Wolfgang Puck 12" Covered Non-Stick Everything Pan

Wolfgang Puck 12' Covered Non-Stick Everything PanI was actually looking for a reasonably priced pan in the 14" size before coming to the conclusion that 12" was as large as I was going to find if I wanted an included glass lid. Not being familiar with Wolfgang Puck cookware, I went to a store to "put my hands on it". This pan was sold out but I was able to look at other Puck items and they all seemed to be well made and well designed. The prices in the store made buying on line a much better deal.

Shipping was more than reasonable free and the pan arrived within a few days of ordering.

I skimmed through the paperwork and noted the key points.

The pan has a clad bottom and heats very evenly. I have noticed that it does not require as high a heat setting as my other pans. It does take a few minutes to come up to temperature; paperwork says to pre-heat. The non-stick surface seems to be very durable and is quite easy to clean but I have noticed that it is getting worn on the very upper rolled edge of the pan. This is a minor disappointment that has no effect on the function of the pan but I could not give the pan five stars because of this issue.

On to the handles...

Obviously the pan is different in that instead of having one long handle it has two man hand sized handles on either side. Though I keep pot holders handy I have yet to find a heat setting that requires them. This design does take some getting use to. Your hand is turned slightly different when steadying the pan wile turning food. You have to use two hands to move the pan a distance. This actually seems to be safer and less awkward than moving the one long handle style pan. I have found that the weight in the pan is balanced so I can't really call having to use two hands a draw back. This pan is much simpler to store than my one handle pans and always stores flat. The glass lid protects the nonstick surface if stacked.

Over all I am very pleased with the performance of the pan. I am also pleased with the entire purchase experience and feel like the value for my dollar is good.

At first this pan was great, I used it for everything. I always hand washed it & never used metal cooking utensils. I purchased this item on 03/01/2011 it is now 02/16/2012 & I can no longer use this pan because the non stick finish is peeling so badly.I recently purchased a new pan to replace this one & it is not wolf gang puck. I was trying to find out if there is a warranty on this pan but haven't found any information yet. Great pan until it started peeling.

When they called this the "Everything Pan" they weren't kidding. I keep it on top of my induction cooktop, ready to make anything at a moment's notice: Breakfast omelet, scrambled hamburger and onions for lunch, pork chops and sauerkraut for dinner. Cleanup is just a swish under the hot water, a quick drying, then back to its home on the range. This was a great buy and the Wolfgang Puck quality is top-notch.

Have used this several times...it is replacing 2 other pans of the same size that I've worn out.It works well for everything from eggs in the morning to dinner in the evening and works well if you are serving company buffet style. It cleaned up in a breeze!!!My only issue is that has alread developed a scratch in the coating... If you have have never had a pan like this I'm sure you will find it as useful as I have...I could almost never put it away and just leave it on my black glass cooktop as it looks so nice. The price was nice also.

Chef's Design Griddle

Chef's Design GriddleAfter shopping around for a long time and looking at a lot of griddles in the stores, I took a leap of faith and ordered this one on-line, without having seen it in person.I couldn't be happier. It is a heavy design, but without the inconvenience of cast iron.I didn't think I would like the higher sides than most griddles, but it turns out to be really convenient.I bought it to go over an oval center burner in a new gas stove but it is a bit too large to heat up evenly and using it across two side burners actually works better as I can still use the other side. One thing to note, I bought it because I thought it was American made, but it turns out to be yet another item that corporate bean-counters have taken out of the hands of American workers and shipped overseas to China.

Picked up this great deal when it was on sale -didn't really need it at the time, but thought it would be nice to have for Sunday mornings.I was VERY impressed with the quality and weight of griddle.I haveelectric burners and while the heat was not PERFECTLY distributed, it was very close.A nice heavy duty griddle with a nice design.

I've been looking for a larger griddle for some time. I had no idea they came THIS large without being attached to their own power source, though. I have a gas stove as opposed to the flat top stove recommended, and this griddle fits well and works great. I love being able to cook all of my food in one batch. This is a quality product and I am very happy to own it.

Farberware Nonstick Aluminum 3-Piece Skillet Set

Farberware Nonstick Aluminum 3-Piece Nonstick Skillet Set, CharcoalThese pans are not worthy of the Farberware name, unfortunately...They are far too thin -this leads to burnt food, warping, etc. The Teflon coating is the el-cheapo kind, a far cry from the superior coating you find on Farberware's upper-end Millenium models...

These pans do not deserve the Farberware name. The thin metal will torch your food if you are not careful, and the cheap nonstick material will not last long. This gets two stars because of the low, low price.

Do yourself a favor, and instead buy one quality Calphalon Commercial Nonstick pan on sale. They aren't that much more than this set, if you look hard enough, and they last forever.

I ordered the three pack "First Course" set, supposedly a heavyweight Farberware product as I've seen in stores.I received a light weight, flimsy product called "Cook'n Ease" that was so thin you could easily burn food and warp the pan in no time.Very disappointed.

Very lightweight, I don't know if that is good or bad. Judging the product based on its appearance I expected more. My empty 12 cup coffee maker weighs more than these three pans combined.

They do let you cook in them without anything sticking. Simply put, you get three basic fry pans to use without fear of losing major income if they get ruined. As with most nonstick, don't use high heat as the manufacturer indicates.

Very thin..handles get very hot... coating was bubbling and flaking off after the first grilled cheese sandwich. I paid under 3$ after a rebate... and you get what you pay for. These shouldn't have the farberware name on them. they are to good a brand to put out such a shabby product.

HIC Brands that Cook Essentials Stainless Steel Splatter Screen

HIC Brands that Cook Essentials Stainless Steel Splatter Screen, 13-InchI bought two of these in different sizes.Excellent.I like the handle (much better than the silly knob in the middle of some such lids).Well made.Fine mesh stainless steel, will clean easily without rusting. My last splatter lid had a sort of thick mesh, with gaps inside it where it was impossible to clean. These don't.

Spatters go through the screen.Same cleanup as without so not impressed.Maybe I expected too much and hoped it would reduce the stove cleanup.

If you care for this item it will last a long time. Splatter screens are good for stopping splatter but also good for keeping heat in a a pan. It helps the food cook a little faster without totally blocking the airflow. I like to use it when the eggs are almost done cooking and you turn it off to set. It keeps the heat in the pan to finish off the eggs. I have also used it to set fried foods on to drain, and as a cooling rack for the to many cookies I baked. :) Think outside of the box and you will have lots of uses for your kitchen tools...no unitaksers! :)

This griddle was bought as replacement for another that was losing its non-stick coating. I was disappointed that this one was smaller. It is advertised as 10 1/4 inches, but this is OUTSIDE measurement. My old one is 10 1/4+ on the INSIDE. Inside measure is ~ 9 3/4 inches, a tight fit for 4 burgers, which the old one handled easily.

The non-stick feature seems sturdy, and did 2 burgers with minimal clean-up.

The griddle is 'handle-heavy'. When I put it on to heat before adding food, it wanted to tip toward the handle.

I'll probably keep it, but I don't consider it a suitable replacement and haven't tossed the old one yet. It will handle light duty well. I've only used it a couple of times, but haven't noticed any warping. Sometimes if aluminum is cooled too quickly (thrust under cold water when very hot), it can warp. This one is light enough, this could easily happen.

I am enjoying this pan and believe it will serve me well. However I thought I was getting a pan with the red ready indicator in the center and I did not. The key I believe is to not cook above Medium heat. I had used non stick pans at much higher heat in the past and I blame their breakdown on that mistake. So for the two months I have owned this pan I am happy with it.

Sandwich Maker

Sandwich MakerWhile this particular product does as described, make sandwiches, the locking mechanism fell out the 3rd time I used it.Easy enough to fix, but it should not have happened at all. I'll keep it only because it was inexpensive & I can fix it.But when it comes to purchasing another, I would look for a different style.

Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 6535.30 12-Inch Crepe Frying Pan with Bronze Handle

Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 6535.30 12-Inch Crepe Frying Pan with Bronze HandleI have been making crepes for 30 years, using various frying pans.I fry my crepes in butter at high heat, getting a beautiful golden-brown finish. The thinner pans heat quickly for fast cycle-times, but also heat unevenly because of poor heat distribution. Most recently I have been using All-clad copper-core 12" frying pan which works pretty well, but I wanted the very low-profile edge, and the heavy copper for the ultimate even-heat distribution.

So I bought this Mauviel 12" crepe pan, which is 1.5mm copper with a stainless lined interior.Mauviel has 3 different handle options for most of the cookware stainless, cast-iron or bronze. For this pan, I could only find the bronze.

The handle has turned-out to be the biggest problem.First of all, this is a heavy pan, weighing nearly 4 pounds. The handle is just too thin it is barely an inch wide, and about 1/4" thick. It is just uncomfortable to work with lifting, rotating, flipping the crepes with this handle built like a butterknife. But, by FAR the biggest problem is that the bronze handle conducts a ton of heat from the pan up the handle.By the time I made maybe 4 or 5 crepes, the handle was so hot I couldn't touch it anymore. So I had to grab an oven mitt and use that for the remainder of the batch.

I don't understand how a company that has been making cookware since the Andrew Jackson administration hasn't yet figured-out how to make pan handles that are cool and comfortable to use??I NEVER have this problem with my All-clad.Why doesn't Mauviel redesign the handle, or at least offer a silicone handle sleeve to fit their pan handles? Is this the best they can do for $250?

So now I am looking for a silicone handle sleeve that will fit which is a nightmare because no one publishes any dimension on these sleeves, except the length. So it will be trial and error until I find one that fits properly.

On the positive side, the pan worked as well as I could have hoped: it resulted in beautiful, uniform, even browning and absolutely nothing stuck to the nicely polished stainless.Of course, being raw copper, the exterior quickly oxidized with a pattern of bluish/purplish colors in the pattern of the gas burner. It is relatively easy to bring it back to new with copper cleaners, but I'm not sure if I will bother doing that every time.I bought this for its cooking performance, not as an art object.

Update Aug 2012: I did find a silicone handle that works really well a 'black silicone pan handle for 14" pans' (product #806849) from US Foods Culinary E&S Next Day Gourmet Black Silicone Pan Handle 6-1/4"L For 14" Fry Pans that was very inexpensive. This makes all the difference in the world. WITH the handle, I will upgrade the rating from 3* to 5* it makes that much difference. Never mind the 1* review on the handle it fits perfectly on this pan.

Perfect crepes every time. Great addition to kitchen and mauviel collection.

Easy to clean and use. We love love love it.

Mario Batali Silicone Pot Handle Sleeve/Grip Mitt, Pesto

Mario Batali Silicone Pot Handle Sleeve/Grip Mitt, PestoI purchased 2 of these Mario Batali silicone handle grips for my lodge skillet and frying pan...and was a little sceptical based on the 2 inch slits at the base of these grips..but thought they look great so gave them a chance since they were priced decently.

They came and did look and feel good..however as i expected..don't expect to lift a cast iron pot, pan or anything with these on..your hand will end up getting burned because the grips don't fit snugly, as they are a little large..the grips in general..and so the slits do open up and expose the base of the handle anyway if you try and lift a pan with these, thats why i had to give the product 3 stars and not 4 or 5.. if you are just using them on the stovetop and are handling pots and pans just on the stovetop with no intention of lifting anything hot..then they're OK and are worth buying.

The slits are Just too large in my opinion, they should've been no more then an inch, that way a cast iron pot or pan can be lifted from the stovetop without fear..but since the slits are 2 inches long, which is a pretty large slit..these are useless as far as taking cast iron from the stove to the oven or anywhere else..you'll need to use a kitchen towel anyway.

All in all just OK..not fantastic.

As Joy mentions above, the slits are a major issue, but I wouldn't even say they are "just OK". This is a fatal flaw! Did Signoro Molto even try these things out at some point in the design process? First of all, don't try reaching into the oven to grab a pan handle with one of these. If you can get the *entire sleeve* over the handle to spin it around (difficult in smaller ovens like mine), you ain't gettin' that pan out. Like to choke up on the handle for sauteeing in larger pans or cast iron (a necessity for those of us without Mario's Shrektastic physique)? Prepare to enjoy the delicious aroma of your own searing flesh when the slits open up and expose the hot metal to your skin.

This seemingly fabulous improvement over the plain-old silicon sleeve is a major fiasco. When will we learn that being a celebrity chef and TV personality DOES NOT qualify you to design kitchen gear?!

If you're looking for a sleeve by the way, try a classic like this -in green even! Not as sleek, but I've used one like this for years and never had an issue.

love the color.. thats the best i can say about this product.. it looks nice and it looks like it should fit most handles , but it is a sloppy fit. it has slits and holes and very loose on most every handle. it falls off even.. i gave it away.. at best it could be used for a easy slip off and on usage for several pan in use at one time. but that could be dangerous..dont get this one if your looking for safety and good fit.

This little Pot Handle Sleeve is great. We only bought the one so that we could evaluate if it properly fit the cookware we use.It slides on like a glove and functions perfectly. It is a bit of a tight fit so you might want to make sure you put it on before you've heated up your pots and pans to a few hundred degrees, but once on you can't even tell that the pot is anything besides room temperature. We will definitely be ordering a few more of these.

I have Cast Iron (by Griswold) and Stainless Steel AllClad handled skillets and I though that these silicone sleeves would be good to use on those hot handles. At the discontinued prices of these things, I thought they would be a bargain (after all, how do you screw up a silicone sleeve).

These sleeves have a huge slit on one side of the sleeve that basically lets the skillet handle make direct contact with your hand INSTANTLY.The slit is HUGE and there's so much play in the sleeve that rotating the sleeve that it feels like I'm using an oven mit to hold the skillet.

Even for 10 cents this product is totally not worth it ----I THREW THEM AWAY.

Scanpan CTX Cookware Set, Silver, 5-Piece

Scanpan CTX Cookware Set, Silver, 5-PieceI purchased a set of these pans about 2 years ago. My husband can't even screw them up!! I've had at least 6 different brands of pans, some quite pricey. None compare (even remotely) to these. I have to admit that they were set aside until my older pans died. Now that I've used them for a while, I wish I had just given my older pans away. I'm in the process of purchasing more of these pans. To the writer that said the pans stained yellow: did you try Soft Scrub? Soft scrub cleans up my stainless stove beautifully, as well as my sink.

Ok, somewhat of a sceptic after hours of research, I bit the bullet and purchased this set. That was a few weeks ago.Today, I have discarded everything BUT these ScanPans. It cuts down on oil/butter, and is truly the best set (including Calophen) I have ever owned. It heats UP the sides, thus giving you a truer browning, cooking temperature and result.I do hand wash them, and keep them in their velvet pouch they get shipped in.These things are absolutely amazing you will NOT be disappointed at all.I really can't say enough about them, without repeating myself.Read all the reviews you want...watch video's to your hearts content...end of the day, these are helping me cut down on calories, as I just don't need the same amount of oil/butter to cook with. They really are that good.

I have a new kitchen aid induction cooktop and these pans work great. There is no rattling like I've heard about with other pans and the nonstick coating works well. I did notice a very slight discoloration on the bottom as other reviewers noted but it doesn't bother me. I'm sure if I took the initiative to scrub it it would come off but I never look at the bottom of the pan so I don't really mind.

This is a great indoor grill!Bought for my hubby who loves to grill but not in the snow.I decided to get this model with the broiler. We rarely use the broiler, but probably because we haven't researched what all we can do with a broiler. We rarely broil anything anyway. The grill does not smoke at all, and he can get his grill lines he wants too. This does cook fast, sort of like a george foreman fast.I thought he may use this occassionally, but we use it all the time for everything during the winter.Burgers, Steak, Chicken, shrimp, veggies, and fish, etc.We always mist with Pam before to avoid sticking, as we do with our outdoor grill. As the wife, I worried it would be a pain to clean. Not at all.The grill lifts off easily and a quick rinse, suds under running water and voila clean! We store in the pantry and it is lighter than it looks. We can easily grab it and put onto our countertop for cooking.

Simply replacing the control unit would have solved the problem, a simple matter, but their only approach was for me to shoulder the expense of shipping the unit to them. The cost easily exceeding the value of the unit when added on top of the initial cost.

Looking closely at the unit, the cheapness of construction was evident.I would recommend finding another brand.

Lodge Cast Iron 7-Stick Cornstick Pan

Lodge Cast Iron 7-Stick Cornstick PanFrankly, when I am lazy, I whip up a batch of cornbread (yeah, yellow cornmeal, so sue me you Southerners, and I even use those cheap mixes when really pressed for time.) And I pour it into any handy square or round cake pan and cut it up for meals.

But...let's say you are serving guests and want some cornsticks to go with that chili. If you season this pan according to directions, and even throw out the first batch of sticks, (give them to the dog, he won't mind)you will eventually get a pan that lets you make lovely, brown, tasty cornsticks that look very nice served with a simple meal. Don't skimp on the oil or melted butter in the batter, and watch the sugar--it causes them to brown too fast if you overdo it.

Set these out in a nice basket and you won't feel so bad about serving chili from a can or the soup you threw together in a panic to get that hot meal on the table. Whew!

I have always liked Lodge cast iron pans and this one is no exeption. This is a heavy well made pan that with proper care will last for generations.

The key to using a cast iron pan is to properly season it and keep it seasoned. For this pan, I rubbed it with melted Crisco and baked it for an hour at 400, then let it cool slowly in the oven. This should create a beautiful glossy black finish; if not, do it a second time and again whenever the seasoning has worn off. Always hand dry a pan like this, never let it air dry or it will rust.

I have never had a problem with cornbread sticking. I preheat the pan and then pour the batter into it. I use a small ladle for this and leave the pan right on the oven rack. When the cornbread is done you just flip it right out onto a plate. The only drawback I have had is that I usually have to make a few pansful of cornbreads sticks for them to last through dinner.

I come from a long line of Texas cast-iron users. Both my grandmother and my mother had these little cornbread cookers. Both my grandmother and mother could get their cornbread sticks out (with the exception of one stuck stick each time, don't ask me why........), but I never could.

Having said that, their PREFERRED mode of cornbread baking was in the small, cast-iron skillet ----and I agree.

The cornbread sticks are cute, though.

Cornbread is a staple where I'm from in Louisiana, so you can imagine how IRKED people get when I say I'm not really that nuts about it.I have to clarify my position, though: I'm not really that nuts about cornbread unless it's baked in a corn stick (or pone, as we call em) pan.

Cornbread cooked in a skillet or baking pan is soft; even cakey if you use enough white cornmeal and sugar. But corn pones are crispy... they fracture in the most wonderful way when you bite into them and have the BEST texture.I make a big batch of them and keep them in a sealed container on the counter for a day or two, and then refrigerate the unlikely few that may survive after that. They're also perfect for throwing into lunch bags, too.

Be sure to season your pan (rub with vegetable or corn oil, bake for an hour, then let cool overnight) or you WILL have problems with sticking. Also be sure to oil your pan before each use, especially at first. The more you use cast iron, the more non-stick it becomes, but proper oiling is critical at first. My current pan is decades old, but I still brush the wells with a little bacon grease before each use and preheat it along with the oven while I make my batter. (We rarely eat bacon but I "bank" the drippings specifically for making cornbread.)The cooked pones practically fall out of the pan, and the hint of bacon in the crust is insanely delicious.

Another user said that she found filling the individual corn-shaped wells tedious; I use a large serving spoon to pinch off just enough batter to fill each well. The bowl of the spoon I use is big and long; its shape matches really well with the width of the pan so the patter pours perfectly into the wells. It's a snap, and it's CERTAINLY worth the flavor and texture of corn pones!

Tools of the Trade Belgique 10" Hard Anodized Fry Pan

Tools of the Trade Belgique 10' Hard Anodized Fry PanPan worked very well (received as wedding present) and performed flawlessly for well over a year.Recently discovered that the handle on this pan started getting hot when in use.As I type with blisters beginning to form on the palm of my left hand, I am planning on taking this pan out to the trash as soon as it cools enough to not melt my trash can.I have cooked eggs, potstickers, sausage, bacon, vegetables, onions, shallots, stir-fry, lamb, and chicken in this pan and the handle stayed comfortably cool each and every time until recently. It has never been abused, always carefully handwashed promptly after each use.You expect a hot handle with, say, a cast-iron skillet. This is a safety hazard.

These frying pans look great but watch out be sure to use a pot holder when using them! The handles become extremely hot and can not be touched when the pan is in use.I would not recommend these pans to even an expert chef.

Breville EW30XL Electric Gourmet Wok

Breville EW30XL Electric Gourmet WokI've done a fair amount of stirfry over the years, and for a long time had a professional level one similar to this Breville.Once it died, I did not get another, and anytime I tried to do stirfry on the oven it was a disaster.Even a new pretty powerful $800 gas oven did NOT get the on-the-stove pan hot enough.I would end up 'stewing' the food, and it bore little resemblance to my stirfry's of the past.

I was VERY impressed with the excellent instructions that are provided in the book this comes with.I studied all their tips for an hour, and was amazed at the things I did NOT know, or had forgotten.Someone who never stirfried before could get first rate results by studying just a few pages.Little things are important I used to just turn it on, and throw in the oil and wait for it to get hot.WRONG!You are supposed to turn it on EMPTY, let it get VERY hot, and only then put in the oil.And I realized I had started to get lazy, and was not doing smaller batches of items at a time, which does end up with better results.

If I need to get things out of the pan, I just hold a big bowl or plastic container next to it, and slide stuff up the side and out or I just tip it up and dump it on a plate.Although it is good to know that once every few months I could actually take it apart for an old-fashioned cleaning, all you really need to do is wipe it out with a sponge. The non-stick surface is fantastic. The temperature dial is excellent, and it comes with the most heavy duty cord you ever saw!

Stir-fry is my teenaged son's favorite meal, and without a good wok, I hardly ever cooked it for him.Now when I tell him we're having stir-fry, he's thrilled.Remember this thing would be good for a lot more than just stirfry too.I was amazed that it could slow cook as well.I can make beef stew a one pot dish. Can't wait to try it out on tempura, which it will also be great for! There are also a lot of great recipes in the book.

I bought this wok based on the reviews posted here.I have to say that I agree that it gets really hot and I am amazed at how well it performs. That being said, I have noticed that the non-stick surface has a lot of surface scratches and I use a plastic spatula.Yesterday, I made Beef Lo Mein and the pan was just as great as beforehand. However, upon washing it up in the sink, I noticed that a piece of the non-stick had peeled off.My experience with that coating suggests that this will continue to occur as I use the appliance more often. This is very disappointing as this is the best performing wok that I have ever used.I'm crossing my fingers hoping that the non-stick won't continue to peel. That would certainly betray the overall performance of an otherwise excellent appliance

Solid, heavy gage construction cooks evenly.See-through lid is equally thick, which is good because it retains heat and doesn't cause steam condensation as as most others do.

It appears non-stick coating will last -again, because heavier construction dissipates heat and won't sear the surface.Time will tell.

Would be great if base could be removed without turning over.Removing contents to a bowl for serving can be a trick.Removal for cleaning is good.

Size is smaller than Maxim? that I had previously. Not that the larger size is needed for large amounts (wok cooking tends to boil or steam large amounts instead of searing the food; rather, a larger size would make stirring easier.

Would have gotten 5 stars if larger and base were removable while cooking.

I bought this wok based on the great reviews, although I still had some trepidation about how well a non-stick, electric wok would perform. After using it for a while, I can say that my worries were baseless; this is a great wok.

The other reviews are spot-on.Some real thought went into this wok's design; it's well made and a pleasure to use.It gets super hot for searing the food, responds quickly to temperature changes, and cleanup is a snap.I've made some excellent Chinese dishese with this wok.

The only negative thing I have to say is that you can't easily lift and pour from this wok while cooking. For example, let's say you are deep frying some meat, and then need to pour off most of the oil and reserve a couple tablespoons for stir-frying.Although the wok detaches from the base, you need to manipulate a dial on the underside of the base in order to do so.Your other option is to lift the entire thing, including the base, but remember that the cord is plugged into the base. This kind of thing can be worked around, though, so I didn't think it was a big enough deal to dock a star.Just something to keep in mind.

This electric wok is fantastic. Just disregard all you've heard about how electric woks don't match up. The Breville EW30XL is different and it rates 5 stars by many people for good reasons. This wok is extremely well made and should last a lifetime. It gets so hot on the highest setting, that it melted the end of a plastic wok turner I purchased to use with it (use good quality hardwood and toss quickly). It's non-stick coating is there to stay and because of it, you use less or even no oil (be sure to use appropriate oils). Peanut oil is a perfect choice. This is a high quality wok that you will enjoy for years to come.

Lodge Logic L8SKG3 Skillet with Glass Lid, 10.25-inch

Lodge Logic L8SKG3 Skillet with Glass Lid, 10.25-inchIndestructible!Oven to stove top and back. There are many special recipes that use iron skillets and now I have them all.I grew up with these as a mainstay and now I can recreate those dishes.

I have had this skillet for over a year now and I love it. My old non stick skillets were starting to chip and warp and I wanted to buy something that would last. Also I wanted something with a lid.I looked through a lot of skillets before settling on this one.The price was right and I knew that cast iron lasts forever as long as you take care of it.It gives a great flavor to food and works well on the stove top or in the oven. This was my first cast-iron pan and today I bought a lodge dutch oven for a deeper capacity.

I think the handle should be insulated so it can be handled more effectively when in use over the fire.

The lid was shattered when I recieved it. Somebody probably dropped the package during delivery. I had to return it. I ordered the skillet again without the lid. I have a lid at home to match it. I can stir fry food (it splatters a bit), but I need to dry and oil it after each use.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Everyday Pan

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Everyday PanMy wife is an excellent chef. We eat high-end restaurant quality dinner virtally every night. We bought a set of non-stick pans quite a number of years ago, and one pan was used so much that she essentially wore it out and the non-stick surface eventually failed. The pan that she liked so much, and used almost every day was a pan that is very similar to this pan. The pan has no long handles, but rather two short handles, one on each side, making it very easy to grip and control. When I started to look for a replacement, I immediately found the Calphalon Everyday Pan. The first one I bought was the hard anodized 12" pan. She loved it but she also wished that it was non-stick. I also bought the 10" non-stick at the same time as this first pan. She loved that one also and used it all the time, but needed the 12". So, we turned around and bought this non-stick 12" Everyday Pan. She literally uses one of these three pans (almost always the 12" Calphalon non-stick) every day. Since I do the dishes, I am aware how much of a daily pattern it is. These pans are fantastic. We both particularly like the two short handles used on these pans. You get tremendous control of the pan with the two small handles compared to the one long handle or even the combinations of one long and one short handle. if you have never used one of these pans, you owe it to yourself to buy one and give it a try. My guess is that would will find it one of the most useful and versatile pans in the kitchen. Wonderful product by a wonderful manufacturer!!

This pan is the pefect pan for so much of my cooking.

It is for that reason that I am so frustrated with the amount of heat the side handles and the top handle retain.

I have never burnt my fingers as much as I have with these pans.

The non stick surface is amazing, and the pans clean up in a second.

They would get a five star if they threw in a set of insulated handle covers.

Great pan and great size.Rarely does a day go by when I don't use this pan, if not at breakfast then surely by dinner.One-pot meals, frittatas, braised chicken... you name it.

The non-stick works well, the glass top is nice and heavy, and the pan is durable and cleans up like a dream. Oh, and I simply love that I can put it in the oven!

I had originally been looking for a pan that would replace an old deep skillet. This pan isn't quite as deep as my previous skillet, but it still works well in our house. One thing that drew me to this pan was the idea of the two handles one on either side.I've found them to be very practical and it works great on a busy, crowded stovetop.Just keep in mind that if you are trying the two-handled pan for the first time, pouring off liquids is a little more difficult; the long-handle on other skillets give you leverage as you tip the pan and it keeps your hand away from the heat. With this pan (and others like it), you have to hold on with a potholder as you pour or strain. The handle on the lid also gets quite hot, but just remember to lift it off with a potholder and you're fine.

I'm quite pleased with Calphalon and after this purchase, I bought a grill pan and an omelet pan as well I love them all so much I rarely use anything else!

I have had this pan for several years (in fact, I own three, in different sizes). It cooks very uniformly, and it has proven to be very long-lasting (I wash it always by hand). It is also very easy to wash and maintain. It works very well over glass cooktops. It is very much better than the common cheap aluminum pans: the non-stick material is much better applied, and has no tendency to peel, and the heat distribution is much more uniform.

I recommend it highly.
