Cuisinart 77-10 Chef's Classic Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart 77-10 Chef's Classic Stainless 10-Piece Cookware SetLet me preface this review with the fact that I am Italian and raised 5 children on daily home-cooked meals. The kitchen is the center of my home.So when my daughter got her own apartment out west and asked for a set of pots for Christmas, I wanted to make sure I got her a quality set that would last her for years and years.I knew what I wanted for her, but didn't know which brand to purchase.Non-stick was out (I have never liked it).The pots also had to be both dishwasher/oven safe, and I wanted the pot handles to be riveted into the pot.Off I went to the mall with my "specifications" in hand to look at the different brands and sets available.Boy was I amazed at how many there were!I took my time and examined each set.Not only did I look at the sets, but I also handled the sets. This is VERY important. Many of the quality sets were so heavy that I needed two hands to lift the larger pieces, and although I could lift the smaller saucepans, I had difficulty tilting them to the side to pour. Others had handles that were very uncomfortable to use. Then I came upon the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 10-piece cookware set.I was very impressed by the quality. They were heavy grade yet easy to handle. They also met my other specifications listed above AND they looked really nice as well. The price of $149 was quite unbelievable.I drove home and ran straight to my computer and ordered the set through Amazon.I got free shipping and hadthe set delivered directly to my daughter.I also used the holiday bonus coupon for $25 off my order. I was so impressed with the set and the deal Amazon was offering, a few days later I purchased a second set through Amazon for myself.I LOVE them. They cook beautifully on my gas range and clean up well in the dishwasher. The handles DO NOT get hot while cooking, which totally surprised me.Do be careful with the lid handles though. They will get hot if cooking on higher heat.I haven't had a problem with delicate foods burning due to the high thermoconductivity of the pans; however, my stove is a professional grade 6-burner unit.I don't know if that makes any difference or not.All I can say is this set looks great, cooks great, handles great, and sells at a great price. What more can you ask for?

After comparing major cookware lines, All Clad, Emeril, Wolfgang Puck, Jamie Oliver online, as well as in major stores, Williams Sonoma, Macy's, Linen n Things, etc.,I purchased Cuisinart's Chefs Classic set.Quality, features, and value could not be matched! The price (with free shipping), also included a kitchen tools set, a nice bonus.

Thanksgiving was my big "road test".The quality is outstanding! The mirror finish stainless kettles have a nice weight, well-fitting lids, classy sturdy riveted handles, flat bottoms that fit nicely on the burners, and stay-cool handles. They heat evenly.I do not like nonstick cookware, and by adding a little water to the pan after cooking, cleanup was a breeze.I put them all in the dishwasher and they come out sparkling.

I bought a chrome potrack and display them proudly. They indeed look and perform like very high-priced cookware. This was indeed a great purchase!

Any minor spotting or discloration from use, disappears like magic with the use of a small amount of Barkeeper's Friend powder.

I am so pleased with my set that I have already added to it; I purchased a 2qt. and 3qt. saucepan, and the 5 1/2 qt. saute pan.The saute pan is a work of art; especially good for those big pieces of meat on Holidays, and at $39.99, an unbelievable value.I plan on purchasing several as gifts.

It is also ovenproof to 550 degrees; something not found in the plastic-lid products.

You will not be disappointed.

The day after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday" is the official kick off of the Holiday shopping season. I have never participated in this event, however those 20% coupons to shop between 6AM and 11AM enticed me. I needed a new cookware set, since my old pots and pans dated back to before I was born.

I am known as the "Research King" & "The Negotiator", so yes I did my homework. I was going to purchase a non stick set for $300.00, however you have to "feel" the set before buying. Is the weight even, do the covers fit right you know what I mean. NOTE: I cook every night and have for years. I am not a Chef, but can cook a great meal.

Right next to Anolon at Macy's Dept. store, was the Cuisinart 10 Piece Classic Stainless cookware. It looked good, the weight was even, the lids fit great, but why so inexpensive? I researched Cuisinart and knew it was a good brand, so after playing around with the pots and pans for 20 minutes I bought the set! So this is what I got:

8" & 10" Skillet

1.5 QT & 3 QT Saucepan with covers

3.5 QT Saute with helper handle and cover

8 QT Stockpot with cover

FREE Gift with purchase: 2 QT Saucier

Extra Purchase: 5 1/2 QT All purpose pan with cover.

So, all in all, I got a 13 piece set for the grand total of: $130.75

Yes, I took advantage of a 20% coupon and then an additional 10% coupon. All 13 pieces are part of Cusinarts's Cheft's Classic line.

My Experience: (Rate by school grade A through F)

* Appearance: All the pieces looked great. The set looks as if it should be worth $500.00 (Grade A )

* Weight: The weight of each piece is solid and even. An important point because I flip my food and move the pans a lot while cooking. Note: These pieces do not feel cheap. Very good solid feel. (A-)

* Covers: The lids are a little light in weight, however they create a vacum seal when the heat is turned down. They do a better job then I expected. Normally with lighter lids you think they would wiggle and pop off, but these hold tight! (B )

* Handles: Solid Stainless steel, riveted handle. Solid feel and yes they stay cool. Also long enough to get a good grip. (A)

* Heat Distribution Cuisinart recommends cooking on lower heat. Yes, this is true. The aluminum bottoms heat quickly and there are no hot spots. Trust me, use low heat. (A )

* Sticking Well, these are not non stick. I used most of these pots and pans already to reheat our Thanksgiving dinner. Some things really stuck to the pots even when using PAM. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, stuck like glue. Next morning: Bacon stuck, but eggs did not. Go figure.... (B-)

* Clean Up: Water and soap in pan right after cooking. Yes this works well, but I have always done this. (B)

* Dishwasher: Yes, they are dishwasher safe, however after one cycle, the inside bottoms of a couple of pans had a purple tint to it. So, I have decided just to hand wash these for now. (Until I get lazy). (C-)

Final grade: B

Guess again!

The 5-piece starter set includes the 8 qt. covered stockpot, 3 qt. covered pot and 10" open skillet. This set sells (curently on the Amazon site on 10/01/2005)for $59.99. Add the following open stock items currently on the Amazon site:

-1 1/2 qt. covered sauce pan; $13.99

-3 1/2 qt. saute' pan with helper handle and lid; $20.99.

-8" open skillet; $13.99

-TOTAL $108.96 !!!! (If I added correctly)

There are some other good Cuisinart open stock values out there as well.

Not rocket science; just another example of Amazon's sometimes quirky pricing.

(9/24 update):There have been many price changes (mostly trending lower and revised in my example above) for this fine Cuisinart Chef's Classic line.Be a smart shopper and check the openstock (and starter set) item prices first before purchasing a larger multi-item set.

Ups:

-They are decent pans, looks great when you first take them out.

-They are sturdy and I use metal utensils to cook, I like that.

-The attached aluminum plate in the bottom helps spread and retain heat, if your stove isn't that powerful.

Downs:

-I like to sear and stir fry a lot with hot pans, so they will discolor a little with heat.Overheated oil will cause black oil spots on the pan that are hard to remove.

-You need the pan to be hot so that it doesn't stick, and you will need to use a little more oil than typical. If you don't do either of these, your non-greasy food WILL stick to the pan.

-The aluminum plate takes some time to heat up.

-The aluminum plate reduces the responsiveness of "lowering the flames" on your stove.Less control.

Scanpan Professional 10-Piece Cookware Set

Scanpan Professional 10-Piece Cookware SetWe've had this cookware for 6 months now, and so far we've been very happy with our purchase. The nonstick works great everything comes off with no effort at all, but you can still get a good sear on items if you need to, which wasn't possible in our other nonstick.I've even burnt things in these pans and it came out like it was nothing!I love that Scanpans are environmentally friendly, and I'm hoping that I'll never have to try out the return policy! So far I've not noticed any nicks on the edges, which typically is the first sign of aging. My only complaint is that the lids can get VERY hot, and with the smaller pans this can make them a little difficult to remove. However, even the lids clean up with little effort!

This cookware is great. We purchased our first set in 1991.Here is the kicker, the company stands behind the product.Just this month, Jan 2010, two of the skillets that are 19 years old started sticking. We sent them back to the company and they set us new ones.It doesn't get any any better than that. The company stands behind the Lifetime warranty. If you want to purchase your last set of cookware, get Scanpan.

We've always loved scanpans. All their products have very durable non stick surface unlike normal teflon coated pots and pans. We purchased the professional set 8 months ago as we like the steel finish to the handles and lids. whilst we have no complains about the actual cooking surface, the biggest downside is that the metal handles on the pots and lids do heat up considerably. the set came with cloth holders etc, but it's inconvenient to have to put them on each time. One of the holder actually caught fire on our stove from an adjacent burner. My mother also burned her hand once when she picked up a pan handle which was close to an adjacent burner which had been on. The lids will be too hot to touch if you've been cooking with it on, but the end of the pan handles are cool enough to touch regardless of how long you've been cooking for. Bottom line is if you have metal handles/lids, it will conduct heat.

I learned from TV news that the traditional non-stick Teflon coating cookware can break down under heat or scratch off and cause cancer. Therefore, I have not been using them at all. I had changed to all stainless steel cookware last year. However, the food stick and can got darken easily (also cancer causing) and I have to use a lot of oil for cooking. I bought a few of this Scanpan fry pan about 3 months ago and I am happy with them. Last month, I bought the Healthy Legend Ceramic Coating fry pan and soup pot and tried it for 2 weeks. The Healthy Legend cookware seems to be even better made and the ceramic coating is even better. The Healthy Legend had a German made ceramic coating call Weilburger Greblon. Compare to the Scanpan's ceramic titanium coating, they are about the same for cooking, cleaning, durability. The Healthy Legend's coating is gray color. It is no problem to me but it is not traditional black color. The color didn't change during my use. I think you can do no wrong using either brand. However, I am not sure if titanium have small health issue. However, if I don't try to scratch the coating off, it should be pretty good. The coating for both are much more resistance to scratch off than Teflon. I found on the Internet the following information (Effects of overexposure to titanium powder: Dust inhalation may cause tightness and pain in chest, coughing, and difficulty in breathing. Contact with skin or eyes may cause irritation. Routes of entry: Inhalation, skin contact, eye contact.

Carcinogenicity: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has listed titanium dioxide within Group 3 (The agent is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans.)

Read more:

For now, I have total 3 Scanpans and 3 Healthy Legend ceramic coating cookwares. The Healthy Legend seems to be slightly better and cheaper. I will give you updates after a few more months.

Let me count the ways I love this product!!!

Full disclosure; I'm a burner. About one out of three times I cook oatmeal I wander off, only to return to smoking blackened cereal. Normally that leads to soaking and scrubbing, but with the Scan Pan, I simply tipped the charcoal disk into my compost. The pan was clean. A miracle.

I researched non-toxic, non-stick pans on all the healthy-food sites I could find, and they all came back with Scan Pan as the best. I love the look, the feel (not too heavy, great handles) the vented lids, the quick and efficient heating (I'm sure I'm using less gas-not kidding), and the fact I can use metal utensils. But it's the cleanup that sends me. You have to see this to believe it.

I've told our daughter that I know what she's getting for a wedding present, and she's not even engaged.

Mirro A7979774 Get A Grip Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan with Glass Lid Cover Cookwa

Mirro A7979774 Get A Grip Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan with Glass Lid Cover Cookware, BlackIt's really good product. It fits to my pans' set, and to electric range I use. Through glass cover I clearly see the meal under frying, so I can control process easily. Teflon cover inside pan is strong and pan cleaning is very simple.

The pan works well. But the handle gets loose, and wobbles no matter how well you tighten the single screw that holds it in place.

This pan came with its bottom screwed up...did not turn it back cause I am lazy to do so.

I notice that on the heat, the teflon cover started to have small bubbles and after few times using it, the teflon started to come out...as I know, teflon could cause cancer. I throw it away. Hope to find a better pan.

I wanted a nonstick fry pan with a glass lid and plastic handle, and found it surprisingly difficult to find one. There were plenty that were part of sets but I could not find an individual one, until I came across this Mirro product.

It has performed perfectly. The knob on the lid is conveniently large, it has a nice depth, and the handle is comfortable to use.The pan is also remarkably light.

The instructions advise not putting it in a dishwasher, but I have ignored that, due to inexcusable laziness.I suppose I will get less use out of it as a result, but that's my choice.

I've had this pan for about three years.

It cooks well...not evenly, though. Mine warped not long after first using it, but I still use it to cook eggs since it's non-stick, and stir-fry. I must've done something wrong for it to warp, so I gave it 4 stars. I'm not sure if it's the quality that's bad or what. I do use it often, and don't have any other problems with it.

Nordic Ware 14 Inch Asian Spun Wok

Nordic Ware 14 Inch Asian Spun Wok***Update (11/25/12)***

Bought my second wok since the first one (of almost four years) had endured the toughest conditions. The coating has started to peel and it is time to replace. Please keep in mind people, these non-stick coatings do NOT last forever and especially if you do a lot of cooking like me. This applies to ALL nonstick products no matter what the costs. If you want something where you wouldn't have to deal with the problem then maybe consider buying a pre-seasoned carbon wok, but then again they involved a different type of maintenance too like spreading oil to clean the wok after you cook instead of washing it. I like to wash my wok clean. This time, I will try to prolong it by using lower heat (instead of max) and go easy with the bamboo spatula.

Still made in the U.S.A., only the stamping on the bottom is a bit different, and thank goodness for the Amazon promo credit which made the deal much sweeter!

(original review)

Before this, I was extensively comparing to two others: The T fal Jumbo Wok along with the Circulon Elite Hard-Anodized Aluminum 14-Inch and I finally nailed it down to the Nordic Ware. One of the main reasons were because I wanted to replace a $ wok by 'Invitations' that I purchased not too long ago from Bed Bath & Beyond actually it was like $ after rebates and promotions, so no love lost here.

The comparisons...

T fal Jumbo Wok: I was ready to buy this wok from a major retailer. As I was going through the bunch, I could not find one that was like new, either there is a scuff here, a scratch there or a knick in between, and as I went through and finally came to one that was knick and scratch-free; the helper handle was deformed. So I said "screw it". Although this wok looked rather good, but it just didn't have the right feel to it, also, it was a bit on the light side and felt kind of flimsy not worth the price.

Circulon Elite: The same retailer did not carry the actual item but I was able to get an idea from one of their medium sized stir fry pans. The product feels heavy (which I like) but I wasn't too fond of the high-low food release design. I'm sure it was a feat of engineer but that didn't do it for me, non-stick is non-stick, it doesn't have to be any more complicated than it is. I'm more into the long-term and durability of its material that was put into it rather than the fancy grooves. I'm sure it works wonders, but for the addition to its marketing strategy; I wasn't sold.

The conclusion: I wanted a wok which was not only identical to the one I replaced but can perform and handle my day to day tasks. I stir-fry, steam, braise, fry, saute whatever, you name it! The Nordic Ware 14" wok has exceeded all the expectations, if not, more! It was tested in and by commercial kitchens and NSF certified so I can count on its rigorous strength. Upon the first day of using it (unlike the one I replaced and used with wooden utensils; the non stick coating stripped right off of its initial use), I stir-fried some vegetables with high heat from my electric counter top and was able to achieve some nice searings, food releases with a breeze and it has definitely passed the test of time! Before I toss the other wok out, I kept the removable handle and it fit my new wok like a glove. Now I know why the other cheap wok wanted to imitate the Nordic Ware 14" Asian Spun Wok, clearly, there is no comparison!

Pros:

*Great weight and balance

*Premium non-stick coating

*Perfect size and depth for tossing

*NSF certified and very high quality

*Made in USA

*20 Year warranty!!!

Cons:

*Grip handle is a bit thin, but can get used to (I replaced it with the old wok's rubber grip which is more thicker and fits perfectly)

*Removable rubber handle is some work when coincide with oven, the good thing is I don't really use it in the oven except for storing afterwards.

Im in college and just got my own apartment, when i was buying pans, i picked some out, showed them to my mother and asked her if they were any good. She went to the kitchen, grabbed one of her calphalon pans and said hold this, then made me return the ones i had bought.... Well it was then i learned that the good pans are the heavy ones.

And boy is this a heavy weight wok. It distributes heat very well. The surface is great, it washes easy too.

I have had this pan for a couple of years and use it often.Still looks and performs like brand new.No rust, no stick, good size for a family, and holds heat.My daughter was over for dinner and I brought it out and made stir fry and she wanted one.I jumped on amazon and went through about 20 pans and found it.It is well worth the price if you regularly stir fry...

This wok replaced an identical one we've had for about 10 years. My husband is the family chef and he loves its large size for making big batches of stir fry noodles, chinese vegetables. We like the fact that it's a non-stick wok and that it's heavy duty.great for family size dishes.

Want Nordic Ware 14 Inch Asian Spun Wok Discount?

I bought this for its seemingly great value and have been using it for a couple of months.

First look: great materials, hefty. Two handles makes the wok much easier to handle.

The description is misleading, there is no "Polished stainless steel lids" included.

I really wanted to like it but it is simply not possible.

One major problem with the wok is that the bottom is NOT flat. It was already warped when I got it and it would "roll" around on my ceramic-glass stove top.

Everyone should know that any decent flat bottomed cookware should be completely flat and stay that way. However, the wok came warped(convex). It might be OK for those using gas stoves but I, myself, will never buy this again.

EDIT: I have reduced this 1 star because the teflon coating has begun to bubble and peel in less than a year.

It is occurring at the middle of the sides, where most food do not contact.

I am using a ceramic electric stove so I doubt it is because of the heat.

Either way this wok is terrible.

T-fal Simply Delicioso C1071164 Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Hard Enamel 11-Inch Comal Round Griddle Cookware, RedI was skeptical about ordering a non-stick surface griddle for health concerns, however, when I read the description of the surface that was provided with the packaging, I was very pleased. This product is next-generation non-stick, and is not a safety hazard in the the way the old-time non-stick was.The griddle itself is a work of art, especially the part that makes contact with the stove, so I hang it on a hook with the bottom facing out, and it looks like modern, Mexican art hanging in my kitchen.Plus, the griddle works great with my ceramic cooktop stove.

I love this pan!!!! It makes wonderful crepes, just what I wanted. I would recomend the wonerful pan to everyone. Seller was great.

All Clad 5110-40-GEN Stainless Steel 10-Inch 40th Anniversary Skillet

All Clad 5110-40-GEN Stainless Steel 10-Inch 40th Anniversary SkilletThis is the best skillet I have ever used. Read all the reviews and knew to use a low temperature. I think the real trick to using the skillet is the little pat of real butter. I have never spent this much on a skillet before, I was hesitant but now I want more. I think a lid should come with it for this much money but it is extra. Seldom need a lid for this small of a skillet but I would need one for the larger skillet. Worth every penny. My first test was fried eggs.If a skillet is going to stick , eggs will stick but the eggs slid around in the skillet without the slightest hint of sticking.I was tempted to throw on some cheese, maybe next time. Wish I knew when the sales were going to be so I could get them for a good price again.

One word of caution, don't think the real butter "spread" is the same as real butter, it is not and it will cause your food to stick. I don't know what they put in it but stay away from anything that is not real butter for cooking if you don't want a sticky mess in your pans.

Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle

Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch GriddleI would strongly recommend looking elsewhere, unless you are only looking to cook in the middle 9" circle of this griddle. There is absolutely no heat transfer outside this area.We eventually bought the All-Clad electric griddle from W-S.We are very happy with that. It's an excellent product, but way more expensive...

This griddle only heats in the center!!

The center heats up to boiling while I can still hold my finger on the edge!!

How is anyone suppose to cook on the sides of this when no heat gets to the sides? What is the use of the 23" griddle when only 12" are usable. Very bad design, unusable in my view!

We just purchased an induction stove and needed a new griddle for pancakes. This product stated that it heats evenly. It has a circular steel plate attached to the bottom which works with the induction stove but only heats the center.Center pancakes came out fine but anything to the side didn't cook.Pretty much useless unless you want to cook right in the center, then you can just use your frying pan!

It's a large griddle, but there is only one induction heat surface in the center of the pan.It should have two heat disks so it can be bridged across 2 burners, which would allow better heat distrubution. As it is, only the center gets hot and the ends never get warm enough to cook eggs or pancakes.Very poor heat distribution.Would not recommend this.

Want Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle Discount?

as per other reviews, product only heated where it made stove connection, heat did not disburse throughout unit. I tried on 2 burners but disc on bottom did not make enough contact to activate burners on my Wolf 5 burner stove, maybe they should make a griddle with 2 discs underneath.

Tramontina Gourmet Enameled Cast Iron Covered Skillet, 12 inch

Tramontina Gourmet Enameled Cast Iron Covered Skillet Gradated Size: 12', Finish: Gradated CobaltI love cast iron, know that it's heavy to use, but the flavor it gives your food is just amazing. I ordered this pan since it said that it was 4.5" deep and since it is 12" in diameter, the normal size of a chicken fryer, I thought I was in for a treat.Instead, upon its arrival, found that it was only 2" deep and completely unsuitable for anything that required depth in the pan whatsoever, particularly chicken. This pan is only for frying up something like eggs or pork chops.Forget those stovetop casseroles because this thing is so shallow, it would just spill over the sides.SO disappointed! That said, I'm going back to order one made by Lodge. They are made here in the U.S.A, in Tennessee, to be exact, and have been for 100 years.LOVE all of my other Lodge items. This pan is made in China.SO not into that either even though I was willing to make the sacrifice to get the cast iron enameled and in a deeper pan.

Tramontina DOES make some of their items right here in Texas, so be sure to check them out as well.I have other pieces of theirs that are amazing and I'm just a bit aggravated at Amazon for not describing this correctly.I recommend it for the even heating and overall good looks for the pan, but if you're looking for a deep pan, this isn't your "man." Recommend, sincerely, because the quality is quite great, but if you're having trouble lifting, this would be troublesome to handle.Filled, you really need a man to help, no kidding! My husband had to manuever it for me and I'm no weakling I play softball.

Thunder Group 8 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry Pan

Thunder Group 8 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry PanI bought these pans a couple months ago and very pleased with them. The teflon coating is excellent and they are easy to clean. The only downside is that the handle is aluminum and you have to wrap a pot holder around it since the handle heats up. I will buy more when needed.

This pan, and its companions, are restaurant-grade sautee pans with a very sturdy aluminum handle and slick, non-stick cooking surface. The bottoms are flat, heavy aluminum for even heat distribution.I added some rubber insulating grips for the two pans I purchased (8" and 11") but they are not really necessary in a commercial kitchen where everyone uses some type of favored insulating device from potholders to gloves, to dish rags.

Arguably, these are probably the best frying pans for the money.Don't waste your money on "brand names" and "endorsed-by" cooking stuff. All you get for your double, triple (or more) price is a thinner wallet.Restaurants do NOT use such overpriced stuff because they don't work any better.I've seen similar pans with brand-names sell for more than $150 and they cook no better than this pan.Stick with the simple things in cooking. The 8" model (the one of this review) cooks a marvelous omelet! The larger, 11" pan, which I also purchased, is perfect for larger dishes.Have you watched a TV cooking show where the chef "tosses" the contents of the pan to mix and flip them?Because of the taper at the rim of these pans, YOU can do just that with little practice.Impress your friends and family with your new show-stopping skill of showman-cooking!Many pans for sale here, and virtually ALL of the expensive pans, do NOT have this taper. This makes it more difficult to flip your dishes.

I guarantee that you'll love these pans.If memory serves me, I paid only $6 for this pan.

And yes, I am a former chef. But I am not Anthony Bourdain I don't consume prodigious amounts of alcohol. And I am not nearly so skilled as Tony. But I continue to cook for my family and friends and use this type of pan almost exclusively. They last several years easily. And at $6, you can replace them when needed. My last 8" pan lasted 7 years.

Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Induction Ready Premium Cookware with Lid

Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Induction Ready Premium Cookware SaucePan with Cover 3-QuartI bought this 6.5 Quart Saucepan to go along with an induction cooktop by the same company. To test it out though I tried it with cubed chicken breast on an electric stove, which in lesser quality pans usually causes hotspots and results in some chicken underdone, some overdone. I was impressed that the Duxtop pan heated evenly and the chicken was consistently cooked over the entire surface of the pan. When it came time to add a sauce and up the heat for reduction, it also performed well but I did need to watch the heat as not to have anything stick or burn, normal for a new pot though.

The handles stayed pretty cool and I did not need to use pot holders. This is a fairly heavy pan for the money about $27 as an Amazon Warehouse Deal and not sure I'd pay more than that considering the lid. The lid is VERY thin and does not sit exactly flush across the top of the pot; a little bend to it so it allows some steam to escape. Not a deal breaker for me. Attractive shiny finish is a plus looks great on the stove. Deglazed and cleaned up with very little effort.

Will update with induction cooking results.

Overall, so far, pleased with this purchase.

01/29/21 UPDATE: I have used this pan on the Duxtop Induction Cooktop to create an Asian stir fry with noodles. The pan heated quickly at the default setting which is 5; I raised the heat in increments to 10 and used peanut oil to help avoid smoking. It seared the chicken very quickly with barely any sticking. Some bits did begin to brown and coat the bottom of the pan. As I added four tablespoons of Thai fish sauce the brown bits quickly released and the pan deglazed very easily. The rice noodles did not stick until the very end when I allowed them to sit just a little too long while getting plates. Once the pan was empty I added a cup of water to it while it was still warm and the remaining noodles came loose easily. Cleanup was quick and only required a scrubbie sponge.

I bought this with duxtop cooktop because we are not sure if the cookware we already have can use on induction cooktop. To our surprise, the pan we received is a heavy duty stainless steel pan, the steel is much thicker than all the other cookwares we have. It works great on my induction cooktop and my electric burner. And I am pretty sure it will last forever.

Nicely made, even heating. Only negative is that the handle is too round in cross-section, making it hard to pour from the saucepan one-handed. Nevertheless a great value.

I love so much my Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Sauce pan! It's very well built, the quality is over my expectation frankly. I want a multiclad or allclad cookware for a long time, many friends owned this kind of cookware and can not stop raving about them. They are the permanent solution to get rid of Teflon cookware. But I think the all clad multi-ply stainless steel cook wares are expensive for me. Now, I feel I'm lucky to find my Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Sauce pan, I was suspicious about the quality, so just ordered one sauce pan to see if everything matched my expectation. I am looking forward to add more to my kitchen collection to replace my old cookware.

seemed like a good deal and the reviews were favorable.Pot actually looks and feels pretty good for the price. The lid is thin, poor quality metal that does not even fit the pot correctly. It also had dents and bends along the edge. The handle on the lid is not even centered.this is very cheap but so was the price.I'll just use a lid from another pot I already own.

Simply Calphalon 12-Inch Nonstick Covered Omelette Pan

Simply Calphalon 12-Inch Nonstick Covered Omelette PanI bought another pan, made in Germany, that I returned because the handle would not stay attached to the pan. Too bad because I liked the fact that it had a porcelain coating. However, this one is better built by a whole order of magnitude. It's a delight to use and even to look at. You will not be disappointed by the fine construction of this pan: handles on the pan and top are never going to come loose. The finish and workmanship is beyond compare. The nice long length and angle of the handle make wielding it very easy for my little wife (I'm very polite around her when she's holding it). As far as the nonstick finish goes, we (like everyone I know) have had trouble with the stuff coming loose or scratching. Therefore, since buying this one--and because the nonstick finish REALLY works and nothing sticks to it--we only wash it out using our hands on it. Nothing even as abrasive as a rag. As far as what we use when cooking, we only use a very blunt-edged soft plastic spatula. We've only had this a few months but the nonstick finish still looks like new.

Having had several pans over the last ten years, I can say that we both like this one the best.

America's Test Kitchen really does a great job reviewing products. I bought this because of the review and am very pleased. Great price and comes with the glass lid. Cooks eggs, potatoes, fish and steaks very well. A+

It's just what I needed big enough to fit larger meat pieces, non sticky, right weight and cover fits good (believe me, it was a problem with other pans I got before).

Highly recommended.

Norpro 9.5 Inch Nonstick Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg Poacher

Norpro 9.5 Inch Nonstick Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg PoacherThis is a very nice product. The only complaint is that the cups that hold the eggs are molded into the pan.Our last poacher had removable cups with a little tab-like handle. This made it much easier to remove the eggs.

I've tried other egg poachers, but none of them are as good as this. It is well made, sturdy and gives perfect results every time I use it ...which is often. I purchased the Nordic Non-stick 10" egg poacher. A huge mistake, it began losing the non-stick coating after the first use. It became unusable after using it a few times. The eggs cooked unevenly and stuck to the surface even when I used Pam spray or butter. Get this product instead and you will be pleased. I hope this helps.

This poacher works very well and is far superior to any microwave poacher. However, I have noticed after only a couple months use that the bottom of the pot is starting to rust.Does not affect the functionality, but wonder about its durability/lasting.

I've had this pan just over 3 months and have only used it a few times. Already the finish is coming off the bottom of the skillet. It is coated with a very thin layer of nonstick coating, which is not durable at all and not high quality. I have always washed it by hand, not in the dishwasher, so it hasn't been exposed to harsh conditions, other than boiling water on the stovetop. Other than that, the poachers work well, don't stick, and so far are not starting to peel.

As devotees of poached eggs, we have tried a number of poachers. This is the best ever. We use a bit of sprayed oil and have never had trouble with with sticking eggs or clean up. The egg holding tray is up a bit higher above the bottom of the pan than most poachers, which we like. While we were not especially interested in having to buy a whole pan, etc., in this case, we are very glad we did! Enjoy!

Calphalon 2-pc. Unison Nonstick Lid Set.

Calphalon 2-pc. Unison Nonstick Lid Set.I bought these to use with a warehouse deal item on an 8" and 10" fry pan set. These are very nice, sturdy lids.Unfortunately, the fry pans were 8" and probably 10-1/4" as the lid was slightly smaller than the fry pan but the lid did measure 10".I will keep these as I can use them with other pans. They are nicely made and I like the glass lid to see what's cooking in the pan.

The lids fit wonderfully and I love that I can see through them.Unfortunately one was damaged at the weld and that was a disappointment. It isn't severe enough to warrant sending back but it keeps me from giving the product 5 stars.

Yep... Glass lids. They are transparent. Much more transparent than Obama and the liberal leaning propaganda machine that continues to get chills up their legs for this horrible president.
