Lodge CBSF A Skillet Full of Traditional Southern Lodge Cast Iron Recipes and Memories Cookbook

Lodge CBSF A Skillet Full of Traditional Southern Lodge Cast Iron Recipes and Memories CookbookI have been an avid user of cast iron for two decades and have used a variety of pots/skillets/dutch ovens/griddles for cooking darn near everything.I've used them for everything from cooking trout over a camp fire to making gourmet sauces for special occasions.

This is the first book I have seen devoted to the wonder of cast iron. But that's not what makes it such a great cook book.

The recipes are simple, filling and very good.Everything I have made so far has been a hit with my kids and hasn't left a huge mess of my kitchen. The skillet comes full from the oven or stove, goes straight to the table, and leaves empty. Many recipes can be finished easily in the short amount of time most of us have between arrriving home from work and when kids start howling with hunger. For those recipes that don't, I have made them one night and heated them through the next with great results.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wishing to serve good food easily. That it comes from cast iron is an extra benefit!

This cookbook is awesome.I needed to replace my old non-stick cookware and decided to buy cast iron cookware.AND of course I needed a cookbook for cast iron cooking. This cookbook has so many great receipes, everyone of the receipes sounds mouth watering delicious. I have already tried several recipes from this cookbook, and my family loves them. I'm so glad I switched to cast irson, everything tastes great in cast iron.

Very good cookbook, I like that it provides very clear instruction on what types/size f pot to use. As someone who is learning to use cast iron for cooking I found this to be one of the best books avaliable.

The book provided exellent recipies that guys can use for outdoor "grilling" on a double burner instead of the typical charcole method.

I purposely chose this book for the history it offered.Since recently returning to cast iron cookware, I wanted to know what other cooks have learned.Kind of like looking over Grandma's shoulders...soaking up her wisdom and experiences.Well this book offeres lots of Grandmothers AND Grandfathers who are experienced cooks!

I noticed one of the previous reviewers called the recipes "quirky."I personally have to disagree. The example the reviewer used was "Strawberry Pizza," pg 178.It's baked on a pizza pan as any fruit pizza would be.I did not find anything I'd call bizare. All the recipes I've seen are what I am used to seeing and preparing, plus a few unexpected surprises...

For instance, page 39 starts a section just for cornbread recipes.26 different recipes for cornbread...I grew up on just one recipe.I really can't wait to try "Ultimate Cornbread" (pg 48) which has sour cream and cheddar cheese listed as ingredients.

This book also offers all the other chapters you would expect to find; breads, veggies, eggs/cheese, poultry, fish, meat, etc.

All the recipes offer us a suggested pan to use, the names of the author(s) and sometimes a little story to go with the recipe.

I've truly enjoyed reading this cookbook. All in all, a delightfull, fun cookbook to use whether or not you are a fan of cast iron cookware!

I do hope this review helps you...

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Chicken Fryer, Red Speckle

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Chicken Fryer, Red SpeckleMostly I love this pan. I love how it looks, the see through lid, it cleans up easily and the depth of it means if you make gravy in it, you are in no danger of slopping over the sides while stirring vigorously.

However, What I didn't like at all is because it has two handles (rather than one long handle) which look so attractive and is one of the things about it that first caught my eye it takes both hands to pick it up and pour. Sometimes I like to keep the lid in place and use it to "strain" the solid food and be able to pour out any grease or liquids and with this skillet, you can't do that unless you have a second person to help you.

Yes, I could just get out a colander and strain that way but it's just one more dirty dish and after being married for over 20 years, I'm a bit tired of doing dishes and so avoid dirty-ing any extra if at all possible.

One good thing about the two handles is that if you have small children, they are safer in that they don't hang out where a child might be able to grab ahold but I don't have small children so this isn't really a benefit for me.

I'm going to keep the pan for now and will just use it for foods that I won't need to strain.

I don't mean to be overly critical but just thought this might be info that someone would find useful because it never occurred to me until after I'd used the pan a couple of times.

I have always used cuisinart everyday pans and i decided to buy 2 of these. These pans are the best frying pans i have ever owned.I have a ceramic top range,so i heat them up slow and have not had a problem with the color fusing to the stovetop.

Hey...this is a great skillet. I use it constantly. It is just the right size to cook for my 5 member family. Its just not for chicken. I make casseroles, fry meats and make gravy in it. It is very durable and great non stick surface.

I've used may chicken fryers over the years and this one rates as a good purchase.I would have rated it higher, but it doesn't conduct heat as well as others and that can and does cause uneven cooking!Still it is a good fryer for the price.

Disney Pancake Pans - Mickey Mouse

Disney Pancake Pans - Mickey MouseThought this would be a fun way to re-create the Disney Magic at home. This pan is VERY poor quality. Super small, the metal is so cheap that it doeesn't hold the heat at all causing the outside to burn before the inside cooks . The edging makes it impossible to flip the pancake..and this is not non-stick. I tried several times and they all fell apart. Honestly this pan isn't worth $2.00. The only thing I can do with this pan is hang it in my kitchen as a decorative item.

This pan is Cheap, flimsy, anddoesn't hold heat.Is not worth a penny. Save your money.Great idea, but not worth it.

KitchenAid Gourmet Nonstick 10" Skillet, Gray

KitchenAid Gourmet Nonstick 10' Skillet, GrayThis 10 inch is my very first nonstick pan and a very good investment. It has good heat distribution for cooking eggs, omelettes, pasta and cheese sauces. Clean up is very easy, nothing sticks. The nonstick surface does not interfere with the taste of the food. The handle does not get hot, no pot holder.

I would recommend this nonstick to all cooks.

I have the 12" and 8 1/2" KitchenAid Gourmet hard-anodized skillets and just love them!!They are light enough for me to hold up with one hand while I scrape or scoop the cooked food out with the other hand.Although light-weight, they cook very evenly and are a breeze to clean up.I want this 10" skillet to complete my set, but I'm waiting until Amazon stocks it and will buy it from them. These are replacing my heavier-weight Farberware skillets that I needed my husband's help with at serving time, yet these new skillets cook just as well or better than the heavier ones. And they're much easier to clean.I love these!!

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron 10 1/4 Inch Square Skillet Grills

Le Creuset Square Skillet Grill PanThe only reason why this doesn't get the last star, in my book, is because of its somewhat limited usefulness. However, if you live in an apartment or otherwise anywhere where grilling is impossible, this is the next best thing....like all other Le Creuset products this heats evenly and wonderfully and takes abuse.I got mine as part of a 6-piece set (along with a Dutch Oven, Baking Pan, and Casserole) and sorta at first saw this as a "filler" piece. However, to it's credit, this pan can do even easilly-burned items like tofu dogs and fake bacon WONDERFULLY, which shocked me--I was convinced that nothing could give a "grilled" effect to those items. I even got adventerous the first time I used it and grilled some apple rings.I panicked when some sugar seemed to be burnt on for good despite a good soaking, but after the pot had been dried and put away for 48 hours it flaked right off.Forget what you know about nonstick surfaces, btw, and banish those bad memories of cruddy, flaking Teflon from the 70's.Just treat this well (I only use wooden utensils on it) and it will treat you well.Follow the instructions and enjoy!Just be sure to use a potholder and realize that once this thing gets hot it STAYS hot for a LONG time.

Wow, I love this pan!I also live in an apartment, so this is a great substitute for outdoor grilling when you want a quick dinner. It's not as good as the outdoor charcoal grill, but this has some advantages. It'ssuper easy.I use this pan several times a week.I pre-heat the pan, brush a little canola oil to the ribs, and while it warms up to the right temperature, I prepare the food.I cut some veggies (can use zucchini, squash, small eggplant, onions, bell pepper, etc), on the bias, so there's more surface area, toss with olive oil, salt & pepper, and grill. You may have to do several rounds of it if you have lots of veggies. After cooking until just tender, toss with a little balsamic vinegar and olive oil.DELICIOUS!!Also, we've been grilling some great local wild salmon on this pan.It is unbelievable. It is very quick, so don't overcook.Season with salt and pepper, and anything you like. Just practice a couple times, experiment with the temperature and your technique, and you'll see how easy and tasty it is.If you can get some homegrown or organic produce, it's so much more tasty.Simple grilling complements good ingredients.

(1) Where is it written, who decreed that skillets should be round?(2) Why has it taken me so long to discover the advantages of a square fry pan?

The answers are: nowhere that I know of, and because my mother always used a round skillet. She would have loved this enameled cast iron beauty that leaves appetizing sear marks on meat a char effect without the mess. The ribbed base captures grease allowingfor healthier low fat cooking, and the surface isa satiny black enamel that cleans in a breeze.

It's compatible with all heating surfaces, and has an easy hold comfortable handle. We lightly applied vegetable oil to the ribs before our first use, and for several times thereafter.Since then there has been no need for the addition of oils.By heating the grill for a few minutes on medium heat (test with a drop of water and heat until water droplets sizzle) we've found the cooking surface primed for superior cooking.

This nifty item has such a plethora of uses it can be used in the oven (keep your oven glove at the ready) or even on a backyard barbecue.

Don't let the high price tag and the cast iron thing scare you away from this great product. It's not your mother's cast iron of stuck-on messes and rust in your food. It's very easy to season, and from there it works great. We've been able to cook everything from salmon, to buffalo, to pineapples with no sticking.

Unlike it's predecessor, the George Foreman grill, it cooks many kind of foods beautifully without drying it out or sticking. The key...temperature control. Since it works with your stove, you can control the amout of heat you need.

Also, having a wee kitchen, it's nice not to have another appliance taking up valuable counter space.

One of the best features is the lifetime warranty. And they mean it too. My friend had a Le Creuset teapot that rusted out and they sent her a replacement for free.

Sure it's pricey, but you get what you pay for with this pan.

I live in the city, and don't have access to a grill. This pan makes perfect steakhouse grill lines on your pan. Just heat it really, really hot -to the point of smoking -on your stove first. Then turn on your broiler to High. Throw on a steak and shove it under the broiler. Two minutes later, rotate the steak 45 degrees. Flip steak and repeat. Professional gourmet steakhouse steakI swear.

But this pan will get oil splatters on it that will turn black under high heat circumstances. Are you going to spend 3 hours scrubbing every nook and cranny with baking soda and a scotch brite? No! I won't either. So I live with the black oil stains, and take them as badges of honor for all of the previous delicious meals past.

However, I'm slightly OCD and the black spots do bug me. I recommend this pan highly, just get the black color. You won't see any stains, and you'll just love this thing.

For panini fans: Get the panini press which fits with this perfectly.

The perfect San Francisco panini: Get a French roll, slice down the middle and slather the insides with olive oil. Lay on a few slices of prosciutto, a few roasted red peppers packed in water or oil (from your deli or condiments section of the grocery store), and a few generous slices of mozzarella. Sprinkle sandwich with a little salt. Grill in pan on medium heat until the first side is golden. Flip sandwich. Adjust heat so that when the second side turns golden, the mozzarella is just starting to melt. Bite into heaven.

This product met my expectations after reading the other reviews. It came on time and in working condition.I did not have any problems with the coffee maker. There is trick to making it work well, you can't have the top where you pour in the water open at the same time you have the piece where the coffee goes swung out.It also is easier to put the carafe into place if that piece is in.So to make coffee, I open the top, pour in water, close it, swing out the coffee holder, put the coffee in it, swing it back in, then put the carafe under it.I did not use the re-usable filter, it looked like it would be messy to try to clean.

The toaster oven works well if you let it heat up for a minute or two as stated in the instructions.I've heated english muffins and rolls and made cheese toast. It works like a toaster oven and not a pop-up toaster.I did not try cooking an egg.

The appliance is compact and suited for use where space is at a premium.I suspect that if this product is used gently and as intended, it will last several years.

I really love this incredible kitchen gadget. It toasts my muffins, bagels, skinny bagels, as well as warms breakfast sandwiches. The top eating element will accommodate an egg or egg-beater, and I've even added a couple of strips of ready-made bacon (to go with the egg) on top as well. The coffee maker does exactly what I want: it makes just enough coffee for me in the morning. The size of the machine is small enough to place on my counter top, and it does everything it claims to do.I never knew products like this existed.I may buy another one as Christmas present for a friend of mine, who would benefit from one of these machines greatly.

Cast Iron Steak Weight & Bacon Press

Cast Iron Steak Weight & Bacon PressIt is a functional item and arrived as described and quickly.I think it works fine but had a few flaws in the casting that I wish that they had caught.A little better quality control is needed. Not worth returning, I will just grind the spots in question to protect my cookwares finish.

Nice heavy bacon/sausage press. It's cast iron so don't get it wet but it's exactly what it looks like. Very solidly made. The wood handle is screwed in at both ends and the wood isn't finished on the ends, so again, if you get it wet, that might be a problem, but if you keep it clean with a brush or scraper, this utensil is likely to last a long, long time. Can't go wrong.

When I got this, not only was the metal and handle sticky with some unknown substance, but the press was actually warped in the middle so it wouldn't lay flat. The texture on the bottom is very small squares packed closely together. Not what I was looking for. I returned it post-haste.

Do yourself a favor and spend another 5 bucks on a QUALITY press. I bought the Outset Q111. Significantly better.

This is great for flattening bacon and steaks. I highly recommend this for a friend and would buy again. It has small bumps on the flat, heavy, device. Well made. Needs to be seasoned and dried well after washing as it is metal and can rust if not treated. It does have a sticker that states "Made in China".

I washed this item before putting it to use. While washing it, it was literally turning to rust in my hands. My boyfriend kept saying..Naaah, that's not rust. But, what the hell else could it be? Rusty water just beading up on the press almost as fast as it was wet.

Then the handle got super sticky and it's as if it's coated in some weird adhesive or something.

I'm going to return this thing as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor, get one from a name brand company. I actually thought I was ordering the Kingsford one but, I ended up with this and well, it sucks.

Lodge Logic L8IC3 Cast Iron Lid, 10.25-inch

Lodge Logic L8IC3 Cast Iron Lid, 10.25-inchIf you own the Lodge Logic 10-1/4-inch skillet, this cover allows for more versatility. It allows for even heating and dutch oven type use. If you prepare something, and just want to keep it warm, or use it outdoors and need protection. It also will seal in nutrients and flavorsbecause of the tight fit, and also the self-basting spikes. I used another lid in a pinch, but it didnt give me the same cooking results as the Lodge lid. The 3-quart chicken fryer, and 5-quart Dutch oven have the same size lids, and you can interchange those lids, but I found I was using them at the same times often, and needed a seperate lid for my skillet. For the price, it just doesnt make sense not to go ahead and have one.

I love the lid that goes with my Lodge Logic 10-1/4-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet. It is obvious that many other people love their Lodge cookware too.Ever since Joseph Lodge started making cast iron cookware in the 1800's --the company goes back to 1896 -people have been loving it and passing it down from one generation to the next.

If we decide to get a 3-quart chicken fryer or 5-quart Dutch oven, this lid will work fine for them too.The self-basting spikes keep the lid fitting snugly.

It came preseasoned and ready to use.We hand wash it and the skillet. We don't submerge it in water for long periods. Instead of draining it, we dry it with a dish towel immediately. The we spray it lightly with Pam(PAM-Original No Stick Cooking Spray, 3/8oz Cans) or rub it with an oil saturated paper towel. When we store it we place a folded paper towel between the lid and the utensil to allow air to circulate.

We try to remember not to shock it and the skillet by placing cold water in the hot pan.

I hope you find this review helpful.

As far as I know, (I have the 8" and 12" equivalents of this lid as well), the 12" lid is the only one that has little flanges (?) that cover the spout portion of the corresponding skillet. So less steam will escape. This lid does not have those flanges, so steam will escape from the spouts. Also, the resulting hole will let dust/flies in.

When I got the lid, the "self-basting spikes" (see picture) were not on the description list, so I had really no idea what they were for.I thought it might have been a manufacturing artifact.Or considering that the pioneers didn't have much space, it had dual functions, like maybe you can use it double up as a grill, or use it to tenderize/hold meat, or play Chinese Checkers. The premise of the self-basting spikes is that as condensation forms on the underside of the lid, the liquid will drip down those spikes evenly on the food.I think it works pretty well the only real problem I have with this lid is that it is soooo heavy. And not clear.Oh well.

The lid was surprisingly easy to season, though.I thought I might have to cook on it to get it properly seasoned, but after 1 session in the oven, it came out better-seasoned looking than my matching griddle.

I looked at it like this:

The 5 Qt. Dutch Oven cover fits the 10 1/4" skillet.

The 10 1/4" cover is $16.99

The 5 Qt. Dutch Oven is $26.99

If I subtract what I'd spend for the 10 1/4"cover, the D.O. Only costs $10.00 more. That's a big hunk of iron for a mere $10.00.

I did the same thing by buying the 7 Qt. D.O. with Spiral Handle because the cover fits my 12" skillet.

Also, I found a brush that works very well to clean the pans and lids Power Tip Dish & Glass Brush

Ozeri Green Earth Textured Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pan, 100-Percent PTFE and PFOA Free

The 12' Green Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri, with Textured Ceramic Non-Stick Coating from GermanyI bought this pan seeking a replacement for our aging traditional non-stick pan. I didn't know much about the company, but the reviews seemed solid. I will add to the solid reviews. This pan is well constructed and works as advertised. It has a good heft, heats evenly, and holds its temperature well. The textured bottom does not impede the non-stick properties. I can't say I notice a marked improvement over a smooth bottomed PTFE-free pan, but it doesn't hurt.

A note to those who find the non-stick properties disappearing in your pans. This happened with a previous PTFE-free pan I had used.If you look carefully and run your fingers (particularly around the bottom circumference) you will notice a sticky film. This seems to be a build up from excess oil not cleaned off well.By this point it will be extremely sticky and hard to clean off. With some serious elbow grease, I was able to clean this off.The pan is as good as new.I haven't had the build up occur with this pan yet, but I recommend cleaning thoroughly after each use to avoid the sticky build up.

I've used this pan for a few weeks now and really like it.The color looks fresh and nice if I take the pan directlyto the table. It's also cooked food evenly and is super easy to clean with no scrubbing needed.(I've only tried hand washing it).I wish that it were 12" on both the bottom and top, though, like my last pan was. This pan is 12" across at the top but 10" across at the bottom, which allows me to only cook 2 grilled cheese sandwiches instead of 3 at one time. But other than the size issue, I am very happy with the pan.

This is probably the slickest non-stick pan I've ever used.Unfortunately, the surface died a very quick death.I used this pan maybe 6 or 7 times before the non-stick surface started coming off.I was very careful with this pan gently using plastic cooking utensils, allowing it to cool before rinsing, cleaning gently with a soapy wash cloth, etc.And how was I rewarded for my caring ways?

Yeah.... don't buy this pan.

Other reviews would suggest that the non-stick properties don't last but at first it's amazing. Even water doesn't want to wet the surface. We fried turkey sausage and clean-up with a sponge and soapy water hardly seemed necessary. It's nicely made and heavy with some classy looking machine work on the bottom. My only complaint is the deceptive advertising and packaging. The Amazon description says, "From Germany" and the box it comes in says "From Germany" no less than 7 times. So it's German made, right? WRONG! Small print on the bottom of the box says "Made in China." "From Germany" apparently applies to the coating material only. Still, it's very well made, just as good or better than if it were truly a German product and likely at half the cost. How long will the non-stick properties last? Time will tell.

West Bend 72212 Electric Extra-Deep Square 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet

West Bend 72212 Electric Extra-Deep Square 12-Inch Nonstick SkilletI have owned this for about two weeks and have used it almost everyday. Not only can you use it as you would any other skillet -I have used it to make baked potatoes; "baked" frozen entrees, and have found recipes for cakes, coffee cakes and even pizza. Can't wait to try all these new ideas. The kitchen doesn't get heated up in the summer, thus keeping the air conditioning from working hard. Some things take a little experimenting, but it all seems to work out in the end.Frozen products need to be watched the first time to make sure they are totally cooked. My only suggestion to West Bend would be to offer a grid to fit in the skillet.Great product -great price!!

I bought this skillet because of the size (not too big for just two of us), the high walls, and the glass cover. The two positive reviews influenced my decision, though I did notice that the larger version of this same skillet had more negative reviews.

I'm calling Amazon today and returning the skillet. The primary purpose was for frying, however, the temperature doesn't get hot enough of stay hot enough to fry.The temperature dial goes up to 400.I wanted to make donuts, which call for a temperature of 375 degrees. When the light when off I put the donuts in, fried them golden brown, drained them, and taste tested them. They tasted like oil. From the instructions on the donut mix I found out that tasting like oil meant the oil wasn't hot enough, and therefore the crust on the donut wasn't formed quickly, and the donut gets oil soggy.I got out my handy candy thermometer and took the temperature of the oil. It was not hot enough, so I turned the dial to 400, hoping it would reach 375.The light came on and the oil heated up to 360, and the light went out.In another minute the light came on and the oil went up to 364, and the light went out. This cycle repeated, and the oil reached a high temperature of 369, but then dropped down to 361.That was as hot as I could get it.I verified the temp readings with a digital thermometer, still below 370 when set at 400 (the max). Can't fry donuts, so going back.

I have an old electric skillet that belonged to my mom, but it's stuck deep in storage and I needed a skillet in a pinch. It was easier to buy one than to go foraging through dozens of dusty boxes.

I wish I'd spent the time to go foraging. This is NOTHING like the 40-year-old electric skillet my mom used while we were growing up.

Con: The skillet has the poorest heat distribution I have EVER seen.Any food sitting directly on the heating element will cook much faster than food elsewhere in the skillet.Hence, it will stick and burn. (That was NEVER the case with my mom's old steel skillet.) I tried scrambling eggs in this skillet and before the eggs away from the heating coil could even begin cooking, the ones on the heating coil were turning brown.Same thing went for pancakes and potato cakes.I even tried hamburger helper in this skillet only to have to babysit it to constantly stir it to keep it from sticking.

Con: The simmer setting is a joke.Again, food sticks where the heating coil is.

Pro: Incredibly easy to clean.

Pro: Nice lid, decent construction. The skillet itself is lightweight, but doesn't feel flimsy.

Would I buy it again? No.I'll use it for light duty until it dies.I know it won't last 40 years, that's for sure. And I know with the poor heat distribution that cooking the pot roast my mom always made in her electric skillet is out of the question.

Overall grade: DI would not recommend this.

When trying to find a frypan on Amazon, the 12-inch by 12-inch selection was VERY limited.Unfortunately, I chose the West Bend 72212.What a disappointment!

The FIRST thing I noticed was that when the oil was poured into the frypan . . . it ran down into a pool in the center of the frypan instead of spreading evenly across the bottom.

The SECOND thing that happened, after only four uses, was that the frypan woggled and I discovered that one of the inserted rubber feet had fallen out . . . never to be found ANYWHERE!

The THIRD and final strike concerns the temperature control.Whomever designed the control should lose their job. For example:the temperature numbers are all in a row 300 350 400 around the perimeter, with NO slashes between them. You had to GUESS where you were in a specific 50 degree range.MOST controls have a slash between numbers to separate them and to denote the temperature range, or to indicate the mid-ranges of 325, or 375 degrees.

Then there was deciding exactly where you actually were on the control. It was a mad guess because the indicator light is ROUND and not 'arrow' shaped with a point to determine the relationship to the numbers on the dial.

The control was so wonkie that no matter WHAT temperature you selected it turned off for no reason, so you had to constantly raise the temp to keep the food frying.Example:I finished frying the bacon and in order to cook the potatoes I had to keep increasing the temperature.I ended up turning it up to 400 degrees to finish browning them. After removing the potatoes, the light when out.THEN after dropping FIVE cold eggs into the frypan for scrambling, the light took FOREVER to re-light, indicating it was trying to get up to temperature. What the heck???

So . . . this frypan is going to the dump because it's not worth the effort to box it up, take it to the post office, pay the freight and to deal with the hassle of shipping it back, without all four rubber feet.I certainly couldn't, in good conscience, give it to someone else with its many problems.

If I could, I would give this frypan a MINUS 5 stars!

Telebrands Orgreenic Frying Pan, 10 "

Telebrands Orgreenic Frying Pan, 10 'I gave it a one star because I couldn't go lower. Food sticks to it worse than a stainless steel pan. The company said for me to re season the pan. I did both pans exactly as they said. The food stuck. Redid them twice more.Food still stuck. If you cook eggs, you will have to submerge them in water for about 30 minutes to wash the stuck on eggs out. They must have used silicon spray on these pans to make the commercial. I tried using oil, butter, and pam with the same poor results. The pots have 100% satisfaction guarantee except it will cost you 30$ to mail back the 40$ pans. Seems like a scam to me. Do not buy these pans.

This product was non-stick for the first few uses, then gradually got worse.I would say a non-seasoned cast iron skillet would work better.Save your $$.

I don't know how the pan really works, but I had a negative experience with the company itself so my review is regarding this.

I went to their website and put this pan in my cart.It had me enter my credit card information, and then I clicked next, expecting it to go to a page where I could confirm my order. It went to offer after offer, trying to make me upgrade to more pans. Finally, I got sick of it and exited the page.

A few minutes later I got a confirmation saying that I had purchased not only the pan, but a "free" gift which I had to pay about $7 shipping for.I did not want that, and it never gave me the option to reject the gift so I called the company immediately and told the woman I wanted to cancel my order. She tried to get me to but the pan without the "free" gift, but I said no, so she told me she would put a note in to cancel it.

About a week later, the pan arrived in the mail, and I noticed that my card had been charged for the pan and "free" gift.I called the company to say that I had cancelled my order, and that this should have never been sent.I told them I did not want to pay the shipping to send it back because I, first of all, did not confirm to order it, and secondly, cancelled it immediately when I saw that it had gone through.

She told me that the computer says I cancelled it on April 5th, after it had been sent. This is not true, because I called 5 minutes after I received the receipt in my email on March 30th.She said sorry, there was nothing she could do, if I wanted I could send it back and get refunded for the price of the item but not the shipping.

I ended up filing a claim with my bank and giving the box back to the post office as a "Return to Sender," so that I wouldn't have to pay shipping. They ended up refunding the entire charge (which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1) but if I had not been so determined to not let them make me pay shipping, I could have easily paid $20 worth of shipping charges for something I didn't even commit to ordering.

P.S. I hate writing bad reviews.I only wrote this so that other people don't get scammed like I almost did.

I was sucked in by the infomercial. It took months to deliver the trial pan.I carefully seasoned it as per instructions.within 1 week of use 1/3 of the surface turned black.no amount of scrubbing with a sponge can remove it.the handle became loose within 1 week as well. after 1 month of use scratches appeared in the coating. I used only plastic and wood utensils. This product is basically crap. stay away!!!!!!

Brought it because it was guarantee non-stick. It worked at first, but after a week, the food started sticking and now there is a black residue covering half the pan, which I have tried scrubbing off but doesn't work. Do not buy this pan!! It's been 2 weeks now and the food sticks to the pan and the black residue makes the pan sticky.

Titanium Nowo Non-Stick Crepe Pan Size: 11-in.

Titanium Nowo Non-Stick Crepe Pan Size: 11-in.I love this pan which I use for crepes and omelettes. A very good investment worth the money. I wanted a titanium pan because it's a natural material unlike Teflon. It's a German product, the quality is there! It is an excellent conductor and allows me to make beautiful crepes!

Scanpan CTX 11" Fry Pan

Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry PanThis is our Third Scanpan, and we love them.Quite simply the best non-stick cookware we have found.

Let me give a quick background After we collected All-Clad for several years, it was evident that the non-stick All-Clad was not up to the task.It began to get old and clean-up became tiresome and difficult as the All-Clad non-stick coating wore down and honestly stopped working. We also own some of the All-Clad stainless that is "supposed" to be non-stick based on heating it first, but I find that to be untrue. For pots and other cookware we still like it.

Scanpan has become our favorite cookware over the last 3 years, and the first one purchased is as clean and effective as this brand-new one.No visible wear or tear at all, and a breeze to clean up.We started with the small 8 inch, then the 10 inch, and now the 12 inch to round out our collection and replace our last All-Clad non-stick.It is all very durable and fast to heat up, giving perfect even heating across the pan.All of our pans are the CTX line, which we found to be a bit more heavy duty and well built than the cheaper linethicker with a better handle.I can't speak to how the cheaper line may work.My only small complaint is only during clean-up the small steel buttons where the handle is attached is a bit harder to clean, and by saying this you know we are spoiled because the rest of the pan is clean with a wipe of a paper towel or cloth, then you have to scrub the buttons for a few seconds to remove food from them.No biggie. If only they were made from the same material!

I can't say enough about these they are all we use now.Highly recommended and well worth the extra money!

I combined raw onions and a sweet Italian sausage in this skillet on low heat. After the onions were cooked I removed them and turned up the heat to medium high to brown the sausage. When that was done I tried to clean it. The onion remnants refused to be cleaned off. Something about them had bonded tightly to the surface. I contacted Scanpan and they advised adding a teaspoon of baking soda to two cups of water, bring to boil, let stand for 30 mins and then scrub. I had to repeat this EIGHT times before the surface was clean. Now the surface is nothing like as slippery as it was originally, and even fish sticks to it. It remains easy to clean, but it's still a disappointment.

I have been using the 8" and 10.25" pans for almost a year with an induction cooktop.I am considering the 12-3/4" one, too. They do occasionally go on sale here at Amazon for less than the usual prices.I wish they made a shallow 2-1/2 quart, 8" diameter saute pan with lid.

Other reviewers have mentioned what makes them so great, and I agree.I think there is something about the ceramic/titanium material embedded just below the surface that makes it cook so much like stainless steel, but without sticking, of course.I rarely use SS skillets for browning anymore, unless I want to make a sauce from the "fond" that builds up in the pan.

The one thing that would make them PERFECT would be a flared pouring rim. This may be difficult to implement due to the materials used.I don't know, but it would be great to have.I find that when I pour from these pans, I have to be ready with a slightly wet and soapy dishcloth to quickly wipe the side/bottom, as liquid WILL run down the sides and then the bottom. If I don't wipe immediately, and the pan is really hot, the liquid will begin to harden/set.

This effect would be even more so with a gas or hot radiating electric cooktop if the pan is returned to the burner without wiping, and cooking continues. Then you will then have to later exert some unnecessary "elbow grease" to clean.

Bar Keeper's Friend works great, btw.

When one reads that this cookware is PFOA-free and how the nonstick coating is applied, words like eco-friendly, titanium, ceramic, high temp make one think SAFE! and one would immediately assume that it has no Teflon. I did. Wrong! The cookware does not have PFOA but it has PTFE (=Teflon). Go to the Scanpan website. You'll see that their non-stick coating is called Greblon. Greblon is a brand name and is the same as Teflon, Silverstone, Fluron, Supra, Excalibur, Xylon, Duracote, Resistal, and so on. They are all PTFE (=Teflon). I am kicking myself hard for trusting the sales people (Sur la Table store in town) when they told me: "Yes, you can heat up tortillas safely on this skillet. It has no Teflon". Fortunately my parrot is alive and well.

I own a set of high-quality stainless steel cookware and I'm very happy with it, but there are times when a non-stick pan is what's needed for the task at hand, and the Scanpan CTX fills the bill perfectly:"Recycled aluminum core with Ceramic Titanium PFOA-Free Non-stick interior surface and 18/10 Stainless Steel exterior."

A lot of "safe" non-stick pans have hit the market recently, and most of them have been accompanied by a plethora of complaints, including losing their non-stick properties after only a few months, and some after just a few uses. This is not the case with the Scanpan.I own both the 10 1/4 inch pan and the 8 inch pan.The 8 inch pan is my go-to pan for omelets and/or scrambled eggs.Nothing sticks to these pans, the food slides out without a hitch each and every time, and the pans look just as good as the day I bought them, no signs of wear and tear.

If you're looking for a durable, high-quality, non-stick pan you won't be disappointed with the Scanpan CTX.

Concord 12" Eco Friendly Ceramic Coated Non Stick Fry Pan

Concord 12' Eco Friendly Ceramic Coated Non Stick Fry PanThe pan is big, but not very sturdy. The ceramic surface is good for scrambling eggs, and is better than teflon andother coatings. The pan's outer coat scratches easily, even on a glass-top range. The pan metal is thin, and the handle is plastic.I believe that ceramic surface on a sturdier pan would be better, this pan is flimsy.

Not sure how well it has held up, bought it for my daughter in law. It was shipped quickly and it looked great.

I love this pan! I got the 8 inch one and it's great! The 12 inch is big, and I intend to get the 9.5 one. This is a breeze to cook on and easy to clean and very sturdy. If I had thought, sooner, I would've gotten the set of 3 at once instead of separatly-nontheless, it's a great product.I highly recommend this product.

Circulon Cookware Espree 10-Piece Hard Anodized Set

Circulon Cookware Espree 10-Piece Hard Anodized SetWe've had this set for about 8 months nowand we have no regrets.I just cooked an omelet this morning with no butter or oil and it slid right out of the pan.The non-stick surface is not only slick, but it's strong as well.I've had teflon pans in the past that scratch very easily.I know I shouldn't but sometimes I'll use a metal fork or spoon to flip bacon or stir sauce, etc, and I still see no scratches on any surfaces.

A feature that interested me when I bought it but wasn't quite convinced it would work are all of the grooves/rings on the bottom interior of all of the cookware. They are supposed to reduce utensil contact with the non-stick surface, and at the same time create more even heating of the food.I've found both of these claims to be true. Also, the instructions said I would not need to use a temperature above 5 (out of 10) on the stove top because the special design amplifies the heat.I didn't believe this at first but found it to be true too.I cooked Taylor pork roll on 3 (electric stove) and it was done in a few minutes, nice and brown, VERY evenly cooked, a bit crispy and very hot. With my last pan set I would have been using a 6 setting, so I suppose I am now using less electricity too.The only time I use a temperature above 5 is when I am using one of the pots and a recipe tells me to get a rolling boil going.

The only down side is that because it has a grooved surface, food sometimes will stay between the grooves, but this easily slides out when I wash the pan with soap and hot water, which you need to do anyway to clean the pan.

Also, I wish the set came with a 12" skillet. It does not, and as far as I know, there is no 12" skillet in the Espree collection, so I bought the 12" Infinite skillet. The only difference is that it has a steel handle, otherwise it seems to be just the same as the rest of the Espree collection.

Oh, and one more thing, the bottoms of the cookware are very thick, hard and durable. When my wife and I were deciding between the Circulon and Calphalon sets, we chose the Circulon because she thought the bottoms looked sturdier. It was 50/50 up until that point, and that's what sealed the deal for the Circulon.

I think they have a lifetime warranty too. It's a great set and I am very impressed.I recommend it highly.

Emeril by All-Clad E8844564 Restaurant Chef's 5-Quart Stainless Steel Dutch Oven Cookware, Silver

Emeril by All-Clad E8844564 Restaurant Chef's 5-Quart Stainless Steel Dutch Oven Cookware, SilverI got this exact pot elsewhere, but since everybody reads Amazon reviews, decided to enter mine here. It's a satisfactory quality pot, it cleans well, too. The only problem is that the lid doesn't fit tight enough it is loose andthere is a gap all around, so it makes it more difficult to strain (I lost some of spaghetti), and it takes longer to bring pot to a boil. Also, lid handle gets very hot.
