KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Brushed Stainless-Steel Nonstick 8-Inch Open Skillet

KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Brushed Stainless-Steel Nonstick 8-Inch Open SkilletThis is a good nonstick skillet and it's great that it's dishwasher safe. The only thing I would change is I'd make the skillet sides a little lower. When I slide eggs out, they tend to roll and flip. When I use my other skillets with lower sides, I don't have that problem.Overall, I am very satisfied with it.

I really appreciated reading other people's opinions on the KitchenAid cookware. I have been looking around for a while and was ready to up-date my kitchen utencils when I came across the KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Brushed Satinless Steel pots-n-pans. I liked what I read about the products and ordered the set along with the 8-inch Nonstick open skillet. My entire family is enjoying cooking with the items. I especially like the soft grip handles that do not get hot when you are cooking. My family and I look forward to many great years of cooking with the new KitchenAid pots-n-pans.

Lodge Logic LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle

Lodge Logic LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/GriddleI've got lots of cast iron, but this is my new favorite. Here are a few tips for other users. The griddle is perfectly flat and well-made, but it tips from corner to corner on my burners. It's an issue with the design of my burner grates, not the grill. If you have this problem, just fold up a little piece of foil and stick it under one of the edges that tips. Problem solved.

People often complain about foods spilling off a griddle. If that's happening, then you should cook that type of food in a skillet. Skillets and griddles each have their own purpose, The low profile edges on a griddle are suited to foods that stay put but take up a lot of surface area, like eggs, pancakes, steaks, vegetables. They made the low edge so it will be easy to get a spatula under those foods.Foods that produce lots of grease should not be cooked on a griddle, unless it's just a couple of strips of bacon. If you're trying to cook up lots of greasy food, use a skillet. They are designed to hold liquids, hence the tall sides. So, you guys who complain about grease running off your griddle when you cook a pound of bacon, stop complaining and get a skillet to hold liquids.

Yes, the center will be a little cooler than the ends. Don't worry. This is natural. Use it to your advantage. Put slower-cooking things in the center or add food to the center first so it starts cooking before the food on the ends. Just like on a charcoal grill, it can be helpful to have a "cool zone" (actually a not quite as scorching hot zone). Make sure you let it heat up evenly over low heat before turning it up to medium / medium high, this discourages sticking. Also, for you people moving from teflon, never turn or move food in an iron or steel pan until the food has browned. The food does indeed stick, but then releases from the surface on its own when it is browned. Wait for the food to release itself. Be patient. Also, make sure steaks, etc. have no water on them when you put it on the cooking surface. A little oil helps food release, water encourages sticking.

Clean it while it's hot before it can cool off, or food remnants will be harder to remove. Scrape it with a metal spatula. Then wipe it with a paper towel dipped in oil. Done. Also, clean up will be easier if you cook liquids and super greasy foods in a skillet, which is easier to wield (and clean in a sink) when hot. Don't want to leave your clean, hot griddle to cool on the stove? Use oven mitts to cary it to the oven.

This is a great product. I consider it an essential and helpful sidekick to a 12 inch cast iron skillet. It's ready to go right out of the box. Pancakes came out great and did not stick, even though I used almost no oil on the griddle. Works on the charcoal grill, too for small foods that would fall through the grates. Take it camping as an easy to set up grill. Use it in the oven as a cookie sheet. Great for small pizzas with crispy crust.

Great product. We took it on a week long camping trip and cooked fajitas, pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it on this little griddle. It fits perfect on a dual fual coleman camp stove and was a treat to use.One thing to note: since the camp stove has two different size burners one side gets much hotter than the other. If both burners on your stove have the same output then the griddle will heat evenly. No fault of the griddle, just be aware of what you are using it with.Love the product, considering buying another for our other stove.

Looked all over in stores for a griddle of this size (perfect for RV's or boat stoves)I use it on our boat for almost all my stove top cooking (burgers, eggs, pancakes, toasted sandwiches, etc.)Even though it is pre-seasoned, I have found spraying it with a little olive oil works especially well for eggs.

I always wanted one of these but this is my first cast iron item. There is not much to it but it's perfect. Grill side and smooth side, easy to clean (wipe off with a paper towel). I was a little concerned about how it would work on my glass electric cooktop but it works great!

Finding the Professional set again on Amazon was like winning a treasure hunt. I'm thinking I may buy a second set now to put away for later. They make newer ones that are good for the glass top stoves and such, but these are the real cooks perfect pans. Thank you Amazon!

Anolon Advanced Nonstick Fry Pan

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch SkilletI am a semi-professional chef, cooking a variety of gourmet meals at least 4 nights a week, so having the right kitchen pans is vitally important. I found this little Analon quite by accident, and now use it virtually every day for sauces, for single omelettes, and for anything that doesn't require a lot of volume/space. Non-stick works just as advertised, so you can't go wrong. I now own 3 of them, and they get used all the time.

I don't like non-stick.It's not as versatile as good 3-ply stainless steel and it doesn't last anywhere near as long. That said, I do like egg dishes and in the summer I like dishes w/ a lighter mouth-feel (not as much oil). So I set out for the best non-stick pan.

I got a 12-inch pan because I've had 10 inch and 8 inch pans in the past and they get crowded very easily. Secondly, I wanted a pan w/ a riveted handle and a decent high temp oven performance. Also, I believe the true mark of a nonstick pan is the 'flip' performance-so, NO HELPER HANDLE IS THE WAY TO GO! That's just my opinion. I eventually narrowed by search to 3 brands: Caphalon, All Clad, and Analon.Caphalon because they had some interesting non-stick options, All Clad because it's just the best, and Analon because I currently use their stainless set and for the last 2 years I've been very happy.

So All Clad was knocked out of contention quickly for the simple reason that ALL NON-STICK PANS DEGRADE over time. And from what I've read, their best non-stick pan will loose it's luster in about 2 years. That's not to say that I think the pan would be completely crap after 2 years-just that i think the degradation curve would start to accelerate into the replacement zone. So why pay $130-190 for a pan over two years when you could use 2 average non-stick pans at the same price over two years and have more 'quality' non-stick time to boot?

With All Clad out of the way I turned my attention to Caphalon. I still didn't want a 'cheap' pan though... just not ridiculously over-priced one (although I would love to replace my analon ss set w/ an all-clad one in about 5 more years-saving those pennies...).Caphalon has 'professional', 'commercial', 'contemporary', and 'one' series pans. Professional pan reviews peg it as a loser. 'One' series pans are just a bad idea all around... why would anyone want a pan that's permanently sorta-non-stick-but-not-really? 'Contemporary' pissed me off (yes I was actually offended) with it's strange 'bulge flare' near the rim-you really have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. So I considered the commercial series.

Anolon was my last consideration. I looked at their titanium series in the past, but ultimately went with the SS set (glad I did). I was very concerned about the silicon handles. Mainly because it's a limiter to broiling temps, but I gotta say I've been pleasantly surprised. They do add a very good handling feel to the cookware and the silicon hasn't discoloured or peeled or scraped off anywhere.I totally expected the silicon to wear out and it hasn't.Also, their metal ply is just as even and weighted as the all clad stuff.Same thickness, very similar shape, and from the durability I've experienced I'd be surprised if all-clad is really all that much better... but from the looks of it I would have to comment on that about 7 years into ownership. So I was definitely going to consider Anolon.

Went to the store, felt the surface of the commercial caphalon and it was ROUGH. I know it's commercial and they say you can use metal utensils, but something is just counter-intuitive about a 'rough' non-stick surface. It was priced at $50. Then I checked the Anolon Advanced pan. Nice and smooth. Also it had the same handle as my Anolon SS set and the capholon had one of those slightly loose, thick silicon handle... uhhh... condoms. Also the packaging on the commercial pan is sparse-consisting of a strip of cardboard w/ logo and writing and the sides of the pan exposed to the elements. When they ship them they're stacked on top of each other and the Anodized aluminum bottom from one pan constantly rubs the top rim of the pan below.I couldn't find a single pan out of the 8 on the racks, that didn't have scuffing around the rim from distributor shipping.Needless to say the Caphalon Commercial pan was OUT and the individually completely boxed, wrapped in plastic, suspended in a cardboard brace Anolon Advance pan won the day.

I was very curios about this Dupont Autograph 2 thing. Aparently the Non-stick is on the inside of the pan and seamlessly wraps over the edge and all the way down the outside until the very bottom of the pan where the Anodized Aluminum bottom makes contact w/ the burner. I don't know if it actually does anything functional, but it's VERY easy to clean. I guess maybe it keeps food from 'catching' around the rim when stirring vigorously or 'flipping' veggies in a sauté. So far the non-stick surface is PERFECT.About 20 seconds of soap, sponge, and hot water is all that is need to clean inside and out (thank you to the wrap-around nonstick surface). It has a very good weight so the heat distribution is great even around the sides.I've become accustomed to 'flipping' with my stainless pans so when I first tried it with this pan I accidentally sky-rocketed the veggies into the ventilation hood.As with temperature and handling with all new pans, it's good to keep in mind 'baby-steps'.

This 8" open skillet is heavier than the 'commercial' Calphalon 12" covered pan, 10" open crepe pan and 2 1/2 Qt covered sauce pan (made in China).(It would be nice if Amazon identified the country of origin of all its cookware.)The easy-grip handle is great.I have ordered 2 more as gifts.Every kitchen should have at least 2 of these!

My wife and I received the pans in this set for our wedding over 3 years ago. They have been excellent despite very heavy use from us.The non-stick still doesn't stick and there is almost no discoloration. They are very easy to clean because the entire pan is non-stick, not just the inside. The silicon on the handle does an excellent job of protecting your hand from being burnt even at high temperatures.

The only problem we've had is that on a few of the pans the silicon part of the handle came loose.I submitted a request to their customer service department on the web and had brand new pans within a week at no cost to me.

Kuhn Rikon 6-Piece Duromatic Duo Pressure Cooker Set

Kuhn Rikon 6-Piece Duromatic Duo Pressure Cooker SetWe tried so many pressure cookers over the years as Indian Cooking demands heavy use of pressure cooking for making lentil soups and curries. We even tried few models from India but none could last more than a few years. Either they have problems with safety valves, handles, or they would become loose too often that requires tightenening of handles. If they last well, they were too bulky and takes almost forever to open and close the lid. Most annoying of all, they all make crazy sound that scares both my kids.

Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers sure have expensive prices but once you see them and feel them, you will find every reason to agree that they are well worth the price. This particular 2 set model is so lovely that my wife decided to get rid of most of her cookware as they both compliment each other so well. They can be used for almost everything we cook for our daily needs. The lids are interchangeable. This makes it so convenient to pressure cook veggies and lentils and then continue to use it with glass lid to make the final curry without having to transfer the cooked veggies and lentils to another cookware to make the curry. You can cook meat much faster and tastier without having to marinate for long.

The small one is so convenient if you have small babies and would like to feed them fresh boiled veggies, rice, or lentils. It saves lot of cooking time and the cook book that comes with it is wonderful. It gives you so many nice and simple receipes for everyone.

Couple of our guests got so impressed with this that they bought it right away from Amazon.com without waiting to get an incredible deal for it in their Amazon.com GoldBox like I did.

Excellent set, easy to use and will last beyond its ten year guarantee.I use the pressure frypan to cook macrobiotic rice or oatmeal. After 50 minutes of high pressure cooking, I get perfect brown rice or oatmeal(no sticking or burning).Once you know the stove setting required to maintain pressure, you can almost forget it.However, as with any cooking device, I monitor it periodically. The pressure pot and frypan have flat bottoms which makes food preparation and cleaning a breeze. The glass lid was a major selling point, as it enables conventional use of both pots.

My wife makes succulent turkey drumsticks in only eight minutes of cooking time.

None of the other brands, we previewed, appeared to be constructed as well as the Kuhn Rikon models.

Needless to say, our family considers this set a great value.More important,we use it almost daily.

Buy Kuhn Rikon 6-Piece Duromatic Duo Pressure Cooker Set Now

I received a 5-liter Duromatic pressure cooker as a gift 7 years ago, and wondered, "What on earth will I do with it?"Now I use it almost every time I cook.It is well-constructed and lives up to every promise they advertise: fast, healthful cooking has never been easier. If you love beans, there's no better way to cook them--dinner's ready in half an hour or less.Steam vegetables in 1 minute, cook a whole chicken in 19 minutes,or make perfect risotto with NO stirring in under 10 minutes from start to finish! You can make wonderful puddings and cheesecakes, too, with a little practice.

I ordered the "Duo" set to get the glass lid and the smaller cooker.Though I didn't need another 5L, it is quite handy to have two (I use it without pressure for cooking pasta or some soups.)The smaller (2L)size is wonderful for quickly cooking cereals, small quantities for babies or kids, or side dishes.

The recipe book provided with this set is extremely helpful and detailed, so don't be put off by having to learn the cooking techniques (Note to Kuhn-Rikon: a video or CD-ROM would be wonderful!I received a marketing CD-ROM a few years ago but IMO it should be in the box.)It can be tricky to convert recipes, the book contains thorough charts with cooking times for most foods, and once you get the basics down you'll be ready to start experimenting with your favorites. If you would like to cook with more whole grains and beans, this is a must-have.If you want that slow-cooked tenderness, but not the boring taste of Crock Pot cooking, pressure cooking is for you.Unlike the Crock Pot, the PC allows you to start with a saute', use the pressure to speed up your cooking time, and then add more delicate ingredients at the end so they stay crisp and colorful. Also, on a hot day like today, I appreciate that the shorter cooking time uses less energy and doesn't heat up the kitchen!

At first I had a hard time finding good PC recipes, but lately there seem to be more cookbooks coming out as the PC seems to be enjoying a bit of a revival.I just ordered Rick Rodgers' "Pressure Cooking for Everyone" and am happy to see more recipes for "gourmet" foods as well as everyday meals.

My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that I wish they sold custom cooking inserts for puddings and cheesecakes. The standard method is to cover your springform pan with foil and make a "harness" from foil to lift your pan in and out.You end up wasting a lot of foil, and it is easy to accidentally dump your dish on the way out. It would be great if they made an insert with a lid and handles to make this easier.

It would be hard to find a more versatile cooking tool, and I'm newly in love with my Duromatic(s) again after receiving my new set.BTW, the 7-year-old set is still perfect, not even the gasket has worn out, although it looks a bit shabby compared to the new styling and shiny finish of the new set.I can't say enough good things about Kuhn-Rikon or Duromatic.Give it a try! Here's to healthier, faster cooking in your home!

I purchased the set for use on my boat where I wanted to save energy and time while preparing meals and have been using them for several months now.

I found the 5 liter pressure cooker to be great. It is extremely well made and if cared for I have no doubt that it will outlast me. The glass lid is also very useful if I want to use the cooker as a regular cooking pot, which I do quite often.

The 2 liter cooker is quite disappointing though. Since you are not supposed to fill a pressure cooker more than half full at best you only have 1 liter to work with. Even for one person this is not much. I have found that I can use the larger cooker and if I have smaller amounts to cook I just use a small metal bowl as an insert. I was hoping that it could double as a fry pan but it does not have a non-stick coating and the stainless steel is quite sticky.

If I were to do it again I would buy the 5 liter cooker and the glass lid separately.

Additional info: after having the fry pan for close to ten years the bottom is delaminating form the pan. I'm hoping I can get it replaced under the warranty before it runs out in a few months.

When I decided I wanted to buy a pressure cooker I "shopped" here at Amazon.com.The reviews were a great help. The pressure lid works like magic. It's so quiet.I also like having the 2 pot sizes. The smaller one is great for quick-cooking grains and beans. The larger one is great for cooking larger quantities or larger items like corn on the cob.I just cooked up some rice for rice pudding.Only 5 minutes!A really nice product.

I've been looking for a lid just like this one to fit my 12.5" Swiss Diamond pan for quite some time but was put off by the price of the brand that matched its name. I also found that the matching lid had poor ratings due to a tendancy to shatter seemingly without cause. When I found this one so reasonably priced, I decided to give it a go and it functions beautifully. It's not a snug fit like it was made just for this particular pan but it more than does the job. The only drawback is that the handle will come loose now and then but this should not dissuade anyone from considering it. A light twist and it's ready to go to work again. I would highly recommend this lid!

Panini Grill (Refurbished)

Panini GrillReceived this as a gift and thought it was great but, probably like many kitchen appliances, would not be used often. I don't use it everyday, but I use it a lot and not just for sandwiches. I have cooked shrimp, fish, garlic bread, and chicken and have been very pleased with the results. It is an absolutely great way to reheat leftover pizza since it crisps the bottom as well as heating it through. We have had the press for a year and my husband and I both use it once or twice a week. I believe the label 'panini press' implies it is more limited than it is. It has variable height and heat, with a sear setting, so it is really quite versatile. I plan to give 2 as Christmas presents this year. Also, it is very easy to clean with a damp cloth, but it might be nice to have removable plates and it should have a power button rather than turning on/off using the plug.

I have used both the Cuisinart and now the Breville so glad I have the Breville!

I used the Cuisinart Gourmet grill at my daughters' house and decided I had to have one. While researching I found this Breville and chose it because it seemed sturdier and more substantial; it stored upright out of the way; and it was about $25 cheaper.I made a great decision.I have had it about a month and have used it for toast, quesadillas, chicken breast, paninis, grilled cheese and I even cooked bacon strips in it! (Multiple settings make this possible.)I have a small kitchen and very few one-use appliances. This little guy stores upright out of the way but easy to get to...love it.

The grills aren't removable but they are still very easy to clean.I am thinking about getting one of these for my mom.Definitely would recommend it.

After a good deal of research, I purchased two of these for Christmas gifts. I was a little worried about the idea of giving refurbished grills for gifts, but both of our kids said they are wonderful. Because of their reviews, I will be replacing my panini maker with this one!

We first saw this model in action from a family member who had paid full price. We have been very happy with our grilled sandwiches. Thanks to Amazon reviews, we also found out that it is great for reheating pizza when you let the top plate hover over the toppings instead of touching like you do with a sandwich. The best part is that the top is hinged so that you can adjust the height. There were no signs that this was a refurbished item. We've had it for a couple of months and use it at least once a week.

Want Panini Grill (Refurbished) Discount?

I had no problems with the product being refurbished. There were only a couple signs the press was refurbished (eg there was 1 minor scratch on the nonstick coating and paper manual was a little wrinkled). Otherwise, the press looked brand new. I believe this is the same press Williams Sonoma is selling at full price, so this is definitely a good deal. The panini press came with the manual and all the accessories (e.g., scrapper and tray). Breville makes a high quality, study press. The exterior print on the box stated 1 year warranty, so I assume it has the same warranty as if it were new.

It's very easy to use. I've used the sear setting to grill chicken breast, strip steak, onions, and red peppers. Then I set the dial setting to panini and make delicious panini sandwiches.

Cleanup is also pretty easy. However, you will use some paper towels in the clean up process. While it's still hot, I use the scrapper, followed by wet paper towels. When it cooled off, I clean with more paper towels.

I'm very happy with this panini press. It makes a great meal.

Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-Inch Wok with Dome Lid

Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-Inch Wok with Dome LidOverall this is a decent product for use on a gas or electric stove. It seems to be well constructed, though lacking in mass at the base and heat distribution is average at best. However, for induction cooking, which this is advertised to do and the reason I bought it, this "WOK" is lacking. Though it will work on an induction burner, the wok will never get very hot. I performed a test with a thermal gun on the wok when using my gas stove and my 1800W induction burner as my heat sources. The wok performed poorly when using the induction burner and the gas stove test didn't fare much better.

The whole point of getting a wok is to have a cooking vessel that will transfer the maximum amount of heat into your food. I have a standard carbon steal wok that gets rocket hot in a minute when using my induction burner, so I know the burner is capable of putting out the heat. I also tested out a cast iron pan and it too will get over 700 degrees, though it takes a bit longer to get there. With induction cooking; "metal and mass matters".

The final conclusion is that this is a decent "PAN" for the price. If you are getting this to use on an induction burner, "don't". If you are getting this to use as a "WOK", buy a carbon steel or cast iron wok instead; you'll get better results no matter what source you use to heat up your Mung beans.

I bought it mainly because I could not get passed the good price. This is a great wok.Very easy to work with.I thought it would be a bit big for my stove, but it is not.And it has so much room.A few times that the meat had too much liquid in it when I used my 4-qt pan, this wok came to rescue. My stove top is also much cleaner since food does not easily get splashed out of the the pan.Easy clean up as well.

This is the Wok I had wanted for a long time. Finally I got it from Amazon. We cook a lot of vegetables daily, and need a large size fry wok. We've tried several woks and pans, which either aren't stainless or not big enough to hold a large amount of fresh vegetables. This is the best.My husband and I love it very much. It also looks great sitting on the kitchen counter. It is very stable when you stir-fry vegetables and perfect size for the stove and wouldn't waste energy. They are two handles you could hold when the cooking has done. Just remember one thing you need two hands to hold this wok when you try to put cooked food to a plate. You cann't have everything, if you want woks stable it might be heavy. There isn't any problem for me to handle this wok.

First of all, I was very impressed that such a large pan arrived so well packed and in pristine condition! Here are some other reasons why I am so happy with this purchase:

1.All of my cookware is Tramontina 18/10 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Clad, and I love them, but they do not make a stainless steel clad wok.The Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-inch Wok looks very similar to the Tramontina line.So displaying it in my kitchen with the rest of my cookware will work out great.I just need to find a space for it, as it is quiet large with the lid.So excited!

2.Due to a wok's outside diameter, I cannot fit one on my smaller burners on the back of my Kenmore glass top stove, as it will hit the back where the controls are.The only way I can use a wok/wok-like pan on my stove, is to get one that has a base diameter that will fit one of my front burners. The smallest burner on the front of my stove is 8 1/2" (my stove manual says I cannot use a pan that is more than one inch larger or smaller than that).Every wok I've found has too small of a base diameter to fit on my front burner (5 1/2-6 1/2" Calphalon, All-Clad, etc.).The Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-inch Wok was the ONLY stainless steel clad wok that would work, as the part that actually touches the stove is exactly 7 1/2", then it gradually curves out from there.

3.I am also very impressed with the depth of this wok!It can hold a lot of food!

4.The pan is very well balanced, has a nicely shaped handle, and a wonderful helper handle!

5.And lastly, which I think is the most impressive about this wok, is the beautiful domed cover! What a showpiece, as well as a functional pan that is fun to cook in!The mirror finish on the cover, a well as the pan is just gorgeous!

Cuisinart 626-32H Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-1/2-Inch Stir Fry with Helper Handle and CoverThis is a great buy. It's hard to find a nonstick hard anodized pan this large with a glass cover (which fits fine) at the price. And with the "Quantanium" non-stick surface, I could use metal utensils if I wanted along with the benefit of easy clean up.Also, please note that it's flat-bottom--I have a ceramic stove top and even calling Cuisinart didn't clear that up.I decided to take the risk and order it and it was indeed flat.Recommended!

This was purchased on 2007. After 2 years of regular use, we used it about 3 times a week for chinese stir fry cooking, wash it only with yellow sponge of Scotch-Brite, now as of November 2009. I've been noticed the coating starts to peel off. Since I don't want the coating mix with my food, I have to retire this one and get a new one.

We bought this wok about four months ago. We have been using this wok to make regular Chinese dishes, such as frying fish and rice. It works really well -nonstick as claimed with little oil. We are very happy with this wok.

Con: it is a little heavy.

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, Blue

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, BlueSo I was a bit hesitant buying something with zero reviews on Amazon but I'm glad I took the chance and did. All in all this pan has done exactly what it was supposed to. I just made some eggs in it this morning and they peeled off beautifully without a single spot sticking. Make sure to oil it up right when you get it as the instructions suggest. I can't comment for the durability as I've only had it about a week now, but so far so good (I'll update this if it goes to pieces in the near future). I will say, color wise, the blue is really dark and basically looks black so the color aspect isn't as fun as I had hoped for.But if you're in the market for a Teflon-free non stick skillet give this a shot.

Berndes SignoCast Classic 13-Inch, 6-Quart Saut? Pan

Berndes SignoCast Classic 13-Inch, 6-Quart Saut? PanI have consistently been disappointed by non-stick cookware.I wanted to buy a non-stick pan for day-to-day use that would stand up for years to come. It's been only a few weeks but I have a good feeling about the berndes.

This Saute Pan is large enough to handle the biggest tasks, but adequate for smaller tasks as well (I regularly cook for only two).It distributes heat evenly and it appears to hold heat well.I was expecting the pan to be heavy, but it is very light and the extra handle allows for ease of movement when you have a great deal of food in the pan.

And did I mention non-stick.It's as good or better than any non-stick pan I've ever used. And you get a feeling that it is non stick through and through.Plus the exterior is made of the same non-stick material so clean up is a piece of cake.

It's more expensive than most non stick, teflon coated pans but it's solid. It may be cheaper than Calphalon, but I'm not impressed by Calphalon. It's not so non-stick and not as even a heater as everyone says.Maybe I've seen the wrong Calphalon, but you're probably wasting your money on it.

Give Berndes Signocast a shot. The bigger the better.I only have one, but that's all you really need. This pan shares it's cooking duties with my Sitram Magnum Pro line, a Sitram Cybernox pan and a set of Le Creuset.I don't know if I'd buy an entire set of Berndes (I'm pretty old-school in most of my cookware choices) but give one a try you won't be disappointed.

UPDATE:

After a year and a half it's still going strong.Even the sides (which scrape up against other pots, pans, & utensils) still appear perfect, in terms of the non-stick coating.I will never again buy a non-stick pan that isn't made by Berndes.

I love this pan.It is expensive but the best pan for me.It is quite large and the non-stick surface is so smooth, both inside and out, and no sign of wear after about a year of use so far.Very nicely made.A good investment.

I like to throw a ton of vegetables into one pan and saute them: this pan is the best I've ever used for that purpose. Also, it has a really nice non-stick coating (or is made out of a great non-stick material, I can't tell which). The only drawback of this pan is that it is huge; you probably won't want to make scrambled eggs for one in this pan.

Want Berndes SignoCast Classic 13-Inch, 6-Quart Saut? Pan Discount?

I buy Signocast with a purpose, one pot or pan at a time rather than a set. That way I get what I want one month at a time, and all my utensils are used. Berndes Signocast is superior to a lot of the the higher priced alternatives with one additional benefit...they stay clean with very little care.Cooking results are outstanding, and since I generally grill or roast my meats, I don't worry about searing. Excellent product.Make sure you buy the ones made in Germany rather than China if you want consistency.

Calphalon Contemporary 12 Inch Glass Cover

Calphalon Contemporary 12 Inch Glass CoverI have had this thing on my wishlist forever. It was only $20, but for some reason, I never pulled the trigger on getting it.My birthday rolled around, and being that you don't get presents at my age, I thought I'd finally get this for myself.I know, that's lame, right?"Yay it's my birthday, now I can finally get that PAN COVER I've always wanted!".But well, that's how it went down.I'm sure there's some psychological reasoning behind that I bet people buy more crap on or near their birthdays.Anyhow this shipped to me fairly quickly. The pan cover was wrapped up super-tight in bubble wrap; nothing was going to damage this en-route.I have a 12" Calphalon pan with no top which I've ALWAYS needed.I have the 10" pan too, and it has it's cover, but I always end up using the bigger one ALL the time and always wish I had the darn cover.I was using tinfoil whenever a recipe called for simmer something with the cover on.Lame.Well, this thing fit my pan just perfectly and it matches my 10" pan with cover so now I'm all set.I mean, it's a glass cover for a pan what exactly more is there to say other than "it fits"???I hope you have enjoyed reading this and have a nice day!

After reading some of these reviews I was worried it wouldn't fit my Calphalon contemporary non-stick 12" frypan (code 1392 etched on the pan's bottom). However it fits fine, good seal, nice to have glass. What's not to like?

I ordered both this and the 10" lid. Both of them fit my "Contemporary" non-stick set. I noticed complaints from other reviewers. If you have the "Unison" or other style non-stick these may not fit. If you go to the Calphalon website you will see that the "Unison" pan lids are sold in a two-piece set, but you have to buy the individual lids for the "Contemporary" style. Know your pan styles before you buy, because these lids fit my pans perfectly.

Camp Chef Seasoned Cast Iron skillet, 14-Inch Diameter Heavy Duty Cookware

Camp Chef Seasoned Cast Iron skillet, 14-Inch Diameter Heavy Duty CookwarePoor quality, pot metal iron pan made in China. We ordered this pan thinking it would be a nice addition to our cast iron set but were very disappointed in the quality.Even the word skillet was misspelled on the bottom of this "Commemorative" skillet (skllet). After cooking and eating food prepared in this pan, we were left with an unpleasant metallic after taste. We would strongly advise buying USA made cast iron pans.

This is a great pan for the price. It is made for cooking and not beauty. I has the large handle on the opposite side for easy carrying when full of food. So if you want a fancy pan, this is not it. If you want a practical large skillet at a low price, then this it. It is at home on an outdoor grill, kitchen range and even in the oven. Only problem is a 14 in lid is hard to find.

In our house, we love our cast iron pans. And this pan is becoming the most used pan in our home! it has enough room to fryfive 5oz hamburgers at a time, making the time spent in the kitchen less than it used to be.

This is a pretty pan with its Crater Lake scene.

But we found the cooking surface to be rather pitted.

Although when we cooked in it, it wasn't any problem and I am sure after some more "seasoning" the pan will be a favorite.

Electric Skillet with Diamond Coat

Presto 06850 16-inch Electric SkilletThis is our second skillet like this. The first lasted for years before the finish started coming off of the interior so we decided to buy another just like it. The skillet cooks evenly and the heat is easy to control. We purchased through Amazon and J&R Music was the retailer who actually got the order. J&R ships items in the original manufacturers box wrapped only in plastic for protection. The first unit was damaged during shipment and that is when the nightmare began. It was supposed to have been a Christmas gift for my wife and I made that clear when I reported the damage back in early December. They drug their feet making promises of second day delivery and better packaging on the replacement. Bottom line we didn't receive the replacement until December 29th. It wasn't shipped second day as promised, it didn't make it in time for Christmas as promised and once again the box arrived damaged because they only wrapped it in plastic again. Buy the skillet but avoid J&R. Those people just don't get it!

I have had my mod# 06850 for about six weeks now and I really like it. I had a GE before this but the non-stick coating just wore out in 4 years of use. That old GE skillet taught me to be very careful with the coating and now I always use soft tools and no scouring of the pan (no need). If the pan gets really dirty soak it, never use scotch brite (green abrasive fuss) type sponge pads. I use the Presto on a daily basis and just love the very small amount of oil needed (NEVER heat non-stick dry) to cook things like eggs. Before getting this pan I tried another GE but the coating has been changed to an anodized aluminum type that is not worth a damn. This is the one for me, but don't scratch it!

I got an electric skillet in 1975 and used it until it quit many years later; then I didn't have one and didn't realize how much I missed it. I have this one now, and it is perfect to make pancakes in for one thing; I also use it for casseroles and keeps it warm when done cooking.I really like it for that reason; when family members can't eat together, it keeps it warm and tasty. It is an easy clean up and can all be immersed in water except for the probe that plugs into the wall and then into the pan base.Get one of the skillet cookbooks to go along with it; great gift for the son or daughter in college too.Casseroles, spaghetti, sloppy joe, grilled sandwiches, fry meats like hamburger or pork steaks, fry an egg and bacon, etc.Excellent for party buffet warmer. I will never be without it.

We purchased this skillet to replace a worn-out Presto skillet. The non-stick surface is working well. The large size has been very ample for our needs. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of a variable vent in the lid.

Epicurean Kitchen Utensils Angled Turner

Epicurean Kitchen Utensils Angled Turner, SlateI love the Epicurean Kitchen Utensils. I got the cutting board and I love it so when I saw this on amazon, I just want to get it because the turner I got from another brand is silicon and it has been melting a little because of the high temperature. This material is so nice, I think it's better than the regular bamboo. I like stirred frying stuff with this turner, but when it comes to picking up the food, it's a little bit tough since the turner is designed like this. It's straight and it's a little bit too small to pick up a lot of food from the pan.

These were priced right and were additions to the bamboo utensils I already had.

Most of my cookware is not non-stick, but I try to take good care of the pieces that are.

They serve the purpose and the dark color keeps them looking new longer.

This is a great turner, my wife and I own three of these and they receive daily use in our busy kitchen.Great for protecting the finish of our pots and pans, a combination of Viking and Lodge Cast Iron.Only small flaw is that they could be a little larger for picking up bigger items.

Berndes Kuchenchef 9.5 in. Skillet

Berndes Kuchenchef 9.5 in. SkilletAbout a year ago, my favorite nonstick pan crapped out, and I did a lot of market research to figure out what nonstick pan would actually last. I had gotten recommended to Berndes by a relative, and I noticed the 'eterna' pan on the Berndes website, which they featured as their longest lasting nonstick pan.

I did a bit of research, and found that unlike all the other pans that berndes has, this one is coated by a company called Whitford, which specializes solely in nonstick coatings. Their 'eterna' coating process seems to be the latest & greatest, and they performed several reasonably scientific tests to prove so, with impressive results:A few words of caution: they show that metal utensils can be used with this nonstick coating. While this coating lasts longer than anything I've ever used with or without metal utensils, using plastic or silicon utensils is still the gentlest, and works just fine for flipping eggs/french toast. Their coating is extremely resistant to abrasion, beyond any other pan I've seen, but it's still not bullet proof. I betting that using plastic utensils vs. metal utensils as well as washing it with your hand instead of a nylon pad is the difference between owning it for a few years and owning it for a decade.

I've searched around for other pans made with the eterna coating, and I only found one other pan from a much less impressive brand. It even had rivets on the inside of the pan, which was a major turn off. I wish there were more eterna pans out there; I'd buy more!

My wife and I have owned this pan for more than a year, and it's still going strong like the day we bought it. We're incredibly happy with it. We'll probably continue to be happy with it for many more years to come.
