Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Open Skillet

Cuisinart MCP22-30HN MultiClad Pro Stainless 12-Inch Skillet with HelperI'm a fan of multiclad cookware, the kind that takes heat conductive aluminum and surrounds it with easy to maintain stainless steel. Professional cooks swear by it, but I'm just a home cook, and didn't even know about until a few years ago while watching America's Test Kitchen. This popular PBS series tests kitchenware, and reports their recommendations via their TV show, as well as 2 different magazines they publish. All-Clad cookware has always ranked up there as the best, but at a high price!

Fortunately for us middle class working stiffs, other cookware manufactures have picked up on the multiclad concept and have been producing their own versions. Enter Cuisinart's MultiClad Pro line.

This particular item takes all the benefits of multiclad and gives us a reasonably priced alternative. Compared to the All Clad Stainless Steel 12-Inch Fry Pan at a price tag of over $150, you are getting a real bargain here.

This skillet is beautiful, with stunning luster, and solidly constructed. It goes from oven to table with no problems, and looks stunning. The curved lip allows for pouring that resists clinging to the side of the skillet. It's very very easy to maintain. Personally, I hand wash all my high end cookware, so I cannot comment on whether it's dishwasher safe. If you do hand wash (and you should....just sayin'), use Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a non abrasive sponge to keep that amazing shine.

I give the product 5 stars, for it's durability, construction, looks, and ease of cleaning. I love this Cuisinart Line and highly recommend it.

Once I learned how to properly heat stainless steel skillets so that the food doesn't stick to them, I've been using Cuisinart Chef's Classic line. The results have been good to very good (especially given the price/quality ratio.) (Hint: search on YouTube "rouxbe how to heat a pan")

This MultiClad Pro skillet is from a different dimension altogether heavier, sturdier, delivering consistently great results every time. Great for browning foods, sauteing meats and poultry, sauces, omlettes, dishes that need to go into the oven, etc. This skillet is especially great for creating a "fond", or caramelized bits of stuck-on food that is used for flavoring your final dish.

Clean up is very easy just put some water into the skillet and heat it up; once it cools a bit, wipe it clean. In extreme cases use "Bar Keeper's Friend" which is available in places like Target. Please note that bleach, ammonia, metal sponges and other abrasives will scratch the surface of your stainless steel fry pan.

In summary, highly recommend!

We had reached the point where we did not like seeing bits of various forms of plastic in our food.We did some research into Stainless skillets and fry pans and decided to take a chance. These really work.So far we have found that we don't need to have the heat set as a high on our glass/ceramic top stove as we did with Teflon and anodized Aluminum pans.Follow the advice of the chefs online, put a little oil in the pan, heat it, place food and cook.Cleanup is simple.

This is a great little pan--just the right size for grilling a single sandwich also very heavy/durable. My first multiclad adn I love it. Cleans up better with Barkeepers Friend than in the dishwasher so I tend to wash by hand.

Lodge Logic LMSOV Oval Mini Server, Black, 9-Ounce

Lodge Logic LMSOV Oval Mini Server, Black, 9-OunceI wouldn't have known what to do with this a year ago.A small cast iron pan with handles for pot-holders.What's it for?

Then I had what may be the best dinner of my life, at Mario Batali's new Vegas steakhouse, Carnevino. It was early fall; they had an item on the menu, "Market Peppers."Vine-fresh, long skinny red sweet peppers were seeded, cored, brushed lightly with olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt, and oven-roasted and then brought to table in this little pan, or one very much like it.The pan was so hot that it kept sizzling them right at the table; you served yourself and the sweetness, the good roasted flavor where the hot iron had seared the pepper skin, was just unbelievable.

You can make this, and other similar vegetable and mushroom dishes, at home in this wonderful little pre-seasoned pan.Because it's cast iron, which retains and delivers heat wonderfully, you need very little oil; foods sear nicely without scorching, and cook through without needing to sit in a puddle of oil to do it.

I pretty much want this on the table every day, filled with delicious roast things. You can also use it for breakfast scrambles, one-person casseroles or pot pie, or pretty much anything else you like it's cast iron, it's indestructible.Just don't put it in the dishwasher no soap please, just clean by rinsing under hot water with a stiff brush, then coat with oil lightly and put it away.

I have fallen in love with Lodge's small cast iron skillets and have several sets of them which I use to serve rustic dishes to my guests.I like the way they look and I like how they keep hot dishes hot. However, there are times that I wanted something that had the same properties as the skillets but had a more conventional shape.I now have a set of both these oval mini servers and the rectangular ones and I love them.

These are great for appetizers, such as wild field mushrooms with grilled baked polenta, fired roasted tomatoes and goat cheese. The cast iron keeps the mushrooms (which would normally get cold fairly quickly) warm for a least a half an hour if needed.I also use these for au gratin potatoes, broccoli and other vegetable casseroles, as well as other warm sides dishes.I usually place the servers on a cast iron trivet in order to keep the table for getting burned.

If you are into rustic and bistro cuisines you will probably enjoy these cast iron servers as much as I have. With proper care these should last for many, many years.

T-fal Specialty Nonstick One Egg Wonder Pan

T-fal A8570084 Specialty Nonstick One Egg Wonder 4.5-Inch Fry Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware, Grey

I usually use high quality pots and pans, some of which are very expensive. However, I bought this little guy because there are times that all I need is something this size.I got it mostly for one-egg omelettes but I can also see using it for a quick sauce or to warm up a small side dish.

The quality is about what I expected for the price and as little as I'll probably use it I'm sure that it will last for quite a while.I would rate it 4.5 stars but since we don't have half stars on Amazon I will give it 4.I hope that you enjoy my quick little video.

Love this little T-Fal baby! I make bagel or bun sized eggs without folding endlessly to make the ingredients fit on the bun. Perfect for a side of sautéed mushrooms, onions or anything you want to do on a small scale. It fits a perfect serving size for one person (or two eating light). I pushed the envelope and put two large eggs in it and it performed OK, however cooks better with one egg if you're putting extras in the pan with it. One swipe of a paper towel and it's ready for the next mini cooking task. This little thing has made my life so much easier because I'm not a confessed hand pan washer except for the ones I HAVE TO this one I do because it's so easy. No more big pans sitting in the sink and no more lazy lunches! I work at home and can fry up tofu for a salad, eggs for my hubby, onions for burgers, garlic for sauces . . . sometimes we just don't need a big pan to do those big flavor items! I'm ordering three more for gifts after using mine every day for a month. Love the non-stick too.

I like this one egg wonder pan very much. It's easy to clean and perfect for just the one egg. However, be aware that it measures 4/34 inches across the TOP and so the bottom is even smaller.I blieve the ad could have been a little more clearer about whether the measurement was across the top or the bottom, as many pans are measured across the bottom. Therefore, I was slightly disappointed, but just slightly. All in all, I like it.

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C9421964 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 11-Inch Stir Fry P

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C9421964 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 11-Inch Stir Fry Pan Cookware, BlackI bought this pan in Target about half a year ago. It was sort of accidental purchase, I was not looking for a skillet. I was just looking at pans they had there and noticed this pan only because of its shape: it looked like wok, but had some flat bottom. Then I start reading the description, and these magic words drawn my attention: "nonstick interior... Safe for use with metal utensils... PFOA, PTFE, Cadmium free".

I already have number of nonstick PFOA, PTFE, and Cadmium free pans. They all good, but have common issues: they do not last long, one needs to buy a variety of silicon utensils in order to use them properly, and most of them are good for sauteing, not for frying. At that time myBialetti Aeternum Saute Pan, 12-Inch started to wear out, so I bought this one.

I am so glad I did. This is an amazing pan by all means. It is truly nonstick, it needs little or no oil, it handles metal utensils great, and it fries, not only sautes! The omelet slides from it amazingly smooth, as it does from most of nonstick pans, but the steak slides from it same easy and perfectly seared.

The pan is surprisingly light weighted. The shape is perfect for me. The walls are wide and tall enough to keep my stove top clean of burned-on spots. The flat bottom (~6.5 inch in diameter) is perfect size for cooking for small family. Cleaning is easy because it NEVER(!!!) burns.

Long story short: I bought a second pan, just in case, but my friend took it from me she loved it so much. Then I bought one for Mom, and planning to buy two more: one for my sis, and one for my daughter.

The first skillet I bought in Target is still going strong, in fact it is still looks like new even though I use it every day several times a day. I use it for omelets, steaks, cheese sandwiches, stir fry, sautéing veggies, Jambalaya, I even cooked soup in it a couple of times and pasta.

So far I couldn't find a single flaw in it.

If you are looking for a perfect pan, healthy and safe, you can cook pretty much everything in this is the one to buy.

I am using this pan for almost anything. It is not heavy to handle and easy to clean. This is the best pan I ever had!

Emeril by All-Clad E9208264 Hard Anodized Nonstick 5-Quart Saute Pan with Lid Cookware, Black

Emeril by All-Clad E9208264 Hard Anodized Nonstick 5-Quart Saute Pan with Lid Cookware, BlackWas a good pan; liked it a lot. BUT had the pan for about 2 months before noticing that it had warped; middle is now higher than the sides; oil now pools around the rim of the pan, making frying difficult.Called All-Clad (they are in charge of Emerilware), who gave me a Return Authorization number. Will return for exchange, but I'm not optimistic; as the pan is lightweight, it will likely warp again.

As with all things in life you get what you pay for.I think that I will ultimately spring for the All-Clad Stainless 6 qt. Nonstick Saute Pan with Lid; it's almost $300.00 (!!!), but like my other 2 All-Clads, I spend the money once and have a great pan for the rest of my life.

I really like the pan.I had read a review before purchasing about the pan raising up in the middle which it does, but doesn't seem to be a problem cooking. It is a lot heavier than I thought it would be so makes it hard to wash, but all in all, it's a pretty good pan.

Revere 3520027 Line 2-Quart Covered Saucepan

Revere 3520027 Line 2-Quart Covered SaucepanI ordered this pot for my elderly father because he'd scorched his other Revere 2qt & it was warped & didn't heat properly anymore. The quality, as usual, is outstanding!! Besides the quality, the weight of the pot is perfect.I dislike the newer pots and pans which purport to heat faster and more evenly, but are impossible to pick up with anything in them for anyone, let alone an elderly person.I grew up with Revere ware and I use it in my own kitchen. Plus, as usual, dealing with Amazon makes the whole experience easy, comes right to the door, well packed, right on time...in today's day of "service", you can't ask for more.

This pot has outlasted every other piece of cookware I own.It cooks evenly and cleans easily.Although it's inexpensive, it's very well made.

Revere Ware is a cut below high-class items like All-Clad or Calphalon. But as moderately priced cookware, it is unsurpassed.Well made, smoothly finished, feels solid and hefty in the hand.We use the pan to cook oats, steam vegetables, and make the occasional small batch of popcorn, and we couldn't be happier.

There have been concerns that the quality of other Revere Ware products is not what it was. I bought this saucepan in February 2012 to replace one that had been damaged by boiling it dry.(We continued using the damaged saucepan for another year before buying a replacement; these things are solid.)Compared with the original pan, which was purchased as part of a set in 1995, the replacement is identical in size, finish, appearance, and weight. There is just one small difference: on the bottom, the original is stamped CLINTON, IL, USA.The replacement is stamped INDONESIA.Well, those Indonesians are making good stuff.

If you don't need top-of-the-line cookware, this particular Revere Ware product, with the aluminum disk on the bottom, provides fine value for money.

I hadn't purchased new Revereware in years as my old set is still very functional but I needed an extra pan that the steamer basket would fit. I am impressed with Revereware's newer 'flat bottom' cookware--perfect if you have a smoothe top range, which I now have. Pan sits flat on the cooktop for even cooking (unlike my copper-bottom old set). I will likely purchase a full set of Revereware flatbottom pots & pans to replace my old copper bottoms. Much cheaper on Amazon!

Vollrath Z4010 Wear-Ever CeramiGuard II Interior Fry Pan with Cool Handle, 10-Inch

Vollrath Z4010 Wear-Ever CeramiGuard II Interior Fry Pan with Cool Handle, 10-InchI bought my first Lincoln Wearever pan probably about 12 years ago.I have both a 10 inch and 7 inch pan, but only the 7 inch pan has the ceramigard coating. In using these pans nearly daily for all of that time, I haven't had to replace either of them until today.

I suppose you'll want to know why I'm buying another one, so to make a long story short, a friend was using the pan while we were camping and he was using a serrated knife to cut vegetables while he was cooking. In the pan.:-(Well they don't make a non stick pan that can put up with that abuse and my non-stick coating is now trashed, so here I am looking for a replacement 10 inch pan.The old one was not a ceramigard finish, but used the older wearguard finish.

As for my experiences in using these pans, they take quite a lot of abuse.I've used these on high heat for stir fry's and never had the coating break down. The only thing you do have to worry about is smoking your frying oil which will cause the oil to polymerize onto the coating and it's then very hard to remove. Also, the weight of these pans is superior to everything else I've found which helps to ensure even cooking. My old 10 inch pan weighs about 32 ounces with the rubber handle removed and most of that weight is in the thick bottom and sides of the pan. Finally, the nice gently sloped sides make flipping food very easy.I can even do eggs over easy without picking up a spatula in the morning (note: this takes a bit of practice).

To me, this is a no-brainer.Just buy it and don't think too much about it.It's exceedingly rare to find something of this quality in today's market.

Bought this pan to replace the one I bought over 20 years ago. That's right 20 years. My old pan finally wore out, mostly because other pans were being stored on top of it.The coating is the best out there and 20 years of regular use proves it.

Had this pan for about a month now.Good non-stick surface.Quality construction; sits flat on the burner.I was afraid the blue handle might come loose, but it has stayed tight so far.The only complaint is with the shipping. This pan comes from outside restuarant supply co. and they simply stuffed the pan between the layers of a flattened box, applied tape and mailed it.A good pan like this deserves better treatment.

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 14-Piece Cookware Set, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 14-Piece Cookware Set, Orange ()

When reviewing a set of cookware like this I always try to imagine who it was designed for and not to let my own personal preferences and biases effect how I judge the set.Having said that, I think that this is a great set for the casual (or reluctant) cook. Also, for those on a budget, newlyweds, first time home owners, etc.I am going to use this set in a summer/vacation home.I really like the assortment of pots, pans and skillets in this set so I thought that a video review might be helpful.Thank you.

()Upon initial inspection, all of the pots, pans, and lids/ covers were all neatly packed in cardboard and heavy plastic bags with the product's information and care instructions within one of the pots. All seemed to be well made and attractive looking with contrasting orange, rubber handles.I was glad to see that the handles were bolted on, as my old pots and pans have handles held onto the cookware with screws, which occasionally need to be tightened, an annoyance. This set lacked a large 12 or 14 inch skillet similar to the small 8 inch and medium 10 inch ones. The large 4.5 quart sauté pan was deep and wouldn't be ideal, for say, pancakes. The 8 and 10 inch skillets are too small for cooking a meal for my family. The second to largest pot appeared to have two minor imperfections in the non-stick surface finish inside, and at the bottom of the pot.I attempted to scratch whatever this was off with a wooden spoon first, and then with my fingernail, and finally with soap, water, and an abrasive plastic cleaning pad, all without success.

For the first meal, I decided to cook an old, reliable staple that everyone cooks pasta.A dish touted in this product's description on the Rachel Ray website.I cleaned the largest pot and lid for the pasta, and the large sauté pan and lid for the sauce.Incidentally, the largest pot and sauté pan share the same lid size, and are interchangeable.A nice feature. After I had cleaned and dried them, the cooking surfaces appear to remain slick, and I filled the large pot halfway with water. After it cooked, I really wished it had a pouring spout or a top to strain out the remaining liquid.

While I've owned non-stick cookware before, I was still surprised to read that these pots and pans are not intended to be used on high heat; the layers this cookware is made with can unravel over time. The care instructions recommend low to medium heat always. Although the lids are clear glass, they do steam up easily.

The next morning, I decided to make a fried egg for breakfast.Knowing the care instructions warnings against non-stick sprays, butter, olive oil, etc.I trusted this non-stick cookware to do just that. Not stick.I cracked an egg in the small 8 inch skillet on medium heat and away we went. After turning white, and not to my surprise, the egg did indeed stick, and very much so.I could not flip it, and ended up unintentionally breaking the yoke.It wasn't fun to eat, and the pan wasn't fun to clean.

So overall, I'm not sold on this set as I can see a few things I would want improved upon. It's just average...nothing I'd brag about but certainly better than some sets I've used.

()How well do these cook my meals?

Since I usually use my Cuisinart high-pressure cooker to cook everything under the sun, I was intrigued to see how well these performed compared to my usual staple kitchen item. I have to say, cooking bacon and eggs was pretty quick. The heat flows fast and pretty much evenly.

What is the construction like?

It's not cast-iron, so you will need to be somewhat careful with it in regards to tossing it into your cookware pantry. However, the handles and lids are of high quality, so I don't have to worry about those breaking or coming loose.

How non-stick are they?

It's pretty good. I mean, I always cook with a bit of coconut or olive oil, more less for flavor than to prevent sticking. However, when I fried an egg in smaller skillet, none of the egg stuck to the pan.

What is clean-up like?

As noted in the non-stick category, clean-up is easy as can be. The most effort you are going to need in cleanup are the lids and the rivets used to adhere the handles. Other than than, the cooking surfaces and sides require only the soft side of a sponge to get most of the food removed. (Granted, I'm saying this from the perspective that you wash your cookware right after you cook, and never let the food settle in the pans.)

()I don't know who Rachel Ray is, so this is just a review of the product. To say this set is easy to clean would be an understatement. I dare you to get anything stuck to these pans! This is a great set for someone just starting out or for replacing old cookware. You can tell the company thinks highly of the product just by its meticulous packaging; you will as well once you use it. You can't help but want to use it when you take it out of the package and feel the weight in your hand. We've made pretty much all the staple foods at our house in this set, and it's great for all your everyday cooking needs. I'm not crazy about the orange handles, but they are definitely easy to find in a dark cabinet, and you may like the orange more than you think. I love that some of the lids have release holes for steam; I don't know why they didn't just add that to all of them. I guess there are some gourmet chefs out there who could find a million things wrong with them, but as someone who has had multiple kitchen disasters (including destroying 3 crock pots), this has been a great product that actually helped me cook more and better. I'll probably never make a big holiday dinner, but this cooking set got me interested in cooking for the first time, so it's pretty miraculous in that respect. I think most people will be very happy with this set, and will use it for years to come.

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10105 15 1/4 Inch x 2 1/4 Inch Skillet with Assist Handle

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10105 15 1/4 Inch x 2 1/4 Inch Skillet with Assist HandleThere's not really a whole lot that you can say about an item like this it's a skillet. You put it on the stove, it gets hot, and then you cook food in it. In that regard my girlfriend and I are extremely satisfied with this product, but I'm writing this review because of our interaction with Old Mountain. We have several Old Mountain skillets of various sizes, and only occasionally need to use this enormous one, so we were well past our Amazon return window when we noticed a crack in the cast iron near the handle, running all the way down to the base. I can't say whether it arrived that way or if it was something we did, and I was resigned to having to purchase a new one, but my girlfriend decided to contact Old Mountain first. I'm glad she did they sent us a brand new skillet, no questions asked, and when we asked for the address to ship the damaged one to, they told us not to bother, and only asked us to recycle it rather than throw it away. I will certainly be purchasing from them again in the future.

The pan is fantastic for making tons of food. It's HUGE! It heats evenly and fits fairly well on two burners (I have a gas stove). The pan I purchased had a crack in it, but after contacting the Old Mountain, they were willing to replace it with no fuss. The pan is great and so is Old Mountain.

I needed a big skillet for when the boys come over and we cook in the shop.Looked around and this seemed to be the best deal going so I ordered one.Was seasoned and while it did have a couple of pits in the bottom it was smooth and has worked well. Will be around long after I am gone.Heavy and takes a bit to warm up but oh those fried potatoes are good and so is the bacon!

If you need a big one this it.....get it and enjoy.

CAT CORA by Starfrit Hard Anodized Fry Pan

CAT CORA by Starfrit Hard Anodized Fry Pan, 10-InchI think I'll be giving this away to one of the kids.Used it tonite to fry up a couple of burgers and I'll tell you, it took me quite a while and not a little elbow grease to clean it using a nylon scouring pad.Really expected easier clean-up. It does sit evenly on my rangetop (ceramic).

Found this little skillet to be quite the easy cooker. Very even heat distributin and even cooking with no significant spattering due to hot spots (4 hamburger patties). The cooking surface is slick to the touch and cleaned easily with mild dish soap and wiped dry. Buy this skillet and you will be pleased. We will buy the 12"and a covered pan soon.

I got two pans, one larger than the other. I'm a good cook and use proper techniques, however these pans are very difficult to clean. I was hoping these would last a while, but it's easier to clean up when I use my cast iron pans rather than these.

Cooks evenly but clean up is impossible! I have several other Cat Cora products and love them...but this one is disappointing. Buyer beware!

George Foreman GFP84GP Evolve Grill 84-Square Inch Shallow Griddle Accessory Pan

George Foreman GFP84GP Evolve Grill 84-Square Inch Shallow Griddle Accessory PanI got this for model number GRP92R, which is not listed as a fit in the description.I got out the tape measure and since it was the exact size of my grill's plates, I took the chance and ordered it and it's an exact fit.I'm tell this because some like me, may over look this because your model number is not listed as a fit. Also, you can order this directly from the George Forman website for half the price. This will turn my GF grill into a mini griddle where you can fry things like eggs and bacon that is awkward with the factory plates. Also pancakes, omelets and the such.

I bought this product because our other George Foreman needed to be replaced.I found this product on line and thought I should give it a try.To my surprise--we use this little kitchen marvel a lot!I love the waffel grill plates.

Its fast becoming our Sunday treat!

It is easy to clean and takes up very little storage space in our apartment.

Vollrath 4010 8-Guage Aluminum Wear-Ever Fry Pan with Natural Interior Finish, 10-Inch

Vollrath 4010 8-Guage Aluminum Wear-Ever Fry Pan with Natural Interior Finish, 10-InchThis is a serious cooking tool. I've long believed the need for non-stick cookware is overstated, and this frying pan, in natural aluminum without teflon or any other finish, proves it. Its comfortable but durable blue handle stays cool and won't slip or turn in your hand.

As with any frying pan, I'd recommend buying a well-fitting lid to control spatter.

We have never put this item in a dishwasher (no need to), so I can't comment on how it would do there. This is, however, a pan one sees in numbers in restaurant kitchens, so it's designed for hard use.

After about 8 years our skillet still looks almost new; I'd attribute this to hand-washing and the use of plastic implements to stir, flip, etc.

A friend bought me this pan over 20 years ago.It still looks as good as it did when I got it.Easy to clean, great to cook with!I highly recommend this pan to anyone who uses a stove!
