Culinary Institute of America Masters Collection 10" Sauté Pan

Culinary Institute of America Masters Collection 10' Sauté PanPurchased this recently and after two meals I already know it's the best sautee pan I've ever owned. It's weighty but not unwieldy, feels great, and spreads heat perfectly. It's also already responsible for the best omelette I've ever made and is in immediate full use as it's a huge upgrade from "the usual". With a lifetime warranty, I doubt I'll ever own another sautee pan.

I recently started getting serious about cooking and decided it was time to upgrade my cookware. After doing considerable research I was settled on allclad. I am glad i went to a store and picked up the pan first. after picking up the allclad pan i felt it was a quality pan but the handle was quite uncomfortable compared to the cia pan.

this is the best pan I own. It is a beautiful piece of cookware. It sits on the top of my stove begging for me to heat it up until the oil begins to shimmer and toss in fresh sea scallops until they are a beautiful golden brown.

It cleans up easily, heats evenly, can be transferred from the stovetop to under the broiler, andbecause it isnt nonstick you can produce a nice fond after cooking a protein that can be deglazed and turned into a nice pan sauce.

Buy with no remorse. I recommend this brand to anyone interested in investing in quality cookware. I plan on replacing most of my old nonstick with the rest of the Masters collection line.

This pan is decent enough. I have to use a LOT of oil when frying foods so they don't stick to the pan.

Lodge Color ECSGP43 Enameled Cast Iron Square Grill Pan, Island Spice Red, 10-inch

Lodge Color ECSGP43 Enameled Cast Iron Square Grill Pan, Island Spice Red, 10-inchI purchased the 10" Lodge Logic Grill Pan and the 10" Staub Grill Pan at the same time. The Staub pan is approximately three times the cost of the lodge logic pan.I find the Staub pan to be suburb in both look and feel, but both pans are entirely functional.Surprisingly, I found the lodge pan to have a smoother coating of outer enamel I was less worried about scratching my glass top stove when using it.The lodge pan is about 1/2" shorter than the Staub pan which may result in additional splatter. The cooking surfaces of both pans are the same size, however the surface of the lodge pan feels more porous than that of the Staub pan.

I found cleaning to be very simple for both pans.If you are having difficulty I suggest soaking the griddle surface in hot water and detergent for an hour. This gives a chance for the detergent to break down and release fats.If you want to prevent burning try cooking with temperatures no more than medium high this is stated in the included manual.Be sure to give your pan a good coat of olive oil when cooking I use the pressurized spray olive oil as it is far easier to get an even coat.

Lodge Logic Grill Pan Review Summary:

Pros (Compared to Staub):Low Cost, Smoothness of Outer Enamel

Cons (Compared to Staub):Height (Approx 1/2" Shorter than Staub Grill Pan), Quality of Cooking Surface Enamel, No Pour Spout, General Appearance

Overall Stars Staub 10" Grill Pan:5/5

Overall Stars Lodge Logic:4/5

If both pans had been the same height I would have given both a rating of 5.The rest of the cons are outweighed by the difference in cost between the pans.At it's price point, the lodge pan is still a very good deal.If you have a modest budget by all means purchase the lodge pan.It works. If you are concerned about splatter and visual appeal and have the budget buy the Staub.

I have used both griddles twice now and am posting pictures and as you will see both appear brand new though they have been used.

I have been attempting to switch to cast iron cookware for health reasons, and so when I pulled out a recipe for grilled romaine salad I decided to search for an enameled cast iron pan instead of going with cook's illustrated recommended nonstick version. This pan is an amazing deal, compared to the Le Creuset version at $83, and although I have only used it so far for the one recipe I look forward to using it over and over again.I bought an Oxo Good Grips stiff brush for $5.50 to use to clean it, and it cleaned up just as easily as any of my nonstick pans.I recommend it wholeheartedly.Happy grilling!Oxo Good Grips Kitchen Brush

I purchased this pan, along with the matching Lodge Color Enamel Cast Iron 8.5 inch Square Panini Press, Caribbean Blue (in island spice red), about a year ago.No complaints, it works as advertised with consistent results.I use it at least three or four times a week, mainly making paninis but also to grill meats when I don't feel like going outside in the weather and even for home made quesadillas.

I own lots of cast iron cook wear, all from Lodge, though this is my first enameled piece.Even with that I still had a bit of a learning curve which resulted in a couple phenomenal burnt cheese messes (the press is HEAVY and will squeeze out excess cheese/sauce/liquids, etc...), but everything cleaned up quickly and easily with minimal fuss.I've learned to use a bit less cheese and to concentrate it in the middle to help keep it in the food and off the grill, problem solved.

Quality of the finish isn't quite on par with the pricier brands, but works just as well and still looks great, especially considering the price difference.

Since most of the negative reviews cite issues that are more user-error than a problem with the product, here are a couple pointers for those inexperienced with using cast iron,

Use medium to medium-high heat and let the pan preheat for at least 5-10 minutes before use.Cast iron retains heat very well, but also takes much longer to heat up than the thin, chintzy pans inhabiting so many kitchens. You can preheat the press as well by placing it in the pan with ridges interlocked, but be sure to give it more time.Be patient, the results are worth it!

Use a good quality cooking spray, or a refillable liquid sprayer (I have this one:Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum, to get a nice even coating of olive oil on the cooking surface to help produce great sear marks and prevent sticking.

For cleanup use the same method you used to cook; add 1/4" to 1/2" of water in the pan and heat on medium-high to just before boiling.Once the water is hot keep the heat coming and scrub the pan with a stiff bristled nylon brush (I get mine at the local dollar store) till everything comes up.Works great on conventional cast iron pans as well.No need to apply a light coat of oil before storing, though, due to the enamel.

Cooking with cast iron, even when enameled, takes a little more effort than non-stick, but for me the results are well worth it.Enjoy!

I wanted this for so long and finally decided to buy it. Speedy shipping and it looked great! I got it on Nov 2, 2010 and used it the same night. I cooked chicken using silicone tipped tongs and then hand-washed it with hot water, plain Dawn and a non-scratch scrubber. My sink is cast iron also but I have protective mats on the sink bottom. All of that and it still chipped! I thought maybe I missed washing some spots but after looking closer, I saw that there were small chips on the inside of the grill and small chips on the bottom of the handle. I am so disappointed in this item. Have to see about a return. I have not even had it for 2 weeks yet. I have other enameled cast iron by this brand and they are awesome though.

Cast Iron Sizzling Steak Plate Medium #tbsp2

Cast Iron Sizzling Steak Plate Medium #tbsp2The plates work fine.My only beef if their size.If you grill up a 12 oz steak, that is the only thing that will fit on the plate. If I could do it over again, I would have bought bigger ones.Oh well. The wooden base works well with the plate. One other thing, and it is probably obvious. If you eat your steak from this plate, the knife will scratch the black off the plate fairly quickly.

This product was very cheaply made. The wood tray was already cracked upon opening the box.The product clearly lacks quality materials.

I was disappointed because the plates are very small.A medium size Ribeye or T-bone steak will hang over the sides and certainly no room left for a baked potato.

6 Mini Doughnut Maker

6 Mini Doughnut MakerJust purchased my donut maker a couple of days ago and love it. Definitely use a ziploc bag and notch one of the corners out to fill each donut holder (like a pastry bag). Do not try to measure the 2 T. they recommend. Fill each up but do not overfill (just below the edge about 1/4 or so from the top works). I sprayed the unit with cooking spray like "Pam" after each batch and used a wooden chopstick to remove the donut after cooking. The metal fork that comes with it could scratch the unit. The recipes that came with the instructions are okay. The spice one is the best. If using a box mix the donuts are too light and fluffy but they come out looking great with some icing and sprinkles. A simple recipe I use for plain donuts is: 1c. flour, 1t. baking powder, 1/2t. salt, 2 eggs, 2/3c. sugar, 1/4c. milk. Combine ingredients and beat 1 minute with electric mixer. Put in ziploc bag and you're ready to make donuts. I used the Vanilla Frosting recipe in the instruction booklet and added 1T. pureed strawberries to it yummy!! Frost when they are semi-warm not hot! Makes 24. My donuts cooked in 2 minutes so watch them closely. One side of donut is lighter than the other but if you're frosting it you won't notice. The unit cleans up nicely, when cool I just wipe with a towel.

We had an old Daisy Donut Machine when I was a little girl in the 70's.I wasn't sure this little machine had the quality to produce good results, but I was pleasantly surprised. The non-stick finish is excellent, so the donuts are easy to remove after baking. The ready light is very handy. The unit is small but makes six donuts at a time, so it doesn't take long to produce lots of yummy donuts (ours cooked in about 3 1/2 minutes per batch.)The helpful tip to put the batter in a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off worked great.

This machine makes baking so fast and simple. Easy to bake without heating up the entire house and the clean up is even easier! I would suggest investing in a piping tip. I just used a ziploc bag and then cut a hole but I think having a piping tip would make it cleaner. The machine does exactly what it says, 3-5 minutes and the little delicious goodness is done. Highly recommend this product!

This device is fantastic. Where else can I make a tasty and eye-catching treat to share with friends and family in 5 minutes or less? And minimal cleanup!!I did not encounter any problem with the bottoms being dark and the tops light--this can be solved by: 1) making sure enough batter is in each mold; and 2) just before light comes on to signal "ready," open lid and quickly flip doughnuts w/ a toothpick or wood skewer and bake another minute. Mine have come out perfectly each time. I'm not crazy about the recipes that came with the Babycakes Donut Maker--found better ones online with more flavor. BTW, I have bought 3 more as gifts...

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Ultimate Pan

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Ultimate PanIt just arrived so I have no comments on its utility or durability. But before I forget, I want to post the actual dimensions. That would have helped me a LOT if anyone including the manufacturer had bothered to do so.This is a 12" pan measured across the top.It is a 6.25" pan measured across the flat bottom. The sides curve up from there, to a height of 3.25".The handle is 7.5" long, with 4.5" of that insulated.

This is a great piece of equipment for many cooking tasks; don't let the "stir-fry" moniker limit your uses of it.In fact, because of its large flat bottom, it doesn't quite work as well for stir-frying as a traditionally shaped wok, and the nonstick coating, while durable, means you have to be a little bit too careful when moving food around -a true stir-fry should be stirred with abandon. But this large pan is good for all kinds of sauteeing, and because of the high sides its capacity is tremendous.Combined with the tight-fitting glass lid, one of the best uses of this pan is to make risotto for a huge crowd; it's also really nice for tossing almost-cooked pasta into a hot sauce.

A few minor notes: be aware that the pan is really very large, and quite heavy, and because of this it takes a long while to heat up.It can be hard to lift when full of food. You probably wouldn't want to use this for a side dish, to whip up a little sauce on the side, or to cook for one or two people. It can block nearby burners on a small stove. The silicon-covered handles are oven-safe to a degree, but they're not magic; coming out of a hot oven they will be painfully hot to the touch.

If you enjoy cooking, you know how useful it is to have quality cookware.Cheap cookware doesn't last, nor does it perform well (uneven heating, insulated grips that get very hot, poor grip design, non-stick surface that degrades, poor lid seal, etc). You can spend $15 on a pan that may *look* nice and seem like a bargain, but then you find in a year or two you're wishing you had a better one.

The best thing is to go all out, invest a nice chunk of money, and get a major cookware set by Calphalon, All-Clad, Paderno, Le Creuset, etc.But if you're budget conscious, this is a difficult thing to do.If you're like me, you buy your cookware one pot at a time, when you find a good quality one on sale.

I bought this Anolon pan at Macys when they had a one-day sale (got it a little cheaper than here, in store). The price presented on Amazon is actually quite good, considering the free shipping.I'm very happy with it.It is a substantial pan, that rivals pans from other makers at twice the price.

PROS:

======

* Handle rivets on pan and lid are top-notch; no exposed screws or rough edges.

* Handles are rubber padded and insulate well, and can tolerate being in an oven up to 400 degrees (although they will get hot--you'll need a pot holder). This is super for when you're pan roasting meat (brown on one side cooking on the stove, turn the meat, then finish it in the oven).

* The pan shape is interesting, like a cross between a frying pan and a wok.Excellent for stir-fry.It has a good heated surface area and the curved edging is useful for arranging food that you want to cook slower or less.

* The lid fits on the pan perfectly, with a thick and even quality glass.

* The hard anodized non-stick surface is top quality, far better than something like T-Fal.It looks like it will last a very long time.It cleans up really well, too.

* "Restaurant Tested" -apparently they conducted a field test with the cookware and had great results.Anolon does not provide any specific details about it... but if it isn't just marketing speak, this is a very nice testimony for durability.

* Nicely weighted. It is heavy, but not extremely so for this size. You don't want something too light weight anyway, as a lighter pan gets knocked around rather easily.

CONS:

======

* The grips are well made, but I'm not sure how well they will hold up if exposed to repeated high heat in the oven over a long period of time. That would only be a concern if you do a lot of pan roasting (your alternative would be to just transfer the meat when you're ready).

* The edging on the lid is stainless steel, but it's not super thick--it may suffer dents if you're careless with it.

Overall, an excellent buy.It really feels and looks like a pan costing several times more. And as of this writing, almost all of the reviews are 5 star. It's no wonder!:-)

My needs were pretty basic when I was searching for a replacement for my Kitchen Aid 12" Teflon coated pan.

* 12" (since I got used to the size for cooking for 2)

* be a highly versatile pan (I planned to have one-pan-to-rule-them-all)

* high quality nonstick surface (Teflon didn't last long... just over 1 year)

* not super pricey

The Analon fit the bill exactly. It's great for everything I throw at it, large enough to cook for two, and is super nonstick (I can fry an egg with no oil, which was impossible with my old cheapo pans).I believe the awesome nonstick surface is from "hard-anodizing" the pan instead of putting on a coating, which eventually wears off.I might be able to compare in a year or so, but for now (used for about 2 months), the hard-anodized surface provides a MUCH better cooking experience than my old pan ever did.Since food doesn't stick, my cleaning time for the pan has decreased significantly.

Other random thoughts that come to mind are: +comes with a see-through lid (that actually creates a good seal), +heavy (if you like heavy pans).

This is one of the best pans I purchased. I am a chinese and cook a lot of stir fry chinese food. Most american pans are not good for this purpose. But this pan is great. This is not a perfect pan like those of 200 dollars. some of my friends bought a pan of 500 dollars. I think that is too much for a pan.

For regular daily use, I think this pan is good enough, at least better than most american pans I purchased before.

I have to say, after using the pan for 6 months, I did saw some small light scratches on the pan, but nothing serious. Overall, a great pan for stir fry chinese food.

Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel Fry Pan

Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 8-Inch Fry PanWhat can one say about Le Creuset that has not already been said or written about. The pan is first class and cooks all foods very evenly. I only wish that I would have known about this earlier. This is well worth the investiment if you are a serious foody. Le Creuset pulls it off again and all I can say is Outstanding.

I am new to stainless, but I love Creuset enameled cast iron and Mauviel copper, so when it came to stainless, I actually ran a head to head test between a Mauviel M'Cook (stainless) and Creuset Stainless skillets. And I like this one best.

I didn't compare to All-Clad which I feel is too expensive for comparable performance, and not nearly comfortable enough. I didn't compare Cuisinart and Calphalon stainless because I feel they cut corners to compete on price, and don't compare on quality (poorly balanced, handles too short, etc). But those are personal preferences, your mileage may vary.

THE SCOOP:

Mauviel is 5 ply and Le Creuset is 3 ply.

Price is in the same range, though Mauviel m'Cook is a little more expensive, 15 to 20% more. But both are less than All-Clad, and more expensive than Cuisinart.

Both are clad on bottom and up the sides.

Mauviel is made in France. Le Creuset stainless is made at their own factory China (which means the work is not subbed out to a contractor in China, but rather that Le Creuset has a manufacturing plant in China where they manage the production).

THE RESULTS:

They both heat up at the same speed and are equally even. I saw no difference.

Le Creuset's pan was much, much easier to handle. Creuset's handle is more ergonomic. Helper handle on the other side makes things easy to manage. And overall, the Creuset was better balanced, I feel.

Quality-wise, Le Creuset wins. The execution and attention to detail is flawless. The Mauviel just feels a little less substantial and less carefully put together.

APPEARANCE:

Attractiveness is a personal thing, but I prefer Le Creuset. If you hang your pots and pans on the wall, though, then you might prefer Mauviel. Here are my thoughts:

Le Creuset looks sturdy, but does so elegantly, like a country kitchen style, while Mauviel is amore streamlined design, more refined shape, but not as attractive to my eye.

The Mauviel exterior is shiny stainless, while the inside is brushed stainless. Mauviel is logo is pressed into the base of the handle. The brushed interior just feels a little less classy and uninspiring sitting on the stove.

Le Creuset has two toned brushed/polished stainless exterior with a polished interior. Le Creuset logo is pressed into the base of the stainless handle and the top of the helper handle. I find the execution of the two tone exceptionally well done (way more attractive than Cuisinart's two tone french classic "high end line" for example) and the details, like the riveted handle are supremely well executed.

Le Creuset does have printing on the bottom side of the skillet, which detracts a little bit from the quality feel. Does not make you want to hang your skillet on the wall.

For hanging pans on a wall, Mauviel's shiny exterior, slimmer profile, and non-print bottom look better to me.

On the stove or table, though, I find Le Creuset is actually more modern and elegant looking, even though it's more sturdy. Its shiny interior and attractive shape are inspiring to me sitting on the stove awaiting my creations, but this is personal preference.

Le Creuset Stainless Fry Pan Summary:

PROS:

Quick, even heating. It's aluminium/stainless 3 ply clad.

It's heavy and thick, which means there's enough aluminum in there to actually distribute the heat across the entire pan. Performance demonstrates this.

Clad on bottom and up the sides.

Handle is excellent. Best out there, in my opinion (better than Calphalon, All Clad, Mauviel, Cuisinart).

Has a helper handle. Superbly handy.

Very attractive (see above report on attractiveness for details).

CONS:

Printing on the bottom (Le Creuset, plus some symbols indicating that the skillet can be used on gas, electric and induction). Doesn't affect performance at all and isn't noticeable unless you're looking at the bottom of your pan. So if you're hanging your pots on your wall, it's not as elegant as an all-smooth shiny stainless like Mauviel.

All in all, I'm quite in love with Creuset Stainless. It performs great, it's comfortable to manage and beautiful to cook in.

Proctor Silex 38520G Nonstick Electric Skillet, Black

Proctor Silex 38520G Nonstick Electric Skillet, BlackWe use this skillet several times a week & LOVE IT!!!It's way better than the Presto non-stick 16" skillet we tried because that one didn't leave much room for anything else in the dishwasher. This one not only leaves room in the dishwasher but has non-skid pads on the feet. The Presto slid around on our stove/counter top.We love the clear lid on this new version of the Proctor Silex & the fact that you can order the handles only if 1 gets broken but the rest of the skillet is fine. This is our 2nd or 3rd Proctor Silex non-stick electric skillet in 20+ years of marriage (1st 1 was a wedding gift that we wish we would have started using a lot sooner). They last a long time if you are careful to not damage the non-stick coating--do NOT use metal utensils in it.

Well, let's just say I was a more than a little underwhelmed by the Proctor Silex Electric Skillet. Why? For one, the lid was bent out of shape -so much so that it wouldn't fit on the skillet. Granted, I wasn't expecting too much, as it is bargain priced, but at the same time...jeeze, you want the basics. A lid that's not made of very pliable aluminum would be one of those basic items. Secondly, it's not at all sturdy. Not that I'm planning on dropping it on the floor, but accidents do happen. One fall from the counter, and this thing will be done for.

Other than that, the skillet warms up nicely and is ideal for basic cooking. We tend to use it for pancakes, so the lid really isn't too much of a n issue there.

Would I get it again? No, probably not. I'd go with something a little more sturdy, a little more high-end, and a name brand. You do indeed get what you pay for.

My old skillet was smaller so I do like the extra space.I was concerned about the thickness of the aluminum being so much thinner compared with my old one. However, since I have some problems with heavy appliances/pots, etc. this lighter weight is quite nice.I really enjoy the glass lid for keeping and eye on things. The nonstick is so far just great.I would have liked some method to hook the lid to the pan which forms a splatter shield and is somewhere to put a hot lid (had one years ago). However, being glass, it might be too heavy or otherwise not possible.Haven't used it long enough to give it 5 stars, since one of the drawbacks may be when simmering if the thermostat has too long a response time.It is a good skillet.

De Buyer Blue Steel French Crepe Pan 20 cm

De Buyer Blue Steel French Crepe Pan 20 cmThis pan makes the absolute best 1-egg omelets and crepes out of any other pan I have ever used. The low skirt makes flipping easy. A few things to remember when using this pan; 1-Heat well before use, coat with fat. You want to heat it for abut 5 minutes a little less then medium (on electric) before coating with butter. If the butter melts quick without browning, the pan is properly preheated. Spread the fat and add the well beat eggs or crepe batter. Swirl to spread evenly. PRACTICE FLIPPING. every chance you get. Two things will make you look like a total kitchen stud, one is a perfect souffle, the other is flipping a crepe/omelet. Its all in the wrist.

2Treat this pan like cast iron. Those cast iron aficionados know what I mean. Never use soap. Dry immediately. Oil after dried. Everything in your life needs maintenance, your car, your pet, your house, your cookware is no different. With proper care, this is just as non-stick as Teflon, only this wont kill your parakeet and eventually give you cancer. Also very good for searing meaty fish and rare steak.

Bottom line is, this is a fantastic piece of cookware, not only for this price point, but for ANY price point. You just have to know how to use it. Dont be lame and buy a Chinese made Teflon pan for your omelets, be super-cool and buy a French-made blue-steel pan. Look like a pro. Cook like a pro.

Mario Batali Silicone Pot Handle Sleeve/Grip Mitt, Pesto

Mario Batali Silicone Pot Handle Sleeve/Grip Mitt, PestoI purchased 2 of these Mario Batali silicone handle grips for my lodge skillet and frying pan...and was a little sceptical based on the 2 inch slits at the base of these grips..but thought they look great so gave them a chance since they were priced decently.

They came and did look and feel good..however as i expected..don't expect to lift a cast iron pot, pan or anything with these on..your hand will end up getting burned because the grips don't fit snugly, as they are a little large..the grips in general..and so the slits do open up and expose the base of the handle anyway if you try and lift a pan with these, thats why i had to give the product 3 stars and not 4 or 5.. if you are just using them on the stovetop and are handling pots and pans just on the stovetop with no intention of lifting anything hot..then they're OK and are worth buying.

The slits are Just too large in my opinion, they should've been no more then an inch, that way a cast iron pot or pan can be lifted from the stovetop without fear..but since the slits are 2 inches long, which is a pretty large slit..these are useless as far as taking cast iron from the stove to the oven or anywhere else..you'll need to use a kitchen towel anyway.

All in all just OK..not fantastic.

As Joy mentions above, the slits are a major issue, but I wouldn't even say they are "just OK". This is a fatal flaw! Did Signoro Molto even try these things out at some point in the design process? First of all, don't try reaching into the oven to grab a pan handle with one of these. If you can get the *entire sleeve* over the handle to spin it around (difficult in smaller ovens like mine), you ain't gettin' that pan out. Like to choke up on the handle for sauteeing in larger pans or cast iron (a necessity for those of us without Mario's Shrektastic physique)? Prepare to enjoy the delicious aroma of your own searing flesh when the slits open up and expose the hot metal to your skin.

This seemingly fabulous improvement over the plain-old silicon sleeve is a major fiasco. When will we learn that being a celebrity chef and TV personality DOES NOT qualify you to design kitchen gear?!

If you're looking for a sleeve by the way, try a classic like this -in green even! Not as sleek, but I've used one like this for years and never had an issue.

love the color.. thats the best i can say about this product.. it looks nice and it looks like it should fit most handles , but it is a sloppy fit. it has slits and holes and very loose on most every handle. it falls off even.. i gave it away.. at best it could be used for a easy slip off and on usage for several pan in use at one time. but that could be dangerous..dont get this one if your looking for safety and good fit.

This little Pot Handle Sleeve is great. We only bought the one so that we could evaluate if it properly fit the cookware we use.It slides on like a glove and functions perfectly. It is a bit of a tight fit so you might want to make sure you put it on before you've heated up your pots and pans to a few hundred degrees, but once on you can't even tell that the pot is anything besides room temperature. We will definitely be ordering a few more of these.

I have Cast Iron (by Griswold) and Stainless Steel AllClad handled skillets and I though that these silicone sleeves would be good to use on those hot handles. At the discontinued prices of these things, I thought they would be a bargain (after all, how do you screw up a silicone sleeve).

These sleeves have a huge slit on one side of the sleeve that basically lets the skillet handle make direct contact with your hand INSTANTLY.The slit is HUGE and there's so much play in the sleeve that rotating the sleeve that it feels like I'm using an oven mit to hold the skillet.

Even for 10 cents this product is totally not worth it ----I THREW THEM AWAY.

Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized 7-Quart Sauté with Lid

Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized 7-Quart Sauté with LidI have owned Calphalon Cookware for many years and have been mostly pleased with the product. The finish will remain intact for about three years without any problem, but then as light scratches begin to appear your oooking will begin to stick. My biggest disappointment was the "lifetime warranty" Calphalon offers. I sent in my entire set and was denied any type of replacement. Calphalon simply stated that I did not clean my cookware as instructed in the manual. Their claim was that I had put the cookware in the dishwasher which ruined the finish. This was totally untrue as some of my pieces such as this one, could never even fit in the dishwasher. When I appealed the decision they then stated I must have used abrasive cleaners. I appealed both written denials and then appealed to the Customer Service per phone at Calphalon. Finally, the Customer Services Supervisor called me. This ended up with her being so totally "rude" to me on the phone, I actually told her I would not listen to her and hung up. BOTTOM LINE is Calphalon will evidently deny Warranty Claims. I had stopped using Calphalon because of this AND WOULD NEVER BUY IT AGAIN.

This is a great pan.Use for stir fry and large quantities of food. The lid also fits the 10" fry pan.Love Calphalon products and their warranty is great.

When I cook I tend to cook a lot of whatever I'm making.Often that means a lot of cleaning up and many dirty pots. That is where this beast comes in.Make no mistake about, this is one big pan!Fortunately it's not too heavy being made out of aluminium (if was copper like some of my other saute pans it would weigh a ton!).

When I am cooking something that involves first browning meat, then adding vegetables and eventually adding a sauce this pan can hold it all.I can make enough for ten or more people. It is great for:

*Meat pasta sauces like a Ragu (not the brand, the real thing) or Bolognese-stlye meat sauce

*Chicken Korma

*Chili

I even use it for just browning meat without crowding it.This is an affordable pan for it's size.I use it often and it has held up well.If you are not into large quanities you may not need this, but if you have a large family or entertain big groups you could do much worse.

WearEver A8349765 Cook and Strain Nonstick Stainless Steel 10-Inch Covered Fry Pan / Saute Pan with

WearEver A8349765 Cook and Strain Nonstick Stainless Steel 10-Inch Covered Fry Pan / Saute Pan with Glass Straining Lid Dishwasher Safe Cookware, SilverThis pan is really handy. It has tall sides for those ideas that can splatter and it is the perfect size for a small family.I like it so much I have 2!

This is an excellent pan for glass topped ranges. The base is perfectly flat and very stable. The glass top is convenient for watching your food without lifting the lid (and losing heat) as it cooks.A simple turn of the lid to line up the vent holes with the pour spouts allows your food to vent excess steam, or turn it to block the holes to keep the steam inside. It is very well made and easy to clean.Do NOT use it on high heat or the non-stick coating will be destroyed.(I found out the hard way.)It is a very versatile pan, but should be used only at medium and low temperatures.I would not recommend it for gas cooktops because gas burners concentrate heat in a very small area (even on "low"), which would quickly ruin the non-stick coating.

I really loved this pan, very multi purpose so rated it 3 star even though it only lasted less than a year.

I would say if you use it close to once daily it wont last a year.Even though I used

all plastic utensils it started peeling around the sides which makes no sense as the contact with spatuals was on the bottom

of the pan. Disappointed I had to toss it.

I have had one of these pans for a couple of years.`It is absolutely the best pan in the word for cooking spaghetti since you can do a great job of draining the pasta after cooking it.I use a "pasta wrench" pasta server when adding full length spaghetti to boiling water since otherwise the noodles are a bit too long the "pasta wrench" serving tool lets me soften and bend the noodles when I add them to the boiling water.I cook the pasta covered on medium for 10 minutes in 1/2 pan of water, drain it with the pan, add some cold sauce and reheat for a minute or two great pasta every time!

I also use it for stir frying.

The glass lid is great, keeps the heat in.The straight sides are good for boiling and stirring but I prefer a slope sided glass-covered pan for eggs and omelets.

My only complaint it that I managed to semi-incinerate the non-stick coatingon the pan walls by leaving the pan on a lit burner and now it's flaking off.I could swear I've seen pans like this with no non-stick coating, but only occasionally.I sort of wish I had one.The non-stick coating is the Achilles heel of coated pans.Bare stainless is forever!

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 8-1/2-Inch Skillet, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 8-1/2-Inch Skillet, OrangeI love my R.R. skillets. They are the best skillets I have ever bought. No more

cheap teflon pans for me.

I can use pam spray when cooking an egg and it does wash great. No residue left

on the surface.

Thank you

This pan is perfect! The handle has a nice grip and feels just right. The pan works as one would want an egg (omelette) pan to, and it also cleans out very well both inside as well as the bottom of the pan. I am very glad I purchased it! Don't hesitate! :)

My initial attempts at using this skillet were not very successful. The food stuck to the two handle rivets and could not be loosed easily while cooking. As I continued to use it, however, the problem disappeared and I can say that the product has worked very nicely since then.

Revere Polished Aluminum 8-Inch Nonstick Skillet

Revere Polished Aluminum 8-Inch Nonstick SkilletThis is the best frying pan I have ever had. Nothing sticks. Everything turns out perfectly. It cooks evenly. The handle is perfectly shaped and proportioned to the hand. The pan is balanced, not heavy on the side away from the handle. It is feather-light, not a heavy clunker that wears you out just lifting it. (An elderly person cares greatly about the weight of utensils, but I think all women care about that aspect as well.) It cleans up so easily, just a few wipes because nothing, absolutely nothing, sticks. I use a flexible spatula to protect the surface, of course. The size is fine for a couple of eggs with bacon, or a few fried potatoes. Don't waste your money, as I did for my entire life, on the poorly designed skillets that come with famous chefs' names or huge advertising budgets. Revere is the only one you will want if you once try it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. AND THE PRICE WAS REALLY EXCELLENT. I love buying from Amazon. Besides the prices, I have never been left in the lurch waiting for a product.

Works well, as expected. This is a replacement for the same pan model that served us for over 10 years. We expect the same from this one.

I have had these skillets for almost 17 years now and needed to replace this size as the finish was no longer acceptable on my current one (and may I add that I did the finish in-no flaw of the skillet.)I have had very expensive skillets and none of them were any better than these.I do wish they would offer lids for them and I wish they were still made in the good old USA.

After using this pan quite a bit for 3 weeks, we are very happy with it.The bottom was flat and has remained flat, which is important with smooth cooktops, like we have. The nonstick surface is effective. This skillet is an excellent value.

Norpro Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round

Norpro 994C Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round, BlueWell made and quite substantial.Fits flatly on the surface of the pan.The outside diameter is 4 inches and the inside is 3 3/4 inches, and is 3/4 of an inch deep. The metal handle folds down flat for storage, and has a silicone insert so your fingers wont touch hot metal. This is the perfect size for a single egg, pancake, or omelet type recipe. I purchased two sets of 2 rings, for a total of 4.This is exactly what I have been searching for. They are high heat resistant to 500ºF/260ºC, and are FDA approved. There are a couple of recipes, and use instructions on the back of the bubble pack's card.Instructions: "Place on seasoned hot griddle or fry pan, lip side down. Pour 1/4 cup pancake batter or 1 raw egg into ring. Cook until egg or pancake sets.Gently pull ring away from sides, remove and flip to set." One recipe is for "Cheesy Egg Delight", and the other for "Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes".

These egg rings work exactly how they are supposed to.Cooks perfectly round eggs for making homemade egg sandwiches.I haven't tried them with pancakes so I am not sure how they would work for that. Nice weight to them so the egg doesn't leak out underneath. Also, they are a good size.

Buy Norpro Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round Now

Alright so here are the pros:

Non-stick! It was very easy to lift the ring right off my food and keep cooking.

The size is nice and large. It's probably a quarter inch too big EXACTLY to fit perfectly on a typical english muffin you would buy at the store. I'm okay with this because I hate biting into a breakfast sandwich and only get a mouthful of bread. The larger size also seems to accommodate their idea of using it for pancakes.

And now the cons:

Most people gave it such a happy review that I thought the negatives just didn't like it for whatever reason. But it does turn out that, consistently, the egg leaks out of the bottom EVERY time. I've used different pans to make sure it wasn't just an uneven pan. I've tried different methods (pouring just a little bit at the bottom to set and seal the cracks up that are leaking so I can pour more on top, etc) but it seems that no matter what I do, it's going to leak to some degree. Which brings me to my next point:

Because they are rubbery, they don't seem to cook the sides of the egg enough so that I can pull the ring off and flip. Just like other reviewers said, this thing could comfortably use 2-3 eggs to actually fill it, so that's what I did. The egg seems to be up so high that either I burn the bottom so the top cooks, or I pull the ring off too early and have the top of the contents spill all over the pan because they never set. So, really, the only solution seems to be using just 1 egg. But it's so incredibly thin when it's done that it doesn't seem appetizing at all.

So really, great for pancakes, not so great for making an egg patty for sandwiches. If I was going to choose one to buy all over again, it wouldn't have been this one. It would have been a smaller, metal one.

I use this to make egg sandwiches every morning. It works very well. Easy to clean. I recommend spraying the pan AND the ring with some cooking spray (Pam or otherwise.) Also, when using egg white egg beaters: pour the first bit in slowly, because it is so runny, it can escape under the ring. If you pour it slower, it allows the egg to cook a little before it can escape. =)

T-fal A777SI64 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Dishwasher Safe 18-Piece Cookware Set, RedAs a guy who's wife took everything, I was reduced to boiling eggs in the kettle, or worse yet microwave. This set, even with the large postage to Australia, allowed me to get a good range of pots and pans at a great price.

This set is far better than the stuff she took.

It would have been good if the griddle was a bit bigger though.

I hope these are as good as our old set. When we were first married we bought what we could afford, back then it was a small set of T-fal.The other day I thought that it was time for a new set of pots & pans. Our other ones were OK but it was getting time.I was thinking that we could actually afford one of those pricey sets that I hear people talking about, but then I realized that we had bought our old set right after we got married and we have been married 29 years this September. That settled it for me,why get a set that would cost a lot of money that I am not sure how good it would work when I could get the same ones that have worked great and are still working well enough that I am going to pass them on to my daughter. My daughter got a set of very expensive pots & pans as a wedding gift five years ago and has already had to throw one pot away after she made candy in it.The stuff stuck so bad that she finally just gave up on it.I have burnt fudge in my T-fal and just wiped it out with a paper towel! My daughter also told me that her set had an odorthat she could not get rid of,she is thrilled to be getting my old T-fal and I am thrilled to have my snazzy new RED ones!!

They were delivered so fast I barely had a chance to complete my order. So yea T-FAL.&yea AMAZON!!!

Overall, I love the set.I would have given it four stars because it cooks well and the color goes great with my kitchen. However, it's only been about four months since I purchased it and the handles are already loose. Also, what's up with that one egg frying pan, seriously, that was such a waste.I would have preferred another cover for the larger frying pan or even a steamer would have been great. For the price it's not a bad deal.My first set was much more durable. I'm really hoping this set lasts as long but I'm doubtful.

When this was fourteen dollars and change, I ordered it thinking"It must be awful."It's actually quite an amazing pan, and I wish I'd ordered two. It's the prefect size for doing small things, while you are using larger pans on the other burners.I just love the construction, and the heat transfer. There don't seem to be any cold spots, and it cleans up well. It's a really nice heavy weight.
