Tramontina Gourmet Prima Fry Pan with Tri-Ply Base Size: 10'Great pan!Love it, I had a bit of a learning curve as I was used to cooking with non stick.

Tramontina is new to me.Certain pieces (not all) are recommended by America's Test Kitchen. That said, this pan is $15 cheaper at Walmart.

Emeril Stainless Steel Fry Pans

Emeril Stainless Steel with Copper Dishwasher Safe 8-Inch Fry Pan, SilverI bought this 8 inch Emeril Stainless fry pan because it was a few dollars cheaper than the 8 inch Emeril Pro-Clad fry pan.Big difference.First off, the aluminum and copper disk on the bottom of this pan looks cheap and does not distribute heat evenly. But the biggest flaw is that the handle is heavier than the rest of the pan making it very difficult to balance on a gas stove top.I couldn't keep it from falling over no matter how I tried.Who is the design wizard that came up with this pan?I sent it back and bought the Pro-Clad version for a few dollars more. The Pro-Clad has three layers of stainless and aluminum all the way up the sides, so heat distributes evenly and the weight and balance are perfect.Much happier now.Not sure if all the Emeril Stainless Fry Pans are handle heavy, but this 8 inch one is a clunker.Don't waste your time or money on this poorly designed pan.

FWIW, I have only used this Emeril 10 inch stainless steel with copper and aluminum and stainless bottom once! That was tonight. This is NOT the Emeril Pro Clad which I have not been able to find in a single fry pan.Since this pan was on sale today at Macy's for $29.99 and even less with coupon, I decided to give it a try.

Even though I am a 'senior citizen', I have never used a stainless fry pan.I read all the reviews for the different brands and read how many people complained of food sticking, difficult clean up, staining, etc.So, I decided to research exactly how to cook with stainless before ever getting any.

So, bought this today and decided to cook pork chops tonight. The instructions that came with the pan are a little different than what I read about how to cook with stainless on line.I followed the on line directions.I first washed the pan and dried it.Allowed my chops to sit out for about 15 minutes to get closer to room temperature and dried them with paper towel before seasoning them.I then turned my electric glass top stove on to medium and allowed the pan to get hot and then added a small amount of evoo to coat. When that began to shimmer, I added my chops and left them alone for about 6 minutes. After 6minutes I gently tried to raise one chop and it came right up as did the other one.I turned them over and left them alone again for another6-7 minutes.I also added chopped onions just after I turned them over.Well, they came out beautifully!Great caramalized onions, nice juicy chops, terrific gravy from the drippings.

Nothing stuck nor burned.I immediately wiped the pan out and filled with hot water and placed back on the same burner to sit while we ate. After dinner I washed it up and noticed just a few spots on the pan where the meat had sat.I used a tiny amount of barkeepers friend on a sponge and wiped it with hot water and it came perfectly clean. No scrubbing. It is nice and shiny just like it was before I used it.

Now if I can do this, I am sure better cooks and even those like me can use this pan with ease.

Also, the handle remained cool to the touch and the pan sat very level on my stove.

The instructions that came with the pan that I DID NOT USE, said to add oil to a cool pan and then heat over medium heat until oil became hot, then add food. When I researched how to cook with stainless steel, I read that you should add oil only to a hot pan, so that is what I did. It worked well for me, so will continue to use that method.

I will now look for the 12 inch pan with lid.If I become disappointed with this pan, I will definitely post an updated review. But, right now I am thrilled with it.

So far I like this pan. It's my first stainless fry pan and am getting the hang of it.I found that pre-heating is key.I preheat for about 5 minutes on med heat (have an older electric stove) before I try to fry or scramble eggs and they don't stick.Only thing I don't like is I feel the handle is just a hair too heavy. When the pan is empty (preheating) it leans just a tiny bit toward the handle and I would think that would reduce effectiveness/evenness of heating.Other than that one thing, I really like the pan.Handle stays cool and it's easy to clean.

there are several things I like about this pan, it's stainless steel, has a copper core and does the job I bought it for. The one problem is that the pan is very light weight, and the handle is nice and heavy, which means that it's very easy to tip while you're cooking. Still, at it's price, I can't really complain.

I bought this to supplement a 10 piece set and am happy with it.It does discolour but that is just part of what these pans do.Very nice, substantial, everything I was looking for.Now I just have to learn to cook with lower heat settings as this cookware is makes very efficient use of the heat!

Norpro 9.5 inch Nonstick Breakfast/Crepe Pan

Norpro 9.5 inch Nonstick Breakfast/Crepe PanFrom the day this pan is shipped, i have never left using it for making breakfast. It is the best for the pancakes.I just clean it with the wipe or a tissue.Because of the non-stick feature, i do not even put oil on the pan.I would definetly recommend this product. For a price of $9.00, i think it is the best buy for me.

I love crepes and plan on making several types of crepes using different flours. I made a batch a few days ago and they are already gone. The pan is easy to use and easy to clean up also much more reasonable than similar pans!

Buy Norpro 9.5 inch Nonstick Breakfast/Crepe Pan Now

I bought this pan as a "back-up" to my old trusty t-fal crepe pan that I use to make 2 egg omelettes. Sometimes we host brunches and one pan is not enough to keep up with hungry guests. Well, I received the pan, seasoned it with a little oil as suggested, and made my first omelette with it. Let's just say the t-fal has now moved to the back-up position and I may just pick up another Norpro for good measure. The anti-stick is great, the pan is light and heats evenly, ergonomics are good and it is the perfect size for 2-egg omelettes. Cleans up great in the sink and all I can't speak to yet is durability. However, it looks solid and well made, like most other Norpro stuff I own.

Now if you're curious about those omelettes, they're simple. Dice up whatever filler you want: ham, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, greens, whatever, and cheese of course. Saute to your liking in saute pan. Heat the Norpro pan on medium low. Quickly while the pan is heating, fork whisk 2 eggs, some water (for fluffiness), and seasoning to taste (you can also wait to season afterwards). A little olive oil in pan but I use the corner of a paper towel to spread it about and then leave no puddles. Plop the eggs in and cook until almost dry, with a soft or slightly runny skin on the inside. You can carefully work the egg a bit with the edge of your spatula to make sure the runny egg gets to the cooking surface, just make sure it all ends up one cooked piece, with no holes. Add your fillers to one half of the omelette, and then fold the other half over with one of these Kitchenaid Classic Silicone Mixer Spatula, Black. The long, wide, and slippery spatula is perfect to prevent the omelette from breaking when you flip. I like to have a slightly golden brown on my omelettes. Enjoy!

UPDATE: After using this pan about half dozen times, the coating on the BOTTOM of the pan is starting to come off. The non stick seems to be OK and it still cooks fine. I'm starting to get a little suspicious on the durability, so I deducted one star and will update more as time goes on. I stil think it's a bargain at what they are asking but if you want a pan that you'll still be using years later (like my t-fal), this might not be it.

OVEN CLEANER is dangerous. Unbeknownst to me, when I cleaned the oven with oven cleaner, it seeped into the pan drawer below, luckily the crepe pan was the only casualty, it ripped the nonstick right off.The pan was great, slick and the right size when I used it the only and only time. I am buying another to replace the destroyed one, would recommend to all for making crepes.

Bialetti 10-Inch Aeternum Easy Saute Pan, Blue

Bialetti 10-Inch Aeternum Easy Saute Pan, BlueI've been using this regularly for about a month now and I have to say that it's pretty fantastic. It's great looking (I got the blue) and nothing sticks to it.I still give it a quick spritz of non-stick spray but that's more habit than necessity. It really is a great value and a well made, durable product.

I thought this pan would be perfect for eggs and breakfast stuff. Seemed great for the first couple of months, but then slowly I started noticing little pinhole pits in the ceramic coating. I have been nothing but extremely and overly "delicate" with this. Always washed separately to ensure nothing banged into the ceramic coating. I use nothing but bamboo and silicone utensils to cook so there should be no reason for this pitting. I think I'll stick to classic indestructible stainless steel and cast iron. I'm about done with all these "cookware fads" of disposable cookware.

I have had this pan for well over one year.

**When I need to sear, I use a stainless or cast iron pan.**

It STAYS on my stovetop, almost all of the time (cleaned).

I use it everyday.

I use no more than Medium Heat ever.

I do not overheat while preheating.

I use a VERY light coating of oil, or residual oil from previous cooking.

I wipe it clean with a paper towel when possible (usually).

If needed, I wipe it with a sponge under tap water.

If xtra crusty, I soak before sponging (rare!)

I NEVER use any sort of scrubbing surface.

I only occasionally use soap.

With the above care, this go-to pan looks and cooks as if brand-new.

Bayou Classic 7435 16-Inch Cast Iron Skillet

Bayou Classic 7435 16-Inch Cast Iron SkilletBayou Classicpretty good! I want to start off by saying that I am pretty much a Lodge follower, and most of my cast iron products are from the Lodge company. However, this is a good buy.I wanted a very large pan to make pizzas in, and Lodge has a 17" similar skillet (but without the handle).I was not concerned much whether there was a handle or not, since these pans are so big (covering 2 burners on the stove) that no one in their right mind would be carrying it by the handle alone (no handle would have been better for my home use, but not a deal breaker). Even with outdoor use, the handles aren't really long enough on these large pans to make a huge difference in safety or ease.

I also preferred Lodge due to my comfort-level with their consistently fine products. However, the Lodge 17" inch was nearly double the price of what I purchased this one for, and I had a good experience with the Bayou Classic company previously, having purchased one of their high BTU outdoor burners (for turkey frying and pressure canning). Additionally, reading the Lodge 17" reviews, it seemed that 17" was actually larger than a lot of standard ovens, not allowing an oven door to shut all the way.i tried measuring my oven, but just couldn't get a precise enough measurement due to an inset section on the door itself, so that I wasn't completely sure my oven would be one that worked with a 17 inch pan.Lo and behold, I find this lovely 16" and at half price. It was hard to say no and I took a chance.

Well, when i touch this pan, i can tell Lodge is much smoother to the feelThe Bayou Classic is roughernot as finely castbut for me, it's not paying double the price rougher either.Additionally, and more importantly, it absolutely fits in my oven. i'm pretty sure now that the 17" never would have fit, since the 16" is right up against the oven door (the handle you turn sideways, and there's no problem). The one pizza i've made so far turned out fabulously (if you've never tried cast iron for pizza, you're missing out on a great crustyou can even crisp the crust up more on the stovetop), and I'm very pleased with this purchase.I also have the Lodge 14" inch (flat) pizza pan, but that extra 2 inches helps with bigger portions, and higher siding is the only choice for deep dish pizza, obviously. All in all a good find, and I'm very happy i bought this.

Update: since I've purchased this about two weeks ago, the price on the Lodge 17" went down.Still, I would buy this product againmainly because it fits in my oven!

Docking 1 star for a lack of finishing and there is no seasoning as advertised.

It's a nice clean cast but is missing that final touch. I suggest a nice medium grit sandpaper to smooth it down a bit, especially the edges of the pan, which can be pretty sharp. Afterwards, you will need to wash and season as the included instructions, with a heavy emphasis on the wash. The paraffin coating the skillet is coated with is a nasty color, not telling what may be in it.

Actual dimensions:

Across the skillet round (lip to lip): 16.5 inches

Inside skillet round: approx 14.5"

Handle to handle: 22.75"

Edit: After sanding and seasoning twice through the oven, as per the directions, I have another thing to point out. The bottom of this skillet is domed. The center is higher than the sides quite noticeably. I cooked a whole pound of minced bacon and it did allow the grease to run away from the the pile of bacon. While this may help keep some of the grease out of your food, it doesn't help with the seasoning process, as the "high & dry" foods will tend to stick at first. Not sure if this is a feature or defect, but I'm going to keep using it and see how it turns out.

I bought this cast iron skillet after I used my friend's for cooking Paella. Remember to season the skillet before using it, it pays to do it. I roasted bell peppers on this skillet and the smell and flavor were unbelievable. Great size for paella and large cooking.. originally I wanted a bigger one, but once I got this 16-inch, the size is perfect

Enjoy

Berndes Milestone 11-Inch Square Grill Pan

Berndes Milestone 11-Inch Square Grill PanI searched for years for a grill pan that would function as a stove top broiler, leaving grill marks on meat and fish. They were available for all range tops, but mine, which has a smooth glass top. I needed an absolutely flat bottomed grill pan.The Berndes Milestone is exactly as I would have designed a pan for my needs. It has the broiler-like ribs in the interior, but a flat bottom for the stove top. The pan is no lightweight, coming in at 4.5 lbs on my digital scale. Even though it has a non-stick interior, I think it cleans up best if a light brushing of oil is applied before grilling. I've pan broiled everything from filet mignon, salmon, hot dogs, to Jaccard meat tenderized chuck strips and everything has cooked exactly as I desired.

I have several Berndes pans that function wonderfully. However, the Berndes grill pan is not one of them. The problem is you cannot get an aluminum pan hot enough to produce good sear marks.Try as I might I can only produce barely visible grill marks on a variety of foods with the Berndes grill pan.In contrast, my cast iron LeCreuset grill pan produces beautiful dark sear marks every time on the same burner on my stovetop.Additionally, the handle on my Berndes grill pan came loose after every use.The pan is not well made nor does it function well. Save your money and buy a cast iron grill pan.

This pan arrived with a defect and I contacted customer support (unfortunately, I did not use the pan within the Amazon return period).

After several unanswered emails to the customer service email address at the Berndes site, I contacted them by phone and they said they would send a part that I was to use to repair the pan.Bad enough that it wasn't immediately replaced, but I never received the part.

Most people expect higher-end cookware with a "lifetime guarantee" to have decent customer service, or some semblance thereof, but none exists here.

My first and last Berndes purchase was a complete waste of time and money.

T-fal E9389764 Professional Nonstick Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe 10-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware with Glass Lid, BlackThis is my second T-Fal purchase; it is very hard to sift through all the different models of pans even within the T-Fal offerings, this Professional series is the one.The bottom has good weight and the high sides make it easier to load the pan with a families' worth of ingredients. The glass cover is very sturdy and much nicer than a metal lid.Overall this is the pan, I would like to find this same configuration in an 8 in size. Ordered through Amazon, came from a different vendor but without issues or delay.

This is a great pan. I cook with it every day. From eggs to sauce to stir-fry, etc and it stays non-stick and wicked easy to clean. In many cases a rinse and a paper towel is all it takes. The 12" is too big though. I shoulda bought the 10" pan instead. Size matters. ;)

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetI ordered this set using my frequent flyer miles. It is the nicest cookware set I've ever owned! My previous sets were non-stick, so it did take a little getting used to cooking with stainless steel (hot pan, cold oil; food won't stick). I've only been using it for about a month but they seem very durable. They are also very stylish! I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

These are made by Meyer Corp, who also makes Circulon, Faberware, KitchenAid, Silverstone and Bonjour products. All their brands are great. I you can get these pans for less than $300 than this is one of the best buys out there for Stainless steel cookware. Consumer reports rates this set very well. It retails for $399.99, which is much to high to pay, but amazon has them at a good $300. This set is tri-ply which means that it has 3 layers of metal. The center metal is aluminum which conducts heat better than other metals. They heat fast and uniformly, which makes it nice to cook anything on/in these. My set came with some minor cosmetic damage, whether due to shipping or manufacturing, but will not effect the performance of the cookware. These tend to be fingerprint magnets as well. Overall they are a great value for what you are getting. I would also recommend one good non-stick skillet for more delicate foods and when you don't want to cook with oils.

They clean up well and unlike the reviewer who said his stained easily they have not had any issues retaining color from anything cooked in them, or changing color. The handles are very sturdy and i can see these lasting a very long time under standard use. The handles are coated in s silicon rubber that stays cool/warm to the touch. They should be somewhat safer to use with utensils than their non-stick counterparts, but I've already put scratches in one of the sauce pans. On top of it all they are oven safe up to 400F in the oven and dishwasher safe as well. I will still clean mine by hand and use wooden or plastic utensils, just because I'm like that. The overall look is nice and they shine when clean and fingerprint free. I use mine on a gas range, but they say these work well on glass and induction based cooking tops as well. I really wanted to get an All-Clad set, but the price just ins;t justified for their product. This Anolon set has surpassed my expectations and I think that you'll enjoy cooking with it as much if not more than I do.

*I'll update my review with more as I continue to use this cookware.

The cookware set was bought for use on an induction cooktop. It meets all expectations and cleans easily.I would like to be able to find other sized pieces to add to my set.

I used to have three pans of All-Clad, and hoped, over time, to get more. I got a portable induction burner, which changed my cooking life, and needed appropriate pans. I got an inexpensive set at WalMart and though they weren't bad, I missed my wonderful cookware.I first bought the 1-qt saucepan and fell in love with it. I now have 3 more of this type. They are sturdy, quality pans, which also look great.

I don't like nonstick pans because one eventually ends up eating the finish, though I will get a frying pan eventually for the occasional fried egg. But, I don't really have trouble cleaning these pans. At worst, I will soak one for an hour or so, and then it cleans up easily. Usually, by the time I am done cleaning the other dishes, and if I have soaked the dirty pan while I am doing it, it cleans readily.I couldn't be happier.

Calphalon Tri-Ply 12-Inch Stainless Steel Everyday Pan with Cover

Calphalon Tri-Ply 12-Inch Stainless Steel Everyday Pan with CoverThis pan is somewhat bigger than I expected. The side walls spread out from the base a little more than it seems to look in the picture, but it's a fantastic pan. It's heavy and the base fits perfectly on the largest element of my electric stove. Looks great and fits in with the rest of the Tri-Ply line. The clear lid is great for watching the status of what's cooking without interrupting it. It's large enough to brown at least 3 pounds of ground beef with plenty of room to spare, so capacity should not be a concern at all. You could probably fry 4 medium size chicken breasts or maybe 5 pork chops at once without crowding the pan. I just got this pan, but I expect to use it quite a bit.

Great multi-purpose pan.I switched from Caphalon non-stick cookware to Caphalon's stainless steel after the non-stick surface became worn (which is really unsafe given the chemicals used for the non-stick coating).Anyways, it's a little bit of an adjustment going from non-stick to stainless steel. When you use non-stick, one becomes used to not having to use much oil and still not having a problem with food sticking to your cookware. With stainless steel, I think the trick is to pre-heat your stainless steel pan, cook at a little bit lower setting, and you'll figure out it's just as good as non-stick.My everyday Caphalon works great after I figured out how to use it...cleans easy too. After cooking, I just pour a little water in the pan and let it soak for 30 mins and anything stuck on the pan just comes right off.I also use Bar Keeper's friend cleanser and this stuff cleans it perfectly.

It is the one. It is the most amazing, most gorgeous pan i have ever encountered. It is build very solid, i never felt it was flimsy or breakable. It is nice and large but not so large that it heats unevenly on the burners. It is OVEN SAFEsear the steak, pop in oven, voila you made an awesome steak on a stove top! The ban is not non stick but if you work at the proper heat for the food, heat up the pan, then add your oil/butter and HEAT IT UP TOOthe ban is virtually non stick. I can make MOST items in this pan but there are a few items i do prefer to make in a nonstick panlike fry potatoes. For some reason i can not fry potatoes in this, they stick , i ssuspect because the oil gets starchy and in that case a non stick surface is needed.

Bar Keepers friend will keep this pan looking 100% new . It is dishwasher safebut dish washing detergents will make it dull but cleanso i usually clean in dishwasher then follow up with barkeepers friendvoila new pan!.

FYI: I read on another site that you should grease it with a thin coating of oil, in case anyone also read thatPLEASE NEVER DO THIS. Stainless steel is NOT cast iron. It will be gross .

I use this pan several times a week to stir-fry vegetables.I don't have any complaints. You won't get much better than this unless you're willing to spend much much more (such as buying a copper-clad or all copper version), but this pan performs well enough on both gas and electric ranges, I don't think you'd feel a need to.

Just be aware that if you're buying this to add on to an existing set of Calphalon products, it may look slightly different than your other pans (not really a big deal), as Calphalon has a had a few different Tri-Ply variations over the years.

Fagor 9-1/2-Inch Cast Aluminum Skillet

Fagor 9-1/2-Inch Cast Aluminum SkilletAlough it is the first time I choose Fagor cookware, the product quality is really nice. As I know this kind of non-sticky skillet is usually easy to break the coating. That's why I kept my review until now. In a words, this piece is much more sturdy than I expected even after being used for more than 5 months. I did used the skillet about one times a day. Every time, it works fine, never stick food. The design is pretty good that the even the some of the oil and water out of the pan, it hardly flows to the bottom. Much lighter than those expensive German cookware. But, it is a fact that you need to take much care when cooking and cleaning to keep the coating on. I never use steel cooking tools. And always clean it with a soft 3M sponge. Even by using wooden cooking tools, somehow is not safe. So, the bottom line is if you use it carefully, it is a really nice piece in the kitchen. The only thing that I can not make sure is whether it is made in China. There is nothing on the skillet shows the information. But, anyway, I mean it is a good one, who cares if it is really produced in Spain!

Ecolution Elements Eco-Friendly Fry Pans

Ecolution Elements Eco-Friendly 11 Inch Fry Pan, GreyI am not pleased with the results I have had with this pan. The non-stick aspect is fine, but that's about it. The pan is very thin, so food burns easily in it. The paint on the bottom of the pan is flaking off & sticks to my smooth top stove. After every use I have to scrape green paint off my stove with a razor blade. I wish I would have spent a little more & gotten a better quality pan. Don't waste your money.

First, the paint started flaking off and stuck to the burner even though burner heat was never higher than 5 on a dial that goes up to 12.Next the interior coating started to chip off even though only nonstick pan utensils were used.

Result pan is useless.

it is a little cheaper in price, but also chipped and higher heat burns things more than other nonstick green pan we owned

My wife bought the 11 inch Elements fry pan and 8 quart pot about 2 years ago, maybe more. The pan is starting to show its age after roughly 2 years of nearly everyday use. It has developed scratches in the non-stick coating over time, but they are not severe and it has retained its non-stick properties and is a breeze to clean. The pot is still in excellent condition. Yes, some of the paint has worn away from the bottom of both the pan and the pot, but we have not had any problem with the paint sticking to the burners. Use wood, silicone or plastic utensils and wash gently with a sponge and you should get a lot of use out of them.

I bought the 8" in a grocery store. After making sure it was seasoned, it's been an excellent little pan.The bottom of the grey pan is not colored and doesn't scorch or peel; it's aluminum or steel--shiny bare metal, in any case.Gets very hot on medium heat (using gas stove) so unless there's a lot of liquid in the pan, food will burn, so it needs constant attention.Bacon fries *very* fast. One minute it's half cooked, the next minute, it's done.Burned bacon yesterday--oops.But the pan held up extremely well.Burned bacon and bacon fat would stick to high heaven in orther pans but not in this one.And easy swipe with low soap and it's clean. The edges along the top get dirty and it will require a brillo or scrubber pad to get shiny again. (I personally haven't bothered much; I'm concerned with food sticking only)

I'd buy this pan again and intend to buy a larger size.Hopefully, that one will work just as well. :)

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 10-Inch Skillet, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 10-Inch Skillet, OrangeWonderful product!!!!!Have used our full set for years and years and they are still in perfect condition!

Pros: best pots and pans for the price we've found

Cons: none

After buying the full set of Rachael Ray cookware and using it for years, I've given out 3 other sets as birthday and Christmas gifts to friends and family.

I've only used it a few times but, so far, I really like this skillet. It's smaller than I thought it would be.The 10" is from the top rim and not the base of the skillet.I hope the surface lasts without scratching easily.Time will tell.I'm going to go ahead and order the 12", though.

I am not happy with this fry pan. I haven't had it a year yet and the teflon finish is already deteriorating.

Fine in the beginning but did not last.

Proctor Silex Aluminum Nonstick Softhandle Skillets

Proctor Silex 52503 Aluminum Nonstick Softhandle 12 Inch Skillet, BlackThis is absolutely a great item for making eggs or omlets. I have mine over a year now, and it looks like it's in the same condition it was in when I bought it. I have the 8-inch model which is the perfect size for eggs and omlets.

Even though it says "Non-Stick," I always spray Pam, or another cooking spray before I cook.

This item is a must-have for any kitchen.

This is a great pan. I got it a a lower price and was well worth the money. I love the rubber grip handle, the ease of cleaning the pan. I liked the bottom surface, it seemed to cook food evenly. Ive only had the pan for a month, it doesnt seem to be a a heavy duty pan. So I wonder how long it ill last. Will post again if it doesnt hold up.
