Cuisinart 630-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 11-Inch Square Griddle
This griddle is exceptional. In the first place, it doesn't stick which is a must for a griddle.I am not a "professional" chef/cook so all I care about is a tool that works well without a lot of "preparation" or "conditioning".This griddle heats uniformily, the handle does NOT get hot, and it DOES NOT stick. In addition, you can use metal tools with it without harming it.
Cuisinart got it right with this griddle. One of the "best kept secrets" of the culinary world in my view.
The no-stick surface is wonderful -nothing sticks and it seems harder and more durable than usual; however, it is light and flimsy. The first time I used it, it warped a bit (and I was careful).
I don't think it heats as evenly as my old one.The bacon cooked nicely, but the pancakes were browner in some areas than others.
I'm looking now for a good cast iron or electric griddle.

We purchased a full set of the Cuisinart Quantanium coated cookware (piece ata time) and noticed that some pieces are thinner than others.
The thicker pieces are nicer and distribute heat better.
This particular piece was too thin and so we returned it.
We like the Quantanium surface because it is strong and easy to clean but
the 11-inch squar griddle warped the first time it was exposed to heat
so it was returned. The griddle leans toward the weight of the handle, so any liquid (oil, eggs, etc.) moves toward that side.Very frustrating! The surface itself is wonderful and non-stick.I use metal spatulas all the time with no scratching.

I've had this pan for 2 years now and use it several times a week. It has held up better than any other non-stick pan I've ever had no chipping or peeling (I only hand wash it). It cleans up easily nothing sicks! It cooks evenly for me. I've had no problems with it and would highly recommend it!
Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Stir Fry Pan
So why only 4 stars? I really would have liked a helper handle. My old pan had that. Perhaps they felt as it was only 12 inches it didn't need one, but even though it is well balanced, I do more than stirfry in it. I make lots of stews and sauces and when full it can be heavy. I also wish they offered a lid; even as an additional purchase. Still, it is one terrific all purpose pan.I am NOT a cook, OK? However, I recently started stirfrying chicken tenders with onions and peppers as a way to healthier eating. The non-stick pan I was using was a little worse for wear so I decided to look into purchasing a wok.
After looking at quite a few online, I chose the Circulon 12-in pan. It turned out to be an excellent choice. It is the perfect size for a family of 3-4. I had narrowed the choices down to this one and a cast iron pan that was highly recommended. I chose the Circulon because of the weight difference. This pan is lightweight, but of good quality and it cooks and cleans beautifully.
I use it almost everyday and highly recommend it.

5 stars means something must be pretty darn special, and this circulon 12 inch stir fry pan qualifies as just that, special. Start with the heavy construction, great shape, high sides to keep food from spilling out, a comfortable soft grip handle, and a hidden ring that you can hang your pan.
I've had and used mine for almost a year. I do not put any non stick in the dishwasher, no matter what it says. I use nylon, silicon, or wooden utensils to extend the life cycle of any non stick pan. Put a little care into this pan and it will reward you. After 10 months my pan still looks new, still completely covered with the non stick, and that is with at least 3 or 4 uses a week.
The non stick really works. I stir fry all the time and when I add oil it's for flavor, when I don't add oil I still have lovely non sticking vegetables, egg, and rice. The pan heats evenly, even on my electric oven. The flatish bottom fits on the burner without tilting and the high sides ensure that I'm not tossing food overboard when I get enthusiastic and channel my inner Guy Fieri and start shaking my pan all over the place.
For the longest time I went the cheap route, buying non stick pans at big box stores and complaining because they were cheap, well yes, they were. When I finally broke down and got a decent pan the difference in quality was amazing. I have huge woks for when I stir fry for the entire family, but for one or two people this pan is my go to, whether I'm simply sauteing eggplant and tomatoes with garlic, leftover rice and egg and bits and Pcs of leftover meals to make a stir fry lunch for one, or anything else I want to make in this pan. there isn't a lid but I just use one of those all size fits all if I need to briefly steam or cover.
I thought the circles in the pan might make it hard to clean or something, but it doesn't interfere with the cooking or cleaning at all. A great pan I highly recommend. I'm saving my pennies to buy more Circulon, although to be honest, for the quality and performance in this pan the price is very fair.

i just got this for christmas.i have other circulon skillets and the hi-low texture is the best, nothing ever sticks.have had the other skillets since last spring and no scratches at all and my son is a skillet destroyer but not these, he will have a hard time scraping these pans to destruction.they wash up very easy and i wish i had discovered circulon about 20 years ago if not longer....it would have saved me a lot of money replacing pans.like i said, i got some of these last spring and i have never had a skillet last this long without getting scratches and having to replace it.my pans just don't last long but i expect these could last for years.this stir fry pan is really big and heavy but not as heavy as the cast iron ones that are toooo heavy.i like the fact they are oven safe and i just can't say enough good about circulon.

This is a very lasting piece of kitchenware.
Since I bought 2 in 1994, I have used them regularly for sauteeing, for omelettes,
frittatas, Chinese stir-fry and other dishes.
These are about as durable as non-stick pans get, IMO.
I even learned to "flip" omelettes, daringly high in the air in these pans.
For the above uses, I highly recommend them.
Emeril by T-fal TG8000002 XL Griller with Two Independent Temperature Controls Removable Nonstick D
I got a great deal from Amazon and it was listed as used but one would never have known it.This item were received in record time. I like the price, the quality and the the way it grills with very little smoke, also it grills just like a regular outside gas grill and I will purchase from this seller again."This was given to a co-worker as a wedding gift from her Amazon wedding registry. The co-worker has told me often how much she loves the T-fal Griller. She said that she hsd used it 3 times in less than a week since receiving it.I used the grill the day I received it, in perfect condition and very well packed! The grill heats up very fast, and it grilled my food to perfection, including grill marks... Cleanup is a breeze, just wiped with a sponge.I highly recommend this product! Word of caution: Be careful moving the grill right after you turn it off...the outside (sides) gets VERY hot!
I bought another one for my son...he loves it too!
Bought this for my parents, they moved and was used to a Jenn-Air in their prior home. They said it works well, hardly any smoke, easy cleanup.

I'm replacing my pans, and found the Swiss Diamond in Madison, WI.It's not a true non-stick, but definitely has many of the properties of non-stick.I use a light spray of oil on it.The pan is true flat, is very conductive, and everything I was looking for.I highly recommend their product line this is the second of their pans that I have bought, and have had the same experience with both.

I now have 3 sizes and love them all.Easy clean up and great cooking.I definitely rate pans 5 star.Lodge Seasoned Finish 10-1/2-Inch Cast Iron Round Griddle
I bought this griddle barely three weeks ago.I didn't really need it, but I thought the price at the time was a bargain ($9.99), and I needed something else around $10 to avoid the dreaded S/H charge.
I have been using cast iron for a long time and still have my firstcast iron skillet that has seen it's share of trials and tribulations over a 20 year period, including bouts in the dishwasher from a roommate who was clueless about any type of cookware. All I had to do was reseason it and it was restored.
I like cast iron because it gets really hot and retains heat, and lasts forever. This griddle is no exception.I already have a pizza stone, but I had a recipe that featured baking the pizza in cast iron cookware, and I wanted to try it so I made it on the griddle. The results were spectacular. The crust browned evenly on the bottom and was nice and crispy, and I cut it and served right from the griddle. The griddle is also perfect for making biscuits.Preheat the pan in the oven for about 10 minutes, then place the biscuits on it and bake as usual.Baking the biscuits on the preheated griddle, makes the bottoms crispy.
I have also used the griddle for grilled cheese, panini's (using the grill press) and quesadilla's.All, in all, I think this is a great piece of cookware that makes a nice addition to my collection of cast iron.I own several pieces of Lodge cookware and have never had any problems like cracking, warping, or twisting.Someone mentioned in an earlier review that the griddle was starting to "discolor" after only 3 uses. It's supposed to "discolor."It goes from its orignial factory finish gray, to hues of brown and eventually coal black with repeated use.
The more you use cast iron, the better it gets.If you use it daily, it will turn black quicker than if you use it on occasion.I still have pieces that I have had in excess of 5 years that are still not black.Since I only use those pieces occasionally, that's to be expected.

I first saw this griddle at a friend's house. We used it to make crepes, and the results were absolutely perfect. Subsequently I've been using mine to grill panini, brown chicken breasts until golden, slowly sizzle perfect salmon filets, and turn out beautifully done steaks and chops. It even works well in the oven to finish cooking a beef or pork tenderloin. Note, I am a serious cast-iron cookware devotee, and I like utensils and tools that are multi-taskers. This griddle fits that bill and stays busy on my stove. Perfect for one person or a couple.
Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 5-Quart Oval Saute Pan with Glass Lid, Orange
I have agonized over this development and had feared that I would be forced to replace my cookware with really thin (light and cheap) aluminum pots and pans. If so, I knew I would be giving up a lot of cooking flexibility and the quality I had learned to rely on and love.
At least, I thought that until Rachael Ray put out her imaginative cooking line! Not only does this five-quart oval saute cook like a dream, it weighs about half of what my other cookware does, has that great helper handle to lift it and serve the contents, and cleans easier than ANY pan that I own at any price.
As a result, I can continue to do what I love -cooking -despite my illness! When you're disabled, you have to give up a lot of things that had been meaningful in your life, not to mention independence. I applaud ANY product that is disabled-compatible.
In reading the reviews for this great pan, I hadn't noticed anyone raving about its weight. For folks like me, that's a really huge deal.
Thanks, Rach! The overall quality and performance of this pan is actually pretty good, as long as you don't try to use the parts of the cooking area that are hanging over the edge of the burner.
The design of this pan is flawed from the start -the oval shape makes for extremely uneven heat distribution, which makes for some rather large cold spots at the outer reaches of the pan. With a round pan, all of the edges are an equal distance away from the edge of the burner. With this pan, the narrow part hangs 1/2" over the burner on each side, while the long section of the oval hangs a full 3.5" over on each side. Very poor design.
I also find this pan to be excessively l-o-n-g... whatever area the marketers claim is saved on the stove top from the narrow design is quickly eaten up by the added length. In reality, this pan offers no advantages over a 9" round pan -unless you consider having a 'warming section' in your saute pan to be an advantage.
I bought this pan only because my wife wanted it for Christmas (a year ago). It is the last oval pan I will ever purchase.
Edit: After using this pan for almost two years, I have upped my rating to 3 stars, mainly because I am impressed with the build quality. The non-stick coating is still completely intact -something I was pleasantly surprised with considering the way my Cuisinart Anodized non-stick pan surfaces degraded in a similar time-frame. I would rate the build quality of the Rachel Ray pan very close to that of the Emerilware pan that I own (which is made by All-Clad). I still think the oval shape is a poor design, but I am very pleased with performance if I don't try to use the outer edges.

First, I really like this pan, I use it frequently. Because I use it frequently, I noticed some wear in the middle of the pan. The middle of the pan is discolored and has lost some of it's non-stick ability. I noticed this pan doesn't cook as well on the edges because most of the heat is concentrated to the middle, which would explain the wear and discoloration in the middle. It would also be nice if I could see my food in the pan through the lid, but it is always really fogged up. I'm not sure if that is normal or not so I'm not complaining about that too much. On the other hand, this pan is lightweight and sturdy. The handles stay cool and the grip is great, as well as the helper handle. It cleans up really well. I just hope I won't have to replace it sooner than later due to the wear in the middle. Overall, I am happy with this pan and do believe it to be of good quality, but it could be better designed to distribute more heat to the edges and not wear so much in the middle.Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10- and 12-Inch Omelet Pans, Set of 2

These pans have excellent heavy bottoms. I don't have too many gripes, except it would have been nice if the handles were welded to the outside instead of being bolted in. Stuff will stick to the bolts.
I just cook neater and avoid the bolts, and I'm fine.
We use these pans for literally EVERYTHING that can be cooked on a stovetop!

*** UPDATE *** September 10, 2008
Excellent product UNTIL we had guests who "helped us" clean up and put them in our super heavy duty dishwasher... After that, the finish was never the same. I have ALWAYS hand washed my non stick pans. I'm afraid the trip through the dishwasher killed them. Now, our dishwasher is brutal, much more harsh than the average dishwasher, i have to admit.
We still use them, I'm a fan of the heavy bottoms and even distribution of heat. But now, I have to use cooking spray to keep food particles from sticking :(

These are the pans that get used in my house almost every day. They are heavy which distributes the heat evenly, but make the big one difficult to carry when it's full. The nonstick surfaces are better than most, but don't last forever. After about 4 years of frequent use, they started sticking a bit.Read Best Reviews of Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10- and 12-Inch Omelet Pans, Set of 2 Here
After 3 years of use, my skillets were starting to show wear on the bottom and the coating was just starting to come up a little bit.I've never put them in the dishwasher or used any utensils other than plastic but I know I have sometimes set the skillets inside of each other or let other dishes sit inside of them while in the sink.
I followed the instructions on Calphalon's web site for the warranty and returned the skillets paying about $12 for shipping.I didn't need an RMA number or to contact the company just wrote a letter outlining what they ask on the website (name, address, problem, etc.) and shipped (and tracked) them.About 2 1/2 weeks later in the mail I got 2 brand new skillets shipped to me from Calphalon same size and type I had sent to them, but brand new.
I'm very impressed with their customer service and plan on taking extra special care of my skillets and will hang them on a pot rack and make sure to not stack them in each other and follow all other instructions and hope that the coating doesn't come off. But, if it does, I know Calphalon will take care of it, and for $12 shipping much better than buying new skillets!

A non-stick skillet is a kitchen workhorse. For today's home cooks, the skillet may serve its traditional role of frying and sauteing, but in addition, for the cook in a hurry, a follower of Jaques Pepin and Rachael Ray, the skillet may replace a pot when there are liquids to be reduced, since the wider top offers more room for evaporation. While a traditional skillet may be prefered for developing a fond, the carmelized bits of food that add flavor to a dish, many of us would sacrifice a bit of flavor for an easy clean-up. While non-stick skillets won't make a good pan sauce, they have an edge when it comes to cooking delicate foods such as eggs, or thin fish. Every cook whose aspirations go beyond microwaving a frozen dinner should have a competent 12" non-stick skillet.
That said, non-stick surfaces have a limited life, and so it's wisest to watch the price. The bargain price for these two pans is an attraction, although, while the box says it's a limited time offer, I've seen this deal at the same price for some time now.Beyond that, when Cook's Illustrated rated inexpensive non-stick skillets, their top rated 12" skillet was about $33 -not enough to break the deal.
That said, the two skillets for around $50 is a good value. While a 10" skillet may be less versatile than a 12", it may be a good idea to have one around if you have a small kitchen, or a smallish stovetop, and no way of fitting two large pans side by side. The sloping sides of this set, aside from having a modern look, are an aid in removing food neatly, and are a real boon for those trying to learn how to make a neat omlette.Durability seems good, and while heat distribution isn't perfect, it seems to be on a par with similar pans I've used.
The handles stay cool over long cooking time, and the non-stick coating generally cleans easily.
In sum, these are good everyday pans at a favorable, but not dramatically inexpensive price. If you're shopping for skillets in this general price range, the two-fer deal should rate a place on the short list, but there's no real wow factor. The price is good for the two pans together, but if you're unlikely to use them together, you may be better off with a marginally more expensive skillet at a lower net cost.

This handle has never been a good fit for any of my pans.I have burned myself, when it has slipped off while I was lifting a large (but not heavy) pan. Would recommend against!Works ok, but not on cast iron.It does not work very well on cast iron, it makes the pan unstable to hold.I almost burned myself yesterday pulling a cast iron skillet (Lodge specifically) out of the over with this on the handle. On my stovetop pans it works fine and keeps me from having to have a spoon rest on the stovetop.I think this is a great product for just handles, but not for general use, and if I recall correctly, the ad for it claimed ore uses than just handles.I have a tea pot with a metal handle that gets too hot.I bought this for that purpose, but it's too awkward to use.Instead, I got a standard fabric type pot holder material "handle pot holder" and it works much better.Strauss Green Cuisine 8 Inch Skillet with Non Stick Ceramic Coating
Almost nothing sticks to it. Every now and then, if I cook the heck out of bacon or a burger, a little bit of something will require a teeny bit of rubbing to loosen it, but that's about it; for the most part, wipe it with a paper towel and it will look like it just came out of the dishwasher. I usually wash it by hand; takes two seconds. I have put it into the dishwasher, and have noticed no ill effects, but I don't know if that would take a toll over time.
I have tried many non-stick Teflon pans. (I won't use Teflon except in an "emergency.") This is the first and only one that is worth the moniker "non-stick," that wears well, cleans easily, and seems to have no real vices. The only negative I have found is that the handles sometimes need tightening. (I intend to replace the screw that holds the handle in place with an allen head so I can tighten it down properly. If it works, I will edit this review to include the size screw and where to get it. Hopefully the manufacturer will do it before me.) The other side of that coin is that, because of the way the handle attaches, the inside of the pan is perfectly smooth, with no protruding rivets or screw heads. In my opinion, this pan deserves to become the standard by which other non-stick pans are judged.
MyCuisina is OK as far as delivery and their customer service, but their packaging is, or at least used to be, pretty amateur. Every pan I have received has nonetheless been in fine shape, but I would not be the least bit surprised if the problem the other reviewer experienced is a result of MyCuisina's poor packaging.
In short, if you're looking for a good non-stick pan that is not Teflon, in my opinion, this is the one you want.I bought this because I own the wok version of this pan and love it.The wok has performed well for several months without losing its nonstick qualities, however this pan was only nonstick for about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks it is sticking like a cheap regular pan and I literally have to scrub food off of it.I am so disappointed.I don't understand the inconsistency in quality. This is definitely going back.

I went to Range Kleen's website before buying this product to make sure it was induction compatible. This is the exact product description from their website:
"12 inch Stainless Steel Covered Chicken Fryer
Stainless Steel construction offers durability as well as fast, easy clean-up. Oven proof to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Dishwasher safe. Encapsulated bottom distributes heat evenly for maximum cooking results. Compatible with all range types, (electric, halogen, induction, gas, ceramic/glass and solid plate). Clear Tempered Glass Lid. Limited Lifetime Household Warranty."
So I bought the product. It arrived today and I tested its induction compatibility with a magnet. The magnet doesn't stick to it.I looked at the box the skillet came in and it says this:
"Range Kleen cookware is compatible with MOST range types electric, halogen, gas, ceramic/glass smooth top and solid plate."
Now there's no mention of the induction range type. That's very shady of them to say one thing on their website to get you to buy the product, and then say something different when the product arrives. This is a good quality pan for the price. Nice large size, thick bottom, cleans easy, and no Teflon to worry about scratching off. The only thing I am concerned about is, the handle flexes a lot even when your handling the pan empty. The long handle is poorly made. I think that will be the eventual reason the pan goes in the garbage.

Nordic Ware Flat Top Reversible Griddle
PROS:
Versatility.Cooktop, oven, outdoor grill.Grill side and griddle side. Can't ask for more.
Size. It's big enough without being too big.Four or five pancakes fit on there with ease. The grill side is large enough to do enough veggies for my family of four. It's also big enough to completely cover my largest electric burner and rest on the stove-top, giving me a completely flat surface (my burner is a tad tilted despite my best attempts at leveling it).
Weight. Not too heavy but solid enough to easily retain the heat.
Design. The grill indentations are sufficiently spaced to do their job and still make nice "marks" on the food. The outer rim on both sides catch a significant amount of liquid/fat.
No handle.Means it can easily go in the oven, on the outdoor grill...and in the dishwasher. Most of the other "griddles" I researched had handles that, while comfortable, meant it wasn't ovenor grill-safe.And the handles (like on my pots) eat up dishwasher space.
Fair warning here: the manufacturer suggests handwashing (to prolong the "nonstick" life).I'm a busy mom and, while I'll handwash sometimes, it's gotta go in the dishwasher.I just suck it up and buy a new one when the surface is worn.
USA-Made.Whenever possible, I try to buy American. This product is a perfect example that you don't have to sacrifice price or quality to buy "local."
CONS:
No handle.Yes, I listed it as "pro" as well. But to be fair, it does/can make for some tricky handling. You'll need oven mitts or something of that ilk to protect your hands. It's too hot to handle otherwise.
Shape.Wish I it was square.I see they have a rectangle one...but a 12" square would be perfect for me.
All-in-all, a great purchase. When it comes time to replace it (which I hope won't be for several years), I hope it (or something like it) will still be on the market. On second thought, maybe I'll get its replacement now to ensure I'll have it on-hand for a childhood's worth of Sunday morning pancakes.
Once upon a time, I had a new stove installed that came with a cast iron griddle that laid over the burner.I thought it would be a nice thing to have around for cooking large batches of pancakes for guests, but wouldn't get much use otherwise.Little did I know, I would use that griddle daily.
I moved away, and mistakenly left that griddle for the new residents. My life was without direction with the absence of a sturdy griddle.I purchased this heavy aluminum griddle from NordicWare, and I have a new sense of purpose. This is great for making big breakfasts for a family, as well as anything else that can be grilled or fried. It does burgers, hot dogs, and chicken really well for the days I want something quick and tasty off the grill but don't want to fire it up.Whether grilling or frying, excess oil drips to the side and away, allowing for healthier cooking.I love having a griddle again!

I was excited to find this nonstick grill pan after spending so much time cleaning my Calphalon grill pan after each cooking. The cooking area is vastly larger than most grill pans so I could fit four steaks, tuna steaks, etc., at one time. After cooking with the pan a second time, the coating is completely popping off the side exposed to my glasstop stove. I know this is due to the medium high cooking temperature I used. However, if you can't cook meats with a higher temp, this defeats the purpose of a grill pan. Also, I am having a difficult time cleaning the deep gorges between the ridges. I am returning this pan and will try again with another brand. Very disappointing.
