainless Steel Saute Pan

Oneida Gourmet Pro Stainless Steel Saute Pan, 10-InchVery nice pan for an extremely reasonable price.Have used it several times since purchase & find I can use it at lower temperatures than my "cheapie" nonstick pan the disc on the base of the pan holds the heat better.I think this will lengthen the life of the pan.Was also impressed with the warranty.

I have other pans from this manufacturer, but couldn't find this size locally. So happy to have 3 sizes of this great pan.

Works for induction stoves but not real well. It doesn't appear to have a real solid magnetics as it makes clicking noises during heat up and maintenance phases

Really Nice Pan. This was more expensive than another Oneida pan the same exact size. It's got a nice heavy bottom and balances nice on the burner. It's better than to original one we bought in a set. I'm sure it was worth the extra few bucks. I'm sure the cheaper one was like the first on I had. This is noticeably nicer. I would spring the extra few buck for this one.

I had exactly the same experience as Jamadan above. Non-stick just did not hold up. To quote:

"It didn't last but 3 months before losing it's non-stick surface. And we're very careful about not allowing it to get hot and we don't use anything that scratches it. It just plain stops being non-stick and won't even wash off cleanly. I have to classify this one as a worst-buy avoid at all costs."
