Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set ()I can honestly say that my wife and I have never used cookware that is of higher quality than this Anolon Nouvelle 10-Piece Cookware Set. We received a set of Emeril Hard Anodized Nonstick Fry Pans(8" and 12") as a gift recently and though decent, the difference in quality is readily apparent. The handles are thin and heat up, and the pans are thinner and cook less evenly. Comparatively the Anolon Nouvelle cookware is thicker with layered bases for even heating and have the best handles I've ever had the pleasure to take a hold of. They are thick and easy to grip, and the ends stay cool even if the pan or skillet has been sitting on the heat for a while, eliminating the need to use pot-holders. Even the smaller stockpot handles remain cool enough to pick up the pot when cooking (i.e. spaghetti). The bases where the handles meet the pots do warm up a little though.

I've had this set for just under two months, but we do not eat out and everything is home made so this cookware set has undergone a trial by fire, as it were. We've made a variety of dishes on our glass top stove and everything has been cooked to perfection. Water boils rapidly in this cookware, perhaps due to the double full cap bases. Cooking is even too in the pancake test, all of the pancakes were evenly browned the same hue. Rice, stir-frys, spaghetti, soups, sauces, veggies, fried foods -they all are easy to prepare properly with the Anolon Nouvelle set. That isn't to say that they'll keep overcooking from spoiling a meal but it seems hard to do wrong with them. Directions do not recommend cooking with anything higher than medium heat, but we haven't had any issues occasionally going higher. The tight fitting lids help keep dishes from boiling over and lock in the steam to help keep them from drying out. Lids on or off, these are very attractive looking pots and pans. We have a pot-rack, and hanging the Anolons from it gives the kitchen a more elegant look.

I intentionally left some sauce in a pot on medium heat even after we were done making a meal. It dried up and stuck to the bottom and sides and looked like it would be a hassle to clean up. I poured some water and detergent into the pot and let it sit for a while. When I came back to clean it, it wiped off easily. I'm really impressed with the nonstick coating on this set, it just works. The DuPont's Autograph 2 Teflon coating is supposedly the best currently used by Anolon. The flush nonstick rivets are another nice touch. Note: this set is not dishwasher safe. I've re-heated food in the oven a couple of times with no problems, though I doubt I'll ever test the 500 degree limit.

A star comes off for few reasons. The steep price tag may dissuade a casual buyer, though you are paying for a quality product that should last at least five years. You have to decide if a set in this range is what you need. Casual cooks may not need cookware so sturdy. With the amount my family cooks, these will be a good value. Chefs who prefer glass lids will need to look elsewhere. I also wish a 12" skillet was included in the set, but the 10" can handle most of what we'd need the other for. With 6 pans (and 4 lids) in the most common sizes, this set should be able to handle everything except some specialty dishes. The pots are slightly heavier than others I have used, but their sturdy handles make them easy to maneuver and lift.

I am very pleased with how the Anolon Nouvelle set has performed so far and look forward to creating many more mouth watering dishes in them well into the future. If any durability issues arise, I will be sure to append this review to make note of them.

** Update 01/11/2012 My wife and I have been using this cookware for almost a year now and are very pleased with its performance and durability. Everything I posted in my review previously still stands.

** Update 01/29/2012 I've had the opportunity to use very similar Analon brushed stainless steel set and my review for it can be found here:

()Summary:Overall, a solid set of pans. However, there are some trade-offs.I would recommend this set to someone who likes the appearance or the handle design. However, considering the price, I personally would choose to either save money on a set that is very close in quality, or spend a little more money to get an even nicer set.In balancing all the features (some two stars, some five) into one overall rating, I came up with three stars, "It's OK".The smaller cooking surface and the cost were the primary reasons why three stars instead of four or five.

Assumptions:When shopping for a set of pans, I would first make sure I need every pan in the set.Choosing individual pans (instead of a set) can save money and ensure you only buy the pans you truly need. For example, there is not a 12" skillet or 12" sauté pan in this set (which would add cost if you buy separately), and you may not use the included 10" skillet very often (which you still pay for as part of the set). For this review, I assume every pan size and type in this set is needed.I am comparing features relative to all price points (Mauviel, All-Clad, Demeyere, Calphalon, George Foreman, and pans that were "free" with groceries) and rating the overall value based on what else is available relative to the cost of this particular set.

Appearance:One benefit of this set is that there is an exterior glaze which reduces stains that can otherwise permeate untreated anodized aluminum. The exterior is more of a glossy light gray pearl color. It is not the flat charcoal gray of a typical anodized aluminum.I found this difficult to determine from the photo. However, the appearance is solely a matter of personal preference.

Function:The non-stick is not any better or any worse than other pans anywhere near this price range, including the free pans. The flush rivets are coated in non-stick, which is a great feature to avoid accidentally scrubbing delicate non-stick while trying to get sticky rivets clean. The working area in the center of the skillets and the sauté pan are a little smaller than competing pans of the same size. The stock pot is perfectly proportioned between its diameter and height, allowing a little better access than my same-size Calphalon that is taller and thinner.

The solid base helps with even heat distribution at the bottom of the pans, but the thinner anodized aluminum sides do not share this benefit. This is not a clad set of pans, to it's understandable that the sides will not distribute heat evenly. However, the solid exterior base is smaller than the cooking surface of each pan, so heat will be a little different at the center of the pan than it is at the far edges. This may not seem like a big deal, but the copper base is the big selling point and it's partially negated with uneven heat.(Note:The copper will patina unless polished, and this is unavoidable with all copper cookware.)A slight flare at the rim of the stock and sauce pots help pour more easily than all other straight-edge pans where liquid dripples down the side instead of pouring cleanly off the edge.

Hands down, these are the best handles of any cookware I've used. They are thick and very easy to maneuver.By comparison, All-Clad handles are thinner awkward when pouring. The lids look nice, with welded handles (avoiding a rivet). The handle loops look taller, and provide as much or more clearance (for a hot pad, etc.) as other manufacturers.

Analon recommends using no more than medium heat to avoid warping, which isn't uncommon (and to avoid unsafe fumes and melting the non-stick coating into your food), but is a drawback.Being oven safe to 500 degrees is a great advantage. It is not safe for the broiler, but few if any non-stick pans can be used in the broiler. It is also not dishwasher safe, though most nonstick pans get pretty beat up in the dishwasher, even if they claim to be dishwasher safe.

I hope these considerations are helpful. You will not be disappointed if you ultimately purchase this set after considering the pros and cons.

()Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

It would have been a full 5 stars if you could only use them in the broiler for finishing and use them in the dishwasher, but I live in a dream world!

The very first thing I'm going to say is to read the instructions that come with your cookware set very carefully since the manufacture is taking the easiest way out and has printed the directions that are for more than just the Anolon Nouvell Copper Anodized set. It can be quite confusing if you don't have the directions/instructions right in front of you. The manufacturer notes that the copper-bottomed set needs special care before using the first time. Also, this particular set cannot go in the dishwasher.

The second thing I'm going to say is to take their reprimand about dry boiling quite seriously. I haven't done so in the past, but after reading the warning I'm a bit petrified that I may somehow do so in the future and that would be very ugly!

What I did love hearing is that we can use this cookware in the oven up to 350° degrees Fahrenheit. These are NOT broiler safe. No non-stick is broiler safe.

In my first test of this product I did a simple one which was to simply boil water and to see if having copper clad bottoms made a difference...it did come to a boil somewhat faster but not at warp speed or anything.

I was also a bit worried to find that these pots and pans were a lot heavier, and sturdier than my old stuff as I am getting older now and my grip isn't what it used to be. But the handles are well balanced, and even with a full load in the larger sauce pan, I had no problems getting it to the stove. A real worry since I have a glass top stove and I really don't want to drop anything on it and break it.

Next up was seeing if it heated evenly. And using my hand to test the bottom of the large frying pan I could tell that every part of the bottom was heating at the same time. I know it's not a scientific test, but heck I'm not running a professional test kitchen! I am just your everyday average home cook. I do not cook uber fancy.

I cooked simple food that can leave a mess. Rice for instance. The rice came out lovely and since the saucepan is made so sturdily, and the lids on ALL the pieces fit so snugly, the water never boiled off and was perfectly absorbed by the rice. (Perfect rice)

Hamburger patties---not my favorite on the stove top, but a good test nonetheless. The large pan holds 3 very large burgers and fried them up perfectly.(Perfect patties)I used the frying pan next to cook some fried then simmered pork chops, (Perfect)

Lastly I used this to make a typical Hungarian dish--Chicken Paprikas and Hungarian Dumplings which can be difficult and time consuming to prepare and cook. But, I am happy to report that this cookware has the ability to cook perfectly sautéed onions and stew the chicken. And the stockpot held enough dumplings that it made even them almost fun to do. Again, clean up was a breeze . (Perfect Chicken Paprikas with dumplings)

The non-stick coating is sufficient in that I had no scrubbing to do even when I had a little problem with an over-cooked, (oh okay, I'll admit it I burned something I wasn't watching) spot. Not scrubby needed just a nice short soak in hot water and a sponge. These are not dishwasher safe.

Edited to add---it has been almost a year that I've had these and they remain as perfect as the day I got them.I will even admit to throwing them in the dishwasher now and again with no adversereactions.

The ex-wife took most of the cookware in the divorce time to replace. Reviews of Anolon's products convinced me to give them a try. The holiday deals for their 'Copper' set with bonus pieces was also appealing. Ordered the 10 piece set. The construction, weight, appearance and overall quality were very-very-good BUT you don't buy cookware to look at it. So, fire it up! Went for the basics eggs of various kinds, grilled cheese, browned hamburger, pasta and sauce,... It was so easy to use these pans & pots they heat quickly, cook evenly, and are even easier to clean nothing seems to stick to them! I was so impressed that I purchased a handful of the other pieces not included in the starter set. I am very happy with their products and am sure they will have a long and useful life. A note though: the square griddle they sell as a companion piece is NOT induction compatible to their credit, it DOES say that in their description but it means you might need to look elsewhere for something that is (I'm installing an induction cooktop in the next month so it matters to me).

I received this set as a gift and absolutely love it.The handles feel good in my hand, they are very solid and well made, and they look great on the stove.Although you might think the flush rivets are a minor improvement, they actually make cleaning the items significantly easier.5 star and fully recommended...

Farberware 2-Pack Dishwasher Safe Cookware Skillet

Farberware Dishwasher Safe Aluminum Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillets Twin PackWe've had these for a couple months now. They are definitely nonstick and are easily cleaned in the dishwasher. They are lightweight, but so far have been durable enough for regular use (~2 times per week), and show no signs of wear to the nonstick coating.

These pans are okay and I am using them, however, if I had it to do over I would have invested a little more money to get a heavier set. These are very lightweight.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10-Inch Omelet Pan

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10-Inch Omelet PanThere are a lot of things to love about this pan. First, it's heavy enough to keep eggs from scorching. Second, it's truly non-stick...even using cooking spray, our omlettes slide out of the pan in one beautiful piece. Third, it's got great heat conductivity, which allows for even cooking (critical with omlettes, fried eggs, etc.) Fourth, it's so easy to clean, I reach for it for more than just cooking eggs. We use it as a small saute pan and our vegetables never stick.

The pan can also be put in the oven to keep food warm, a nice feature. This was a real find.

This is indeed a great pan, nonstick surface is wonderful and it conducts heat beautifully on my smooth cooktop. The coating did, however, bubble just to the side of the rivets inside the pan.

We bought this pan 1 1/2 years ago and use it a lot, but the non stick part is coming off and we never put it in the dishwasher and only use the plastic utensils. so.. for $29.50 it's okay, but don't expect it to last a life time. calphalon will send you a new one, but you have to mail in your old one first...

This pan is well worth the price that I paid for it. Cooks as expected and easy to clean.

But, I had to give it only four stars because the non-stick surface is starting to lift off a bit after only eight months of gentle 2-3 times a week use. I had expected a longer life for the "Triple-coated" nonstick surface.

UPDATE:December 17, 2009...ONE STAR for this cheap junk.

Within a few weeks after I wrote the first review the non-stick surface of the pan was peeling so badly that my wife stopped using it and hid it in the back of the cabinet. I found it there this November, and remembering that it had a "Lifetime Warranty" I shipped it back, via UPS per their instructions, at a cost that equaled 1/3 of what I paid for the pan.

Calphalon received my pan, which had been manufactured in Toledo, Ohio, on November 13, and today, December 17, I received a replacement pan back. Big problem though. The replacement pan I received back weighs about 30% less than the one I sent in, and the quality of workmanship is less than half the quality of the pan that I sent to them. So, the pan I received back is only worth about half the value of the pan that I sent in.

It was no big surprise to me to read on the carton that the new pan came in, "Made In China." Do not buy the "new" Calphalon pots and pans because you will NOT get what you pay for.

I have had this pan for several--maybe five--years; it didn't cost much, it's been used more than any other pan I own, it owes me nothing, and it is only now beginning to lose its non-stick properties. I do have a smooth cooktop; the pan has not warped. I've used it at many different temperatures, for both quick and long cooking.

I came here thinking about buying another one, and I read the reviews to see if I had merely been lucky, or if buying a replacement was a good idea.

After reading, I have concluded that my kitchen habits probably leave a lot to be desired. Well, I do use plastic utensils on it. But I long ago decided that if putting a pan in the dishwasher will ruin it, then ruined it will be. I have _never_ washed it by hand. I have not been careful about temperatures or storage. My theory about the water temperature for soaking is that if it needs to be soaked, the nonstick coating isn't working and it's time to buy another pan. It has received no TLC from me.

I admit that, because of the dishwasher, the outside of the pan looks pretty crappy--excuse me, I mean it looks a bit mottled and unattractive. However, its cooking properties have not been affected, and I don't display my pans, so who cares? Some probably do, but I don't.

At this age, it has lasted a very respectable time for an inexpensive nonstick pan, and I think I will indeed buy another one, particularly because the glass lid from the 10-inch everyday pan also fits this one.

Calphalon Cool Grip Handle for Professional Hard-Anodized Cookware, Small

Calphalon Cool Grip Handle for Professional Hard-Anodized Cookware, SmallI'm giving this 3 stars instead of 5, not because this isn't a good product but because Calphalon should include these grips with their pans, rather than forcing us to fork over another bucket of dough so we don't have to burn our hands...Other than that, this works well enough.

This Calphalon Small Cool Grip Handle is essential for use with the Calphalon Professional Hard Anodized cookware, such as 7and 8-Inch Omelet Pans, 1and 2-Quart Sauté Pans, 1and 1 1/2-Quart Sauce Pans, and 1-Quart Windsor Pan. I leave my cool grips in place over the handles. Like the Calphalon pans, the cool grips must be hand-washed. If I don't have a cool grip for a Professional Hard Anodized pan, I use the Calphalon suede panhandler or a thick potholder because the chrome plated iron handles on these pans may be hot to the touch.

Buy Calphalon Cool Grip Handle for Professional Hard-Anodized Cookware, Small Now

I've had my Calphalon professional hard anodized set of cookware for about 10 years now.Wouldn't use any other brand, but these cool grip handles are a MUST with this particular line. The handles on the pots do get quite hot, but these handles can even handle oven temps up to 500 if you need to put the pan in the oven.

I'm ordering two or three more since I have a couple of pots I'm using more these days that don't have the cool grips on them.I usually leave the grips on my pots and take them off occasionally to clean them by hand.

I wish they would make these post-purchase type products for the lids on my pots. Those handles get quite hot as well and I have to use a potholder.I know the newer lines of Calphalon don't have hot handles on the pots or lids, but the older lines still have them.

Lodge Deep Skillet with Glass Lid

Lodge Deep L8DSKG3 Skillet with Glass Lid, Black, 3-QuartThis is a useful pan, especially for stir-frys.

The 5qt deep skillet, which is the same diameter as a Lodge 12" fry pan, where the lid meets the pan; when heated holds the heat like no other piece of cookware you've ever used. Before we became as health conscious as we are today, this pan was sold as a "chicken fryer".Indeed, someday, Im going to use this pan to fry some chicken or fish.Think of this pan as the pan that is taller than a skillet, but shorter than your dutch oven.

Lodge used to sell this with a cast iron lid (beter for braising, but the "look inside" feature of the glass lids is nice).

A major problem with making stir-fry at home is that residential stoves don't have put out enough heat energy (BTU's) to adequately heat a carbon steel wok enough to hit the stir-fry with enough heat to do the "fry" part of stir-fry.Instead the addition of each ingredient cools the temperature of the wok down to where it more steams the food instead of flash frying it.

When making a classic stir-fry, the addition of each batch of meat/fish/tofu and vegetables does little to cool off the blazing heat that this pan holds.(be sure to use your potholders)

Like all Lodge cast iron, it comes pre-seasoned, and needs to be stored absolutely dry.I lightly heat mine on a stove burner for a few minutes after washing to be absolutely sure. This pan will last so long, that you'll be handing it down to your children.

This was the widest deep cast iron skillet that I could find. I really like it. I am glad that I purchased it.

Lodge Logic L8CB3 Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge Pan

Lodge Logic L8CB3 Pre-Seasoned Cornbread Wedge PanI am very glad that I finally picked up this piece!I have several Lodge pieces and they are all very important pieces in my kitchen.

I would like it to be a little bit larger and was also kind of hoping it would come with some basic cooking instructions. But, since I am fairly experienced with cast iron, I didn't have a hard time figuring out the best way to use this pan.

If anybody out there is thinking about getting it, or has already purchased this pan and has yet to master it, here is what I have come up with -

1)Preheat your oven (I use 450F for cornbread).THEN, put a small amount ofbutter (or whatever fat it is that you prefer) in the wedges and kind of brush it around so that it will coat both the sides and the bottom.Put the pan in the preheated oven to get it nice and hot.

2)Meanwhile, have your cornbread batter ready to go.I found that it takes about half of the recipe that I was using in an 8" square Pyrex previously.Take the pan out of the oven (I have one of those Lodge skillet handle potholders that works great).IMMEDIATELY, spoon the batter into the wedges.I have found (through trial & error) that filling each well to about 3/16" from the top works great.Get it right back in the oven. For me, 15-16 minutes baking time seemed to be about perfect.

As long as you heat up the pan and the fat that you use in the pan (I prefer a little tiny bit of butter in each well), it will cook evenly and nothing will stick to the pan.I mean, there isn't even residue in the corners or anything. The pan looked clean when I removed the cornbread.I did this several times with identical results.

One more hint for the day If you want to additionally season the pan (I did this before the first time I used it), scrub it out and dry it VERY well.Place a thin coat of Crisco over every surface of the pan.Don't slather it on thickly, and be sure that the top surfaces don't have any excess (I gently run a paper towel over the top ridges of the pan). Preheat the oven to 400-425F.Put the pan in the oven upside down, so that there is less surface area on the oven rack, and leave it in the hot oven for at least anhour.Turn off the oven, leaving the pan inside to cool of its own accord. You will have a beautifully seasoned pan that doesn't have the residue that you get using oil.

This is the only pan that can produce a corn muffin that is crunchy on all sides. The finish alsoeliminates the need for seasoning the pan.Just be certain to lubricate the corners throughly.

I love this pan.It is good for all kinds of cooking, and nice and heavy.I have wheat allergy (celiac disease), and must use special flour when I bake.I find that this pan heats more surface area and gets the job done very well with the flour I must use.The cornbread (or cake or bread) comes out in very nice wedges.I definitely would order another of these pans!

First off, let me start by saying I'm a cast iron fan.I currently own two cast iron skillets, with plans for a third (I'll get to that in a second).I don't mind cleaning or seasoning them -it's worth it.

Second, this makes great cornbread. No real complaints there.

But this thing is ridiculous. The preformed wedges leave difficult-to-clean corners where food gets trapped and refuses to come out.Cornbread doesn't cause much of a cleaning problem, ifthe pan is seasoned and lubricated properly, but I tried making a version of a pineapple upside-down cake, and I was scrubbing melted brown sugar residue out of this thing with a toothbrush for an hour.

Granted, this is primarily a cornbread pan, so I guess it's my fault for trying something else in it (although the description does say "cornbread, scones, and more.")But I wanted to make this thing less of a one-trick-pony.

Which brings up another point. Most cornbread recipes I can find are for a 10" skillet (without partitions). Not only does that mean breaking out my high-school math book to calculate volume changes, it also means that cooking times change, particularly due to the additional heated metal of the partitions baking the cornbread from all angles. One recipe was done in half the time it was supposed to be.Granted, this can be a good thing once you're used to it, but getting there will leave a trail of blackened cornbread in your path -and several hours of scrubbing.

So bottom line: this does make some fine cornbread, but it's a unitasker if there every was one, it's tough to clean, and it will mess with your recipes.Personally, I plan on switching to a standard 10" cast-iron skillet. But if you make a lot of cornbread, don't try new recipes, and just want it done fast and easy, this will work out fine.

I bought this pan for making scones and while I have only used it once so far, I couldn't be happier with it!The scones baked faster and came out crisper than baking them on a cookie sheet.

Just a few comments on the use of this pan.According to the Lodge website, you should NOT put the pan into a hot oven.Instead you should first grease the pan, then put it into the oven at the start of the preheating, letting the pan preheat slowly while the oven does.Once the oven is hot, pull out the pan, fill being careful not to burn yourself, then put the pan back into the oven. This method was great for the scones, since they started to rise as soon as the dough hit the hot pan!

I had to run a knife around the edge of each wedge to get the scones out of the pan, but they didn't stick.I imagine as the pan gets more seasoned over time, the wedges should pop out easier.I have a cast iron bread pan that I have used twice weekly for 8 months now and all I do is tip the pan over and the baked bread just falls right out.

I cleaned this pan easily with a dish rag and hot water NO SOAP.Found the rag was easier to get into the corners than a sponge.DO NOT SOAK cast iron pans as they will rust.If this happens, as it has to me, you need to re-season the pan.To do this, first scrub off the rust with a rag or scrubber making sure todry the pan very well.Next you coat the pan with a thin layer of shortening, wiping off any excess. Then put the pan upside down into a hot oven (350 or 400 degrees) and bake for an hour.I put a sheet of foil on the rack beneath the pan to catch the shortening drips. When done, turn off the oven and let the pan cool a bit before taking out.Pan will be very hot!

I am thrilled with this pan and the fact that it is made in the USA is an added benefit!

Calphalon Cool Grip Handle for Professional Hard-Anodized Cookware, LargeThis Calphalon Large Cool Grip Handle is essential for use with the Calphalon Professional Hard Anodized pots and pans, such as the 12-Inch and 14-Inch Omelette/Fry Pans, 3-Quart and 5-Quart Sauté Pans, and 4 1/2-Quart Saucepan. I leave my cool grips in place over the handles and hang the pots and pans on my pot rack. Like the Calphalon cookware, these cool grips must be hand washed. If I don't have a cool grip for a Professional Hard Anodized pot or pan, I use the Calphalon suede panhandler or a thick potholder because the chrome plated iron handles on this cookware may be hot to the touch.

I have a couple of these and keep them on my Calphalon Commercial pots.A friend who is switching to induction just gave me a couple more of her oldCalphalon Commercial hard anodized.I've been looking for more of the sleeves for the handles. They're now out of stock.Very disappointed. Can't find them on Amazon or eBay or anywhere.

Stainless Steel Non-Stick Frying Pan

BergHOFF Copper Clad 10-Inch Stainless Steel Fry Pan Non-StickI grew up in the restaurant business, my wife and i love to cook a lot. I would rate this pan a fair. The overall quality is fair, the main issue is the machining/finishing on the bottom of the pan which is of very poor quality with tiny groves that make it next to impossible to properly clean.

Would not recommend. There are better options out there.

Met expectations, looks very nice. I am taking it overseas to use it and will test it thoroughly there.Would buy again.

Scanpan Classic Saute Pan

Scanpan Classic 10 1/4 Inch Covered Saute PanSimply outstanding; the best. I have been using top-end coated non-stick cast cookware since 1993, but could not afford Scanpan. I found a sale on Amazon; I can cook anything in the saute pan, using olive oil or butter for flavor as needed with heat distribution uniform at any temperature. I have recently started baking gingerbread and such in the Saute pan, with extraordinary results (I presume because of the heat distribution), and no problem with the "plastic" handle even at high heat. I am still reluctant to use a knife directly on the pan, the problem is that the pan is fine but the knife gets dull. Clean-up is so easy that it takes me longer to wash the remains of scrambled eggs from a plate than the pan.

Best nonstick ever...have lots of them!Follow directions for proper care in cleaning and they will last for some time.

This is the third Scanpan Classic that I have purchased and equally good as the others.

Consumer Reports had graded this product highly and I do as well.

Fissler 121 100 28 100 Crispy Steelux Premium 11.0-Inch Fry Pan

Fissler 121 100 28 100 Crispy Steelux Premium 11.0-Inch Fry PanMy wife bought this pan last year with the frying spatter guard and it is without a doubt the most useful pieces of cookware in our kitchen now.We use them at least 3 times a week to make the best steaks (we're big meat eaters) and chicken fried steaks. The bumpy bottom lets us cook with a lot less oil and as long as we don't overheat it, all of our food releases off the pan easily. We've been trying to eat healthier, so this has helped tremendously. We also just got an Intensa pot and it's incredible for waterless cooking.I wish I'd known about this cookware a few years earlier because we would have registered a whole set for our wedding.

I got this pan to replace some nonstick cookware. The manual says the pan is perfect for fish, chicken, steaks, etc., but for eggs and other sticky foods to purchase their nonstick coated pans. However, I cooked some eggs in it with a light misting of Pam and they slid out like magic. It did as good or better on bacon than the "teflon" pan it replaced.

This is a wonderful fry, saute, pan.It is easily cleaned without any effort whatsoever. I would truly recommend it for all. The only drawback I found was that it was too heavy for my hand. The smaller size is perfect for me and that is what I kept.

Every household should have this fry pan.It is the best thing I have ever bought.I bought this because my friend has had one for 30 years and it is still perfect and I have always been jealous of her having it, so decided I needed to possess one myself. This is a decision I will never regret.Do yourself a favour and buy one

I have some really expensive cookware, but still wind up using good reasonably priced non-stick most of the time. For browning chicken and fish this pan is unbeatable. Something about the way the oil and dimples work makes for a great fry-pan. It is two piece (not like my Demeyere work of art) and very heavy (not a problem for me at all) but still very highly recommended, a superior product in every way.

Ekco Everyday Radiance 8-Inch Saute

Ekco Everyday Radiance 8-Inch SauteOnce again proves you get what you pay for... rated two stars because it doesn't leak!

Eggs stick badly... bacon even sticks... I bought two, so it's not a fluke.Handles were loose, but I tightened them with a screwdriver.Pans are handle heavy so they don't sit on the burner flatly.Nope, spend more and get what you want!

Calphalon CS Nonstick 8-Inch Omelet Pan

Calphalon CS Nonstick 8-Inch Omelet PanI abslolutely LOVE this pan!Not only is it totally non-stick it's the perfect size for every day use. Also, unlike other DARK interior pans that never feel quite clean this one gets sqeaky clean with no effort at all. While it's true that these particular pans aren't utensil safe, that's a very minor issue. After discovering how wonderful this was I also order the larger 10" covered pan.

This pan is just what I wanted. It doesn't stick at all. I make alot of omelets for my family and before I bought this pan I couldn't even make an omelet.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 15-3/4-by-10-3/4-Inch Rectangular Baking Dish, Cobalt Blue

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 15-3/4-by-10-3/4-Inch Rectangular Baking Dish, Cobalt BlueAs a classically trained chef, I have an extensive collection of kitchen items not always found in a typical home. I tend to think of kitchen products from a professional point of view, although I enjoy many items made for home use. Le Creuset is uncommon in professionally kitchens; however they manufacture quality and effective products.

Le Creuset's porcelain enameled cast iron cooking vessels are cast from molten iron formed in single use sand moulds.Covering cast iron with porcelain enamel not only looks good, but has multiple benefits. The enamel, being a solid coating, is one of the most hygienic surfaces to cook on, does not stain, absorb odors, retain flavors, and is easy to clean eliminating the need for seasoning and preventing rust issues. Limit cooking tools to plastic or wood to prevent damaging the enamel.

Cast iron is a highly efficient material which absorbs and distributes heat efficiently. For this reason, it is recommended to use on low to medium heat. There are a few exceptions like boiling water where cooking on high heat is appropriate and okay. Otherwise, cooking with high heat may cause food to stick, discolor the enamel coating, or unevenly cook the food. Cast iron also retains heat, keeping food warm while serving.

The benefits of cooking with Le Creuset cast iron are many, but let's get down to the roasting pan specifically. This pan holds 5 1/4 quarts of food, measures 9 3/4 x 14 x 3 inches internally, and weighs 10.2 pounds. 5 1/4 quarts will typically feed 8 10 people when it comes to casseroles, consider the rectangular baker for smaller recipes. Except for roasts, the roasting pan tends to do best if at least 3/4 full. Any less and you may overwhelm your food with the pan's evenly dispersed heat.

I find the many benefits of Le Creuset make this pan a worthy purchase. This pan adds a desirable crispy texture to dishes like mac-n-cheese.Add the Le Creuset 9 by 11-1/2 inch roasting rack for roasting chickens and pork loins keeping them out of the grease. Some other possibilities for this pan include casseroles, deep dish pizza, pork chops covered with cornbread dressing, dinner rolls, baked squash, lasagna, scalloped potatoes, cobblers, pineapple upside down cake, or bread pudding. The enamel is attractive, while the cast iron keeps the food warm for serving.Cleaning and caring for this dishwasher safe pan is easy. When properly taken care of, this pan will last a lifetime.

One feature that people tend to complain about is the cost. The cost does seem steep compared to other pans made from other materials. Heck, cast iron doesn't seem like it should be expensive when comparing to that old cast iron pan past generations have used for cornbread and camping. However the manufacturing process requires making a mould for each and every pan produced. They then go through the enameling process before shipping these heavy pans. If you take what goes into making and distributing these high quality cast iron products, the cost tends to make sense. Then consider that this pan will easily last a lifetime when taken care of.

Knowing the benefits and the pleasure I get from using Le Creuset, I don't hesitate to recommend this pan.Purchase this pan and use it for its strengths, you won't be disappointed.

PROS:

Efficient absorption and distribution of heat

Hygienic enamel cooking surface

Does not stain, absorb odors, or retain flavors

Easy to clean when not abused or misused

Can be transferred from stove top to the oven to the table

Dishwasher safe

Can easily last a lifetime

CONS:

Its heavy, as cast iron tends to be weighing in at about 10.2 pounds

I debated the merits of a cast iron versus a stoneware baker with the sales person at Le Creuset, and her recommendation of cast iron ws on the mark.I use this pan mostly for lasagna. While some complain of its weight, the even heating and heat retention are worth it.

I love Le Creuset products. They cook very evenly. They can be heavy once the food is in the pot, but very worth it. I am hoping to expand my Le Creuset baking ware in the future. I have three products of theirs now and love them. I highly recommend this product.

Norpro Nonstick Heart Pancake Egg Rings, Set of 2

Norpro Nonstick Heart Pancake Egg Rings, Set of 2I was thrilled to receive these in my Christmas stocking! I have used them a few times to make heart-shaped blueberry pancakes and they work great. They are easy to use, don't stick to the pancake (you may have to run a knife between the edge and the batter before flipping) and the little knobs stay cool so you don't burn your fingers. I rinse them off before throwing them in the dishwasher and it's been working great. They make the cutest little pancakes, I uploaded a photo of the very first pancakes we made with them. Easy and so worth it.

I had no problems using these for fried eggs in a skillet. Remember that the cooking surface should be flat as rounded bottoms will cause leaking. I also greased the ring it self with a small amount of country crock on my fingers before cooking. The eggs slid out easily. The kids and wife were impressed and my 3 year old squealed with delight.

The heart shaped molds arrived in very good condition.Used them on my Cuisinart griddler to make heart shaped pancakes. They turned out great.I had to practice a couple of times because if you over fill the mold, the pancake won't drop out.Tried it with eggs and that did not work out to well.It wasn't the molds fault...it was mine.Buy these if you want to make your pancakes or something else look special!

I bought these a few months ago. I only bought one set. I wish I would've gotten more. I have a more difficult time with eggs but with pancakes it makes a perfect breakfast every time. Even if you just use them on valentines or your anniversary they are so cute you will create yummy and fun memories.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well these rings worked. I believe I had read some reviews about people having difficulty with eggs/pancake batter seeping out. Although i have not tried these with eggs yet, i can say that i didnt have this problem with pancake batter. Just make sure that the pan is hot and ready to go, and the rings have been coated with non-stick spray along the inside. I also set them on the pan for a couple minutes to warm up before pouring in the batter. They worked really well and made the cutest heart shaped pancakes! I will be uploading a picture of them as well.

Farberware Premium Aluminum Nonstick 10 Piece Cookware Set with Black Handles, Platinum

Farberware Premium Aluminum Nonstick 10 Piece Cookware Set with Black Handles, PlatinumThis is a VERY lightweight set of pans. I was very disappointed.

With "Premium" in the title, I thought they would be good quality, heavy pans. They are so thin. They look and feel like you could just bend them in half and I am SOOOOO tempted to try it, but then I won't be able to return them lol. Even the handles are lightweight.

The nonstick coating inside the pans almost looks powdercoated and you can just tell that it is going to bubble off or something. They are not smooth inside there is a bit of an odd texture. These pans look like they would warp easily and I would NEVER trust these in the dishwasher, even though it says they are dishwasher safe. The fry pans are very shallow and the lids do not fit them. Speaking of the lids, they are lightweight too.

I have another set of Farberware and they are at least double the weight of this set. The metal is much thicker on my other set and like I said with "Premium" in the name of this set I just thought they would be just as good as my old set if not better boy was I wrong.

The first thing I tried to cook was eggs and they stuck pretty bad, even with plenty of butter in the pan. I did not have to scrub forever to get it off like the previous reviewer mentioned, but I did have to scrape a bit with a nylon spatula to get it all off.

I wouldn't recommend these, not even for a starter set because you can get a better set for the same price.

The only good thing about them is the color it is a very pale goldish silver color.

Also, these pans come in another version as well that have metal handles instead of black, so be aware that they are the same (crappy) set.

I purchased this set because it was a pretty good gold box deal a little while ago. I wasn't expected chef-quality for the price and was skeptical based on some of the reviews.

However, it's a decent enough set if it's for someone starting out on their own or if you're looking for something inexpensive. I haven't had any problems with the non-stick coating as others have mentioned but I would not consider these to be a "long term" set. If you can afford it, go with a higher quality set (I have a couple non-stick ceramic pans from Paula Dean and they're pretty amazing but can be pricey).

My biggest complaint about this set is it just doesn't have the "weighty" feel that is synonymous with high quality cookware. I have a really high end cookware set but just needed some non-stick for certain things (even if I don't use it very often) so this set is fine for the occasional use. It is uncharacteristically light thoughalmost feels like aluminum...it's a little weird. Also, the balance on the pans is off. As others have mentioned, if you don't have it centered correctly on the burner or if there's nothing in the pan yet while your cooking, it can easily tip. I've never had this happen with any other set I've used so this came as a bit of a surprise to me.

If this was my primary set I would have probably sent it back. However, if you're just using it for specific things (I mainly use the two skillets when I do use it) or are just starting out, it's just fine. Definitely look around to see if there's a comparable or better deal though. They're not the best but they're ok (but the finish on it is kind of cool).
