Guy Fieri 12-in. Pre-Seasoned Light Weight Cast Iron Fry Pan, BlackThe Guy Fieri lightweight cast iron is a dream come true. I love the health benefits of cooking on cast iron, but it's too heavy for me. This is not. The 12" pan weighs 67.2 oz (4.2 lbs), not the 2 lbs given in the Amazon description. That's still a few ounces less that my Lodge 8" skillet.

It is 12" across the top, with 8" of available flat cooking surface at the base. This wide flair makes it easy to scoop those last bits of food up and over the side into a waiting plate instead of picking up the pan to slide it out. If I do need to slide something like an omelet, it lifts and tilts easily with the handle in one hand and an oven mitt on the handle-less side.

The interior is cast iron with a bit of a swirl pattern. The pattern holds oil in small dimples, letting me use a fraction of the oil my old pans required. I use only one teaspoon of oil, and swab it about the pan with a silicone brush before adding the food. There's no sticking (including eggs!), but outstanding browning, in this pan.

The "black" exterior is really a very appealing charcoal gray. It is perfectly smooth for my ceramic cooktop, and also performs beautifully on my old electric stove.

Interior and exterior clean up easily, even after deeply browning a steak. Just hot soapy water and my fingers when the pan is deglazed and cooled. I have four pieces of this cookware 10 and 12 inch pans, 5 quart braiser, and 5.5 quart dutch oven... every other pan has been banished.



Excellent!The interior is smooth versus the old-school cast iron skillets.It is lightweight.It distributes heat very well.I threw out all of my non-stick skillets that are made and processed with all kinds of crazy chemicals and sealants.This is THE pan for cooking great food.I scramble eggs all the time and they don't stick.Clean up is a breeze.Hot water and a cloth and then re-season with a little oil.

Purchased the T-Fal pan to replace an older T-Fal pan. I wanted a pan which had smaller diameter that would fit/cover the large burner on our electric cooktop. The pan fits perfectly. Heats up rapidly and maintains constant heat. The large handle and auxilliary front handle are great when cooking/serving large dishes such as beef stew, cabbage and sausage and preparing any large dish. The glass dome cover contains moisture from cooking while venting enough steam to prevent overcooking. My only negative comment would be that the cover handle is small and you can burn yourself . Other than this the oan is a winner!

I bought this to go with a set of 12 I believe of almost identical pans. I thought this was about the only thing I thought the set needed to make it complete for my kitchen. I cook a lot of large meals so there's leftovers to make other nights easy. And what can I say except this pan is perfect! I couldn't be happier. The size is great for my needs. The second handle is very useful because of course if I'm cooking a lot of food in it it will be heavy so using both handles to pick it up adds more stability. Nothing sticks in it and it's very easy to clean. I think this pan would make a great addition to anyone's kitchen.

got my pan at costco.only have used a couple of times and food totally sticks to surface.i seasoned the pan when i first got it.i wash as instructed and use only the right kinds of utensils.i really don't want to deal with taking it back.was hoping when i went online that i would find somebody that solved the same kind of problem.t-fal or somebody help!

This is a superb product.It works great in both modes and really does defrost things quickly as well...something I was a little sceptical of.

Compared to the price for grill pans it was a REAL bargain and does the job as well or better because there are no issues of being able to get at the meat to turn it.I would love a bigger one that covers more than one burner!

I bought this on 8/21/08 solely to cook chicken and steak in the COLD Cleveland, Ohio months when I didn't feel like starting my outdoor propane grill this winter (2008-09).

I had no idea of it's touted claim of "defrosting foods quickly" until I actually had it in my home and read the brochures in the box.THIS THING IS INCREDIBLE!I kid you not, stuff that would take 6-8 hours to thaw on my counter-top are ready in about an hour(or less!).It's like Magic!!

A helpful-hint:If you want "grill-marks", put it in a 500-degree oven for 10 minutes or so before putting it on your stove-top burner....This thing hold a lot of heat!

...I personally like my steak "Mooing" on the inside but with a nice crust of seasoning and/or flesh-cooked about 1/32nd inch on each side.If I have a really 'nice' piece of meat, I've left the grill in the 500-degree over for upwards of 15 minutes before putting it on the stove-top and adding the piece of meat.

You certainly don't need to "pre-heat" it in the oven and you wouldn't want to if you were making say, a pancake or an egg....From 'Cold' to stove-top, DO pre-heat for 6-10 minutes at medium-high.

This is the drawback:I actually love the one I got so I wanted to buy another one!I originally paid $13.26 on 8/21/08 for this wonderful thing.--It's a little more than a month later, 9/30/08, and the price has more than doubled to $32.32!

It's NOT worth $30+ but it is worth $15.If it's 'On Sale' for $15 or less, BUY IT!You won't regret it if for nothing else than it's Quick-Defrost Magic!!

Nordic Ware Professional Weight 10 Inch Texas SkilletHere are my early observations:

(1) Works on both induction and smooth-top ceramic burner

(2) Is properly balanced so stays flat with or without weight of food

(3) Holds 1.5 quarts with room to spare; 1 quart comfortably if stirring

(4) Cooks evenly without hot spots

(5) Pours without dripping

(6) Cooked over-easy eggs nicely with zero grease, not even spray

(7) Made of heavy gauge ferrous metal except handle which stays cool

(8) Non-stick interior, enamel exterior cleans up with ease

It came without a cover but I found a glass one that fits perfectly at Goodwill. The skillet's handle has a hole for hanging, which I like. One reviewer suggests that the quality of these changed somewhere along the line. If that is true, mine, which I bought in June 2011, is the older, better quality. Could be, actually, as it was hanging around in a small rural Kmart with a sale price on it. But more likely the quality never changed and they are just nice, heavyweight cookware. Will update as I gain experience with this skillet.

WHEN THIS PAN IS COLD IT LOOKS FLAT, BUT AS SOON AS IT IS HEATED, THE BOTTOM BECOMES WARPED AND ROUNDED, CAUSING THE PAN TO BECOME UNSTABLE ON THE STOVETOP. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN FRYING WITH HOT OIL. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE PRODUCT.

I thought because of this pan's heavy weight & "Tri-ply metal construction" and claim that it "provides even heating and rugged durability," that I would like it. NOT so. It immediately warps over medium heat so that it cooks only in the middle. Plus, it seems to burn things over the same medium heat at which my other skillets cook just fine.

It might have "professional weight" but this semi-professional cook hates it.

Save yourself some grief & buy any other skillet but this (though I would suggest a T-Fal product).

I love this pan. I have had my pan for over 4 years. I have had none of the warping that some reviewers mentioned. Most modern pans use low to moderate heat. I usually go with a moderate heat setting. I love the clean up, since it does not splash grease all over my stove, the pan itself is easy to clean. I have many other pans, many different makes, but this is my favorite.It cost a lot less than my other pans and I have not had any problems with the nonstick coating.Admittedly, I am careful with my nonstick pans, I don't pile them unless I put a dishtowel between them to protect the pan.I wash by hand so I don't know the affects dishwashers have on pans.But for my money this is a great buy, and made in the U.S.A. I can't ask for anything more. I know the picture does not show it, but there is a steel handle opposite the handle.I usually use it to help lift the pan if I have to drain something off. This is a large pan, and if you are cooking a large amount it comes in handy.

It's a solid lid, but it's slightly bigger than the T-fal pan.. So I was a bit disappointed. I'm still going to use it, but it would've been nice if it were a perfect fit..

Delivery was on schedule.The product is priced OK, just wish it fit the 12.5 in T-fal pan that I bought it for.I will use it anyway, although I really fault T-fal for not having a snug fitting lid for their non-stick fry pan.

I've been looking for a lid just like this one to fit my 12.5" Swiss Diamond pan for quite some time but was put off by the price of the brand that matched its name. I also found that the matching lid had poor ratings due to a tendancy to shatter seemingly without cause. When I found this one so reasonably priced, I decided to give it a go and it functions beautifully. It's not a snug fit like it was made just for this particular pan but it more than does the job. The only drawback is that the handle will come loose now and then but this should not dissuade anyone from considering it. A light twist and it's ready to go to work again. I would highly recommend this lid!

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch and 12-Inch Skillet Twin PackI admit, I was hesitant to purchase these, because of the price. I have never paid more than 100 bucks for an entire set of pots and pans, to pay half that for only two... but it was worth it. These pans are amazing and the food slips off of them. Cleaning them is very easy. the best feature is the height on the sides, which allow you to cook dishes with sauce or that need mixing, without it falling over the edge to the stove top. The rubber handle is a good grip. The only "con" is that they are very heavy, not that its really a con with the 10 inch pan, but the 12 inch pan is huge and heavy, making it a little awkward to cook with (and i have a little stove, 20"). But would buy again. I don't know if I would pay 250 for the whole set though, but these are the most used out of my set that needed replacement.



Bought these and a new induction cooktop together. They work well, cook evenly and cleanup in the dishwasher. Altogether, everything I wanted in a pan.

I have a full set of All Clad copper core.I purchased the Circulon simply because I cannot teach my wife the proper use of stainless steel frying pans and she complains that everything sticks, so I bought these.

They do not stick, even without any oil.

The caveat I have for the other comment that the rings inside the pan cause sticking.Its not the rings, it using too high of heat. Never go above medium and you will not burn food.

These are reasonably priced compared with ALL CLAD which is designed to last a lifetime.

BUT, I highly doubt they will remain non stick for more than a year or so without the coating coming off. but at this price, they are worth replacing every few years.

I still would not use metal metal utensils even though Circulon says its ok.

Nice medium weight pan.

I am thrilled so far with these skillets.I am not having any problem with the ridges in the skillet as you can't even really feel them.Nothing has stuck or even started to stick.So far very happy with my purchase.I would and already have recommended.I also want to add that when it say 10 and 12 inch, that is exactly the cooking are you have.Some of the pans say 12 inch and that is the measurement across the top and the bottom only measures about 9.That is not the case with these pans....

Fissler Vitaquick Quattro-SetI received this pressure cooker a a set for Christmas and I'm very impressed with how it works.I've used it for pulled pork, black eyed peas and collards for New Year's and used the smaller, skillet size pressure cooker for making some Yukon gold mashed potatoes (I used a ricer to mash--the cooked potatoes stayed dry since they were in the perforated pan above the water).My next project will be to make beef broth using some roasted bones and beef shanks.This pressure cooker comes up to pressure quickly and it didn't take me long at all to figure out how to keep it at the correct pressure using my gas range.The taste of the food is outstanding--this is the first time that I've made black eyed peas that the flavors I put in the pan actually melded in a very good way (and I do know how to make black eyed peas the Texas way).My last pressure cooker was a "jiggler" Presto and I was comfortable using it as I had grown up with these types of pressure cookers.But when I decided to upgrade, I did a lot of research and decided that the advanced European models were the way to go.I also weighed the Kuhn-Rikon but picked the Fissler as my choice.There were a couple of small things in the Kuhn Rikon reviews that steered me to the Fissler.Yes, they're expensive but I've found over the years that money paid for good equipment is money well spent.The lid is easy to put on and the latch is definite.The cooker is quiet after coming up to pressure although there is a bit of steam that escapes from one of the valves while it is coming up to pressure but once that valve closes the blue/white rings show what pressure you are using and no more steam escapes.Highly recommended.

I make meals with this weekly to make beans, rice, oatmeal,meats and vegetables. I work and have to make meals quickly in the evenings and this allows me to tackle things like making hummus from dry garbanzos an hour after I arrive home. The pressure cooker is very well made and except for the seal which may need a replacement every few years this will last a lifetime.

Farberware P08-033 fry & sauce pan handle, long.I had been struggling with a cracked handle on my Farberware fry pan for years. Finally, I solved that problem. This handle fit perfectly and was easy to install just a screwdriver.

Oh, but no new screw came with the handle. I had to use the original screw that came with the pan when I bought it. So don't throw the old screw away with the broken part. Just a warning.

This handle works great.My installation was a breeze once I heated the pan on the stove.By doing so the handle receptacle expanded and allowed for a perfect fit.Start by threading the screw through the handle and into the sauce pan until the handle just starts for its way into the receptacle for the handle.Then heat the pan until hot, add a few more turns to the screw, and repeat this process until the handle is completely seated into place.

This is a great way to keep from replacing the entire pan, and at a quarter of the price as well.

Part does not fit into mating square of pan without filing all four sides of the handle. Also, the screw hole is so far off, the head of the screw does not clear the wall of the pocket. I had to redrill the hole and grind the head of the screw.

If you need to replace the screw, it is a #10-24 x 1-1/2" long. I used a button head hex socket drive as my replacement. I recommend stainless because it will be going into the dishwasher. The new screw fit well into the old (broken) handle, but as I mentioned, the head would not clear the handle's pocket without rework.

I hope this is a knock off and not a Farberware product. Either way it will give them a bad name.

UPDATE: I called Farberware to complain about the quality of the handle and to see if I could get a replacement. They informed me that while it is likely their product, they have not made this handle for two years. Online vendors are working through their existing stock. I did find out that my pan was, remarkably after 25 years, still under warranty. So, I do have the option to return the entire pan.

FYI The Farberware rep informed me this handle was designed to fit their products made from the mid-70's through the late 90's. She gave me the exact years, but I do not recall what they were at this point. Good Luck.

I had a hard time getting this handle to fit onto my saucepan the angle was slightly different where the handle meets the pan. My Farberware is over 30 years old, so that may be why. The handle itself is well-made and looks good.

This handle does not fit the opening of my Farberware pan. I have been working on it all afternoon with a file to make it fit. I think I finally have it fairly close. Now, I have to find a screw because the handle did not come with a new screw and my old one is very worn. We'll see how that goes.

My first 'good' frypan and I see now why it's good. Others, with the real cladding only on the bottom, can have burning or unwanted hot spots where the cladding stops (especially on sloped sided pans). This, with cladding all the way up, this doesn't happen. I don't think the price can be beat.

This is a perfect way to spruce up plain old corn bread, by making it look like perfect ears of corn!My kids love it and it looks very nice when serving guests.I have one that was passed down to me and I am ordering this pre-seasoned one also because one pan is never enough!I wish they offered a pan that cooked more at one time.This is a great investment and works better than products that cost three times as much.

I HAVE USED THESE BEFORE WHEN I LIVED IN TEXAS. I HAD TO LEAVE MINE. AND WHEN I FOUND THESE I HAD TO GET THEM. I LOVE THE LITTLE EARS OF CORN THEY MAKE. IFORGOT HOW TO USE THEM SOME OF THEM STUCK BUT I REMEMBERED YOU HAVE TO OIL THEM AND THEN PUT THEM IN THE OVEN TO PREHEAT AND THEN TAKE THEM OUT THEN PUT THE CORN MEAL IN . I PUT MINE IN A ZIPLOC BAG AND CUT THE CORNER SO IT WASN'T MESSY AND IT WAS SO EASY TO REAL FILL THEM WHEN THEY CAME OUT OF THE OVEN.

When I was a kid in the '60s, I used to visit my maternal grandparents in southeastern Kentucky with whom my mother's younger brothers still lived. Hot, freshly baked cornbread was a staple day in and day out and the most coveted pieces were the corners. With this Lodge pan, every cornstick essentially is a "corner" piece as each stick has a high "crust ratio." People complain that the sticks end up sticking to the pan but if you use it correctly, that's not a problem. Be sure to heat the pan in the oven, pull the pan out with mitts or potholders, use a small basting brush to oil each well with a bit of corn oil or bacon drippings, fill the wells with batter about three-quarters full to the top and bake according to your recipe, usually about 12 to 14 minutes. Use the tried-and-true test for doneness, using a clean wooden toothpick. The cornsticks should be easy to remove with tongs.

Surprisingly light and thin but with plenty of cooking surface, this griddle is perfect for saving space in the kitchen.There's enough surface area to cook eggs, pancakes and bacon for our whole family at once, so everyone gets a hot breakfast.When we're finished cooking, we pop it into the dishwasher for easy cleaning and store it in the cupboard with our cookie sheets.

It heats up quickly and has an even temperature across the entire surface with no noticeable hot and cool spots.So far it has been sturdy and reliable.For the ~$18 we paid for it, this griddle was an excellent value.I would recommend this item.

Once I found the perfect recipe to make beautiful golden, light, high-rise pancakes, I knew I needed an electric griddle that would accommodate large 5"-6" pancakes. This Presto handles the golden part just fine, but it's not big enough to handle more than two IHOP-sized pancakes at a time. So I've opted to order a second one, which will add to my griddle real estate, and produce the golden tan pancakes that I've come to love. I like the presto because it maintains its temperature and the plate is heated uniformly with no hotspots. The non-stick surface allows me to use less butter. Presto makes larger griddles, but having two of the smaller size seems to work well for my purposes.

The Perfect Pancake

Important: Mix the batter as little as possible. Lumpy is good. Over mixing causes the moisture to combine with the gluten in the flour to form glue that prevents the gas (formed by the baking soda) from letting the pancakes rise as they cook. So stir as little as possible to just mix the ingredients.

1. Mix the following dry ingredients in a bowl:

2 ½ cups all purpose flour

¼ cup of granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon kosher salt

2. In a different separate bowl, mix the following wet ingredients:

2 cups buttermilk

2 cups sour cream

2 large eggs scrambled

4 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

3 tablespoons sweet cream butter, melted

3. Add the mixed dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients. Stir until just blended, but still lumpy. (Do not over mix)

4. Preheat Presto griddle to 350-degrees.Pour batter by ¼ -cupfulls onto griddle.

Two cons for me, but neither is the products fault: it's really big I think the 14" diameter is the base, the top flairs out to several inches more. Think of where you'll store it before you buy it.The second is common to all teflon aluminum pans -you're not supposed to cook with higher than 'medium' heat -that REALLY draws out the cooking time. Again, not the product's fault-i should have known.

I dont actually believe the title of this applies to the revolver shaped egg fryer, but its still pretty rad. The first thing that struck me when I saw it was the shape. It was clearly shaped like a gun, how sweet is that! I have been trying to think of ways to casually weaponize breakfast for sometime, and was delighted to find that this bad boy does the job. My eggs are so dangerous now, that I get lady babes visiting me just to have some of these bad ass gun shaped eggs i throw down breakfast steezy! Nothing goes better with my morning glass of Tuscan milk than eggs, and pancakes (I use that thing for pancakes too) shaped like guns. Often times, in the mornings I am reminded of how bad ass I am because of the gun shaped eggs I am eating. Every morning, before I go sells shoes and underwear at work, I think, "jesus I am dangerous and all because of my revolver fried eggs... ...and the three wolf moon shirt I wear on the daily." If you do your research you will find other gun shaped egg awesome makers too, I like the one with silencer.I cant wait to spend 8 dollars on this fantastic product...

It does not work for eggs, but should work for pancakes or cookies. Eggs are too runny and if your pan is not perfectly flat, the egg just runs out from underneath the sharper.

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 10 Inch Saute PanI've been on an American made mission for a few years and wanted to replace my very expensive Chinese made Stainless steel cookware with All Clad which is made in America.I buy one pieceof All Clad pot a month on sale and was desparate for a non-stick pan which seemed to take forever to go on sale.My husband and son kept cooking eggs in the regular saute pan and it was a hassle to clean it.I found out that Nordic Ware was making cookware (they are famous for their bundt pans).I checked Amazon and found this pan for less than 1/4 of what All Clad would cost me on sale.I read that the pan was lightweight so I was surprised how heavy it is.I would call itmedium weight and only slightly lighter than my All Clad pan of the same size.The difference is that the Nordic Ware has a hollow handle.It also has a dull, brushed aluminum look exterior (although it is steel) as opposed to the shiny stainless exterior but for what I paid I can overlook it.I'm really happy with the pan and with not having to scour eggs and other sticky things out of the pan.I love All Clad but I'm really impressed with Nordic Ware and it is American made. You could spend two to three times more for cheap Chinese made pans
