Starfrit Simplicity Aluminum 10 Inch Silver Fry Pan with black handle

Starfrit Simplicity Aluminum 10 Inch Silver Fry Pan with black handleIn the past I purchased these at Wal-Mart.A great skillet. They no longer carry them, having gone to "Paula Deen" (tm) cookware.I would buy this skillet again and again.

Thought that Starfrit only made ceramic coated pans.Obviously not. This is a polymer coated pan.Probably a decent pan if you're into polymer non-stick.

The Gourmet Bar Pot Rack

Wall-Mounted Pot Rack, 36-InchesOur kitchen didn't have tall enough ceilings for a proper overhanging pot rack but we did have wall space for a wall pot rack.I was slightly afraid that this wall pot track wouldn't be able to handle the weight of many pots and pans but after installing it we've had no issues whatsoever.Installation was very easy. The price was unbeatable considering alternative wall pot racks could go up to the hundreds.I would definitely recommend this.

For the money, you can't beat this pot rack! It comes with plenty of hooks, something other pot racks sell separately. I was able to put it up in about 5 minutes. I made sure to use some good wall anchors just in case, but it's holding a full set of Calphalon pots and a 10" iron skillet without coming down. Simple, straight-forward, and very little space required!

I have a teeny tiny apartment with limited storage in my kitchen. This rack was a lifesaver for I could hang it on the wall rather than suspended from the ceiling like other racks, which would have been impossible in my small kitchen.I didn't have a place for my pots and pans with my small cabinets so this item was the perfect solution. Now everything is nice and organized I'm a happy girl!

I had been looking for an item like this for my father to make things easier for him. This was a great find at a great price.

Want The Gourmet Bar Pot Rack Discount?

the rack is excellent. looks perfect in the space.

two screws were included in the packaging, but they were too short to go through drywall and properly grip into the studs.

i use this rack for three heavy cast iron pans and a steel-core enameled pan, so i couldn't risk it being mounted improperly. i purchased two new screws which were about twice as long and a slightly heavier gauge, at 30 cents each. the local hardware store put black patina on them for me. drilled two holes, screwed thru drywall into the studs (mine are true 2x4s this is an old house) and the rack is now invincible.

black patina on the rack and hooks is consistent, with a subtle matte look.

design wise, it's old school and clean at the same time. a great surprise for the money.

i recommend it absolutely. only caveat is to make sure you mount properly to accommodate heavier items.

All-Clad Stainless 14-Inch Fry Pan

All-Clad Stainless 14-Inch Fry PanI was very hesitant to spend close to $160 on a single fry pan, but I had heard so many good things about All-Clad and thought it would be a wise investment. For the first 6 months, the pan was great.I loved the large size and used it often.I was just about ready to invest in an entire set of All-Clad cookware when my pan warped.I was using it on an electric stove as usual, and the pan just simply warped.I was thoroughly disappointed that a $160 pan would warp during normal use.I won't be spending this kind of money again.

****Follow-up.I contacted All-Clad regarding the warped pan-they had me send it in for evaluation, and yesterday a brand new one showed up at my door.I'm impressed at their customer service and the fact that they stand behind their product.

I got this pan a month ago, mainly to round out my collection (wow, it looks great hanging on my rack!)To be honest, I was a bit worried about how much use I'd actually get out of it.

How wrong I was! It's absolutely spectacular for recipies that require large amounts of sauted vegatables.I love being able to saute several large onions, peppers, etc. at the same time.

Where it really shines is searing meat in prepartion for roasting.I love to roast, particularly pork and lamb.Only a pan like this lets you sear an entire pork tenderloin without any acrobatics.

It's definitely not for everyone, but I really enjoy using it.

Yes, it's a REALLY big pan!A perfect cookware addition for the serious cook.Surprisingly, the pan isn't as heavy as I expected and is a manageable size.It will easily saute 6 to 8 chicken breasts at once without crowding and is perfect for large batches. It heats evenly and lives up to the All-Clad quality I expected.Easy cleanup, too!Highly recommended.

Culinary Institute of America Masters Collection 10" Sauté Pan

Culinary Institute of America Masters Collection 10' Sauté PanPurchased this recently and after two meals I already know it's the best sautee pan I've ever owned. It's weighty but not unwieldy, feels great, and spreads heat perfectly. It's also already responsible for the best omelette I've ever made and is in immediate full use as it's a huge upgrade from "the usual". With a lifetime warranty, I doubt I'll ever own another sautee pan.

I recently started getting serious about cooking and decided it was time to upgrade my cookware. After doing considerable research I was settled on allclad. I am glad i went to a store and picked up the pan first. after picking up the allclad pan i felt it was a quality pan but the handle was quite uncomfortable compared to the cia pan.

this is the best pan I own. It is a beautiful piece of cookware. It sits on the top of my stove begging for me to heat it up until the oil begins to shimmer and toss in fresh sea scallops until they are a beautiful golden brown.

It cleans up easily, heats evenly, can be transferred from the stovetop to under the broiler, andbecause it isnt nonstick you can produce a nice fond after cooking a protein that can be deglazed and turned into a nice pan sauce.

Buy with no remorse. I recommend this brand to anyone interested in investing in quality cookware. I plan on replacing most of my old nonstick with the rest of the Masters collection line.

Cajun Cookware Skillets 9 Inch Cast Iron Wedge Pan Skillet

Spirit Thermolon Non-Stick Skillet Size: 10-in.

Spirit Thermolon Non-Stick Skillet Size: 10-in.wife loves it, eggs slid out of the pan first time it was used. Too bad they ended up on the floor.

This is a quality pan. Nicely weighted, great non-stick surface, and well built. All non-stick surfaces will lose the non-stick quality over time. Sooner if you use no fat at all when cooking, or things like cooking spray on them. The infomercials are a bit deceiving that way. This pan comes with not only a warranty on the workmanship of the pan, but they also offer a two-year warranty on the non-stick coating. Most companies won't do that because they can't control how you are treating the pan. I was impressed. In my experience with cookware, you gain a lot in quality and performance by passing over the cheapest price point and going for the medium price point, you gain very little by moving from the medium to the highest price point. That is true of non-stick cookware, especially considering they will need to be replaced once you ware through the coating no matter how good the rest of the construction is. We had to return a cheaper pan because it didn't have enough weight to resist warping when heated. Heavier construction will also result in better heat distribution. This pan is perfect.

Nordic Ware Leakproof Springform Pan, 10 Cup, 9 Inch

Nordic Ware Leakproof Springform Pan, 10 Cup, 9 InchI own a retail bakery and after a couple of our springform pans got dented up trying to fit the ring on the base, I decided to try another brand. I picked up one of these to try and it's the best springform pan we've ever used. Very easy to put together (saves time in a busy bakery). So we decided to replace all our existing springforms with these. Great product.

I have used many other springform pans and the all evenutally leak. This one is the best I have used it many many times and it is just wonderful. If you like to make cheesecakes this is the one for you. I highly recommened this one to all.

For all intents and purposes, this springform pan does the job. However, after some usage , the non-stick coating on the inside begins to flake off. So, if you like non-stick chemicals in your cheesecake, by all means buy it. I prefer the Kaiser.

I've never owned a spring form pan, so my decision to purchase this item was based on the good reviews. Since it was my first pan, I didn't want to buy something very expensive (in case my interest in baking fizzled out), but I also didn't want something that was cheap and was going to have to be replaced quickly. The non-stick coating (along with a bit of cooking spray) worked perfectly for the basic cake mix I made. The pan is raised, so there are no edges for the cake to get caught on when sliding it off. The form cools relatively quickly and cleans easily. After a few uses, though, I did notice a bit of rust on the latch. It's not enough to be alarmed over nor does it come in contact with anything that's being baked in the pan. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recomend this product to anyone.

T-fal Signature Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

T-fal C112SC74 Signature Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Dishwasher Safe 12-Piece Cookware Set, RedWe ordered this set to add on to an existing mish mash of pots and pans we've had for years. The hope was that we could toss some of the older pans out.

Strong Points: Great coating, the food literally slides off with little effort. Inclusion of a couple tools is a nice touch (though not sure it's worth paying more for, as the tools probably retail for a dollar or two). Heating distribution is even, and so it cooks effectively.

Weak Points: Small. It's hard at times to convert 8" pot into a visual, especially when the pictures show things that look bigger. A few of the pans are suitable for children, but not big enough tocook something for a single adult.

Overall, the product appears well made, but I would go to a more expensive set with a larger selection of pots and pans if I was going to use these as my primary cooking utensils.

I am very pleased with my cookware. The quality is great and the price was right. Easy to clean up after use.

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillet Twin Pack

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillet Twin Pack, Red Speckle ()My favorite frying pans are good old cast-iron, and I compared a cast-iron pan with the larger 10" Paula Deen. In each, I made an egg for an egg sandwich, meaning the egg needed to be flipped. Then I fried a frozen hamburger patty. Third, I made scrambled cheesy eggs (so the eggs had to be "stirred"). My comparisons:

LOOKS:

***** Paula Deen. These pans are simply gorgeous. I have the Blueberry Speckle, and it's a very pretty blue porcelain with a black non-stick interior.

**** Cast Iron. Even when it's new, there's nothing gorgeous about cast iron. Heft is its middle name.

HANDLES:

***** Paula Deen. The rubber-ized handle matches the blue exterior. It is non-slip and comfortable to hold. And, it doesn't get hot. You do have to be more careful that the handle doesn't wander over a heat source, though, as it would be damaged. The handle is solidly riveted to the pan with two rivets. It could come loose eventually or with banging around, but it isn't put together in a flimsy manner.

***** Cast Iron. The handle gets very hot, but it's also indestructible and part & parcel with the bowl of the pan. No separation anxiety.

HOW FOODS FRY:

The Paula Deen heats up a little faster than the cast iron, and cools down faster than the cast iron.

***** Paula Deen. No oil needed for either the eggs or the burger. The eggs cooked beautifully with no browning around the edges. If you LIKE a fried egg with crisp edges, then this may not be the pan for you. The burger browned nicely. Eggs and burger released for serving perfectly and smoothly.

**** Cast Iron. At least a minimum brushing of oil is needed for both eggs and the burger. Eggs more likely to brown unless you're watching carefully and use more oil. Burgers brown nicely. Food definitely doesn't slide off the pan like with a non-stick. The need for oil could be a concern if counting calories or watching cholesterol.

PAN STABILITY:

*** Paula Deen. Maybe it's because I'm used to my cast iron pans which I have in sizes both bigger and smaller than the Paula Deen 10" and 8". I have a gas stovetop, and I was annoyed when I couldn't flip the egg or flip the burger without holding onto the fry pan handle. When I tried to flip them one-handed, as I always do with the cast-iron pan, the Paula Deen pan skittered off to the side of the burner and the bowl tilted up (the handle tilted down). Perhaps you are saying, "Well, get a grip, and use the handle like you're supposed to." I'm not arguing with that, but I'm spoiled by the cast iron pans and I got annoyed.

Even just sitting on the stovetop, it is easier to tip than most pans. Maybe the handle is too heavy for the base.

The 10" pan, by my measurements, is: 9.75" diameter at the top rim; 6.5" diameter for the flat bottom; 7" handle.

The 8" pan, by my measurements, is: 8" diameter at the top rim; 5.5" diameter for the flat bottom; 6 1/8" handle length.

***** Cast Iron. Stays where you put it, whether you are flipping or stirring.

This fault is the reason I took one star off my overall rating of the two Paula Deen fry pans I have. The handle seems too heavy or the body is not heavy enough, to counterweight each other.

FRY TEMPERATURE:

**** Paula Deen. This is non-stick. Per the instructions that came with the fry pans, you can use "low to medium heat only". You cannot do a proper high-heat stir-fry in a non-stick pan. Due to the rubber-like handle, the Paula Deen fry pans are oven safe to only 350 degrees. However, these restrictions apply to all non-stick brands, so it wasn't a deduction from my overall rating. I've just deducted a star for this comparison.

Please also note that any PTFE non-stick pan has a caveat for cooking with "birds or small pets in or near the kitchen". The nonstick coating can "emit fumes harmful to birds", even if you are NOT using a high heat. In particular, though, smoke from burning foods or overheated oils (including butter) "will create dangerous fumes which a bird's respiratory system cannot handle". This is covered in the Paula Deen instructions that came with the fry pans.

***** Cast Iron. Can take any temperature you throw at it. This includes any oven temperature.

CLEANUP:

***** Paul Deen. Extremely easy clean-up. Definitely no soaking needed. Of course, you need to use no-scratch utensils when cooking and no abrasives when cleaning. The fry pans are not dishwasher safe.

Paula Deen pans have a lifetime warranty for "normal household use". This does not cover "damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse or commercial use. Scratches, stains, discoloration, damage from overheating or damage from use of automatic dishwasher are not covered."

***** Cast Iron. Maybe it's just because I'm used to it, but I find cast-iron easy to clean. A metal mesh scrubber and hot water takes off everything without hurting the pan. (You don't use soap on cast-iron, as the soap can be absorbed by the pan and affect the taste of food cooked afterwards.) Not dishwasher safe, as you'll get rust on it and it probably won't get all the food off it anyway. (Rust is just scrubbed off.)

Overall, the Paula Deen pans are lovely and work the way non-stick is supposed to work. I'm not throwing out my cast-iron, though!

()I own some very inexpensive non-stick pans and one high-end, very expensive non-stick pan, and these pans compare as you would expect them to at this price point.

These Paula Deen pans are of a good but not excellent quality and feel a little light. The non-stick surface has worked as well as my high-end pan for a while though I can tell it is starting to wear after just a couple of months'use with only plastic/silicone utensils.

Where these pans set themselves apart is their appearance and if you have a country kitchen or a hanging pot rack where your pans are exposed these are a fantastic choice. I haven't seen any pans as attractive as these before and the finish is very durable. So if you need some non-stick pans but can't go high-end I think these are a good purchase though not necessarily a better purchase than a less-expensive version at a big box store. If you're trying to find something that is unique and will look fantastic in your kitchen then these are an attractive kitchen accessory.

Buy Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillet Twin Pack Now

()Given the other positive reviews, it's possible I received a defective product. However, I just cannot recommend these pans.

The main problem is the handle, which is extremely heavy in comparison to the pan itself. On my coil stove top, the handle end, especially on the small pan, presses down on the coil much more than the other end because the pan is always on the verge of tilting toward the handle due to its heavy weight. Setting it on a flat surface, I find I can just barely touch the end of the handle with the tip of my finger and cause the pan to tilt, so the issue isn't with my coils. It is definitely with the pan. Because of the imbalance, cooking is uneven. I had reasonable success with a single burger patty, though I noticed on grilled cheese the side that didn't sit firmly on the stove didn't brown as quickly.

I've used a variety of brands of pans, the cheaper kinds all the way to a few higher end, expensive pans. These Paula Deen pans were about on par with the low price discount store pans as far as performance, though they look nicer and will probably last longer.

I would LOVE the heavy handles if the pans themselves were equally weighted to provide the proper balance. The grip is nice, plus a nice appearance.

()I cook a great deal and have many frypans in my cupboard and have had many frypans over the years...non stick, stainless, triple ply, aluminum etc.

Pros:

Affordable

Attractive

Heats quickly

Easy cleanup

Cons:

Not oven safe over 350 degrees

Weight of handle and frypan not balanced properly

Frypans are lightweight

Loses heat very quickly after cooking is done

These frypans are fine for eggs, quick hamburger patties and the like.I would not use them for anything much more time sensitive than quick cooking.

For $30 these two pans might serve those needs very well.

()These very attractive non-stick fry pans cook evenly and gave my fried eggs a nice crisp edge.Chicken tenders and sautéed vegetables came out well too.Loved the handle. It's padded, a good size, doesn't get hot, and overall has a very nice feel to it with an interesting shape that's very comfortable. The pans wash easily and well, which by the way, I did by hand.I don't put them in the dishwasher. Assuming, and I am, that they last a good long time, I highly recommend them.

Cuisinart 66-17 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 17-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart 66-17 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 17-Piece Cookware SetThis is a beautiful set of cookware and, I think, a great value...I paid $189.99 for 17 pieces, 15 of which are pots, pans & lids and 2 inserts..for pasta and for steaming.I like that there are 2 of the same size lid.You always get 1 lid that fits 2 items in the set and I would always use them at the same time and only be able to cover 1. No worries with this set--there is 1 lid for each. Also, I did a lot of price shopping before I picked this one and it's the only brand that calls it 17-piece and gives you all cookware.Every other set I saw that was over, say, 10 pieces-the extra was knives or plastic utensils vs pots and pans.If it was 17 pieces, 7 to 9 of them were bowls, utensils, knives, etc. Rip offs for the prices they charged. And finally..the outside is nice and smooth, not ringed or otherwise textured...makes for nice cleanup and hopefully they'll stay nice looking longer than their predecessors. The ONLY thing I'm not thrilled with is that the lid handles do get warm...even hot.The pot and pan handles don't, but the lids definitely do.But for the price and quality? I have potholders.... Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. What the heck..5 it is!

The reason I decided to purchase these was simply because of the great customer service I had recieved from Cuisinart.I had purchased a frying pan and one of the 115V tines broke.I called Customer service and they sent me out a brand new pan no questions asked.

These pans are great however they are NOT dishwasher safe. The outside finish will dull (Don't ask) but I recovered it with some olive oil. They wash quite quickly and nicely.Definately non stick.Great even heat.

I bought a set of Cuisinart teflon non-stick pans due to the fact that there was supposed to be a lifetime warranty. Well when the teflon coating started peeling, I contacted customer service 1-800-726-0190 and was assured that if I sent them back they would warranty the pans. I stressed that they were several years old and the girl said that was ok. I spent $30 to FedEx the pans (sent back all pans in the set) and was also required to enclose a check for $10 to cover return shipping.

After about a month, I had not heard anything, so I called and they had no record of receiving. I related the fedex confirmation and they said to give it another week to update my file. I called back in a week and the girl said that there was a note in the file saying "costomer abuse". I asked what that meant and she said she didn't know. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was referred to "Daniel". Daniel said that he would look into it and it was up to "corporate" and he had no input. He said he would call me back in 24 hours. Daniel did not call back in 24 hours, so in 48 hours I called and asked for him. He still said that it was up to corporate I said that was not good enough; I have $40 more dollars invested in the pans. I told him that I have never seen a pan that eventually did have some peeling and wearing off of the teflon and a "lifetime warranty" should be honored. I also asked for a supervisor higher up.

A day later I got a call from "Dena". Dena (clanging pans sound) said the the customer abuse was using too high of heat which caused the teflon to fail she also said that it was evident that metal utensils were used. Neither of which are true, the pans were just old and wearing out, but we bought them initially because of the lifetime warranty. Dena stated that if they just replaced pans for everybody that they would go broke replacing pans and they were NOT going to warranty my pans. Due to my constant whining, she did agree to ship back the pans (received but damaged with dings on the edges), refund my $30 shipping and the $10 check (have not received yet). My response was since she was going to ship my pans back at a cost of $20 (probably their cost to ship) and write a check for $40, wouldn't it be wiser to invest that $60 and send us a new set of pans that have a (Cousinart cost) of $60. She said "Look, we generally don't refund the original shipping, so NO". I also told Dena that I would post a positive Amazon review as well as a negative Amazon review whichever was needed. She said that was my right. So here I am with the negative I will never buy Cuisinart again and ther warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on...

I did a lot of research before buying a new set of cookware. I read tons of reviews and this one seemed to be the best. Not only were there good reviews but there seemed to be great features and shapes/sizes of pots & pans too. I even bought some additional separate pieces at a much higher price. Too bad for me.

My biggest issue is that the handles are very hard to hold. They are too slender and have a concave shape so that one cannot grip them easily and comfortably. This is especially problematic with the skillets or larger saucepans (bought separately). Secondly, they get VERY hot, very fast and things burn in seconds. They seem rather lightweight. I would prefer a heavier bottom. I think this add to the heating/burning issue. They seems to scratch easily even though I have been very careful with them. The non-stick feature is good and they are easy to clean. Lastly, the covered Saute Pan is too small. For me it is a waste. The saucepans are very shallow to the point of being almost unuseable for me.

Think twice before buying this cookware.

Presto 07039 22-Inch Electric Griddle

Presto 07039 22-Inch Electric GriddleNormally, I hate to give bad reviews since I think most products are disproportionately represented with negative reviews already. On this product, however, I feel that the exact opposite is true.

This review ran longer than I meant it to, so here is a quick overview if you don't want to read it all:

1) Uneven cooking surface (horrible for things like pancakes)

2) Doesn't heat evenly (it is very hot around the outside and cool in the middle)

3) Heats up slowly (probably to make sure the middle is at least a little hot)

4) This is specific to mine, but the grease tray broke in half on the third use when I wasn't even touching it.

Now, on to the details...

We got this griddle about 2 weeks ago to replace the unit that we've used for the last 15 years (although we've really only been using it heavily for the last couple of years). The teflon was coming off the old griddle and the heating unit was starting to go out. When ordering the new griddle, I kind of thought they were probably all the same so I picked one that was reasonably priced and that had reasonably good reviews.

The first thing we did with the new griddle was to warm tortillas I have to say that went perfectly well; so, if that's what you want it for, this is probably a great buy. After that, things went downhill pretty quickly.

The next morning, I broke out the new griddle to make some pancakes.I noticed that it seemed to take a long time to warm up, but that isn't really that big of a deal to me so I just waited patiently. When I started pouring the pancake mix onto the griddle surface, it immediately became obvious that it wasn't completely flat. The pancakes all ran together into the center of the griddle and came out as long oval shapes that I had to cut apart with the spatula that was the first really irritating problem. The second problem is that it cooks very unevenly and the stuff in the middle hardly cooks at all while everything around the edges burns.I've never had pancakes that turned out worse.

As one last example of the uneven heating, I also made grilled ham & cheese sandwiches for the kids on this. Each sandwich had a burned line running exactly where it had been sitting over the heating element it was almost funny, the rest of the sandwich was just fine.

Anyway, we ordered another brand of griddle to replace this one, but I had already thrown the box away so I can't return it oh well...The new one hasn't come yet, but I'm a bit nervous now that I know that not all griddles are the same.

Edit: I just thought I'd throw in here that the replacement griddle I ended up getting was the Broil King USG-10G.After several days of usage, that griddle works great if you are looking for another alternative to this one.

I really like this design. It has a slight raised lip running around the outside edge which contains any batters, grease, or other liquids which might run over the edge and create a mess; the grease drain is only on the front edge and is treated with the same sturdy non-stick coating as the rest of the surface, making for easy clean up. Indeed, the lack of plastic attachments make cleanup easy, and I really like the simple design, a very large cooking surface, two plastic handles and a removable plastic grease catch.

The only thing keeping me from rating it a five out of five is that I would have liked to see a thicker aluminum used, the base is only about 2mm thick, though I've been unable to find anything thicker

I purchased this item as a result of the positive ratings on this product. I was very disappointed in the quality in that the cooking surface is very thin and the heating element is a single loop that is attached to the bottom of the surface. This causes the heat to be concentrated primarily in the area of the heating element which results in extremely uneven heating on the cooking surface. I allowed the unit to preheat and when I cooked pancakes there was a dark streak in the area where they were over the heating element. I would not recommend this product.

I bought this to replace my All-Clad LTD Nonstick Grande Griddle, a workhorse for weekend breakfast cooking, but a little pricey to chuck every two years. After all, these nonstick cooking utensils don't last forever, and the more use they get, the sooner they need replacing.

Looking for an affordable alternative, I settled upon this griddle after reading the other reviews. I find it to be just the thing for cooking bacon, eggs, and pancakes for a Sunday morning breakfast. The construction quality is certainly adequate, the grille is quite large, and it heats up quickly. The heating is a little uneven from one side to the other, but you can use this to your advantage. It's not that bad, really.

All in all, I am glad I purchased this after having it for a couple of months, and when it breaks, I'll probably buy another one!

Cast Iron Steak Weight & Bacon Press

Cast Iron Steak Weight & Bacon PressIt is a functional item and arrived as described and quickly.I think it works fine but had a few flaws in the casting that I wish that they had caught.A little better quality control is needed. Not worth returning, I will just grind the spots in question to protect my cookwares finish.

Nice heavy bacon/sausage press. It's cast iron so don't get it wet but it's exactly what it looks like. Very solidly made. The wood handle is screwed in at both ends and the wood isn't finished on the ends, so again, if you get it wet, that might be a problem, but if you keep it clean with a brush or scraper, this utensil is likely to last a long, long time. Can't go wrong.

When I got this, not only was the metal and handle sticky with some unknown substance, but the press was actually warped in the middle so it wouldn't lay flat. The texture on the bottom is very small squares packed closely together. Not what I was looking for. I returned it post-haste.

Do yourself a favor and spend another 5 bucks on a QUALITY press. I bought the Outset Q111. Significantly better.

This is great for flattening bacon and steaks. I highly recommend this for a friend and would buy again. It has small bumps on the flat, heavy, device. Well made. Needs to be seasoned and dried well after washing as it is metal and can rust if not treated. It does have a sticker that states "Made in China".

I washed this item before putting it to use. While washing it, it was literally turning to rust in my hands. My boyfriend kept saying..Naaah, that's not rust. But, what the hell else could it be? Rusty water just beading up on the press almost as fast as it was wet.

Then the handle got super sticky and it's as if it's coated in some weird adhesive or something.

I'm going to return this thing as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor, get one from a name brand company. I actually thought I was ordering the Kingsford one but, I ended up with this and well, it sucks.

Gourmet Trends Perfect Sliders

Gourmet Trends Perfect Sliderswe made about 15 sliders with a pound of hamburger meat.none of the coating came off on us and we had about 3 batches (makes 6 at a time).Cooked them perfectly! Washed off pretty easy too!Don't know how long it will last but will be fun while it does!

Bought this pan thinking it would be fun to make sliders for dinner...used it once and had to throw it out.The black coating on the pan started coming off on the second batch of burgers I made. When I rinsed the pan off after that, more of the coating peeled off.Next time I'll use a regular frying pan and just make small patties...what a waste!

The pan is too shallow, when I cooked the burgers the grease runs over the edge and I had quite a little fire on my stove.I will use a regular pan next time.

Cuisinart 630-30 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Round Grill Pan

Cuisinart 630-30 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Round Grill PanI love this pan!As someone who truly enjoys cooking, I have several types of 'skillets;' cast iron, non stick annodized, and enameled cast iron. Each has its particular talents in the kitchen.

I wanted a grill pan. After doing some research, I decided on this Cuisinart for two reasons:reputation and weight.I was also lucky to find it at a time when special pricing was featured.

The weight issue is important for me as I have lung disease that fatigues me rather quickly. This pan is managable! But of course, the object of buying it was grilling. I have done steaks, chicken, pork and salmon in this pan, and it conducts heat beautifully. The initial sear is exquisite. It is the grill pan for which I was hoping, and I could not be more pleased.

My main reason for purchasing a grill pan was for things like tuna steak and grilled vegetables. I don't eat greasy foods, so I'm not so concerned about draining off fat, but more interested in dry-cooking and blackening.Although a big, heavy cast iron pan is best for this purpose, I didn't want to lift anything that heavy all the time.

This pan really works well for what I need. So well that I find I use it for EVERYTHING, EVERY DAY, not just for grilling! It has replaced my other non-stick fry pans for all purposes.

Pros: Incredible cleanup--much better than my Calphalon non-stick pans. Handle is longer and does not get as hot as Calphalon, so you can actually pick it up without a potholder.Pan is very light, considering its size--it's HUGE!(see cons).

Cons: It's light in weight. If you are looking for something heavy this is not it--get a cast iron. For me, this is a plus. Also, I wish I had looked further and gotten the 10-inch.I have an electric stove and my burners are not big enough for the 12-inch pan. I still use it but move it off the burner a little.I recommend the 10-inch to get better use of the heat if you have electric.

Bottom line:I would buy this pan again, but probably the 10-inch.

I chose this Cuisinart Grill for 4 reasons.Cuisinart's reputation, price, weight and the fact that the entire grill can actually be placed in the oven.

I use my grill almost daily and it is so lightweight and easy to clean.

I love it!

I am a serious cook for 30 years. This is by far the best grill pan I have ever owned.

Want Cuisinart 630-30 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Round Grill Pan Discount?

I've only used this pan a handful of times maybe less than 10 times for steaks and burgers. The nonstick part of one side of the pan is already partially showing the metal part of the pan. It's the outer part of the pan that's coming off which I don't scrub hard when I'm cleaning it. I would even normally soak my pans for a few hours to ease up the cleaning. I would expect the center part to come off if anything from the scrubbing. I just use a regular sponge pad that's normally used for dishes. I must have gotten a defective one.

I'm already beyond amazon's return policy so my only option is to return it to cuisinart. I called cuisinart and they said that I have to ship this pan to them so they can look at the item. I also have to send a $7 check for shipping costs to mail the replacement item if they think it's a manufacturer's defect. Otherwise they'll just return the old pan. I don't know if I want to waste any more time and money with this pan.

Sunbeam CKSBWFMP25 Mini Pancake Maker, Red

Sunbeam CKSBWFMP25 Mini Pancake Maker, RedMy initial response upon opening, cleaning and making my first batch of pancakes was, "now I remember why I threw away my waffle maker and George Foreman grill".

The plates are not removable and it cannot be immersed in water, so it will take all kinds of contortions to clean it properly. And if you overfill which is very easy given its size, be prepared for the drips and spill all over the sides and that area just beyond the plates where crud easily gathers. (Area is not non-stick, so anything here needs to be wetted down and the water "soaked" in to remove. I needed a scrub pad to clean.).Though, one way to minimize spills is to pour in the batter, let the pancakes set up, then close the lid.

To be fair, I figured given the price that it didn't come with removable plates. So, it only accounts for a small portion of my disappointment. My biggest issue is that it doesn't make particularly good pancakes. And that's mostly related to size.

The machine itself is shockingly tiny. It's no taller than my toaster and about 1/2 as wide. A large part of that area belongs to the handle, heating element and stand. The result is pancakes that are about the size of a a silver dollar. An actual silver dollar (in diameter and width) not a restaurant silver dollar pancake. A two-bite for adults. Or what you would find on a cocktail table beneath a spread of something.

The machine uses the standard, red, yellow and green lights to let the user know when it's ready and when the pancake is ready. I followed this. That batch of pancakes were browned on the outside, uncooked on the inside. The next batch I left to cook a little bit longer. Same result. The third batch, I left even longer. They were darn near hockey pucks. Nicely brown but extremely crispy. Don't know about you, but I don't like crispy pancakes. The remaining batches were a mix of okay and just like the others.

About 45 mins in, the areas on the end stopped browning at all. This seemed to be an issue with the top plate. The pancake browned on the bottom, but the not on the top. On one batch, this happened on the bottom right. Next round, it was the top right. By the very last batch, almost all were unevenly cooked on the top. Had to flip them over and close the top again.

The whole waiting game of waiting for the plates to reheat makes the whole cooking process take a long time. It took near an hour to cook about 2 cups of batter. The directions suggested 1/2 tablespoon for each pancake area. Sometimes I adhered to this. Sometimes not. In any event, if you have a family to feed, look somewhere else or plan not to eat yourself.

All things said and done, nice novelty item, but not practical for actually feeding people. It might be worth it if you've got plenty of time or you're cooking ahead for a cocktail party (and serving cold pancakes).

Unfortunately the packaging was tossed with some other boxes so I cannot return. But it's unlikely that I will ever use again.

This is so easy and quick, the grandkids love it, and I found there are a lot of things you can do. I used strawberries with marscapone between two with a fancy tootpick for appetizers. I have also made blini for my caviar obsession. It's so easy to clean.I would suggest using a squeeze bottle to load the mix, makes it a lot easier.I have made up to 200 at a time, no problems whatsoever.

Tools of the Trade Belgique 10" Hard Anodized Fry Pan

Tools of the Trade Belgique 10' Hard Anodized Fry PanPan worked very well (received as wedding present) and performed flawlessly for well over a year.Recently discovered that the handle on this pan started getting hot when in use.As I type with blisters beginning to form on the palm of my left hand, I am planning on taking this pan out to the trash as soon as it cools enough to not melt my trash can.I have cooked eggs, potstickers, sausage, bacon, vegetables, onions, shallots, stir-fry, lamb, and chicken in this pan and the handle stayed comfortably cool each and every time until recently. It has never been abused, always carefully handwashed promptly after each use.You expect a hot handle with, say, a cast-iron skillet. This is a safety hazard.

These frying pans look great but watch out be sure to use a pot holder when using them! The handles become extremely hot and can not be touched when the pan is in use.I would not recommend these pans to even an expert chef.

Huh, weird... I'm seeing three terrible reviews in a row, but it's like they're talking about a different pan.Maybe they are?The handle on this one is silicone and I've always found it comfortable to the touch, even when hot.I actually came here looking to buy more pans in this line, because I've been using this 10" one for about two years for everything and it's the best frying pan I've ever had.Nonstick surface that holds up, good heat distribution, and oh yeah: comfortable handle.

Lodge Logic L12SC3 Self-Basting Iron Cover, 13.25-inch

Lodge Logic L12SC3 Self-Basting Iron Cover, 13.25-inchAs with all Lodge products this cover works as it should. It keeps whatever you are cooking moist and allows a very low heat setting. It would be five stars if it did not cost almost twice the price of the skillet it is used with.

It's a lid. It covers my matching Lodge skillet. It does what it's supposed to do.It seems well made.

Heavy duty lid for my extra-large skillet. This set up can do just about any job you want.I will take these camping too.Together they are pretty heavy so if you don't have a lot of strength in your arms you might want something else. Also, it is tricky to fit the skillet into the double sink without scratching white enamel.Don't use detergent to wash.Just hot water and scrubbing.Dry right away to avoid rust. Will leave a mark on light countertop so use a pad.Cooking with them outweighs most negatives though but not for the person who wants something to throw in the dishwasher.

I love this lid, but I think it's funny that it costs more than the pan.

However, with this lid, you definitely bring the pan to life. The 13.25 inch skillet is endowed with Dutch oven capabilities now. It now does roasts, sautés mushrooms, and generally gives you a stovetop baking option. In general, I highly recommended this lid as well as its matching skillet. The only drawbacks are that it is incredibly heavy and takes up enormous amounts of space in the kitchen.

It works great and meats are very moist. When one buys this you have to think long term. Cast iron can easily be handed down to the next generation if taken care of, making this well worth the purchase price! Besides it sucks trying to use tinfoil on a pan this size when you don't have the lid.

Swiss Diamond Replacement 32 cm Round Cover for 12-1/2-Inch Wok and 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan

Swiss Diamond Replacement 32 cm Round Cover for 12-1/2-Inch Wok and 12-1/2-Inch Fry PanMy lid arrived with the knob as separate parts. It wouldn't stay tight in use. On my last try tightening it, the glass exploded into safety glass bits, leaving shrapnel wounds on my hand. I called the "secret" Amazon customer service number, and was given a refund without having to return the lid (I offered pictures of my sink and my hand). All in the first half hour since the box arrived. I'm still bleeding, but I have no desire to spend the evening at an emergency room.

The pan looks great (I have to clean glass from my kitchen before I can try it), but I don't want a replacement lid; I could have been blinded.

(Doesn't the two stars make you wonder what it would take to get a one star rating from me?)

I bought this as a replacement top. When received it was assembled. After unpacking I did try to tighten the handle which seemed loose but then backed off before setting it down because of suspicion that maybe it was supposed to be that way. In the morning I found that it was totally shattered into a number of pieces. It was fine when set down and was not exposed to any temperature extremes or external stresses afterward. I consider the product design defective and possibly dangerous. Amazon was very quick to give us a refund. I cannot fault them. However, I do feel obligated to inform other potential purchasers since I see that another customer also had a shattering experience.

The lid came without a knob ~ so what good is that?

The lid itself is great ~ we had to go to the dealer in order to get a knob for it though.

We would never order a product from Total Concepts again. Upon speaking to Total Concepts, they were utterly of NO HELP in helping us get the knob ..... which should have come with the original purchase.

I ordered this cover for use with my 12 1/2 inch fry pan which was sold without a cover. The cover fits well, looks great and was delivered quickly however it did not have a knob included with it.Apparently the entire shipment was sent from the factory without knobs but the only solution offered me was to return the cover for my money back.As I had already paid to have it shipped to me, I was not prepared to pay to ship it back as well, and still have no lid, therefore I have kept it and managed to find a knob to fit.It would have been helpful, however, to know there was no knob included with the cover before I purchased this item.
