T-fal Specialty Nonstick One Egg Wonder Pan
I usually use high quality pots and pans, some of which are very expensive. However, I bought this little guy because there are times that all I need is something this size.I got it mostly for one-egg omelettes but I can also see using it for a quick sauce or to warm up a small side dish.
The quality is about what I expected for the price and as little as I'll probably use it I'm sure that it will last for quite a while.I would rate it 4.5 stars but since we don't have half stars on Amazon I will give it 4.I hope that you enjoy my quick little video.
Love this little T-Fal baby! I make bagel or bun sized eggs without folding endlessly to make the ingredients fit on the bun. Perfect for a side of sautéed mushrooms, onions or anything you want to do on a small scale. It fits a perfect serving size for one person (or two eating light). I pushed the envelope and put two large eggs in it and it performed OK, however cooks better with one egg if you're putting extras in the pan with it. One swipe of a paper towel and it's ready for the next mini cooking task. This little thing has made my life so much easier because I'm not a confessed hand pan washer except for the ones I HAVE TO this one I do because it's so easy. No more big pans sitting in the sink and no more lazy lunches! I work at home and can fry up tofu for a salad, eggs for my hubby, onions for burgers, garlic for sauces . . . sometimes we just don't need a big pan to do those big flavor items! I'm ordering three more for gifts after using mine every day for a month. Love the non-stick too.

I like this one egg wonder pan very much. It's easy to clean and perfect for just the one egg. However, be aware that it measures 4/34 inches across the TOP and so the bottom is even smaller.I blieve the ad could have been a little more clearer about whether the measurement was across the top or the bottom, as many pans are measured across the bottom. Therefore, I was slightly disappointed, but just slightly. All in all, I like it.

This was not a need but a want. I am a gadget freak and I also like good quality kitchen appliances.Works very well...to make MY Egg M?Muffins. I wish it had a lid..but it does not and so I use a small plate to cover.
T-Fal...are you listening....how about a simple cover...with a simple handle... thanks:) This would give it 5 stars.

Nonstick and easy to clean but does scratch very easily.Real Porcelain or ceramic is like glass and would be extremely resistant to scratching.Made in China.UPDATE: After two months of use, this pan nonstick qualities are greatly diminished.I would not purchase again.

Well, if I didn't have to make this 20 words, I'd just say I LOVE IT! Non-toxic, easy to clean, even heat, retains heat, non-stick, pretty, lid is heavy weight with steam vent, what else can one ask? Can't think of one "con". I've had it for about 2 months, and have used it almost daily since.I absolutely love this pan!!It heats up quickly with lower heat than a normal frying pan.Nothing sticks to it and it cleans up easily with a paper towel. There is no more mess to go down the drain and clog your sink just throw the paper towel away and wash it.I have even cooked bacon in the pan and it came out very crispy.Even cheese doesn't stick to it.It is amazing and I have been cooking for over 35 years.Want Vinaroz Die Cast Aluminum with Ceramic Coating 28-Cm Fry Pan with Lid and Vent Discount?
I purchased this pan because it was large, heavy, and had a ceramic coating. The glass cover is well made and has an easy to grip knob. The fit and finish are excellent. The skillet handle is large and sturdy. In addition; it is deeper than the average skillet which in my case is definite plus. Clean up is easy and this skillet heats evenly. It is not quite as "stick free" as a teflon pan but the difference is minor. The ceramic coating should last indefinitely. After using this pan, I would never purchase another teflon pan.Magefesa Vitalia Alunimun Fry Pan

The surface may be better, but for the money I can live with the imperfection....Overall, a good product for the money.

this pan came"pre seasoned" the pre seasoning was so toxic smellingI would not use this pan until i had actually gotten got my drill with a sandpaper bit andground the covering off the entire pan and lid. When i first placed pan on stove it smelled likegasoline. Lodge preseasons its pans with olive oil apparently Heuck preseasons its pans with a petroleum based product or paint. As Iuse cast ironbecause I don't want the toxcicity ofteflon I foundthis appalling, i would rather use the teflon, at least that doesn't smell! The actualpan is nowhere near as smooth asthe Lodge pan ( for approximately the same price). The lidis not one piece but has thelittleknob screwed on the top. I fear the screw will melt if subjected to thehigh tempsthe rest of the panshould handle. The pan itself does not appear to be even some areas areclearly thinner than others. When I read the instructions for use it said to wash the pan in hot soapy water before use! Anyonewho uses cast iron knows that you never wash a cast iron pan with soap, unless you want to remove the finish.( washing it did not remove the finish, unfortunately). I would strongly advise against this product, Ifeel that the coating on the pan is not healthy,at the very least itwill ruin the flavor of any food cooked in it and willsend a retched smell througout your homewhen you firstuse it.buy lodge or or old mountainor something else..
Lodge Logic L12DCO3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Camp Dutch Oven, 8-Quart
QUALITY: There is a reason you can find old cast iron pans in antique stores, it lasts forever. I have quite a few pans and stuff inherited from family members and even some garage sale finds. I have found pans rusted and abused to where they would head for the trash bin if they were made of anything else, but you can bring cast iron back with some elbow grease and a re-seasoning or two. While my modern expensive non-stick cookware seems to last no more than a few years before replacement in my kitchen, but this stuff can easily last many decades of daily use. Lodge has a life time warranty! I love to cook with cast iron even at home, it is so durable, but I can take it camping too. Easy to clean up, the only drawback being it is heavy and hard on your wrists as you get older. Cast iron takes a bit longer to heat up, but the heat transfers very evenly without hot spots and it retains its heat for a long time. It can go from stovetop to oven with ease. Do not use it at temperatures higher than 500 degrees, as it can crack. I am not sure why, but people swear certain foods just taste better in cast iron.I believe that cast iron only improves with use and proper care instead of wearing out like other pans. As for Lodge, there really is a big difference in quality, their current pans are noticeably better than the other brands.
SEASONING FINISH:Seasoning of cast iron cookery does not refer to flavor, but the finish, a kind of glaze on the pan. I love old pans because they have the best seasoning, the older the better. I have inherited many old pans. The modern version sold here is "pre-seasoned" and ready to cook in, but we used to have to season these ourselves in the old days. It needs to stay black and a bit shiny inside to stay seasoned. If you do lose your seasoning due to rust or an overaggressive cleaning, simply wipe it with oil inside and out and place it in a hot oven for about 20 minutes or so. Let it cool in the oven slowly and naturally to room temperature again. It also helps to wipe it with a paper towel of oil after cleaning, or spray it with cooking oil and wipe. If it gets rusty, re-season it, you can get it like new again. DO NOT cook on it without re-seasoning though, as the food will stick. A note on what type of oil to use for seasoning, if you can do so use bacon grease, lard or butter, vegetable oil can sometimes get a little sticky in the pan and does not seem to get enough glaze as the animal based fats in my experience.
CLEANING: There is a debate on the cleaning of cast-iron that is as old as the pans, as to whether to use soap or not and how that affects sanitation. The Lodge company recommends cleaning without soap, but some people do so under certain circumstances. To clean without soap wash it with hot water or boil hot water in it and scrub it with a long handle brush or plastic scrubber, but never a metal scrubber as you can scratch the seasoning glaze. If you do use soap be sure it is very mild, maybe just dip your scrubber in the dishwater but don't immerse your pan in it. Immediately drying the pan is critical to its care either way, as soon as you clean the pan hand dry it with a paper towel and re-oil the pan immediately. For the most part, cast iron is non-stick as long as it is seasoned. If you use the pan on a fire, you can get soot on the exterior. An old Boy Scout trick to keep the exterior clean of soot if used on a campfire, is to treat the pan prior to cooking in the following manner. First wipe thepan (exterior only!) with some wet soap or a wet SOS pad, then let it dry before using it on the fire. Then when you are ready for washing, the soap has laid a protective layer over the exterior surface and the soot just wipes right off when you clean up with water.
ACCESSORIES: There are plenty of terrific Dutch oven and cast iron cook books here at Amazon.com. You can also get videos/DVD on Dutch Oven cooking like the one with Cee Dub. You can get affordable accessories too such as a Dutch oven tote bag, tongs, lid lifter, lid stand, and gloves. To be safe if cooking on coals or fire, use the lid lifter accessory, it will keep you from getting burned. I highly recommend this pan, and have decades of experience behind that statement, enjoy your cobbler!
If you're reading this, you probably already know about camp dutch ovens. I've been a Boy Scout my whole life, and a Scoutmaster and adult leader for several years now... (and an avid camper and outdoor cook to boot.) I have owned 5 or 6 dutch ovens in my life, and I'm now convinced that there is no match for the quality of LODGE dutch ovens. They are worth paying a little extra for. The others aren't really worth buying-the cheaper ones don't keep a finish like the LODGE ovens do.
I've bought the original finish and now this one with the LOGIC factory forged finish. I LOVE the pre-seasoned cookware. It isn't the finish that you'll get after years of seasoning, cooking and taking care of an oven, BUT you'll love that you will be able to cook on this oven RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. So, if you're into instant gratification (with no downside-they season perfectly as you use them) this is the oven choice for you.

In more than a decade of outdoor cooking experience, I have learned one valuable lesson: always trust anything from Lodge. This rule has been tested on everything from a simple skillet to the monster dutch ovens crafted to feed an army.In all those years, Lodge has never failed me.
I tried to save money by using cast iron utensils from other firms, and have paid dearly for it.No body has the durability, the skill, or the quality of Lodge. There is something magic about the Lodge method of manufacturing, and that magic is worth every penny that you pay for. When you purchase from Lodge, you aren't simply buying a pot or skillet, you're acquring a lifelong companion that your children will be using when you are gone.
I have 5 dutch ovens of various sizes, numerous skillets and griddles, and all of them bear the Lodge name and logo, and all of them still perform just like they did when I first got them, although they have improved with age because the taste and the smell of the food that comes from them says it all.
Trust me, friends: you can save money by buying another brand, but you will be making a grave mistake.Don't try to be cheap, buy Lodge and prepare yourself for a quality product that will last for a long, long time.

I wanted to try out campfire cooking so I did a little research and purchased this Lodge dutch oven.Let me first say that I have bought other Lodge cast iron products and they are the "Mercedes" of cast iron cookware. No shortcuts here, just beautiful, functional cast iron products that can be passed down to your children or grandchildren. On to the review...
The pot lid is very, very heavy. The pot itself is beautifully made. The instructions are clear (I recommend you follow them, they are correct). The iron handle is robust enough to take the pot off the fire filled hot food without giving you any concern.
The pot is "pre-seasoned" so all you have to do is give it a quick clean.I usually clean my cast iron products using hot water, a soft plastic brush and a little salt. Not much sticks anyway, but the salt works to give the brush a little "bite", plus I think the salt helps the seasoning a little.
The next step is to make a nice fire about 2 hours ahead of your cook time. The pot is NOT placed on the fire directly, but a few hot coals are dragged away from the fire for cooking.
I place the pot over about 10 hot coals on the botton, and about 20 hot coals on the lid.I turn the lid every 15 minutes or so and replace the coals with new ones about every 45 minutes.
Generally this method will cook a 4-5 pound chicken with a few potatoes, carrots and onions until it "falls off the bone" in about 3 hours.
It's really hard to describe how chicken tastes after being cooked over fire coals. It seems to keep the character flavor of the pot from meal to meal, and tastes ever so slightly smoky. It's very similar to cooking I've tasted in New Zealand where meat and vegetables are wrapped up on palm fronds, place over white hot stones, then buried for about four hours. It just has it's own unique flaor.
I've also cooked chile, leg of lamb and a number of other dishes. They've all been great.
A word of warning. Most people (including myself) can't believe that just a few coals below the pot, and double the number placed on top of the lid, can really cook the contents, but less is truly more in campfire cooking.
If too many coals are used, the food will taste strangely overcooked, but not burned. So best to exercise much restraint.
If you want to try campfire cooking and buy quality that can last for generations, then I say buy this quality pot and go out and cook!

We are very pleased with our Lodge Logic 8 quart camp dutch oven. It's true about the preseasoned readiness of the dutch. Straight out of the box, we rinsed it with hot water, applied a thin coat of cooking oil, and started cooking. The instruction/recipe book was most helpful to us,being first time owners. It listed the amount of charcoal needed for various cooking temperatures and sizes of the dutch ovens being used. We used one of our own recipes, stuffed meatballs. The food turned out great! We think it tasted better. We plan on buying a 10" and an 8" camp dutch to use with this 12" so we can try the stacking method of cooking. As a side note, we found the Weber chimney charcoal starter to work well, and at a price under 13 bucks at the HomeDepot. Also my husband came up with the idea of using leather welding gloves for safe handling of the charcoal chimney and the hot dutch. We found a pair at Sears for under 10 bucks. To use our dutch while camping we thought it best to use a metal container of some sort for a cooking table that is light weight and packable. We found the solution at a restaurant supply store, a huge 15"dia.aluminum cake pan with 2" sides. We also found 16" tongs at that store. This is a fun and tasty way of cooking outdoors.

i like it, big enough to cook for few people. The only thing i don't like about this pan is the handle. It is very hard to pick up this big pan with the wooden round handle. I have to use both hands (left hand to hold the handle and right hand to hold the opposite side of the handle) when picking it from the stove. Of course i use a pot holder on my right hand so that i don't burn my right hand.Read Best Reviews of Nordic Ware 5 Quart Large Stir Fry Pan Here
This is a replacement wok, an exact replacement! The other one went through the war and was terribly mistreated by a.....roomate, yea that's what we'll call the person.Serious it is an exact replacement of my Nordis 5 quart wok I had for 14 years. When I purchased it, the picture looked like it. I thought NO Nordic still didn't make the same wok after so many years? I pulled it out of the box and it was exactly the same. YES, I lost the nasty....roomate, yea that's what we'll call her and got my wok back. Hey, I can't get everything back(time, money) but I got my life back, my house and now my wok. It's the little things in life that counts.
It's a great wok, I cook everything in it. The teflon coating is GREAT if it could last through her burning of food, it can last anything. I'd seriously consider buying a second one.
It goes on the GOOD purchase list!It was a gift for my Dad. He wanted only this one. He still has not been able to try it out yet.
Vollrath Z4012 Wear-Ever Aluminum Fry Pan with CeramiGuard II Non-Stick Coating, 12-Inch
GRILL HERITAGE SILVERSTN
I use this as a "mitad" for making injera, the Ethiopian flatbread made from the nutritious grain t'ef, and it works very well. There is a nice lid for this available directly from Bethany Housewares for about twenty bucks. I'm sure any generic lightweight 16" lid would work just fine, but you'll need some sort of lid if you want to make injera. Several websites recommended the non-stick model for injera (over and against the aluminum) and having made injera several times now, I think that was good advice. (You make injera on very high heat, covered, until the bread starts curling away from the grill, so maybe under those conditions the surface doesn't really matter, but I like how easily the bread slides off the grill on the Silverstone, having no actual experience with the other model.)
I got my Bethany Housewares Heritage Grill with Teflon finish for making lefse. I've used it 5 or 6 times for that and it works great.
Better yet, it is the best grill I've ever had for frying eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes, or cooking just about anything else that's grilled. The non-stick finish means it's not necessary to use more than a light brush of oil to fry eggs, hash browns or other food that contain little grease of their own.
And the Teflon seems indestructible. My grill has been used almost daily for a year and a half, often by family members who are not as protective of the finish as I am, and it's still pristine.
Come to think of it, I'll have to take back the bit about me being the most careful one using my grill. Just the other day, I left it on with a turner on top--a turner that melted into a liquid plastic pool on the beautiful non-stick surface. But everything wiped right off once the hot plastic cooled enough for me to do the wiping. Did I mention the surface seems indestructible?
The only drawback, I suppose, is the late sixties look. That, I'm guessing, is because it's such a good product there's been no big push to change things up since the sixties. I think of it as stylishly retro and rejoice that this grill's consistency over the years means I can order replacement legs or a new probe control from Bethany Housewares if needed.
I could live without my electric fry pan or George Foreman type grill, but wouldn't want to live without my Heritage grill.

I got this grill last year (in 2008) and am very pleased with it. I have used it regularly and use it for making dosas, the Indian crepe. I can also cook 2 or 3 rotis on it at a time and it speeds up the process.
It heats up beautifully and maintains consistent temperatures. It is very easy to clean as the probe style electric wire comes off. I usually wash it by hand but my son threw it in the dishwasher once and we saw no adverse effect.
A good product, well made.
Update after 4 years You do get what you pay for is very true in this case. Really excellent quality that has held up well. Present this is the only non stick pan I own and still love it! Makes the largest dosa possible in a home environment. Additionally I have used it for making large quantities of patties/cutlets and pancakes at a time. Cleans well in the dishwasher if you take off the electric attachment/cord.
Caution make sure to dry thoroughly before using again

T-fal A8070962 Specialty Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 13.5-Inch Giant Family Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookwa
My family haqs been using Tfal for over 30 yrs, my got my mother one for mothersday in Germany back then. I love this one, just wish I could find a lid, so that I could do ALL my cooking in it. Truly non stick, makes perfect eggs pancakes steaks etcI ordered this because I was having company and we were having salmon steaks and I needed a pan big enough for eight med. steaks and my 9 and 10 inch pans would not work. This one sure did.And the T-Fal line has always been a favorite of mine.It even looks nice hanging up on my pot rack.Great pan at a great price!!!A decent nonstick pan. Been using it for about 5 months and have a couple of tiny marks where the coating flaked off after I way over-heated the pans, other than that it has worked great.
The size of the pan is absolutely awesome for stir fry and/or cooking large quantities. 13.5" gives you roughly double the square area as 10-inch pan (143 square inches vs. 78). The pan and handles have are also solid and have been very durable.I only use T-fal cooking ware it's the top of the line for non stick pans also t-fal will far out last most non stick surfaces hands down

I ordered two, and both came pre-dented. LOLAnyway, the lid is aluminum, so I expected it to be on the flimsy side.Although I think $5 would be a better price than the price I paid for.In any case, it gets the job done.I have a couple of 8" pan and a few 6" pots, and this lid works nicely with all of them. They're surprisingly easy to clean too; different than the aluminum I'm familiar with.

Sad that a made in USA item is so flimsy. Was delivered with minor dents and discolored when used to cover a frying pan containing sliced potatoes.Prior review that mentions not good for covering 12" pans is misleading. It barely covers a 10 1/4 (#8) Griswold CI frying pan.It does work but is smaller that the description indicates. Quite flimsy-don't sneeze within 6 feet of it or it will likely dent. Apparently made in USA so its conclusive proof China doesn't have a monopoly of tinny rubbish. This is a must-have for users of many skillets that lack lids (or for those who do not want to clutter up the kitchen with tons of glass lids).I agree with the reviewer who said it is flimsy (which is why I gave it four stars instead of five); mine had a teeny, tiny dent in it, but really no biggie. Not as good quality as the old one I have, but useful nonetheless, as I need one for home and one for the camper.DeLonghi BQ100 Indoor Grill and Smokeless Broiler
This is a great indoor grill!Bought for my hubby who loves to grill but not in the snow.I decided to get this model with the broiler. We rarely use the broiler, but probably because we haven't researched what all we can do with a broiler. We rarely broil anything anyway. The grill does not smoke at all, and he can get his grill lines he wants too. This does cook fast, sort of like a george foreman fast.I thought he may use this occassionally, but we use it all the time for everything during the winter.Burgers, Steak, Chicken, shrimp, veggies, and fish, etc.We always mist with Pam before to avoid sticking, as we do with our outdoor grill. As the wife, I worried it would be a pain to clean. Not at all.The grill lifts off easily and a quick rinse, suds under running water and voila clean! We store in the pantry and it is lighter than it looks. We can easily grab it and put onto our countertop for cooking.

This product shows how a previously well thought of product name can fall victim to the greed of quick profits. This unit worked for all of 1 hour. The temperature control went bad and refused to heat above the warm level.Contact with the company proved a waste of time. There are no parts available for the product.
Simply replacing the control unit would have solved the problem, a simple matter, but their only approach was for me to shoulder the expense of shipping the unit to them. The cost easily exceeding the value of the unit when added on top of the initial cost.
Looking closely at the unit, the cheapness of construction was evident.I would recommend finding another brand.
La Paella Carbon Steel Paella Pan
Like any thin pan, don't heat it up without anything it, or you'll make it lopsided. The plastic/rubber coating on the handles doesn't come off on the grill which is nice. A bigger pan would be a bit harder to hold on to as well. Make sure you order a good oven mitt.
Buy La Paella Carbon Steel Paella Pan Now
Bought this after getting tired of cooking paella in a stainless steel frying pan could never create the "socarrat" aka crusty layer of rice at the bottom, and this pan really allows you to do so. Researched different materials and this one seemed to be the most recommended. It's quite wide my first time using it I had leftover paella for days! So keep in mind that if you don't have large burners on your stove, you might be using two side-by-side to cook the paella. Because the pan spread across two burners on my stove, the key was to keep moving it so that no two spots became "hot spots" and to ensure the rice cooked evenly. I am hoping this is a pan I keep for years so far it's seemed perfect. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the instructions it came with said to simmer the pan with a dash of white vinegar before the first use to get the film/coating off the surface. I did so then washed and dried it, and it left the pan looking dull and slightly worn even though it was brand new. Not that it takes away from its functionality, it just won't look new and shiny any more.

This quickly became a favorite for our Sunday friends and family dinners, especially during the spring and summer months, when we can eat outdoors by the pool. The recipes are plentiful and adjustible to your families taste. I began with a 22 inch then bought the 14 inch, we always make both, the 22 inch "Paella de la Valencia" seafood and the 14 inch all meat, sausage and chicken for the non fish eaters.I would recommend that a purchase of the 14, 18, 22 or 36 pan would be best, Why those sizes you ask? Well, Weber kettle comes in those sizes, the pan fits right on top of the appropriate grill (you do need an airgap between the pan and lip of the grill or it will snuff your heat) and anyone can cook this amazing dish to your own taste, in a method as close to tradition as possible (without a fire on the ground) in your own backyard. Oh yea the red handle means HOT, someone else recommended good grill gloves and I second that. I use welding gloves, but I already had them. I also wrap the handle with a kitchen towel or washcloth while it is on the table to remind our guests that the handle is HOT also.
The only other things needed to make this dish properly is Spanish "Bomba" rice, saffron and a long (20"+ recommended)spatula. I have not seen these items cheaper than Amazon anywhere else I shop near home, you're gonna want to make this stuff pretty quick after you get your pan so may as well order it now.

I was VERY impressed with the excellent instructions that are provided in the book this comes with.I studied all their tips for an hour, and was amazed at the things I did NOT know, or had forgotten.Someone who never stirfried before could get first rate results by studying just a few pages.Little things are important I used to just turn it on, and throw in the oil and wait for it to get hot.WRONG!You are supposed to turn it on EMPTY, let it get VERY hot, and only then put in the oil.And I realized I had started to get lazy, and was not doing smaller batches of items at a time, which does end up with better results.
If I need to get things out of the pan, I just hold a big bowl or plastic container next to it, and slide stuff up the side and out or I just tip it up and dump it on a plate.Although it is good to know that once every few months I could actually take it apart for an old-fashioned cleaning, all you really need to do is wipe it out with a sponge. The non-stick surface is fantastic. The temperature dial is excellent, and it comes with the most heavy duty cord you ever saw!
Stir-fry is my teenaged son's favorite meal, and without a good wok, I hardly ever cooked it for him.Now when I tell him we're having stir-fry, he's thrilled.Remember this thing would be good for a lot more than just stirfry too.I was amazed that it could slow cook as well.I can make beef stew a one pot dish. Can't wait to try it out on tempura, which it will also be great for! There are also a lot of great recipes in the book.
I bought this wok based on the reviews posted here.I have to say that I agree that it gets really hot and I am amazed at how well it performs. That being said, I have noticed that the non-stick surface has a lot of surface scratches and I use a plastic spatula.Yesterday, I made Beef Lo Mein and the pan was just as great as beforehand. However, upon washing it up in the sink, I noticed that a piece of the non-stick had peeled off.My experience with that coating suggests that this will continue to occur as I use the appliance more often. This is very disappointing as this is the best performing wok that I have ever used.I'm crossing my fingers hoping that the non-stick won't continue to peel. That would certainly betray the overall performance of an otherwise excellent appliance

Solid, heavy gage construction cooks evenly.See-through lid is equally thick, which is good because it retains heat and doesn't cause steam condensation as as most others do.It appears non-stick coating will last -again, because heavier construction dissipates heat and won't sear the surface.Time will tell.
Would be great if base could be removed without turning over.Removing contents to a bowl for serving can be a trick.Removal for cleaning is good.
Size is smaller than Maxim? that I had previously. Not that the larger size is needed for large amounts (wok cooking tends to boil or steam large amounts instead of searing the food; rather, a larger size would make stirring easier.
Would have gotten 5 stars if larger and base were removable while cooking.

I bought this wok based on the great reviews, although I still had some trepidation about how well a non-stick, electric wok would perform. After using it for a while, I can say that my worries were baseless; this is a great wok.
The other reviews are spot-on.Some real thought went into this wok's design; it's well made and a pleasure to use.It gets super hot for searing the food, responds quickly to temperature changes, and cleanup is a snap.I've made some excellent Chinese dishese with this wok.
The only negative thing I have to say is that you can't easily lift and pour from this wok while cooking. For example, let's say you are deep frying some meat, and then need to pour off most of the oil and reserve a couple tablespoons for stir-frying.Although the wok detaches from the base, you need to manipulate a dial on the underside of the base in order to do so.Your other option is to lift the entire thing, including the base, but remember that the cord is plugged into the base. This kind of thing can be worked around, though, so I didn't think it was a big enough deal to dock a star.Just something to keep in mind. This electric wok is fantastic. Just disregard all you've heard about how electric woks don't match up. The Breville EW30XL is different and it rates 5 stars by many people for good reasons. This wok is extremely well made and should last a lifetime. It gets so hot on the highest setting, that it melted the end of a plastic wok turner I purchased to use with it (use good quality hardwood and toss quickly). It's non-stick coating is there to stay and because of it, you use less or even no oil (be sure to use appropriate oils). Peanut oil is a perfect choice. This is a high quality wok that you will enjoy for years to come.
