Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan, OrangeI couldn't be more pleased with this piece of cookware. As with the other Rachael Ray products I have purchased for my kitchen, it is highly useful and cleanup is easy. It's deeper than my other pans that are similar which works out great for any meal.I would highly recommend this for any kitchen!!

This is my second piece of Rachael Ray cookware and it won't be my last! The first piece I got was a smaller 3 qt saute' pan which I love for scrambled eggs, grilled cheese, etc.I don't always like to cook with a tall 8qt or even 10qt stockpot and this 6qt Chef Pan was exactly what I have been looking for. It is a weighty piece and the shape is perfect for making chili, stews, etc.I even steamed some asparagus in it tonight.I LOVE the lid!It fits the pan perfectly no 'play' once it is on. I cooked a dish with pasta in it tonight and it cooked quicker than usual and I'll bet it was the tight fitting lid.

This is an easy pan to lift because of the extra handle and the silicone handles do not get hot. And, it's on the lid, too!!!! No more picking up a hot lid!No more grabbing a too-large kitchen towel to try and take off a steaming hot lid.

Oven safe up to 400 degrees.

Clean up?There isn't any!!!! :) I took paper towels to clean it out and several hours later washed it in dish detergent....I would never put this in the dishwasher...it would take up too much room for one thing this is a LARGE pan, and there is no need!Put a tad of Dawn in it, run some hot water grab a paper towel and the pan is clean.

I have been using hard anodized cookware from an online shopping channel and stainless steel cookware from another online shopping channel. My new favorite is Rachael Ray cookware. I'm serious this is REALLY good stuff! :)

We love this pan for its size and how easy it is to clean. We've only had it a few weeks but it's proven to be a worthy investment.Only thing is it's really really big.So it takes up a lot of the stove.Kind of difficult if you want to use other eyes on your stove-and ours is not a "small" range at all.Not a big deal but just a little FYI.We can use 2 out of 4 eyes using this pan, but since it can be used for everything it's not an issue.

Lodge HHMT Max Temp Handle Mitt, Black

Lodge HHMT Max Temp Handle Mitt, BlackThis mitt is good at insulating handles from heat... one can hold the skillet comfortably without feeling the heat. I don't think this thing can resist as high temperatures as stated on the product description because mine has already scorched at the edge where it comes in contact with the pan and as a result the fabric is fraying badly. I have never left the mitt in place while cooking, I have only used it to move the pan from the stove to the sink or to lift the pan to serve meals from it so I guess that the black fabric covering the outside of the mitt is not very heat-resistant.

I got this and the Lodge 2 Piece Hot Handle Holder Set at the same time, and this product is a lot better. It's more substantial, thicker, and because it's thicker (although the same size) it fits the handle more snugly, therefore less slipping around.

It does tend to get warm if you leave the holder on the handle while cooking.I don't think that it will ever get hot enough to burn you, though. You should, at worst, feel a little discomfort, and you can just let go before it gets anywhere close to the burning point.I like to leave it on the iron skillets because it's so easy to just grip the iron handle without thinking about it.I didn't notice any searing of the material of this Mitt.

The problem is that if the holder gets wet, it becomes useless as a heat-resister.It doesn't happen often, but all it takes is a drop of water to burn you.

I would recommend the silicone based holders, like HotHandle™ Silicone Cookware Handle Holder that I also got at the same time that I got the Lodge mitt. And no, I'm not a sales rep for them.Even if they get wet, the water doesn't penetrate through the mitt, so you're safe.Actually, I wouldn't recommend this one It's sold by Target, not Amazon, and it's a little bit too long for most Lodge handles.

I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this product, but when I got it I liked it a lot.I can see where it might burn if left pushed all the way on the handle, but I just simply slide it back towards the end of the handle, leave it there, and when I need to move or lift the pan, just slide it back down all the way on.It works like a good quality pot holder, and is a bit non-skid so it tends to grip pretty good.It fits in the hand well, and works as designed.Convenient to use with cast iron since the heat travels up the handles well, and you always need a pot holder or rag to keep from burning your hands. This is a well made product that works as intended.I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this product to use along with my new Lodge cast-iron skillet.During the last three weeks, I've used the mitt on exactly six occasions.Because the mitt heats up if left on the handle of the skillet, I've been careful to remove it after each use.Yet the mitt is already falling apart--there are numerous cracks in the fabric and the stuffing has become exposed, despite extremely light usage.

I do not recommend this product.

I received this as a Christmas gift (along with a cast iron skillet and lid). The mitt lasted less than a monthit scorched, cracked, and then frayed, even though it was never used at a higher temperature than listed. I have since replaced it with a silicon version I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond and it works much better.

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware SetThe non-stick coating on this cookware is called Autograph 2, it is one of the latest and best available. It is a three coat process that renders a very durable surface that can be used with metal utensils.

Purchased this set to replace our ancient mis-matched and abused pots and pans.First off I wanted to see if all of the claims were factual.Cleaned in the dishwasher, used metal utensils, even cooked eggs with no oil or spray, then used our portable induction burner.I can honestly say that everything passed with flying colors, the set is up to it all!

The hard anodised aluminum, which is stronger than steel, is thick and gives excellent heat distribution from the bottom and up the sides with no apparent "hot spots".Tried all of the cookware pieces on the induction burner with no problems at all.I will say that it's probably easier to clean this with just a wipe with a dishcloth and rinse, rather than use the dishwasher, the non stick is that good. Metal utensils worked fine, but we have so much of the nylon, as it was necessary with the old pots and pans, well, we use that.Could never fry eggs in the old stuff with out using some oil, not with this, the eggs just slide out.

We also purchased the four quart sauce pot and the covered stir fry pan to go with this set.The lid on the four quart fits the eight inch fry pan, nice to have.Have used the covered stir fry as a wok and as a steamer.Use a small stainless rack that fits in the bottom, great for steaming. Also, it does stir fry without as much heat as the old one, suppose because the heat conduction is so much better.

Am absolutely pleased with this purchase, it is tough, cooks very well and looks great!

Would I purchase again and recommend this set?----You bet I would!

()This is my first experience with a pan set in this price range. I have always been skeptical about these pricy sets, wondering if they really are any better. I have to say that I do think the price tag is worthy of the products in this case. I am in love with this set in every way.

The color is great a bronzy semi-matte metallic brown. I love the silicone grips on the lids and handles no more pot holders or oven mitts!

They are a nice weight, yet not overly bulky. They feel substantial and are a dream to cook with.

The non-stick surfaces are truly non-stick in every sense of the meaning. You know how when you dump out pasta into the strainer and there are a few lonely noodles left that kinda stick to the pan, not because they are burnt on, but just because of the starches I guess.. well that doesn't happen with these pans! EVERYTHING slides right off of and out of them. I know it is just a small rather meaningless example, but it is something that really sticks out to me as far as their performance with the non-stick coating.

They clean up so very well and super easily. Everything rinses right off. I have tried to overcook some items on/in these pans, just to really test them out and see if anything will stick, but so far nothing has. It is almost amazing. I have had other sets in the past that I thought were great, thought the non-stick coating was great, but there is something different and even better with these pans.

The sizing is great on these. I love that each piece is taller, instead of shorter and wider. The pour spout on the smaller pot is convenient.

There is something with the lids too, the way they sit on the pans or something that deters the pot from boiling over. The lids let out just enough steam I guess maybe, that it doesn't allow it to boil over. I have never used another set where I didn't have a boil over at some point. At one time or another as water was boiling for too long, the id would start to bobble and the water would boil out in between the pan and lid and of course over the side of the pan and onto the stove. This doesn't happen with this set.

The pans carmelize like heaven. I have never used a set that performed this well in that aspect. Everytime I cook with these, I fall in love all over again.

I really feel like everything cooks better in these. I originally thought the price tag was just for the brand name and they wouldn't be any better than my other Farberware set, but after using them for a while now it is easy to see that they do actually perform better overall and are worth it.

()This is our first new set or cookware in a long time and our first experience with anodized aluminum.

Anyway, on to our experience using this set, and dealing with customer service:

This is a very attractive cookware set, the chocolate brown coating is very well done IMHO and looks great on a stove top. Defintely does not look like a budget set at all.Additionally this set comes with all the bells and whistles of more expensive brands.Glass lids, silicone handles and scratch resistant teflon coatings.Metal thickness on the pots and pans seems equivalent to what is found on other sets as well.

Using the set with our gas stove has proven not to be an issue I was slightly concerned using the silicone sleeved handles with the gas cooktop.Ensuring not to use overly small pots on the biggest burner has meant this isn't an issue.

As to whether the pans are truly metal utensil safe we just don't plan on risking it.In fact our 2 quart pan developed a chip within the first couple of days of using it which we believed was a manufacturing defect. Here's the customer service part we didn't have to mail the pan back and the company promptly mailed us a new one.Great job on their part.

Small nitpick is that the handles are hollow at the base and near the tip but considering the value the set delivers in other places, I find the trade to be reasonable.

In summary, we are very happy with this.Happy cooking.

()Search Amazon or the Circulon site, and one will find a variety of cookware sets in a wide range of prices. The shopper wonders how much better the higher priced sets are and is this extra cost worth the outlay. I thought about these things when I bought Mrs. Spudman the Circulon Elite set for Christmas. She likes the set but found it wanting in number of pieces and in those lids with the annoying, hard to clean crevice on each one. When I was presented with the opportunity to review the Circulon Symmetry set of cookware, I wondered how different they could be and how much better they could be for the almost $150 price difference.

The difference in quality between the Circulon Symmentry cookware and its Elite cousin is readily apparent as one removes the new cookware from its carefully packed and protected cardboard cocoon. Each piece is resplendent in its elegance, design, and heavy composition. The handles are artfully designed and embellished with the Circulon logo. The ends of the Elite cookware have holes at the end of each piece to enable hanging. The Symmetry pieces have openings for hanging at the end of each handle, but the opening doesn't project through both sides of the handle. These pieces are so heavy that I'd be hesitant to hang them anyway.

The Symmetry pieces have a non sticking coating called Autograph. After some online research at cookware sites, Circulon and at DuPont, I concluded that the Autograph non stick treatment is a top of the line enhancement.

Other likes:

The small sauce pans have curved lips on the edges to accomodate pouring. A nice touch.

Symmetry pieces work well on our glasstop stove and heat quickly. Foods cook evenly and the only way cleanup could be easier is if somebody else did the cleaning for you.

Even though you normally can't see them, the bottoms of these pieces are aesthetic treats, shining in the middle witheasy to read, embedded printing stating the capacity of each piece.

Lids on the Symmetry pieces excel and surpass those of the Elite set. The lids are heavy and substantial with handles fastend with large screws that can be tightened as needed. No adjustments are possible on the Elite handles. Thes lids are also much easier to clean than the Elite lids because there is no hard to reach crevice built into the Symmetry lids.

We both find the chocolate exterior color very attractive. Also attractive that nonstick properties are on the outside and inside of each piece.

Finally The Circulon Elite is a nice set of pots and pans. It's a quality set one can own without breaking the bank. For those who are willing to pay more to move up a couple notches for a set that's both elegant in design and performs exquisitely, it's hard to find fault with the Circulon Symmetry set of cookware.

The cookware I ordered a month ago arrived in just a few days and I have been using all the pots and pans every day. They are the best cookware I have ever owned and I have had lots of sets in my 55 year marriage. I really love this set. They heat so even and are a breeze to wash. So far I haven't found anything to not like about them. The sets includes all the sizes of pots and pans I need. I am so happy I choose this set.

Nordic Ware Silver Dollar Waffle Griddle

Nordic Ware Silver Dollar Waffle Griddle9.20.2009 UPDATE

I am so surprised that this product only has 3 stars.I use this 2-3 times a month...I make 1 cup of gluten free mix which puts out 28-30 baby waffles...then I freeze them on a baking sheet, once frozen I then bag them. This process of freezing helps them not to stick to each other.

Every morning my daughter wakes up saying "waffles, waffles" she's 2.I put 4 in the cold toaster oven set it on broil...ready in2-3 minutes. When I make the batter I add a tablespoon of honey, maple or agave to the batter...gives the waffles a tiny taste of sweetness. They are then ready for munching...I do not add additional syrup...to messy for a 2 year old.She loves them this way.

One more thing I no longer oil the waffle pan this makes them browner & crispier...yes only one side gets the toasty color the other side is lightly toasted. For presentation I always lay the dark side up.I love this pan!

Original Review:

My baby girl loves these little waffles.I think she was getting bored w/pancakes...I use a gluten-free mix from Whole Foods by 365, their delicious...I love them too.Make sure the pan gets nice & hot (otherwise the batter does not get a nice toasty color to it), I lightly oil each little griddle & they come out perfect. Buy some nice maple syrup & organic butter...Yum. Enjoy.

Got this for my birthday from my mom (it had been in my wish list for while) and I am not disappointed. I have three little boys who love pancakes and I don't have room for a large waffle iron in my kitchen. I tried this out (using the recipe included with the pan) and they were delicious and easy.

My tips for success: butter or oil the pan before you put the mix in and only cook 4-5 at a time (otherwise I had trouble flipping them fast enough--or else I need to turn it down some more!) Sprays don't work as well (same as any other non-stick surface--they leave residue and buildup on the Teflon); oil with a basting brush is better. You use a fork to flip them and it's actually not too hard to flip them back into the little holes.

Bottom line: Great purchase. Fun. Tasty waffles. Worth the money! :)

P.S. Here is the recipe in case you misplaced it. I think that they work best with the recipe that came with it.

Nordic Ware Silver Dollar Waffle Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup flour

½ tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. sugar

¾ tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

1 egg

1 cup buttermilk

1 Tbsp. melted butter

Directions

Preheat pan over medium heat and season with butter or oil. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, sugar, baking powder and salt; set aside. Beat egg until light and fluffy. Add egg, buttermilk and butter to dry mixture; mix until blended. Spoon about 2 Tbsp. butter into each cavity, and cook until pancakes bubble. Turn each pancake over and continue cooking until pancakes are a light golden brown.

I was excited about this product and it seemed like such a good idea!I love waffles, but hate the bulk of and inability to easily clean a waffle maker. So this seemed like a perfect compromise. But for me, it just didn't work.I used vegetable oil to grease the pannot non stick spray since it seems to get "gunky" on non-stick surfaces, and then put my batter in.It scorched quite quickly, even though it was only on medium heat, and then they stuck to the pan when I tried to turn them over to cook the other side.Trying to turn them over was a bit awkward, too. I don't know if my experience was different since we have an electric flat-surface range? Perhaps cooking on a gas stove is different? But I was not happy with how it cooked or the ease of use.I guess I'll have to drag out the wafflemaker...

I LOVE Nordicware's products and was quite excited when I found this pan marked down at my local giant store. However, don't order this pan thinking that voila! You're going to get up and have a great time making waffles. Not so!This boy takes some serious practice to get them right. The instructions do not say at all if it needs oiled or not and since the finish is nonstick, you cannot spray it with cooking spray or it will peel off.So, my first batch, thinking that it might be the same coating they use for Williams Sonoma, was made without using any nonstick product.Well, I had waffle goo everywhere imaginable and crumbled up waffles. So, I dug it out, cleaned it, and tried again. (The ONLY thing that will clean this too, by the way, is a very soft, non-scratching bottle brush. You just wouldn't believe all the nooks and crannies this guy has!) This time I used butter in the waffle sections before I put in the batter.Guess what?It really works well! They flip out easily and you can actually turn them over without making a messy disaster. The directions indicate that you need to use a plastic fork to flip the waffles and believe me, that's the ONLY thing that works! They really should include that with this product it would definitely make life easier!Recommend, but be sure you use a good waffle recipe and butter in the compartments!

We've had this waffle pan since Christmas and have used it maybe 10 times, so I can now say that it's performance has been consistent and very good.I've used at least three different recipes in it, and they've all worked fine in terms of not sticking (more on that below), but we really like the flavor of the buttermilk recipe that came with the pan so I mostly make it.Specifics that might help:

1) I use this pan on a gas stove. When I get out the bowl to start the recipe, I put the pan on medium to heat.I think it cooks best if given a 8-10 minute heat-up period.

2) Based on another review here, I melt butter (real, of course) in a small pan next to the waffle pan and use a silicone pastry brush to brush melted butter into each waffle-spot before adding the batter. This not only works great (along with the non-stick of the pan itself) to release waffles, but tastes really good.We don't add any butter on top of the waffles because they already have a lovely browned-butter flavor.

3) I used a slightly-heaped tablespoon measure to put batter into each well.

4) Cook them until they look fairly dry on top, then use a small non-metal spatula or fork to flip them over.Press slightly on them to indent the 2nd side down into the waffle holes.

5) I use a plastic-bristle brush designed for cleaning baby bottles to clean the pan.I put a little dish soap onto it and scrub away. It's gentle enough that it doesn't scratch the non-stick surface, and the thing cleans VERY easily and quickly.

OVERALL: Compared to traditional waffle irons, easy clean-up is a huge part of the appeal.I used to almost never make waffles due to gooey and crispy bits of batter ending up everywhere, and a resulting sticky appliance. This one is so easy that I've used it ~10 times in five months.Plus, the waffles are really cute. The first side to cook gets nice and crispy and looks good; the other doesn't look as good; but that's true for any food item that gets flipped.I store it wrapped in a small towel to keep other pans from scratching its surface because I really like it and want it to last for years. With good treatment, it certainly seems like it will.

Browne Foodservice 573703 Thermalloy Cast Iron Stir Fry Skillet with Ergonomic Handle, Round

Browne Foodservice 573703 Thermalloy Cast Iron Stir Fry Skillet with Ergonomic Handle, RoundI've used cast iron cookware before, mostly the revered Lodge brand, and one thing I wished most was a more substantial handle. When I saw this product I just had to try it, finally getting that ergonomic feel and handling I wanted... but after using it I noticed some room for improvement.

First the annoying things I observed after using it:

My copy wasn't perfectly flat on the bottom. On a tabletop, one side is not in contact with the surface. It was very minimal to the point that oil didn't immediately pool to one side, but eventually it slowly did once it heated up and spread thin. To be fair, some of my aluminum cookware exhibits this problem too, and the levelness of the stove grill could very well be a factor.

The handle looks as if it was attached to the skillet as a separate casting process. The transition from the handle to the pan is not smooth like a one-piece design like most Lodge products.

The hole in the handle has some exposed iron (see my pictuers), as if parts of iron were scraped away after its been casted. Research suggest that cast iron does rust, so I'm a little worried about these exposes parts thats hard to get to seasoning-wise.

My eyes may be playing tricks on me, but the orientation of the handle itself seems not perfectly perpendicular to the edge of the pan. I'm talking about less than a degree off, but thats purely cosmetic I guess.

Now the advantages that redeem this pan up to excellent, but not perfect:

+ The weight of the handle is a blessing from the cast iron gods. Just like how a heavier DLSR camera body makes a heavy lens feel more balance, so does this in concept and in my experience.

+ The shape and feel of the handle is another plus just because the shape conforms nicely in my hand. Its thicker towards the end where my palm meets and substantially more rounder than typical cast iron handles. To me, it feel likes I'm holding a golf club versus a serving spoon.

+ The thickness of the pan feels substantial. I'm not talking about the height of the side walls, but the amount of material between the heat source and your food. To the best of my ability, I measured a thickness of 1/8 inches. In my experience, this pan cooked very evenly on my gas burner (see my pancake picture).

+ Since the handle has much more material, it takes longer to heat up so I don't have to resort to heat-resistant holders until later, most of the time my food is already cooked by then. But it does get hot eventually, and seemingly more so than little skinny handles. The good thing though is that all my handle holders now fit better on this thicker handle =)

+ The surface of the cast iron itself looks great. Its picking up a non-stick seasoning very fast.

So all in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and willing to recommend it despite the drawbacks I mentioned. Hopefully its an isolated thing or they refine their manufacturing process. Nonetheless, its an excellent pan! Not perfect cosmetically have you, but nearly so in performance. I would rate it a solid 4.5 stars for now, but time will tell if the exposed iron becomes a problem and I adjust my review accordingly.

Calphalon 8-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.

Calphalon 8-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.For most of human history, we managed just fine without non-stick pans and this pan is a fine example of why you really need not bother with Teflon or any other type of non-stick pan. Read the reviews for this and other Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized pans and you'll hear that food releases when it's done. Cook things properly and they'll slide right off. I love not worrying about scratching a non-stick surface. The anodized aluminum has many of the advantages of cast iron without the hassles (cleaning issues) and worries (rust). No need to season with oil in the oven, etc. Just use it a few times and it breaks in nicely. Your first fried egg or two might stick, but don't be discouraged.

I bought this pan for my son and his partner for Christmas. They absolutely love this pan. It's well made and performs as they expected.

Buy Calphalon 8-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan. Now

Great little pan.Solid and well made.Dishwasher and oven safe. However, make no mistake. This is not a non-stick pan.Even with a lot of butter in the pan, eggs stick terribly. Thus, minus one star on a pan Calphalon labels as an omelette pan.

With that said, if you want a little pan for searing a filet mignon for one person, this pan is perfect. If you want to cook for more than one person, I would recommend the 10 inch version of this pan.

Cuisinart Contour Hard Anodized Open Skillet

Cuisinart 6422-30H Contour Hard Anodized 12-Inch Open Skillet with Helper HandleThe product is excellent and I highly recommend, however the description implies that the 10" and 8" come with a glass lid which I did not receive. The Skillet is still worth the price alone, therefore I will be keeping it. Four stars for misrepresentation.

I was surprised at how well and sturdy this pan is made and how easy it is to cook on.Things don't stick and the sides are steeper than a regular pan so it allows you to put more food in than that average 8" pan.Great for a single meal, frittata, pancakes. One perk is you can stick in under the broiler.A lot of pans aren't broiler safe like this one (says on the package). The only drawback is it does not have a lid and I can't find an 8" lid anywhere.I'm going to check out the salvation army for an oddball lid size.

Lid Maid Pot/Pan Lid Organizer

Lid Maid Pot/Pan Lid OrganizerThere's not much to the Lid Maid just a long plastic box with a divider running down the middle, which slides on a track. For us, however, it was a godsend.I installed the lid organizer alongside a Rubbermaid slide-out plastic bin.Miraculously, I managed to squeeze all but the largest lids into the organizer. Now, instead of digging through a pile of containers looking for the right size and a lid to match, then frantically shoving everything back in and trying to close the door before the avalanche began, we just pull out the container bin, select one, and then pull out the Lid Maid to find its lid.Truly a beautiful thing.

The construction isn't super-sturdy, but it does the job.Installation was simple just a couple of screws. We've been using it for most of a year and haven't had any trouble with the sliding mechanism, nor does it show signs of wear.

I returned this lid rack after discovering that it was too deep for my old school custom cabinets. Seemed like it would work good though for normal depth cabinets. Make sure you verify the depth before you buy!

I have bought two of these skillets and I love them.Love love the strainer option.Love the deep deep sides. The paint did come off a little on the rim after much cooking but hay its a skillet. The teflon coating has lasted very well.Love the plain handle so I can but in oven to continue baking option.

I was hesitant to buy a pan that I had not seen first, as this was a gift for my mother. However, it appears very well crafted, and in wonderful condition. I have not used the pan yet, however, so we will see how well it holds up.

Ecolution Artistry 12-Piece Cookware Set, Black

Ecolution Artistry 12-Piece Cookware Set, BlackEverything pictured on box is present. 12 Pieces. I love this cookware first time my fry pans are NOT getting all scratched up! And it's a great non-stick which makes cleaning a breeze. I haven't used all the pieces yet but like it so far.

The photo does not match the actual contents of the set. (The Ecolution Artistry Eco-Friendly Chicken Fryer with High Dome Glass Lid is not included.) The text description is correct: "8-Inch Fry Pan, 9.5-Inch Fry Pan, 11-Inch Fry pan, 1-Quart Saucepan with glass lid, 2-Quart Saucepan with glass lid, 5-Quart Dutch Oven with glass lid, Bamboo Spatula, Bamboo Spoon, and a collapsible Silicone Steamer." The lid for the Dutch Oven also fits the 9.5" frying pan. No lid is included for the 11-inch frying pan.

Low rating is for the mismatched photo only. The pans actually seem pretty nice! (Haven't used them yet.)

Norpro Mini Nonstick Carbon Steel 6-Inch Fry Pan

Norpro Mini Nonstick Carbon Steel 6-Inch Fry PanBought this cheap non-stick pan for eggs; the teflon started rubbing off only after a couple uses and the pan has started to rust. Dont waste your time and money with this pan

Ist try with pan was to cook a scrambled egg on moderate electric heat. Pan was seasoned ahead of time with Crisco. Egg stuck to pan in many different places and burnt the egg in the middle. In disgust, I disposed of the pan in the trash.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Omelette Pan

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Omelette PanThis pan is amazing. It passed our hash brown test. My other skillets, no matter how hard I tried and no matter what I did, they would ALWAYS stick. Even to my stainless steel skillets!!

Not with this wonderful skillet!! I sprayed some Extra Virgin Olive Oil with my Misto Oil Sprayer, that I also got from Amazon, and not ONE bit of the hash browns stuck to this skillet. They browned and came out amazing!! Then I made gooey, cheesy scrambled eggs!! Again, NO STICKING!! And clean up is a snap-wait until the pan cools and put in the sink with hot soapy water, very lightly wash, rinse, dry and your done!!

I love this Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware!!!! I got all the matching pieces to the original 10pc set I got from Amazon and threw my other pans away!! I even went to the Calphalon site to order lids for the omlette pans-too bad they do not come with the set-I can always use the lids with the omlette pans. They do not make a lid for the stir fry pan though.

If you buy this cookware, you will NOT be sorry!! Just hand wash as they state, DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER, use nylon cooking utensils and get the Misto Oil Sprayer, and you'll be a happy cooker!! NO MORE stuck food!!!

I just cannot rave enough about this cookware!!!! I'm having fun in the kitchen again!!!!

I love this pan.It is one of my favorite cookware pieces.Whenever I need a large pan, this is it.It's nice and heavy, heats quickly and cooks evenly. It don't have any problems with food sticking to it so cleanup is easy. The lid is made of glass, so I can see how my food is cooking and I can put the whole thing in the oven when I need to.

Large and durable, I've had this pan for years and cooking surface is still in great condition.

This is pass #2 with the non-stick versions of Calphalon cookware that I expected would last longer than 7 years -but this is our fault, not the manufacturers. We are proud owners of a full set of Calphalon professional cookware and it cooks as well today as it did 15 years ago when we first got it (albeit with some cosmetic degradation...just like me).I think we were lulled to sleep by the seeming indestructable nature of the hard anodized stuff and took liberties with the non-stick version that we weren't entitled to (kind of like that friend of the opposite sex that you constantly get drunk with and make innuendos...eventually, you get slapped. The non-stick pans finally decided to stop pretending our "smooth surface" double entendres were cute.)

These cook evenly and clean easily, but you MUST:

heat the pans with medium heat

do the butter test at least once so you know the right interaction between pan and your stove

never use anything but wooden, silicone or plastic utensils in the pan (no you CAN'T be careful with that metal fork!)

They are easier to use than the pro stuff (my wife won't even touch the hard anodized versions any more...or at least she won't clean them, if we're being honest) but you have to take care of them.

This nonstick frying pan is awesome. If you buy it, read the directions because there were things I didn't know about caring for this pan. Don't put it in the dishwasher. All you do is wash in with a soft sponge and rise and dry it. It is an excellent pan and I highly recommend it.

Babycakes CP-12 Cake Pop Maker, 12 Cake Pop Capacity, Purple

Babycakes CP-12 Cake Pop Maker, 12 Cake Pop Capacity, PurpleI like it. It's easy to use, takes little care and comes with some nice accessories, such as pop sticks, a drying rack, a little fork and a syringe. Though these items are not made for heavy use, they are more than adequate for us non-pros. If you follow the instructions, you can easily produce doughnut holes/cake pops. This item produces more pops in one batch than other makers on the market. I suspect the balls may be slightly smaller, but to a 6-year-old, that doesn't matter. A dozen at a time is more or less a 'batch' sothis model works well. The fork makes it easy to remove the balls from the maker and put them on a cooling rack. We've used a white cake mix, a brownie mix and a gingerbread mix and are pleased with the results. My wife used the injector to put melted marscapone into the gingerbread balls. It did a good job and the results are tasty. The key is to follow the instructions and to have someone who knows how the different type of mixes bake. The brownie mix takes a little longer than the white cake mix. The gingerbread pops took 3.5 minutes, but my wife decreased the water by about an ounce, so the batter was a little heavy. I did the white cake mix and baked them for 4.5 minutes each batch. The cake mix yielded 6.5 batches. The brownie mix produced about two dozen. Now some suggestions. Getting the right amount of batter into each well is crucial to a good pop; too little and they're not as round, too much and you get something that looks like Saturn and there's more clean-up. The brownies had mini-chocolate chips in them and many didn't make it into a ball. To get the right amount of batter and do it quickly, I recommend using a pancake batter pencil. You can add cake batter and squeeze out the right amount quickly. For thicker batters with chips and such, use a cookie press. The press should push the chips through. Trying to spoon a tablespoon of batter into the wells gets messy. You can use a canning (wide-mouth) funnel to transfer batter from your mixing bowl into the pancake batter pencil. Have fun.

I have to start off by saying that these are not traditional cake pops.Usually cake pops are made by mushing up a cooled cake with icing and forming them into balls. This product simply makes balls of cake. And it works beautifully! There are a few tips you should be aware of though:

-Like other reviews stated, you will get "saturn rings"...but only if you overfill!I find the perfect spot is filled to right below the top of the well. This produces perfect little spheres without the overflow.

-You will probably have to use an oven mitt. This thing gets HOT!

-Use a pastry bag when filling the wells. If you don't have a pasty bag, use a large zip-lock bag with the corner snipped off. This allows you to get precisely the right amount of filling without getting it everywhere.

-You MUST must must freeze the cake balls for 15 minutes before putting them on a stick and dipping them!To help them adhere after freezing, dip the stick in a little bit of melted chocolate and then insert into the cake ball.Pop them back into the freezer for a few minutes, and then dip away!

-For a better dipping experience, use a little bit (a tablespoon or so) or vegetable oil to thin the candy melts. After dipping, gently tap the stick on the side of your bowl while rotating the stick to get off excess chocolate.

Overall, this is a great little device that does exactly what it's supposed to do if you follow the directions.I will never go back to hand rolling cake pops again!

I love my cakemaker. I waited a few months for this through Kohls, which was WAY cheaper than Amazon.com. I just got it and I've already made cake pops, brownie bites, doughnut holes, and takoyaki. It is so versatile with the shape and how small it is. Its definitely one of the smaller models of the babycakes series, but it makes for great bite size treats. Remember, cake pops are not going to be the traditional dense ones, but you can still chill the round cakes, put a stick in it, and dip it in chocolate. It still turns out very good. I actually prefer this to the usual dense crumbly ones. It feels more like cake instead of smashed cake pounded together. The takoyaki, which is a japanese food, turned out great; better than expected! The nonstick surface is fabulous and it heats up and cools down very fast. The cook time is amazing as well, only 6-8 minutes.

The only cons I can see is the really short power cord (only two feet approx) and that the outside plastic gets quite warm (almost hot) to the touch when heating and baking. The lid will get loose if you're not careful.

When I first got my cake pop maker I admit I had some of the same problems as others did. However, with further experimentation I found that in order to get sphere cake balls you have to refrigerate your cake batter. I keep my batter in the fridge even while I have some of it baking. When I fill the holes I then put the pancake pen in the fridge as well. If you don't the balls will flatten on the top. I have used red velvet, french vanilla, marble, devils food, etc.

The only issue I have with the make is it gets so hot that you sometimes need to help of a dish rag to get it open. If it feels like the latch wont open push down on the top with a rag and then try the latch. I would highly recommend this cake pop maker to anyone who likes to bake for fun. Once you get the hang of the cake pop maker it is so easy to use. I have baked upwards of 270 cake pops at one time.

If you have trouble getting the batter into the cake pop maker I recommend the Tovolo 80-4784 Pancake Pen 3-Cup Batter Dispenser it runs about $10 you can get it on Amazon or at Bed, Bath & Beyond (20% off coupon will save you $2)

If you want to melt your own chocolate the Wilton Chocolate Pro Electric Melting Pot is wonderful! You can get it on Amazon for $25 or Michaels always has 40% off coupons so you could get it for about $20.

I hope this helped, and good baking!!!

I purchased this item to make cakepops the "easy" way. Prior to ordering this machine, I became impatient and made cakepops the traditional way. If you've ever made cakepops, this is a breeze compared to the multitude of steps you need to make them the traditional way so this was a relief...

Upon receiving this, I made a batch of cakepops which came out so-so despite watching reviews/videos. I used boxed cake mix and the balls came out mostly round, some off (as others mention the top and bottoms not lining up correctly), some UFO's and some that just weren't round. I used some boxed cake mix and substituted milk for water as some had suggested, even let the batter sit out. I was mostly satisfied with round 1...

Following, I did another round of cakepops for easter...in addition to decorating easter eggs, we decorated cakepops which was a huge hit for the kids! this time again, I used boxed cake mix and I suppose because I had the experience of round 1, these cakepops came out PERFECT. no irregular balls...all perfectly round...

My suggestions:

-don't use this for the first time and expect to have perfect pops. Moreover, don't use this the night before you are planning to have some pops for an occasion...practice a bit because this and dipping to have a clean look takes some practice...make sure whatever you're dipping in is thin enough so that there is not too much weight/thickness in the coating. As the excess drips, it pulls on the pop and you could have a pop fatality ( i had many of these during round 1...round 2 i'm happy to report NO fatalities)! I would suggest if using chocolate, thin it down...if not, use thinned down candy melts/almondbark/non tempering chocolate...

-If you are ok with just a plain cake flavor, this will be perfect for you. If you are looking for that extra moist and extra dense flavor of traditional cakepops, this is not for you...however, this will suffice for an activity with the kids or just a quick something to impress with at your next get together. most of the people I have had taste test between the two have liked traditional cakepops better taste wise...

TIPS:

-Cooking time...-if you are a perfectionist as I am, it doesn't take 6 minutes for your pops to finish...so don't even count on using that as a guide. Rather, use your own judgement. I believe waiting 6 minutes will give you dry, if not burnt pops. I used pillsbury cake mix and i'd set my timer for 3 minutes, open it and all the pops were almost done. I would then flip them over to get even coloring and leave them for about 30 seconds...voila...perfect pops...experiment though because I imagine different cake mixes and flavors will vary in cooking time...

-don't spoon in the batter because the machine gets rather hot and if you want even cooking amongst your pops, opt for piping them in. I don't suggest a ziploc bag with the corner cut off...too messy...

-fill the wells up to almost full...meaning not quite at the top of the well but just below. I've found that they make perfect pops. If you underfill, your pops will be lopsided, If you overfill, you may come out with saturn looking pops...

-If you use boxed cake mix, substitute milk for water and so far, pilsbury has been the most successful for me...it's thicker and holds together better than some of the more watery cake mixes...

Overall, this is a GREAT product that does exactly what it says it will...wouldn't give it anything less than 5 stars as it performs...anything less is due to the user vs the product itself...

Eco Life Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Fry Pan, 2-Pack

Eco Life Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Fry Pan, 2-PackI recently purchased a roasting pan by the same company and loved the weight, size, and the fact that there are no PFO/PFTE used in making the pan. This lead me to give these frying pans a try and I have not been dissapointed. The sizes are great and the non-stick works perfectly. They may seem pricey but after researching many brands of safe non-stick pans that had poor reviews I am very happy that I decided to try the frying pans from Eco Life.

I am very picky about cookware. I have gone through many non stick pans through the years and these are some of the best. The coating is not just one of the most "non stick" that I have used, it is also one of the most durable. I have been using these pans for almost a year now and see almost no wear to the cooking surface. Overall if you are in need of a quality product for a reasonable price these are a good pick.

Trying to avoid Teflon I purchased these coated aluminum pans.Don't know if this coating is any tougher or safer. They are fine for daily general use, not fancy but adequate. The coating appears to be holding up well so far (three weeks) and I've had no issues of sticking. The handles are hollow and have a brushed aluminum appearance, not real solid stainless so the pans are light grade.Don't use high heat and use wood or nylon tools and these should be worth the price.

Looking for a ceramic non-stick pan, I had high hopes for this because I thought it was like one I had purchased for my mom. The coating looked great and would probably last about as long as the next pan, but I couldn't keep it to make sure because it warped when I put it on the heat. I have a glass cook top and as soon as I set the pan down I noticed it rocked back and forth a little, getting worse as it heated up. I went up to a higher price point and found heavier built pans.

Camp Chef 24IN Reversible Grill/Griddle

Camp Chef CGG24 Cast iron grill/griddleThis combo is a SOLID 25 lbs. Good quality product. Be sure to follow the directions and season it before its initial use. It would be a good idea to have a baster handy to siphon the excess grease from the grill. I used sea salt to clean up and made sure to dry the unit thoroughly before storing it away in the carry bag.

The grill works as promised. We use it only for pancakes. The metal surface is smooth and high quality cast iron. The only problem is this puppy is heavy and large. Perhaps I got carried away when ordering one this big.

Buy Camp Chef 24IN Reversible Grill/Griddle Now

I bought this griddle for pancakes, grilled cheese, and the occasional hibachi-style Asian meal for my growing family.Overall, I think it's a solid choice for such tasks. It transfers and holds heat well, as cast iron typically will. The manufacturer's shipping department, however, proved unreliable to say the least. The first one we received was cracked due to insufficient packaging, and then they replaced it with the wrong product, and finally, almost a month after ordering it, a new one was delivered intact.I hope this experience is not typical, and the customer service rep was personally helpful.

The griddle is pretty well constructed, though I noticed that the flat side was not as flat as it should have been.It looked as if the ridges on the other side had caused a few undulations in the surface. It's not severe enough to really affect day-to-day use so far, but don't expect a plate-glass-flat surface.

I use this griddle on top of my 5-burner gas stove, and I can run all five burners under it for a full cooking surface.Or I can turn on two or three burners and reserve a space for keeping food warm.Be advised that there will still be some cooler spots between the burners, even with all of them going. If you insist on very even heat across the whole surface, you might be happier with a high-end electric griddle. That said, cast iron heats more evenly over a burner than most other cookware made of other materials, and you can learn to utilize the cooler spaces for slower cooking.

Anyone considering buying this product should think carefully about the product specs. The usable cooking surface is 23"X13", which is big.But be sure it will fit on your intended heat source. It may not sit securely on some stovetops. And yes, it really does weigh 25 lbs.Suffice to say, cleaning it can be a challenge.I usually scrape it thoroughly with a nylon scraper or spatula while it's still warm, and wash it down with hot, soapy water while it's still on the stovetop but has cooled somewhat. Then I heave it over to the sink to rinse it off with the sprayer.I return it to the stovetop to dry it over low heat.Or you can use a paper towel to dry it.I really like cooking on cast iron, so I think this extra trouble is worth it.

The griddle comes with a handy bag for storage, though the zipper broke almost immediately. And finding storage space for something this size can be interesting. It fits in one of our cabinets, but barely. The included instructions suggest seasoning the griddle before using. That's a nice idea, but it doesn't fit in my oven, and because seasoning produces a lot of smoke, I'm not about to do this on the stovetop.Fortunately, a well-cared-for cast iron surface will eventually build up a very nicely seasoned surface. Finally, although this feels very durable, be aware that any cast iron can crack or shatter if dropped on a hard surface, so handle it carefully when moving it.

Although this griddle can cook a pound of bacon at a time, it has a major design flaw. The manufacturer did not temper this capacious slab of cast iron.So while enjoying the normal popping and splattering noises of bacon being rendering into luscious breakfast meat, I suddenly heard an explosion. Someone had fired a 50-caliber round into my kitchen at short range! Ok, no. It was just my new griddle. It had cracked right down the middle. Cast iron items must be "tempered" at the factory post-casting. This object probably was not. I can't recommend it, because the resulting crack lets cooking grease drip right over the burners.

It was larger and heavier than I expected, so great quality. That also makes it hard to wash, but I am absolutely happy with my purchase.

I actually use it on top of my stove and grills excellent. I can make anything from Waffle House style pancakes and hash browns, to the best grilled chicken perfect for a panini sandwich.

Worth the buy.
