Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Saute Pan with Detachable Handle and Lid

Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Saute Pan with Detachable Handle and LidWell, I don't cook myself, but my wife, who does, can't stop singing praises to this pan, and considers it to be one of the best purchases she ever made. I know this is not much of a review, but I just found it wrong that there isn't a single one yet, and the product is clearly very good =)

This pan is just amazing. Definitely none-stick, easy to clean, and the most important of all, it helps to make perfect, professional-look pan fried dishes.

The detachable handle also make it easy to be stored and to be used in the oven. (For example, I sear the steak and then put it in the oven. I don't need to move the steak to another pan at all.)

The only shortcoming is the weight. Except that I would say it's a perfect pan that every home cooker should have.

I don't know how long this pan will continue to perform like it has so far, but right now it is amazing.I have had trouble getting my eggs to turn out right with other pans, but with this they were perfect, making me feel like I actually know what I'm doing in the kitchen.I have tried out a lot of things over the several weeks I have been using this pan and it's almost like I can't do anything wrong.I've even cooked whole meals in the one pan with meat to one side, potatoes on another and the rest in the remaining space. The lid really helps complete the cooking process.Cleanup is a snap.Although I usually wash it out with a little soap and water, I have tried just wiping it clean with a paper towel after cooking, and it wiped clean, at least to the eye.

I ordered the pan mainly so I could fry my sardines without any oil, and it worked like a charm. The thin skin got stuck to the pan, but the pan washed extremely easy with the sponge and soap. Good quality. Highly recommended.

Revere Polished Aluminum 10-Inch Nonstick Skillet

Revere Polished Aluminum 10-Inch Nonstick SkilletI have owned this pan for 3-4 years.I plan on replacing my 10 inch about that often as they begin to show some wear -that isn't bad for $20 or so.I have not found a nonstick surface that holds up to metal utensils or high heat.If you are careful about these things, this pan can last several years.I use mine almost every day.

This item has good depth (holds lots of food, and I can stir contents without dribbling over the edge) best skillet I ever had my old one of the same type lasted years.

I needed a new 10" non stick fry pan and purchased this thinking it would be heavier than it really was.I was worried when I first used it thinking my food would burn easily etc.Well, it is a great pan!It browns chops and chicken well, the heat distributes evenly. It cleans up really well.I really like it.

Update March 2013. This pan is still going strong. I use it for everything and the finish is still as good as it was when I first got it.

My mom bought me the 12 inch version of this skillet about 8 years ago, and it's been in daily use for at least the last 5.I can't believe how well it's held up!The non-stick finish is still intact, with only the most superficial of surface scratches, and still works great. So when I couldn't stand my 10 inch "Simply Calphalon" much-more-expensive-piece-of-garbage skillet another minute, due to terrible flaking and peeling of its coating, I looked high and low for a 10 inch Revereware.Nowhere to be found, until I came to Amazon.Thank goodness they still sell these here!I'm going to buy another 12 inch and store it away, just in case of the terrible event that Revere would stop making them all together; that's how much I love them.

I was afraid this new one might be different since it was several years since my old one was purchased, but it looks and feels just the same.I cook everything from eggs to chili in these skillets; their deep sides allow browning of meats followed by adding substantial amounts of liquid, all in one pan.If you treat them nicely, following the manufacturer's instructions, they'll last for many years.Only use plastic or wooden utensils, avoid super-high heat or drastic rapid temperature changes. It's not necessary to wash them after every use; they're so non-stick that you can usually just wipe them out with a paper towel -this helps preserve the coating. When they do get dirty, hand wash only; dishwashers are harsh on non-stick coatings.I've done all of this with many other brands of skillets and still they wore out after only a year or two; Reveres are the only ones I've found that last.

I was looking for "old school" skillets that weren't so heavy like the anodized ones they are making now. I had TFal for years, but it finally shot craps. The TFal being sold on Amazon had reviews stating they were shallow skillets. That wasn't what I wanted, so I took a chance on these. I am very pleased! They are great...lightweight, non-stick, and the perfect depth. They do discolor on the outside as another user mentioned, but that doesn't bother me. My skillets are kept in a cabinet and not on display. The only thing I warn against is using metal utensils! I was kind of mashing some hamburger and stirring it with a regular stainless skill serving spoon, and it did knick it up a little. My TFal wasn't that sensitive, so I didn't know. Ooops!

Calphalon Simply Cast Enamel 10" Fry Pan - Blue

Calphalon Simply Cast Enamel 10' Fry Pan - BlueI'm happy with this pan. We bought a new glass top stove, and our old cast iron skillet was too rough on the bottom. We needed something smooth so we wouldn't scratch the stove top. The enamel coating on the bottom is very smooth. This measures about 9 1/4 inches wide on the inside at the bottom. Not huge, but plenty big for our needs. And this thing is heavy. Heavier than our old, and bigger cast iron skillet. I guess that enamel coating is what adds the extra weight. But the handle is substantial enough to keep a good grip on it.

Fundix by Castey Nonstick Cast Aluminium Induction Paella /Everything Pan, 9-1/2-Inch/1-1/4-Quart,

Fundix by Castey Nonstick Cast Aluminium Induction Paella /Everything Pan, 9-1/2-Inch/1-1/4-Quart, BlackThis "Paella Pan" is not big enough to even cook a paella for one, it is more like a serving dish for serving one. I can se myself co0king eggs in it, maybe even a chicken breast, but not a paella, not any rice dish since here in not enough space for it and the liquids. The meassurements are from the top edge not the bottom flat surface which is around 7 maybe even 6 inches.

Update 4/25/13, Ikeep it on top of the stove and been using it to make Spanish Omellets, it does works good for that, got to be very careful when flipping since the handles get very hot.

Other than that it really does great with the non-sticking.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Covered Deep Round Grill Pan

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Covered Deep Round Grill PanI don't usually cook with non-stick cookware, except for making omelets.

Non-stick does not usually make a nice crust on meats or reduce sauces properly.I will stick with my All Clad stainless and Le Creuset for everyday cooking, thank you.

HOWEVER, in the winter months when it is too cold to go outside and grill, this pan is the BEST commercial grade non-stick pan out there.

Fish and steaks cook up beautifully, searing the meats, leaving nice grill marks every time.It cooks up chicken breasts better than my Weber grill.

Easy cleanup and nice rubber ergonomic handle.

I have yet to use the heavy glass lid, but it's nice to know it's there!

Fabulous addition to my cookware...heats quickly and evenly, good size, easy to clean and I like that it comes with a lid.

Nothing technical here, but this is the best grill pan I've ever used. I am an active home cook and have used several different grill pans. Hands down, this one is the best. Great grill marks, good heat distribution and amazingly lightweight. Clean-up is a breeze. The lid is a bonus, since most grill pans don't come with lids!

I would surely buy another analon advanced pan in the future should the need exist!

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware SetThe absolute best set of pots and pans.I have no regrets or buyer's remorse whatsoever about this phenomenal set.Completely non-stick, easy to handle, perfect pour spouts and wonderfully fitted lids.If Kitchenaid were to ask me for a critique I would only say that I wish the sauce pans and stock pots were more wide rather than tall.Other than that the pieces store easily, clean well and are my go-to for everything.I highly recommend.Quite frankly, I doubt even higher end sets could compare to the functionality, look and usability of this one.

I bought these lovelies right before Christmas and given Kitchen-Aids high reputation thought these would be excellent...false.The skillets are tiny, the pots are tall and narrow and despite never washing them in the dishwasher they are still very discolored.Save your money and invest in something a bit more high-end.Just my 2 cents.

I bought this set of cookware in late spring, and I just love it. I cook with gas, and I can turn down the flame to almost nothing and still maintain a nice simmer. It cleans beautifully, though it can't go into the dishwasher (which isn't a big deal). My only complaint, if it actually is one, is that it needed a 12-inch skillet, but I ordered that today. I will use these pots and pans for years to come.

The first time I used the large covered sautee pan I was shocked to find a number of scratches on my cooktop

My husband and I could not imagine how the scratches came to be there as we have always taken care of the ceramic top. this is not a new cooktop and had never been scratched before

Upon turning the sauce pan over we found a sharply etched logo on the bottom of the pan.We have used several of the other saucepans and one of the frying pans without incident, but there is no doubt that the 3 qt sautee pan did leave a deep scratch on our ceramic stovetop.

I now hesitate to use any of the larger pots from this set.

Kitchen Classics 188-549LIB 12-Inch Heavy Gauge Aluminum Non-Stick Saute Pan

Kitchen Classics 188-549LIB 12-Inch Heavy Gauge Aluminum Non-Stick Saute PanI purchased this 12-inch Saute, the 8-inch Saute and the 3 Qt Saucepan from the Kitchen Classics cookware line. After doing extensive research online and in-stores, I decided to try my luck with these pans.I am amazed with the look, feel and performance of these products and at these prices!

The saute pans feel "heavy" for their size, but not in a bad way at all. They are very thick-walled aluminum and stainless steel construction, which helps evenly distribute and control the heat so my food doesn't burn.

I can tell that the Teflon nonstick coating is very durable and has been extremely effective every time I've used it.No need for any spray at all, so my cooking is healthier too.

I love the feel of the handles they have a bit of a rubberized grip, but with a soft touch. The rivets are very strong and high-quality, one of the features I really wanted in my new cookware.

What sets this cookware apart from competitors of similar quality is the PRICE.There is no way I could buy a national brand piece like this 12-inch saute pan at this price, AND get all the features and quality that are important to me.I plan to purchase the rest of the items in this line to complete my new cookware set!

Le Creuset Silicone Handle Sleeve

Le Creuset Silicone Cool Tool Handle Sleeve, Black OnyxIf this review helps you please vote.

Pros

Rarely need oven mitts

Easy to clean (dishwasher etc)

Cons

Still melts a little (please see note below)

Still gets a little hot when using very high temps (searing steaks etc)

Please Note:

I use this on a Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 8-Inch Skillet and a Lodge Logic 10-1/4-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet

Handle sleeves this silicone LC one are a must if you ever use cast iron skillets. I use this silicone sleeve on my Lodge pans most often. It's pretty tight on the handles, which can make slipping it on a hot pan a bit of a chore. However, I typically remember to put it on before cooking.

This one has a distinct advantage over my cloth Lodge sleeve, as another reviewer noted. I can rinse the skillet without removing the sleeve in fear if getting it wet and burning my hand. The water instantly removed the cloth's insulating abilities.

The silicone can get quite hot, but if you use your skillets on a properly-sized burner, this shouldn't be an issue.

My favorite part about this sleeve is washing it. Rinse with soapy water and air dry; requires 20 seconds of hands-on work max. I'd recommend this sleeve to any fan of cast iron cooking.

Buy Le Creuset Silicone Handle Sleeve Now

I thought I could keep this sleeve on a pan handle to avoid burning. WRONG. If you keep it on while cooking, it gets as hot as the actual handle. So not to burn yourself, you must use it only when you need to grab the pan. But then it's a bit loose so you have to be careful not to drop the pan. I am not sure if there is a sleeve out there that does not get hot, but will keep looking.

I purchased these to use with my Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. They fit over the handle easy. Not an overly tight fit, they slide on and off easily. You can still feel the heat through the silicone, but it is not over whelming and you can still pick up the skillet.Much better than accidently touching a cast iron pan with nothing covering the handle.Good product, I am not aware ofbetter products out there, I would recommend this to someone using cast iron, as it helps you from accidently burning yourself and makes the pans more manageable.

The color is nice, the design is cute. You still will need to wrap the handle because it will conduct heat. The intended purpose will not be served with this sleeve alone.

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel 12" Covered Skillet

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel 12' Covered SkilletThis pan looks great but should not claim to be an "Omelet" pan. Tried numerous times to make Omelets but they all stuck to the pan right in the center. Yes, I used low heat & Butter, Pam, etc...but everyone stuck.

I was looking for a large oven-safe stainless steel skillet and ended up choosing this pan. Functionally the encapsulated aluminum-disk base seems to give good even heating. The polished finish on the pan is very good. I was surprised by the poor quality on the cast stainless steel handle. The polishing job done on the handle is very poor, which because of its shape has to be done by hand. The hang hole in the handle is uneven/jagged and looks cut by hand. Inside of the hole it's unpolished w/ black marks (which are from the casting) and there are other dings and blemishes in the handle.

The poor quality of the handle makes me question the quality of the skillet as a whole and I'm concerned about how long this skillet will last me. That being said the actual pan portion of the skillet seems to be well made and hopefully will hold up.

This is an excellent pan that would rate 5 stars except for the sharp edges around the handle of the glass top.

A hazard to tender fingers and knuckles.I have made a jury rig solution by taping these sharp edges it remains to be seen if this is a permanent solution.

Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetI don't know if you are at the same stage I was: I wanted to avoid the potential perils of non-stick coatings and yet felt a little apprehensive about using Stainless Steel. There are some very negative reviews for similar products, along the lines that they don't cook anything "right" and a jackhammer is required as standard cleaning equipment. You'll be pleased to know that neither could be further from the truth in my experience using this set (the Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set). While I don't deny that a select few may have had a negative experience, I hope this review will put your concerns to rest.

I am a first-time Stainless Steel user.I am not a prize-winning chef.I have recently switched to cooking whole-foods from scratch; and I mean recently. So I am not only behind on my cooking skills, but I've never used such high-quality equipment before (dollar-store plastic utensils, anyone?).The turning point came when I found little black bits of non-stick coating in my fresh batch of home-made refried beans.Very frustrating.I can't fault the coating because it was over seven years old.At the first sign of a scratch, non-stick cookware is supposed to be replaced. That's one reason why I was looking for a long-life, heavy duty cookware set with NO COATINGS TO SCRATCH.I read one study that said the fumes from non-stick coatings at high temperatures have killed birds in a lab.Nice.So I threw my "toxic" refried beans in the trash and let my hubby know I couldn't cook with the pot anymore.A week later he bought this set for me (at my recommendation)!I guess he likes my refried beans!

If you want to use this set proficiently and aren't used to stainless steel, you'll have to adjust--not lower--your expectations. It stands to reason that if this cookware is designed differently and made of different materials than the set you are used to, it is going to behave differently. If you want to produce the same results that you're used to, you'll have to adjust your cooking methods. It's actually not hard to do at all.Read the manufacturer's instructions for cooking and cleaning.Watch a couple videos on the web about how to preheat a pan and how to determine it is at the right temperature for pan-frying, etc.It will only take you ten minutes of watching/reading but it will save you from potential disappointment. If others use these sets with no problems, you can too; you'll have to be willing to learn and do what they did.It is exciting to learn a new skill! This is the perfect set for that; because the inner core extends all the way to the top of each pan, they heat up evenly, making it difficult to burn food; a good thing for a novice to know!

These pans look beautiful. The glass lids from my old set fit the pans perfectly, so now I have two sets of lids; I can use glass lids (from my old set) when I want to keep an eye on things, and stainless steel lids for oven cooking. I smile every time I pull these pans out of the drawer; they gleam at me every day!Who said diamonds are a girls' best friend?He/she obviously didn't cook!

I've used all the pans in the two weeks I've had them.I've pan-fried battered fish, salmon, scrambled eggs, taco meat, burgers, home-made Italian sausage, hard-boiled eggs, home-made spaghetti sauce, and dosas with no issues.I've made cream-of-garlic soup, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, and chicken noodle soup in the stock pot.I've used the little pot with the steamer insert for broccoli, green beans, and baby carrots (it's so nice to have brightly colored vegetables that are hot and still a little crisp). They all work brilliantly!

The pans have acquired some mild discoloration on the bottom (caused by use); I have a gas range so they are over an open flame.Bar Keeper's Friend is supposed to get that off so I'm not worried about it.I try to avoid commercial cleaners as much as I can: I have kept these pans otherwise spotless using a mild castile soap, baking soda for a mild discoloration caused by taco meat, and vinegar for a slight starch residue left by some rice.I haven't had any cleaning issues: I rinse the pans out with very hot water from the faucet as soon as I am finished with each and hand-wash them later with a dishrag and soap (the only thing I've had to scrub was a little residue from scrambled eggs: it came off with little effort).

As for sticking: no problems! I make sure to preheat the pan using medium-low heat.I use the preheating time to chop my veggies and prepare side-dishes, so these pans have actually "trained" me to be a better-organized cook.Once the pan is very warm on the edge, I typically reduce the heat to low. That's the great thing about these pans: I used to cook meals on a 6/7 on my gas range with the cheap non-stick pans: now I cook them on a 2/3!Talk about energy savings! The food is fully cooked but more MOIST!Everything tastes better.I told my stepdaughter not to tell my husband that: he'll just have to think I am improving dramatically!

The handles stay cool: the pans are weighty but not too heavy and are well-balanced.I love using them.I don't usually post reviews but I was looking forward to reviewing this product.I've recommended it to my family and friends. While there are higher-end stainless steel sets out there by other brands, they come with a $500-$1000 price tag. This set really is the best deal (at $163) out there with a much better quality than most cookware sets.I highly recommend this set: I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's a challenge to learn something new, but it has been a very rewarding experience.

Not sure about other people, but dropping 150+ on a set of cookware isn't something I do often and I want to keep it that way.So, with much research, I chose this Cooks Standard set over AllClad, Cuisinart, and Kitchenaid...with no regrets.

First, these pots and pans (and lids) look amazing out of the box, and even after a few weeks after using them.No blemishes, no weird stains or anything. We have some Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish, but have yet to use it on these. They look so good, in fact, I feel a little bad when I stash them in a shelf beneath our counter-top stove.

They also cook quite well...no staining, no major sticking, great heat distribution, and, as the advertising says, the handle do NOT heat up, which is great. And, as opposed to my last set, the handles are very firmly attached, so they shouldn't be falling off anytime soon.(My last set some a cheap set, not stainless.)

The biggest drawback to this set, fortunately, is the box and associated papers/instructions that come with it.The entire set was made in China (stamped on the bottom of the pots and pans, along with "18/10 STAINLESS"), but all the writing (which reads like a sales brochure, which is awkward) read just like the same China factory worker that helped made the pan also had his hand in helping writing."Engrish" at its best. It's not terrible, and none of the writing is terribly important just seems like a company would proofread stuff a couple times before shipping it.

As I mentioned, I chose these over other brands.Over AllClad because I wanted a great set of pots and pans (which both provide), but I wasn't up for paying for "heirloom" quality that I my great-grandchild could pass down to his great-grandchild.Maybe I'm selfish like that, but if these are taken care of, they could at least last a generation or two.Selected these over KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set and Cuisinart 77-17 Chef's Classic Stainless 17-Piece Cookware Set for a couple reasons:(1)They're all made in China, even spending more money wouldn't have done much for the ol' USA.(2)They're all the rough equivalents of each other, but Cooks Standard had better pricing when I purchased.(3)Reviews and further research indicate that the other brands may have lessened the quality, and have had various quality control issues.Granted, it may be user error in the latter cases, but I'm not loyal to any brand more than the brand is loyal to me.My kitchen is perfectly happy with my Cuisinart Food Processor, Kitchenaid Mixer, and Cooks Standard Cookware set.

Would highly recommend these...haven't had a single problem with them.

I have searched and researched pots and pans forever.I knew what I wanted but could not afford the high price. This was the only set I found that was multi ply under 400.The core goes up the sides, which is usually only found in very expensive cookware. The weight is also nice.Although I did find the smaller frying pan to be a bit too heavy on the handle side. This ment putting the handle a bit over the burner to even out the weight. This cookware does live up to its claim of no hot handles.Even when I had to put it nearer to the burner for the small pan, the handle stayed pretty cool.

My first test for any cookware...an egg.It cooked wonderfully! If you are not used to stainless it does take time to get used to.Medium heat! The outside does have a mirror finish, so be aware if.. you are tough on your cookware most likely it will scratch.Cleaned up great and dried to its new self.

I inspected each piece very carefully and found not one scratch anywhere. It came very well packaged and very fast.I'm a very pleased cook.

UPDATE:

It's now been a year and I was so impressed that I came back to edit my review. After all the abuse my family has put this set through, they still look brand new!I have put them in the dishwasher, scrubbed them ect.The mirror finish still looks great.

Nice set of Stainless steel cookware. Nice finish, good heavy solid feel. Purchased to use on a GE profile induction cook top/ range. Cast Iron has no buzz at fullpower. El chepo steel pots have a slight buzz at full power but are quiet at other cooking/ simmering levels. Cooks Standard multi-ply has a soft buzz that begins at medium power and is too loud at full power. My wife said, "yea, I can hear it in the dinning room." We choose to return these. They may be induction capable, however they don't actually perform correctly with induction fields. Perhaps the layers of metal are not well enough bonded and having internal vibration? Seems like it would be a great set with regular electric or gas range.
