Circulon Acclaim Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square GriddlePurchased this griddle since I had the complete cookware pots and pans.I am totally pleased with the griddle as nothing sticks to it.You just run it under water, add a little dish soap and in seconds the griddle is perfectly clean.Highly recommend buying this product.

Great pans Circulon seems to work best out of all of them on our flat top range. They last very well also.

T-fal Ultimate Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Multi-Layer Base Dishwasher Safe Fry/Saute Pan, Silver

T-fal C7980764 Ultimate Stainless Steel Copper-Bottom Multi-Layer Base Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Fry / Saute Pan, SilverI bought this as a Christmas/birthday present for myself and it's exactly what I wanted it to be.You MUST season these pans, though.Just a bit of vegetable oil after heating the pans to a low temp keeps food from sticking. Also, I'm only washing them by hand to both keep them looking nice and to avoid immersing them in all that soapy water. You really just need a TINY bit of soap to clean them after each use.On the downside, I do find myself using just a BIT more oil than usual, but if you're cooking with healthy oils it's barely noticeable, and certainly isn't enough to change the taste of the food.I'm a vegetarian, and so I don't have cause to use these for cooking meat, but I'm sure they would do just fine.If you take care of them, they'll take great care of your food.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I love the cookware. I have the whole set. It works great over medium heat. I suggest medium to medium lw. Even so give it thumbs up

I've had this pan about a month now and it's become my go-to.Very even heating but still light enough to handle one handed for transferring and flipping.Sticking is not a factor as long as you remember to not just chuck things straight from the fridge into it, let them come up to room temperature first, especially eggs.Cleanup is a cinch, I recommend some stainless steel scouring balls, which have yet to affect the surface finish of the pan.

Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable Handle

Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable HandleI've used a lot of non-stick pans over the years, and sooner or later they've eventually started sticking or flaking off Teflon coatings.Generally I'd gotten cheaper pans and put up with the flaking into my food.

I researched pans a bunch on Amazon back in 2009, and decided to swing for some higher-end cookware, hoping that it meant durability would be better. After about two years of use, our All-Clad Master Chef 2 Nonstick 10-Inch Fry Pan started flaking on the top edge despite being fanatically careful about making sure it didn't get too hot, not using metal utensils anywhere near it, using any sort of abrasive pad washing it, or even washing it before the pan had cooled down. This correlated with the reviews I'd read, and the replacement process sounded like I'd be out of a pan for weeks, plus I wanted to get away from PFOE coatings.

We next bought a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, Red, which became our go-to pan, but despite all of the reviews swearing they were great for eggs, I've generally had to make an intended omelet into scrambled eggs because of sticking (even if I used a generous portion of butter or olive oil).

I started searching for PFOE-free pans after once again making a scramble, and stumbled across the Woll Nowo. The thing is bombproof.Titanium is awesome.Metal utensils is no biggie. It's a little slow to heat but like the Le Creuset, once it gets going it retains heat incredibly well. The pan cooks more evenly than the All-Clad.The detachable handle comes off easily, and can be put back on easily.I've cooked frittatas with it on the stovetop and then finished it in the oven, and it's all an easy motion.Be a little careful as the base of the handle can get pretty toasty after cooking for awhile.

Eggs never, ever stick. You can use less oil/butter/you name it, as nothing I've cooked in the last 2 months has managed to stick to it.Stuff I thought of as tricky is now cake.Omelets are a snap. This last weekend I made crepes in them, never needed butter or oil to coat the pan.

And given that the pan right now is almost $20 cheaper than the All-Clad, I feel silly for having put out more for something less durable.

It is a great product, doctors told us to cut the oil consumption and this product exactly does that you can still keep your food delicious by using the fraction of oil recommended in a recipe, can cook multiple times without worrying to clean each time after cooking, heavy bottom so food does not burn.

Great product

Best frying pan I've ever owned, full stop.

There really isn't much to say. Except for the price, there is NOTHING bad about this frying pan. I liked it so much I went and bought the saute pan with lid.

I like it even more than that paper towel holder with rubber grips on the bottom so you can one hand tear it properly every time. And I _really_ like that thing.

This is a solid pan, but its non-stick coating must be treated delicately. Its titanium finish, unlike the tough diamond pan, will scratch if metal spatulas are used.

I love fried food, and I have tried from good old cast iron to Le Creuset cast iron and many in between. This pan is by far, the best pan I have ever owned in terms of easy cleaning, not burning, non sticking. Get a good cover, and you got extremely versatile cooking tool. I just cooked sweet potato for some evening snack with a little bit of water. This pan cooks vegetables better than steamer.

Vollrath Z4008 Wear-Ever CeramiGuard II Interior Fry Pan with Cool Handle, 8-Inch

Vollrath Z4008 Wear-Ever CeramiGuard II Interior Fry Pan with Cool Handle, 8-InchThis pan is awesome.Tough non-stick does not scratch easy and works great.Very little will stick to the great coating and the rubber handle always stays cool. The heavy duty rivets are sure to never break.I bought this one to replace my old one, which got pretty much daily use for over five years, until it eventually started to loose teflon in the food.

The only downside I have is the handle is pretty heavy, which causes it to lean back on my gas stove. This is likely just a design conflict between the pan and my stove, but if I put it on there just right, it holds it's balance just fine.

Vollrath Z4008 Wear-Ever Aluminum Fry Pan with CeramiGuard II Non-Stick with Cool Handle is an excellent choice of cookware. This frying pan heats up fast and cleans up just as fast. It keeps food from sticking and allows it to just slide out easily, there for,it cleans up the same way, no sticky food no mess to clean.

The pan is a nice weight and you don't have to use spray for cooking if you don't want. My only concern was that both pans shipped but there was nothingin the box about how to care for the pan, if it could be put into the oven ( I believe it said when I bought it that it could be put in an oven to 350 degrees ), if it was dishwasher safe, and what kind oftemperature with a gas range is best suited for it. What IS CeramiGuard, anyway?

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, OrangeI bought the pan because I was in the market for a griddle type pan, and I was really interested in the new oval shapes in cookware. I enjoy Rachael Ray's show and follow quite a few of her recipes, and that orange trim really caught my eye, so I bought it.

Other than the fact that I wish the handle were on the shorter end rather than centered at the widest point, (because maneuvering can be tricky unless you have a huge rangetop), I'm pleased with the way it cooks. I'm lucky enough with a large enough kitchen that I can leave it out, because it's rather eye-catching, (I bought the saute' pan too, with the lid) and I find myself using it more and more often. It's great for searing. I made wonderful porkchops last night. I recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune, but still want those nice grill marks in a pan.

I actually bought this pan on extreme impulse...to make a flank steak philly cheesesteak something-or-other that I caught on the Rachel Ray show (demonstrated on this very pan,of course). The size is unique and very useful for long cuts of meat or to set things off to the side like a real grill. It is truly non-stick and cleans up very easily. It's heavy gauge, even-cooking, and decently priced.I find Rachel a little annoying to listen to generally...but I'm glad I listened to her this time!

Rachael Ray's recent cookbook has "orange" in the title, because, as she puts it, it's her favorite color. This grill pan, as one might guess, has a characteristic orange handle.

But the key point is simple: this works pretty well.Once the weather gets colder, I begin to use grill pans a lot more. For small jobs, I have a nice 10 inch circular grill pan.But when I have to grill chicken or pork chops or fish for several people, that pan just doesn't do the trick. And there is where Ray's grill pan comes into play.

My recipes for grilled chicken and fish for three (or sometimes four) people calls for a larger grill pan.The oval pan here is just the ticket. I put it over two burners (maybe I'm sinning in doing this) and grill the food. The end result is pretty good. The nonstick surface seldom leads to what's being grilled sticking (some nonstick surfaces aren't nonstick!).

All in all, then, I really appreciate this grill pan. If my experience is typical, then this is something that those wanting a good grill pan might think of acquiring.

Lodge Pro-Logic P14P3 Cast Iron Pizza Pan, Black, 14-inch

Lodge Pro-Logic P14P3 Cast Iron Pizza Pan, Black, 14-inchThis review is divided into two parts:

1. A short review for those who want quick info

2. A long review for those curious about the ins and outs of this great piece of cookware.

I have also attached photos (see customer images above)

SHORT REVIEW

Pros:

*Preseasoned

*Multiple uses

*Can be used almost anywhere

*Makes best pizza ever

*Heats evenly

*Won't stain

*Provides iron in diet

*Easy cleanup

*Made in the USA

Cons:

*It is 11 pounds (Not a con for me, but could be heavy for some)

Bottom Line:

Glad I bought it and would recommend it to anyone interested.

LONG REVIEW

What comes in the box:

*Lodge Logic Preseasoned Pizza Pan16 x 15 x 2.5 (** Cooking surface is 14 inches **), 11 pounds. The length of the pan from handle to handle is exactly 15 and 1/4 inches (38.74 cm).

*Recipe Card with recipes for: pizza dough, pizza sauce, muffuletta pizza, mushroom & sweet pepper pizza, herb roasted potatoes, & instructions on how to care for your cast iron.

Preseasoned:

Preseasoned is a great thing but realize what it means. It means that it is on its way to being fully seasoned; like 2/3 of the way done. Before you can get that true black cast iron slickness, it still needs one or two more rounds in the oven with Crisco or just cook a pound a bacon on it like I did.

Multiple uses:

*Pizza Pan

*Roasting vegetables

*Overall Baking sheet (bake cookies, breads, biscuits, fries, pastries, etc). Please note that flavors can transfer onto the pan so you may have to clean it between different uses.

*Griddle on stove for eggs, bacon, pancakes, burgers, hot dogsand similar items

*Stir Fry (Use it on one burner; the middle gets the hottest and it gets cooler towards the edges, just like a wok!)

*Broiler Plate for the oven

*Shallow roaster

*Tortilla warmer

*Crepe/dosa maker

As a side note I have used this in the oven at 450 degrees without a problem.Just remember that the pan will be extremely hot and any sudden changes in temperature may cause the pan to warp or crack so please be careful. For example, if I took the pan out of a blazing hot oven and ran cold water on it right away, it may bend or break. It always best to let the pan get to a manageable temperature before starting the cleanup.

Can be used almost anywhere:

This pan can be used on almost any surface; on the stove (I have used it on both gas and electric ranges), in the oven and under the broiler, on the grill (both gas and charcoal), even with a campfire/hot coals if you know what you are doing.

Pizza:

It makes the best pizza I have ever had.The pan heats evenly all the way to the center creating a perfect, uniform crust.I sometimes make my own dough but in a pinch I go down to my favorite local pizzeria and buy some dough from them. The pan can make crispy or soft pizza.

Everyone has their own method to making pizza and this is mine:

For crispy pizza:

Place the dough on room temperature Lodge Pro Logic Pizza Pan and put it in a 400 degree oven for 5-8 min.Once the dough starts to get firm, take it out the oven, spread out a half a cup of sauce, and evenly cover with cheese. At this point you can add whatever toppings you like (make sure meat toppings are already cooked). Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes until desired crispness.2 minutes before I pull it from the oven, I add a little more cheese so it is just melted and gives you that string cheese pull like in the commercials.(see customer image above)

For softer pizza, follow the same directions as above without first baking the dough.

I serve & cut the pizza in the pan.Although the pizza does still cook while in the pan, I noticed it basically keeps it warm until the last slice.I use a pizza cutter from the dollar store which will cut the pizza but will not scratch or scrap the seasoning off.If you cut your pizza in the pan, please be careful not to scratch seasoning. If you do, just reseason (see below).

Because it is cast iron, it won't stain like a pizza stone or get those burnt spots like aluminum does. Also, cooking in cast iron provides iron in your diet because the food absorbs some of the iron.

Size:

It makes a pizza big enough for 2 people with a good appetite (assuming they have a side dish) or 3 people with less of an appetite.Sometimes the pizza is so good I can eat the whole thing myself! Normally, I eat about 2/3 of the pie along with a side salad and I am satisfied--I do have a good appetite. If I had a large family, I would definitely consider buying two.Of course for you folks with the large family, try one pan first and then make the decision yourself.(The photos included above do have a US quarter in the picture so you can gauge the size of the pie).

Clean up & Seasoning:

After cooking, take a dry paper towel while the pan is still warm and wipe it down (if it is really dirty use a little water but I never use soap). If you use water, you can reheat the pan to get it dry. After it is clean and dry, spray it with Pam and then wipe away any excess oil.Place pan back in the warm oven or on top of the burner just used. That's it! The residual heat will reseason the pan while the oven/stove is cooling down.Food never sticks using this method. If your seasoning ever comes off, just apply some oil and bake in the oven; repeat as necessary.Be careful not to use too much oil while seasoning or you will get a sticky or gummy residue on it--this should be avoided.

An added bonus is that it is made in the USA by Lodge, so you can buy and use with confidence knowing this product was made here by a company with over 100 years experience in the business.Lodge customer service has always been super helpful and friendly to me.

So in conclusion, this is a great pan that I am sure you will love as much as I do!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them.I check this post regularly and would love to hear from you!

I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for reading.

Best pizza pan by far. And I should know, I've had several, including one of those round stones. Great baking, nonstick and like all cast iron, should last forever. One nice thing is the lip of the pan, no more pizza sauce or cheese spills. If you need one (or two) this is it, you'll never need another one.

This pan cooks wonderful pizzas! The iron holds the heat, and uniformly cooks the crust. It is just awesome! Since it is preseasoned, all you need to do is follow the directions, and you will have NONSTICK pizza every time! Remember, do not use soap with cast iron! Hot water is all that is necessary.(and a little vegetable oil rubbed in before cooking)... You will not be disappointed with this pizza pan, and it will last for generations~~literally!

Bought one of these a year ago, and used it several times. Really liked it non-stick, even cooking, makes GREAT pizza. This weekend I needed to make two pizzas, so I used this and a regular aluminum pizza pan. As usual, pizza was perfect on the Lodge. By comparison, the pizza stuck to the aluminum, was burned in sections and the crust was overly crisp. The aluminmum pizza pan got tossed and I bought a second Lodge Pro Logic pizza pan.

I am totally sold on the Lodge Logic and Pro-Logic lines. They are the workhorses of the kitchen. I have just about every pan they make in these lines, and while I have a superb set of copper cookware and stainless when it's heavy duty cooking, these are what I reach for.

Pros: easy care, easy clean up. Pour a little hot water in the pan when done and use a scrubber rinse in hot water, dry and wipe down with a very thin coating of vegetable or canola oil. Can take high temperatures without warping. Already seasoned (for those of us who just can't seem to get the seasoning of cast iron down pat!) Hefty, sturdy, well made. Get smooth and black after steady usage and proper maintenance.

Farberware Dishwasher Safe Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

Farberware Dishwasher Safe Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set, Champagne ()So, you are thinking about buying a nonstick cookware set?And you're wondering if you should buy a more expensive set or a less expensive set?Well, let's compare two sets to help you decide. We will use this less expensive Farberware set, and the much more expensive Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set.

Okay, first, you need to ask yourself who will be using the cookware, and will anyone possibly mistreat your new pots and pans? For example, this Farberware set is suppose to be used with only plastic utensils, whereas the Anolon set can be used with metal utensils. But the Anolon is suppose to be hand washed, whereas the Farberware can be put in the dishwasher.Apparently, neither are suppose to be used with a really high heat setting on the range.( And if you are worried about PFOA, which the EPA does not seem to be where nonstick cookware is concerned, never use the pans on high heat, and toss them if the nonstick surface begins to flake.)In the oven, the Anolon is good for up to 450 degrees, and the Farberware up to 350 degrees.Of course, the question here is who puts these type of pots and pans in the oven and why?

Next, how important is appearance and weight to you?The Anolon set is a truly beautiful black set.The Farberware not as pretty . . . only because it's much cheaper . . . but still a lovely brushed silver color. The handles on the Anolon are padded with silicone and are dual riveted. That means they are attached very tightly and you see no screws. The Farberware handles are not padded, and are attached with one visible screw. This means you can easily tighten any handles that become loose with a screwdriver. Now, for all you weight conscious cooks:The 10 inch skillet in the Farberware set weighs 1 pound, 2.8 ounces, whereas the 8.5 inch skillet in the Anolon set weighs 1 pound, 11.6 ounces. The 3 quart Farberware saucepan weighs 1 pound, 2 ounces, while the 1.5 quart Anolon saucepan weighs 1 pound, 1.2 ounces. One of the Farberware lids weighs 1 pound, 4.4 ounces, and an Anolon lid of the same size weighs 1 pound, 6.2 ounces.

Most importantly, does the much less expensive Farberware set work well on the range?Well, I have encountered no problems at all using a ceramic glass radiant range top .Nothing has stuck to any of the pots and pans, and I have used the highest heat to make omelets.I have also used the highest heat to burn the edges of bologna . . . a leftover childhood thing. . . only we didn't call it bologna back then . . . we called it baloney.I've also repeatedly washed the pots and pans in the dishwasher with excellent results.

So, which set to get?Well, if you have kids who you fear will destroy your nonstick cookware, you might want to get this Farberware set.Or, actually, you could get three sets of the Farberware for the cost of one set of the Anolon. Then, if a pot or pan is destroyed by the kids, you can just pull out an exact duplicate from one of the other two sets.(This will teach your children that they will not make you cry!)Or, if you really like beautiful, heavyweight cookware, you might get the Anolon set for yourself, and a Farberware set for the kids.Or, if you can't quite fit the Anolon set into your budget, have no reservations about getting this Farberware set.I don't know how long it will last compared to the Anolon, but the Farberware does a really good nonstick job of cooking, especially omelets in the 10 inch skillet. And after you finish cooking your omelets, you can just rinse the skillet and toss it in the dishwasher, along with the included plastic spatula ... which, by the way, weighs exactly 1.4 ounces.

()This set of pots and pans (with utensils) is ok for a starter set Someone who just got their own place, just starting out cooking on their own, college students, not sure how they will take care of them, etc. I would not recommend it for someone who is cooking full meals daily for their family. I don't feel this set offers the quality/durability to stand up to daily use. It reminds me of the cheap sets you can get for about 40 bucks or so.

I do like the color. It is like a pale beige color. It's different, neutral, will match any decor.

The utensils are your basic plastic/nylon(?) utensils. Cheap, but get the job done without harming the nonstick surface.

I like that the skillet is a bit deeper and doesn't have the slanted sides. The cook area is as wide as the brim of the sides, so grease, food, etc is less likely to splatter or slosh out.

The fry pan was a bit too shallow for my liking and seemed to have a small cook area in general. I found it hard to cook off 1 lb of hamburger in it without making a mess meat spilling over when trying to move it around for even cooking, etc. Alot of grease splatters.

The set is very lightweight, which some people may like for certain reasons, but I myself like a bit more heft to my pots and pans. These slide around way too easily on the burner while you're trying to stir or move around whatever it is you're cooking in them. It gets to be annoying. They have a "cheap" feel to them since they are so lightweight/thin. Handles are basic plastic. Lids are ok, with same plastic knobs.

I found the bottoms discolored easily even though not used on high heat. I have a gas stove/oven in case this makes any difference.

This is an ok set if you are on a budget, however there are other sets in the same price range that are more durable and have a better heft to them. For that reason, this is not a set that I would specifically recommend to anyone. I didn't find anything about them to be all that impressive. The non stick surface has me wondering how long it will last, as it is not your typical black coated surface. With as thin as the pans are, it makes me think the coating will "cook" off or bubble off etc. You can tell it is not a thick coating. It almost seems like a light layer of (powdercoating) paint.

If you like Farberware products and/or are looking for a great set under 100 dollars, I'd recommend this set http://www.amazon.com/Farberware-21391-Performance-Dishwasher-Nonstick/dp/B005DXPYNMIt feels better in your hand, it is not as lightweight, the pots and pans aren't thin, they have that bit of heft/solid build feel, and the non stick surface is great. You can tell it's really coated.

()These pots, you get what you pay for.The price is low and the pots reflect that, but they are not bad for the price. The saucepans are VERY small, and I cannot see cooking for more than 2 people in them, and the frying pan bottom is so small it might cook one grilled cheese or 2 eggs, and it is also a very shallow pan.So, if you want something for a larger family, I suggest looking at other sets. That being said, these are of average quality, and they performed well. The metal is on the thin side (the plus side to this is that water boiled very quickly!,) and the handles are not substantial enough to feel "right" in my hand. The handles are flimsy and short. The tops fit well, but because of how the handles on the tops are shaped, you need to use a pot holder to remove them or else you might touch the glass with the side of your hand or fingers and will get burned. The handle on the stock pot cover was also loose and had to be tightened back down.A loop design on the cover handles would have made more sense.A big plus...the non-stick is truly non-stick!I cooked scrambled eggs, with cheese, and used no cooking spray or oil.Not one bit stuck to the bottom!I was highly impressed. The outside is also non-stick, which is a plus for cleanup. The rim of the pots is not non-stick, however, and it took some scrubbing to get the melted cheese off.The champagne color is a beige/gray, which I find different and pleasing. The plastic cooking utensils that come with it are low quality, but adequate for having something to start out with. These are also dishwasher safe, which most non-stick pots are not (at least not better quality ones) and they are oven safe to 350, which might be good for keeping something warm, but at least for me, I cook most things at a temp over 350 so I don't see a big use for the oven safe feature.I think this set would be great for a single person or a college dorm, but not something I would choose for my family kitchen.

()...the quality is not great. If you're looking for a decent price on a large set of cookware, then this is an excellent deal. I love the glass tops so you can see how it's cooking for things that you shouldn't lift the lid like rice and popcorn especially fun for kids :-) And speaking of the tops...they fit well and have a plastic handle, although it does get to hot to handle is some situations.

The quality concern i have is the pots are not very heavy duty. If I was looking for a wedding giftit would be better to get a higher quality single-pot that the newlyweds will cherish forever. If you're just starting out with homemaking and buying for yourself, you might want to visit Bed, Bath, and Beyond or any cooking store to really inspect and find the cookware you love.

փ Positives:

փ Although there are other cookware sets with better heavier-gauge construction, the economy-level budget-minded pricing of this cookware set offers excellent value for the money.

փ The exterior "Champagne" finish looks nice and the glass lids have a nice fit and finish to them.

ჯ Negatives:

ჯ The 10-inch skillet is slightly too shallow for my preference.

ჯ This 12-piece cookware set is really only 9 pieces, if you exclude the 3 very-ordinary plastic cooking utensils that are included.

The first thing that I noticed about this cookware set, long before I even received the product, was its very attractive and competitive price. You can easily pay two or three times this much for another 12-piece nonstick cookware set. Now, having said that, I do believe that the "you get what you pay for" law of pricing economics still applies here. Most of my cookware is high-quality stainless steel, including some with copper bottoms. Stainless steel is the day-to-day workhorse in my kitchen, and I like the versatility of stainless steel in being dishwasher-safe and yet also oven/broiler safe. I also use anodized aluminum. But I only reach for nonstick cookware strictly on an as-needed basis because I try to maximize the longevity of its nonstick surface, whereas some people just have one set of nonstick cookware that they constantly cook everything in.

This cookware set was shipped in a very sturdy box with numerous cardboard inserts that kept everything in a pristine condition. I like the combination of the 1-quart and 2-quart covered saucepans, 5-quart covered dutch oven, 2-3/4-quart covered saute, 10-inch skillet, and the slotted turner, slotted spoon, solid spoon that are also included in the set. The exterior "Champagne" finish looks nice and the glass lids have a nice fit and finish to them.

Unfortunately, the Amazon photos for this product currently do not display everything that you get with the cookware set. The 12 "pieces" that you get are 5 cookware pots/pans, 4 glass lids, and 3 kitchen utensils. While I would have gladly traded the three kitchen utensils for two more pots or pans and one lid, this is a fairly common practice for cookware sets to include cooking utensils that are part of the "piece" count. Perhaps if Farberware included more pots/pans instead of the three cooking utensils, they would have had to increase the total price more. But this is one of my two gripes with this cookware set: I would gladly pay more to trade the three cooking utensils for a 3-quart covered saucepan and a 12-inch skillet (only a 10-inch skillet is included). The second of my two gripes with this cookware set is that the 10-inch skillet is slightly too shallow for my preference. Some 10-inch skillets are deeper than this one, and I prefer a slightly deeper skillet; your own preference may differ from mine.

The "Teflon Plus" coating on this cookware performed very admirably. I was able to cook a variety of egg and cheese dishes without the use of any cooking spray or oil and nothing ever stuck to the surface. Clean-up of both the interior and exterior surfaces was easy too; I did not even need to use the scrubber side of the kitchen sponge to wipe the nonstick surface. At most, for the stubborn food that was stuck on, I just let the cookware soak in a tub of warm soapy water for a short period before sponging the residues off.

Even though the box for this cookware advertises that its "heavy gauge construction distributes heat evenly throughout the pan and reduces hot spots", this cookware really uses a light-gauge metal. The cookware heats up quickly enough and it is totally sufficient for various egg dishes. The good news is that you can easily lift this light-in-weight cookware when it is all loaded with food. The bad news is that, contrary to the advertisement on the box, you will get more uneven heat distribution compared to a thicker heavier cookware set. If you turn up your stove burner to "High" under a thin pot like this, you will get hot-spots because the rate of heat coming into the cookware is greater than the rate at which the cookware can dissipate the heat across its surface, and thicker cookware allows more cross-sectional area for heat dissipation, resulting in a much more even temperature in all areas of a pot. But you can work with the thinner gauge construction of this cookware by frequently stirring more to manually distribute the heat better.

Some nonstick cookware *claim* to be oven-safe. I think that using nonstick cookware in an oven to 300 or 350 degrees may be okay (and this cookware is supposedly safe to 350 degrees), but some brands of nonstick cookware even claim to be oven-safe out to 450 or 500 degrees. Frankly, I do not want to risk the degradation of these highly synthetic PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) compounds like the Teflon that is used in this nonstick cookware set because the fumes from overheated PTFE are not healthy to breathe in. So I only use nonstick cookware when I *really* need its nonstick advantage (cooking eggs is a classic example), and I throw away nonstick cookware the moment that the surface coating starts to scratch or flake off, which it always does eventually regardless of how carefully I try to not scratch the surface. So I like to invest in high-quality stainless steel cookware, but I do not care to spend a lot for a top-of-the-line nonstick set when I know that I will eventually be throwing some of them away. And this is why I think this economically-priced is great for my purposes. If this cookware set was priced at over $100, I would rate this 4 stars, but when I also take into account its very competitive pricing, I rate this 5 stars.

Some pros and cons of this nonstick cookware set also apply to ALL nonstick cookware, regardless of price. For example, if your cooking requires prolonged high heat, do not use nonstick cookware because the surface coatings cannot withstand that. All nonstick cookware, and not just this set, is best suited for low to medium heat only. Nonstick cookware is also not good for searing and browning. The best searing/browning is done in cast iron, followed by stainless steel, followed by aluminum, and lightweight nonstick cookware like this ranks last for effectively browning and searing.

This cookware set includes a "Important Safety, Use, & Care Information" pamphlet that repeatedly emphasizes to never let cookware (any kind of cookware really) boil dry. If you have birds as pets, the safety pamphlet also warns that the PTFE/Teflon coating on nonstick cookware can emit fumes that can kill birds because the birds' respiratory systems cannot handle the fumes. This also applies to the overheating of cooking sprays, oils, fats, margarine, and butter, which can be toxic to birds. While overheating or boiling dry any kind of cookware is never a good idea, the health hazards, both for birds and humans, are more acute when using PTFE/Teflon-coated nonstick cookware. Even though PTFE/Teflon fumes can kill birds but does not kill humans, this still does not provide me with totally reassuring confidence to convince me that I can use nonstick cookware to cook all of my everyday meals. This is another reason why I use nonstick cookware only when I really need its nonstick ability.I emphasize this again because it is important: never overheat nonstick cookware.Overheating Teflon can cause the release of fumes that can cause flu-like symptoms in humans, a syndrome that is called "polymer fume fever".Additionally, the journal "Environmental Health Perspectives" published a study conducted by researchers from Yale University and Harvard Medical School where they found that the perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) used in Teflon are "associated with higher prevalence of osteoarthritis, particularly in women, a group that is disproportionately impacted by this chronic disease".Their analysis showed that women who had the most exposure to PFOA had twice the odds of developing arthritis compared to women with the lowest exposures; PFOS exposure was also associated with arthritis in women, but not as significantly as PFOA.

௫ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Conclusion:

Overall, I like this cookware set. I almost rated this 4 stars instead of 5, but when I also take into account its economy-level budget-minded pricing, I became less demanding of it; it is not fair to rate this cookware's performance compared to $300 cookware. But, then again, I also sometimes do not need to use nonstick cookware for one or two weeks. If your cooking really requires daily use of nonstick cookware, then you should look for a better cookware set with a heavier gauge mass than this one. This cookware set would make an ideal gift for a college student or a recent college graduate, or if, like me, you do not need to use nonstick cookware for every meal. Just be sure to remind yourself or the person to whom you are giving this to be careful not to scratch the nonstick surface and throw away a nonstick cookware the moment that its nonstick coating starts to scratch or flake off.

Cuisinart 623-24 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Inch Crepe Pan

Cuisinart 623-24 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Inch Crepe PanThis is a nice heavyweight pan no hot spots at all, so even egg crepes are easy (crepe-thick omelets).

Like most nonstick, it probably won't last long under high heat, but I'm not sure why one of the other reviewers would ever use high heat to make crepes...

It would have been a 5 if Cuisinart had packaged it so that the surface wouldn't scratch during shipping it is sold "open stock", in other words, no packaging except for a paper label.

I have been making crepes for years and this this the first pan I have purchased made specifically for crepes. I love it!!! It's just the perfect size...not too big nor too small. The weight is good and it cooks the crepes with an even browning. I am very happy with my purchase...I spent hours looking for just the right one..and I found it!

When I read non-stick, I always wonder as there seems to be a lot of variance in how non-stick cookware actually is.I compared this with my most non-stick pans which is calphalon unison GLIDE and I would stay they are both equally wonderful in their non-stick feature.this crepe pan is perfectly designed for crepes with its low sides and rounded base.perfectly light-weight and perfect size for burners.I was going to wipe it clean with a wet paper towel but it didn't need it!I would recommend this cuisinart crepe pan to novice or chef alike.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, MarseilleI'm a huge fan of Le Cruest's products and own a few well chosen pieces. Having said that, this new satin finish is a disappointment. I was given this a gift a year ago and was thrilleduntil I used it.

I really wish they'd go back to their original smooth enamel finish. This must be an attempt to produce an interior more durable for using metal utensils with. An attempt that in my opinion is a failure. Things (like eggs and hamburgers) stick to this finish. You have to use a lot more fat to prevent sticking. It's hard to get clean, takes quite a bit of scrubbing even after soaking. It doesn't give the finish to grilled meats, etc that I want from a fry pan. Forget deglazing it to make a sauce. I find my All Clad 9 inch skillet to be a superior performer to this one.

Since this is a 9 inch skillet, I haven't used it to saute onions, etc., so I can't say how it performs with these items.

I do use it to make cornbread and to roast small portions of meats or veg in the oven, with good results (as long as I'm not going to use the browned bits to make a sauce). This to me though, is not enough uses to justify buying it.

I got this pan last spring and I really enjoy using it. I have not had the sticking problems that other people mention. I have made omelettes in it using spray-on oil and they have not stuck at all. Have used the skillet to cook bacon and sausage as well, again with no sticking. I do use a lower heat with this skillet ... it works much better if you do NOT turn the heat on high.

I have numerous Le Creuset items, and this has to be the worst one.Everything sticks to the finish.Salsbury steak turns out horrible (can't make gravy), breakfast sausage patties become ground sausage pieces due to the sticking. And, like mentioned in an earlier post, it is hard to clean.Beware this new finish, (they have it on their grill pans also)it is not up to par.

I purchased this pan about a year ago and I'm very disappointed with its performance. As soon as it arrived I read the instructions and was surprised to learn I should not cook with it at high temperatures. I followed the instructions at all times. I've successfully seasoned standard cast iron cookware in the past but had no success with this pan. Just about everything I cook sticks.

I really researched pans before buying this one.I love the non-stick pans but hate all I am reading about their possible health hazards.Since I cook a lot and for my family, this was a real concern.Again and again I have heard of the value of cooking with cast iron.So I decided to buy one and followed the directions.I always heat up the pan first on a med. to med.-low temperature, I just coat the pan in a thin layer of olive oil (which is good for you) or vegetable oil, then I put in my eggs, onions, vegetables, warm up left overs, whatever.Very little sticking happens if you cook like this. When the pan is cool I just let it soak for about 5 minutes in hot water and voila, easy to clean pan.I have had stainless steel pans and all the "best brands" and found that food stuck to them more than the cast-iron.Nothing can compare with non-stick but who wants the possible health problems that could come with using it over long term.

Also if you choose the cast iron without enamel it is a very good source of iron.

All-Clad Stainless 14-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan

All-Clad Stainless 14-Inch Nonstick Fry Panthat said, the All-Clad Stainless 14-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan has clearly failed. the non-stick surface began to deteriorate long before any other non-stick pan we've owned has in the past.

we received this pan as part of 10-peice set, and really, it's the only complaint we have about the set in general. the rest of the All-Clad pieces have performed beautifully and withstood all of the rigors of being cookware in a house with two accomplished and passionate chefs.

about a year ago we gave up on this pan and purchased the 'Restaurant Fry Pan Set' from Nordic Ware (8" and 10") and they have performed much better than the All-Clad version of the same and held there non-stick surface now four times as long -at a fraction of the cost! unfortunately this set is not currently available on amazon.

Note: I should point out, in response to the "weekend" chef who gave this pan five stars, that both my wife and I are well versed in the care of non-stick pans (plastic and wooden utensils only, let them cool before you wash them, etc.) and the surface still deteriorated. I'm sticking to my guns, (no pun intended) these two other non-stick fry pans have now lasted over four years without a hitch. the All-Clad lasted only six-months with the same love and care.

I must agree with the negative reviewers that this pan's nonstick coating began coming off almost immediately after I began using it.I'm not talking about scratches, which often are a result of using the wrong kind of implements for cooking and cleaning. My pan began pock all over, even up the sides where I rarely touch them.I hung on to this pan for 3 years, simply because I could not bear to part with it for the expense. But eventually I had to treat it like my other All-Clad pans (which I LOVE) and use full amounts of oil to cook.It was no longer worth using.

Although the reviewer who loves this pan was "certain" the rest of us who have not liked this pan were not caring for the pan properly, that "certainty" is based on nothing but speculation.I cared for my pan precisely according to the directions provided by All-Clad.Of course, I could have asked All-Clad to replace it early on, since it was clear the nonstick coating was coming off on its own accord. But that would not have changed the fact that the coating on my pan was coming off.

When I went to acquire a non-stick pan, I was dubious of all of them.Teflon is a great substance (thanks Du Pont!) but it scratches way too easy for anything in the kitchen.I had burned through several non-stick pans that were well cheapo no name pans.

I picked up quite a few All-Clads at once 6 or 7 years ago.It was time to trash all the hand-me-down pans from the parents and ex-roommates over the years.

I have no idea what this "professional-grade" bonded material is but it has been nothing but perfect for us as a family. While I actively avoid scraping it with metal utensils, it does get stacked with other metal pans inside it in a drawer and in the sink.It still does not have a single scratch or blemish and we use it more than any other fry pan.The only pan that sees more use is a small Silit pan I bought in Germany 9 years ago.We actually plan on buying an 8" and probably a 12" soon.

You can cook just about anything without burning it within reason.Naturally oil will still smoke, but when this is on low flame I can walk out of the kitchen if I need to.So the core of the pan distributing the heat well and the non-stick surface seems to drastically reduce burning.Making an omelette for two in this pan is crazy easy. You can just stir up your eggs and goodies, let it set to solid on low, and simply use a plastic/silicon spatula to flip it over in half.Presto, you are done.In the regular stainless All-Clad fry pans we have, we would have to constantly scrap the omelette off the bottom to prevent burning and that just does not work well with an omelette heh.

From hamburger helper to saffron rosotto we have nothing to say but good things about this pan.I am actually quite surprised that it is a material bonded to steel and not anodized aluminum on the inside since it seems so impervious.

Back when I got ours, it was definitely made in Pennsylvania.Perhaps some other later batches were offshored and not quite up to snuff?Other than that I could only guess that folks with problem pans are perhaps cooking things in it that we are not.Since I have no idea what this coating is, I could not even begin to guess what might affect it.Other than not cooking meat that often, we cook just about everything in the pan.

I purchased the complete All-Clad set over 5 years ago and the 14-inch fry pan will need to be tossed. The teflon is fraying and coming off at the top of the pan, but not in the center. The smaller saute pan is fine as well as the other pieces, so I'm keeping those. I don't know if it's some sort of defect in the larger fry pan, but I'm disappointed. What would I do differently? Probably buy each All-Clad piece separately and get another larger fry pan from another brand.

I purchased this fry pan in June of this year and it is almost to a state where it is ready to be thrown away as of December 1st.I would have expected the nonstick surface to be of superior quality and durability from All-Clad, but the sad truth is that I have had cheap grocery store pans that have maintained the coating far longer, and a small fraction of the cost. After just a few weeks the surface became scratched on this pan and the coating started to come off in the food ick!I love the uncoated All-Clad, but I will be looking elsewhere for nonstick in the future.

Clipper High Heat Spoon Spatula, Red Handle

Clipper 215-00325 14-Inch High Heat Spoon Spatula, Red HandleAfter time after time of cooking eggs and having my cheap IKEA spatula melt on me, I decided to go on amazon and get a replacement. I just wanted something high heat, so I searched for that and found what looked the most affordable (though IKEA is like 99cents).

The product came and I've been using it to make eggs and anything else ever since. It's sturdy and durable, the handle is firm and the spatula feels substantial. I see no warping or degeneration when high heat is used, and it's totally non reactive. For the price, it's everything I wanted and more. I promptly threw away my other cheap IKEA spatulas and will be using this for the seen future.

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware SetI really wish that people would not leave comments on cookware that they have had for less than a year.Of course when it's new, it's great. However, please note that the reviewers who have had theirs for more than a year are telling you it DOES scratch easily. This is a very expensive set for nonstick.I took very good care of mine because it was so expensive, I always handwashed my cookware and did not abuse it.But it still scratched after 3 months.Fortunately the company that I bought it from stood behind it and took it back, because Swiss Diamond's warranty is awful!Look at some of these reviews and you'll see that people who had to deal with the company are saying that Swiss Diamond keeps claiming "abuse".How convenient and shady of the company. The nonstick was great and it cooked nicely, but when mine scratched, I contacted the company and was given, in an email, "this warranty does not cover stains, discoloration, scratch marks, or dents".HUH???What DOES it cover then? And once a pan is scratched it's ruined. So since it scratched so easily and the company does not stand behind their warranty, I decided to return the entire set rather than get stuck with a $500 set that will be just like any other nonstick set within a few years.Don't listen to reviewers who have only had theirs a short while look at the reviewers who have had theirs for awhile or have had to deal with the company. They are all saying the same thing it DOES scratch, get pits, and stains and the company does not stand behind it.

We spent a lot of money ($150) on the 12-inch sautee pan which is advertised as "virtally indestructable". We have been very careful with the pan. We don't use metal utensils, put it in the dishwasher, or use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers. The non-stick coating is pitting, flaking and coming off after only eight months.

The company told me that we could send it back (at our expense) and someone at the company would examine the pan and decide if they would repair the pan, give us a replacement or return the pan as is.

We are planning to return the pan, but we aren't too hopeful.

Having recently read quite a few reviews of other companies' non-stick cookware, it seems that this is a common problem. Caveat emptor!

THEN, NO RESPONSE!I even sent an email to the person who originally contacted me...NO REPLY!

This cookware is VERY EXPENSIVE!I do NOT recommend it because NO ONE FROM THE COMPANY answered my questions regarding whether it was SAFE TO USE IN REGARD TO WEAR!

I've been bragging to everyone about how lovely this 8.5 qt. stock pot is because clean up is a cinch and the non-stick quality is superior. Recently, after cleaning the pan I noticed a scratch that revealed the silver-colored metal underneath the non-stick surface as well as several other aggravated areas on the rim. I couldn't imagine how that happened. After examining its glass lid, I noticed the metal band that goes around the circumference of it (and comes in contact with the pot's rim) joins together and creates an unconnected, albeit close, seam. When I touched it, it felt sharp. Ah-hah! This must be what caused the damage. It seemed logical to me. The representative from Swiss Diamond looked at it and claimed it was caused by a metal utensil being banged against the rim. User error. Needless to say I'm disappointed. I don't recall banging a metal utensil against the rim. It seems obvious to me that, as absurd as it may sound in theory, practically speaking, the pan damaged itself. I sure hope the damage doesn't spread. The other thing I've noticed is some of the non-stick surface on the bottom is pilling. I'm bummed out. I feel angry, but I can't fight "city hall". I just hope this isn't the beginning of further degradation of the pan I love so much.

I've been cooking for 50 years and have tried them all. This is the best line of cookware ever. It has all the right features: can be used in the oven, proper balance, excellent conductivity, totally flat bottoms, great non-stick (both inside and outside), the handles stay cool, just the right weight. However, don't believe the claim that you can use metal utensils. They can be scratched if you don't use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils. Treat them with care and they'll be your favorite cookware.

Hamilton Beach 25332 Indoor Grill With Removable G

Hamilton Beach 25332 Indoor Grill With Removable GI bought this grill 2 months ago as a replacement for a very similar (white) Hamilton Beach grill.I thought it was the same one with some cosmetic changes.Loved the previous one, used it for many years 3 times or more a week. This new unit has been a total disaster, and I am already looking for a replacement. The lower grill has much deeper trenches, which I suppose is suppose to allow for better drain-off, but it makes the unit almost impossible to clean (I'm yet to find a cleaning implement that can reach down into the trenches). After only a couple of hand-washings, the no-stick coating began to flake off, and after only two months almost none is left on the bottom grill (don't know if it would fare better in a dishwasher, since we don't have one, but we've been very careful when cleaning it by hand). The actual space available for cooking is much smaller than on the old model, making it very difficult to cook for two.The drainage tray doesn't stay put, and is not shaped properly to catch the run-off from the upper grill when the unit is open, which has led to a lot of mess (you can pull the tray out slightly to fix is problem, but it doesn't help much since it won't stay where you put it).The heat from the grill has also begun to warp the plastic drainage tray. Finally, for reasons that I haven't been able to figure out, after I finish cooking, the grill begins to smell very strongly of char.It stinks up the entire house.Never had that problem with the old one.

i disposed the box after the 3rd time using the grill, the clip that holds the plate in place broke off the very next time i used it. therefore, i have to openboth sides in order to cook. the last one i purchased about 3yrs ago was very sturdy, unlike this one!

I've had this Hamilton Beach item for about 5 months and it is terrible.I had one of these previously that was made about 10 years ago by Hamilton Beachthat I loved and wanted to replace it.This one is very cheaply made. The numbers for the timer on the front have already worn off so I can't read them.Items stick on it, even when sprayed with cooking spray, and the grooves are so deep it is almost impossible to clean. They provide a plastic piece to clean it that I used today and it scraped the non-stick surface right off in several places.I would never buy this again.

I purchased one of these Hamilton Beach #25332 grills from WalMart about 4 years ago. It was used two to three times a month. The non-stick coating on the bottom grill plates is peeling off so time to replace it. Other than the issue with the coating, the unit was still fully functional.

What I like about the product:

1. Removeable grill plates. We had a large Foreman grill with non-removeable plates and rarely used it because it was so difficult to clean.

2. The 15 minute mechanical timer. 15 minutes seems to be the right amount of time for grilling most meats, including burgers, sausages, average-thickness steaks, and chicken. The fact that the timer is mechanical instead of electronic means it is probably more reliable. This timer now has a stay-on mode that my older unit did not have. The product description on the Hamilton Beach web site states that "most foods cook in 10 minutes or less", and that's a fairly accurate statement. Bacon may take longer if you like it crispy.

3. The drip tray sits in a recess in the side of the grill so it can't accidentally be bumped and spill the contents. The drip tray on this particular model is too small for some kinds of meat, like 70/30 hamburger, or bacon, that produce a lot of grease. Be prepared to empty the drip tray at least once while cooking very fatty meats.

4. The wattage of the heating elements (600 watts each for top and bottom plates, 1200 total) is about right for most meat grilling.

5. Replacement grill plates can be ordered from Hamilton Beach for $14 each. Of course, the whole grill on Amazon is only $35 so it's probably not worth it to replace grill plates in an old grill.

6. The top lid swings 180ยบ and lays flat so if you don't need to cook your food with the lid closed, you can have an open grill with 110 square inches of surface. Cooking bacon this way works pretty good.

What I don't like about the product:

1. I wish it was a little larger. For example, it will cook up to three Johnsonville Brats split in half and laid flat, or three medium size burger patties. The actual cooking area, from the Hamilton Beach web site, is only 55 square inches (110 with the lid open and using it as an open grill). If you are cooking for four or more people, it is too small; you will have to cook in batches. There are larger grills available from other manufacturers (George Foreman and Cuisinart, among others), but I have not found one of these larger models with removable grill plates.

2. The non-stick coating failed after less than 200 uses. I have several saucepans and frying pans with PTFE coating that are at least 15 years old, and the coating is worn but not peeling. So I know it's possible to coat aluminum with PTFE that lasts a long time.

CONCLUSION: If this was a perfect world, Hamilton Beach would sell a larger version of this product with removable grill plates measuring at least 144 square inches, like the big Foreman grill, and with premium quality PTFE coating on the grill plates that would last several years. For the $35 Amazon price, this is a very nice grill with lots of nifty features, if you can live with the relatively small grill plates. For a household of only one or two people, it's perfect, but if you have a bunch of hungry kids to feed, you might want to look for a larger grill like the Foreman 144 square inch model.I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the short lifespan of the non-stick coating on my grill (maybe newer ones are better?). Overall value for the $35 price is excellent, so I recommend this product if the relatively small grill plate size is acceptable to you.

So I bought this to replace my 6+year old George Foreman, which I was tired of cleaning and which always leaked grease everywhere. When I first opened the box, I was impressed. It just "looks" better than my Foreman. However, I was extremely disappointed in the small size of the drip tray, and in how it slides into the side. Can we say "accident waiting to happen?"It doesn't seat very well, and that's without any liquid even in it.I have already accidentally knocked the drip tray twice in arranging the unit on my counter.I guess time will tell when I actually use it.The plates snap out of the unit so that you can wash them in the washing machine. The metal snap that holds each plate is rather small and doesn't look like it will convincingly hold up for years.Again, I guess time will tell!In any case, it LOOKS fantastic on my counter, and I hope that the non-stick coating stays on!
