Lodge Logic L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inch

Lodge Logic L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inchFirst of all it's Lodge. It's cast iron. It's American. These are all good things.

But I had to chuckle at a couple of the applications the other reviewers had for this handy little item. This isn't one of the first kitchen implements that you might put on your wish list, but it's surprisingly versatile.

Yes, you can put it in the bottom of your dutch oven, put your meat on top and let the fat drain. Yes, it's obviously a trivet. But I've also used it as a meat press yeah, Lodge makes a couple of presses, and one of these days... but in the meantime, flip at upside down on your bacon and it works fine.

I've also used it as a grilled sandwich press. Put it on a medium burner, toss your sandwich in your skillet, or griddle, then (with tongs or welding gloves) plop this little trivet on top of your sandwich. A couple of experiments is all it takes to get the right amount of heat to brown the top of your sandwich. If you need more weight, put some water in a saucepan and set it on the trivet the "legs" on the trivet keep the saucepan from cooling the trivet and your sandwich is nicely smushed.

But the weirdest use of all time? Olive pitter. No, I'm not kidding. I was making a salad the other night, and I wanted to chop some black olives into it. I grabbed a can of olives and opened it, only to discover that my wife had bought un-pitted olives. I hate pitting olives, but I started in, when my eye was caught by this little trivet and all those interesting holes. I grabbed the trivet, put an olive on end over one of the small holes and pushed with my thumb the pit jumped through the hole and left the meat on the other side. I grabbed a bowl, put the trivet on top and went through that can of olives in no time. Hint the holes are beveled, and the olives sit very nicely in the bevel, but they don't pit as well turn the trivet over and use the "flat" side of the hole.

So there you have it. A kitchen gadget with half-a-dozen uses for ten bucks. How can you go wrong?

I use this trivet over my gas stove burners or barbeque to heat tortillas like my grandmother used too. Also works great to fire roast chiles and peppers for salsa.

Love this trivet! It is perfect for use in my Lodge Logic5 Qt Double Dutch Oven and Casserole with Skillet cover set, 10.25 inch in diameterdutch oven. They are a very esential pair in my kitchen. My food is so much better now and healthy with the trivet to have the drippings drip away from the food!!! Love it!!! Can't beat the price either. remember wash with hot water and scrub brush only (no soap) and rub some spray pam on it before putting up.

Just received my Lodge Meat Rack/Trivet. It arrived in perfect condition and shipping was fast and free. For those who complain about the legs being too short to keep the food out of it's juices please understand that's not it's purpose. It's designed to elevate the food just enough to keep it from scorching. If the legs were longer the same people would complain that it takes up too much room. If you must keep the meat out of the juices make 4 large balls from foil and place those under the meat rack.

Want Lodge Logic L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inch Discount?

If you cook some things in your dutch oven in a cake pan, put this in the bottom of the dutch oven first and it will help keep the bottoms of your cakes and biscuits from scorching--or put it under your roasts or chickens to keep them out of the fat that accumulates at the bottom of the pot.Because of the size, you can use it in all your dutch ovens over 8".It won't work as a trivet for a camp-style oven (with legs) because it's too small, but it's a compact, useful trivet for other hot pans and pots.

I have a griddle that we use extensively. The griddle, being a hunk of metal, will last for decades, but the control died after about 10 years. This replaced model number 0690003 and fits/works perfectly. Better to spend a few bucks to replace a part than 35 bucks to replace the whole griddle.

Magnalite Classic Cast-Aluminum 14-Quart Covered Stockpot

Magnalite Classic Cast-Aluminum 14-Quart Covered StockpotI live in Louisiana and I purchased this Magalite Pot just to make seafood gumbo in.I was tired of the roux sticking to the bottom of my old thin pot.The Magnalite pot is excellent for cooking gumbo.Nothing sticks and I would recommend it to everyone.

Thank You.

Betty

Have had magnalite for about 20 years.I also own all types of All Clad stainless. For some reason, when it comes to cooking big pots of stews, chicken and dumplings, and chili, I always get out the 14 quart magnalite.I hope they have not changed the quality as the over review states. The roaster is also fantastic.I could never fry eggs or chicken in the fry pans however, they seem to want to stick.I always had very good luck with receipes that have a good amount of liquid called for and will always use them for fudge because the bottom is heavy, and roasters because the roast comes out super.I have to have my magnalite lined up by my all clad!!!!

I grew up in a house where we made homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs in a 40 year-old Magnalite stock pot. This one is just as good as the original. In some aspects it's even better. The surface is easier to clean. The lid is sloped more so you can percolate better without the lid "chatter".

If you haven't cooked with cast aluminum pots, you don't know what you're missing. Meals like meatballs, stews, and soup will cook perfectly at low to medium temps in this pot. The lid on this one also comes with a plastic handle, something I wish our old Magnalite stock pot had.

Our traditional meatball recipe wound up flawless. Although it may seem like prices here are a little high for a "stock pot", they're quite low for the quality of even cooking temps and consistency you get from them.

I promise...I do not work for now; nor, have I ever worked for Magnalite; but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn once when I was in high school! Seriously, Magnalite is magnificent & a dream to cook with no matter your level of culinary skills! As a matter of fact, someone just learning to cook should learn on Magnalite because of its simplicity and awesome metal& handle quality that allows even the newest kitchen queens (and kings) look like they're not new to the kitchen or excellent purchaser of these kitchen "must haves!"You can't help but be proud of yourself.

The sizes are perfect for growing families, empty-nesters and singles alike! My turduckens, roasts, gumbos etc. fit into a piece of magnalite no matter the size or height needed. Magnalite products maintain a constant temperature allowing your food to cook evenly and thoroughly (or to your desired shade of red, pink or well-done.)Treat yourself to what will surely become an heirloom for your child, children, grandchildren, family members and/or friends.A single piece of Magnalite given as a moving-in, wedding or birthday gift and the like not only shows that you have great taste; but, that they are special to you.

I have a few special pieces of Magnalite that were given to me by my grandmother,my mother and wedding gifts that range from brand new to AT LEAST 50 years old and they still look brand new.I had the good fortune this past year (2011) to receive my own new 13 piece set plus, 8 additional roasters, skillets & small pots from Hannah Claus & Santa Claus. He bought them for me through Amazon this past holiday season!I must have been very good!Working with Amazon is a breeze and free freight is available on a lot of goods especially during holidays.

There is nothing like a well-seasoned piece of Magnalite.I am a Cajun and someone who is always browning, reducing, or cooking something several times a day or week. You cannot ask for a better surface to make the perfect brown gravy, roux (for gumbo's & thickening agent), white gravy, soups, roast and so forth.

My collection or war chest of kitchen products has at least one piece of every size & style made by Magnalite. In addition to those I have several pieces of various sizes & heights just in case I ever need them.A woman or man can never have too many pots and/or skillets! (Note: I use all of them for special events during the holidays or any special occasion such as an after party for an art opening.) The weight is perfect and the handles sturdy.I have never had a handle break or a stain that would not come out.TIP:If your Magnalite ever becomes discolored on the inside simply cook a spaghetti or something with a tomato sauce as a base/acidic based food and it will make your pot/skillet looking like the day you bought it.In closing, my Magnalite products guarantee that no matter what I prepare in them...it will be cooked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It's as though my family is with me at every meal! The gift that keeps on feeding and giving!

Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome Cover

Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome CoverThis pretty well completes my collection of Chef's Classic cookware. It arrived nicely packaged and undamaged.I have a small range so I particularly favor this pan over the long-handled 12" skillet with helper handle.Cleanup is also easier since the pan, without the longer handle, will sit flat in the sink.

I continue to believe that, other than All-Clad (USA), Calphalon Contemporary (China), and Anolon Advanced (Thailand), there is no better brand of stainless steel cookware. The reader should note that the first 3 have an aluminum core wrapped by stainless on each side and, unsurprisingly, each is far more expensive than the Cuisinart Chef's Classic line, with its heavy aluminum bottom disk.

This pan, at $24.95, is a bargain that will not last much longer. It should make a wonderful Christmas gift to the most discerning of chefs.

Cuisinart has two different grades of cookware. I've bought a couple of sets and seven or eight seperate pieces of what used to be called Chef's Classic over the last five or six years, and I love it!. One time I mistakenly ordered a set of the cheaper lighter weight pans. I quickly returned the set. That is what this pan is. I ordered it, and I'll keep it, but it's far inferior to what I already have. This is not nearly as well made. I see they now have a MultiClad Pro line... Seems as if they changed the names.

Buy Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome Cover Now

I've had this product for a month now, from Amazon. Thank You!

This pan is great for casseroles, paella, chicken & dumplings, veal marsala, etc. It's manufactured to the same standards as the rest of the Classic line, with the exception of the handles. If one inspects the image closely, it's obvious that the width of the handles parallel to the rim are narrower than that of the helper handles on companion products; however this does allow more space for oven mitts and potholders, which I enjoy as it's generally a single move from oven to table.

Of particular note, the cost of a domed twelve inch lid of this diameter direct from Cuisinart is $60 alone. The lid on this pan will fit any Cuisinart Classic pan with a model number ending in "-30" including the twelve inch frying pan and the 5.5 quart saut? pan. So if one needs to gain head space, allow for expansion, or configure an ad hoc Dutch Oven this is a bargain price.

For this product, I consider the lid to be less than half price and the pan to be free. I'm now a satisfied owner of twenty-four pieces of the Cuisinart Classic line. This may be the last, depending upon what Amazon presents in the future.

This is an incredibly useful and versatile pan, and attractive enough to both cook and serve from. I purchased it specifically for bringing to potluck dinner parties, and used it the first day I received it to make jambalaya. The heat distribution was lovely, nothing stuck while I was sauteeing the veggies, and the rice was fluffy and evenly cooked no scorched spots.

I've been using Cuisinart cookware for almost eighteen years, and while the products have gone through some disappointing phases, this one is a sound bargain and worth well more than twice the price.

Want Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome Cover Discount?

I bought this at the same time I bought the Cuisinart 12" pan with the long handle because you couldn't get a lid for it, and I thought the price of this pan with the lid was about what you would pay for a lid alone.Well, the lid fits both pans, and the funny thing is, I'm not so good at using the handle to flip stuff in the pan, and I wind up using this everyday pan (which is identical except for the handle) because it fits in the sink and is easier to wash. The long handled version won't lie down flat in the sink since the handle is so long, and I like to let the pan soak a while so it is easier to clean. The quality of these pans are great, and I love the results.I've been using non-stick pans for years, and I've become concerned about the contaminants in them and switched to these I wish I had years ago. They really do work better.

The product is very very ggood.

I really wish i didn't burn up my moms pan today, because i never realised how much they actually cost. This pan looks great, and i bet it will cook just as good as the one i burned up. I just wish they had a better coating on pans that if when burned it wasn't horribly toxic, bnecause i inhaled a very good unhealthy dose of burning teflon, while i was trying to get the smoke out of the house. Well i guess that'll teach me not to leave the pan on the burner for 3 hours. good thing we have an electric stove or the house could of gone up. I'm glad i didn't burn the house down, but 26 bucks is that a good proce for one of these?

Tramontina Gourmet Enameled Cast Iron Covered Skillet, 12 inch

Tramontina Gourmet Enameled Cast Iron Covered Skillet Gradated Size: 12', Finish: Gradated CobaltI love cast iron, know that it's heavy to use, but the flavor it gives your food is just amazing. I ordered this pan since it said that it was 4.5" deep and since it is 12" in diameter, the normal size of a chicken fryer, I thought I was in for a treat.Instead, upon its arrival, found that it was only 2" deep and completely unsuitable for anything that required depth in the pan whatsoever, particularly chicken. This pan is only for frying up something like eggs or pork chops.Forget those stovetop casseroles because this thing is so shallow, it would just spill over the sides.SO disappointed! That said, I'm going back to order one made by Lodge. They are made here in the U.S.A, in Tennessee, to be exact, and have been for 100 years.LOVE all of my other Lodge items. This pan is made in China.SO not into that either even though I was willing to make the sacrifice to get the cast iron enameled and in a deeper pan.

Tramontina DOES make some of their items right here in Texas, so be sure to check them out as well.I have other pieces of theirs that are amazing and I'm just a bit aggravated at Amazon for not describing this correctly.I recommend it for the even heating and overall good looks for the pan, but if you're looking for a deep pan, this isn't your "man." Recommend, sincerely, because the quality is quite great, but if you're having trouble lifting, this would be troublesome to handle.Filled, you really need a man to help, no kidding! My husband had to manuever it for me and I'm no weakling I play softball.

Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 6526.22 8.6 Inch Round Frying Pan

Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 6526.22 8.6 Inch Round Frying PanBeautiful, impeccable quality. A perfect size for a good fried steak (or anything) or a spanish omelette, which is what I use it for most of the time. If you live alone, this is your perfect frying pan for quick, single serving foods.

Sometimes I just have to cook on medium heat. When I do, I reach for a pan with a high copper content.I finally decided to turn the copper content all the way up to "11." So I bought a Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 8.6" Round Frying pan.

The Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 8.6" Round Frying pan works great for a little light duty cooking. These pans are a decent compromise in that they are copper pans that have a thin stainless steel liner. Stainless steel and copper have wildly different reactions to salts and acids, so you'll want to watch what you are doing. Just read the directions that come with the pans and it'll last forever.

Cuisinart 626-32H Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-1/2-Inch Stir Fry with Helper Handle and CoverThis is a great buy. It's hard to find a nonstick hard anodized pan this large with a glass cover (which fits fine) at the price. And with the "Quantanium" non-stick surface, I could use metal utensils if I wanted along with the benefit of easy clean up.Also, please note that it's flat-bottom--I have a ceramic stove top and even calling Cuisinart didn't clear that up.I decided to take the risk and order it and it was indeed flat.Recommended!

This was purchased on 2007. After 2 years of regular use, we used it about 3 times a week for chinese stir fry cooking, wash it only with yellow sponge of Scotch-Brite, now as of November 2009. Berndes SignoCast Classic 8-Inch Skillet

Berndes SignoCast Classic 8-Inch SkilletI know kitchens -I worked as a short-order cook for years.

This is a quality piece of cookware.Decent weight, well-machined.Berndes' non-stick coating is, for me, the standard against which I compare all others (and it's the only non-stick cookware I've ever been happy with). We've had the first pan for a year or three, and my wife still hasn't managed to destroy it.Yet.

For me, a HUGE plus (and what makes the purchase a no-brainer) is that there are no rivets inside the pan.(IMHO, rivets have no business on the inside of any pan - makes cooking & clean-up more work.)

It's quite simply a flawless omelet pan.I've not used anything better at any price.

This pan is very light and well made.I could tell the difference in quality between other pans immediately. The cast aluminum is much better quality than molded. It also distributes the heat evenly, and the non stick coating is smooth and durable. It makes absolutely perfect omelets!I am SO happy with this pan!

Maxx and/or Marshall's, but don't see them often and still looking for more.I was drawn to how smooth the pans are inside and out and haven't regretted a day using them.Made in Germany.Absolutely the best saucepans and omelet pans you can buy. Will see what Amazon's selection is and probably buy more.

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetI have always liked the Farberware cookware for over 30 years. The steel pots are perfect. I am not crazy about the non-stick ones, wish they had covers too, and a bit heavier. Besides, I don't care for non-stick surface as much because it could leave toxins after a scratch. I like the glass lids, they are easier to clean. The size of most pots in this set is fairly small which you may not realize from the size provided in quarts, but appropriate for a small household's kitchen. Overall, it's a pretty good quality set for the price compared to all those other brands with highly inflated prices.

I love the farberware cookware.the pots are perfect.some lightweight pots my wife purchased actually warped and thus rattled on the stovetop.since i am the cook, it drove me crazy.i threw them out in less than a month.the only "problem" and the reason for 4 not 5 stars is the non-stick pans. I hate the non stick surface because they scratch and can leave toxins in the food .cant convince my wife that you must use wooden utensils, so i just threw them out

I have owned my Farberware for 12 years and love it.It was made in the USA. So when I wanted to get cookware for my daughter, Farberware was my 1st choice.I ordered a "10 piece classic set" from Amazon(They sent it through another shipper but it came on time and was well packed)

When the set came my daughter cooked oatmeal in the small sauce pan for 3 mornings and noticed the finish on the bottom of the pan was chipping off I called the plant and they said that they would replace it. Before I could send it back we used one of the larger pans and noticed it had a small chip in the bottom and was discolored on the sides and bottom. I looked for the warranty which said it was "limited lifetime" but didn't cover discoloring and a lot of other things. This was STAINLESS STEEL. It didn't say what was meant by "lifetime" so I guess it was the lifetime of the pan, which was 3 days in this case.I then checked to see where it was made and it was Thailand. I called the plant again and they don't make anything in the USA anymore.I boxed it all up and returned it.I learned most cookware is made overseas now, so I don't know what to buy. But it won't be Farberware. It is a bunch of junk! I'm hoping some other factories overseas are better, they couldn't be any worse.

Scanpan Classic Saute Pan

Scanpan Classic 10 1/4 Inch Covered Saute PanSimply outstanding; the best. I have been using top-end coated non-stick cast cookware since 1993, but could not afford Scanpan. I found a sale on Amazon; I can cook anything in the saute pan, using olive oil or butter for flavor as needed with heat distribution uniform at any temperature. I have recently started baking gingerbread and such in the Saute pan, with extraordinary results (I presume because of the heat distribution), and no problem with the "plastic" handle even at high heat. I am still reluctant to use a knife directly on the pan, the problem is that the pan is fine but the knife gets dull. Clean-up is so easy that it takes me longer to wash the remains of scrambled eggs from a plate than the pan.

Best nonstick ever...have lots of them!Follow directions for proper care in cleaning and they will last for some time.

Hamilton Beach Premiere Cookware Electric Griddle

Hamilton Beach Premiere Cookware Electric GriddleI bought this griddle to replace my Presto 07039 Professional 22-Inch Jumbo Electric Griddle when the Teflon coating wore out after years of use. There are some things on this Hamilton Beach griddle that are better than the Presto, and some that are worse. I just received it yesterday and tested it out with a batch of bacon. If I come across any problems or revelations in the future I will come back and change my review.

PROS:

Splash guard This is a great innovation and it was the selling point for me. My old Presto griddle would leave a big mess on the counter and wall behind it when I cooked anything greasy. Since I used it for burgers and bacon more than anything else, there was always a mess to clean on the counter after using it.

Warming tray I must confess that I haven't used it yet, but I pulled it out to see how hot it gets. It just stayed "warm," as it should. I am looking forward to making pancakes for guests with this griddle so I can test that drawer. With the old Presto unit, I would have to leave pancakes wrapped in a couple layers of aluminum foil to keep them warm.

Large cooking surface It seems to be about equivalent to the Presto.

Large grease trap It looks small, but for the amount of bacon I cooked in my test run the Presto unit's grease trap would have been full and this trap was only half full. I do think that it might turn into a problem if I am cooking a large amount of burgers or bacon on it, and in those cases I will just remove it and put a disposable pie tin under the griddle, just like I did with the old one.

Strong handles with lock washers This is better than the Presto unit by a long shot. They are sturdy cast aluminum handles with lock washers and I expect them to last a long time. The Presto unit had cheap "bakolite" style plastic handles and they constantly had to be re-tightened. The only down side to metal handles is that they heat up, so you have to use oven mitts to move the unit while it is hot.

Great non-stick surface It is very slick, and seems to be well applied to the unit. I don't foresee it peeling or cracking any time in the near future. The Presto unit had more of a textured Teflon coating, and things did stick to it. Nothing is going to stick to this griddle.

Very secure thermostat housing It really locks into place, whereas the Presto one just slid in and didn't really lock.

Fully submersible Just like the Presto unit, everything but the thermostat unit is fully submersible, which makes cleaning very easy.

High edges all the way around I thought the edges were pretty good on the Presto, but these are even higher. That helps when picking up food, and keeps stuff from spilling onto the counter.

CONS

Uneven heating I put bacon across the entire cooking surface, and I could literally see stripes on the bacon where the heating elements are. Eventually, the whole batch of bacon cooked evenly, so perhaps I should have preheated it longer. On the Presto unit, I preheated it for just a couple of minutes and it cooked evenly every time. This unit is definitely inferior in that regard. It also took a lot longer to cook a batch of bacon than the Presto unit did at the same temperature setting, so it could be that the Presto unit's temperature indication was high or this one is low. It is going to require some adjusting either in the temperature or preheat time.

Cooking surface not tilted This might make it easier to cook eggs, pancakes, or anything else that might run, but it also keeps grease from running into to grease trap. To get grease into the trap, you have to tilt the griddle. If you read my comments above, you know that it has nice metal handles, so you need an oven mitt to grab the handle and tilt it. Also, if the grease trap already has some hot grease in it, tilting the unit could cause that grease to pour out of the grease trap. I will get by this problem by just setting the grease trap on the counter below the holes, rather than sliding it into the drawer slides.

Overall, I think I will be happy with this griddle, but there are a couple of areas that could have been improved and a couple of things I will need to get accustomed to.

My old electric non-stick griddle finally bit the dust, and I had to replace it pronto.I searched the internet for hours, and finally picked the Hamilton Beach Electric Griddle. Although it is not perfect, it is better designed and more attractive than many of the cheaper competitors. It has actual handles to move it when it is hot,and it has raised edges all around to prevent the grease from bacon or sausage to spill out on your counter top.I think that it is also one of the best looking units available. Grease drains through a hole to the grease trap underneath.I think that this unit is better than most of the cheaper brands out there.I am happy with it so far.

Cuisinart 622 Chef's Classic Non-Stick Hard Anodized Open Skillet

Cuisinart 622-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 8-Inch Open SkilletInitially I was quite happy with the pan. They are good quality and cook evenly. The non-stick surface worked well.

After about 6 months however the nonstick surface did not work very well any more.I wash them by hand, and only use plastic utensils to avoid scratching.I was disappointed by how quickly the nonstick surface was lost.I later looked on Consumer Reports, and found that they also say they have poor nonstick durability.

I bought a set of these Cuisinarts about 9 months ago. This skillet was included in the set, as well as a smaller one and several pots.

Pros:

Excellent heat conduction. Stays hot, cooks evenly and transfer from oven to stovetop and back is very convenient.

Cons:

The nonstick coating is not really working anymore. Though these have never been in the dishwasher or been scrubbed with anything heavier than a sponge, the nonstick coating has slowly burned off in patches, and now, though it hasn't peeled or flaked, there are spots where the food will stick and nonstick spray or oil must be used. This is a pity because I was very careful not to overheat the pans--they have really been babied. I will probably buy another Cuisinart though, but this pan will need to be replaced within a few months.

I bought a set of Cuisinart teflon non-stick pans due to the fact that there was supposed to be a lifetime warranty. Well when the teflon coating started peeling, I contacted customer service 1-800-726-0190 and was assured that if I sent them back they would warranty the pans. I stressed that they were several years old and the girl said that was ok. I spent $30 to FedEx the pans (sent back all pans in the set) and was also required to enclose a check for $10 to cover return shipping.

After about a month, I had not heard anything, so I called and they had no record of receiving. I related the fedex confirmation and they said to give it another week to update my file. I called back in a week and the girl said that there was a note in the file saying "costomer abuse". I asked what that meant and she said she didn't know. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was referred to "Daniel". Daniel said that he would look into it and it was up to "corporate" and he had no input. He said he would call me back in 24 hours. Daniel did not call back in 24 hours, so in 48 hours I called and asked for him. He still said that it was up to corporate I said that was not good enough; I have $40 more dollars invested in the pans. I told him that I have never seen a pan that eventually did have some peeling and wearing off of the teflon and a "lifetime warranty" should be honored. I also asked for a supervisor higher up.

A day later I got a call from "Dena". Dena (clanging pans sound) said the the customer abuse was using too high of heat which caused the teflon to fail she also said that it was evident that metal utensils were used. Neither of which are true, the pans were just old and wearing out, but we bought them initially because of the lifetime warranty. Dena stated that if they just replaced pans for everybody that they would go broke replacing pans and they were NOT going to warranty my pans. Due to my constant whining, she did agree to ship back the pans (received but damaged with dings on the edges), refund my $30 shipping and the $10 check (have not received yet). My response was since she was going to ship my pans back at a cost of $20 (probably their cost to ship) and write a check for $40, wouldn't it be wiser to invest that $60 and send us a new set of pans that have a (Cousinart cost) of $60. She said "Look, we generally don't refund the original shipping, so NO". I also told Dena that I would post a positive Amazon review as well as a negative Amazon review whichever was needed. She said that was my right. So here I am with the negative I will never buy Cuisinart again and ther warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on...

It looks nice and cooks fine.My complaint is that the handle is too heavy for the size of pan, and when set on a glass stovetop, the weight of the handle seems to lever the opposite side of the pan, preventing it from cooking evenly.

Norpro 9.5 Inch Nonstick Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg Poacher

Norpro 9.5 Inch Nonstick Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg PoacherThis is a very nice product. The only complaint is that the cups that hold the eggs are molded into the pan.Our last poacher had removable cups with a little tab-like handle. This made it much easier to remove the eggs.

I've tried other egg poachers, but none of them are as good as this. It is well made, sturdy and gives perfect results every time I use it ...which is often. I purchased the Nordic Non-stick 10" egg poacher. A huge mistake, it began losing the non-stick coating after the first use. It became unusable after using it a few times. The eggs cooked unevenly and stuck to the surface even when I used Pam spray or butter. Get this product instead and you will be pleased. I hope this helps.

This poacher works very well and is far superior to any microwave poacher. However, I have noticed after only a couple months use that the bottom of the pot is starting to rust.Does not affect the functionality, but wonder about its durability/lasting.

I've had this pan just over 3 months and have only used it a few times. Already the finish is coming off the bottom of the skillet. It is coated with a very thin layer of nonstick coating, which is not durable at all and not high quality. I have always washed it by hand, not in the dishwasher, so it hasn't been exposed to harsh conditions, other than boiling water on the stovetop. Other than that, the poachers work well, don't stick, and so far are not starting to peel.

As devotees of poached eggs, we have tried a number of poachers. This is the best ever. We use a bit of sprayed oil and have never had trouble with with sticking eggs or clean up. The egg holding tray is up a bit higher above the bottom of the pan than most poachers, which we like. While we were not especially interested in having to buy a whole pan, etc., in this case, we are very glad we did! Enjoy!

Good Cook Smart Choice Fry Pans

Good Cook Smart Choice 11.75 Inch Blue Fry PanThe pan itself is pretty nice -it's large enough, decently priced and non-stick (for the most part)

However...if you have an electric stove, it might not work for you.

When cold, the pan sits relatively flat against the burner, however once it heats up, it seems to warp so much that only the very center still has contact with the burner. This makes the food cook unevenly, and it wobbles a lot.

We tried making pancakes, without oil, which I can still easily do in my very scratched old pan, and the centers came out burned, while the outer sides still raw.

I like the colar and size.

I use this a lot to cook for small portion.

Especially for my kids.

This one is absolute great. Since i received this pan, all of my other pans had been abandoned for a long while. You can fine that a good pan does save your oil and what's more, you also save time and water to wash it after you finish using it. It is the best choice I have ever made. Love this pan forever.
