Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan: 10'I'm not sure about the reviewer who said the pan sticks. This pan is so easy and perfect to cook with. I have made fried eggs, fish, chicken, sauces, pancakes and more. I barely have to use any oil at all. Definitely love this and glad I took the chance to spent $100 on a pan.

This is my favorite pan and I have had it for at least a year. The trick to this product is to really not to wash as often as you can but to wipe it clean.Use a little oil if you must but it looks like the day I purchased it.I only wish it had a lid, but I make my own with aluminum foil then toss it after cooking. I have put it in the dishwasher and it comes out very clean and ready for use so please don't think I mean to not wash it often. I plan to purchase another one for sure.

I have bought all three sizes, they are fabulous to cook with, even heat distribution, cannot believe how slippery the surface is, food slides right out.If you never buy another pan buy at least the 12 inch if only one but the 10 inch is also awesome. Just frigging amazing ceramic coating. Don't wait!!!!!!!

I don't know what our how the previous reviewer used this pan, but I have been using it for several months in a professional restaurant and it works flawlessly.I throw this pan into the oven all the time, cleanup is easy if you let it soak for a minute.

This pan is everything it is advertised to be.I have done scrambled eggs in it and they did not stick at all and clean up was a breeze. I intend to buy 2 more of different sizes. I have used another brand of non-stick pans and have noticed an odd chemical odor when you cook with them. Also, the finish comes off on the food. So far, I am very pleased with this product.

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 8 Inch Saute Pan

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 8 Inch Saute PanI disagree wholeheartedly with the other review; not only is Nordicware the best saute pan I've ever used; It has better a non-stick surface than any other piece of cookware I've ever used; baking pans, roasting pans included.

It looks great; it has a beautiful look; however, works extremely well. The handle never heats up, despite it being all-metal. Thanks to this lovely feature, I can also use it in my oven twice a week. :D It is also American-Made and a tremendous value. I wouldn't trust anything from China that touches my food for a second. It's not safe.

I would not purchase this pan again. It was supposed to be durable and non-stick. I was very dissatisfied with it's performance.

Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 9-1/4-Inch and 11-Inch Skillets Twin Pack, Blue GradientI was very excited about owning my first set of Rachel Ray pans! The color is fabulous and the handle is just the right size with good grip. I have cared to these pans just as instructed; hand wash, low-medium heat, no oil. I was very disappointed when the nonstick finish began to chip off within weeks of use. I'm glad I did not invest in the larger cookware set.

I love my new skillets.I use them every day for breakfast and dinner. So glad I ordered them. Thanks.

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer SetThis was the 2nd choice of America's Test Kitchen. The first choice was about $350.I am very pleased with this steamer.I have used it to cook mustard greens, boil corn on the cob, and cook down apples for apple butter. It is well-made with a heavy bottom. It stays shiny like new, cleans up easily, and is so useful for larger cooking needs.Since buying this I have also purchased a complete set of pots by Cuisinart.Very good quality cookware.

We decided on the pot after wanting either All Clad or Le Cruset for a long time. But the cost for those brands is so high we decided to look at other brands. We looked at Calphalon, Analon, Cuisinart and JC Penny's house brand. After weighing all the prices and quality the decision to buy this pot seemed like a good one. Now we have used this pot 15-20 times we think it is an even better value. It is a great product. Heating is even and fast, things stay warm for a long time and cleanup is a snap. Of course if you want something you can throw in the dishwasher buy something else other than stainless. To keep these in tip shop shape they need to be hand washed, but it is definitely worth it.

I bought this to replace an older smaller pasta cooker.I have about 20 pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware but couldn't justify spending over $100 for a large stockpot. The only notable difference is that the Multiclad has the sandwiched aluminum all the way up the sides of the pot.Not really necessary I thought for something I would use mostly for boiling water.Besides, the heat source is only really from below and that extra multiclad surface only adds to the weight.

I love the shiney exterior and the large capacity compared to my previous pasta pot. The steamer insert is a nice little extra but I'm not sure I'd want to haul out this enormous pot just to steam a few veggies. The lid is more domed than Cuisinart's standard lids and has a more sculpted handle.Cleanup is easy but only if you have a very large sink. The handles on both the pot and insert are solid and appear to be very securely attached.

So what's not to like?

This pot was a lot bigger than I anticipated. So large in fact that it doesn't fit in my normal cookware drawer.I ended up having to divide the pot from the insert just so it would fit in the cabinets. And that domed lid just adds to the height. The insert didn't need to stick out of the pot as far as it does and the handles on the insert come out further than those on the pot itself.Where the pot will barely fit, the insert won't just because of the handles. The other problem with the height of this pot comes when you try to use it on your stove.I nearly have to stick my head under the fan hood to see inside it!

The inside of both the pasta insert and the steamer basket won't drain completely. There are no drain holes along the bottom outer edges so the water continues to drip after removing it from the pot whenever it's tilted.I'm also not sure why they made the outsides of the insert and steam basket so shiny but made the insides brushed. This is almost the opposite of their fry pans.A shiny smooth inside would have made cleanup easier without the use of Teflon.

It would have received 5 stars except for these minor issues.

Amazon's size specs are off, so I took out my ruler and this is what I discovered:

The cladded base of the pot is 9.5 inches diameter, the interior space on the pot is about 10 or 10.5 inches diameter, and then the lips flare out a little bit near the stop (for easier pouring without drips) to 11 inches diameter.

The pot is about 9 inches tall, plus another 2 inches or so for the pasta insert, plus another few millimeters for the steamer insert lip, and then the lid and lid's handle adds another 1.5-2 inches or so.The total height is thus roughly 13 inches.

I own a lot of Cuisinart MultiClad Pro and Tramontina TriPlyClad, among other pieces, and I like this stockpot. For boiling water, you don't really need the extra weight and expense of cladded aluminum running up the sides, as the water itself will be the thermal conduit, through convection.

Big thumbs up for having holes on both the bottom AND the sides of the steamer insert. This design is harder to clog up than steamer inserts with only bottom holes.

Yes the size is inconvenient (would be better if it were shorter and fatter), but if you can deal with it, this is a great multi-pot.

Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized 7-Quart Sauté with Lid

Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized 7-Quart Sauté with LidI have owned Calphalon Cookware for many years and have been mostly pleased with the product. The finish will remain intact for about three years without any problem, but then as light scratches begin to appear your oooking will begin to stick. My biggest disappointment was the "lifetime warranty" Calphalon offers. I sent in my entire set and was denied any type of replacement. Calphalon simply stated that I did not clean my cookware as instructed in the manual. Their claim was that I had put the cookware in the dishwasher which ruined the finish. This was totally untrue as some of my pieces such as this one, could never even fit in the dishwasher. When I appealed the decision they then stated I must have used abrasive cleaners. I appealed both written denials and then appealed to the Customer Service per phone at Calphalon. Finally, the Customer Services Supervisor called me. This ended up with her being so totally "rude" to me on the phone, I actually told her I would not listen to her and hung up. BOTTOM LINE is Calphalon will evidently deny Warranty Claims. I had stopped using Calphalon because of this AND WOULD NEVER BUY IT AGAIN.

This is a great pan.Use for stir fry and large quantities of food. The lid also fits the 10" fry pan.Love Calphalon products and their warranty is great.

When I cook I tend to cook a lot of whatever I'm making.Often that means a lot of cleaning up and many dirty pots. That is where this beast comes in.Make no mistake about, this is one big pan!Fortunately it's not too heavy being made out of aluminium (if was copper like some of my other saute pans it would weigh a ton!).

When I am cooking something that involves first browning meat, then adding vegetables and eventually adding a sauce this pan can hold it all.I can make enough for ten or more people. It is great for:

*Meat pasta sauces like a Ragu (not the brand, the real thing) or Bolognese-stlye meat sauce

*Chicken Korma

*Chili

I even use it for just browning meat without crowding it.This is an affordable pan for it's size.I use it often and it has held up well.If you are not into large quanities you may not need this, but if you have a large family or entertain big groups you could do much worse.

Emeril Stainless Steel 4 Quart Chef's Pan

Emeril Stainless Steel 4 Quart Chef's PanI had been looking for a larger saucier because I needed a 4 qt pan and I like to cook with a whisk. I was going to purchase the Calphalon Tri-Ply 3 qt Chef's pan until I tried it out at BB&B, and discovered that the handle was too short and at an uncomfortable angle for me.

While I was there I looked at the Emerilware, and really liked the handles. I found this pan here on Amazon one of only two 4 qt Chef's pans that I was able to find (the other one was a Calphalon Contemporary that was $159.99 WAY too expensive for me) and based on the good reviews, decided to buy it.

I used it tonight to cook brown rice, and there are some things that I really like about it. While I was skeptical about the disk on the bottom being so much smaller than the diameter of the pot, I found that I could use the small burner on my electric coil stove on high to bring the water to a boil, and then turn the heat down to low for the rice to cook. It cooked evenly and the rice was done much sooner than it is in my older pans. But then, it could also be because I could see through the glass lid (I like glass lids) and was able to tell when it was done, without depending solely on the timer.

Also, I have rheumatoid arthritis and not a lot of strength in my hands, so I really liked the helper handle. Though the handle on the pan lid got hot, the handles on the pan itself remained cool.

So then, why the three stars? After the rice was cooked, I took the lid off the pan and used a metal cooking fork to fluff it up. I always do this, and it was NOT done in an abusive manner. After I washed the pan, I noticed two pits amongst some scratches on the bottom. I could also feel a spot that had what felt like a "burr" on it. Now, I understand that scratches happen on stainless cookware, and I really don't have a problem with that.

However, the pits, IMO, should never have happened. I took the fork and one of my older pans (an Amway Queen multi-ply 18/8 stainless saucepan), and whacked the bottom of it quite vigorously with the pointy end of the fork tines, several times. It left no marks at all.

When I tried the "fork treatment" on the bottom of the Emerilware (ONLY once, and nowhere near as hard as I did it on my old pan I wanted to see if the fork was the culprit), I ended up with a nice row of three tine marks! It just makes me sick...I know it's not the *best* quality cookware, and I didn't expect top-of-the-line All-Clad quality at this price point, but this is stainless steel and you should be able to use metal utensils in it without causing this kind of damage to the surface. At this rate, it will look like it's been through WW III before the month is out.

I'm going to call the company tomorrow and see what they have to say about it, but if they're not helpful, I'm packing it up and sending it back to Amazon.

Too bad. Like I said, I really wanted to love this pan...

ETA :

Well, after reading some other reviews of Emerilware Stainless, talking to my husband, and sleeping on it, I've decided to keep it. While this line used to be decent, it seems that in the last year the company has "cheapened it up" (because, you know, we need more cheap Chinese crap), and when I checked the Amazon return policy, I would have to forfeit half my money. Hubby's laid off, and I'm not willing to do that. Plus, I haven't found any affordable alternatives.

There are still plenty of things I like about the pan, so I'll just think of it and treat it like an inexpensive non-stick pan no metal utensils, and if it gets too bad, I'll replace it.

I previously purchased the three quart Emerilware Stainless Steel Saute Pan with glass lid, manufactured by All-Clad, several months ago and was very pleased with the quality, heft, feel, and the cooking and cleanup aspects of that pan.

I ordered this Emerilware Stainless Steel 4 Quart Chef's Pan two weeks ago and am very happy to report that it is the same great quality as the first one, and cleans and cooks as just as well.

I've ordered many pots and pans over the last eight years and can honestly say that I would have saved myself hundreds of dollars if I had known about the Emerilware Stainless Steel line.

As someone else on this forum stated, it is All Clad quality at 1/4 the price.

Anything smaller is a waste of time. This saucier/chef's pan is a generous size which allows for proper evaporation of liquids while reducing. It is also a great all-purpose pan that can be used for all manner of cooking. The rounded bottom is perfect for stirring, and it provides a nice lip for attaching a thermometer a plus if you're making a syrup or candy and need to keep a close eye on the temperature. This is, however not a deep fry pan, so be careful with heat. Also, be sure to allow water to boil before adding salt to prevent ugly pits in the bottom of your pan..

Emeril Stainless Steel Fry Pans

Emeril Stainless Steel 12 Inch Fry PanI purchased this pan recently and have used it several times.

As other reviewers of other Emeril fry pans have noted, you must get used to cooking with a lower temperature than other more traditional pans, so food won't stick, and won't burn.I have a gas range oven, and it works great so far, using it on the lowest temperature settings.Just warm it up for awhile before use with oil at low setting.

Even without a no-stick surface, as long as you oil it well when using (I have used high quality olive and canola oils), and don't overheat it, it has cleaned up just fine. The interior will stain a bit but that's what Cameo is for.

Note this pan is rather heavy, so not recommended to senior citizens and those who would be impacted as such.It does have a nice feel when using, though.

What I question is the "clad in copper".This is a poor joke on the consumer. The "copper" layer appears to actually be aluminum, with a copper metal PAINT over it.After the second use, the paint was already wearing off, revealing an ugly ring of irregular coloring. So much for "handsome", or whatever marketing term they use.Who knows what they really use.Perhaps some scrap metal?Docked a star for this.

I am fairly certain this pan is made in China.Don't expect an All-Clad made in the USA.

I bought the 8" pan.It stains like crazy. It's also weighted in such as way that the pan tips over very easily (the handle I guess makes it much heavier on one side).I would buy from another company.

Emerilware Stainless 12-Inch Fry Pan

I have been using this particular pan now for about 2 weeks, & I bought it here at Amazon because I am a "Savvy Shopper" who likes to save $$$. This 12" Stainless Steel Skillet by Emerilware is worth every cent I paid for it & THEN SOME! Emerilware is really made by "All-Clad" Metal Crafters who aretops in the business for making Stainless Steel Cookware, & also among the highest in what they charge for it too. NOT WITH EMERILWARE THO, this is why I own the whole set, it is like "All-Clad", "Without Breaking the Bank". I really like the usage of COPPER sandwiched between aluminum & stainless steel,(triple clad) discs on bottom. We all know aluminum is a great conductor of heat, well...COPPER is even better. Your getting "Two Bangs For Your Buck" with his line. And "If That Weren't Enough", because of this "Triple Clad" technology, you can save more $$$ by turning DOWN the flame on your stove while cooking, because of the extra added COPPER! Now who wouldn't appreciate that in this day & age? Before cooking, I just spray the bottom of fry pan w/a little Pam Spray, in addition to that for some foods I use oils. When done cooking, because of the special lip around the top edge of all Emeril's pans, the grease dripping pour out with ease where ever you aim them, NOT all over the place! Clean-up couldn't be more easy. Scrape the pan, run a little water in it to soak a few minutes, empty out the water, sprinkle a little Cameo, or Bar Keeper's Friend, in the bottom, use scrubber w/a little "Elbow Grease", rub out with dish cloth in water, rinse, & your done. Shines like new, & there is no worry that the pan will ever release & transfer those NASTY "PTFE or PFOA" CHEMICALS on your food that you can expect to get w/Non Stick Cookware. Your copper ring around bottom sides may tarnish just like a copper penny does, but that doesn't bother me! There is a nice "Stay Cool Handle" on the pan too, & I don't think that this pan is very heavy-at all! This is why I love Emerilware & own the whole set!All I can say is "GO FOR IT, WHILE THE GETTIN'S GOOD!!!

I went to a close-out store (in the tv commerical, the store's name began with a T, ended with a X.) The shopping cart was not very wide, I couldn't put it in flat, so I put the pan in the cart at an angle. I had two bags of coffee, 3 bags of cookies and two wash towels on top of it when my shopping was done. The check-out girl noticed the fry pan was wrapped, she asked me whether I want another one. Wrapped? It can not be my other items weighted probably 5 lbs. How soft was "the stainless steel"? I did not get another one. Maybe manufacturer sent B grade to close-out store?

Aroma Housewares ASP-137 3-in-1 3-Quart Super Pot with Grill Plate, White/Black

Aroma Housewares ASP-137 3-in-1 3-Quart Super Pot with Grill Plate, White/BlackI use it primarily as a "Mongolian hot pot".It heats evenly and fast with light off to indicate the set temperature has reached. It then maintains at the temperature you set. The capacity of this pot is well suited for four to six people.I also did some grill on it.It works as well.At beginning, I was a little concerned about the "Nonstick cooking surface".Since it is very easy to clean, you do not need to apply too much force on the surface. After eight months use, "Nonstick cooking surface" holds well.I do not see any sigh of scratch or wore out.

I am single and like a good T-bone or strip steak once and a while, but firing up the outside barbecue has become a real pain when all I want is one steak.

This is the answer; cooked two strip steaks and one boneless pork chop on it after I seasoned the grill (per instructions) with Pam, and they were great. Both the dog and I enjoyed them.

When I fist test started it, I turned it on high and gave it a few seconds and Wow!

this baby heats up fast and cooks as fast as a gas barbecue.

I cleaned the pan up as I do any non stick appliance (soak, brush and dish rag clean) as any rough pads or metal objects will do the surface in, even setting it in a metal wire dry rack.

Great buy.

Addendum:

I have purchased another pot as backup just in case the one I am using wears out; this is something I do with most small appliances I really like.

A note: because this is a pot grill, you can add water or beer, or whatever to moisten up the meat you are cooking,

something you cannot do to an outside grill. After you have seared and mostly cooked the meat, bring down the heat to just inside the 'WARMING' (about at the 'I')and let it steam for a while on both sides with your liquid added.

I grilled two chicken cutlets in the Super Pot last night and they came out perfect (375 degrees for 7 minutes, flipping once). Clean-up was painless; the pot pops out of the plastic housing for cleaning, although the manual says the whole thing is immersible. The two cutlets pretty much filled the grill, so it might be too small for more than two people. Now that it's too hot to grill outdoors, I'll be using the Super Pot more often.

Update: Burgers (80 percent lean) turned out great on the grill, too. Seasoned with McCormick's Montreal steak seasoning mix. Grilled at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.

Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Skillet

Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered SkilletThis covered saute pan has quickly become my favorite. Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Skillet

I wanted a good sized pan that was large enough to cook for my family of four without being too heavy or burdensome to clean. This pan easily holds four large sized chicken breasts (for example) and is deep enough to hold larger sauce or stew recipes. However, given is larger depth and surface size, it is not unwieldy to manage due to the comfortable silicone handle and its balanced weight. It is a quality pan with thoughtful details such as the clear lid, which fits snuggly, the stay-cool lid handle and the ease of its cleaning surface. I would not recommend putting this pan into the dishwasher, but cleaning its surface is quite easy and even if the surface is blackened or charred during cooking, with a minute of soaking it comes right off with a soft sponge and very little effort thanks to the non-stick grooved surface. I would highly recommend this pan to anyone who cooks for more than one.

When all of the skillets we had reached the end of their usable lives almost simultaneously, I zeroed in on the Circulon non-stick pans because I have a Circulon griddle which has performed superbly.I really like the contemporary look of this design, and wanted a skillet with a lid, which seems to be hard to come by these days.

I like the skillet. It performs well. However, the handle is not as well balanced, nor as well covered as I would like.Given the size of the pan, it could really use a helper handle on the opposite side, especially given the lack of balance in the one handle.I also think the base could stand to be thicker, as it heats up and loses heat more quickly than I would expect based on high quality cookware I've had in the past.

Cuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid SetCuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid Set

There are a few reasons why I ordered these lids.A good cook can always use an extra lid as some skillets do NOT come with one, would be one of the best reasons.Saying this, I ordered a 9 and 11 inch Paula Deen Skillet set and they did NOT have lids. They are excellent in every other aspect, but I prefer to cover while I cook certain items.

I checked through Amazon and I found these Cuisinart lids that were glass with a stainless steel ring for the seal. The lids not only aid in the cooking process, they seal in nutrients during the cooking process, they also cover the dish after cooking as well.If you have a sneaky cat, like I do, you know what I mean. What an enterprising soul.

These lids are a perfect match and the seal is wonderful. Those in search of lids for your 9 and 11 inch skillets, look no further. These will fit.I am very pleased to find lids that make a perfect seal and being tempered glass you can monitor your cooking process. The glass lid is perfect fit you don't have to worry about steam leaking all over the raised handle and with a quick glance you know how far along you are in the cooking process without taking the lid off.

An epicurean Bon Appetite

Bought these lids about six months ago and have absolutely no complaints so far.

They obviously fit perfectly with the Cuisinart pans. They do condense quit a bit, but what can you expect from steaming food? I have always been able to grab the handles without them being too hot to handle.

Calphalon Everyday 8-In and 10-In Nonstick Omelet 2-Pc Set CT138890PWR

Calphalon Everyday 8-In and 10-In Nonstick Omelet 2-Pc Set CT138890PWRthese are fantastic, heavy, cook great, real profesional.I've bought a lot of Calphalon pieces at amazon, slowly replacing all my wife's pots and pans.If you can get a great price on any calphalon on Amazon, go for it.Make sure you get the covers too.

These pans are solid and well made. The non-stick coating is durable and has held up well for about a year and a half of regular usage. The handles are big, comfortable, and the silicone handle insulates well.

Made in USA is a nice bonus!

I use these two pans every day, and often several times a day.I mistreated my first set, so I turned around and bought a second set after I learned not to use cooking sprays.Wow.These items are top quality and I am SO married to them!

Staub 12" Fry Pan - Grenadine

Staub 12' Fry Pan - GrenadineEverything in this pan cooks evenly, no matter if it is in the center of the pan or on the edges. Along with being my go to fry pan it has now replaced my braising pan and even my wok. And it cleans up beautifuly. I'm already saving for my next Staub pan.
