Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Stir Fry Pan
So why only 4 stars? I really would have liked a helper handle. My old pan had that. Perhaps they felt as it was only 12 inches it didn't need one, but even though it is well balanced, I do more than stirfry in it. I make lots of stews and sauces and when full it can be heavy. I also wish they offered a lid; even as an additional purchase. Still, it is one terrific all purpose pan.I am NOT a cook, OK? However, I recently started stirfrying chicken tenders with onions and peppers as a way to healthier eating. The non-stick pan I was using was a little worse for wear so I decided to look into purchasing a wok.
After looking at quite a few online, I chose the Circulon 12-in pan. It turned out to be an excellent choice. It is the perfect size for a family of 3-4. I had narrowed the choices down to this one and a cast iron pan that was highly recommended. I chose the Circulon because of the weight difference. This pan is lightweight, but of good quality and it cooks and cleans beautifully.
I use it almost everyday and highly recommend it.

5 stars means something must be pretty darn special, and this circulon 12 inch stir fry pan qualifies as just that, special. Start with the heavy construction, great shape, high sides to keep food from spilling out, a comfortable soft grip handle, and a hidden ring that you can hang your pan.
I've had and used mine for almost a year. I do not put any non stick in the dishwasher, no matter what it says. I use nylon, silicon, or wooden utensils to extend the life cycle of any non stick pan. Put a little care into this pan and it will reward you. After 10 months my pan still looks new, still completely covered with the non stick, and that is with at least 3 or 4 uses a week.
The non stick really works. I stir fry all the time and when I add oil it's for flavor, when I don't add oil I still have lovely non sticking vegetables, egg, and rice. The pan heats evenly, even on my electric oven. The flatish bottom fits on the burner without tilting and the high sides ensure that I'm not tossing food overboard when I get enthusiastic and channel my inner Guy Fieri and start shaking my pan all over the place.
For the longest time I went the cheap route, buying non stick pans at big box stores and complaining because they were cheap, well yes, they were. When I finally broke down and got a decent pan the difference in quality was amazing. I have huge woks for when I stir fry for the entire family, but for one or two people this pan is my go to, whether I'm simply sauteing eggplant and tomatoes with garlic, leftover rice and egg and bits and Pcs of leftover meals to make a stir fry lunch for one, or anything else I want to make in this pan. there isn't a lid but I just use one of those all size fits all if I need to briefly steam or cover.
I thought the circles in the pan might make it hard to clean or something, but it doesn't interfere with the cooking or cleaning at all. A great pan I highly recommend. I'm saving my pennies to buy more Circulon, although to be honest, for the quality and performance in this pan the price is very fair.

i just got this for christmas.i have other circulon skillets and the hi-low texture is the best, nothing ever sticks.have had the other skillets since last spring and no scratches at all and my son is a skillet destroyer but not these, he will have a hard time scraping these pans to destruction.they wash up very easy and i wish i had discovered circulon about 20 years ago if not longer....it would have saved me a lot of money replacing pans.like i said, i got some of these last spring and i have never had a skillet last this long without getting scratches and having to replace it.my pans just don't last long but i expect these could last for years.this stir fry pan is really big and heavy but not as heavy as the cast iron ones that are toooo heavy.i like the fact they are oven safe and i just can't say enough good about circulon.

This is a very lasting piece of kitchenware.
Since I bought 2 in 1994, I have used them regularly for sauteeing, for omelettes,
frittatas, Chinese stir-fry and other dishes.
These are about as durable as non-stick pans get, IMO.
I even learned to "flip" omelettes, daringly high in the air in these pans.
For the above uses, I highly recommend them.
All Clad Stainless Steel 10-Inch Fry Pan with Domed Lid
The Fry Pan arrived this weekend and decided to try eggs first. If something is gonna stick, it's gonna be eggs.I remembered to cook over amuch lower heat than nonstick and use some oil.I followed the directions and the eggs came out AWESOMELY(not even sure if awesomely is a word). The eggs even tasted better!!I am sold.No more teflon/non stick for this girl.
It is well worth the expense and extra couple minutes of pan warm up time.My husband even noticed the difference in taste.
I am an ALL CLAD fan!Next up.Fried Chicken. :)
It also cleaned up well.I would advise getting a nylon scrubby. It is very close to cleaning up like nonstick but a couple spots needed a little something more than a dishcloth.
This pan was for my mother, who is very happy with the purchase. It has significant weight to it...very well made.Cooks evenly, browns nicely, and cleans up easily. And you can cut things with a knife while cooking, unlike certain non-stick pans.Very happy.

This is a product that takes a bit of adjustment from other product use. My experience with All Clad is to use the minimum amount of heat to accomplish the desired result. These skillets do not need a great deal of heat to cook properly and with a low-medium setting, I have been able to get thorough cooking and browning without sticking. Additionally, a small amount of non-stick spray in the worst case (eggs), will help, without flavoring the food. I heat the pan to the desired temperature before adding the food and that appears to also help avoid sticking. A pot holder will avoid the uncomfortable feeling of the hollow handle design, and it also improves the grip on the pan. I also use a small amount of Bon Ami cleanser to clean the most stubborn food spots off the pan, but it is rare that I need this. Usually, a short soak in water with a little dish detergent and I can wipe the pan with a wet dish cloth to clean it completely. I think that the price of All Clad is high, even at Amazon, but, if you want this product, you will have to justify the price against the satisfaction obtained from using it. Otherwise, just return it if you aren't satisfied.9.5 Inch Blue Nonstick Fry / Sauce Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware

Cuisinart Dishwasher Safe Hard Anodized Open Skillet
I bought this skillet as a gift to mom on Christmas in 2011, and she literally uses it EVERY time she cooks on the stovetop, which is nearly every day/night. I have also used it many times, and I must say that I have never seen such a perfect and truly non-stick skillet. We fry rice in it and don't need to scrape anything out. Just tilt the skillet a little and 100% of of the rice slides right out without any help from a spatula. It's handled fried chicken, thick, boiling sauces and anything else you can think of that might normally stick, and no amount of scraping has ever been necessary for cleaning.
There isn't much else I can say about this except that it performs exactly the way it's advertised. My mom wants a second one of these and would happily toss all of her pots and pans for a full set. I can't knowingly say that this skillet will last forever, but it's still as perfect as it was nearly a year and a half ago when it was new, so I can't imagine it ever losing it's non-stick properties, or at least not in the next few years.
One thing I can't comment on is how the dishwasher might affect it. It doesn't fit in my mom's dishwasher, so it has always been washed by hand.
Considering the success my mom has had, you may want to wash it by hand instead of using a dishwasher, just because that's never been a problem for us.
And, of course, don't use metal cooking utensils when you can avoid it, and never submerge any hot pan in water unless it's your goal to destroy it.

I bought one of these recently at Macy's and I'm pretty unhappy with it because it is definitely not non-stick.Food sticks to it quite badly, even if I put a lot of oil in the pan.I have a very old teflon-coated aluminun pan with about half of the teflon worn away that has much better non-stick qualities.Weber Style 6435 Professional-Grade Grill Pan
One was a square-ish pan and the corners snapped and became unusable. A common problem with many pans; they are welded and not stamped or folded. The welds usually break due to the high heat in the grill.
My old favorite is a bowl style; it's decent, but the problem is the top is bigger than the bottom so there is not a lot of actual grilling space. As a result you either have steamed veggies or you have to keep stirring.
The biggest complaint I have about most grill pans is the holes. Either they are too big and things like cherry tomatoes and sliced onions fall through, or the holes are too small. Small holes have many problems: difficult to clean, too many and the food gets too charred, too many holes and the metal separating the holes breaks...etc.
This pan is the best pan I have used yet. It it made of one piece with NO welds; the sides are bent up to create a lip and give the user an edge to flip and turn food. Also, the holes are not actually holes, they are slits. This means that one does not have to worry about food slipping through the spaces; from time to time sliced onions get stuck, but not really a BIG deal. It works great for Portabella mushrooms though it is not just for veggies, it's great for fish. Another big seller is that this is stainless and easy-ish to clean. It's not going to be non-stick easy to clean, you will have to scrub, but with a Brillo pad and elbow grease it's not a big deal.
The only complaint I have is the size. I have a two burner grill (unless I can talk my wife into getting a new grill next summer) and the pan can be a little too big for this type of grill. This "complaint" is not that big of a complaint since I usually don't do veggies at the same time as the meat.
If Weber updates this pan, I would recommend making it available in a smaller size and upgrading the metal; it's a little light weight. It's not bad, a little more heft would be nice.
If you have a grilling fanatic in your family (even if it's you) then buy this pan. It's great! You won't be disappointed. Get this pan.
When I was growing up in the Midwest the outdoor grill meant only one thing, MEAT!Fortunately people are becoming more sophisticated in what they choose to grill. Now it is not unusual to find fish, shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, you name it, cooking right next to burgers and steaks.
The only problem is, of course, smaller foods can drop through the grill and onto the fire.I have purchased screens and disposable grill pans before and they worked just okay. When I saw this pan and how reasonable it was priced I had to get it.
I like the build of this pan, very heavy-duty without being too thick. The raised sides keep the food from falling off and makes the pan easy to carry. It takes a little effort to clean (I use a SOS pad) but that is to be expected.
I use a small Weber--the Q200-and it is just big enough for cooking for 4-5 people. This grill pan fits perfectly on it but if I want to cook both meat and veggies at the same time I would need a bigger grill.I thought that I would make this little video to show the pan in action.Thank you!

Best grill pan ever. Raised edges keep everything in the pan. Small openings in the bottom of the pan makes certain that nothing falls through. Big handles make it easy to move around the grill. I've been grilling for 37 years and this is the best grill pan I have ever used.

This pan saved our grill! We have a low-end gas grill that was given to me and my husband as a Christmas gift.No matter what settings we tried it would either burn the food or leave it raw. With this pan, we can turn the heat up to where it should be and the food doesn't burn! The only downside is that it is a bear to clean.Other people have recommended Easy Oven Off but I haven't tried that yet.

At the time I purchased this, the product description on Amazon incorrectly stated the dimensions as 14 x 11 inches in one place, and 17 x 11 x 1 inches in another. These are both wrong. When I received it, it stated clearly on the package that this grill pan is 13.5" x 18.5" x 1.5", which incidentally won't fit on my grill. I've submitted the correction to Amazon, but in the meantime buyer beware.Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Skillet
I wanted a good sized pan that was large enough to cook for my family of four without being too heavy or burdensome to clean. This pan easily holds four large sized chicken breasts (for example) and is deep enough to hold larger sauce or stew recipes. However, given is larger depth and surface size, it is not unwieldy to manage due to the comfortable silicone handle and its balanced weight. It is a quality pan with thoughtful details such as the clear lid, which fits snuggly, the stay-cool lid handle and the ease of its cleaning surface. I would not recommend putting this pan into the dishwasher, but cleaning its surface is quite easy and even if the surface is blackened or charred during cooking, with a minute of soaking it comes right off with a soft sponge and very little effort thanks to the non-stick grooved surface. I would highly recommend this pan to anyone who cooks for more than one.
When all of the skillets we had reached the end of their usable lives almost simultaneously, I zeroed in on the Circulon non-stick pans because I have a Circulon griddle which has performed superbly.I really like the contemporary look of this design, and wanted a skillet with a lid, which seems to be hard to come by these days.
I like the skillet. It performs well. However, the handle is not as well balanced, nor as well covered as I would like.Given the size of the pan, it could really use a helper handle on the opposite side, especially given the lack of balance in the one handle.I also think the base could stand to be thicker, as it heats up and loses heat more quickly than I would expect based on high quality cookware I've had in the past.

PROS
* Cooks crepes very evenly
* Heats up quickly
* Adjustable temperature control is great
* cleanup is a breeze (Except for the bits that leak over the side and stick to the plastic base)
CONS:
* tools are not very good. OK to get you started but not good enough for proper use
Ladle is 2 oz, I find that it takes more like 3oz for a proper sized crepe (with my style batter), so I use another ladle
Spreader rotating plastic tool is so so. It doesn't hold enough batter to make an even crepe (for me)
Dough rake is not good, it is uneven (bowed) so it spreads the outside perimeter too thin. (I have ordered different ones on Amazon)
My first time doing it I kept the thermo at 5, per the recommendation in the book, but this is way too hot for me. It doesn't give enough time to spread the batter evenly (for a beginner spreader) and the crepe over cooks.
I now use 2 which is perfect. The cook time is much less with this machine that my previous pan method, so make sure you adjust accordingly. The batter should just start drying on the top when it's time to flip, that takes about 20-30 seconds, then only cook for about 10 seconds on the other size, produces the texture my kids love.
**** Update May 2011
After many weekends of use this crepe maker is still going strong. I ditched the provided tools and bought a round dowel like spreader on amazon. I now make (almost) perfect crepes every time. It's also a party piece, I get our guests to try and make the "perfect" crepe. It is a lot of fun , especially now I'm so good at it. It takes a light touch. Anyway crepes are still delicious and crepe sunday is still a highlight in our household. Very happy I purchased this!

This crepe pan will produce crepes closest to size and texture of traditional crepes. After using a non-stick fry pan for years, this is a real treat to use! As mentioned in other reviews, the temperature setting recommended in the recipe book is a bit too high I cooked on 1 it seemed to give me a little more time to spread the batter. I had a larger rake already, so I cannot comment on the included one.
As a note, there is no resting time mentioned for sweet and savory batters in the recipe book; I would recommend letting the batter rest for about an hour (or as long as overnight); it will help hydrate the starch and settle any bubbles. This is such a joy to have!!!! Just plan on eating LOTS of crepes if you buy this:)

Cuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid Set
There are a few reasons why I ordered these lids.A good cook can always use an extra lid as some skillets do NOT come with one, would be one of the best reasons.Saying this, I ordered a 9 and 11 inch Paula Deen Skillet set and they did NOT have lids. They are excellent in every other aspect, but I prefer to cover while I cook certain items.
I checked through Amazon and I found these Cuisinart lids that were glass with a stainless steel ring for the seal. The lids not only aid in the cooking process, they seal in nutrients during the cooking process, they also cover the dish after cooking as well.If you have a sneaky cat, like I do, you know what I mean. What an enterprising soul.
These lids are a perfect match and the seal is wonderful. Those in search of lids for your 9 and 11 inch skillets, look no further. These will fit.I am very pleased to find lids that make a perfect seal and being tempered glass you can monitor your cooking process. The glass lid is perfect fit you don't have to worry about steam leaking all over the raised handle and with a quick glance you know how far along you are in the cooking process without taking the lid off.
An epicurean Bon AppetiteBought these lids about six months ago and have absolutely no complaints so far.
They obviously fit perfectly with the Cuisinart pans. They do condense quit a bit, but what can you expect from steaming food? I have always been able to grab the handles without them being too hot to handle.

Smart Planet BM-1 Brownie Bar Maker
I first tried it with a brownie mix, and filled the wells about 1/4" from the top that gave me about 12 brownies (2 batches in the machine). As far as timing goes, I see someone wrote a review in which she said that she baked her cake for as long as was indicated on the box from the mix; common sense should tell you that a smaller size produce will require less baking time...but some people just don't think.I looked at the recipes in the included booklet, even though I wasn't making them at the time, to get a rough idea of baking time, and started to check my brownies at the minimum recommended time. As you get more familiar with the machine, you'll learn how much time is needed for various different things.
The first time I used my brownie bar maker it was a little tricky to get them out of the pan, but then had an idea: I now turn the machine upside down (with the lid closed) and lift the bottom (which is now on top); the perfectly intact bars can then be easily removed with a non-metal spatula, and the machine is ready to go again right away.
I use a butter flavored spray in the wells for each batch; a damp paper towel is really all you need for clean-up.
This is a fun little gadget well worth the price. I'm thinking it's a nice item to use to introduce a little girl to the joys of baking.Enjoy the size of bars. Is not quicker than oven baking (17 min) but saves
heating the oven. Enjoyable way to have fresh baked goods in hot weather. Per my infared temp gun, this bakes at 350 degrees. Made excellent johnny cake bars with precooked ground sausage. Plan to make snack sized cake bars and freeze for later. Works very well.

This is great and works like it should but it should have a shut off timer, other than that it makes great corn cakes (got it for my Mom who recently starting makin corn bread muffins.
So you don't have to limit yourself to brownies.I just received this an hour and when I opened the box, I was disappointed. I had just returned a mini-muffin maker, and thought this made only minis. I didn't even want to open the box! I did open the box however, and am glad I did! The wells are deeper than I thought; definitely not muffin high deep, but still pretty good size. You can't see the depth in the photos, so I'll try to upload some. The top has an extra 1/2 or 3/4 of inch to let the product rise. I wantedto make the equivelant similar to a normal sized muffin for breakfast, but I had plans for other uses as well. I washed the unit since it smelled like manufacturing oils and even after I washed it, it still smelled a little. I figured it was the insides (I was right, and it went away by the end of the second batch). I refuse to own a machine that can't be thoroughly washed. I held the cord up and after soaping it up, rinsed it well. Sprayed very little non-stick spray and let it heat up. I prepared half a box of vanilla cake mix and poured it up to about 1/4 from the top of the well. The book states that the red light will turn red when ready, but will frequently turn on and off to maintain the temperature of the unit. That means the light does not indicate when ready, but I really don't think it's needed, since it bakes the cakes up so fast. The book states to close the top as soon as you pour the in the batter. Both batches came out evenly cooked. The tops touched the top plate on the first batch, but no big deal-just a flatter top. Poured 1/2 ince from the top the next time and the tops had risen nicely on the second batch. The cakes came out fluffy! My kids ate one each plain, but then I split them open and put a little whipped cream on top. I cut mine open too and a portion of a sliced banana on each half. YummY!!! The cake size is about the size of a twinkie (I haven't had a twinkie in a while, so it may not be exactly that size). It may be a little shorter, but if so, then only by a little. I think eating one is great portion control; eating two is like eating an oversized muffin. These are so much better than mini muffins! I plan on using this a lot, so I will update as I go along. Good luck with yours!
