Cuisinart GG30-20 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square Grill Pan

Cuisinart GG30-20 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square Grill PanSince my old outdoor grill was recently retired, & this is not the time of the year to purchase a new one, I decided to buy this pan instead. I have to say that it does as good a job at grilling meat as my gas barbeque did. It grills vegetables & fish perfectly. Overall, I am very pleased with this item & would highly recommend it.

The pan is really non stick and is easy to clean. The way the handle is constructed it does not get as hot as other handles. Delighted to have it since we got rid of our outdoor grill! May try the other pans in the same series.

Cuisinart GreenGourmet Eco-Friendly 11-Inch Square Grill Pan

I've had this grill pan for about one month. It is light weight making it easy to handle and absolutely nothing sticks. I used it for steak, porkchops, grilled cheese sandwich, and even eggs. I have other types of non-stick pans but none hold a candle to this non-stick. If it will wear well, you have a real winner. I do wish you offered a smaller version such as 8" or 9" square grill pan. I would definately

buy a pan of that size for cooking for one or two people.

Absolutely 5 STARS.

I read all the reviews on this eco friendly Cuisinart 11" grill pan and decided to purchase it. First I will say, it is a very good looking pan.I have only used it three times so far so maybe in 6 months I will have a different opinion but it is everything the manufacture claims.I have an electric smooth top stove so I was worried that it might not work for me as it isn't entirely flat on the bottom. It has grooves.Much to my surprise this pan fits perfectly on my cooktop. The handle stays cool and it grills very nicely leaving nice grill marks.Clean up is probably the best part as it cleans up beautifully without any effort. After reading other reviews, I decided not to grill on high and only have put it up to medium and medium high at the maximum. I also let it completely cool down before washing it by hand in warm soapy water with a sponge or paper towel. This pan looksbrand new like it has never been used. I also took care in having the pan in drawer where it does not touch other pans as it could chip the ceramic material if other pans are stacked on top of it.I am hoping this pan continues to hold up after months of use.If it does, I will say this material that the pan is made of is the BEST INVENTION EVER.The pan is also relatively inexpensive. At less than $50, you can't go wrong.

After 4 months of use, this pan is holding up very well.Grills nicely, easy clean up, and nothing sticks. Eco friendly too. Go for it.You won't regret it.

After 7 months of use, I see that the cleanup of this pan is taking a lot more effort. It is still the best grill pan I have used on my smooth top range but you can see where the finsh is wearing off some as the middle of the pan is becoming lighter in color than the rest of the pan.I have never overheated the pan nor have I used anything abrasive on it.

Yes. It's a grill pan as advertised, and a pretty good one at that. My wife and I have a set of the GreenGormet EcoFriendly cookware, and purchased the grill pan to match. The grill pan uses the same ceramic non-stick surface and is actually fairly non-stick compared to some of the competitors aluminum cookware (Calphalon). My only gripe is that when I grill something to burn those nice parallel marks on the food, the burnt food matter is really tough to remove from the surface of the pan. Don't get me wrong, with some other pans that job would be nearly impossible. Of course, nothing compares to Teflon but who wants cancer?

I would recommend to a friend or buy another.

Lodge Logic LGSK3 Guitar Mini Skillet, Black, 10.75-inch

Lodge Logic LGSK3 Guitar Mini Skillet, Black, 10.75-inchUpdate! It appears Amazon or the vendor has updated the product listing to demonstrate that this is a spoon rest rather than a full sized skillet.

The description of this product is misleading...it is NOT a skillet but instead, might be useful as a spoon rest...assuming your are not using a very large cooking spoon. It's small...very small. It would make a cute wall decoration but forget using it as a skillet of any type. Frankly, given the size, it's not even that appropriate as a spoon rest since the shape omits use of larger spoons due to the upper curvature. Cute idea...if it were MUCH MUCH larger. Don't be mislead by the description. I've contacted Amazon Customer Service to see if it can be updated as this makes a fairly expensive and somewhat inadequate spoon rest and a completely dismal "skillet".

I bought this as a gift knowing it would be the size of a spoon rest.If you understand that up front, you'll be happy.Same Lodge quality you expect, just not a particularly functional size.Judging from the large number of reviewers who were disappointed with the size, maybe Lodge should start manufacturing a pan for all of us who'd love guitar shaped cornbread.

I bought two just for decoration in kitchen . I might use them for cooking but I have a lot of Lodge cast iron so I probably won't . It is heavy duty cast iron at a reasonable price. I recommend this and any Lodge cast iron product. Quicker to order through Amazon than throughthe Lodge website. Prices about the same. Amazon shipping is cheaper!

No-one seems to have read the product details section, that clearly states the dimensions of the item...Yes it's way to small to cook in, and the other description stating "SPOON REST" you all seem to just focus on skillet and "ready to use" which is a little misleading, but come-on take some responsibility here. i found out by reading NOT ordering first.

Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel 8 Quart Multi Roaster

Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel 8 Quart Multi RoasterI received this roaster as a housewarming gift by our realtor several years ago.Although I knew it was a very nice gift, I'd never priced it until a friend asked for a recommendation on a roaster for a Thanksgiving turkey.I was really not terribly surprised at the price since I've used the roaster over and over and it still looks brand new, but I did have a renewed gratefulness for the gift! This roaster is very heavy, and with the deep lid, is also extremely versatile.I was a little concerned about food sticking, since I'd been raised using non-stick cookware, however, I was so pleased with the results that I no longer own non-stick cookware at all.Every roast, bird, or casserole I've made in this roaster has turned out beautifully. This is one item in my kitchen that I am certain will be passed down to my grandchildren some day.

I bought this in 2009 and used only during holidays and large gatherings, less than a dozen times in the last 3 years. This last month I noticed a chip through the interior stainless steel at the inside base of the roaster. Very disappointing particularly for the price purchased. It is a nice looking roaster, but it appears, not sturdy enough for the work. I no longer want to use it.

Emeril by All-Clad E871SC64 Hard Anodized Nonstick Scratch Resistant 12-Piece Cookware Set, Black

Emeril by All-Clad E871SC64 Hard Anodized Nonstick Scratch Resistant 12-Piece Cookware Set, BlackEmeril by All-Clad E871SC64 Hard Anodized Nonstick Scratch Resistant 12-Piece Cookware Set, Black This is an affordable general purpose cookware set. It is durable (like cast iron but not heavy) and should last you a lifetime. Easy clean and maintenance with great heat retention (energy savings). It will provide the optimum surface regardless of what you are cooking, steaks, eggs or cheese souffle.Oven safe up to 450 degrees, the nonstick qualities are not only on the cooking surface but on the exterior to prevent spills and overruns from making the exterior look terrible or impossible to clean over the years. They are dishwasher safe and that is hard to find in a nonstick coating. The cookware could be used without hesitation in a commercial enviroment like a restaurant. This is professional grade but made for use in a home enviroment.

It is my habit to read reviews submitted by amazon customers because I have found them to be so informative. The current set of cookware we were using we received as a wedding gift 20 years ago. So it had more than served our family well. I was so tempted to purchase the nonstick sets I saw in every store I visited until I read the amazon customer reviews of the products. Those same reviews pointed me in the direction of the Emeril All-Clad set. What beautiful cookware. The price was only $50 more dollars than the other sets with fewer peices. The glass tops keep my husband from openning every pot on the stove to see what is cooking. Cooking and clean up are a breeze. Twenty years from now we will probably still be enjoying this wonderful cookware.

Kinetic Classicor Series Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with Lid

Kinetic Classicor Series Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with LidI bought this item and used it for only one month before it broke. The problem is that the basin holds more weight than the handle can manage. So with a pound and half of cooked stuff in the fryer, if you lift from the handle, it will break at the joint.Even though All-Clad is much more expensive, you're better off going with their chicken fryer because they bolt the handle to the basin (whereas Innova just staples the handle on).In fact, most other brands bolt the handle on to their chicken fryers.I don't know why Innova hasn't caught on.

I still gave 2 stars because the company accepted the return, although I did have to pay shipping.

I have this particular pan for the last 10 years and love, love it!! very easy to clean. just a light steel wool pad is for great clean up

DUXTOP 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner

DUXTOP 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner 8100MCI swear by gas stoves. Wouldn't buy a house that didn't have gas. It was my ONLY show-stopper condition when we were house shopping. I was flexible on everything but that.

I cooked A LOT. The only reason I bought an induction cooktop was because I wore out both sides of the inserts on my [brand name] gas cooktop (they rusted to bits from constant use) and since I wanted time before I decided what my replacement would be, I ordered one of these to tide us over. We had the grill insert, so with one "burner" and a double grill, I'd have time to think.

I was shocked at how great the Duxtop induction cooktop was. I was a tough sell, but they won me over.

Water (for pasta) came to boil faster than my gas stove ever did. Peanut oil, for frying chicken, was also ready faster than anything I'd ever experienced with gas, and it stayed hot (I burned the first batch!). It has also been marvelous for wok cooking, and that's what made me a total convert. I've had to learn how to cook with it, but that hasn't been too difficult, since the results have been worth it.

The heat is so hot that I ruined a wok with a non-stick coating and had to go for the old-fashioned, steel kind instead. I like that! You'd think that would have turned me off of induction cooking, but just the reverse. Stir fry is SUPPOSED to be hot and quick (that's how you get cooked through veggies that maintain their color). I spent $25 on an all steel Wok at the cooking store with the initials W&S, and I've been making the best stir fry to ever come out of my kitchen. If for no other reason, getting one of these cooktops is worth it just for that (just don't use your non-stick coated wok with it--it WILL get too hot). Be sure to buy a wok with a flat bottom, and it has to be steel, of course, or the induction won't recognize it, and it won't turn on.

I was enjoying all of this so much, I ordered a second Duxtop cooktop, exactly like the first one.

The other thing that's been fun is cooking wherever I want in the kitchen (or where there is an outlet). There's a nice spot, right next to the sink, where there's great light in the kitchen. This is where it has been best to stir fry, near the sink (as I don't have a pot filler tap next to my stove), and having water close to a steel wok for quick rinsing between dishes is a good idea.No problem if I spill a bit, and it is close to where I've cut all the veggies. No walking back and forth to the stove.(Made me realize even more how badly laid out my kitchen is--as if my husband needed me to have more of a reminder of that!)

All of this has made me rethink my stove replacement. Maybe I don't need to do anything other than buy a replacement drop-in for the exact same cooktop I already have, and continue using the Duxtop Cooktops, as I'm using them now. Maybe we should all rethink how we cook in our kitchens, eh? Some of us have multiple sinks and dishwashers now.Why not multiple cooktops, in different cooking zones?

And no, I'm not a shill for Duxtop. It just makes sense to think about cooking zones in the same way we're thinking about other zones in our kitchens.

This is not to say I'm a total convert to electric cooking. It still has its downsides, as always. I can't scramble eggs with it without burning them or overcooking (or anything that requires medium or subtle heat, or with copper bottom pans--which is unfortunate), but induction cooking does bring something to the party that ordinary electric cooking never had: Higher, quicker heat. Did I say quick? I mean IMMEDIATE! Electric cooking is always going to have the same problem of hot zones that it always had, and these are not going to solve that problem. With gas heat (especially with copper bottom pans) the heat spread is even, and spreads evenly up the sides of the pan, covering the bottom. With electric, the heat is going to be hotter where there is a coil. Induction improves on that a bit, because there are no coils, but there is still a cooking center. (I found that if I move the pan so that it doesn't have a chance to get too hot in any one place, I burn the food less.) All of this takes practice and experience. I'm sure that people who have more experience with electric cooking burn food on gas stoves, so it is what you are used to--so this isn't a magic bullet, but it is certainly better than the old-fashioned coils. But, as I said, the speed at which you can boil, or bring heat to other dishes is well worth the learning curve, where it wasn't worth it before.

These cooktops have two methods of setting the temp: either a numeric setting of 1 to 10 or a kind of high/medium/low, but in a setting of 1 to 4 (I think, I never use that setting). I prefer the 1 to 10 setting (giving the greatest control). I set to 10 when I want to bring water to boil, but then quickly change the setting to about 3 to keep things boiling, and 2 to maintain a simmer (for things like sauces), or 1 to keep things warm.

It's my belief that every house needs at least one of these. They're handy for parties (when you need an extra burner), for emergengies (if the gas stove breaks), they'll be great for the summer for boiling corn (take it outside and put near the grill), and there is no way to get this kind of high heat for stir fry or quick boiling without upgrading your gas pipe to 3/4".

You don't have to be as crazy as me and buy two, but at these prices, it isn't as crazy as it sounds.Party, table cooking (for shish kabap or steak on "stone") will be great this summer too.

I'd recommend these to anyone... and I'd recommend two. Just avoid buying the interface disks (the products sold so you can use pans other than steel). Those ARE a waste of time. They don't work (they get too hot, causing the cooktops to shut off).Spend your money on a few extra steel pans instead... because you can't have too many pans EVER.

UPDATE 2/2012: I've had these a year now. I continue to use them, meaning they haven't ended up in the dead/bored appliance part of the pantry. Most of the time I keep one by the stove (that I still haven't fixed) and one by the sink. I'll move them around, as needed. I'm still not a very good electric-stove chef, but they continue to work, as advertised. If the food doesn't turn out properly, the fault is definitely with me. They were a saving grace during the Holidays: 3 burners were enough to get us through Thanksgiving and Christmas. The advice above, to allow the pan to warm up a bit (to setting 5) before blasting it (at setting 10) has prevented other non-stick pans from losing their non-stick coating, and having it flake off on the food. Not a good thing at all.

This Duxtop is my 2nd induction cooktop. The 1st one is working fine, but has only 1300W. I did enjoy the no flame heating of induction cooking, but the other big advantage of induction cooking device is the fast heating, which is missing with my 1300W cooktop. Now I have this more powerful duxtop cooker, I can tell you the cooking speed is really amazing. How fast is it? I did a test heating up the same amount of water using 1300w induction cooktop and my 1800w duxtop. It took the 1300w 6mins to boil the water, but it took duxtop only 2mins and 40secs to boil the same amount of water. That is over 100% percent saving of your precious time. If you are looking for a powerful and reliable induction cooktop or just want to see if induction cooking technology is something you may interested in, I will recommend this duxtop.

Buy DUXTOP 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner Now

We bought this to see how we would like Induction cooking since we will be replacing our stove soon.I had read about induction on some other web pages and thought this would be a good way to try it out.

So it's been a month and let me put it this way this is our "go to" burner when we need to cook something on the stove. We set it up on our countertop (old laminate not granite) next to our also old cooktop. All we can say is WOW!! It is fast and leaves no heat in the kitchen like our old electric burner.(Important when you live in the South and it's in the 90's everyday.)There doesn't seem to be much or any heat coming off the bottom our countertop is still cool when we're done using the Duxtop.

There is a fan that turns on when you start it.That is to keep the magnets cool and when you turn the burner off, the fan runs for a short time just a few min afterward and then shuts off. My husband couldn't believe how fast it boiled water and cooked some of his favorite items.Suffice it to say, we're sold and yes, we're keeping this baby. Next purchase will be a set of induction-ready cookware. Like some others have done, it would be a snap to put it outside to boil corn in the summer when you don't want all that steamy heat in the kitchen.

This is easy to use.Take a magnet with you when you are shopping for pots/pans.If a magnet will stick to the bottom, you can use it on the induction hob.And also check the pans for a flat bottom. Some pans are slightly rounded on the bottom and I don't think they would work as well on the induction cooktop.

Enjoy! Bon Appetit!

The upper 6 cooking power levels are advertised as 1200W, 1300W, 1400W, 1500W, 1600W and 1800W. Using a kill-a-watt, these all measure correctly. However, levels 3 and 4 are supposed to be 800W and 1000W, but draw 1000W and 1100W respectively. I've tried various steel and iron vessels of various sizes and have gotten similar readings. It makes it hard to fry things like eggs without burning them. Levels 1 and 2 are advertised as 200W and 500W--they achieve the lower levels by cycling the power to the coil on and off at 1000W, which makes it impossible to maintain a slow boil/simmer when cooking things like rice and pasta.

I contacted Secura and asked if this was "normal", and they responded with an indirect answer about grid voltages being different that could cause power variations of +/-5%. They didn't address whether cycling power on the lowest 2 settings was normal, so I assume it is. I emailed them back pointing out that the upper 6 levels were all within 1% tolerance, but the lower 4 were high by well over 5% and they never responded.

To amazon's credit, they offered to allow me to return it on their dime. But since all I do with it is boil water, stir fry, and cook eggs for breakfast, I'll just learn to like my eggs scrambled. However, if you really need the finer power control, I would recommend against buying this item.

I have enjoyed the Duxtop Induction Cooktop. It has taken some getting used to, as I have been cooking on gas for quite a few years.I am amazed how fast it heats. It works great for boiling water and eggs, making hot tea, etc.It is easy to burn some foods until you know how fast it does heat. The issues I have with it can mostly be addressed with repeated use of it and gaining more experience.I can cook most anything that I cook with gas if I cut it down to a low setting but then I haven't gained the benefit of its fast cooking time.It tends to have about an eight inch area in the very center of the cooktop that is where the induction concentrates its energy.I quite often cook with a ten inch cast iron fry pan and the two inch area nearest the side of the pan does not heat up like the center does. I bought this to see if I would consider someday replacing my gas range with an induction cooktop.I probably would not because I live in a remote area and quite often loose power in the winter.I can cook with gas without having electric power but I will keep the portable cooktop. It complements the gas range well for certain tasks but does not replace it.I've noticed that it operates on the same principle as the microwave oven.It cycles between full power and off for all cooking temperatures. When you select a low temperature, the heating cycle is real short followed by a long off cycle. This is evident when you are boiling water on power setting two or three. The water boils during the heating cycle and then immediately stops until the next heating cycle.Possibly the full size induction ranges have better control over the cooking temperature. If that is the case, maybe I need to talk to someone who has one as I may not be giving a fair appraisal to induction cooking based on the portable cooktop.

All Clad Electric Griddle

All Clad Electric GriddleWe bought this for Christmas for our daughter and her family. She loves it.The size lets her make enough for the whole family (husband and 3 children).I can attest that pancakes came out perfectly. She has since made several things like french toast and grilled cheese sandwiches. The griddle works great. We are now ordering one for ourselves. She does not like the scraper that comes with it; it seemed to make "marks" on the surface. She uses a plastic spatula instead to scrape stuff off.

I love to cook pancakes and eggs at the same time. This one allows you to do that and add more if you want, because it has separate settings for the left and right sides. You can cook something on one side at one temperature and something else on the other side at a higher or lower temperature, which saves time and effort. This griddle is handy to cook on and easy to clean. I've had it for more than a year and if it ever breaks, I'll get another one just like it. I'm not the best cook in the world, but this grill makes it a lot harder to make mistakes.

There is a compartment at the bottom with a little pull handle. You just use their tool, so you don't ruin the surface, and move any left over food, grease, etc., toward the front, where it drops into a little trough, which you then pull out and empty and/or throw in the dishwasher. The splash-guards that surround the grill are also detachable and can be thrown in the dishwasher. They are easy to take off and put back on.

The griddle helps me to be a better cook and it's easy to clean. The what I would call 'spatter guard' just comes right off and goes in the dish washer or you can just wash it off with a cloth. This thing is so easy to clean!

It makes great hamburgers, even though it isn't a grill!

EDITED later to say that I still use it every day and still love it!

I thought this time it would be different.I was wrong. What was I thinking, to spend such a fortune on an electric griddle?Well, I was thinking I'd get a top of the line product, that's what.Unfortunately, what I got was a griddle that looked great and worked perfectly...for about six weeks. Then the knob to turn on the burner simply broke one day and I no longer had a griddle that functioned.Imagine my dismay when I called Amazon and they said the 30-day return policy had expired a mere two weeks earlier. When I was able to chat online with someone and explain my situation they were kind enough to allow me to return it for a refund. However, what that really meant was:1. I no longer had a griddle, 2.because it was so large and I'd thrown out the box it came in I had to pay $22 for shipping materials(!), and 3.when I recieved confirmation on the refund I'd been charged $48 for a "restocking" fee.So I spent $70 to find out the All Clad griddles are certainly not worth the enormous price tag.Ouch!

I enjoy All-Clad's quality cookware and I have their handsome slow-cooker but I have a passion for griddles and this one doesn't cut it.Non-stick is a non-durable finish.I have All-Clad non-stick and it's worthless after the first year.Non-stick Aluminum is a flimsy deal for $300.I can get a Presto grill like that for $30 which I won't mind tossing in a year or two.For $300, I would expect a griddle to be durable for many years. This one indicates it has "thermostats" but it's not clear whether it has thermostatic control. Most likely it cycles the heat on and off based on a timing switch just like the cheap ones -but if it doesn't, All-Clad isn't saying because they don't document this griddle on their website at all as of December 2009.Their electrics don't impress me as my slow-cooker boils everything on the low setting (We're at 5000 feet where water boils at about 200F).I have a feeling All-Clad's headed the way of Kitchen-Aide -once renowned for their mixers and now known for every piece of imported junk you can think of.

A quick look atshows that real thermostatic electric griddles with polished steel plates are a little pricier than All-Clad's mini griddle here. Why would they make world-class pans that nobody in the world would be ashamed to use but down-class their electrics to fit among the junk at the all-import stores?

Wilton Round Cookie Treat Pan, 3 1/2 in. Diameter x 1/4 Inch Deep

Wilton Round Cookie Treat Pan, 3 1/2 in. Diameter x 1/4 Inch DeepI LOVE this pan.It makes the most adorable cookies. The decorating possibilities are endless, and the pan is easy to use.I especially loved making "bouquets" of cookies as gifts for a club party we attended.

Two things: 1. After inserting the stick into the cookie, I topped each with an extra marble sized dollop of cookie dough for added strength; and 2. You will want to be sure and allow the cookies to cool completely in the pan so that they have time to firm-up before removing....for this reason, you may choose to buy more than one pan to speed up baking as it does take time to wait for these to cool first (I placed mine in the fridge quicken the process).

I have a great chocolate chip cookie recipe but was not please with the shape of my cookies. They tasted great but the presentation left a lot to be desired.I went online to checked out a few sites, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Chef's Catalog, William Sonoma and then Amazon.com came up in the search for the Wilton Round Cookie Pan.I love the way the pan looked so I ordered two of them.I am EXTREMELY pleased with the results. My cookies now not only taste great but look just as good.I had to adjust the oven temp by decreasing the baking time by 2 minutes because prior to the Wilton Round Cookie pan purchase I was using a Calphalon coated pan.So I must say I am very pleased with my purchase!!!

These pans are a great way to dress up cookies, brownies or cereal bars.I definitely recommend spraying the pan with a non-stick cooking spray to help with the release.Depending on the medium that you are working with, it's sometimes difficult to insert a stick.Don't bake with the sticks inserted for too long or you will burn the stick. You will need to insert during the last 1/3 of cooking time or right when the treats come out of the oven.Candy melts are a good way to secure the stick if it needs reinforcing.I have these in an assortment of sizes and they work wonderfully. No complaints here!

WearEver Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating PTFE-PFOA-Cadmium Free Dishwasher Safe Saute Pan/Fry

WearEver C9440774 Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating PTFE-PFOA-Cadmium Free Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Saute Pan / Fry Pan Cookware, Champagne Gold5 Star Rating because:

It actually is non-stick

Not outrageously priced like other leading non-stick pans

Ease of cleaning

************************************************

I was told about ceramic frying pans by my friend, and was skeptical at first."How can a ceramic pan be non-stick?"Did some research on the net and came across this pan, and decided to give it a try after reading some reviews.

My 10 year-old son loves making eggs in the morning, and he swears by this pan. It's also reasurring to know that this product is PTFE PFOA cadomium free, especially when you're feeding the food to your children.

This product does what it's supposed to do cook food without sticking to it, takes very little effort to clean and it actually looks nice.It is a LOT MORE AFFORDABLE than other leading non-stick pans like Scanpans, which often receive 'less than ideal' reviews over the company's customer service quality.

I'll be buying other products from WearEver to see whether they're as good as this one.

I have delayed review to see how these would last and so far I believe it is about 6 months they are terrific. They are really easy to clean and as of yet I have not found anything that has ruined the cooking surface. With regular non stick there are many foods (honey or maple) ham, turkey etc that will RUIN there surfaces. To date this has not been the case. No sticky parts.

I prefer cast iron but if you want a good non stick that doesn't require weight lifting these rock!

Most of my cookware is either Calphalon (non-stick) or Cuisinart (stainless). A 10" skillet is my daily "go to" pan. I have larger and smaller but I really needed another 10" one for omelettes and the like. I was about to buy another Calphalon when I read a very positive review of the Pure Living pan on Tasting Table, saw that the price was right on Amazon, and ordered one. I absolutely love it! It is used at least once a day for sauteing fish, chicken or vegetables and is a dream for eggs. Classic French omelettes are easily folded and slide right out onto the plate.

In addition, cleanup couldn't be easier. Once it has cooled, I simply wipe it out with a paper towel, finish with a soapy sponge, and towel dry. It looks just as good as it did on day one.

I should point out that the Amazon description is misleading in two respects. It states: "Soft touch and ergonomic silicone riveted handle, sear and deglaze with ease, cook at high temperature (up to 750-degree f)." That 750 ºF rating is for the ceramic coating only, not the entire pan. WearEver's site explains that the product is "Oven safe to 350 ºF if handles have any silicone or phenolic parts." Amazon's description further states, "...safe for all cooking methods except induction." What WearEver says is "...safe for all cooking SURFACES(except induction)." The emphasis on "surfaces" is mine. All cooking "methods" would include broiler use for which it is not suitable because of the silicone handle.

Do those differences detract from the product in my view? No, not at all. For range top use it is the best non-stick pan I have ever used. The fact that it is a bargain, makes it even better.

I'd been looking for a new frying pan, which I use 95% of the time to make eggs in the morning.I've had previous T-Fal pans and they generally do well for some period of time until they get gunked up and the coating seems to wear off.I'd never had a ceramic pan and the reviews of this one were good so I decided to give it a try.

Its a beautiful pan when it comes. When cooking with it it gives off an odd smell for the first week or 2 of use.Not a big deal.It was initially nice and easy to clean as all new pans are.I followed the directions I seasoned it as the packaging says.I always let it cool before cleaning it, etc. However, after just 1 week of use there is cooking spray residue stuck on the pan that will not come off no matter how hard I scrub. From the beginning, the pan isn't nearly as "slippery" as the normal T-fal's that I've always used. And, for what its worth, with the white finish on the pan it now looks hideous with yellow/brown residue caked up along the sides.

I'd return it if I hadn't thrown the large box out, but I seem to be otherwise stuck with it.

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, OrangeI bought the pan because I was in the market for a griddle type pan, and I was really interested in the new oval shapes in cookware. I enjoy Rachael Ray's show and follow quite a few of her recipes, and that orange trim really caught my eye, so I bought it.

Other than the fact that I wish the handle were on the shorter end rather than centered at the widest point, (because maneuvering can be tricky unless you have a huge rangetop), I'm pleased with the way it cooks. I'm lucky enough with a large enough kitchen that I can leave it out, because it's rather eye-catching, (I bought the saute' pan too, with the lid) and I find myself using it more and more often. It's great for searing. I made wonderful porkchops last night. I recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune, but still want those nice grill marks in a pan.

I actually bought this pan on extreme impulse...to make a flank steak philly cheesesteak something-or-other that I caught on the Rachel Ray show (demonstrated on this very pan,of course). The size is unique and very useful for long cuts of meat or to set things off to the side like a real grill. It is truly non-stick and cleans up very easily. It's heavy gauge, even-cooking, and decently priced.I find Rachel a little annoying to listen to generally...but I'm glad I listened to her this time!

Rachael Ray's recent cookbook has "orange" in the title, because, as she puts it, it's her favorite color. This grill pan, as one might guess, has a characteristic orange handle.

But the key point is simple: this works pretty well.Once the weather gets colder, I begin to use grill pans a lot more. For small jobs, I have a nice 10 inch circular grill pan.But when I have to grill chicken or pork chops or fish for several people, that pan just doesn't do the trick. And there is where Ray's grill pan comes into play.

My recipes for grilled chicken and fish for three (or sometimes four) people calls for a larger grill pan.The oval pan here is just the ticket. I put it over two burners (maybe I'm sinning in doing this) and grill the food. The end result is pretty good. The nonstick surface seldom leads to what's being grilled sticking (some nonstick surfaces aren't nonstick!).

All in all, then, I really appreciate this grill pan. If my experience is typical, then this is something that those wanting a good grill pan might think of acquiring.

Procter-Silex 25218 Compact Grill

Procter-Silex 25218 Compact GrillI bought this cuz it was only $, expecting to use it only occasionally.I ended up using it for dinner 4 times a week!

PROS: With a small cooking surface, it is perfect for single servings (or picky family members with different dinner preferences.)It cooks chicken and fish very quickly. No more than 5 or 6 minutes for a thawed chicken breast; less for fish fillets.I find steak to be juicier and more tender than frying or broiling.

Kinda easy to clean.Just wipe with a couple paper towels. When cool, clean around the rest of the components.

CONS: Small cooking surface. The cord is short. And, except for the plastic handle, it gets VERY HOT so you cannot move it or turn it around when hot. Depending on what you are cooking, the drip cup may need emptying during the cooking process, which can be messy.

Sandwiches do not brown well, due to the height of the internal grids.

I've never owned a George Foreman grill, but if I were to believe the the reviews, then this grill is pretty decent in comparison, and much cheaper.

You can grill slices of meat, sandwiches, burgers, whatever.I used to have to cook things like frozen fishsticks, chicken tenders, and tator tots to feed this kid, and instead of using my oven, I used this.My frozen foods are usually cooked to crispy perfection at the time it takes to preheat my oven. It's kinda small though so you'll have to grill your burgers one at a time and despite the picture at the top, you probably won't be able to do kabobs.I love toasting my sandwiches on this thing and getting stripey grill marks. And I love watching all the fat drip off my meat and into the tray below.

Downsides include cleaning. The grill plates don't detach, and you're not allowed to submerge the thing in water, so that means you have to wipe the grill off carefully with soapy water while it's still warm before the fat coagulates. Then you have to wash the soap off and try not to wet the undetachable wire at the same time.Kinda tricky.

Not a bad little grill if you're just making a snack or a sandwich but it's damned hard to clean since the plates aren't removable. If you're thinking about buying this to make burgers or anything else that requires actual cleaning (as opposed to just wiping the grill plates off) you probably want to keep looking.

I really like this little grill. It's very small, so it doesn't take up much room on the counter. But it cooks very nicely.I've cooked chicken, steak, pork chops and vegetables and it does a good job on everything.

I received this as a gift in 2006 and use it several times a week. It still heats up just as hot as the first day I used it! I'd rather grill Chicken breasts and salmon on this than go to a restaurant and it only takes a few minutes. Grilled vegetables also turn out nicely. I haven't tried making sandwiches on this grill.

PROS: The small cooking surface takes up very little counter space and is perfect for one or two people. It cooks quickly and evenly. I find cleanup to be really easy.

CONS: The unit does not have an on/off switch, so I sometimes get a little spark when I plug it in. It also has a rather short cord. The drip cup is not large enough. I have replaced mine with an empty frozen food tray which fits nicely under the feet catches all the fat and never touches the grill so there is no risk of overheating or melting the tray.

The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is because of no on/off switch, and I can't make pancakes on it.

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware Set, Black ()Previously, I've owned the New T-fal D913SC64 Signature Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set by T-fal, which I loved.I expected to feel the same way about this T-fal set.I was especially excited to try the square grill pan.

I seasoned the pans as directed, then I used the square grill pan for frying up some pork chops (something my other set of T-fal excels at).I couldn't believe how badly those chops stuck to the pan!Even after soaking the pan in hot, soapy water for an hour, I still had to use a lot of elbow grease to get it clean! It wasn't a matter of cooking it wrong either...The first time, I cooked them exactly the same as I do with my other pans. The second time, I used a much lower temperature (thinking that I may have accidentally cooked at too high a temperature the first time).Even using the lowest temperature, the chops still stuck!

After a little research, I think I've figured out why.T-fal has two different manufacturers produce their pans.My previous set (the D913SC64) is made in France. This Jamie Oliver set is made in China, and it shows.T-fal, I'm disappointed.

()The only thing "unique" about this set is the Thermo-Spot heat indicator, which lets you know when your pan is heated up by turning solid red. That's a fine feature, though I don't find it terribly important-how hard is it to just wait a minute? I guess if you're in a rush and need to know right away, it's cool.

But I have several issues with this set:

1. NOT dishwasher safe. The manual says all their other sets are dishwasher safe, EXCEPT the hard anodized exterior sets. This is not made clear on the packaging.

2. Nonstick doesn't work well. Like another reviewer, I first tried cooking eggs in the small pan. They stuck like crazy! It specifically tells you not to use cooking spray or oil because it can mess up the pans, but there's no way I could go without it. I even took a photo because I couldn't believe what a mess it was to get these eggs out of the pan. I've had much better nonstick pans before.

3. Thinner than I'm used to. The pots and pans are weighty-they don't feel cheap-but they must be thinner or more conductive on the bottom than my usual pans because I had major trouble cooking pancakes... I have a gas range, and even on a low setting, the pancakes burned on the outside very fast, yet were liquid on the inside. Even after several rounds, I couldn't get the pancakes to cook right. I'll keep trying with thinner pancakes and an even lower setting.

5. Cannot be used under the broiler because of the rubberized handles.

6. The "large" saute pan is really just medium-sized... that's the one I used for pancakes, and I could really just cook one large pancake at a time. It would not suffice for a real dinner for more than one person. You'd still need to buy a separate large saute pan for everyday use.

It's an attractive set, it feels good in the hand, and it's nice to have three lids with the set, but I can't recommend it in good conscience because of the above issues.

()Some of the reviews so far have not been particularly favorable, and I understand the concerns of those folk.Nonetheless, I've been thoroughly delighted with the set, which is impressive in appearance, has a decent, if not "Calphalonic" weight to each of the pieces, and stack easily in a small space (I have them on the top rack of a smallish baker's rack).

The pans conduct heat nicely and (surprisingly) evenly.I have not had any of the issues others have mentioned with things like releasing an egg from the pan, though I must admit, I use a bit of butter (always) and not cooking sprays (ever) for my eggs (or anything else personal preference).I live alone, but entertain frequently and I've had no issue with the size of the pans, though I tend to make multiple courses of smaller amounts.

The only issue I've had with this set is that I generally make my sauces in a skillet (rather than a saucepan) and the shallowness of the pans makes serving the sauce directly from the pan a bit clumsy and unnecessarily messy and when eating alone, don't feel I should have to pour the sauce from a pan into a serving vessel merely to get it onto my plate.A quick wipe up of the stove and that's remedied, but a bit more depth to the skillets would have been nice.Perhaps in the next incarnation with the next celebrity chef!

()I received far more than I expected and am so delighted about this T-fal Set.At first glance I thought this is just another set of cookware and began reading the instructions.Do this and do that so you can begin using this pot or skillet. No bid deal but a bit more work than most new sets require.I started with a small sauce pan and worked my way up to the big pot along with the skillets and honestly this is one fine set no matter how you might want to classify it.

Put the raw food in, cook for a while and it's over.Clean up is a white tornado of speed. The pots and all are lightweight and tough. The little center Thermo-heat spot is there and it appears to be effective but I am too much of a novice to be an expert. The sauce pans heat quickly but when using they do not scorch nor burn the contents.Being able to see the food cook with the glass tops is another plus and makes the process just that much more enjoyable. After using all pieces I have had zero defects or problems and highly recommend this set for the amateur or the professional.

I was looking for an Anodized set because of what people say about it (twice as strong as stainless steel, professional look, etc) and I went to the stores to find myself one but they were very expensive. I could not believe I found this set on Amazon at this price. I have had T-fal product before and the non-stick is great. And I also love Jamie Oliver and what he stands for so I thought the combination of both T-fal and Jamie would be a winner.

No doubt about it, this set is awesome.

The non-stick inside is second to none and nothing sticks and sooooo easy to clean.

The outside is very pretty and should last me a lifetime.

The handles are made of a soft rubbery material like silicone so they are super comfortable to grip and it also means your pans can go in the oven at a higher temperature than my old pans with plastic handles.

The 2 fry pans and the grill pan have the red dot in the middle which tells you when your pan is at the right temperature to start cooking. I had never really used it on my old T-fal pans but I thought I would give it a shot with these new ones. It actually does make a difference. If you heat your pan (with no oil) until the dot turns solid red and then you pour in a little bit of oil your food will actually take less time to cook and will cook at the right temperature. It's a cool little feature I will be using more often.

Overall.......... a great set of pots and pans and it has all the pieces you really need to do most of your regular everyday cooking at home. The beautiful grill pan is a plus. Such a nice pan.

14" COMMERCIAL ALUMINUM NON-STICK FRY FRYING PAN - NSF

14' COMMERCIAL ALUMINUM NON-STICK FRY FRYING PAN - NSFThis is a very high-quality frying pan; restaurant quality. The only issue I have with it is that it is very heavy. Fortunately for me, my boyfriend does most of the cooking, but I do a fair amount of the cleaning. The pan is too big to fit in our medium-sized dishwasher. It's large size is nice for cooking certain dishes, but also means that I must wash it by hand. It washes nice and easy with a solid non-stick coating. However lifting it up to rinse can be a bit of a strain on my wrists, given its weight.

I bought this pan for home use. We have a family of 5 and typical pans are just too small for many things. Plus I don't like to get out the griddle all the time for fried eggs and the like.

This pan is huge and when you add in the handle length its enormous. The size makes it difficult to store in our smaller kitchen. Its also very deep. Probably 3 inches. That can make working in the pan a challenge.

Surface is nice. I've just started using it but the non stick seems to be tougher than a standard non-stick.

Being aluminum I thought it would heat quickly but it is very so heavy so it takes a long time to get hot but is very even heat once hot. The handle also got very hot.

Lodge Logic LMSRC Rectangular Mini Server, Black, 10-Ounce

Lodge Logic LMSRC Rectangular Mini Server, Black, 10-OunceI wouldn't have known what to do with this a year ago. A small cast iron pan with handles for pot-holders. What's it for?

Then I had what may be the best dinner of my life, at Mario Batali's new Vegas steakhouse, Carnevino. It was early fall; they had an item on the menu, "Market Peppers." Vine-fresh, long skinny red sweet peppers were seeded, cored, brushed lightly with olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt, and oven-roasted and then brought to table in this little pan, or one very much like it. The pan was so hot that it kept sizzling them right at the table; you served yourself and the sweetness, the good roasted flavor where the hot iron had seared the pepper skin, was just unbelievable.

You can make this, and other similar vegetable, potato and mushroom dishes, at home in this wonderful little pre-seasoned pan. Because it's cast iron, which retains and delivers heat wonderfully, you need very little oil; foods sear nicely without scorching, and cook through without needing to sit in a puddle of oil to do it.

I pretty much want this on the table every day, filled with delicious roast things. You can also use it for breakfast scrambles, one-person casseroles or pot pie, or pretty much anything else you like it's cast iron, it's indestructible. Just don't put it in the dishwasher no soap please, just clean by rinsing under hot water with a stiff brush, then coat with oil lightly and put it away.

If your lifestyle is anything like mine you're probably the last one to sit down at the dinner table. Having cooked the dinner and brought it to the table, you sit down and your food is cold. I hate that! I purchased six of these mini servers, and I couldn't be more satisfied with them. Because they are cast iron you can put them in the oven and bring them to the table, (don't forget to use pot holders), and put a pot holder underneath to protect your table. The food stays nice and warm till finished. I make up a casserole recipe and spoon a serving into the mini server, place a little cheese on top, pop it in the oven. The cheese melts down through the food, so yummy, and warm food! Because it's cast iron, you have to care for it. Scrub it out with a nylon brush and hot water, never use soap, dry it immediately, wipe a thin coating of olive oil on it, or any other oil, and you're good to go for next time. I've never had anything stick to the pans. There are probably numerous uses for these, but this is how I use it. I highly recommend this pan.

Stir Crazy As Seen On TV

Stir Crazy As Seen On TVFrom the picture, you might expect something with a motor, but it actually just vibrates and the vibration causes it to rotate. The vibration is enough for it to rotate and stir thin-to-medium liquids. If the liquid gets too thick, it just stops and sits in the pot.It makes a racket doing so, though, and the pot itself can also move as a result.

It's kind of useful to keep soups and some sauces from boiling over, so I think it's OK given the price. Still, the device would be much more useful if it actually used a rotary motor to stir.

Don't waste your money. This product broke the first time I used it, and it can't take heat of over 300 F, which is very low considering this is meant for cooking!!!

We were able to try to use this item the other night while cooking sauteed mushrooms, I expected it would be able to handle it since they were tiny mushrooms and the sauce was still very thin, but the product wouldn't move, hopefully we will still be able to use it with a rue or gravy in the future but I'm definately dissappointmed, I was hoping it'd have a little more muscle.

Read Best Reviews of Stir Crazy As Seen On TV Here

Tried it in a teflon pot with cold water, and it seemed to work: moved around the whole pot, although more slowly than the sales videos show.

Next, tried stirring milk as the milk was being heated.Never knew until now how much thicker milk is than water: had to put the stirer on HIGH to get it to move around the whole pot; on low or medium, it just stayed in one place. But on High, it did work ... for about 5 minutes. Then, it just slowed down and stopped. Not broken, just petered out from all that hard work.

Well, maybe it can't handle the heat; after all, by now the milk's temperature was up to almost 150º F.So, get it out of the kitchen, right?

Let it cool and tried it again in cold water. No joy: it didn't turn on except in High, and then was too weak to move around.

Tested the batteries. After all, they'd been used for a long time (5 minutes) and maybe needed to be replaced.Actually, they were down a bit, so I tried new batteries.Made no difference.

To put it another way, the other reviews were spot on.

PROS:

1. stirs cold water very well, at least when you first get it.

2. very low price, so it's not worth returning.(Why is this a "pro" ?It's a "pro" for the manufacturer: who's gonna bother returning something that costs less than $6?)

3. easy to clean

4. provides almost an hour of entertainment, so on a per-minute basis, costs about the same as a ticket to a 2-hour movie.

CONS:

1. does not work

Want Stir Crazy As Seen On TV Discount?

What a disappointment!!I was so excited to be able to use this for reductions that require constant stirring so I did not have to stand over the pot all the time.Well, the bottom line is it did not work, under any condition I could reasonably create for it. Besides it should serve my environment, is that not what a tool is for?

The way I see it is you need to have a very thin liquid with little to no solids, you must have the pot or pan perfectly level, even boiling it's self hinders this thing.I know it has three vibration speeds(yes, vibration, that is all it does) but under every situation I put it in the slowest one was the only one that even came close to move to more than one spot, but still did not do what anyone would have purchased it for!!

If you choose to go ahead and buy one of these DO NOT toss the packaging like I did, I will bet you will just return itafter the first attempt to use it. Because I am stuck with it this thing I gave it to my wife to see if it has a use for her. :-)
