Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 10" Open Skillet, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 10' Open Skillet, OrangeI bought this pan about 5-6 months ago.I decided to wait and allow myself to use it alot before I reviewed it.I am definately satisfied with it.It truly is a wonderful NONSTICK pan! Its a breeze to clean, no scrubbing! It cooks beautifully too! I love this pan, i only bought one because i didnt want to buy the whole set if I wasnt going to be happy with it, but now im surely going to add to it and make it a collection! The only con i might have about it, is that its a little heavy, but thats what a quality pan would feel like right :)

The Rachael Ray skillet comes with a wrapper that contains way too much information on how to use it.One of the words of wisdom says "do not use oils (except for the one or two they recommend) since their build up will only reduce the skillets performance. So, I did not use my Pam and discovered that my eggs STUCK to the pan regardless of how low or high I had the burner set. Finally I used my Pam and the skillet worked exactly the way I had hoped. So, don't read the jacket with all its instructions and use this pan the way you normally would and it's GREAT.

This pan is a great addition to the cookware set. This pan is all-purpose and I use it every day for so many different dishes. Its not too big, and not too small and clean up is a breeze. Lightweight, sturdy, and a quality product.

Want Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 10" Open Skillet, Orange Discount?

I have had this skillet for 6 months. It is a good skillet for the price. It is light weight not so light that it is flimsly, but not as heavy as a better quality skillet.

I have seen the reviews and advertisements on QVC where it cooks eggs so well, but that is not my experience. On my better quality skillets, I don't have to use butter or spray for the eggs to slide off, but with this skillet I do.It does ok on fried eggs; however, scrambled still sticks, even with costant stirring.Last time I scrambled 8 eggs and at least 1 remained stuck to the skillet.

Also, I cook meatloaf patties and they tend to burn on the bottom even on a low heat.Which, of course, they are left under cooked in the middle. On a heavier, better quality skillet, they don't burn on a higher heat and are evenly cooked throughout.

I definitely have to pick and choose what I cook in it or modify my expectations on how the food will turn out.I would not buy this skillet again.I will save up my money for a better quality one.

Delonghi Model OS-01 Jumbo Fryer, Sauce Pan and Saute Pan

Delonghi Model OS-01 Jumbo Fryer, Sauce Pan and Saute PanTired of the Teflon products, then came the coated that you can't put in a dishwasher, or the ceramic that chips? Me too! So, I've gone to Stainless Steel and needed this exact size. For the money, the quality, the size and the convenience I'm convinced this is the only way to go.

With high sides and stainless cover, this will also allow oven use to 500 degrees F. The small pot-holder handle 180 dsegree from the main handle allows for ease of both stove-top or oven use. A quality all stainless item for a busy kitchen. Tri-ply on bottom but not sides posed no problem for me. I like the high sides better than a traditional skillet shape.

CIA Masters Collection 7-Ply Copper Clad Stainless Steel 10 Inch Non-Stick Saute Pan

CIA Masters Collection 7-Ply Copper Clad Stainless Steel 10 Inch Non-Stick Saute PanI have CIA's 12" and 8" copper core non stick frying pans and they are absolutely the best pans I've owned. However the 8" pan is a little too small for the weight of the handle, so it easily tips over.Just be careful.

These pans are well built, heat up quickly, the non stick coating seems to last, no muss and no fuss with these pans.A real joy to cook with, everything slides off. They are a little pricey but well worth the price.

Once you cook with these babies, you'll never want to use anything else.

I have an Emeril Lagasse 10" non stick and less than a year the coating has already worn off and it takes forever to heat up.Easily the worst pan I've owned.Bam!Da Worst and expensive.

I own a 12" stainless steel multi copper core All Clad, it's pretty and shiney and everything but hate the ritual of having to heat the pan and heavily priming it with oil before cooking. If you don't, everything sticks to it.And the clean up is the worst.

Nordic Ware Texas Skillets

Nordic Ware Professional Weight 10 Inch Texas SkilletHere are my early observations:

(1) Works on both induction and smooth-top ceramic burner

(2) Is properly balanced so stays flat with or without weight of food

(3) Holds 1.5 quarts with room to spare; 1 quart comfortably if stirring

(4) Cooks evenly without hot spots

(5) Pours without dripping

(6) Cooked over-easy eggs nicely with zero grease, not even spray

(7) Made of heavy gauge ferrous metal except handle which stays cool

(8) Non-stick interior, enamel exterior cleans up with ease

It came without a cover but I found a glass one that fits perfectly at Goodwill. The skillet's handle has a hole for hanging, which I like. One reviewer suggests that the quality of these changed somewhere along the line. If that is true, mine, which I bought in June 2011, is the older, better quality. Could be, actually, as it was hanging around in a small rural Kmart with a sale price on it. But more likely the quality never changed and they are just nice, heavyweight cookware. Will update as I gain experience with this skillet.

WHEN THIS PAN IS COLD IT LOOKS FLAT, BUT AS SOON AS IT IS HEATED, THE BOTTOM BECOMES WARPED AND ROUNDED, CAUSING THE PAN TO BECOME UNSTABLE ON THE STOVETOP. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN FRYING WITH HOT OIL. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE PRODUCT.

Buy Nordic Ware Texas Skillets Now

I thought because of this pan's heavy weight & "Tri-ply metal construction" and claim that it "provides even heating and rugged durability," that I would like it. NOT so. It immediately warps over medium heat so that it cooks only in the middle. Plus, it seems to burn things over the same medium heat at which my other skillets cook just fine.

It might have "professional weight" but this semi-professional cook hates it.

Save yourself some grief & buy any other skillet but this (though I would suggest a T-Fal product).

I love this pan. I have had my pan for over 4 years. I have had none of the warping that some reviewers mentioned. Most modern pans use low to moderate heat. I usually go with a moderate heat setting. I love the clean up, since it does not splash grease all over my stove, the pan itself is easy to clean. I have many other pans, many different makes, but this is my favorite. It cost a lot less than my other pans and I have not had any problems with the nonstick coating.Admittedly, I am careful with my nonstick pans, I don't pile them unless I put a dishtowel between them to protect the pan.I wash by hand so I don't know the affects dishwashers have on pans. But for my money this is a great buy, and made in the U.S.A. I can't ask for anything more. I know the picture does not show it, but there is a steel handle opposite the handle.I usually use it to help lift the pan if I have to drain something off. This is a large pan, and if you are cooking a large amount it comes in handy.

I already have one of these and they are great!I purchased this for my sister for a gift. I know she'll love that it has the pour spouts on the side. This makes it a lot easier to drain off the grease.

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 9" & 11.5" Skillet Twin Pack

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 9' & 11.5' Skillet Twin PackAfter 40+ years of marriage we finally tried these nonstick pans. They are the first nonsticks we like, other we simply threw away.

Our long lasting Stainless pans finally gave up (handles broke off), they were used daily for over 40 years and didn't owe us a thing!

Tried these Kitchen Aids and some compatible tools and are very happy with their performance, ease of use, easy cleaning etc. I don't expect the extra long life of our Stainless set but their quality and ease of use make them a pleasure to use.

I really like the 9" pan for I am single and frying is made easier for portion size with a slightly bigger pan than an 8 inch smaller than a 10 inch. And the larger pan 11 1/2 inch is great for bigger portions when company is coming. Easy Clean up.

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 12" Covered Deep Skillet

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 12' Covered Deep SkilletHeavy yes, cooks evenly yes, pricey yes, quality very good, clean up easy, would I purchase again? Absolutely!Amazon has not let me down in over 2 years including a easy return policy.

Short review but honest.

I was looking for months at cookware.Been to many stores (W&S, Sur La Table, etc).I knew I wanted fully clad cookware. My options came down to All Clad, Henkels, and some others. However, what I really needed was just a deep skillet, and I could find only 2, a Caphalon non-stick, and this Anolon.I chose the Anolon because it was clad stainless steel.

One thing I really like about this pan is the handle.Very comfortable curve and silicone grip. The domed top also is convenient.

However, the black ribbon on the outside, while kinda cool looking, I think Anolon just put it there to save money on the stainless steel.

The pan was not as heavy as I thought it would be, at least compared to a similarly sized/spec'd All Clad pan. What this tells me is that the aluminum core is very thin.Which is obvious if you compare it to an actual All Clad pan.The All Clad (I'm talking Stainless or LTD) is much thicker and heftier. Now, all this could be rendered moot if the performance was great.....

The performance is not great. For starters, after the VERY FIRST time I used it, there were burn marks on the bottom.I have one of those glass cook tops and I set it to medium, and when I was cleaning the pan, I noticed several burn marks on the bottom.Continuing, after searing some steaks, and washing the pan, it left an outline of the steaks.I scrubbed as much as I could, but it wouldn't go away. However, since then, and cooking many other things, either the outline went away, or there were so many other outlines that it is just one hazy mess.Lastly, heat retention is not great.Just yesterday, I was searing some small hunks of beef to make a pasta sauce. The hunks were about 1 inch cubes, or so.The first couple sizzled when I put them on, but as I put more on, they stopped sizzling. The meat was room temp.None of the pieces were seared very well. They browned, but I couldn't get that crusty sear I was going for.Plus, when I was making the sauce, the sides didn't seem very hot.I was able to see my sauce bubbling, but only at the center.Maybe my expectations were too high.I was expecting to see the entire pan bubbling because of heat radiating from the sides.

Overall, while the shape is exactly what I am looking for, I would not recommend this pan to anyone. If you want the same shape (a hybrid of a skillet and saute pan) and you want stainless, this is really your only option. However (I've used the word a lot in this review) if you don't need that particular shape, look somewhere else.I bought a small saucepan from Henkels, and that also has a great handle, and is much thicker, clad, stainless, and performs well. For the price (about 80% as much as an All Clad 12" saute, but more expensive than a Henkels 12" saute) you lose performance. However, the All Clads are made in the USA, and the Henkels are made in China. You pay for made in USA, though (and I hate, Hate, HATE the All Clad handles). If you want to really splurge, go for some Vikings or Demeyers.

Out of all the options, I think Henkels gives you the best value for your money, if you are looking for clad, stainless cookware.

Lynns Mercury 12 Inch Open Frypan

Lynns Mercury 12 Inch Open FrypanI was very disappointed with this purchase (I usually love buying from Amazon). I wanted a large stainless steel frypan with lid (which was how this item was advertised). The first pan came without a lid so I returned it asking for the lid to be included. The replacement pan arrived also without a lid, so I assumed that this pan was wrongly advertised. I have purchased other Lynns Mercury pans and have been very pleased with them, but this one is definitely inferior quality stainless steel and I don't think I would buy Lynns Mercury unseen in future.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Round Griddle

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Round GriddleWhen I ordered this, my idea was to replace a Circulon 12 inch hard anodized griddle that lasted for about 2 years under regular use and some misuse. It gave us great Indian dosas with awesome texture, until it started becoming sticky. I wanted to try a non-stick this time and ordered this. The Anolon is lighter and easier to handle compared to my Circulon. Also, the non-stick coating is fine but just not suitable for your thin and crispy dosas. Just a heads up for those contemplating to purchase this pan for dosas. I wish I had been informed by someone before I made the purchase.

I love this pan, it comes in so handy for a bunch of different uses. The even heating from center to edge is amazingly consistent...browning everything the same no matter where it's placed. Also a great "one pan" breakfast pan...eggs, sausage, hash browns...all in same pan...You have to get this beauty, it will serve you well.

The one star review is correct. The picture is wrong for this item.Check Anolon's site for the correct picture of this item, link below. The items pictured for this product is actually the "12 Inch/ 5 Quart Covered Sauté"

As for the Anolon Advanced line as a whole they are great pieces of cookware.I have a large assortment of these pans and have used them for over 5 years. They are extremely durable and when properly used and taken care of they will last a very long time.I use them daily and would recommend them to anyone looking for great cookware.

The Teflon lasts and none of my pieces have ever lost any of its coating. That being said do not use metal utensils or put them in the dishwasher.I only use bamboo or plastic utensils and hand wash the pans.Hand washing is extremely easy because the Teflon is so good.Simply wipe them clean with a soapy sponge and then dry.The silicon handles are rated up to 450 degrees so they can be used on the stove top or in the oven.

Norpro Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round

Norpro 994C Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round, BlueWell made and quite substantial.Fits flatly on the surface of the pan.The outside diameter is 4 inches and the inside is 3 3/4 inches, and is 3/4 of an inch deep. The metal handle folds down flat for storage, and has a silicone insert so your fingers wont touch hot metal. This is the perfect size for a single egg, pancake, or omelet type recipe. I purchased two sets of 2 rings, for a total of 4.This is exactly what I have been searching for. They are high heat resistant to 500ºF/260ºC, and are FDA approved. There are a couple of recipes, and use instructions on the back of the bubble pack's card.Instructions: "Place on seasoned hot griddle or fry pan, lip side down. Pour 1/4 cup pancake batter or 1 raw egg into ring. Cook until egg or pancake sets.Gently pull ring away from sides, remove and flip to set." One recipe is for "Cheesy Egg Delight", and the other for "Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes".

These egg rings work exactly how they are supposed to.Cooks perfectly round eggs for making homemade egg sandwiches.I haven't tried them with pancakes so I am not sure how they would work for that. Nice weight to them so the egg doesn't leak out underneath. Also, they are a good size.

Buy Norpro Silicone Egg Pancake Ring Round Now

Alright so here are the pros:

Non-stick! It was very easy to lift the ring right off my food and keep cooking.

The size is nice and large. It's probably a quarter inch too big EXACTLY to fit perfectly on a typical english muffin you would buy at the store. I'm okay with this because I hate biting into a breakfast sandwich and only get a mouthful of bread. The larger size also seems to accommodate their idea of using it for pancakes.

And now the cons:

Most people gave it such a happy review that I thought the negatives just didn't like it for whatever reason. But it does turn out that, consistently, the egg leaks out of the bottom EVERY time. I've used different pans to make sure it wasn't just an uneven pan. I've tried different methods (pouring just a little bit at the bottom to set and seal the cracks up that are leaking so I can pour more on top, etc) but it seems that no matter what I do, it's going to leak to some degree. Which brings me to my next point:

Because they are rubbery, they don't seem to cook the sides of the egg enough so that I can pull the ring off and flip. Just like other reviewers said, this thing could comfortably use 2-3 eggs to actually fill it, so that's what I did. The egg seems to be up so high that either I burn the bottom so the top cooks, or I pull the ring off too early and have the top of the contents spill all over the pan because they never set. So, really, the only solution seems to be using just 1 egg. But it's so incredibly thin when it's done that it doesn't seem appetizing at all.

So really, great for pancakes, not so great for making an egg patty for sandwiches. If I was going to choose one to buy all over again, it wouldn't have been this one. It would have been a smaller, metal one.

I use this to make egg sandwiches every morning. It works very well. Easy to clean. I recommend spraying the pan AND the ring with some cooking spray (Pam or otherwise.) Also, when using egg white egg beaters: pour the first bit in slowly, because it is so runny, it can escape under the ring. If you pour it slower, it allows the egg to cook a little before it can escape. =)

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, Round

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, RoundA great cooking tool!

I bought the Charcoal Companion to use as a press to make paninis in my 7-inch cast iron, ridged, grill pan. Theridged, heavy-weight size, press had been dificult to find to fit my small skillet, so Iwas excited to try it when it arrived!I decided to make a paninii of left over chicken that day.Much to my surprise, it would not make the brownedridges I desired but only squashed the panini.I thought about it and realized the grill press was not hot when it contacted the bread.I have an induction cooktop so decided to see if it would heat the ridged press. It did!I put the grill press on one burner, heated my ridged cast iron pan on another burner. When I decided the temperature was right(I heated on No. 7 on my cooktop) I placed the panini in my skillet, then placed the grill on top.Viola! It produced a perfect ridged panini.

I did brush the grill press with oilive oil before placing on my burner, the same as I did my cast iron skillet.I lightly buttered both outsides of my sandwich. This gave a me an authentic panini.

I do not use regular white or wheat bread.I use french, baguette or aritisan bread from my supermarke I slice myself.I don' think regular sliced bread would hold up to this procedure.

this is a good product. I use it 2 3 time a week. I would buy a larger one from the same company

Have used it consistently with my cast iron pan and my induction cookware (which I also bought from Amazon).Needs to be heated separately, though meaning if you have induction cookware, be prepared to heat the grill press on its own first.Once heated, it can be applied to the meat and it will sear it nicely.Recommend it, but with a caveat:Needs to be heated on its own first.

I purchased this along with a different press to use making bacon on an oblong antique cast iron griddle. My family initially thought this was kind of a goofy, frivolous purchase but they have been amazed at how much better the bacon is using this.It makes it nice and flat and more uniformly cooks it without as many "rare" fat spots. If you prefer the rare spots you simply would cook the bacon for a shorter time.I think it shortens cooking time somewhat by holding heat on the top of the meat. The bottom of this is cast with ridges about 3/16" tall, spaced about 5/8" apart.I've discovered that this makes it great for doing tube meat like hot dogs and sausages. You can use the press to cook along the whole length all the way around by placing the meat parallel to and between the ridges.I've also used it for frying cornbread and get a much more uniform cooking of it than I used to.I've only had it now for a few weeks but I'm sure I'll think of many more uses for it.There are other presses that weigh more but the weight of this has proven sufficient for any use to which I have put it.The seasoning appears to be good as so far I've had no issues with it sticking. The casting is of good quality with a pretty smooth surface and no flaws.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is that you have to be careful with the ends of the handle. The wood handle is long enough to easily handle the hot press, safely avoiding the posts to which it is mounted. However a few times while holding the press to adjust my meat my hand has come in contact with the top of the posts (the handle is mounted between them). The press hasn't been hot enough to create a burn on my hand but it's an uncomfortable moment nonetheless.I usually just wipe my cast iron cooking tools with a paper towel between uses so haven't tried washing this. The ridges might create a bit of a challenge but I can't think of why you might get food stuck to the bottom to necessitate this.Regardless I think this slight risk is worth the extra utility of having the ridges.I looked at a number of these but was restricted in size by the flat area of the griddle.I was concerned that this wouldn't cover all my bacon but before my other press arrived I used only this one switching it from end to end. With bacon this worked about as well as having 2 presses.

Continental Electric 1100-Watt Singler BurnerI've owned two of these that were sold under the Walmart house brand. They don't last long (between 1-2 years) but they were cheap when Walmart sold them (less than $10).After a year's use they look like crap (you can't remove the burner to clean the top.All brands seem to be that way) so I didn't feel too badly about them dying and having to throw them away. Now that Walmart doesn't sell them the price seems to have creeped up to about 2 times as much.I just ordered another and I'm not going to be as OK to have it die in a year, since now it's about twice as much $! Nevertheless, while they work, they work good.I liked the way it heats up very quickly and cools down pretty quickly, too.It gets red hot and will stay hot.It is also able to be set on a very low warming temp. One odd thing I noticed, but I'll bet it's true of all brands of hotplates...if it's in a very cold room (winter in Florida...45*)...even if the hot plate is set to "Off," it will come on!I discovered this when some plastic plates I left sitting on top of it were melted. One morning very early, I saw it turn on, too.So watch out for that little issue with any hot plate.

I just bought a Sylvania 1,000 watt hot plate, but I don't like it.It's too slow.It cycles off too much and it's white so it'll get nasty looking quickly.I decided to get another Continental and relegate the Sylvania to an outdoor kitchen area that's less used.I also have an Aroma hot plate that's 800 watts.I don't care for it at all.It takes way too long to get hot and then way to long to get cool.It has the solid steel burner instead of the coil type....too much mass. It's ok for something that you want to cook for 25 minutes or more as it will maintain a pretty even heat. But it's too time consuming for quick cooking--stir-fry and the like, which is mostly what I do.

One more note about the Continental... This time when it died I took it apart (easy) to find out why it broke.Where the elec. wire attaches to the burner it's just a cheap little quick connect. It seems to have gradually sizzled itself into oblivion.I think it could be fixed by soldering the wire directly to the burner, but I haven't tried it yet.If that works, I'll keep it as a back-up.

Oct. 1, 2011: I've been using the new hotplate for four months and don't like it as well as the one that died. When turned on high, the new one cycles off too much, so it takes a lot longer to boil water. I guess it's "hit or miss" getting one that always cooks good and fast.

This is a good burner.I use it for my flower pot smoker (thanks Alton Brown).Other burners didn't have enough wattage to heat up to 225+F.This one fits the bill perfectly!

I purchased this burner for my kithenette thinking that the high wattage would mean that is would heat up quicker and make cooking faster than other burners. Unfortunately the burner keeps turning on and off and takes about 10 minutes to boil a small pot of water and won't allow for continuous boiling. I think I have to return it but I may try one more to see if the product is just faulty.

It automatically turns off after 11 minutes when cooking at high temp, so you will not able to boil a good amount of water or cook with cookers.

The auto protection system is really anoying. It's difficult to make a hotpot dinner with this burner! Is there anyway to change the protection system?

The burner will stop heating within 2 minutes, and will start again after about 1 minute. weir

Presto 06857 16-inch Electric Foldaway Skillet

Presto 06857 16-inch Electric Foldaway SkilletI purchased this skillet to replace one from another manufacturer with a removable base (it had distinct heating zones and was not even at all!).

This skillet has nearly straight sides, of nice depth. As stated, the foldaway base and temperature control fit nicely inside the skillet itself, making a very compact unit for storage. I made fried chicken in it as a test case (something my old skillet failed miserably at!). To my delight, each piece was cooked evenly. This skillet seems to have no 'cold spots' or overly hot spots. The spoon rest cutaway in the corner makes a nice vent for the pan when cooking, and easy pouring for liquids in the skillet.Cleanup was a fast and easy. If you are looking for a skillet that has fast, even heating, easy cleanup and a compact footprint in a cupboard, this is definitely one to consider!

After making the mistake of equating quality with a high-end and high-cost name brand (begins with "C", think food processors) I listened to recommendations from friends and reviews on Amazon, and bought the Presto.I was very pleasantly surprised that this unit does everything well that I found deficient in the Cuisinart skillet.First and foremost, it heats evenly over the entire cooking surface which is a must when making crepes or pancakes.Second, it maintains an even and constant cooking temperature without shutting off and on the cooking elements as the desired temperature is reached. And third, it remains entirely level on a level surface which eliminates the pooling of pancake batter or cooking oil which occurred with the Cuisinart. The design and engineering of the Presto are top notched, and for the money it represents an excellent value. The foldaway design is rather nice as well.I cannot attest to the longevity of the non-stick cooking surface as I've onlyused the unit about 5 times so far.If it lasts for years as it should then this is truly a 5-star product.

I gave this to my wife for Christmas so we have only used it for a few times, It works very well and folds compact for storage, and that was the reason for it's purchase as we intend to put it in the travel trailer, I'm sure it will fill our needs perfectly.

The skillet arrived in perfect condition. Cooking time appears to be quicker then using the burner on my smooth top electric range. The PRESTO heating element is sealed at the bottom of the skillet for more efficient heating of the pan. There is no wasted energy.

Cooking chicken breast with barbacue sauce provided excellent results. Cleanup was easy and the chicken cooked perfectly. The next item to be tested were homefries. The skillet did a perfect job, the homefries cooked perfectly, well browned without burning, the pan's non-stick surface is perfect for cooking starchy food like fries. French toast cooked perfectly with easy cleanup. The 16 inch surface gives plenty of space for pancakes or other items. During power outages and when the generator kicks in, the skillet is the perfect solution to minimize power usage. The glass cover allows for viewing during cooking. The side vent allows moisture to escape. Allowing the pan to cool before immersing in water will give the non-stick surface a long life. The foldaway stand and reversing the cover gives the appliance a low profile perfect for storage. This is a great product, it saves cooking time and energy.
