FARBERWARE Classic Stainless Steel Fry Pan - 10 Inch ~ With & Without Lid
The pan is heavy based (aluminum core with 18/10 stainless steel) and dispurses heat quickly and evenly. This allows for all types of pan cooking, including frying chicken or pork chops to saute veggies or stir fry to slow cooking a chilli without hot spots in the pan.Clean up is easy and is advertised as dishwasher safe, but my son doesn't have a dishwasher in his apartment, but will take Farberware's word for it, along with the handle being oven safe to 350 degrees.
The tight fitting lid allows for quick steaming or cooking the top of sunny side up eggs without breaking the yoke or flipping the egg, you get a once over easy egg without having to actually flip the egg.
A great fry pan for almost any application.
I have always wanted to own a classic aluminum piece of cookware and a skillet was a perfect choice.I had two gift certificates from doing online surveys so my total cost out of pocket after shipping was added was .58.So, I thought even if I didn't like the pan a great deal once I got it I only paid .58 cents and it would be no big loss. Was I pleasantly surprised at the curvy lines and clean appearance and tight fitting lid.It cooks wonderfully and the rolled, high sides make cooking even easier and cleanup is easy too.I can see myself reaching for this skillet time and time again.(The only flaw is it could use a handle on the opposite side to make draining liquids easier.):-)

Nice pan, but the product description of 4.4" height is deceiving. We thought the pan would be that deep, but apparently the height measurement includes the lid.Want FARBERWARE Classic Stainless Steel Fry Pan - 10 Inch ~ With & Without Lid Discount?
I have had a set of Farberware Classic pans since the late 1970's.Just recently, getting tired of non-stick steel pans with peeling black interiors, I decided to buy some good Farberware stainless sauce pans. When I saw that I could get a 10 inch pan with deeper interior I jumped on it.I can make dishes like Rice-A-Roni or spaghetti sauce without it slopping over the sides like the regular 10" pans. Now all of the Farberware Classic pans have a stainless cap over a thicker aluminum base for easier cleanup and a nicer look.I was not aware of this change until recently and am very happy that Farberware has made this improvement.I have purchased several sizes of the new pans and they have been a great addition to my collection.Thank you Farberware!!!

Magefesa Due Blue Enamel On Steel 9 Inch Fry Pan
We are careful to not use metal (unless we need to) and we can't be bothered to hand wash. Whatever doesn't make it through the dishwasher we throw away! :)
Bought this one because it was very low price and it works great! Will definitely consider re-purchase when it starts to degrade (unless we find something lower price!).
Bene Casa Frypan N/S 6" w/ Glass Lid
Prior to purchasing this pan, I used a Calphalon 6-inch omelet pan that they don't make anymore with a lid from the thrift stove that fit just inside the lip.It worked well enough, but looked junky.Having a fitted glass lid with a vent is better. Not just in the looks department. The vent allows some of the steam to escape and being glass you can see if the eggs have firmed up without removing the lid and losing steam and heat.
I have no idea about the long term durability of this product.I have been using it daily since I got it four or five weeks ago and I see no signs of wear.I love this little plan. It is great for sauteeing onions, grilling a sandwich or frying eggs. I bought it to replace a small frying pan my daughter took to college, but this one is even better because of the lid.
Buy Bene Casa Frypan N/S 6" w/ Glass Lid Now
This pan has one major flaw that should rule it out:it falls over because the handle is so much heavier than the pan itself. When the pan is empty or has a few lightweight items in it (e.g. an egg or a small onion), it WILL fall over, nearly 100% of the time--even if you put it on a flat countertop. The only conditions under which it won't fall over are if you are holding the handle, if the glass cover is on it, or if heavy food items are inside.Quality is otherwise pretty good.Non-stick works great, well-made lid fits nicely, and it cooks acceptably well. The imbalance issue makes it a "don't buy," because in most common cooking use, at some point, one will need to lift off the counterbalance of the glass lid, or let go of the handle; and a hot pan containing hot food or oil could cause injury, damage to the fallen pan or at least a total mess of the stove.I love the hard-to-find 6 inch size and the fact that it has a nice lid, and will probably not spend the time or the cost of returning it.I'll find some very limited, and CAREFUL, use of it.For safety reasons alone, I would not recommend it.

I bought this item as a gift and she loves it. As a single person she didn't need a large skillet in cook in so it is perfect for her.we need a little pan with a lid and it's not easy to find one so we are happy that we find this oneStarfrit 12 Inch Stainless Steel Lid
This lid is perfect for my skillet. It is light and easy to handle. It fits the skillet perfectly and cools off fast. When taking it off the skillet to stir something cooking, it is easy to invert and set on the counter. I love it and store it with my skillet. I would buy this lid again.I needed a lid that was light weight to use with my cast iron skillet, but sturdy enough to hold up to the high heat of the cast iron and to hold in the heat when frying my chicken.Perfect fit!

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 9" & 11.5" Skillet Twin Pack
Our long lasting Stainless pans finally gave up (handles broke off), they were used daily for over 40 years and didn't owe us a thing!
Tried these Kitchen Aids and some compatible tools and are very happy with their performance, ease of use, easy cleaning etc. I don't expect the extra long life of our Stainless set but their quality and ease of use make them a pleasure to use.I really like the 9" pan for I am single and frying is made easier for portion size with a slightly bigger pan than an 8 inch smaller than a 10 inch. And the larger pan 11 1/2 inch is great for bigger portions when company is coming. Easy Clean up.

OXO Good Grips Splatter Screen with Folding Handle
Given that I focus on Italian food, we have more than our share of fried food.Whenever you are making cannoli, fritto misto or spingi the grease is splattering everywhere. There is nothing I hate more than cleaning the kitchen after frying something.
This splatter screen has very small holes on a perforated surface. The holes allow steam to escape and contain most, but not all, of the splattering grease. They also keep you from looking into the pan while the food is frying.Given that you have to lift the screen to see inside the pan, there is a little grease to clean up after using this screen. The clean up is easier than with a traditional splatter screen.
I also like that the handle folds up on this screen making it easier to store.Overall, I would recommend this product. You have to be careful when you lift it off the pan that you keep it horizontal because if you raise it to a vertical position, it will double back and you will risk getting hot grease, or hot water/steam on you.
As far as the amount of splatter control, I don't find that it is a lot better than normal splatter screens.I have to lay a paper towel over the top while frying as there still is too much splatter.
I find that the fitting on top of pans is about somewhat better than a regular splatter screen, but not as good as I was expecting.
I bought a new dishwasher that the racks are adjustable, but it still will only fit in one place in my dishwasher or it will flop around.

For a kitchen gadget that you normally categorize as a "can do without" item, I have found this a very useful kitchen tool. I had used the mesh type before and found they didn't last and were a pain to clean. This is a quality item. It is easy to clean and does it's job very well.

I've purchased this item about 3 months ago, and I love it. When I first got it in I was a bit suprised and upset. Because the screen was metal and not mesh. But the first time I used this and had to clean it. I realized that the metal was much better then the mesh. Its so much easier to clean then mesh. You don't have to worry about little pieces of things getting stuck in the holes and you pick at the mesh to get it out. An then the mesh is messed up because you picked at it and then the mesh becomes misshaped. All in all this is a really good product. I like it so much, I buying a few for Christmas presents for family.

Wow, this is a vast improvement over the ordinary splatter screens you can get anywhere. First of all, it's not made of the standard screening like in window screens. It's made of a sheet of perforated stainless steel like a perforated pizza pan but with smaller holes. Sooo much easier to clean and you don't have to be careful not to poke a hole in it or dent it when cleaning and storing it. It also has 3 circular "ribs" in it that allow it to sit securely on different size skillets and pans. No more slipping off the skillet. And the sturdy, folding handle is so clever. You can really wash this in the dishwasher because it's so sturdy and with the handle folded down, it fits!!! In my opinion, this is definitely worth the extra money and you probably won't ever have to replace it.

Wilton does it again! I love their shaped pans as a rule but this one is especially cute. I have subjected this pan to heavy use for 3 years now, and am happy to report it is still in great shape, including the tephlon. Not sure why the other user has such a disturbing problem, but I will say I have never put this in the dishwasher ever.I'm not saying the other user did, just trying to understand such different user results.
The lid is heavy, but that has never been an issue for me personally. To my mind, the main point of a good lid is that it creates a good seal, which this does.I also like the fact that I can kind of see the food throught the steamed glass to see how things are going without lifting the lid.

Cuisinart French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless French Skillets
30 years ago my wife and I bought stainless steel pots with a triple heavy base so why it took me so long to get these fry pans is beyond me. I tested the French Skillet using a pork chop. We have an electric glass top stove and I used a heat level of about 6 1/2 . I used a tablespoon of corn oil in the pan and let it get hot. I salted and peppered the chop and dropped it in the pan. It stuck to the bottom immediately but I didn't try to move it. I kept touching the side, tapping gently until eventually it unstuck itself. I flipped it over and followed the same steps. I took it off the burner, put the chop on a plate and let it rest for five minutes. I couldn't wait any longer, I tasted the chop. Delicious! I put a small amount of water in the pan and ate the rest of the chop. I turned to the pan and put it in the sink to clean. I soaped up a scrub sponge and got to work. Surprisingly it cleaned up in a flash easy as pie. I now have the 8" and the 10" and am saving for the 12".

We have the entire set plus some extras of the Cuisinart French series. We love all the pans, but disappointed that Cuisinart couldnt find a way to keep the 12" helper handle from getting burning hot.Other than that we love the series, just need to be mindful of this particular pan when using it.We have the 8 and 10in also (incuded in set) and love them.By far the best pans we have owned.I now cook my steaks in these pans instead of firing up the grill.

I love these pans! Everything just slides right off onto the plate and there isn't any residue left over...The lids are odd, though. They don't sit on the edge of the pan like most pots, but sit kind of down into the pan. The 2 qt pan feels a little small, but all in all I like them very much.I have been looking for a cookware product that I was willing to take a chance on purchasing and Wearever cookware fit the bill.It is as it is described. Lightweight and easy to clean.

Cuisinart FCT33-28H French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and C
The French Classic is by far the nicest looking. The mirror polished outside of the pans is like a chrome bumper on a classic car.Interestingly, you can get reproductions of chrome bumpers done in polished stainless steel. They hold up very well, and scratches can be polished out of them.I assume the same can be said for these pots. The French Classic line also has nicer handles. They are cast steel, versus stamped, and are thus more substantial. They are unique, and artistic. They also have a flat spot that extends out a bit from the pot, before the first hole.Others, including the Multi-Clad Pro line have a handle that branches into a Y shape before it attaches to the pot. This Y shape lets spilled food run down the side of the pan and stick in the Y, which is hard to clean. The French Classic's handle is a solid piece for about a half inch out from the pot, forming an easier to clean ledge, instead of a tight, food catching triangle formed by the pot wall and the Y shape. Finally, the French handle is attached with noticeably smaller rivets, which are also smoother, meaning they will be easier to clean. The MCP's rivets look like...well they look like they were made in China, slightly rough and misshapen.
Let's talk lids. They both are non-magnetic polished stainless, as opposed to the pots themselves, which are magnetic. They aren't the same materials, though. The MCP lid is thinner and softer.Heck, a regular kitchen towel left swirl marks on it when I dried it.The same towel did nothing on the French lid.I would say that the Frenchie fits tighter because the rim of the pot isn't rolled like the MCP. Let's talk handles. The MCP handle (and lid) shows finger prints much easier than the French handle (and lid). There is a difference in polishing technique that has somehow resulted in a better surface on the French line. This will pay off as the pots get used.
The MultiClad line has two functional advantages over the French Classic, though.First, the lips of the pots are rolled outward, making it a bit easier to pour from them. I don't do that very often, so it's not a factor for me.Second, the outside is two tone. Most of the pot is brushed stainless, but the top half inch and the lid are mirror polished. The brushed stainless might wear better than the entirely polished (except the bottoms) French Classic outsides, although you can polish a scratch out of a mirror finish, but not a brushed finish.Appearance wise, it's a matter of taste, but I can tell you the unique handles and mirror polish of the Frenchie is striking.
On to cooking performance...they seem the same to me.Both have the same weight, construction and interior material and finish, which are identical to the other brands. So far, I've cooked steaks, taco meat, oatmeal, bacon and eggs in these two pans.A little soaking and a light scrubbing with a dish rag gets them clean. Not much harder to clean than the outgoing Circulon non-stick stuff.I did notice a slight haze developing on the inside that I couldn't clean off with a soapy rag, but a very light with Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ took care of that.Basically, both lines seem to be easy to clean, except for the fingerprints and swirl marks mentioned above. As for heat transfer, well they both worked at least as good as the old Circulon anodised aluminium, and I don't have to worry about non-stick coatings or aluminium leaching. One advantage over the non-stick is that you can get caramelization to form on the food and the pan when you saute a steak or some onions.Deglaze the pan with red wine or liquid of your choice and reduce it down to a nice sauce. The steak I made in this pan with mushrooms and onions in a red wine sauce was one of the best steaks I've ever had.
Ok, so which line is better, the French Classic or the Multi-Clad Pro?Which set will be brought in to replace the Circulon set?Hmmm...performance is the same. The Frenchie price is a bit higher, but not much higher if you shop around.Appearance is definitely different between the two lines, and I feel that the artistic handles and polished look of the Frenchie are a cut above anything else on the market, at any price. The MCP's two toned look is also nice, but side by side they look cheap compared to the French line.
Sounds like the French Classic is the one to get, right?Maybe. The problem with this line is the lack of selection in it.They just don't have many different types of pans in it.They only have one medium sized sauce pan, and it's only two quarts, for example. Where's the 3 and 4 quart sauce pans that are available in the MCP line? They do have a nice 4.5 quart Dutch Oven in the set that you can't get in the MCP.Beyond that, the only other French choices you can get besides this large pan being reviewed is a 6 quart stock pot, a 12 inch skillet, and non-stick versions of the open skillets.I read that this line hasn't been out for a year yet, so maybe more items will become available soon.
Here's what I think I'm going to do...I think I'll use another 20 percent off coupon at BBandB, which will bring the price of the French set down to $240.I'll keep my large 3 and 4 quart Circulon sauce pans for the few times I need one, and wait to see if a large sauce pan comes available in the French line, or maybe I'll stumble across one I like in open stock of another line, maybe even the Cuisinart MCP194-20 MultiClad Pro Stainless-Steel 4-Quart Saucepan with Cover. The deciding factor? They just seem better made. Made in France, not made in China like the MCP line and most other low to mid priced brands out there on the market.Received my Cuisinart French Classic 5.5Qt Saute Pan today, and it seems like a very nice product. However, the product appeared brand new in the package, but there were several burrs (appearing to be tooling marks) in the rim of the pan. They weren't a big deal, but when paying almost $100 for a single pan, I expect the final product to be flawless.Otherwise, the pan looks magnificentpolished stainless on the sides and matte on the cooking surface and the bottom.Very heavy and a nice handle.Just be careful when you receive the product and check it for manufacturing defects.Other than that, I have no doubt this product will provide years and years of faithful service. This is very high quality. They are quite thick, are great conductors of heat, and will hold up well. The exterior finish is gloss, and it will become scratched with time, but it's not on display, it's for cooking. The lip is not rolled, and it may be a bit difficult to pour sauce. That's not a bad thing, just a note. It's much easier to clean with a plain edge anyhow.
This pan is easy to clean, and looks great! I will be buying more in the future!!
Received it very quickly also.We chose this pan for a few reasons, one was that it was stainless steel, but what was really nice was the fact that it was advertised as being light weight. My wife and I have wanted to get a pan or dutch oven that could be put in the oven to cook or use on the stove, but dutch ovens are so heavy. So we got this to do our stir frys or whatever else where having deep sides would be a good benefit.
It works great and we use it frequently. The construction is good too and YES it is NOT made in China!!!! It's made in France!! The handle does not get hot and the extra grip on the side is really helpful.
It's a great piece and worth the price. We expect to keep this cookware for many many years over.
