Cuisinart 655-35 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 13-Inch by 20-Inch Double Burner Griddle
After three days of ligth use, following the instructions given, it distort!!! Don?t buy this thing!!!!I was looking for a big griddle I could more than one pancake (or crepe) at a time. This fit the bill. I have other Cuisinart pots and pans which are awesome, and so I figured this would be pretty good.Given that the negative reviews were both very old and kind of inarticulate, I did not worry about them.I briefly looked at the "green" one offered by Cuisinart, but the negative reviews on that one were pretty clear, plus that one was smaller than this one.
I have a ceramic-top range (a Kenmore something-or-other), and this thing fits perfectly over a front and rear burner.I've cooked a bunch of crepes using this griddle, and it works great, even on the flat top range; it doesn't matter that the bottom of the pan doesn't rest directly on the burner, it's actually a plus because the heat has a chance to get transferred to the entire bottom of the pan.
I haven't noticed any warping.I will definitely buy another one of these when I wear this one out.I was looking for a griddle for a large stovetop and this was the largest I could find.
It worked well for the first use but after only three uses the griddle warped and now will not sit flat on my stovetop.
For the price I paid for this, it should not have warped.

This is really a great product.Cast Iron, if cared for, is just about the best cookware you can buy. While my title says "indoor grilling", I guess you really are frying in a pan, on the stove. So sorry if that's misleading. If you use the pan right, however, you'll get great grill marks on your food.
How to use:
Drizzle a good olive oil, or canola, back and forth across the pan.Take a piece of paper towel and rub the oil all over, making sure the ridges and grooves, and sides of the pan are coated.
Heat the pan on the stove over medium to medium high heat.I don't recommend using on Electric because you cannot get the quick temperature changes you need. And certainly not for a glass or induction type range top.
While it's heating, lift the pan and swirl the oil around, keeping the pan bottom coated. When the oil just begins to smoke a little, the pan is ready. Cut the heat down a bit and put in your meat.
If you don't FILL the pan, you can leave an area empty. that area will stay hot, so when you flip your meat around, that part will still be hot enough to leave marks...
I find I can cook 2 strip steaks, or three hamburgers or pork chops in this pan at a time and get great results.
Cleaning:
Could not be easier. After the pan cools, gently scrape any large bits of residue out of the pan with a spatula or fork.Fill half way with water, and return to the stove top.Turn up the heat and boil.
Don't let it boil dry, just boil for about 5 minutes. When that's done, let it cool a bit so you can safely dump the water out. Then, take a sponge one with a 'safe for teflon' scrub pad works (the ones I buy are blue) with a little dish soap, and go over the inside of the pan.Rinse, dry over heat, and put it away.
You don't want to scour the pan.The oils bake INTO the surface of the iron, making a 'non stick' surface of their own.
If you see RUST, scrub the pan with the scrub sponge, then coat with canola oil, rub all over with paper towel you want a coating, not pools of oil and put into an oven.Heat oven to 300 and bake on for an hour or so.This is a great grill pan!! I love using this pan when I want a steak or chop, when outside grilling is impossible. Since it's already seasoned, it not only gives great grill marks, but great flavor. Another great buy that's worth the price. This is a nice pan. It's very heavy and the ridges are just right.I wish they also had one a little larger. This one is OK for two or three people since fits three boneless pork loin chops or two good sized strip steaks. You can get eight lamb rib chops (rack) in it, but they're a bit crowded.

ConsI would not throw in Dishwasher, the backing is the type of backing from this company that has that grayish film that comes off if you throw it in the dishwasher time after time..

Well, if I didn't have to make this 20 words, I'd just say I LOVE IT! Non-toxic, easy to clean, even heat, retains heat, non-stick, pretty, lid is heavy weight with steam vent, what else can one ask? Can't think of one "con". I've had it for about 2 months, and have used it almost daily since.I absolutely love this pan!!It heats up quickly with lower heat than a normal frying pan.Nothing sticks to it and it cleans up easily with a paper towel. There is no more mess to go down the drain and clog your sink just throw the paper towel away and wash it.I have even cooked bacon in the pan and it came out very crispy.Even cheese doesn't stick to it.It is amazing and I have been cooking for over 35 years.Want Vinaroz Die Cast Aluminum with Ceramic Coating 28-Cm Fry Pan with Lid and Vent Discount?
I purchased this pan because it was large, heavy, and had a ceramic coating. The glass cover is well made and has an easy to grip knob. The fit and finish are excellent. The skillet handle is large and sturdy. In addition; it is deeper than the average skillet which in my case is definite plus. Clean up is easy and this skillet heats evenly. It is not quite as "stick free" as a teflon pan but the difference is minor. The ceramic coating should last indefinitely. After using this pan, I would never purchase another teflon pan.All Clad Stainless Steel 5-Quart Paella Pan
Le Cuistot Enameled Cast-Iron Skillet 8 1/4 Inch - Fashion Green
Simply Calphalon Nonstick 12-Inch Omelette Pan
a. Was not over-the-top expensive, since all nonstick skillets do need replacing every so often.
b. Was durable and sturdy enough to last for several years with good care.
c. Distributed heat evenly.
d. Was oven-safe to -get this -450 degrees.
e. Was a true skillet with respect to the height and slope of the sides.
f. Had a cover.
It took me days to do the research to find a pan with all these qualities. This one was it -minus the cover. A bit of shopping around unearthed a 12" Calphalon lid designed for pretty much every Calphalon model EXCEPT this one. I bought one at Macy's and brought it home to try it on for size. It's not perfect, but for my use it's just fine.
You've got to try those ATK pasta dishes -and pretty much all the other recipes in their skillet book. They're wonderful.
(PS: For the other skillet, go with the All-Clad stainless with cover -I've seen some incredible sales on it at )I bought my Simply Calphalon 12" non-stick omelette pan about 4 years ago. At the same time, I had just purchased the same sized non-stick frying pan from All-Clad (along with a 10" All Clad non-stick pan). I use my 12" non-stick pans easily 4 times a week. Over the years, it's been interesting to see how the Calphalon pan has out-performed my All-Clad! So much so, that I am now buying the 2-pan special (10" and 12" non-stick) from Calphalon today. My old 12" Calphalon has NOT worn out, but hey, I need two of these going at once on many occasions especially when I've got company, and do scrambled eggs in one, sausages in the other. During the same time period that I have used both my Calphalon and All-Clad 12" non-stick pans, I have noticed two key advantages in the former over the latter: 1.) the Calphalon has simply NOT worn out not one bit! This is the "Simply Calphalon" with only 2 coats of non-stick inside (vs the 3-coated Contemporary Calphalon non-sticks), and 2.) the size and weight of the Calphalon is better than my All-Clad. The inside bottom of the Calphalon is much bigger and flatter, enabling me to easily grill two cheese sandwiches side-by-side not so for my All-Clad. Finally, the weight and heft of the Calphalon is simply lighter and more ergonometric. With all these advantages to the Calphalon, I was convinced to invest in their next-level up omelette pan set: the Contemporary. I look forward to many years' worth of use from them, too. And as for my All-Clad 12" and 10" pans, I'm donating them to the local thrift store. I tried to contact All-Clad about the worn-out non-stick coating in my 12" pan, but they couldn't be bothered to answer my email. In short, their "lifetime" warranty is worthless, cuz you can't even get a response from them unless you take the time and money to mail them the pan first, then wait for an answer as to whether the wear and tear is what they consider covered by warranty.

The pan seems decently made, with a good non-stick coating and nice handle. However, with a glass cook top (smooth top), we are restricted to pans with truly flat bottoms, otherwise the pan will rock slightly and doesn't make good contact with the cook surface. Unfortunately this doesn't fit the bill.Read Best Reviews of Simply Calphalon Nonstick 12-Inch Omelette Pan Here
I also got this pan based on a recommendation from America's Test Kitchen and have not been disappointed. It is billed as an omelette pan and I treat it as such when it comes to the utensils I use with it. No sharp metal objects and of course I wouldn't think of putting it in the dishwasher. That's a no brainer. There aren't many things you can consistently put in a dishwasher and not expect the intense heat and detergent to take its toll on the surface. However I did do some things I wouldn't ordinarily do with an egg pan. The first night I used this pan I fried a bunch of plantains (platanos) with a brown sugar based sauce to finish. This was after reading the reviews here on this page. I figured if this pan is really not worth it's salt this will be the test to prove it. The pan not only performed admirably and washed clean but my wife also used the pan for French toast without the slightest problem. This was not a fluke, this action has been repeated with the same results. And true to America's Test Kitchen's report the handle does stay cool and it is evident that it is built to last. I don't expect this pan to last forever but I do look forward to getting a lot of good use out of it.

Having used this pan nearly every day for the last 4 years, I've actually worn it out to the point that it's "semi-nonstick."The sloped sides and depth of the pan lend it perfectly to many cooking uses, from cooking eggs to sauteeing or frying. Of course, I've always handwashed it and used non-metal utensils so the surface is not scratched, just worn out. My only complaint is that the handle transfers enough heat that use of a potholder is required. Because it's literally the mainstay of my cookware, I'm ordering a replacement that will hopefully last another 4 years.
Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Saute with Helper and Cover
One big beef I have is that the bottom is NOT flat and it wobbles on my glass top range. I have no doubt that this effects the even-ness of the cooking. We are planning a move and I am switching to a gas range otherwise I would have returned it and tried another one. (not a different brand)
I am an advid, experienced cook making most foods from scratch and I would recommend this product just be aware of some of it's limitations.
I do highly recommend the Multiclad Pro line it is a great product at a great price especially when compared to other "professional" quality cookware.I think this cookware is a really great alternative to All Clad Stainless. I have three pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad and they are all comparable to the All Clad in terms of performance. Careful you have to take care of these pans. Don't put salt in them unless there is boiling liquid or the pans will pit and I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dishwasher. Another comparable line is the Calphalon Tri-Ply.

Overall 23" (handle to handle).Pan 12.5" x 3.25"5.5 quarts. The size and depth is perfect for stove top or oven casseroles/stir-fry to feed a large family or for plenty of leftovers. Plenty of pan room to fry up to four hot sandwiches/French bread, 6 to 8 or more burgers, pancakes, fry an entire chicken with room to spare, etc.
The long handle is nice and the helper handle is a big help to maneuver a large fully loaded pan. Measure your oven to make sure this long handled pan will fit in your oven if you need it to.
This needs a 13 inch splatter screen. Many styles of screens, some with four 'feet' formed in the rim, and a style with tri-feet extension of the handle under the screen.
A splatter guard is nice, too.(three sided 'wall') Norpro-2063-Nonstick-Splatter-Guard. I use one like this all the time. My stove top is built in with a sit down bar behind it. Keeps the grease spatters off the bar.

As an addition to our newly renovated kitchen we purchased a set of Cusinart Multiclad Pro Stainless. The addition of the 5 1/2 quart saute pan has already been put to the test with the sauteing of five pounds of onions. The large surface area and the heavy bottom produced an excellent result with even cooking and no burning. We could have spent much more but I doubt we would have achieved any better result. The rest of the set also performs well.

I must say that i am thoroughly pleased with this saute pan great heat transfer and it is easily cleaned. Even if you leave it till the next morning, a short soak in water will release all of the remains on the surface. Good fond development, deglazes easily, making sauces is a snap. looking to get the 3qt version someday for samller tasks. After spending thousands of dollars over the years on calphalon products, I am now a cuisinart man. Too bad everyone except all-clad manufactures in china. really a shame. if you dont have the scarole for all-clad, this is a very good buy.
Silit Passion 11-Inch Fry-and-Serve Pan, Energy Red
The finish and cooking surface are the very definition of German craftsmanship and just a little seasoning goes a long way like the 1st reviewer says it's not "non-stick" and we're happy for that since ALL the non-stick pans are **very** toxic and not a healthy choice -
this is a kind of baked ceramic finish and just the best to cook with and healthy to boot.A piece of cookware that will last for **years** no problem. In the first Indiana Jones film, Marian whacks a bad guy on the head with a frying pan and he goes down hard (I think he died)...meet that frying pan. Its painted like a sexy Lamborghini and is NOT light. The ceramic coating is NOT Teflon and won't flake off when you decide to boil water in it. I've fried eggs with a little butter (this isn't really non-stick), fried fish sticks, and made Chinese noodles ...all with no problems...and cleaned up the pan with water and a sponge.
The only thing that stuck a little (left a "ghost print" which eventually scrubbed off) were Chinese steamed dumplings. I've got this and the 9.5 inch frying pan and am contemplating the 8 inch model. I live in Germany, so the price isn't so insane! Keep your eyes peeled for Silit Silargan cookware like this...I can't imagine you'll be disappointed!
Casabella Silicone Lid and Splatter Guard
Deni Oval Stainless Steel Skillet, 15 by 10-Inch
The handle is connected to two 'through the top of the lid' pins that are apparently supposed to be pressure fit by applying pressure to the pins so that they expand trapping the pins in the handle. This pressure either wasn't applied at all or was applied improperly for the handle easily detached.According to the Amazon web site a replacement would take several weeks so I decided to send it back for a refund.
I have been using a square electric skillet with a vent in the dome. The glass lid is an improvement so I can check on the intensity of the sauce boiling. The corners always were a mixture of advantage (push chicken breasts or drumstick into it) or frustration (pancake batter spread into it making them hard to flip). The oval lets me cook different foods at each end and move items move easily. The skillet is noticeably heavier and heats very quickly. The only thing better on my old skillet is the cooking list alongside the temps.

I do not like this skillet.Would send it back if I had not used it but needed to use it to know it is worthless. It is very pretty and promises much by it's looks. However, the temp control will not keep itwhere it is set and everything sticks so badly, even with oil that to clean it it gets scratched.I had a wonderful, old electric skillet of my mother's but it wore out and I wanted a stainless steel one like hers, but there does not seem to be very good stainless steel skillets any more.If anyone knows a good product, let me know, maybe I will donate this somewhere and get another.

Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle with Removable Handles
I am please to report that I am happy with my choice. The large 22" cooking surface has excellent nonstick properties; I prefer it over my previous Presto griddle which didn't have the same texture.I made an egg (with no oil) and the non-stick was so good that the edges of the egg actually curled up and away from the surface on their own.No sticking whatsoever.
I was a bit worried that the handles might be loose, making the griddle wiggly, but I'm happy to report that is not the case.In fact, I can't tell that they are removable handles at all when moving the griddle around. It's very solid, with nice little rubber grippies on the bottom of the legs something my previous Presto did not have. And the handles are very simple to remove. Each of the four legs has a tight spring latch that secures the handles in place. You can easily remove the handles in seconds and store the cooking surface in the same cupboard as your pizza pans!
The shape of the cooking surface is also more convenient to clean than my last Presto. This one is flat, with an opening in the rim where the grease tray resides. You can wipe the surface straight off the edge of the griddle into the grease tray or a sink/garbage.My previous Presto just had a small hole that grease was supposed to drain through, and you had to wipe any larger pieces up and over the rim. Also, the grease tray on this model has two small catches that prevent it from sliding open too easily. My last Presto had no such mechanism, and the tray actually slid out while I was in the process of moving it and broke when it hit the floor.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.I'm sure there are other great griddle options out there with more bells and whistles, but this one does the job and is both affordable and convenient.
Over-all, I love this griddle for the price.
As with most listings, dimension info is weak and vague.Just in case this helps, the overall width with the legs is 24 inches but here are the actual griddle cooking area: 21.5 inches wide and 11.25 inches deep.Still, a very nice size that I can easily fit eight 4" pancakes on.
I was hesitant about the textured non-stick surface but found that it performed EXCELLENT >I even tried eggs with no oil or butter and it actually worked, although I still prefer a small amount just for a better texture and flavor. For most applications (eggs/pancakes) I use a light coating of "Spam."
The cooking surface does have some "hot" spots that I think is typical of nearly any unit in this class and price range, but my pancakes still cooked nicely.
The removable legs are designed beautifully and perform well (mount easily and snug). The surface is nearly perfectly flat but with thin batter, I can see a slight sage inward and toward the drip pan, by-design??The unit has a very solid feel on the countertop, very flat and with rubber pads on the feet.
The design of the drip area and cup is another great feature, the cup removes easily yet won't slide out on it's own without a slight lift before pulling out.

This griddle is more than I imagined. I used it for a weekend trip to the country with some friends; I needed to make a lot of pancakes all at once. This griddle reminds me of the times when my mother used to make pancakes but now I'm a step above. This thing has a very low profile yet a large surface area. I was able to grill five (5) large pancakes all at once with the bottom two slightly offset from the top three. I didn't use any butter or oil at all, the non-stick surface looks a bit strange but it worked amazingly well and helped add a slight health factor to something so unhealthy.
We also cooked scrambled eggs and bacon on this thing and it was great too. The scrambled eggs were slightly challenging on the non-stick surface and I would suggest letting them sit on the griddle surface slightly longer than a pan; this will help lifting them off when mixing the scrambled eggs.
Just a suggestion, there are some nay say'ers who complain about uneven heating on the griddle surface. I found that there are one or two slightly cooler spots but nothing to cause much of a problem; the temperature difference didn't mess up my pancakes!
I would highly suggest this to anyone looking for a griddle. Assembly and cleaning was easy too.
P.S.
I live overseas in a 220V country and I had to use a power converter to step down the voltage. The device is rated at 12.5 amps at 120V or 1500 Watts.

I like this griddle:It is big and nicely designed for cleanup and storage.I like the fact that the handles easily come off for storage and cleaning. It takes up minimal storage in my bottom cabinet-probably no more than a full-size cookie sheet. It is no-stick so when it was cool I easily washed it at the kitchen sink with just a paper towel and warm soapy water. As far as cooking, it seems to do a good job. There are some hot spots over the heating elements but I think that is to be expected with such a large cooking area.Just keep a close eye on the food and if something is cooking too quickly or too slowly move it to another area of the grill as needed.I've had it about a month and so far I've only cooked bacon, grilled cheese and Reuben sandwiches on it.Personally, I think the bacon tastes better than if it were baked and was much easier and faster to cook than using a skillet.I also like that the cooking area is big enough that I can cook all the sandwiches for a family of 4 at the same time so everybody get served a hot sandwich all together. In fact, it is large enough that I could cook 12 sandwiches at once!
Calphalon One Infused Anodized 3-Quart Sauté Pan with Lid
Fast searing, slow simmering--no better pan in the world for convenient one-pot cooking--asian style, sort of. Calphalon anodized aluminum is almost intelligent--the best cookware material. And I have used them all, full copper, stainless-clad copper and aluminum, and iron. My old 3-quart saute pan is so precious to me, I'm buying a new one, just to have in my kitchen.I've had this same kind of pan for years and used it every day sometimes more than once a day and loved it.It cooked beautifully and never, ever stuck. But it finally just wore out.I checked the number on the bottom of the pan and ordered a new one with the exact same number. It's terrible! The new one doesn't even cook bacon without sticking. This is NOT the same pan as Calphalon made before.

This is a top notch sauté pan.My wife and I cook a lot and this pan delivers consistent, reliable results. Here are some details:Pros:
* Hard infused anodized coating will not flake off like Teflon.
* Very easy to clean with soapy water.Note not dishwasher safe
* Very good thermal conductivity produces professional results compared to other pans we have owned / used.
* Non stick as you'd expect makes cooking a breeze.
Cons:
* Few pans cook well with an electric cooktop. This pan is an exception as it does cook well using an electric flat-top surface. We have found however that over time, the pan bottom will slightly convex itself due to the extreme heat. Not a huge deal but I prefer the pan bottom to always lie flat.
* Over time, our pan tended to scorch. We have not seen this with other Calphalon products using similar nonstick technology.
* Cleaning with a scour pad worked well but led to pitting on the surface.
In general, I give this pan 3 stars because it does a marvelous job cooking but simply does not hold up to strenuous every day cooking.I'd expect better performance with a gas cooktop.

UPDATE:I noticed that the price on this pan has risen substantially. I gave this a 5 star review based on the price I purchased it at (below $70). As good as it is, I would not pay over $140. A quality stainless steel pan works just as effectively as this, and can be had for much cheaper.
After trying many of the cheap saute pan options, I forked up for this one and have not been disappointed. Responding to the one negative comment: no it's not perfectly flat on the bottom but I have a glass cooktop, and no pan that I've used is perfectly flat. A slight unevenness may be noticeable, but it doesn't affect cooking for me. Because this pan is nice and heavy (not cast-iron heavy though), it distributes heat evenly. And if it works on a flat glass cooktop, it will work anywhere. Food browns nicely, and the surface deglazes very well. I use this pan at least 5 days a week, and take care of it according to the directions (soap + scouring pad only) and it hasn't worn too bad at all, and I expect many more years out of it. My only concern is that I want to use it for everything and I might wear it out faster than I expect!
Cuisinart Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron Round Covered Casserole Collection
The most well known brand is Le Creuset, but those are also the most expensive.I've found this Cuisinart to be very capable and it's about half the price. Its taken some punishment from me over the past few weeks and performed admirably.
I have a Le Creuset enameled aluminum stock pot.I can't see a noticeable difference in the quality of their enameling. This bad boy is serious cookware for serious cooking. If you are looking for affordable enameled cast iron this is it.I've used Le Creuset many times and it is great cookware...but this is just as good for much less money.I bought this piece the 7qt oval Dutch Oven in Cherry Red for $89.90 on Amamzon..(the corresponding Le Creuset piece goes for $275.00) and is is beautifully made...not like some of the cheaper knock-offs.Its VERY heavy and the enamel is applied perfectly. Will buy additional pieces (5qt Dutch Oven, grill pan etc.) now that I know Cuisinart makes their Enameled Cast Iron so well.

I bought this enameled cast iron pan in hopes that it would be high enough quality to last. Unfortunately, I found cracks in the enamel after only two uses of very light wear. My stovetop use did not exceed the medium setting and my oven use didn't exceed 300 degrees. I would consider that very gentle handling! I will be returning this and buying a le creuset in hopes of a better result.I bought one of these pans recently (retail) for about $70.The first thing I cooked in it was a nice lean pork loin roast. There's just something about cooking in cast iron everything comes out juicy and delicious. Also this Cuisinart pot has such a nice finish, it cleaned up SO easily, I barely had to wipe it! I did put a skim of veg oil in the bottom before I added the roast.Anyway, I won't be spending the $$ for Le Creuset enamel cookware any more.

I don't expectthis pot to last more than 6-9 months at the current rate of wear. I have been very happy with the cooking performance of enameled cast iron cookware, but from now on I will stick with the quality and Lifetime Warranty of Le Creuset.
Peace, Ben
