Lodge HHMT Max Temp Handle Mitt, Black

Lodge HHMT Max Temp Handle Mitt, BlackThis mitt is good at insulating handles from heat... one can hold the skillet comfortably without feeling the heat. I don't think this thing can resist as high temperatures as stated on the product description because mine has already scorched at the edge where it comes in contact with the pan and as a result the fabric is fraying badly. I have never left the mitt in place while cooking, I have only used it to move the pan from the stove to the sink or to lift the pan to serve meals from it so I guess that the black fabric covering the outside of the mitt is not very heat-resistant.

I got this and the Lodge 2 Piece Hot Handle Holder Set at the same time, and this product is a lot better. It's more substantial, thicker, and because it's thicker (although the same size) it fits the handle more snugly, therefore less slipping around.

It does tend to get warm if you leave the holder on the handle while cooking.I don't think that it will ever get hot enough to burn you, though. You should, at worst, feel a little discomfort, and you can just let go before it gets anywhere close to the burning point.I like to leave it on the iron skillets because it's so easy to just grip the iron handle without thinking about it.I didn't notice any searing of the material of this Mitt.

The problem is that if the holder gets wet, it becomes useless as a heat-resister.It doesn't happen often, but all it takes is a drop of water to burn you.

I would recommend the silicone based holders, like HotHandle™ Silicone Cookware Handle Holder that I also got at the same time that I got the Lodge mitt. And no, I'm not a sales rep for them.Even if they get wet, the water doesn't penetrate through the mitt, so you're safe.Actually, I wouldn't recommend this one It's sold by Target, not Amazon, and it's a little bit too long for most Lodge handles.

I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this product, but when I got it I liked it a lot.I can see where it might burn if left pushed all the way on the handle, but I just simply slide it back towards the end of the handle, leave it there, and when I need to move or lift the pan, just slide it back down all the way on.It works like a good quality pot holder, and is a bit non-skid so it tends to grip pretty good.It fits in the hand well, and works as designed.Convenient to use with cast iron since the heat travels up the handles well, and you always need a pot holder or rag to keep from burning your hands. This is a well made product that works as intended.I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this product to use along with my new Lodge cast-iron skillet.During the last three weeks, I've used the mitt on exactly six occasions.Because the mitt heats up if left on the handle of the skillet, I've been careful to remove it after each use.Yet the mitt is already falling apart--there are numerous cracks in the fabric and the stuffing has become exposed, despite extremely light usage.

I do not recommend this product.

I received this as a Christmas gift (along with a cast iron skillet and lid). The mitt lasted less than a monthit scorched, cracked, and then frayed, even though it was never used at a higher temperature than listed. I have since replaced it with a silicon version I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond and it works much better.

Presto 5900 1500-Watt Stainless-Steel Electric Wok

Presto 5900 1500-Watt Stainless-Steel Electric WokI was considering buying the Breville EW30XL wok but balked at the non-stick surface scratching issues that I'd read other consumers were experiencing. In all fairness to Breville this is what they wrote me about the non-stick scratching issue people are experiencing:

The coating used in our EW30XL is a very high quality coating called Quantanium, made by Whitford. We recommend using wooden utensils and avoiding the use of excessive oil. This product has less than a 1% defective rate currently.

I pondered buying the Breville EW30XL but ended up buying the Presto 5900 Stainless Steel Wok. I figured no matter how careful I'd be with the EW30XL it'd eventually become scratched due to my negligence just like the rest of my other non-scratch surface type kitchen pans.

I'm sure you wouldn't go wrong with the Breville EW30XL wok given the proper care and attention.

A few days after I purchased the Presto 5900 Stainless Steel Wok I tried out one of the recipes that came with the instructions and it came out great (Chicken with Snow Peas, Carrots and Bean Sprouts). The vegetables came out nice and crisp and the chicken wasn't tough or dried out. It was a big improvement over the way I used to cook stir fry which was cooking with a traditional wok, the kind with the ring that the wok sits on while it's cooking on the range. I cooked over a natural gas range that wasn't calorific enough to provide the satisfactory results needed for a good stir fry. This resulted in everything I stir fried coming out lukewarm and mushy.

One thing you'll have to pay attention to when you're cooking with the Presto 5900 Stainless Steel Wok, is that you'll have to have all of your "ducks in a row". In other words, you can't be reading the recipe trying to figure out what happens next in the recipe or cutting ingredients while the Presto wok is sizzling away at 375 degrees temp ... you might over-stir fry whatever you're cooking at the time.

The Presto 5900 Stainless Steel Wok is a nice unit and I can't wait to try other recipes with it. After so many years I've finally been able to enjoy a hot stir fried meal instead of my usual lukewarm and mushy stir fry. I really enjoyed that.

I almost forgot ... the short cord wasn't a problem for me, in fact, if it was any longer I'd have a conflict with all of the other cooking things I have clutteredon my counter top. I'd end up with a tangled, coiled up mess if the cable was any longer. In fact, the length was perfect. That doesn't mean the short cable length will work for everyone as we've read in the other reviews, so, you'd have to see for yourself to make the final decision. A small extension cord will fix any cable length issue so itshouldn't be a problem.

Good luck, everyone, regardless of what you end up buying.

I bought this wok because it was stainless steel as a non-stick version would have to be replaced much sooner because of the interior. This wok is very nice looking. It heats quickly with much of the outside area remaining cool to the touch. Clean-up is a breeze. The electrical cord is short but I use an extention cord to get it away from my cupboards.I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

I was reluctant to spend so much money on this wok, but after scratching my way through two inexpensive, non-scratch, I decided to take the chance.I'm very happy that I did.It heats quickly and evenly, and is surprisingly easy to clean. The only thing keeping this from having a five-star rating is the short cord.I understand that it must be short for safety reasons, but a just few more inches would be nice for placing the wok a bit farther from the wall.

If you found this review using a search engine, you are probably VERY interested

in how many quarts this thing holds.I was, when I researched woks, and NOWHERE

on the net was this listed.Sure, the dimensions are there but that includes handles, etc.I was trying to replace a 7 quart wok and might have settled for 6, but 5 would have been unacceptable.Someone at Presto really screwed up not providing this critical piece of information in their marketing write ups which are parroted all over the net, including at Amazon.I'm sure it is costing them sales.

Drumroll please......IT HOLDS JUST OVER 7 QUARTS.I almost did not buy this because of the aforementioned mystery but relented since it seemed to fit, in every other way, what I was looking for.I got lucky.

As for other aspects: The cover is real nice. The body is a bit lighter weight than I thought it might be but is acceptable. There are a couple of manufacturing flaws in the body which I will live with (a small deformation bump in the base and a small pit in the side) so don't expect a perfect product. The legs are screwed into the aluminum base and it would be real easy to strip the threads if you are not careful. The instructions warn about that. Two of the legs required tightening right out of the box, not a big deal. The legs smartly have rubber pads on the bottom to prevent slipping on the counter.I will confirm the control cord is short, but that is fine with me.Longer would actually be inconvenient. It seems to heat well, though I don't have a lot of experience with it yet.My needs are not heavy in that area.

Overall I am happy with it and, since it luckily meets my capacity requirements, I am giving it 4 stars. It would have been 5 if I did not have to guess at what I was buying and did not have the very minor flaws in the body.

Want Presto 5900 1500-Watt Stainless-Steel Electric Wok Discount?

The day this arrived I gave it the obligatory washing/drying and put it to use.We FINALLY were able to have some very good stir fry that very night.I want to thank other reviewers for accurately reporting that it heats up quickly and does a terrific job of holding heat for stir fry cooking.I especially want to thank those who said this performed as well if not better than non-electric stove top woks.

I've never been a fan of "non-stick" surfaces. They tend to break down.I've been down the "hammered steel" road with woks before and was never satisfied with their performance. The stainless steel finish on this cleans up easily and if you follow the instructions for adding water to the dirty wok and placing the lid on to remove food residue easily, you will not harm the finish.

To the reviewer who didn't like the shortness of the cord:Blame your federal government for that.

KitchenAid Hard-Base Porcelain Aluminum Nonstick 11-Inch Round Deep Grill Pan, Red

KitchenAid Hard-Base Porcelain Aluminum Nonstick 11-Inch Round Deep Grill Pan, RedI am SO in love with my KitchenAid grill pan. Nothing sticks to it! Believe me, I've given it lots of opportunities to let me down, and it always comes through. I've made steak fajitas, grilled chicken, salmon fillets all cooked perfectly, quickly and with those great grill marks to boot! Clean up is easy, too. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves cooking. A great buy!

I have been getting into watching The Food Network and many of the hosts use these grill pans for cooking everything from salmon to steaks. This pan seemed reasonably priced and of good quality so I ordered it.After washing it and preparing to use it to cook dinner, I then happened to read the fine print on the inside of the cardboard labeling.Do Not Use on Glass Smoothtop Electric Ranges as pan MAY FUZE TO COOKTOP.Not a good thing, so I returned it.Looked like it would work nicely for all other types of cooktops though.

I used this pan to sear Filet Mignon at very high heat.It heats very quickly. The grill marks are unusual (circular).

For this money it is a superior buy.

It cleaned up in a jiffy with no effort.

This is a good buy.

this pan is a super addition to my cookware.

a grill pan is SUPER important if you are cooking meat indoor.my steaks always looked grey and weird, but now they look tasty!and taste better!just sprinkle salt & pepper (and, for even more flavor, add some chopped garlic to each side of the steak) and it will be as good as if you had grilled it outdoors!and it leaves beautiful marks (especially if you don't move it a lot during cooking.)

also, it is SO SO SO SO easy to clean, everything just wipes/rinses off. I have never had anything stick to this pan.

a cast iron grill pan is also important, as the heat capacity of cast iron is better for things like cold hamburgers/steaks, but a nonstick pan is essential for delicate items like fish.also, you could not deglaze a cast iron pan (the acidity hurts the seasoning) so if you wanted to deglaze this pan is better.(although nothing sticks so there is no fond!)

Continental CE23721 Small Electric Grill

Continental CE23721 Small Electric GrillThis little skillet is not meant to replace something larger, but it's a great convenience and useful to take traveling. It took preparing two batches to make bacon and eggs for two, but they turned out perfectly, along with the fried potatoes that followed. I have even made complete meals fried a cup and a half of vegetables (they cook down), emptied them out and scrambled eggs, mixing together in a bowl when done. It's really a very versatile little pan for one or even two people. It would probably make good French toast and grilled cheese sandwiches, tho I have not tried them. It maintains a decently high heat so you can fry things well.

However, the handle is really not easy to remove. So I don't, which means some danger when it's on the counter with the cord hanging down. If you have kids, this pan is probably dangerous not only dangling parts if you don't want the effort of removing the handle, but it looks like a toy. You can't set a regular temperature, but you get used to using the tiny dial. I agree with the other reviewer that it would not work well with arthritis. The little glass lid works, but does not fit very well. Don't try to carry it with the lid on it it wobbles off. If the pan was hot, this would be an additional problem.

The non-stick coating has worked so far in terms of holding up, but it does stick a bit over the area that has the heating ring, and sometimes requires paying attention to keep from burning. Still, at the price, it's a very useful little tool for small, quick jobs like caramelizing a few onions for a dish that doesn't otherwise require frying, scrambling up an egg for a snack, reheating a serving of something that needs a birt of browning, and as a traveling companion. Despite its quirks, I love mine and would buy it again.

I am very satisfied with my grill. As others have said, the lid is not snugly fit, but then, I do not carry it around. It stays pretty much on counter when cooking.Thank you

I found that while the skillet does work, it is awkward to adjust temperature setting and the removable handle is not easy to work with.Anyone with arthritis in their hands and fingers would have a difficult time with this. And even with the handle removed, the skillet is not immersible. I will continue to use it, but would not buy another one.

Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 9-Inch Oval Skillet with Pour Spout

Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 9-Inch Oval Skillet with Pour Spout, Red GradientI just received this skillet this afternoon. It's a hefty little pan, with an excellent non-stick cooking surface. The pan is about an eight of an inch thick.

The product dimensions are way off, however. The pan itself is actually 6" x 9", and the handle is 7" long. The height of the pan is approximately 1-3/4 inches.

If you were to go by the product dimensions that are given, then you would be looking for a larger pan. This is not a large pan.

So it came on time and I love the color. It was just a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. I guess I didn't read the specs on it. I have a full set of Rachel Ray pots and I love them. I was just a little disappointed with this one. Not much I can cook for a family of seven in this.

Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan

Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan, 12-InchI have used these nano-ceramic, eco-friendly non-stick, supposedly non-toxic types of pans that are now becoming more popular. They are in fact wonderful for the first few months, until the nano-ceramic coating starts to wear off and IT DOES.The first one I had cooked eggs beautifully with no oil, they'd slide off and the pan was a dream to clean. After a while the shiny surface becomes matte and everything starts to stick.Which is inconvenient, yes.But worse is that the nan-ceramic particles must be going somewhere (into the food?) and the material underneath increasingly comes into contact with the food.I had the first one replaced by the store (Bed & Bath) and a second one did the same thing. No more nano-ceramico for me.

I bought these pans mainly because I had health concerns regarding the Teflon on my non-stick pans (Chalpalon). After reading several articles about more health concerns, I decided not to take the risks and look for alternatives. I saw an Ad in La Cucian Italiana (I'm a subscriber and I cook A LOT) and went to Amazon, read (few) raving reviews and bought three pans. I was persuaded by the fact that ceramic is non-toxic and this who-ha-ha so cool nanoceramic technology and I said to myself this is the real future of pans. Ceramic is a great cooking material for 1000s of years. Those Bialetti scientists had found a way to attach ceramic to Aluminum [that we all know how great (but toxic) it is for cooking)

I'm writing this review a month and a half into using these pans.

The good

-Great looks

-Heat evenly and fast!

-real non-stick

-lightweight

The bad

The nano-ceramic coating on the Aluminum is really "nano". it is so thin that i don't think I'm familiar with a measurement unit to describe it. It is thinner than a paper. it is thinner than a hair. it is as thick as...I really can't find any familiar object that is this thin. If something will come to mind, I will add it later in the review.

Now, you probably ask yourself, how do I know that?

Because after two weeks or so, i started to notice small gray dots on the rims of one of my pans. at first I thought that this is a small grain of something. When I took a closer look, I realized that it is a small hole in the nanoceramic coating that covers --->> Aluminum.

Since it was on the rims of my pan I used the pan more until today, when I found a small hole in the coating in the middle of my pan.

Now I can tell you that the coating is so thin that you can hardly feel the hole in it with your fingers (you have to try hard to identify the hole by touch).

The holes are 10th of a millimeter in diameter, but they are there. On the rims (the top circle) I have many of them by now but I have only one hole in one pan in the center of the pan.

Now a word about me and how I handle my kitchen tools:

I never wash pans and pots in the dishwasher. I wash them always the same night after they cool down. Same is true for my knifes.

In addition, nobody washes my dishes! moreover, I only use wooden spoons when I'm cooking.

I can't believe that I was the cause for these mini holes in the pans.

One more thing to emphasize it is not a scratch just tiny holes. After say 30 days of real use. The real concern here is the Aluminum under the coating which is surely toxic.

There goes ~$100 down the drain.

I will not recommend this product to anyone.

As many reviewers have said, this pan looses its non-stick qualities in a few months (3-4) even using low to moderate heat settings. This particular item is a waste of money...

Read Best Reviews of Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan Here

This is the greatest most convenient saute pan I've ever used by far.It cooks completely evenly and has a very solid feel to it.The insulated handle never gets warm.Nothing ever sticks to the surface, making clean up an absolute breeze. It doesn't have any of the chemical coatings whose safety has been called into question either, simply a ceramic nanotechnology--which I would call almost magical. All the starchy foods that were sticking to my other pans--potatoes, tofu, etcetera--get a brown crust but never stick.I rarely write reviews but this is the most useful piece of cookware that I own and I'm so pleased that I bought it after seeing a mention of it in my local paper.

April 18th 2013I have virtually abandoned these pans--I now use only the wok out of the set I bought.Instead, I use the Wearever ceramic pan set. They seem much more durable and less prone to staining, retaining their white properties for a much longer period of time.

Want Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan Discount?

I purchased the 10.25" version of this pan and for the first few weeks loved it.The nonstick coating is very easy to clean and I loved the color of the pan. However, less than a month after purchasing I too began getting chips in the middle of my pan.I emailed Bialetti's customer support to comment on this to them.I did not ask for a new pan, but simply was offering feedback, as well as inquiring about the safety of the now-chipped pan.The Bialetti representative acted as if I had demanded several free pans, asked for pictures of the defective pan (as if I would just troll the internet for unsuspecting cookware companies) and firmly stated that I would get a one-time replacement and that's it.She also stated I would have to ship my pan back at my own cost (!), although thankfully that at least went away when I sent pictures.

I did receive my one-time-only replacement pan, and it is not the same color (I really liked my black pan) AND it also has a chip, right in the middle of the pan.The poor customer service and the horrible longevity of the pan make this a no-buy.

Silit Fresh 11-Inch Fry and Serve Pan, Lemon Green

Silit Fresh 11-Inch Fry and Serve Pan, Lemon GreenIn my never ending quest to improve myhealth, I discovered that the nickel in stainless steel was affecting me adversely.I began searching for "nickel-free" stainless steel, and in a round about way, my Google Searches led me to the Silit brand of "allergy-free cookware".Amazon.com had the best price that I could find, so I ordered the 9 inch and the 11 inch "Fry and Serve Pans".

They are on the heavy side (they weight the same as cast iron). This is a bit of a challenge with the 11 inch Fry and Serve as I am trying to get the contents out and into a storage container.

I was nervous that they would fail to live up to the "non-stick" claim lucky for me, that fear was unwarranted. They are wonderfully "non-stick" (it is like cooking on glass).Clean up is a breeze.

Update International AFX-14H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 14-Inch

Update International AFX-14H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 14-InchSomehow I didn't realize how big a 14" pan would be. It's actually about 14.5" from edge to edge. The handle is another 11.5", making it hard to fit into a cupboard (I've settled for leaving it on top of the microwave). It's very heavy so heavy it's awkward to lift with one hand. The heavy base makes for pretty even heat distribution, better than I expected for an aluminum pan.

The non-stick finish is fantastic so far. It's great to have a large non-stick pan for big stir-fries, or for cooking four pancakes at once.

T-fal A7770764 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, RedI bought my first set of T-Fal nonstick cookware about four years ago. They consisted of a three pan set an 8 inch 10 and 11 half inch non-stick frying pans that sold for $27.00 on Amazon. These pans were a pleasure to own.I used the 10 inch pan exclusively for making eggs of all sorts and I probably made 1000 eggs in that frying pan and it lasted a good 3 1/2 years before the non-stick surface wasn't as non-stick anymore. This is why I opted to buy these 12 inch T-Fal pans.

These pans are easy to take care of, all you have to do is use common sense and do not use anything abrasive on the insides and you could scrub the outsides to your heart's content to keep them looking new.

As long as T-Fal is allowed to keep making these pans I will buy them forever and day with no regret.I recommend them highly. They are priced right and they last with a little common sense care.

It cleans up easily with hand washing but comes out nicely when put through the dishwasher.

I got this mostly for the extra surface area when cooking bacon and it does an okay job with that. The pan is larger than my electric burner and it doesn't distribute the heat to the pan's outer area. If I use it to make pancakes or hamburgers I have to rotate each item 180 degrees so it cooks evenly -if I don't it's burnt on the inside facing edge and not cooked on the outside edge. I expected the "superb conductivity and even heating" to be better. Maybe it works better with a gas burner. It seems sturdy after a few months and is a good non-stick surface.

The nice thing is that if the pot handle holder or the pan handle does get wet it will not scald my hand the way a combo cloth only, or a cloth and silicone pot holder does, plus it is easy to wipe dry on the outside.

Picking up a cast iron skillet, and trying to twist my wrist to pour out of it is slightly difficult with the pot handle holder on BUT it is MORE difficult using a regular pot holder, and this pot handle holder makes it easier in that I don't have to struggle with my grip plus trying to keep a pot holder wrapped around the handle. So at least half the battle is eliminated with this Pot Handle Holder.I can concentrate more on trying to maneuverer the pan and keeping a good grip on it rather than making sure a regular pot holder doesn't open up and burn me.I suspect this issue is due to my bad hands, and the fact my hands are rather small. For small hands, this Pot Handle Holder beats ANY regular pot holder by leaps and bounds.

I like how it snuggles right up against the pan enabling me to get a closer grip there for picking up the heavy pots and pans.I found out if I put the pot holder handle with the hole down, (it has a hole on the edge for hanging up on a hook, and also it is where the label is connected when it arrives), it snuggles very close to the pot, protecting my fingers from accidentally touching the side of the pan while gripping the handle.

I chose the color red to remind me the pan handles are hot, plus it makes it easy to find.

The inside of this item has ribs, which help grip the handle, (and peel garlic, see last paragraph below). If you leave the handle holder on the pot, yes it will become uncomfortably hot, the same if I put a pan in the oven with this holder on the handle.Luckily the grip is easy to slide on and off of the Lodge cast iron pan handles. It is also useful to hold the pan handle while stirring and frying. If they get too hot for comfort, I pull it off, and let it cool down 30 seconds or so when I pull them off the pan, they start cooling down immediately.Very nice.I like the ease with which I can slide the Pot Handle Holder on and off my Lodge cast iron pan handles due to the generous width of this pot handle holder.

Best of all, I love the price. And I love how it can fit all my other pots and pans' handles,(Kenmore line).

This particular pot handle holder also has another unique use I discovered.I can use it to peel garlic!Have you seen those garlic peelers that they sell that are rather expensive for just being a tube of silicon/plastic?You put in your garlic, then you roll it around on the counter top with the palm of your hand putting a slight pressure on the garlic inside as you roll a few back and forth rolls, and the garlic is peeled! The garlic skin is easy to remove out of the Pot Handle Holder because the holder is an even width from the opening all the way through to the end.Pretty nifty!I've been wanting to order one of those garlic, but now I don't need one. This pot handle holder works perfectly for peeling garlic.: )

I already own several Silicone based pot holders.None of them conduct heat as well as this one.In this case, as its stated goal is to not conduct heat, I would count this as a failure.

Its not without use, however you cannot leave the pot holder on the pan for any period exceeding a minute without it becoming excessively warm.

Not at all protective! It could burn you in just a few seconds! I used this Pot Handle Holder on an iron skillet that was only being heated to 350 degrees. I put the holder on, then immediately removed the skillet to place it on the stovetop not more than 10 feet away and it was already hot enough to feel very uncomfortable. My thumb was actually very pink from the excessive heat, but did not thankfully blister.

Doesn't fit any of my pot handles tight, but it works okay if you're careful. Also, if you try to use it on cast iron skillets, to gets too hot to pick up the pan. And I slipped it on the pan right before I wanted to move it, so it didn't have more than a minute to get that hot. So much for the high temp. it's supposed to be good up to.

This product is very big and awkward. It slips over handle but when you go to pick it up it allows the pan to slip and not turn it.It feels very insecure in my hand.I think it would work better for a cast iron pan or something with a big and thick handle.

Cuisinart FCT-10 French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart FCT-10 French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 10-Piece Cookware SetSo far I'm thoroughly pleased with this cookware. Looks great, comfortable handles, nice heavy weight, and most importantly, heats evenly without the hotspots found with less substantial cookware. Absolutely love the size of the 'dutch oven'. It's heavy enough and the perfect size for my 'no knead bread' recipe.

I'll admit to being a bit leery prior to purchase. Only announced in June of 2011, this line was an unproven commodity. We were leaning heavily toward the All-Clad stainless line. I decided to order the 1qt saucepan of the French Classic Cuisinart cookware to compare. After that we were sold.

Pros:

Induction compatible, which was a must for us as we plan on upgrading to an induction cook top.

Handles more comfortable than All-Clad (an individual thing I'm sure. Try them both if you can to see which you prefer.)

Price compared to other what I would call "better quality" lines of cookware like All-Clad, Viking's Pro line, ...

Interchangeable covers. The stock pot, dutch oven, and sauté pan all use the same size lid, and it also fits the 10" skillet.

Cons:

Selection. You can get a piece of All-Clad cookware in every size and style imaginable. Only a few pieces available in this line. But if what they offer is all you need...

Pouring. The non lipped style doesn't lend to pouring from pot or pan neatly. A guide spoon is needed if pouring slowly from a fuller pan. The plus side of that is well fitting lids.

A nice set overall that we're very pleased with. I'm no pro and have never really needed a Windsor, Sauteuse, or Paella pan. :)

Awesome set. Fast to heat up. Even heating. Foods don't stick. Comfortable handles. Great look and mirror finish all for hundreds of dollars less than all clad.

I recently purchased this set and just love it!I have the cuisinart gourmet green for non-stick cooking and it's terrific as well.My mom used Waterless stainless cookware for 40 years (I have that set) but this Cuisinart French Classic has it beat.Even heating, non-stick and easy clean up.It's nice to be able to cook on lower heat settings with fantastic results!

I purchased this 10-piece Cuisinart cookware set to replace a set of Revere ProLines that are falling apart (literally, the copper bottoms are dropping off). I thought my ProLines were pretty good, but the quality of the Cuisinart French Classic far surpasses what I've been using, with triple-thick walls, stainless form-fitting covers, and a nice balance in the hand with contoured handles. They are on the heavy side, but I like a substantial pan, they feel durable and I don't doubt they will last a lifetime. They heat quickly and cook evenly with less heat because of the aluminum core.

A few (minor) complaints: The large rivets for the handles on the inside of the pots are a little hard to clean up, but that doesn't affect my overall love of the cookware. Then they recommend plastic or wood utensils to preserve the glossy interior.I don't care so much about the insides, so I'll continue to use metal utensils on my cookware.I would have also liked to have seen another saucepan or two in this collection, but there are pieces that can be purchased separately.

There is a lifetime warranty on the French Classic line; Cuisinart appears to have their own repair center and offers a large variety of top-quality cookware should something need to be replaced.I cannot get Revere to honor their lifetime warranty on their ProLine pans, since they don't offer repair and they no longer make the line or anything comparable.

I highly recommend this cookware set if you are looking for something substantial and long-lasting.I would say these are on par with higher-end brands out there, and are relatively inexpensive compared to those.I'm very pleased with how they look, their durability, and how they cook.

This review will compare this set to a similar set available at Bed Bath and Beyond. For a general comparison to other brands of tri-ply, see my review of Cuisinart FCT33-28H French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and CoverAs you can read, the French Classic is constructed the same or better than other lines of tri-ply, but I really like how it looks. It's cost is similar, or cheaper than most lines. It performs great, and compares well to my outgoing Circulon set. It's also probably the only thing I own that's made in France, and I like to buy non-Chinese(quality and slave labor issues) when possible, so that's worth something.

The set at BB&B costs $240 if you use one of their 20% off coupons, which is quiet a bit cheaper than this set. They are both 10 piece sets. Both come with the same 8 and 10 inch open skillets, and a steamer basket. Both have a 2 quart sauce pat.Other than that, there's quiet a bit of difference. The BB&B set has glass lids, while this set has stainless lids.My 5.5 quart Sauté Pan came with the stainless lid, so I can compare the lids.I prefer the glass. The stainless lids are so shiny that they show smudges easier than the glass.I also like seeing the food cook. They probably both seal equally, but because you can see the food through the glass, you don't have to lift the lid as much, so the glass effectively keeps in more moisture.

Another big difference is the 3 quart sauté pan, which lacks a helper handle on the BB&B set.I like pans with a helper handle, because it's easier to move them around.I also like how you can balance the pan over the sink on the two handles while you fill it with water to soak.I wish the BB&B pan had a helper handle.

The BB&B set's 6 quart stock pot is 2 quarts smaller than this set's.It would be nice to have the larger stock pot.Another big difference is this set offers a nice Dutch oven, while the BB&B set offers a 1 quart sauté pan.You can bet that you'll use the 1 quart saute pan more than that Dutch oven, and you can buy a nice Dutch oven with the $160 price difference, and a larger stock pot if you need one, though not from the French Classic line.I already had one, and I already had a large stock pot.Note that you can't buy the larger 8 quart stock pot or the Dutch oven separately in the French Classic line. You can buy the Cuisinart FCT19-14 French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 1-Quart Saucepan with Cover separately, though.

I think the BB&B set is a good basic starter set, or a good set to buy to replace frequently used pans, like I did.You may already have the larger pans it's missing, or you can buy them with the price savings over this set.You may prefer the glass lids, as I do, or you may like the shiny metal ones on this set.The only thing this set has over the BB&B set for me is the helper handle on the 3 quart sauté pan.

You'll like either set, and both are great values when compared to other lines of tri-ply.I just think the BB&B set is a better value. In either case, consider if you will want to buy any other pans, and if you'll want them to match these sets, because there's hardly any open stock French Classic pieces.
