Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan: 10'I'm not sure about the reviewer who said the pan sticks. This pan is so easy and perfect to cook with. I have made fried eggs, fish, chicken, sauces, pancakes and more. I barely have to use any oil at all. Definitely love this and glad I took the chance to spent $100 on a pan.

This is my favorite pan and I have had it for at least a year. The trick to this product is to really not to wash as often as you can but to wipe it clean.Use a little oil if you must but it looks like the day I purchased it.I only wish it had a lid, but I make my own with aluminum foil then toss it after cooking. I have put it in the dishwasher and it comes out very clean and ready for use so please don't think I mean to not wash it often. I plan to purchase another one for sure.

I have bought all three sizes, they are fabulous to cook with, even heat distribution, cannot believe how slippery the surface is, food slides right out.If you never buy another pan buy at least the 12 inch if only one but the 10 inch is also awesome. Just frigging amazing ceramic coating. Don't wait!!!!!!!

I don't know what our how the previous reviewer used this pan, but I have been using it for several months in a professional restaurant and it works flawlessly.I throw this pan into the oven all the time, cleanup is easy if you let it soak for a minute.

This pan is everything it is advertised to be.I have done scrambled eggs in it and they did not stick at all and clean up was a breeze. I intend to buy 2 more of different sizes. I have used another brand of non-stick pans and have noticed an odd chemical odor when you cook with them. Also, the finish comes off on the food. So far, I am very pleased with this product.

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Chicken Fryer, Red Speckle

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Chicken Fryer, Red SpeckleMostly I love this pan. I love how it looks, the see through lid, it cleans up easily and the depth of it means if you make gravy in it, you are in no danger of slopping over the sides while stirring vigorously.

However, What I didn't like at all is because it has two handles (rather than one long handle) which look so attractive and is one of the things about it that first caught my eye it takes both hands to pick it up and pour. Sometimes I like to keep the lid in place and use it to "strain" the solid food and be able to pour out any grease or liquids and with this skillet, you can't do that unless you have a second person to help you.

Yes, I could just get out a colander and strain that way but it's just one more dirty dish and after being married for over 20 years, I'm a bit tired of doing dishes and so avoid dirty-ing any extra if at all possible.

One good thing about the two handles is that if you have small children, they are safer in that they don't hang out where a child might be able to grab ahold but I don't have small children so this isn't really a benefit for me.

I'm going to keep the pan for now and will just use it for foods that I won't need to strain.

I don't mean to be overly critical but just thought this might be info that someone would find useful because it never occurred to me until after I'd used the pan a couple of times.

I have always used cuisinart everyday pans and i decided to buy 2 of these. These pans are the best frying pans i have ever owned.I have a ceramic top range,so i heat them up slow and have not had a problem with the color fusing to the stovetop.

Hey...this is a great skillet. I use it constantly. It is just the right size to cook for my 5 member family. Its just not for chicken. I make casseroles, fry meats and make gravy in it. It is very durable and great non stick surface.

I've used may chicken fryers over the years and this one rates as a good purchase.I would have rated it higher, but it doesn't conduct heat as well as others and that can and does cause uneven cooking!Still it is a good fryer for the price.

Takoyaki Pan #H5180

Takoyaki Pan #H5180(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)Beggars can't be choosers, and that seems to be true for takoyaki in the US.The delightful Osaka treat is rare enough even at Japanese restaurants, and the necessary implements for making it at home are even more so.

The absolute best set up is a round takoyaki pan, either on a gas or electric portable grill.Much of the fun of takoyaki comes from everyone sitting around the table and cooking together, putting in your favorite ingredients and popping the little balls out then eating them hot and fresh. That is how it is done in Japan, and home-cooking takoyaki isn't meant to be the province of a lone cook standing over a stove while everyone waits patiently for the food.It is a communal experience.

However, true takoyaki cookers are not readily available, and this pan is better than nothing. It doesn't take much, just a pan with round indents in it heavy enough to rest on the range while the balls are flipped over using long toothpicks. It isn't really designed to work with electric ranges, as they are pretty rare in Japan, but it does the trick. I don't recommend using the included steel pick, as it will scratch your pan and conduct heat while doing the flipping.

this is a pretty good item. comes in nice box, kinda heavy though, but one of the old fashion iron pans that make food taste great!

Buy Takoyaki Pan #H5180 Now

I always wanted to try takoyaki, make it myself you know. With this Takoyaki Pan I could. As the first reviewer said, it is heavy, but it's not bad. The Pan itself is big enouf to fit on a small burner on the stove. When I first opened it I was surprise how big the semi-spheres where, just good enouf to make the perfect size octopuss ball. Plus it comes with a pick, and a brush to oil the pan, cause it's not stick proof.

So anyway, it's a good product and all.

The shipping was fast and on time .

The takoyaki pan in fact worked better for me over my electric range than the other range it was designed for. Outer depressions cooked more slowly than inner but on the whole electric dispensed the heat more evenly. As long as I liberally applied Pam with every batch I had no trouble in turning the takoyaki over. Though the included pick didn't scratch my pan I felt it was easier to flip the delicate dumplings the slighter wooden ones you can get in stores.

Add 1 part Sriracha hot chili sauce (with the rooster on the front) and 3 parts mayo for a terrific spicy sauce.

No complaints here! Very satisfied I can have this delicious and under appreciated treat whenever I please!

Coastal Cocktails Cast Iron Skillet Cookie Set

Coastal Cocktails Cast Iron Skillet Cookie SetI won this at a White Elephant Christmas party gift exchange. I was so excited because I LOVE BJ's restaurant Pizookies! The recipe was easy to follow. (mix+1/4c butter+1egg+1tsp vanilla+chocochips, bake 375 for 10min). But the mix doesn't taste very good. I took a few bites and dumped it. I am happy to have the skillet. I plan on making my own home made batch soon!

While mixing the batter, I noticed it smelled and tasted a little funny.I added extra vanilla and even some sugar and it didn't help. The cookie came out like cake and tasted like salty cardboard.I think I'll keep the pan and try using my own dough.

I bought a couple of these for Christmas. The pan is cute and functional, the mix is awful.More a cake than a cookie, and very saccharine. If you can fins a pan alone cheaper just get that, or buy this and use your own mix.

I love this! I received it as a Christmas gift from a co-worker, and I thought it was such a clever idea. When I first opened the batter mix, I wasn't sure because I didn't see any chocolate chips in it. After I poured it out, though, the chocolate chips that were hiding appeared. Just add egg and butter (I used margarine). Love it because the cookie comes out tasting and having the consistency of a cake-like dessert oh, and I added slice almonds because I like nuts.. Would totally buy more!

My daughter gave these to my husband and me for Christmas. Before I even tried baking them, I went online and did some research were these "one use only" items? The answer is no.

On the Pillsbury site I discovered that one of their suggestions for recipes was to take an entire roll of chocolate chip dough and bake it in the oven in a cast iron skillet (full size). By adapting the cooking time, you can actually spoon out the cookie dough and press it into the bottom of this pan and make EASY cookies. (I'm into delicious and I'm into easy!) Since we have two of the pans, we will be making 2 at a time and keeping the rest of the dough refrigerated.

The one suggestion I would like to make is that you place these on a cookie sheet just in case they spill over the top when you make them to keep the bottom of your oven safe from spills.

Not the best choice of mixes, but the pan itself is super. Just price around, you can find better prices locally.

Another choice (without the mix) is to buy the pan alone ... Lodge Logic 3.5-Inch Miniature Skillet or Lodge Logic L5MS3 5 Inch Miniature Skillet.

I wish I could rate this frying pan with 10 stars!!! I cannot say enough good things about this frying pan! I bought this Mirro frying pan October 4, 2011. I would definitely buy another later on! I can fry bacon on low on my GE stove! One must be sure not to use too high a heat when using this frying pan. I go no higher than Medium-High, but mostly use it on Medium heat. I use this frying pan nearly every day. Cleaning it is so easy, and the interior has not become discolored. You must be careful to use NO metal utensils, too! They will definitely ruin and mar the cooking surface. I highly recommend this frying pan to everyone! You won't be disappointed. One reviewer said their pan warped; it may be because they used too high a heat.

Lodge Logic L5P3 Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Muffin/Cornbread Pan

Lodge Logic L5P3 Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Muffin/Cornbread PanThis is not smaller than regular muffin pans. It's straightsided where regular muffin pans have slanted sides. This pan has muffin cups that are 2-1/2-inch-wide by 1-1/2-inch-deep. My regular cheap metal muffin pan cups are the same depth; at the bottom they are 2-inches wide while at the top they are 2-3/4-inches wide. It's actually an appearance issue, not a size issue.

As for quality, it's from Lodge and it's cast iron. It's superior.

The only disappointment I had was that I was expecting a full sized muffin though they did accurately give the measurements I just didn't check.....I agree with the earlier review...bigger than a mini, smaller than a regular. One bonus is that it fits well in a toaster oven and bakes in less than half the time on convection mode.

That's what we got it forand it works great.

The thick cast iron does a great job keeping your pre-heated fat/oil smoking hot while you add your batter.

Our puddings seem to come out much poofier compared to when we used to use a cheap, thin walled muffin tin.

I ordered several pieces of cast iron cookware, so far this is the only piece i have received in the mail tho. I messed up 2 batches of cornbread muffins in 2 days with this muffin pan, then i finally got it right! Now i have the best muffins ever! So at first i tried baking the muffins with the factory seasoning, i put the muffin pan in the oven, turned it on to 400, let it warm up for 15 minutes, pulled it out of the oven, added a few squirts of olive oil(I have olive oil in a regular squirt bottle), and poured in the room temp. batter (I read pouring in cold batter may increase sticking). and the muffins stuck! Then i thought i noticed a little rust, so i scrubbed the whole pan with an SOS pad until the pan was its original dark gray color. Then I seasoned it, I coated the pan with vegetable oil and put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour, then let it cool then I tried baking muffins again and they still stuck! Then i finally found a great seasoning method: wipe the entire pan with a very very thin layer of vegetable oil, then heat in oven at 500 degrees for 2 hours, let cool and repeat this process 3-4 times(I did it 3 times). So i went to make my third batch of muffins, put the pan in the oven, turned on heat to 400, waited 25 minutes, pulled the pan out, squirted a decent amount of olive oil in the pan, the oil pooled in the bottom of each little section slightly, then i poured in the batter, and it made a splattering sound, 25 minutes later i pulled the pan out, turned it upside down and the muffins dropped right out!!! I was so proud!!! Oh and by the way, this thing makes muffins that are plenty big if u fill up each muffin section about 3/4 to all the way full of batter. On the other hand it will make mini muffins if u fill it up half way full of batter. With my cornbread recipe at least.

I bought one of these to try out (I've been cooking more with cast iron cookware Lodge Logic.)After making a half-recipe of blueberry muffins, I went ahead and ordered a second one so I'd be able to make a dozen at a time. You need to heat the pan along with the oven, but it makes a muffin with a better-textured outer surface than the regular muffin pans I had been using. The size of the muffins is a bit smaller than in my other (non-stick) pans, but I put the whole recipe for a dozen in two pans, which makes for a taller top on the muffin. My wife loves 'em (so do I.)The muffins also come out easily I wasn't sure if it would be a challenge removing them from the pan, but it is very easy to remove them.

Overall, a great product. If you like baking muffins, try this pan it beats the heck out of regular muffin pans.

KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetReally beautiful on the stove. The shining, sloping sides add a very elegant and sophisticated air. Extremely quick and even heating. Handles stay cool. Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad). We've since realized that non-stick would wear out in 5-7 years but without it...these should last almost forever!Great purchase.

I almost did not buy this cookware set because of the reviews that mentioned leaking rivets. But here's the real deal.

The rivets that attach the handles to the pans are located high on the sides of the pans.If you fill a pot clear up to the rivets, you'll have lots of splashes and spatters as you cook and stir. The easy solution?Use a bigger pot!No spatters, and no leaks.

Out of curiosity, when I was washing mine prior to use I did fill them up over the rivets, and no leaks on my set.

So, a little more on the set in general.I purchased this as a replacement for my 35 year old Revereware, which was wobbly on my new glass induction stove. Also wanted to get rid of the nonstick stuff for health reasons. This is perfect, very stable, great heat conduction, glass lids fit well and make it easy to monitor cooking.A joy to use, and on top of that they look gorgeous.

My suggestion is to notice the cooking hints in these reviews, and to google "cooking with stainless steel cookware" for more hints. With a few minor tweaks to my cooking techniques (which admittedly had gotten sloppy over the years), clean up is a breeze. The basics: heat it dry on 5 for 5 minutes, add butter or oil to hot pan, turn the heat down to 3 and cook more slowly than you may have been doing.Perfect eggs, veggies, grilled cheese sandwiches etc. Then when you're putting the meal on the table, let the pans cool a bit, give a quick swish with a nylon scrubbie, and add warm soapy water before you sit down to eat. After the meal, they clean as easily as nonstick cookware. So easy!

I also ordered the 1.75 qt pot and 4.75 qt pan with helper handle, and these will probably get more use than some of the items in the 10 piece set.

Absolutely love my new cookware!

Buy KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set Now

Update: 6 years later and I still love the set! They work great. They're holding up well. No issues at all. They work great with my induction burner/hot plate thing.

Original review:

This cookware is wonderful! I purchased it after going through my second set of anodized nonstick that didn't stay nonstick. I wish they had more pieces available that match. I've already bought the saute pan and the roaster separately. Unfortunately, I had to get a nonmatching KitchenAid saucier.

I'll admit I wasn't thrilled about the sloping sides at first. But they've grown on me -they work. The lids don't get as hot as other pans I have.

It heats evenly and holds the heat forever. They're easy to clean a few minutes soak for the worst mess works and you can use brillo pads. You can use metal utensils (wisks, spatulas, *SPOONS*) in it. Folks, there is a reason that you never see the real chefs on Food Network using nonstick!

But for me personally, the best was when my mother-in-law came to stay for a few weeks and realized she had made a mistake paying big bucks for her All-Clad set. All-Clad is nice and great for the status conscious, but if you're actually planning to cook with your pans, why don't you get a set that leaves you some money to buy the great ingredients to match. (Don't get me wrong. My MIL is a great cook -but I think a salesman convinced her to buy the A-C for her new induction cooktop.)

If you're looking for a great set -this is it.

This cookware set is visually appealing, though it discolors with even low heat from a gas stove. Successive uses, though, tend to remove the discoloration. It distributes heat nicely around the base and allows boiling liquids inside to circulate well from top to bottom.

This said, my experience with Meyer's customer service (Meyer Corp. out of Vallejo, CA produces and provides support for KitchenAid-brand cookware) has been far from stellar. Three items in the purchased set contained bubbles in the copper/steel base visible from the bottom.

I contacted Meyer to return the defective items and was put through quite a bit of hassle. The representative first gave a stock answer without reading my message. Then I had to quote KitchenAid's "Hassle-Free Replacement Warranty" to get Meyer to pay for shipping the defective product as it is within the first year of ownership. When the replacements finally arrived about five weeks later, one item was dented. I have requested another warranty replacement for the remaining item. It is now over two months since my initial purchase and I still do not have a complete set.

Conclusion:

Physical product: 4 out of 5

Warranty service: 2 out of 5

Total: 3 out of 5

These are wonderful pots and pans. They have a nice heft without being too heavy, excellent even heat conduction (and they stay hot a long time--if you have electric stove you can turn off burner before cooking is complete, and don't forget to use medium heat). Also very sturdy. (I accidentally dropped an expensive Calphalon lid in the store when shopping, and it easily dented--I was NOT impressed).Handles stay cool, but you should know that the lid handles will get hot with prolonged cooking.

FYI: the lid to the 4 qt saucepan fits the 8" skillet-otherwise, lids are not interchangeable and the 10" skillet doesn't come with one--too bad, I could use one. Also, I find the 10" skillet a bit small (and the 12" that you can buy separately a bit big and heavy, such that it has a helper handle)

I've had mine long enough to use them every day in every cooking situation, and find them very easy to clean.I rarely have to use anything stronger than a "tuffie" or scotchbrite pad with a quick soak.As for the other complaints that they stain, my experience with stainless steel is that they all stain some. The vinegar and baking soda trick works, as does boiling a little auto dish detergent and water in the pan.

But I don't care if my pans are perfect. The outsides stay nice and shiny and the style of these are beautiful and a pleasure to use.

I also purchased the large saute pan(wonderful capacity) and the 10" nonstick skillet(for eggs) to round out my set, both of which I love and use all the time.

For anyone who loves to cook, a real winner! This set should last a lifetime.

Lid Maid Pot/Pan Lid Organizer

Lid Maid Pot/Pan Lid OrganizerThere's not much to the Lid Maid just a long plastic box with a divider running down the middle, which slides on a track. For us, however, it was a godsend.I installed the lid organizer alongside a Rubbermaid slide-out plastic bin.Miraculously, I managed to squeeze all but the largest lids into the organizer. Now, instead of digging through a pile of containers looking for the right size and a lid to match, then frantically shoving everything back in and trying to close the door before the avalanche began, we just pull out the container bin, select one, and then pull out the Lid Maid to find its lid.Truly a beautiful thing.

The construction isn't super-sturdy, but it does the job.Installation was simple just a couple of screws. We've been using it for most of a year and haven't had any trouble with the sliding mechanism, nor does it show signs of wear.

I returned this lid rack after discovering that it was too deep for my old school custom cabinets. Seemed like it would work good though for normal depth cabinets. Make sure you verify the depth before you buy!

Bakers & Chefs 10" Nonstick Restaurant Fry Pan (2 Pack)

Bakers & Chefs 10' Nonstick Restaurant Fry Panwife says that it is an excellent nonstick fry pan; uses it every day and is happy, happy, happy with item.

I've had one of these skillets for several months, now, got it from Amazon. Before buying, I did some research on the Eclipse non-stick coating. Standard industry Lab tests indicate that Eclipse is orders of magnitude better than previous non-stick coatings. I have to agree; this is the best skillet I've ever used; nothing sticks to it, it cooks evenly, eggs slide around as if they were on ice skates. It cleans up like new. I wipe it out with a paper towel, then rinse it out with hot water, and a dishrag (no soap, ever), even the raw aluminum outside surface. The pan is a good weight, good balance, it feels good in your hands, you can flip things easily, even things, like pancakes, that stick to some other pans.

I bought these two, one for each of my daughters; they tell me that they love the pans...and me. I give Bakers & Chefs an A+ for the design (sides are sloped, so you can easily flip the contents), construction (three burly rivets hold the cast Stainless Steel handle in place, and the slide on / off silicone handle cover ensures that you won't burn your hands. This is my favorite skillet.

Calphalon One Infused Anodized 12-Inch Fry Pan

Calphalon One Infused Anodized 12-Inch Fry PanIn response to the "chef" who has praised this product though the disparagement of the other reviewers and amateur cooks.

As a former professional chef, cookware retailer, and loyal Calphalon user for the past 20 years, I would like to say that I have rated this product only 3 stars due to the fact that Calphalon has grossly oversold this pan's capabilities. As you can imagine I have quite an assortment of pans ranging from French copper, steel, cast iron, and of course anodized aluminum non-stick.

This pan is expensive and does not come through on the promises that Calphalon has made to the buyers. It doesn't offer me enough advantages to warrant its usurping the place of copper-used where temp control and browning are important, cast iron-for high heat,or the traditional non-stick-used for just about everything else.

I have used Calphalon non-stick for the past 15 years as it is heavier gauge aluminum and the non-stick takes more abuse and doesn't degrade under higher temperatures like competing brands (it also browns pretty darn good).I replaced the first set after 7 years when the non-stick became slow to release and the outside "paint" scraped off with constant use.The second set has lasted 8 years and it too is ready to enter the non-stick graveyard. I was looking for a new non-stick set and had hoped that Calphalon One would offer the easy clean-up and easy release capabilities it advertised.

The pans do not release the food like a non-stick pan and they should not say it does. The exterior is only marginally easier to clean than the professional and commercial series (copper is easier and looks better when cleaned). But-the new handle is easier to grip and better balanced. We can only see how long this new finish lasts when "accidentally" overheated as invariably occurs.

Clean up is easy when you follow the instructions and use Barkeeper's Friend (which I have used for over 8 years) inside and out. Permanent discoloration often occurs when the oil film outside the pan is not removed carefully after each use. Also, extra fine steel wool (0000) is great for removing stubborn stains obtained over time.

If you are looking for a traditional non-stick finish do not purchase this pan. If you would like an easier clean up than stainless, less weight than copper or cast iron, and a sturdy finish then this pan is a good choice.

I admit, I have been avoiding Calphalon One products for some time. Some due to the questionable reviews I have read on Amazon and other sites, but mostly because I have made a *significant* investment in the earlier Calphalon Professional and Commercial lines and could not deal with the thought that my cookware might be somehow obsolete. But I finally tried it and...much to my horror...it worked as advertised.

What's the buyer needs to understand is that the infused aluminum does not cook like Teflon. It actually cooks more like decently seasoned cast iron...meaning food sticks briefly at first but quickly releases once it browns and the pan promotes fond development for sauces and gravies. That means you need to follow traditional cookware rules...preheat the pan dry and add your grease or oil right before you add the ingredients. That's right, you cannot cook fat free with this cookware, but you don't need a lot either; I use just a non-aerosol oil spray.Remember the old Chinese adagei.e. "hot wok, cold oil, food won't stick."

The only major difference from cast iron cooking-wise is Calphalon One does not retain heat the same way.So you should preheat a bit hotter than you would iron because the pan will lose temperature as soon as food hits it.When you are slow cooking in it, use a pizza stone to regulate your oven's heat. But also unlike cast iron, it's relatively light weight, you can cook and store acidic foods in it, and clean it without worrying about rusting or re-seasoning.

Now, if you are looking for a pan for stick-prone foods like eggs, rice, or pancakes, get a Teflon or Teflon-like skillet.Calphalon One Nonstick is tremendous stuff because it can take real heat, enabling it to properly sear meat and saute vegetables. But it will not leave a good fond for a pan sauce.

For years I've used the Calphalon commercial non-stick pans. They get hard use in my kitchen, but perform amazingly well. Clean up time, no matter what I've cooked, is practically non-existent. The only problem is that they need to be replaced every couple of years, as the coating begins to scratch and peel, even with very good care. So I thought the Calphalon One would be the answer. It's not. It is a nice pan, well balanced, well made, etc etc. However, the non-stick surface does not perform anywhere near that of the commercial non-stick. Food sticks and stains pretty easily, and I've found I had to use quite a bit of oil to get good results. Not at all what I wanted, and too expensive to throw away! I'm going to stock up on the commercial non-stick while I still can.

I've had this pan for about a week now.I've made sausage, eggs (scrambled and over-easy), meatballs, and sautéed a ton of vegetables. There isn't one thing that "stuck".The foods I wanted to provide the little bits of browning to make a sauce did so, the things I didn't (like the eggs) didn't stick at all!I can't imagine I just lucked out.

So far this pan is great.I love to cook, don't purchase cooking sets, and buy the pan I believe will provide the best result for the type of cooking that I want.I've got everything from copper to cast iron. This pan performs well, looks great, and I expect will spend a long productive life in my kitchen.

Update:Well, I think I spoke a bit too soon.Though I loved this pan before the coating started to wear off, I've since had to return it.After about a year, it, like almost every other "non-stick" surfaced pan I've owned started to break down. Food began to stick despite the hand washing, and the fact I never got metal anywhere near it.On the positive side, Calphalon, good to its word as always, immediately replaced thepan no questions asked.I still recommend the pan, though realize you may find that you need to be replacing it.

After reading the previous reviews I had to respond with a review of my own.

These are the best pans on the market.

YES YES YES food is suppose to stick! If your a good cook, you then take the fond on the bottom of the pan (yes the stuff that stuck), and make a gravy or sauce out of it.It is not marketed as a FULLY NON-STICK pan. It does not stick like a steel pan, but food does slip off easily.

The sticking gives the food perfect carmalizing of the food. Example Steak, chicken, chops, veal, whatever...

Cleaning is a snap when using Bartenders Friend. You can get that online or at your local kitchen store. Works awesome.

I am a professional chef, I will admit these pans are to expensive to use in my restaurant, since they will get banged up in the hussle and bussle, but they are worth the money for home use and they only pans you will ever need. You get what you pay for.

If you do not know how to cook, then buy a set of $9.99 pans at your local discount store.

Boska Holland Toastabags, Set of 3

Boska Holland Toastabags, Set of 3These are enticing the way you toss in bread with cheese, and a few embellishments all so effortlessly. The pocket keeps in warmth from the bread to evenly heat what ever you want for a sandwich. This provides you with getting a grilled consistency and the option for adding variation to the cheese and flavoring. I think the great part is keeping the toaster clean, and also getting the full serving out just like the time before.

These "Toastabags" actually work very well for making grilled sandwiches in the toaster and have the added benefit of being washable and reusable, but there are durability issues. My wife picked these up on sale at a kitchen specialty store to try out since we eat a lot of sandwiches.

These bags are made of a nonstick material that easily holds two slices of bread and the sandwich ingredients of choice. Once assembled, we apply spray butter to the outside of the bread and insert into the bag. The first problem we encountered was fitting the bag into our old standard toaster, but even overstuffed they fit just fine in our shop kitchen's toaster that can also fit bagel halves. While these are advertised to last for up to 50 uses, we had our first one rip after just four sandwiches. Our second one is still going strong after six uses. Perhaps the first one to fail was a fluke, but it was disappointing.

The results are much better than expected, at least for grilled cheese (with or without ham) and Rubens. The outside of the bread gets nicely toasted and the insides are wonderfully "melty" hot.

Other than my concerns about the durability of these, I am very impressed with how well these work!

Recommended!

I was out of town last weekend for a wedding and finally drove back into town Sunday evening. Groceries were scarce in the house. Odds and ends and maybe 2/3 of any recipe, but I did have some bread and some tasty Havarti. I got the Havarti from EmmiRoth in the Boska and Culture Magazine giveaway and I've been eying it since it arrived. Tonight we feast on grilled cheese!

But wait! Didn't I score some new cheesy toy from Boska that I could use too? Victory for the Toastabags! These helped me whip up some easy grilled, excuse me... toasted cheese sandwiches. Unfortunately, since both the bread and cheese came straight from the refrigerator (yes, I'm one of those people who keep their bread in the refrigerator)they didn't melt all the way through. We still had a cool spot in the center. We did try it out the next evening with fresh cheese and bread that hadn't touch our refrigerator and it worked out a lot better.

Great little dandy meal time saving device! Just be sure to get your ingredients to room temp before using.

Really convenient way to make a grilled cheese without the clean-up. You can even add other ingredients in-between the bread and cheese (I put apple slices, Yum!) and the bag holds everything together while melting the cheese and toasting the bread evenly. I use a toaster oven and it keeps the cheese from making a mess dripping everywhere. The best thing about this product was how I could slide the bread and cheese into the toastabag, then slide the bag into a plastic sandwich bag which I put in my lunchbox, and just pop the toastabag into the toaster at work and have an ooey-gooey grilled cheese sandwich in a matter of minutes! I do kinda wish they came in different sizes or shapes, as some of the breads I eat are too cumbersome for the toastabags.

It worked just great, but when I washed it, the fabric tore along the seam. One use. The sandwich came out perfectly, but the product description indicated that it could be used repeatedly.

I can't sew it because the thread wouldn't withstand the heat of the toaster. Shame, because it is such a good concept.

Grundtal Stainless Steel shelving, pan rack, wall shelf for the kitchen

Grundtal Stainless Steel shelving, pan rack, wall shelf for the kitchenThe overall look is fantastic; tubes of stainless is gorgeous for sure! An added bonus is they pretty much can't get dirty, all dust and dirt and water fall right through the rods!

now for the limitations:

1. the counter-sink holes for the screws are not uniform so the screw heads don't seat flush. minor but it's not as clean as it should be.

2. The tubes are made of very thin metal. I have the 48" long version which exaggerates the issue but even the 31" version will have considerable 'wobble' and 'flex' to the tubes when placing items. even a 2-3 pound load will make the tubes bend and flex. It's most noticeable if you put on a small item that only touches 2-3 rods but has some heft to it; it makes other items rock back and forth that share the same rods.

3. egregious oversight: the width does NOT match the standard spacing of STUDS in the wall, so there is virtually no way to mount this item solidly. wall anchors? please. On mine I was able to put the brackets on with the bracket to the OUTSIDE of the bars which spread the spacing between mounting holes to just about 48 ½ inches so i could get the screws into the STUDS so it's solid.

I added some support brackets under the rods at each 16" and now the shelf is 'as it should be'. I could probably put 200# of items on EACH shelf without a problem. My added brackets don't reach to the very first rod so it's super obvious how wobbly the rods are without the added support. I tried to take a picture but didn't have enough hands.

This is an attractive and well-built item. I mounted it right above my sink, where I can lay sponges, towels, and where it holds a multitude of kitchen tools, thus freeing up the space around my sink and in my previously cluttered kitchen drawers (you'd be surprised how many of your kitchen utensils -even knives -have hanging holes in them!). As long as you measure your intended wall space correctly, you should love this item! Oh yes, you have to separately buy lots of matching "S-hooks" to hang your utensils, and also some screws to mount the item, too (the lack of which is why I didn't rate this item "5-stars"). Enjoy!

This is a sturdy SS shelf, quality throughout. However, be sure that it is the type of shelf you want. The bearing surface of the shelf is 6 SS tubes. This type of shelf is excellent for some purposes, inappropriate for others.I affixed mine above a triple SS sink to use for drying commercial gear after washing and they work great.Would not work for storing small objects, as an example.

So I was not sure if this would be a quality product bc of it being such a low price. WOW WAS I WRONG! It is awesome. It looks and does just what it says.. i like it so much I'm probably about to order another.

We have a very small kitchen with very few cabinets and we love to cook. This shelf serves as storage for all of our stovetop cookware and utensils and looks great doing it. We store big pans on top and hang small pans and utensils from the rails with the Grundtal S-hooks (purchased separately). You can get it all at Ikea for less but if you do not live near an Ikea, as I do not, the extra money you spend purchasing it here will be less than the gas money you would spend driving into the next state to the nearest Ikea store.

Hotel Line Non-Stick Pancake Pan

Hotel Line Non-Stick Pancake PanBought mine at a Berghoff Outlet neat Tampa Fl. in Odessa.Got to looking here just in case I ever need to replace it.Works exceptionally well on any heat source but usually use it on my induction burner where it heats almost instantly and I have better temperature control.

I make crepes frequently for breakfast, dinner and desert and this pan cooks them all perfectly.I think the best complement I can give to a crepe pan is that it cooks even the first crepe perfectly, every time. The heat is even, very quickly controllable and recovery after adding the batter is almost instant.I've used various pans over the years but this is the only crepe pan on my pot-rack now, the others are all recycled to children and friends.

I've had this pan about 6 years now and its still in absolutely pristine condition and cooks as good today as the first time I tried it.The non-stick coating, while carefully maintained, is still in perfect condition, for a pan that has been in use for 6 years. I wish my All-Clad coatings held up held up as well.

Needless to say, I highly recommend this product to anyone who likes crepes but it goes beyond that... I find it superb for omelets, scrambled eggs and eggs over-easy (although Its rather large for those).I often use it to cook my entire breakfast as I did today, strawberry crepes topped with homemade yogurt and over easy eggs.My highest recomendation, you'll be happy if you know how to make crepes or want to learn and not blame the pan for your failures.

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 8-Inch Fry Pan with Lid

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 8-Inch Fry Pan with LidOver the years, my wife and I have tried all sorts of cookware. We have a good set of Calphalon stainless-steel cookware, but we've never mastered the art of cooking sticky dishes such as eggs without a non-stick pan. We've tried every type of non-stick pan we've encountered. Some are non-stick for a short time only before the surface gets mucked up. Our best Teflon pans, such as those by Calphalon, seem to remain non-stick for a very long time with careful cleaning, but recently we've learned that when heated, Teflon (PFOA) cookware outgases chemicals that are definitely not good for you. (An advisory committee has recommended that the EPA classify PFOA as a possible carcinogen.)

Swiss Diamond is PFOA-free and fantastically non-stick. We've used our two skillets extensively to cook eggs and to brown meat, and they look and work like new. Nothing sticks. Omelets are easy to prepare. Cleanup is a breeze. The lids have vents that can be opened or closed, a useful feature. The manufacturer says you can use metal utensils, but we've stuck with plastic, so I can't say how they'll hold up to contact with metal. I can't recommend Swiss Diamond cookware too highly. It is the stuff I've been looking for for decades.

We searched locally for an 8 inch frying pan with a lid.It didn't seem to us that we were trying to find anything obscure yet, after looking in store after store, I finally decided to try Amazon.I was pleased to find both this one, as well as a more expensive one by Caphalon.I hemmed and hawed over whether I should get the more expensive pan, since I was was more familiar with the Caphalon name, but ultimately I bought this Swiss Diamond pan.

If you are indecisive like me, FEAR NOT.This pan is terrific and exceptionally well made. It's heavy not at all flimsy. It feels just as well made as Magnalite or Caphalon. It very much resembles cast iron in the way it feels, too.For a small pan, it's surprisingly thick and heavy. The handle is solid and it cooks food beautifully.I highly recommend this item.

I heard about Swiss Diamond over on the food forum & was in need of a small nonstick "egg" pan.

The person loved their s.d. so much that I thought I'd give one a try. I guess I've had it about 3 months & use it every day.It browns food well, cooks evenly, & is a breeze to clean.

I have a big drawer full of All-Clad....which I love.....but a little nonstick pan like this DOES have it's uses in my kitchen.

I have to admit that I've been treating my new baby carefully even tho they say you don't have to.We'll see how it lasts over the long haul.

I'm thinking about getting the whole set. It's about the same price as a pan & a half of the All-Clad.

PS.I often read criticism about the use of n.s. cookware but I've noticed most cooks I've seen on tv use them for certain things.......including Julia Child & Jacques Pepin.

EDIT May 2010

I have been using this dandy little pan at least twice a day for over 9 months & still love it.I haven't experienced any flaking or chipping of the non-stick material but I don't use metal with it & hand wash. The clean-up is every easy.

I have been looking for non-stick frying pans that utilize cast aluminum. If you've ever cooked with cast aluminum, you'll agree with me that it's the only way to cook. On top of that, it's difficult to find frying pans with glass lids and plastic handles. Other items I've looked at expect you to cover the pan with a dinner plate while holding the handle with an oven mitt.

I was in heaven when I found these and am in heaven when I'm cooking. No burnt food. No weird hotspots. No sticking. No burnt hands when pouring out grease. And no peeling teflon. Then I found out about the lifetime warranty.

Need I say more???
