Revere 3514027 2-Quart Covered Saucepan

Revere 3514027 2-Quart Covered SaucepanI fondly remember growing up with Revere cookware during the '50s and '60s.It was sturdy and manufactured with care to precise measurements.Unfortunately, this is NOT the same product.Apparently, Revere cookware is now being manufactured in some third-world dumpster. The overall construction is flimsy; it bends and dents easily.None of the lids fit properly. The unreasonably thin "copper-cladding" was unevenly applied and looks like a roller-coaster ride around the sides of the saucepans.Revere needs to clean-up its act, or go out-of-business.

I ordered 2 of these 2-quart saucepans because I had owned them and liked them in the past.I only threw them out after letting them boil dry and turn into molten lava. The pans that I bought in September 2005 were manufactured in China and did not measure up to the past quality of those made in the USA and Korea. The interiors are oddly rough and the knob on the top of one of the covers has a sharp edge. These pans are worth the $15.33 I paid for each of them and not a penny more.

I was happy to find this item for sale, but it is of such poor quality that I am returning it.The bottom is so thin that the stamp shows through to the inside, and it is also raised to the touch. You can pop the bottom in and out with very little pressure. It looks much like the one I bought in the 1990s, but the quality is very inferior.I feel that the claim of "even heat distribution" is false. Disappointing for Corning.

All the good reviews seem to be from 2005 and earlier.

I was so relieved to find my beloved Revere pans online....until I got them in the mail. I have owned Revere pans for 32 years and my youngest pans are 12 years old. I wanted to replace some of the oldest ones, but after seeing the poor quality of these new Revere pans, I am sending them back. When I compared them to the pans in my kitchen, the new ones were lighter weight, thinner handles, and flimsy connections from the handle to the pan. So disappointing. These are a bad buy.

This pan gets the most use of any in my kitchen. It's got a good depth so that when whisking sauces and gravies they don't spatter over the edge and mess up the cooking surface.I especially like that there are inserts made to fit this pot, including the steamer which is less of a hassle than the old expandable baskets. The lid fits nicely even after ten years. This pan requires a little extra effort to keep looking nice, but a swipe with some copper/stainless steel cleaner keeps it looking pretty much like new. Some sauces with a high milk content tend to burn slightly at the bottom. This is a good basic saucepan.

Lodge Logic LMS3 Miniature Skillet, 3.5-inch

I recently decided to try all of Lodge's small skillets, the 3.5, the 5, and the 6.5 inch.Of all three, this is the only one that I will not be using on a regular basis. For my needs, it's just too small.Still, it serves a purpose.

I made this short video to show this tiny skillet in action.I hope that it is helpful to you!

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 6-1/2-Inch Skillet

This tiny skillet fits in the palm of your hand.I wasn't too sold on it until I found the ultimate use for it.Roasting garlic.

You fill the tiny pan with peeled cloves of raw garlic, shoot in some olive oil and a pinch of salt, and put it on low heat. The garlic cooks in the tiny oil bath yielding awesome roasted garlic, as well as delicious garlicy olive oil.

I'm buying these for stocking stuffers this year.

The reason I ordered this item was so I could prepare sausage, whipped eggs and biscuit sandwiches for breakfast on the go. These little beauties are the perfect size. Just line them up on the burner, pour in the eggs, and cook on low/med heat. The sausage can either be pressed into and cooked in the miniature skillets as well, or used the skillets as a press so the sausage will be the same size as the egg. Cook while you bake the biscuits. This and a small slice of cheese and you have a mouth full of heaven on the way to work. Sure, it's a specialty item and probably not one you'd use for everything...but then again that's part of the fun of cooking. BTW, love the garlic idea

I first bought it to hang next to the large skillet; as a joke. But then I made a sausage, biscuit, egg sandwich one day and..... perfect! BUTthere is only me. If you have a slew of kids than those non-stick baking rings may be your answer. They tell you it is only 3 inches wide, so don't be like this one lady who bought it anyway and then gave a negative review on how small it was. If you don't know what 3 inches is, than ask your husband.

The Vinaroz Valencia Series 12-Inch Non Stick Marble Coating Aluminum Frying Pan

The Vinaroz Valencia Series 12-Inch Non Stick Marble Coating Aluminum Frying PanLove the idea behind this product...but...there is something weird about the design.I have a glass top stove...this pan does not fit flat on it. It rocks back and forth and spins around! The pan looks flat on the bottom, but must not be.I used it in the oven to warm a ham over Christmas and it worked fine for that.To use it on top of the stove, as it is, you really have to turn up the heat.Wish I could figure out what is wrong with the design. I bought a couple of other fry pans from this company at the same time and they do the same thing :(

Art and Cuisine Stone Frypan

Art and Cuisine Stone FrypanWAIT A MINUTE. I haven't and this pan for long and have taken very good care of it.It's already started to chip and is missing very small amounts of ceramic.BOOOOO!I take back my review below from when I first bought it.Still much less "non-stick" than the Zwilling, but falling apart.Shenanigans!

ORIGINAL: My expensive first ceramic purchase of a Zwilling JA Henckels Twin Spirit Thermolon Fry Pan, totally SUCKS and it was EXPENSIVE! This taught me to test new pans right away. This pan is wonderful, scrammed eggs don't stick without any added butter or oil (over easy need a tiny touch of oil just to ensure your yolks don't break). It wipes clean, has a very heavy bottom that distributes heat evenly and is exactly as described by the manufacturer. If the ceramic holds up this will be my new favorite brand for ceramic cookware. However, I've read that over time some ceramic coatings doesn't hold up, we'll see, and I'll post an update if it doesn't.So far it's GREAT!A True Non-Stick Ceramic Pan At An Affordable Price!Woo Hoo!DON'T BUY INTO THE ZWILLING NAME, IT'S NOT TRUE!THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HASN'T EVEN RESPONDED TO ME AND AMAZON ABOUT THE LEMON I BOUGHT!

NordicWare 15040 Cast Aluminum Stovetop Belgium Waffle Iron

NordicWare 15040 Cast Aluminum Stovetop Belgium Waffle IronWow!Magnificent waffles (and I've tasted my share) first time off the volley. How, you may ask, those 1-2 star reviewers?Oil the waffler lightly before the pre-heat.They're right, there is NO such thing as a completely stick-free waffler out there. And for those of you in love with teflon, good luck achieving the light crisp crunch exterior that yields to a light fluffy interior possible with this waffler.Waffle afficionados told me I had to find an old non-teflon waffler on e-bay or at a flea market.Imagine my surprise to run into this at a nearby kitchen supply store.Good thing I had not read the Amazon reviews, I might have been scared off.So make their suggested batter, lightly oil, pre-heat, pour batter and 3 minutes later--the BEST waffles out there.Merci, NordicWare.

I purchased this waffle iron four years ago.

And, I went through quite a few batches of waffle batter until I could heat the iron on the stove properly.

But, after a while I was making the tastiest waffles on the block.

Once I got the hang of using this waffler, I got rid of my electric

waffle iron!

I end with one word of advice. Please be sure to grease this waffle iron before you pour the batter on the grids.

The new Nordic Belgium Wafflers are not the same high quality as previous models. Previous models include a temperature gauge and bake higher quality waffles. The new waffler does not hold the waffles to the outside surface until baked and the waffles end out collapsed and heavy. I used the older model at the same time with the same batter at similar temperatures and the waffles from the older model were light and crisp.

I have baked waffles in this pan for about 30 years. It still bakes the biggest most beautiful Belgian waffles in the world in four minutes! I am looking for a second one so I can make two at a time. Preheat about 2 minutes on each side. Flip the griddle quickly after pouring batter onto the hottest side. Bake 2 minutes on each side. Mine has a temperature gauge in the handle, which I love. I am trying to find that model, but it may not exist any more.

Waring Pro Induction Cooktop

Waring Pro ICT200 Induction CooktopThis unit is very fast at arriving at cooking tempature and seems to hold cooking tempature well. However the induction heating area is quite small and only fits a 8" pan or pot. So it's impossible to cook bacon or even a large steak.

I use it once in a while. Takes a long time to boil water, so use my gas stove for that.

Good for bacon and eggs, etc.So, good, but not perfect. I do like the size and portability of it.

Fissler 121 100 28 100 Crispy Steelux Premium 11.0-Inch Fry Pan

Fissler 121 100 28 100 Crispy Steelux Premium 11.0-Inch Fry PanMy wife bought this pan last year with the frying spatter guard and it is without a doubt the most useful pieces of cookware in our kitchen now.We use them at least 3 times a week to make the best steaks (we're big meat eaters) and chicken fried steaks. The bumpy bottom lets us cook with a lot less oil and as long as we don't overheat it, all of our food releases off the pan easily. We've been trying to eat healthier, so this has helped tremendously. We also just got an Intensa pot and it's incredible for waterless cooking.I wish I'd known about this cookware a few years earlier because we would have registered a whole set for our wedding.

I got this pan to replace some nonstick cookware. The manual says the pan is perfect for fish, chicken, steaks, etc., but for eggs and other sticky foods to purchase their nonstick coated pans. However, I cooked some eggs in it with a light misting of Pam and they slid out like magic. It did as good or better on bacon than the "teflon" pan it replaced.

Something about the way the oil and dimples work makes for a great fry-pan. It is two piece (not like my Demeyere work of art) and very heavy (not a problem for me at all) but still very highly recommended, a superior product in every way.

Cuisinart 55-10R Advantage Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, Red

Cuisinart 55-10R Advantage Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, RedI paid $49 for this set on a Friday sale, and at that price it's a good deal. While the pans are not as heavy and durable as Circulon Commercial, they are comfortable to use, they cook evenly, and they clean up easily. The lids are excellent. The two large lids are interchangeable and fit the 10" skillet as well as the stockpot and saute pan. (Unlike a prior reviewer, I had no difficulty peeling off the stickers.)

I am now looking into contacting Cuisinart about the set I bought last December. The first set we got started shedding its non-stick cover within 2 weeks.Amazon promptly replaced it with another one. Now, a year later, I have thrown away all items except frying pans because of the same issue.Even though this set looks good, it does not have the quality to last more than one year.

I once thought that I would buy a more expensive set once my children grew up and left home but now that I'm older they are too heavy for me.This set is light enough not to aggravate the arthritis in my hands and sturdy enough to stand up to daily wear.

The non-stick surface does a fantastic job and clean up is a breeze.

I bought this set because it was a good price. I did not think that I was going to be the happiest with the "red" color, but as it turns out, it is a deeper, richer color than the picture portrays. The pans feel nice and heavy (not as heavy as a much more expensive set) but very nice for the price I paid. The non-stick surface is just that non-stick and easy to clean. The bottom of the pans is the part I like there are no "hot spots" to burn my food as I am cooking. I do have a husband and teenaged son who are hard on things but so far these pans are standing up to their abuse. For the price, I would definitely recommend these.

Magnalite Classic Cast-Aluminum 11-1/4-Inch Fry Pan

Magnalite Classic Cast-Aluminum 11-1/4-Inch Fry PanI inherited the Magnalite collection from my mother and grandmother, and after 50+ years of hard use, really hard use, I only recently managed to warp the bottom of the skillet on my new Viking (flamethrower) gas stove when I set the heat too high. But I'm still using the skillet! This super heavy duty set cooks the most evenly and cleans up the easiest of any cookware out there.I despise non-stick interiors, and these gratefully have none, and with use are seasoned so well they never stick.I will cheerfully buy new sets for my grandkids and hopefully they will still be using theirs in 50+ years as well.Rice is perfect, browing meats & rue gravy is easy, roasts and soups cook evenly without scortching, and cleanup is fast & easy with a little steel wool. The 11 inch skillet size is perfect for fried chicken and browning meats of all types.Best cookware ever made, at a real bargain of a price!!

It's heavy, it mars the counters in your cupboards, it can't be cleaned in your dishwasher unless you want it to discolor. Also discolors in the presence of acidic foods, like tomatoes. If you ever scorch something, it can be very difficult to clean adequately. The pieces with the black handles can only go in an oven up to 350 degrees, so no browning foods in your broiler using the skillet. Did I say how heavy it is? It's heavy.

Kirkland Signature Hard Anodized Aluminum Roasting Pan Includes Rack

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick SandFlow Skillet, Bronze, 8"

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick SandFlow Skillet, Bronze, 8'Since I saw so many mixed reviews, I waited 6 months before reviewing my 8" fry pan. This pan is so beautiful it hangs on the pot rack with my (unused) copper ware. I use it 4-5 times a week to cook for 2 people. It is great for poached eggs and omlets, frying sausage or veggie burgers, scrambles eggs stuck slightly. I do not use spray oil, just a drop or 2 of olive oil, spread on pan with a silicone or nylon spatula. I do use a low to medium heat and hand wash. I would consider getting the whole set but I would really like larger pots and fry pans...my gas burners are large. I will get more ceramic/silica lined pans to replace the old non-stick ones for health reasons. This Earthpan worked great for me. Love it!

UPDATE after 7 months of use: My microwave oven died a month ago. I have been using this 8" pan as my "go-to" pan. It can get used up to 5 times a day. Sometimes I just wipe it out and cook the next item. As stated before, I usually use 1-2 drops of olive oil spread around the pan. The pan has no chips or scratches, so I feel it is wearing well. It is not (and never was) as "slick" as teflon, but I have not problem with it's performance. I still love this pan.

UPDATE after 13 months the pan finally lost its non stick qualities. Eggs stick. I still use the pan for eggs realizing some is going to stick. It is still great for a couple chicken breasts or sausage. Pan needs to be soaked now to get it clean and eggs are VERY hard to get off.

I chose this because it was so highly rated by both Consumer Reports and Amazon's customers.I have had the set of cookware less than 6 months and followed all directions for care.It has begun to chip around the top edges of each of my pans and skillet.Very disappointed because this is the first total set of cookware I have bought in all my years of marriage.Earth Pan II Nonstick SandFlow Cookware Set, 10-Piece, Bronze

KRUPS FDE312-75 Universal Grill and Panini Maker with Nonstick Cooking Plates, Silver

KRUPS FDE312-75 Universal Grill and Panini Maker with Nonstick Cooking Plates, SilverWell, this product makes great panini! You can use it to make just about any sandwich very special. If you use really fresh ingredients, the results are as good as at any market in Italy (that is where I got hooked on these). It not only makes Panini, but can be used to grill chicken, hamburgers, sausage, etc, and then throw in the buns before assembling for a gourmet treat.

I got mine as a Christmas gift and used it at least weekly for about 6 months till I moved, and had to pack it for a while. When I got it out of storage (January the next year) it worked for only 4 times, then just stopped. It wouldn't heat; lights wouldn't come on, nothing worked!

I called the local Krups repair site, and they told me if it was over 1 year old, throw it away and buy another.I was royally upset!Appliances that cost over $100 should not fail in 6 months of use!In the old days, a repair shop could fix anything, and they would never tell you to throw it away.

Well, I went to Amazon and read the many similar stories of short life, and sudden failure and realized I was out of luck. After the one year warranty expires, the repair places (who normally would just get a new warranty replacement from Krups and have it sent to you) won't touch it.

Having nothing to lose, I removed the single Phillips screw in the center of the underside of the unit and opened up the unit. The griddle surface separates from the stainless base once this screw is removed. In here I saw a device which looks like a resistor held in place by two small clamps inside a clear plastic tube.I plugged the unit in and tested the voltage across the terminals of this device, and it read 125V.I knew immediately that this was the problem, as it was preventing the entire unit from getting voltage.I disassembled the clamps and slid the tube off, then cut the part off of the two wires.

Looking on the web, I found out the part is a simple and very common "heat fuse", intended to break the circuit if the thermostat (located in the top half) failed and the unit started to melt down or overheat.

This device does not reset once the unit cools, but sacrifices itself. When it exceeds 240 degrees centigrade, it disconnects power to the unit permanently and must be replaced. This is the reason so many people have had failures.

Either the unit runs hotter than the designers anticipated (most likely), the current is too high (doubtful as the unit draws 1500 Watts, 750W per side and the device is rated for 15 Amps at 120 Volts.1500W only draws 12.5 Amps, so that is well below the 15 Amp capacity of the component), or it was a faulty component.Considering that these components are used in a huge number of heating appliances, it is most likely that the designed temperature for this component is too high. Here is an excerpt from the manufacturers web site:

"The temperatures experienced during normal operation, including expected temperature overshoots, will determine the life expectancy of the TCO. Nuisance trips can result if the thermal cutoff rating is too close to the temperatures experienced during normal operation (this is probably what happens!). Continuous temperatures above 200°C will cause the sealing compound to weaken and ultimately fail. In addition, as shown in figure 4, each thermal cutoff calibration has a maximum temperature overshoot rating (TM). Overshoot temperatures above this rating may cause dielectric breakdown of the thermal cutoff and allow reconduction to occur. See Therm-O-Disc's MICROTEMP® Thermal Cutoff Technical Bulletin for more information.

The safest way to repair the unit is to replace the failed temperature fuse.It is made by Therm-O-Disc and is a Microtemp model G4A00240C.You can find these on the web for about $6.00 (or free if you request a sample from Therm-O-Disc on their web site). You will need a crimp tool and some bare crimps to crimp the wires to the new temperature fuse.I just used some bare (non insulated!) crimp spade lugs and cut off the spade part (Radio Shack or any auto parts store).Do not use insulated spade lugs as the insulation will melt under these temperature extremes. When you dissemble it in the first place, take a picture of the insides before you start unscrewing and cutting. Then you will know exactly how to reassemble the parts. As the positioning of the temp sensor is critical, make sure when you reassemble, you do it exactly the same way it was (direction of the clamps holding the wire and temp fuse, etc).

As my patience was thin after speaking to the Krups repair facility, I took the unsafe route and simply bypassed this component (cut it out and crimped the two wires together). All works perfectly now.As I never plan on leaving the unit unattended, I am not too worried about the temperature fuse not being there (worst case, the thermostat gives out and the heating unit melts the griddle, which will drip into the stainless steel housing, short out the power, and blow a breaker.)I do not recommend the later solution, as the UL listing will be compromised.

If you take the safe route, you should buy a few of these temperature fuse units, as the design problem is not corrected by replacing the part, and it may only last a few months before you have to do it again. When you crimp the component in, make sure you do a good job (tight crimp), if you can pull the wires out of the crimp with your hands, you didn't crimp hard enough. If this happens, the poor connection will generate its own heat and cause the temperature fuse to trip.

Remember, all of these components are subject to very high temperatures, so do not attempt to "lengthen the wire" or use electrical tape, or solder to make the connection.Unless you have materials rated for 240 degrees C, do not use them in the repair. You can use solder but only in addition to a good crimp.

Well, I am back to making great Panini and didn't have to buy anything!I am a happy camper!Cheers.

Good luck!I hope this helps some people!

Best regards,

Wayne

Had the Krups model for about 3 years before it decided not to turn on one day -so to replace it, thought I'd try something different.Went with the DeLonghi CGH800 this time, about $20 cheaper.I loved my Krups, and initially thought I'd like the DeLonghi a bit better. Here's my experience:

*Krups always "sparked" at the outlet when I unplugged it. Not so with the DeLonghi.

*DeLonghi has adjustable heat, so, although I only used the Krups for Panini, I'm kind of excited about the options I now have with the DeLonghi.I'm inspired to try a burger or chicken! It also has a channel where the grease can run off -and a little cup to catch the grease. If you'd ever use the Krups for anything other than a sandwich -the grease would have no where to go.

*DeLonghi has wider channels on the grill plate -which make it a lot easier to clean up. BUT, this is also the reason the panini DOES NOT get as crispy as it does on the Krups.

*The Krups latch, meant to hold the top & bottom together so you can store it on its side, was flimsy and broke after a week.It latched when I didn't want it to -and wouldn't when I did.(A minor thing, but it got to be annoying.) There seems to be no threat of that happening with the big latch on the DeLonghi.

*The DeLonghi is kind of "chunky" -it takes up more space when stored on its side than the Krups. The Krups also has a slightly bigger grill surface.

There's my 2 cents.Happy sandwich-making!

Undoubtedly, the Earl of Sandwich never dreamed of these mighty little morsels that have crossed the ocean from Italy and are now found here in bistros and take-outs.Another good place to find them we've discovered is at home if you have this Krups grill.

Panini, as most know are delectable cheese and meat sandwichs (think prosciutto and mozarella) that are toasted on a grill, flattened to a slim configuration.

This Krups grill has nonstick plates on both top and bottom, so it's easy-clean.Very much like all of the other Krups products I've used it is well made no wobble (we have a waffle iron that appears to dance).

And, it's multi-purpose great for burgers, chicken breasts.

Kudos to Krups for this one!

Mine gave up the ghost after about 10 months of very light use (maybe used 15 times). It was purchased earlier so no warranty. I opened up to see if there is any fuse inside or heating elements weant bad. Turns out there is a thermal fuse to prevent overheating (I guess it is a double safety measure in case thermosotat fails). I called the Krups customer service to be told that to buy a new one. I asked if they would provide the fuse, they said no. I asked the cutout temperature, they said no. Being dumbstruck, I expressed my thinking when it comes to next appliance purchase, I am going to be remembering this. He says, "well then" and hangs up the phone.

It is a Radio Shack item and $1.50 each (443?F (228?C) Thermal Protector Fuse Model: 270-1321, Catalog #: 270-1321).

I gave one star because the life span and awful customer service afterwards.

I've been using this for two weeks and the panini I'm making are delicious. It's so easy to use that I never hesitate to make panini; all you do is plug it in and wait a few minutes for it to heat up. Clean-up is also easy because of the non-stick surface. My one complaint, and the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, is that the handle, which wraps around three sides, is not entirely covered in protective plastic and gets as hot as the grill surface. I keep accidentally hitting the sides with my hands and getting tiny burns. Now, after reading the other reviews, I hope that my panini maker lasts a long time and does not break or mysteriously die. If that should happen, I shall post an update. For now, I give it two thumbs up with a word of caution to guard those thumbs from getting burnt.

Presto 07046 Tilt 'n Drain Big Griddle Cool-Touch Electric GriddleI love making pancakes. In the past I would use two large cast-iron skillets for the task. I found myself constantly adjusting my burner temperature and I would always get a few very dark (or burnt) or a few undercooked pancakes out of each batch. Plus I could only cook two pancakes at a time; one in the center of each skillet (I like making large, perfectly round, 5-6" diameter pancakes.)

After much research, I finally broke down and bought the Presto Tilt'nDrain BigGriddle because I liked the enormous cooking area it offered. And I liked the fact that is was made of heavy cast aluminum and that it sat perfectly level (some griddles have sloped cooking decks to allow grease and juices to run away from the foods... NOT desirable when making pancakes or scrambled eggs.) And I liked how the griddle can be quickly adjusted so that it WILL tilt forward which *does* allow grease to run away when you want it to! (it has a grease channel and catch-tray along the front edge of the unit.)

My first impressions with this unit:

It's huge! 18.5" x 15" cooking area.

It heats evenly. My infrared (IR) non-contact thermometer gun showed very little temperature variation across the cooking surface once it was fully heated (I let the thermostat cycle several times -about 10 minutes -before I took my readings.) My pancakes verified this finding with each one being equally browned.

The thermostat is accurate. I set the unit to 350-degrees F., and it heated to 350-degrees F. as verified by my IR thermometer gun.

The raised lip around the sides and back of the unit is high enough to contain pancake batter and keep it from spilling over and is low enough to be completely unobtrusive.

After un-boxing the unit, I cleaned, plugged, and turned on the unit (set for 350-degrees F.) After a 10 minute warm up, I applied my pancake batter. As noted earlier, in the past I was only able to make two pancakes at a time using two separate skillets. The Presto griddle allowed me to cook 6 (yes, SIX!!) of my large pancakes at the same time. All six pancakes browned evenly with no hot or cold spots seen. Flipping the pancakes was a breeze and I used no oil on the non-stick surface.

I made two batches of pancakes, one batch after the other, and both turned out exactly the same... and that was "perfectly." I made a two batches of pancakes (12 pancakes total) in the same amount of time it took to make 4 in the past. For the first time my whole family ate pancakes together at the same time!!

So, in summary, the Presto Tilt'nDrain BigGriddle is well designed, easy to use, heats accurately and evenly, and has a very large cooking surface. Clean-up was quick and easy. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who needs a large griddle that cooks accurately and evenly.

NOTE: Regarding a few other reviews here, I don't see how anyone can rate this product 2 or 3 stars, faulting the unit because it's too large to store. I mean, come on!! It's a big griddle by DESIGN!! If it's too large for you, then you should have bought a smaller griddle! ;-)

I bought this griddle over a year ago.I love it.I can cook an entire pack of bacon all at one time, six large pancakes, or four plate size pancakes, 12 pieces of french toast, you get the picture. As far as I know, the largest griddle available.I use frequently, have had no problems of any kind, including the non-stick surface which shows no sign of wear. This is a big improvement over griddles and other non-stick cookware I've owned before.Yes, it does have hot and cold spots, IF you don't let it pre-heat adequately. It's big, give it 10-15 minutes to pre-heat.Yes, you have to get creative to find a suitable storage space.I fortunately have a perfect cabinet (tall, deep and narrow) in my kitchen, although if I didn't I'd probably have to use the broom closet, coat closet, or some other unusual space. It is also a handful when washing at the sink, since it's too big to fit in the sink. However, it's hard to knock it for being too big when that's the whole idea.If you want something easier to store and wash, you'll be cooking longer and in batches. If you have a houseful of kids, you'll love this griddle.Put it under your bed if you have to.

I purchased this griddle because the electric frypan we had was simply too small. While trying to flip a few pancakes in it, half of it didn't stay in!!The first thing I cooked with this griddle was therefore pancakes.Instead of the 4 batches it used to take, I did it in 1.Flipping the pancakes was mess-free and effortless with the nonstick surface.I have since tried eggs and also bacon.I love the tilt function with the grease trap.It definitely helps keep splattering down. The one thing you will need is space to use it as well as store it.I set it on our stovetop while in use, which works for me.

Highly Recommend this product.

Bought the griddle for a big camping trip and it worked awesome. Plenty of cooking space (200 square inch surface). I was able to feed 12 people at once! If you are looking for a large cooking surface with easy clean up this is the griddle.

The griddle has exceeded my expectations. I put it to hard use, for catered events at places without a kitchen (I know it's for "home use") and it is flawless, or nearly so. It does have that cheesy home construction, and the pull-out sides for fat draining purposes are not lock-able, but I expected those little flaws--as a light-weight large griddle, it is super. No hot spot/cold spot issues, plenty of space, i can actually do 2 things at once on it for hors d'oeuvres presentation. It saved me during the holidays. It's inexpensive enough that if I wear it out, i can get another one. Does double-duty at home, too for pancakes for the family crowd. I can make twice as many as on the stove top griddle I have. It's easy to clean, easy to use--a well thought-out product. I'd purchase it again without a second thought. There is no commercial-use product that can beat it that I've found, either.

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick SandFlow Skillet, Bronze, 12"

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick SandFlow Skillet, Bronze, 12'I love this large skillet, and it's amazing onstick feature.I also purchased a full set of the Earth Pan II nonstick SandFlow, in the Bronze color.I'm thankful that they're dishwasher safe, and have the most unique finish, inside and out.I've cooked breakfast foods, grilled cheese and formal dinners in this cookware, and it's all awesome and highly recommended!

Looked great. Pan was well recommended, including raves by Consumer Reports magazine. On CR web site, average reader review is now only 1.5 stars. See: Reality has now kicked in for me, and pan cannot be cleaned or used at all after one last omelet. Only got seven months of careful use. Looks were deceiving.

At first this pan was perfect but then 2 months after mild use it started flaking. Hopefully I didn't ingest too much of the teflon. A flaking pan after 2 months is unacceptable. And no I did not scratch it with metal utensils. I do not recommend this rip-off.

We have had this pan only three months and already it is ready for the scrap heap.

We have taken care of it very carefully but already it has several chips out of the finish and food is sticking on the bottom of the pan. In fact, I tried to fry an egg this morning and it stuck, even in bacon grease! Seems to me you should get more than a few months use out of a skillet before having to throw it away. We really feel ripped off.

No salt no nothing. Or, add slices of tomatoes to best revive the tomato antioxidants(not your stupid vitC or E, but the red pigment that is exclusive to tomatoes, and very red, very non sweet tomatoes at that). Wanna know why? 1. taste amazing--all the Chinese eat tomatoes and egg stir fry for life, although they add sugar most of the time and that's bad for the pigment。 2, egg has 10% fat, the red pigment is fat soluble. 3. egg and tomatoes match up very well due to complimentary nutrients.

And, as always, from Amore' flamekiss series, u get 0% washing need, 1000% speed, 1000% taste, 0% overburn, 1000% perfect browning. U can let the egg sit there throughout, wait a few minute and done. Or, wait 2 minute and turn, 1 more minute, and done.

Looking for a healthy nonstick pan, I chanced across this while looking for Oteri and other rated pans from Consumer Reports.I decided to try this out because I liked the manufacturing process of this new company and was intrigued by other reviewers.I know this is dishwasher safe, but I don't think I would ever bother with the dishwasher, since after cooking everything comes off so easily and completely it would be overkill. The pan is quite solid and does take a little longer to heat than the cheaper Teflon one I had had, but once it started to cook my egg, without any fat in the well at all, it did so quickly, evenly, and completely.I wondered about turning the egg, but I experimented, and using either a rubber spatula or wooden spoons, it slides up and flips in one piece. No need to get under and scrape.I also wanted this to be able to cook bison burgers and crab cakes. The wells are not very deep, and as I am trying to reduce portion sizes, I thought this would be perfect.I am glad I bought this pan and would recommend it as a gift to anyone trying to cook without added fat.

Lodge SCRAPERPK Durable Polycarbonate Pan Scrapers, Red and Black, 2-Pack

Lodge SCRAPERPK Durable Polycarbonate Pan Scrapers, Red and Black, 2-PackThese little bastages come in very handy when it's time to clean your cast iron pans.If you've ever just simply fried a hamburger and got a good searing going, you'll often leave a little bit of what I like to call (and eat) "grill-scrapin's" and they can really glue into your cast iron cookware no matter how seasoned.I use the Lodge nylon brush on my cast iron cookware and most of the time that's all I need. But if you've got bits of food that are in love with your pan, this will save you a good deal of wear and tear on your nylon brush.Well made as is most of Lodge's products. Now I've gone and made myself hungry.

I ordered these when my PChef ones got lost in the move. They work great and I'm sure they were cheaper than the ones I replaced.Nice and sturdy (not flimsy at all)!

These scrapers are actually designed quite well as long as you don't use them on a more-than-warm pan as they will melt. I've had that happen to me as I scraped a pan before it cooled as room-temperature steak burn can be tough to get off.

You can scrape the flat of the pan, get the corners and the walls easily because of this smart design. They should be a little bigger and are priced about triple what they should be. Frankly, I think each pan should come with one for free. I mean, you KNOW it costs nothing to make a 3" x 2 3/8" piece of plastic. Oh, and that brings me to the dimensions in the description: "7.3 x 4.9 x 3.7 inches." I guess that is for the package it comes in or something. The actual scraper is nowhere near 7". It is 3" x 2 3/8" and less than 1/4" thick.

Honestly, I rarely use these scrapers because they are too small and just mean another oily thing to wash. I just use my egg turner to do the scraping and since it's bigger it gets the job done quicker than these scrapers can. On occasions where I actually need to scrape with some force, I pull this scraper out.

So, it's a good product that works well on warm or cool pans but for 3 bucks each, it might make more sense to just use an old egg turner to do this tool's job and buy a nice new egg turner for cooking. Or you could spend 6 bucks on a new hard (not flexible) egg turner as it will get the job done quicker than these small scrapers.

They really should be an included item with pans and/or sold at a buck each thereafter.

My husband ordered these little pot scrapers and I just couldn't imagine them really working. I thought they were cheesy and just another way to get a few bucks out of a sucker.Well, I was wrong!!

These little scrapers really do what they claim to do. My husband is the cast iron person and he cleans his pans with these little scrapers when something has been sitting too long and he needs to put a little elbow grease into it.

Here's a video he made on Lodge's 6" skillet. He shows how to clean the pan using one of these scrapers and then shows how to season the pan.

This is a great little tool to help clean up your cast iron skillets (and others, too!).I've not had mine long, but so far they work very well to scrape off stuck on bits and look like they will last a long time.

Matfer Bourgeat Black Steel Frying Pan, 11" dia.

Matfer Bourgeat Black Steel Frying Pan, 11' dia.I purchase it from Matfier website. I am very happy with the purchase. Finally I could cook meat in the pan without using pressure cooker. I never thought it is so important to choose the right pan. Previously I either used TEFAL, which I like and enjoy, but to cook meat is a challenge. And to cook sauce in black steel pan is such a pleasure! It does require cleaning and drying right after cleaning. Love it. The look may be is not the best, but food is delicious out of this pan.

I did try Calphalon and cast iron pans before getting this one.

I recently bought this pan and have used it and I'm very happy with it.First, this pan is HEAVY and solidly built. The quality is excellent--for example, the rim is nicely finished and the spot welds securing the handle will last forever. The steel is very thick, at least twice the thickness of an American made Vollrath steel fry pan that I own.

I fried a couple of steaks and this pan really retains the heat. You don't have to crank up the heat to cook a steak in this pan.

I highly recommend this pan.The merchant packaged it carefully and it arrived very quickly.
