The Pampered Chef Mix N Chop #2583
My husband is a hunter, and we eat a lot of ground venison, a super source of low-fat "organic" protein ... nutritionaly better than even chicken!Frozen then thawed ground meat often clumps and does not cook up as uniformly as fresh ground meat. This tool is super at breaking up the clumps and the meat fries up so nicely in small pieces.I'm buying extras for presents for friends and family members.By the way, I paid $8.75 + $4.99 shipping here on Amazon though prices are higher now (just a month after purchasing thru Amazon), and this product is listed on the Pampered Chef site for $10 plus shipping.

The Mix N Chop does a great job at cutting up ground beef, ground turkey, or ground pork.I can make very fine pieces, and it's safe for my nonstick cookware. It is a bit slippery though as you're smashing into a nonstick skillet, and one time I flung a ton of meat on the floor. Now I use a giant skillet with straight up/down sidewalls to avoid that from recurring. Also it is quite difficult to clean. The ground meat gets stuck in the middle area, probably more so than the Chop-Stir because it has 5 cutting blades, and because they are curved making it harder to get a brush in there. This product looks much nicer than the Chop-Stir and has a more comfortable handle, but if I had to do it over, I'd try the Chop-Stir because it looks easier to clean.

I love how easy this mix 'n chop makes browning ground beef and turkey. It breaks up all the big clumps into nice bite-size pieces effortlessly.I had a knock-off (white, four straight paddles), but it doesn't hold a candle to this design. This one works so much better, and cleans up nicely.Don't settle for the inferior one you might see in kitchen stores, spend the extra money and get a decent one you'll be much happier with.
Classic 6-Piece Enamel Cast Iron Lemon Yellow Cookware Set, Super Sale!
Zwilling TruClad Stainless Steel 12 inch Fry Pan
Pros: Nice looking pan, heavy, sturdy, well made, works well with induction, standard 12 in. lid fits.
Cons:No helper handle, sticks as much as other stainless pans, no lid, no easier to clean than any other stainless.
Overall If I had it to do over would have been opted for a brand named pan with a lid at half the price.
My Plan Pull out the old Griswold cast iron skillet that is nearly indestructible, near nonstick when kept up correctly. (I did have to sandblast it after 30 years of use from using too much oil at too high a temp). It is heavier than my wife likes to use.All of the ceramic I have used only works for a time.Tired of replacing it.

I have a griddle that we use extensively. The griddle, being a hunk of metal, will last for decades, but the control died after about 10 years. This replaced model number 0690003 and fits/works perfectly. Better to spend a few bucks to replace a part than 35 bucks to replace the whole griddle.

Ozeri Green Earth Smooth Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pan, 100-Percent PTFE and PFOA Free
Let me explain my experiences with this a bit. I do a lot of weight lifting and thus eat 4 poached eggs a day on the days that I work out. I alternate lower and upper body, and take Saturday and Sunday off. This means that I use this pan at least ten times per week. My wife would also use it a few times/week for quick meals. So no, it is not what an average person would use it for but the end result will still be the same.
The pan lasted a little over two weeks for me. I am very careful not to raise the temperature above medium heat and only use a silicone spatula while cooking. Moreover, my last ceramic pan lasted almost a year, and it was much cheaper! I did not change up my cooking methods at all. The fault lies with the coating, which started to warp and eventually chip. I guess silicone is too rough for it. Or maybe it was the poaching process (that was a joke, you just add water). I ended up returning it to Sears after only 20 days and got a full refund. The sales lady said that she tried this pan and had a similar experience after 4 months of use.
This pan is pretty good looking. It is very pleasing to the eye and looks well built, but that is not what a pan is designed for. A pan is meant for cooking. If you want something that looks good in your kitchen, by all means go for it. If you want a non-stick pan that will last you a while, get something else. I am going back to Vinaroz, since their products are cheaper and actually last. Cuisinart is another good alternative because of their lifetime warranty. I simply prefer Vinaroz because they are cheap and I can toss them out after a year, instead of dealing with Cuisinart for a replacement. As another option you could simply get a stainless steel pan and have that last you a lifetime, but those are not non-stick.
Now let's move on to another problem. The top "helpful" reviews are posted by people that mostly review Ozeri products, or only have one review under their belt (the one for this pan). It's also odd that they are all 5 star reviews. Simply take a look at the top reviews for this pan and check out the reviewer. I am surprised Amazon doesn't do anything about these people.
In my opinion, this pan is worthless. If I could rate it a 0, I would. I am glad that someone makes non-stick PTFE and PFOA free cookware, but there are cheaper and better alternatives out there. Don't be fooled by the hype and all the 5 star reviews. Most of those are not real.
I really hope you, the potential buyer take the time to read all reviews for this product before you purchase it, and stumble upon mine. This kind of shady marketing is despicable and should not be rewarded with your hard earned cash.
Thank you for your time, and good luck.I loved this pan.I had seen infomercials for a similar ceramic pan and wanted to try it but the reviews for that pan indicated all sorts of shenanigans in the ordering process for that product.Naturally I came to Amazon to look for a comparable product. It is a heavy duty pan. It has an induction friendly base so that you can cook on an induction cooktop.Best of all it's ceramic coating performs as advertised. It is simply the best non-stick pan I have ever owned.
Update: Joy turns to sadness and I'm left wondering why. After several months of happy use, the outstanding non-stick performance suddenly ceased.I have always hand-washed the pan and it NEVER saw the inside of the dishwasher. It was extremely sad to see my favorite pan of all time go bad for no apparent reason! The surface looks fine.I tried to "condition" the pan with oil and heat to no avail.I will be looking for another ECO product that lasts.I guess we'll always have Paris...

I am a classically trained and currently employed sous chef working at a large hotel in down town Seattle.I deal with pots and pans and kitchen equipment every day, all day. I was looking for a nice "non stick" pan to do light duty at my aspartment. I use cast iron pans for the majority of my domestic cooking, but I really like to stir fry noodles and wanted a pan that would be safe (teflon is no good!!!) and quick to heat and clean. After hours of scouring the internet to find "just the right pan" I settled on this one. Out of the box It looks great and has a pretty decent heft and balance to it. The problem is food sticks to the pan, I mean big time sticking. I could not even flip my noodles in the pan because it sticks. I rarely write reviews, but I always read them before making an internet purchase. I was compeled to today because I have had it. This afternoon I took out my pan, cleaned it in warm water and soap and wiped it clean with a paper towel. I slid my fingers along the inside of the pan and was pleased to encounter a smooth and appealing surface. I heated my pan on medium heat (manufacturer recomends this) I placed a small amount of olive oil in the pan( manufactuter recomends this), I broke open two eggs and planed to eat two eggs sunny side up with a nice flat iron steak((already cooked under the broiler). I slid in my eggs and heard a nice sizzle, yum, I love crispy, gooey eggs, waited about thirty seconds and then becan to manipulate the eggs in the pane...........not gonna happen, they stuck so bad, I had to make scrambled eggs. I removed my disapointing eggs from the pan and was shocked at what was left in, a full 3 to 5 percent of my eggs were stuck completly to the inside surface of the pan. I thought this was supposed to be a non stick pan. My only other course to follow next time would be to spray the pan with vegeline(pan spray) and then try to fry me up some eggs that way. Bottom line I would not buy this pan again and would not give it as a gift, me being a chef and gifting this item would in my opinion lower my credability as a culinarian.
Peace and hair grease!!!I hate to be the few that give this cute item 1 star.
But it is true that this pan functioned well for only 2 days, 4 meals. After that, it started to stick everything!!
Believe me, i read its user guide more than 10 times before and after i started to use it, so many time that i can even repeat it without looking at it.
i even checked all the reviews on Amazon, making sure i got all the information i need to treat it right.
But sadly, it just sticks.

I'm not green, but this pan is...all over the sides and bottom. It's a nice pan actually. Nothing like all clad level niceness, but it's got a little bit of weight to it. It has a pretty cheap plastic handle. Nothing will stick to this pan. I can barely use butter or oil in it because it beads up and won't coat the pan...lol. I searched for other pan options from them, this is apparently the only thing they sell as a company, this green pan. You should buy it, we use it a lot.Berndes SignoCast Classic 9-1/2-Inch Skillet

For three reasons:1) The no-stick surface is suberb, in most cases you do not even need spray oil yet things just slide right out.DuPont makes 3 teflon coatings and only the top can be labeled DuPont and this one is the first I have seen.By the way even with no stick you still get some frond.
2) They recommend that after use you immediately run it under cold water in order to best preserve the coating! I held my breath and did it. Bravo, seems like nothing can warp that thick cast aluminum.
3) It survives a 450 degree oven.Saute salmon or steak to get a thin crisp crust and then shove into that hot oven to finish it off. This allows you to maintain even doneness throughout the meat's thickness.
No other brand will be bought for my kitchen and that even includes Swiss Diamond, the previous best.

Texsport Cast Iron Fish Fry/Large Casserole Pan
Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set
The bottom of these pots and pans is very thick which make these amazing. There are no hot spots. It was amazing to watch water boil in them and have even sized bubbles form everywhere in the bottom. It is very forgiving if you have the burner too hot as food won't burn in specific spots.
These are dishwasher and metal utensil safe. I use them in the dishwasher all the time but I don't want to use metal utensils in them.
When I first got them, I hand washed them and carefully put them in a metal drying rack. This was a bit of a mistake because it faintly scratched the outside. So I don't want to use metal utensils just in case (I got a plastic dish rack shortly after!).
These are extremely nonstick but I'm not a fan of the circular grooves in them. It makes stirring sauce in them strange as the spoon runs over the grooves. And I think the the nonstick quality is good enough not to need these grooves.
The sides aren't very thick but the bottom (base) is what matters for heat distribution and they (bases) are the best I have ever used. They work with all sources of heat (induction etc).
Another thing I'm not a fan of is the end of the handles. They have a depression on the bottom side so one can hang them. When I put them in the dishwasher (upside down) they get full of water. I'm not sure why they didn't just punch the hole completely though like they did with the anolon sets.
So while both anolon and circulon sets are the best I have ever used I would actually pick these circulons because they work with any heat source and are dishwasher safe. This is good value for money cookware. It is ideal for induction cooktops, where choice at any reasonable price is limited.
It is important to note that this is NOT like 'normal' non-stick. When frying, you need to cook with a small amount of olive oil do that and the pans work great and will easily wipe clean. If you use butter or try to cook high-fat burgers, the non-stick coating will be compromised. I keep one pan for those tasks: it comes clean with a non-stick scourer, but it can take some work.
The main difference between Symmetry and Infinite Circulon is the handles: the coatings are identical. Symmetry handles have a plastic insert whereas the Infinite range were all metal. Main problem is that these new handles are shorter which makes them harder to balance with the larger, heavier pans. They are also not as well shaped. I never found that the all-metal handles got hot, so I don't understand why they needed to be changed. My advice would therefore be don't buy these. Get Circulon Infinite while you still can it's also clearance priced, so you will get significant savings as well as more comfortable pans.

This is the best cookware set I've ever owned. I actually have this set in a 13 piece that was offered through Costco for a short period of time. My old, much more expensive, Calphalon basically was wrecked after 5 years. The true test of cookware is how it holds up in the homes of lazy, sloppy people. Not that I consider myself lazy and sloppy, but today I was boiling dark purple wooden popsicle sticks for a craft project for my kids. Forgot about the sticks and the water boiled away, leaving the wooden sticks to burn on the bottom of the pan. Once the burning campfire smell drew me back to the kitchen, I lifted the sticks out and let the pan soak for a couple of minutes, brushed it out with the dish brush and there was not even a mark or finish problem at all. I was absolutely amazed I mean, it was burning WOOD on the bottom of a pan on high heat! This is the second time I've had the empty pan sitting on a hot burner and the pan was fine. I recall that this"feature" was on another review I read before I purchased the set... that alone sold me.I cook constantly, and my food is perfect everytime. Cooks very evenly... cleanup is fast and you can even just pop them in the dishwasher. The handles are wonderful and stay cool. AND, you can use metal utensils on these things! Need I say more?

I have an older induction rangetop so I did a fair amount of research for a set that was both "stick-free" and induction safe.I have had Circulon pans in the past and have liked their cookware. When I purchased the 11 piece set I was extremely please with the packing (very secure and each piece isolated so not denting or scratching).Oh, I also purchased the 8 inch skillet the month before so that I could actually work/cook with the pans before buying the whole set just to see if I liked it and that it would work on my induction top.I was very please with the performance, liked the weight, very nice handles and heated evenly with no problems on my rangetop.I was so excited when my set arrived that I put it to work right away.Image my total surprise when the 1-1/2 qt and 2 qt saucepans did not work on my induction top!If you want to test this cookware out like I did, I would suggest you buy a small saucepan first.I have written to Meyers Corp about the problem but have not received an answer yet.Amazon was great about the whole thing because I wrote to them about the small pan difficulty altho I loved all of the rest of the set. They gave me a 40% discount and I still use the pans with an induction disk. Thanks Amazon!Want Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set Discount?

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-Quart Saucier Pans
Like all Le Creuset cookware:
* The exterior must be cleaned each time they're used or the bottom is a bear to clean.I spent an hour cleaning one pot that I neglected to clean after I used it several times and food spilled over.
* Being made out of cast-iron, they're very heavy. Not recommended for those who have difficulties holding heavy objects.
* They're very expensive.
* Being cast-iron, it takes longer to heat the cookware. Not good for a quick egg.
* The handles are very, very hot.I found the plastic slip on covers to be useless. You have to use mitts to avoid burning yourself.
Pros:
Like all Le Creuset cookware:
* The porcelain is much more durable than other cookware or appliances since it is baked on at a much higher temperature. The porcelain is what your parents or grandparents used to have on their appliances and chipped only when abused.
* The interior is surprisingly easy to clean considering that it doesn't have stick-free coatings.
* Being cast-iron, the heat is distributed more evenly.
* These will last you a lifetime and can be handed down to your children and their children.
* You use less energy. I find that I have to lower the gas setting and use smaller burners.
About 10-15 years ago, I bought a large set of the more expensive Calphalon cookware. The exteriors are now disgusting looking and impossible to clean.Even with using wood or plastic utensils and proper cleaning pads, the stick-free surfaces now require soaking to clean. Some I had to throw out (at $200 each). The rest are in the garage waiting for the annual neighborhood garage sale. Over $1000 (on sale) spent for just one decade.Had I spent that much money 10 years ago on Le Creuset, I would still have all of the cookware and could have passed them on to my children.
I don't use this Saucier Pan for making sauces -I use it as a general purpose pan with a lid.
The interior is bright smooth porcelain and so far had been easy to clean. If something does stick (e.g., rice), I soak it in water and use plastic cleaning pads to remove any residue.
My only gripe with this pan is that there's a hole in the lid.According to the paperwork, that's to prevent some foods, like rice, from spilling over when bringing to a boil. That might be true but the hole is letting the steam out while I'm cooking.
The first time I made brown rice, the rice dried out and stuck to the bottom (after an hour or two of soaking, the stuck-on rice came off) because of the steam escaping from the hole in the lid. I used a gas range with a small burner and use the lowest setting.
I made a tapered wooden maple peg and stuck it into the hole. With the hole plugged I made rice and some rice still stuck. The third time, I turned the heat off after 30 minutes. The residual heat from the cast iron continued to cook the rice with no sticking and the handle wasn't so hot to touch.
I wish they had an option to choose a lid with or without a hole. That's why only 4 stars.
I now have just several Le Creuset cookware items and probably won't buy any more -I have all that I need. It isn't necessary to buy 15, 20 or 30 piece sets and figure out where to store them all.
Although the initial cost is much higher, the cost/year is much lower and they'll never ever wind up in the landfill. Buy one at a time as you can afford them or as gifts. Even though I'mfussy to a fault, I haven't returned any Le Creuset cookware.I love them.

Obviously, Le Creuset stuff is beautiful and sure to impress your fellow kitchen snobs. But does it cook well?My wife and I have given this pan a good workout, and are very pleased with the results.Heat is distributed and retained beautifully, and you get the benefits of cast-iron cookware without the hassle of seasoning (and rusting when you accidentally leave some moisture on the pan).Cleanup is a breeze with this pan, as well.Yes, you will pay more for this pan -but it is well worth the money if you are serious about cooking. There is a reason why top chefs swear by Le Creuset. And if you are just starting out buying cookware, it's pointless to waste money on inferior cookware that you will just have to replace a few years later -make the investment now, and it will pay off in the long run.Want Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-Quart Saucier Pans Discount?
I'm turning into quite the fan for Le Creuset cookware this is the second piece I have, and it's fantastic. I use it for oatmeal and for rissoto. It is much easier to control the heat in it than any other pan, so I rarely burn things now. It is amazingly easy to clean. The only down side is that it is heavy (being cast iron) and I have to use 2 hands to pour from it.Circulon Cookware Espree 10-Piece Hard Anodized Set
A feature that interested me when I bought it but wasn't quite convinced it would work are all of the grooves/rings on the bottom interior of all of the cookware. They are supposed to reduce utensil contact with the non-stick surface, and at the same time create more even heating of the food.I've found both of these claims to be true. Also, the instructions said I would not need to use a temperature above 5 (out of 10) on the stove top because the special design amplifies the heat.I didn't believe this at first but found it to be true too.I cooked Taylor pork roll on 3 (electric stove) and it was done in a few minutes, nice and brown, VERY evenly cooked, a bit crispy and very hot. With my last pan set I would have been using a 6 setting, so I suppose I am now using less electricity too.The only time I use a temperature above 5 is when I am using one of the pots and a recipe tells me to get a rolling boil going.
The only down side is that because it has a grooved surface, food sometimes will stay between the grooves, but this easily slides out when I wash the pan with soap and hot water, which you need to do anyway to clean the pan.
Also, I wish the set came with a 12" skillet. It does not, and as far as I know, there is no 12" skillet in the Espree collection, so I bought the 12" Infinite skillet. The only difference is that it has a steel handle, otherwise it seems to be just the same as the rest of the Espree collection.
Oh, and one more thing, the bottoms of the cookware are very thick, hard and durable. When my wife and I were deciding between the Circulon and Calphalon sets, we chose the Circulon because she thought the bottoms looked sturdier. It was 50/50 up until that point, and that's what sealed the deal for the Circulon.
I think they have a lifetime warranty too. It's a great set and I am very impressed.I recommend it highly.
