I purchased this for my Mom for her birthday and she loves it.It's a nice size as well as nice quality.
UPDATE:
I purchased this grill for my Mom for her birthday and she was pleased with how big it was so I decided to also purchase one for myself from Cuccinabella. THAT was a BIG mistake purchasing from them! My grill looked new but the thermostat plug obviously wasn't new! The box for the thermostat had oil on both ends AND the unit had a ding in it where you adjust the temp, not to mention the plug-in part was all discolored from being used. Upon receiving and opening the box I was very upset and contacted seller as well as Amazon to report this and requested a full refund as well as them to pay for the return shipping costs.
The company wrote me back the next day stating "I am sorry to hear that. We normally ask for pictures of the item to see who was in charged of packing it the condition but we trust you are being honest so I just went ahead and issue your refund you should see it back to your card that you used to pay for the grill in 1 day. As far as the grill as a token for our mistake we will let you keep it. Again sorry for the inconvenience, we noticed that you bought another grill from us before so we wouldnt want to lose you as a customer for this mistake. Please keep the grill as a token for our mistake".
I thought that was an honest attempt from the company to right a wrong. That was until the seller got caught trying to deceive me on only paying me $35 and not the TAXES and SHIPPING/HANDLING fees associated with the purchase. Total purchase cost of item, taxes, and s/h came to $51.89. Since they had to refund me yesterday for the full amount, I received a UPS mailer from them this morning now wanting the item returned. I just want to make others aware of the bad business practices, order at your own risk!

Cuisinart 55-11 Advantage Non-Stick 11-Piece Cookware Set
We got this set of Cuisinart pans as a holiday gift more than 6 years ago, and they've proven to be quite the "warhorse" of cookware!
I'm not a chef by any means, but we do cook at home 4-5 times a week.I've avoided (mostly) using metal utensils; the sauce pans get used almost every day; the large skillet gets used the most.
They are finally starting to show a little wear and tear, but other than the large skillet no longer being truly non-stick, they are still working just fine.
Not sure about other reviews in the negatory; I think this is a lovely set for the money.

Oster SH12 12-Inch Skillet with Hinged Lid, Black
So far I have made pancakes and scrambled eggs in my new skillet and I love it!The non-stick coating allowed items to come off the pan easily and it was a breeze to clean.I also love the glass lid, so I can see the food without having to lift the lid.On the warm setting I was able to keep the eggs ready to eat and warm when breakfast was slightly delayed. There are no vent holes, but this was not a huge deal to me.
If you would like a good, all-around electric skilletthis one is a good price of good quality.
I would definitely recommend.I have to change my review on this product. The design was delightful, but sadly, the lack of quality betrayed the design.
One drawback is that the heating element (as you can see on the bottom of the pan) is one circle around the outside of the pan. You definitely have to stir to make sure the contents cook evenly. But the thermostat shuts off when it reaches the desired temperature, then turns on again when the temp drops.
Worst of all is a problem I see reflected in other reviews here -the thermostat just breaks, early into the product's life. I wondered why I could never take it beyond the "warming" part of the dial -never even into the numbered part. Effectively, it had only one heat setting -High. The thermostat just didn't work, didn't regulate, and everything would boil, with the dial set on "warm".
It got so bad, that the coating on the pan started to boil and bubble, and pieces of the Teflon (or whatever) actually came off into my food!
I loved the design, and it worked great the first couple of times I used it. But then it was useless, and even dangerous, because of bubbling off the nonstick coating into my food.

I bought this pan for my elderly Mother who for reasons related to her personal health and saftety, can no longer use the oven. She had used her former electric skillet for over 30 years and it really needed replacing.
She is delighed with this pan and finds she can prepare steaks, chops, bacon and eggs and french toast all with equal ease.
The cooking is even and the temperature is "true".
The non-stick interior is an added bonus and an improvement over her former electric skillet which is no longer manufactured.

I only had this for a couple months.I had the same problem reported earlier with the short cord, but it didn't bother me too much.I did like the skillet at first. What does bother me is that the skillet is already shot. The nonstick surface is very thin and chipped, even with plastic utensils. The food started burning on any temp. Then the skillet got so hot that the nonstick surface burned and bubbled in a perfect circle over the heating element.I guess the thermostat went out.The skillet wasn't expensive, and I expected to have to replace it in the future, but these problems are beyond normal wear.Want Oster SH12 12-Inch Skillet with Hinged Lid, Black Discount?
I am really pleased with this purchase. Have never owned an electric skillet before and am amazed at how easy it is to use and clean. Well...almost.Emeril by All-Clad E919S264 Hard Anodized Nonstick Scratch Resistant 8-Inch and 12-Inch Fry Pan / S
No offense, but if you want a high quality pan that lasts, you should probably steer clear of any that are promoted by the chef de jour.I like Emeril, and his pans are okay, but compared to other cookware, they come up wanting.
I recently aquired anAnolon 10-Piece Cookware Set and have been very impressed with their craftsmanship and performance. Yes, the two fry pans from Emeril cost less and it shows in the end product. The pans are lighter and "feel" cheaper, and the thin handles heat up rather easily making it harder to work with. I've only used them for a month so I can't attest to their longevity, but they've held up well so far. Eggs and pancakes are easy to make in them and they clean up fairly easily.
If you want an inexpensive, decent set of frying pans that won't be used too often, then I think this set is a good fit. If you cook all the time and want pans that you can depend on over time, you may want to browse something in a higher price bracket.
I bought both the 8" and 10" pans and I wish I hadn't wasted the money.I've had them for less than a month and have never put them in the dishwasher and I've only used plastic or wooden spoons while cooking in them.Already the coating is scratched and is rubbing off. It's actually peeling off in some spots too.I know there's a lifetime warranty on these but come on, do you think they're really going to side with the consumer on this? They're just going to say that you weren't careful and too bad.I'm not going to go through the hassle of shipping them back just to have them tell that which is not true.Chalk it up to a waste of money. You're paying only for the name and not quality.Do yourself a favor and avoid these.
Beware. This is a lightweight thin handle (not sure about the pan itself) cheaper version of what is sold in retail stores such as Macy's under exactly the same description. BANG ! Shame on Emeril.
1212823 Crepe Pan with Spreader and Spatula%2C 11%22 %2D Black Matte
Only a copper crepe pan is arguably better.A thick copper crepe pan (e.g. Mauviel) will not only hold heat like cast iron, but because it is more conductive, it will transfer heat throughout the pan surface more quickly than will iron.As a result the pan heats more rapidly and regains any lost heat more rapidly as well. The only downside to copper is that any peaks in heat will be transmitted to the food pretty rapidly. If that happens, pull the pan off the heat source for a few moments until the pan temperature drops a bit.
The Staub cast iron pan comes with the traditional, wooden crepe spreader for distributing the batter evenly. For a pan of this nature and, I believe, in general, the spreader allows a quicker and much more even and thorough distribution of batter then the "tilt and swirl" method.Just watch a couple of videos on youtube showing Paris street vendors using the spreader to see the proper technique if you do not know how.You can master it in two minutes, but it consists of spreading the batter in a sweeping motion by rotating the wooden spreader from the center of the pan like the second hand of a watch. One end of the spreader stays largely stationary at the center of the pan, while the other end rotates around the circumference of the pan.You can then drag the spreader across the crepe once or twice very quickly if you need to strike it off a bit.
The first time I ever made crepes and galettes, I did so perfectly using this pan and the included wooden spreader.I wondered why so many people struggle making crepes the first time.If you let the batter set up properly for at least an hour to allow the flour to absorb the water, get this pan to the correct medium-heat temperature and spread the batter in a sweeping motion with the wooden spreader from the center of the pan like the second hand of a watch, you should be able to make a perfect crepe as well.
The first and possibly the second crepe off the pan will typically be lacking and are thrown away, so don't judge your efforts by the first one or two. After that, the pan should have the oil evenly dispersed and be evenly heated, so your results will improve. My mother bought this pan for me about 10 years ago in France. I'd tried to use it a few times but always had better luck with the non-stick crepe pans. After problems with non-stick coatings peeling off despite careful use (no metal, no scrubbing), I decided to make a serious attempt to switch my crepe-making to this pan.
I started by cleaning it per Blackirondude's amazing Black Iron Blog oven cleaner and garbage bags for about a week followed by a really serious scrub with lots of soap and water. Then heated it slowly on the cooktop, increasing the temperature steadily until it was extremely hot. Gave it a quick swab with Crisco, then reduced the temperature and kept wiping off Crisco until it was cool and had a uniform coat. (Yes, it smokes up the kitchen.) Did this about four times over a week or two and ended up with a gorgeous black (non-stick) finish on the pan.
When I use this pan, I follow the Dude's recommendation of always heating the pan first, then adding a little butter or oil and starting to cook. It works beautifully no sticking, no throw-aways at the beginning, just great galettes and crepes. Clean up when the pan has cooled hot water, soft brush or maybe a little soap on a sponge if the fillings leaked, hand dry, then back on a low flame burner for about 20 minutes to thoroughly dry. Follow up with a very light coating of oil for storage.
Wish it were slightly larger for the dinner-style galettes. Would love to find it in a 12"-14" cooking surface.

Our friends from France had a similar French-made crepe pan that they make their crepes with.I thought I'd try this pan, especially because Staub creates such excellent cookware. It is a beautiful addition to our kitchen. My only complaint is that it is heavy. If you like to swirl the crepe batter to create your crepes, this makes maneuvering the pan hard on the wrist. This crepe pan is meant to be left on the stove top while using the included wooden spreader for the batter--the manner people from Brittany say they grew up with.
We're going to get a second lighter weight crepe pan (for the tilt and swirl method) so that we can keep the crepes coming at home.
If anything, just looking at this pan brings back wonderful memories of a trip to France.

Why oh why did I wait so long to get this! I received my "griddle" on Thurs. evening and decided right then we were having pancakes for breakfast on Friday even though I had to hurry. They were fabulous just as I suspected. Staub should really be officially considered no stick cookware! My oil spread evenly and STAYED where put it, I never had to adjust the temperature after warming the pan to the correct heat and even the FIRST batch was PERFECT! This pan is HEAVY, but I love it so much it's worth every penny I paid. Can't wait to try crepes! It's also a gorgeous piece too!Lodge Logic L5P3 Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Muffin/Cornbread Pan
As for quality, it's from Lodge and it's cast iron. It's superior.
The only disappointment I had was that I was expecting a full sized muffin though they did accurately give the measurements I just didn't check.....I agree with the earlier review...bigger than a mini, smaller than a regular. One bonus is that it fits well in a toaster oven and bakes in less than half the time on convection mode.

That's what we got it forand it works great.
The thick cast iron does a great job keeping your pre-heated fat/oil smoking hot while you add your batter.
Our puddings seem to come out much poofier compared to when we used to use a cheap, thin walled muffin tin.

I ordered several pieces of cast iron cookware, so far this is the only piece i have received in the mail tho. I messed up 2 batches of cornbread muffins in 2 days with this muffin pan, then i finally got it right! Now i have the best muffins ever! So at first i tried baking the muffins with the factory seasoning, i put the muffin pan in the oven, turned it on to 400, let it warm up for 15 minutes, pulled it out of the oven, added a few squirts of olive oil(I have olive oil in a regular squirt bottle), and poured in the room temp. batter (I read pouring in cold batter may increase sticking). and the muffins stuck! Then i thought i noticed a little rust, so i scrubbed the whole pan with an SOS pad until the pan was its original dark gray color. Then I seasoned it, I coated the pan with vegetable oil and put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour, then let it cool then I tried baking muffins again and they still stuck! Then i finally found a great seasoning method: wipe the entire pan with a very very thin layer of vegetable oil, then heat in oven at 500 degrees for 2 hours, let cool and repeat this process 3-4 times(I did it 3 times). So i went to make my third batch of muffins, put the pan in the oven, turned on heat to 400, waited 25 minutes, pulled the pan out, squirted a decent amount of olive oil in the pan, the oil pooled in the bottom of each little section slightly, then i poured in the batter, and it made a splattering sound, 25 minutes later i pulled the pan out, turned it upside down and the muffins dropped right out!!! I was so proud!!! Oh and by the way, this thing makes muffins that are plenty big if u fill up each muffin section about 3/4 to all the way full of batter. On the other hand it will make mini muffins if u fill it up half way full of batter. With my cornbread recipe at least.Want Lodge Logic L5P3 Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Muffin/Cornbread Pan Discount?
I bought one of these to try out (I've been cooking more with cast iron cookware Lodge Logic.)After making a half-recipe of blueberry muffins, I went ahead and ordered a second one so I'd be able to make a dozen at a time. You need to heat the pan along with the oven, but it makes a muffin with a better-textured outer surface than the regular muffin pans I had been using. The size of the muffins is a bit smaller than in my other (non-stick) pans, but I put the whole recipe for a dozen in two pans, which makes for a taller top on the muffin. My wife loves 'em (so do I.)The muffins also come out easily I wasn't sure if it would be a challenge removing them from the pan, but it is very easy to remove them.Overall, a great product. If you like baking muffins, try this pan it beats the heck out of regular muffin pans.
Paderno Heavy Duty Carbon Steel Frying Pans
I am a big fan of these carbon steel pans. They season much the same as cast iron pans and need to be taken care of in the same manner as cast iron.Once they are nicely seasoned they are virtualy non-stick.They distribute heat very rapidly and evenly and work well on any burner surface from gas to induction glass top. They are perfect for sticking into the oven or running something under the broiler. The big advantage over cast iron is the long handle that makes them much easier to lift and handle, these pans are heavy, and the shape with the rounded sides.
If you screw up the seasoning by burning something, simply run the pan through a cycle of a self cleaning oven. All the accumulated grease and crud will come off, rinse off and carefully dry.The pan will be as new and will need to be re-seasoned much as a brand new pan. With a minum of care these pans last a lifetime.
Do not confuse these pans with much less expensive and much lighter weight French style steel pans. Those heat unevenly and get hot spots.

I've been around enough chefs in my life to know that "carbon steel" equals "Hardcore" in the kitchen, from pans to knives, etc. But it was only recently that I decided to go Hardcore in the pan department, having been a bit intimated by the seasoning and maintenance responsibilities. Not sure why, since I've had my trusty cast iron pans for years, and the commitment is pretty much the same. The Paderno 12.5" has become an almost mystical object in our kitchen. It really seems to have a certain magical property with proteins in particular. Seared at high heat, and then thrown into the oven, steaks, burgers, pork tenderloin, salmon, etc. come out just amazing. This pan also seems to have a particular affinity for eggs, and makes truly profound omelets. This size is quite large and hefty, and I plan on adding a smaller size or two, but it serves well for dinner for two, with ample room for dinner for four. As for the anxiety over seasoning and maintenance, it was all for naught. Wash it, dry it, rub it with oil, and give it some time in the oven. Don't cook anything particularly liquid or acidic in it right away, reserving it for animal proteins / fats during it's initiation. It soon develops a miraculous non-stick, easy clean surface that will have you suspecting some sort of witchcraft. Beats the pants off *non-stick* environmentally unfriendly coatings. It's also very responsive to temperature / burner change settings, allowing for very fine heat control ( I speak only for gas stoves). You can easily pay the same price for a crap non-stick pan that is destined for the land fill after a year or two of duty, Why not treat yourself to a genuine quality item, that will last virtually forever, and make you feel all Chef-like and stuff?a

This pan is very heavy duty.I bought the 12.5 inch pan.I bought it because we are getting rid of our teflon nonstick pans for good.I considered cast iron, but I did not like the rough surface the new ones have and the weight.Carbon steel pans season just like cast iron, but are extremely smooth and not as heavy. Ironically the cast iron pans our grandmother's used (Griswald especially) were lighter in weight and were very smooth, similar to this carbon steel pan.I like heavy cast iron pans, but anything over 12 inches is way too heavy especially once the pan is full of food. Tip on seasoning. wash pan well with soap and water and dry well. over high heat, heat pan until it darkens (you will have to move pan around some to get the corners and sides).Cool to medium low.Cut a potato in half and rub the cut side all around (it might smoke some).Potato starch acts like a glue which helps hold the layer of oil on the pan.If you did not do this, the layer of oil will begin to flake with repeated use. Some people will fry bacon or other food stuff, then scrape it clean and season it.Then rub a very thin film of oil in pan (I use flaxseed oil that you get at healthfood stores. And I mean thin, pretty much wipe it all out.I prefer flaxseed oil because it polymerizes extremely well) and heat for 30-40 minutes and cool.VERY IMPORTANT use a flat metal spatula and scrape the pan (not too hard, but how you would flip food in normal use. Repeat the potato rub and then the oil rub and spatula scraping to smooth the surface (high heat is not required at this point).now it is ready to useIt will look uneven for awhile, but with repeated use and repeated seasoning, it will turn jet black and have a dullish shiny surface. To clean, most things will simply wipe clean. If some food sticks, I salt the pan and use the salt as abrasive, then wipe clean.Don't be afraid to quickly use soap and water if things stick really bad, just dry it out and wipe a thin film of oil.Keep using the metal spatula!!!!!!!

These are really nicely built pans. I got the 12.5 and the 7.25 and both are great. I will say however that the 12.5 is really big and the 7.25 is about the size of one cracked egg in the bottom. If I were to do this order again I would get the next size up and down from these sizes for more average sized pans. This has nothing to do with the quality of the item. It is a very good pan.
Bella Flame 4-piece Cookware Set, 12" and 9.5" Green Ceramic Coated Nonstick Fry Pans w/ Glass Lids
Heavy substantial handles and lids.
Would highly recommend!I don't seek 'green' products, but this one works as advertised! You can fry and egg with no butter or oil and it just slides around in the pan after the white is set. My second time purchasing, so if you are looking at these being your only set of non-stick pans, forget about it. They last a couple years. Read the instructions, they last MUCH longer if you don't take them from frying mode to the faucet! The quick 'cool down' of that step shortens their life.
Revere 4-Cup Stainless Steel Bottom Easy Fill Tea Kettle
One year later, the replacement broke and now I am on my third replacement which broke about a month after receiving that.Apparently there is some issue with the metal used for the spring. It cannot take the heat of boiling water for tea. How can you have a tea kettle that can't take the heat! I was really careful when heating water in this third kettle thinking if I heated it on a lower heat, it would be fine. The spring broke anyway. While customer service has been really good, I would not recommend this product and will be shopping for another brand.Revere does not have the quality it used to.

OXO Good Grips Splatter Screen with Folding Handle
Given that I focus on Italian food, we have more than our share of fried food.Whenever you are making cannoli, fritto misto or spingi the grease is splattering everywhere. There is nothing I hate more than cleaning the kitchen after frying something.
This splatter screen has very small holes on a perforated surface. The holes allow steam to escape and contain most, but not all, of the splattering grease. They also keep you from looking into the pan while the food is frying.Given that you have to lift the screen to see inside the pan, there is a little grease to clean up after using this screen. The clean up is easier than with a traditional splatter screen.
I also like that the handle folds up on this screen making it easier to store.Overall, I would recommend this product. You have to be careful when you lift it off the pan that you keep it horizontal because if you raise it to a vertical position, it will double back and you will risk getting hot grease, or hot water/steam on you.
As far as the amount of splatter control, I don't find that it is a lot better than normal splatter screens.I have to lay a paper towel over the top while frying as there still is too much splatter.
I find that the fitting on top of pans is about somewhat better than a regular splatter screen, but not as good as I was expecting.
I bought a new dishwasher that the racks are adjustable, but it still will only fit in one place in my dishwasher or it will flop around.

I've purchased this item about 3 months ago, and I love it. When I first got it in I was a bit suprised and upset. Because the screen was metal and not mesh. But the first time I used this and had to clean it. I realized that the metal was much better then the mesh. Its so much easier to clean then mesh. You don't have to worry about little pieces of things getting stuck in the holes and you pick at the mesh to get it out. An then the mesh is messed up because you picked at it and then the mesh becomes misshaped. All in all this is a really good product. I like it so much, I buying a few for Christmas presents for family.

Wow, this is a vast improvement over the ordinary splatter screens you can get anywhere. First of all, it's not made of the standard screening like in window screens. It's made of a sheet of perforated stainless steel like a perforated pizza pan but with smaller holes. Sooo much easier to clean and you don't have to be careful not to poke a hole in it or dent it when cleaning and storing it. It also has 3 circular "ribs" in it that allow it to sit securely on different size skillets and pans. No more slipping off the skillet. And the sturdy, folding handle is so clever. You can really wash this in the dishwasher because it's so sturdy and with the handle folded down, it fits!!! In my opinion, this is definitely worth the extra money and you probably won't ever have to replace it.

The Circulon Contempo stainless steel nonstick cookware set, oven safe to 400°, is suitable for solid plate, ceramic, gas, radiant ring, halogen, glass and induction cooking surfaces. This 10-piece cookware set, made in China, comes with 8.5"/21.5 CM and 10"/25.4 CM sauté pans, 1/0.9 and 2/1.9 Qt/L covered saucepans, a 3 Qt/2.8 L covered sautoir (straight sided sauté pan), and an 8 Qt/7.6L covered stockpot.Even though there isnt a lid for the 10" sauté pan, either the stockpot or covered sautoir lid can be used. The polished stainless steel exterior encapsulates an aluminum base for superior heat distribution, and uses basic professional construction with comfortable silicone covered stainless steel handles. The interior of each pot/pan includes a metal utensil safe hard anodized food release system with high low wave technology. Clear shatter resistant tempered glass lids boast decorative silicon and stainless steel handles and stainless steel rims.
Caring for this set is pretty simple.Avoid sliding the pans on the cook top, use a similarly sized burner, and use a low to medium heat setting.Store pans separated with paper towels to prevent scratching.Don't use nonstick sprays and keep use of oil to a minimum.Don't cut with sharp knives or poke with pointed items in the pans.Don't use oven cleaners; make a paste from baking soda and water to remove stains.
The Circulon Contempo stainless steel nonstick cookware set heats up quickly and evenly distributes heat, while the handles stay cool to the touch on the cook top.The TOTAL food release system consists of circular ridges on the bottom of the pans, and works remarkably well.Additionally, the polished stainless steel cookware set provides a guaranteed lifetime of performance and satisfaction.
The silicone covered long double riveted stainless steel handles provides a good grip and includes a fold out ring for hanging. The handle rings pop out freely, but are taught to prevent movement while cooking. The lid's decorative handles flare out at the sides and arc on the top. This looks nice, but their 2" height is higher than the lids from our copper core set. This really isn't a problem until placing a pot with this domed lid with 3/4" taller profile handles into the oven. This makes a big difference in oven rack placement and how much I can fit into our 27" wall ovens.
While the glass lids allow full view of the pot's contents, they fit loosely an easily shift on the pans allowing some steam to escape. The lid problem is largely caused by the pan's construction where the rim flares out so the pan's inner and outer components can be crimped together. The sauté pans are sharply curve upwards making flipping food extremely difficult.Plus, the handles suck up water through an opening on the bottom side where attached to the pan while in the dishwasher.Later when the pan in resting on a flat surface, the water will leak out causing puddlng and leaving a removable water stain on the stainless steel surface. (See photo)Even though this set is dishwasher safe, you're practically better off washing them by hand.
I liked the polished metal look of these pans when I first unpacked the Circulon Contempo stainless steel cookware set.Features largely mirrors those of the hard anodized set, plus improved upon it by being dishwasher safe. After learning of the stainless steel cookware set's flaws, I dislike cooking with them. The attractive and more economically priced Circulon Contempo 10-piece hard anodized cookware set may not be shiny, but it's by far the better cookware set between the two.If you're looking for a hassle free quality stainless steel nonstick cookware set, this set isn't it.

()As a professional chef I often get asked and often ask myself to demo a variety of cookware for my cooking programs and culinary classes. It was a joy to see this set hit the Amazon-vine program and I looked forward to opening my box of pans the moment they hit the front porch.
First let me say they were packaged quite well and the lids fit perfectly onto the handles to allow each pan to be placed on my pot rack.In the package were a 1-quart covered saucepan, 2-quart covered saucepan, 8-quart covered stockpot, 8.5-inch french skillet and a 10-inch french skillet
This set is a great set for the average kitchen and I have enjoyed using them for a variety of tasks from omelets, stir fry's, cooking pasta all utilizing metal utensils. The coating is very durable and will take up 400 degrees in the oven without flaking off or melting the handles. The lids go well with the pans and many reviews commented that the handles are too big. I'm used to storing pans and lids aside from each other but they both work well together if you want to hang them up.
I really like the exterior finish and it's very easy to clean and maintain and has stood up to the dishwasher and scrubbing by hand.As for the interior you can burn marinara sauce, scorch milk and overcook mac and cheese till it turns black and each will simply drop out of the pan and wipe clean with little effort.
I will say that high heat cooking is out if you are not adding in a liquid or some sort of fat.You will need to get a traditional pan without a non stick coating to get a good sear, unless the pans specifically state they are non stick and made to sear, such as those from Calaphalon.
As for the price you really can't do any better for a complete set such as this. You get a great set of high quality cookware that will give you loads of versatility in the kitchen. Will this cookware set do everything if you are looking for a do it all professional set, no.Will this cookware set give the average to budding professional chef the option to get creative and have fun in the kitchen, yes.
Enjoy the set of cookware, you will not be disappointed.

()These are great. Very tough. Induction compatible. Metal utensil safe (thought I wouldn't do that), and dishwasher safe. The base is very thick and I've never better cookware for heat distribution. I was worried that the handles on the lids weren't very big and that my hand would touch the metal parts. It turns out the metal bit that connects the handle to the lid doesn't get hot at all so it's no concern at all.
I have the circulon hard anodized symmetry set as well (Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set, 11-Piece) and that is great as well. I was very curious what the difference was and why this set is cheaper:
1. These have thinner side walls. It makes no difference at all. I have pots that cost more than this set with thin walls.
2. The walls go straight up and down. The other ones were fluted to help pour without spalshing. Both sets perform admirably and honestly the is no difference performance wise.
3. The long handles on these are better, I think, because they don't collect water in the dishwasher.
Both had very nice thick bases and are really amazing. If you want to save money and don't mind the looks of this set then get this. No performance is sacrificed. The other set looks nicer however (bigger handles) and I can see why it costs a little more. Both are really really good and I'd say a good value for the quality you get.
EDIT (Sept 2012)
I don't like these as much anymore since the pots with the long handles retain water in them from the dishwasher. The water gets in where the handle attaches to the pot/pan. And when you turn the pot right side up, water slowly dribbles out for a long time. It doesn't dry in there well and the handle starts conducting heat when being used.

()Good cookware is hard to find at least at a reasonable price! The 10-piece Circulon Contempo Stainless Steel Nonstick Cookware Set seems to take care of both these requirements at once it is exceptionally good cookware and it is reasonably priced.
The set includes just about every piece you'll need for the average kitchen. There's a big 8-quart stock pot, an 8.5" French skillet, a 10" French skillet, oneand two-quart sauce pans and a three-quart covered saute pan. The lids are unique and have both a plus and a minus to mention. The plus is that the handles are very tall. They keep your hands away from the heat and splatter and they look very cool. The minus is that the handles are very tall. I know, the same feature is both a plus and a minus. The minus part is that if you need to stack the lids in such a way as to conserve space, you'll be disappointed. These handle do take up more space than conventional lids. If you have sufficient space, you will love the design, however.
This cookware set is heavy duty, made to last many years with proper care. The Circulon Contempo also uses the TOTAL Food Release System with Autograph, which is a 3-layer nonstick system from DuPont. This system enables you to use metal utensils with the nonstick surface without scratching the surface.

My wife and I really like the set. We were really impressed with the non stick surface. She burned something in on of the pans and it cleaned up with little to no effort.BergHOFF Earthchef 8-Inch Montane Frying Pan
I love this pan! The surface is so nonstick you really do not need any oil or grease. the food just slides around the pan. You can literally clean it out afterward with a paper towel. Can also use metal utensils and no scratches! I recommend this size and a 10 inch for every day. this model Montane is well designed. the handle stays cool enough to be able to pick it up without a mitt.I finally found a pan I'm happy with for cooking my morning eggs.I am very conscious of the chemicals which are going to come in contact with my famlies food. These pans met my standards for being safe and green...
I previously tried orgreenic pans which were horribly disappointing. After just a few uses everything stuck to the pan unless you were using heavy oil (and I seasoned the pans every few uses).
This pan is great. No seasoning needed, the eggs slide right out.Clean up is a breeze sometimes I even just wipe it with a paper towel.Very much worth the price tag and I'll be buying a bigger one soon.

Got this pan for my induction burner. Yes the base is 7inches but to me that was even better as my induction plate circumference is 7inches. Its teflon coating is great! Handle is well built and it is very strong. Yes, I agree with a previous reviewer who commented why this pan (8inch) has to cost twice as the 7inch. I wish it was cheaper and that Berghoff included a lid. Otherwise it is a professional level pan no doubt about that! You would think after getting it wrong the first time I'd stop, but getting the same results with the second one tells me this product does not work. The temp control never raised the temperature high enough for frying. I could have returned it but it was too big a hassle but I did write the company to let them know. I did not have high expectations at the outset and should have known that the price was too low for the quality I expected. Problem is that few people carry items designed for small households and shopping on the internet is a crap shoot.Read Best Reviews of Brentwood 6" Non-Stick Electric Skillet Model SK-45 Here
Have prepared for long-term use many types of non-stick products. Don't remember any giving up so soon. Used this little, otherwise practical, handy and pleasant pan for frying a cutup slice of spam and then adding eggs ovaeasy mix. The third morning, the egg began sticking to the pan, and it takes awhile for my nylon spatula to gently scrape of the baked-on residue. Not at allwhat one would expect, but still in use.Want Brentwood 6" Non-Stick Electric Skillet Model SK-45 Discount?
For the price its a ok product, I needed the size to use for a non-food item, (not a lot of options out there in this size) however its very thin and elements on bottom get hot, so I place a thick piece of tile underneath. and never leave pluged in and walk away. For my purpose it works fine, but need to be attentive while using it for safetyCoastal Cocktails "The Original Round Brownie Skillet"

While the skillet is very cute and can be reused over and over, the batter that comes with it is really, really, REALLY gross!! Even though it's SUPPOSED to be chocolate, it doesn't have any chocolate flavor at all--it doesn't even smell like chocolate, rather it has a bizarre chemical smell. If you buy this, buy it for the skillet only, but do yourself a favor and toss the included brownie mix.Read Best Reviews of Coastal Cocktails "The Original Round Brownie Skillet" Here
This would actually be a 5 star product if I liked the mix better but once you make the mix you can make your own.
These are a great size for using those packages of muffins that make 6, we have two pans, so it works well for us without a lot of dough left over. You can also use the premade cookie mixes and bake a cookie in them. My husband received the chocolate chip cookie pan, which is identical except for the included mix.
Our daughter purchased these for us for Christmas, and once the original mix was gone (not as tasty as some), we still had the pan that keeps on giving! I especially like having two of this size.
Because they are so small, I haven't tried them on top of the stove, but they are a good size for an omelet as well. They are too shallow for scrambled eggs, would likely spill over the sides.
Just be sure to season the pan well, and with all cast iron, don't put these in the dishwasher so they can develop seasoning. And since they ARE so small, make sure you have something under them to prevent your oven from getting messy.
Another choice (without the mix) is to buy the pan alone ... Lodge Logic 3.5-Inch Miniature Skillet or Lodge Logic L5MS3 5 Inch Miniature Skillet.
