Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetI received a set of Stainless Steel Wolfgang Puck pans from my parents as a gift two years ago. They figured I would enjoy some high class cookware especially since it came with the extra cooking utensils.I was so excited to have designer cookware, and I have been repeatedly disappointed in so many ways.I'll spell them out clearly so others can make an informed purchase:

1) This cookware starts out looking great, but after a few uses on a gas stove, the pitting and discoloration of the steel is terrible.I read all the instructions and cared for these pans with much effort handwashing, gentle cleaning, etc. They have been so pitted and stained after the first month of average use that I'm embarrassed to use them when other people are in my kitchen because they look downright dirty.I even tried gentle silver polish, overnight soaks, and just good ole' elbow grease without success.

2) Uneven cooking.I have been cooking for over 15 years, and some of that has been in professional kitchens.I routinely find that these pans heat unevenly causing food to burn in certain spots. The burned areas then stick to the pan.Forget trying to make delicate things like an over-easy egg.Almost every time I cook something using a dry cook method, it stick badly.I routinely break egg yolks, have well-buttered grilled sandwiches stick and then fall apart upon turning, and even less delicate things like 'hamburger helper' dishes have burned, but only in spots.Thank goodness I don't have kids in the house that might require 30 seconds away from the stove because cooking in these pans requires constant attention. Now, please assume I've tried adjusting the heat and stirring thoroughly and frequently. The same dishes I've made for years in other pans has ended up burned in these pans.I've even had the stove replaced over the past two years, and nothing has helped this issue.

3) Skin Burns! Stoves are hot so sometimes handles heat up on any cookware, but the handles on the pots, and especially on the lids seem to heat up much more than I'd anticipate.Steel is a conductive metal, so I'd expect some heat, but I've burned my hands more than a couple times by simply lifting a lid without a potholder.Actually grabbing the side handles of a pot could cause serious burns even after only a few minutes on the stove. This is just unsafe and poor design. I've also had friends who have cooked with me in my kitchen comment that these pans/pots 'spit'... what I mean is that if I'm heating water in the small saucepan, as I pour the hot water from the pan into a cup, the water spits and sputters (often onto the hands causing burns) as it contacts the heated edges of the pan when pouring.I've had this happen a little with other cookware occasionally, but it's a large problem with this cookware.Again, the heating qualities of these pans causes the areas not in contact with food to heat up very quickly.

4) Rivets are dangerous. To anyone shopping for pans, please take this point into consideration. When a rivet is exposed to food, such as they are with this pan, you set up a recipe for disaster.Food can become wedged in the small spaces around the rivets which makes cleaning very hard.Additionally, if those areas aren't cleaned properly, lodged food can grow all kinds of nasty food borne illnesses which are directly transferred to food next time you cook.Yes, heat kills bacteria the next time you heat up the pan, but it doesn't always kill the toxins that the bacteria produced while it was alive and well before heating. The toxins are what make you hospital-worthy sick. With these particular pans, they cut some corners with the rivets also, and they look as if they're oxidizing and beginning to break down.Again, disappointed.

5) The larger pots do not stack.Have ample cupboard room because even my small set takes up more space than it needs to.Poor design.

So, I'm stuck with a set of cookware that looks bad and cooks poorly.Who cares about the price or how good of a deal you're getting if you're food is sticking and your hands are burning? My recommendation: save your money and buy something else.

I purchased this set after I had cheaped out on two separate sets I had purchased from Big Lots and Target. Those sets started to fall apart after two weeks and couldn't withstand repetitive, long-term use (I make a lot of stews and slowly cooked items). So I opted to purchase this set with the only expectation for it not to fall apart.

This set has remained resilient for me.Easy to clean, easy to cook in, and considering the frequency of usage, it still looks great.Nothing is peeling, falling apart, and the handles are still sturdy.I also appreciate the variety of cookware, allowing me to cook beyond my stews.I might not know much about gourmet cooking, but personally I found this to be a prudent investment and would recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this set from Ross for $69.00 and it was a steal. This is my first purchase of a stainless steel set.I have used Calphalon and Circulon before and liked them also-but they were nonstick.

The secret to using these pans seems to be to heat them up with nothing in them to not much over a medium heat before cooking in them. Then reduce heat to what is needed.I have a gas stove and these pans DO NOT require high heat to get the same heat as you would with other pans.NOTHING sticks to them so far. They clean up beautifully with no stains, discoloration or pits.Because you don't need high heat from your stove the handles are easy to handle. The lid metal does get too hot to handle without a pot holder-but they do cool off quickly.

If you keep the heat on the pans to med high at best and probably lower, your handles can be held with bare hands. The heat seems to stay in the heavy bottom of the pans.

Before purchasing these I read a lot in chats about using stainless pans and several experienced cooks seemed to say the same thing:heat them without anything in them before you cook in them, then reduce and cook.It works!!!!These are fantastic pans and I am sold on having stainless-especially these pans of such great quality.

I have had Wolfgang's cookware for 10 years now and it is as shiny as the day I bought it. I do not put it in the dishwasher, and to remove stains from the bottom of the inside of the cookware all I use is white vineger. enough to cover the bottom, and warm it. Let it stand for 10 mins and rinse. thats it.

I have never used polish on these pots and pans as its not necessary.

The only complaint I really have it that the rivets on the inside, some are pitted and some are not, but thats because at one time or another I was cooking above the cooking line.

I have been cooking for 21 years, and professionally for 16. I think this cookware is great, you just have to use some common sense in caring for them. With good cookware there are certain things you have to do to take care of them.

I wish I had the same thing to say. I have the 10 piece set also. I think it is cheap due to the studs (that connect the handle to the pot). They look horrible after cooking in them several times. Im not sure why. But they all look that way. I havent seen any other set do that. My old cheap Wearever set didnt do that. I will buy Calphalon the next time. Im burnt on Wolfgang Puck. I do like the untensils alot

I purchased this stainless steel skillet for the same reason as most people I was tired of the non-stick coatings wearing out.I kept buying and buying new non-stick skillets until I came across this stainless steel model. And I just love it.

It cooks fairly evenly (nothing is perfect) and is super easy to keep brand new clean.

The only problem I have is with the control. It is VERY difficult to pull it out.I mean I pull with all my might to get the darn thing out so I can wash the skillet.I'm a 6' 200lb male in very good shape so that isn't the problem.

Does anyone else have this issue?I love the pan, but I can't believe it is supposed to be this hard to remove the control. With that said I still whole heartedly recommend this skillet.

Cuisinart 630-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 11-Inch Square Griddle

Cuisinart 630-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 11-Inch Square GriddleThis is (unfortunately) my second griddle. The Caliphon one I bought origionally turned out to stick like crazy. This was my fault, apparently, since I didin't read the fine print.

This griddle is exceptional. In the first place, it doesn't stick which is a must for a griddle.I am not a "professional" chef/cook so all I care about is a tool that works well without a lot of "preparation" or "conditioning".This griddle heats uniformily, the handle does NOT get hot, and it DOES NOT stick. In addition, you can use metal tools with it without harming it.

Cuisinart got it right with this griddle. One of the "best kept secrets" of the culinary world in my view.

The no-stick surface is wonderful -nothing sticks and it seems harder and more durable than usual; however, it is light and flimsy. The first time I used it, it warped a bit (and I was careful).

I don't think it heats as evenly as my old one.The bacon cooked nicely, but the pancakes were browner in some areas than others.

I'm looking now for a good cast iron or electric griddle.

We purchased a full set of the Cuisinart Quantanium coated cookware (piece at

a time) and noticed that some pieces are thinner than others.

The thicker pieces are nicer and distribute heat better.

This particular piece was too thin and so we returned it.

We like the Quantanium surface because it is strong and easy to clean but

the 11-inch squar griddle warped the first time it was exposed to heat

so it was returned.

The griddle leans toward the weight of the handle, so any liquid (oil, eggs, etc.) moves toward that side.Very frustrating! The surface itself is wonderful and non-stick.I use metal spatulas all the time with no scratching.

Futura Hard Anodised Deep-Fry Pan(Kadhai) 2-1/2-Litre with Steel Lid and Flat Bottom

Futura Hard Anodised Deep-Fry Pan(Kadhai) 2-1/2-Litre with Steel Lid and Flat BottomI got this a few weeks back. I am thrilled. My mom uses this same pan for about 20 years now. And I have to say this one seems like it will last me that long too . I have been slowly switching from nonstick to regular steel and anodized. I had calphalon but somehow the shape did not quite satisfy me. I got tramontina from walmart 18/10 set which is awesome but still not the right shape. I searched and found this online and I am beyond thrilled. THis is my go to pan. I wish I had never purchased all the other stuff . This pan and maybe a bigger one for those extra occasions would have totally sufficed

. Now getting to heating...awesome.

Burnt food cleanup ....a breeze...I just soak itin water and brush it out. This is not a nonstick but works as good as one especially for cleanups . I don't have to worry about peeling of the nonstick coating anymore.

Totally worth the money in my opinion.

De Buyer Country Fry Pan, Blue Steel

De Buyer Country Fry Pan, Blue Steel - 24 CmThe DeBuyer 11" country fry pan is the perfect size for my family and is really heavy-duty.It's not too big to move around or fit in my oven, but it's big enough to cook a whole meal without spilling over the sides.Photos make it difficult to know how deep any of the pans are or how far out they flare. This is a similar size to a dutch oven, butthe flat bottom is slightly smaller and the top diameter is slightly larger. So it's like a dutch oven that is more tapered, and no lid.Perfect for meals that need frying or searing. It requires seasoning like all carbon steel, but is worth the effort. There are many reviews or posts online how to season a pan, but some leave the surface unevenly treated, sticky or peeling.Like finishing fine furniture, many thin coats are better than a couple thick coats. The best method I've found is simple but may require a couple days.I found the directions online, printed for personal use, and now don't remember where I found it. First remove the protective coating according to DeBuyer's enclosed directions by boiling potato peelings and washing. Then you need to get a thin layer of oil hot enough for long enough to cause a chemical reaction that binds it to the metal.Because it's a different purpose than cooking and eating the oil, choose an oil with a low smoke point that hardens the most. Some research claims that flax oil achieves the hardest finish. But that may have seed particles, so if you use flax oil, pour a small amount in the center of a paper towel and fold it over itself so seeds don't bake into your smooth surface. Begin by heating the pan in a 200'F oven for 10 minutes to be sure it's bone dry and to open the pores a little. Then put it on a paper towel, pour a little oil on it, and rub the oil all over the pan, making sure to get into every nook and cranny inside and out.Now rub it all off until it looks like there is nothing left on the surface. There actually is oil left on the surface, it's just very thin. Put the pan upside down in a cold oven. Most instructions say to put aluminum foil under it to catch any drips, but if your oil coating is as thin as it should be, there won't be any drips.Turn the oven to 500'F (or as high as your oven goes) and let the pan preheat with the oven. When it reaches temperature, then set the timer for an hour. After an hour, turn off the oven but do not open the oven door. Let it cool off with the pan inside for two hours, at which point it's cool enough to handle. The pan will come out of the oven a little darker, but matte in texture not the semi-gloss you're aiming for. It needs at least six coats. If you feel any rough spots, you can lightly buff it.Again rub on the oil, wipe it off, put it in the cold oven, let it preheat, bake for an hour, and let it cool in the oven for two hours.Repeat several times. At that point it starts to develop a bit of a sheen and the pan is ready for use.Don't be tempted to use a thicker coat of oil to speed up the process. It just gets you an uneven surface or worse, baked on drips. You can't speed up the process. It only requires a little attention from you every 3 hours, so be patient and do other things. This patience with thin coats results in an ultra-smooth and hard non-stick surface that lasts many years with minimal care. There's only one small problem I had. With the pan upside down in my oven, the handle pushed against the oven rack and became etched. So I recommend covering the handle with foil during seasoning. With it's super-smooth surface and large size, this has become my favorite pan.

From the product description "Note: Blue steel pans can be used only with induction."

This is not true. Blue steel, like any carbon steel pan, can be used on ANY cooking surface. I think it was supposed to read CAN BE used on induction, since most cookware cannot.

Spirit Thermolon Non-Stick Skillet Size: 10-in.

Spirit Thermolon Non-Stick Skillet Size: 10-in.wife loves it, eggs slid out of the pan first time it was used. Too bad they ended up on the floor.

This is a quality pan. Nicely weighted, great non-stick surface, and well built. All non-stick surfaces will lose the non-stick quality over time. Sooner if you use no fat at all when cooking, or things like cooking spray on them. The infomercials are a bit deceiving that way. This pan comes with not only a warranty on the workmanship of the pan, but they also offer a two-year warranty on the non-stick coating. Most companies won't do that because they can't control how you are treating the pan. I was impressed. In my experience with cookware, you gain a lot in quality and performance by passing over the cheapest price point and going for the medium price point, you gain very little by moving from the medium to the highest price point. That is true of non-stick cookware, especially considering they will need to be replaced once you ware through the coating no matter how good the rest of the construction is. We had to return a cheaper pan because it didn't have enough weight to resist warping when heated. Heavier construction will also result in better heat distribution. This pan is perfect.

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 30 cm (12 inches)

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 30 cmThe first time I used this fry pan I got distracted and burned the chicken and mushrooms I was sauteing... I mean really burned after two hours of neglect... when I returned, the house was full of smoke and the food was burned beyond recognition. After it cooled, I washed the pan in warm water and soap; there wasn't a mark on it. Nothing stuck or blemished the ceramic coating. I truly thought the pan would have to go in the trash along with dinner. Thank God it wasn't Teflon, I would have had to report it to the EPA... great product at a great price.

This was a great purchase. It works great on electric or gas.Clean up is a simple wipe.I would buy this pan again.

UPDATE: Good pan so far, have owned now for just over a year and I cook a lot, i use several times per week.Has not lost any of it's no stick powers yet.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Bought because it doesn't release harmful chemicals. It's certainly non stick, I rarely have to brush it clean, just shoot water on it, clean.

If you don't scrub them with greenies (which is tantamount to 120 grit sandpaper, my paint and body guy uses greenies to prep car bodies) these kinds of pans will stay non stick a lot longer. When you clean them, ONLY use a plastic brush (if u need to use anything at all).DONT use the scrubbie.Don't wipe it with paper towels either (they will micro scratch pans, oh yes they will) unless u do it gently.

NOW WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PRODUCT IS THAT IT DOES NOT LIE ABOUT WHERE IT IS MADE.There is a certain other pan that says it is "From Germany" and it's not, it's Chinese (I finally found a review that says it it is actually made in China, the coating if from Germany what they hey???) and I simply cannot stand products that lie.

This pan is made in Korea and I've actually had pretty good success with Korean products, they seem to be well made, not just this pan.

This is a good pan for the price. Distributes heat evenly but the non-stick surface does not quite perform as well as I had hoped. Worked as advertised until I started seasoning steaks and chops in the pan. This resulted in stuck on spice residue in the pan. Removal with a paper towel and hot water micro scratched the pan surface diminishing its non stick capability. I suspect it would continue to perform at its original capacity if spices not applied until items removed from pan. I will probably buy another one and test this theory.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Nonstick Open Skillet

Cuisinart 722-30HNS Chef's Classic Stainless Nonstick 12-Inch Open Skillet with Helper HandleHave owned this pan for about five years, and really liked it at first. I'd hoped it would last a very long time, given the new-formula, supposedly sturdy, nonstick finish, as well as its strong stainless steel clad construction. But the nonstick surface has been progressively peeling off around the rivets for the past couple of years, not anywhere we use utensils. It's just plain surface failure, and we don't want it in our food. The degradation of the nonstick surface is all the more disappointing because this pan seems otherwise to have everything else going for it.

The majority of my pots and pans are from the same Cuisinart line and while I wouldn't put them up against fancier (and more expensive) pans like All-Clad, I've certainly been more than satisfied with the Cuisinart's performance.

I've owned the stainless set for well over a year and they've held up quite well.No warping, no serious scratches, no complaints.I bought this non-stick a few weeks ago because I've been so happy with the performance of the stainless pans of the same line.

Let's face it, you're going to have to replace your non-stick pan every year or two no matter what.So why pay a hundred dollars or more for one??

This skillet is in the price range of the "dime a dozen" skillets you'd find at your local kitchen supply store. However, it looks much nicer, heats evenly and does a great job overall.

No matter what the box says, that $100+ non-stick pan you're considering isn't going to last any longer than this one and you really have to ask yourself if that $100+ pan is truly worth the price difference.

Do yourself a favour and give this skillet a shot. You won't be disappointed.

I have used this pan now for almost a year and it has been nothing short of fantastic.I purchased this pan because I needed something a little bit smaller than my 12" non-stick pan and I found that an 8" pan was too small, this one fit the bill perfectly.I have actually tried to get cheese and egg to stick to this pan just because I could hardly believe how well it has performed and I have to say that the pan wins every time.Cleaning it is a breeze and the non-stick surface still looks nearly new with only a couple small surface scratches that you can see in just the right light, but are not deep enough to feel with your fingernail (yes, I have used metal utensils in it).I purchased this pan locally as a factory second (it had a small dent in the rim), but consider it to be one of my best kitchen buys to date.

Nordic Ware Non-stick Egg Poacher Insert for 10 Inch to 12 Inch Skillets

Nordic Ware Non-stick Egg Poacher Insert for 10 Inch to 12 Inch SkilletsWe love our new egg poacher. So many poachers cook only three eggs; this one cooks four.It fits inside a skillet and, because the handle is short, the skillet's lid will cover it.Each section is a rounded triangle, which is cute, and wider than a standard "cup" shaped poacher section. This allows the white of the egg to spread out a bit more, and results in the white cooking more evenly. No more jiggly whites! After some experimentation, I found that I could bring the water to a boil in the skillet while I buttered the poacher and cracked the eggs into it, then place the poacher in the skillet, cover, reduce heat to medium, and set the timer for exactly three minutes. Perfect eggs every time!

I was searching for an egg poacher and was glad to find that I could get one without having to purchase another skillet. This works great and all the eggs cook evenly without any feathering, waste or mess.I add a little butter or cooking spray to the egg chambers and they come out without any sticking.Butter works best. I use a silicon spatula to remove my eggs. They don't stick to the pan, but they don't slide out without assistance.

Since feathering is no longer a problem, I started using this to poacheggs for salads like macaroni, potato, and tuna.Instead of waiting on eggs to boil and then peeling them, I poach the eggs until the yolks are set, cool them and then dice. A real time saver, especially if you forget to start the eggs with the pasta or potatoes.

The Nordic Ware Egg Poacher is a simple and economical product that produces consistent results and eliminates the need to buy an egg poaching skillet.I recommend it and would buy it again.

Tip: The use and care directions are printed on the back of the cover.

This item claims to be non-stick but hardly passes the test. Unless you use butter and make sure the butter fully coats the container area were the eggs will touch, you may get achieve non-stick but don't count on it. If you use olive oil, you'll be scrubbing the egg off this product. My view of what a non-stick product is means you do not have to coat the pan with fats and oils to make it work. I guess you get what you pay for. In this case, you get what you didn't pay for.

George Foreman GR36P Grand Champ 133 Square Inch Extra Value Grill

George Foreman GR36P Grand Champ 133 Square Inch Extra Value GrillThis grill works great!I have had two and they usually last 4-5 years. The food is grilled perfectly and the fat is removed. When it comes to cleaning them though, that is a different story.

Follow these steps to learn how to effectively clean a George Foreman grill so you don't knock yourself out.

1. Unplug your George Foreman grill and while it is still hot put a wet paper towel in it and close it.

2. Eat your meal or wait about 30 minutes. Using oven mitts, wipe the grill down with the warm paper towel.

3. Purchase a George Foreman grill sponge set from Target or Bed, Bath and Beyond. Clean the grill gently with dish soap and warm water.

4. Use the plastic spatula that comes with the George Foreman grill to scrape off any hard-to-remove food. If you always clean it when it's still warm you shouldn't have any of this on your grill.

5. Dry your George Foreman grill with paper towels. Let it finish air drying before closing the grill.

This is my second GF grill. My first was a hand-me-down from a friend that I didn't use for six months b/c I thought the commercials were a bit silly and over-hyped.But once I actually tried the grill, I was a convert.

It is very easy to use and produces very tasty results. It grills chicken better than I could on an outdoor grill.I now use my grill 2-3 times a week or more, and now that I have the super-sized grill I even grill my vegetables on it.They taste great too.

Don't let the somewhat cheesy commercials (George is great, but just a bit goofy, I think.) or natural skepticism stop you from trying this grill. It is easy to use and produces very delicious food.Once you try it, you will buy it. I would buy another one if I needed it.

I am the OG owner of the first Foreman grill that small one that could barely fit two hamburgers. So fast-forward to 2012 and I decided to up the surface area.Works awesome. It is just like the small one that I have but huge.No fancy temp setting or removable grills just bigger.I also bought the sponges for this thing and they work great also.

The only thing I can complain about is that with any of the Foreman grills the power cord is very short and after owning it now for 10 months the non-stick surface starts to fade away but I use tin foil on the surface...makes for easy cleanup.

I bought this grill on the recommendation of a friend and have been extremely pleased with it.I tended to overcook food at first because the suggested cooking times seemed too short.Once I got the hang of it, everything turns out very well.It is easy to use easy to clean easy to store. I use the George Foreman cleaning pads with a little detergent and the grill plates are good as new.I would suggest that once the food is removed to place a double folded wet paper towel on the grill, close it, and turn off the power. Then when you are ready to clean it, the residue on the plates easily wipes off and it is ready to wash.

ExcelSteel 13-Inch super lightweight cast iron wok

ExcelSteel 13-Inch super lightweight cast iron wokLove this wok. It's a good sized wok, very light so it's easy on the hand and heats up very fast. Food won't stick if you first heat up the wok real good and then swirl in the oil.

I've had it for over a year now. It is indeed lot lighter than a regular make. I seasoned it and it works pretty well. It's not completely non-stick as I don't like heating oil to avery high temperature before putting food in. But the sticky parts are usually very easy to take off using a spatula, and they become crunchy once the whole pan heat up evenly, and then even easier to take off.

While lots of stir fry pans have round bottom, this one has flat bottom , make it safer on the stove. One con being that it is light and the bottom tends to slip. You have to be especially careful if your stove sits in a kitchen island and make sure it does not flip over. I always grip the handle strongly when I mix and toss with spatula.

Usually, cast iron woks are very heavy, but, because of the thin, lightweight design of this wok, the wok is pretty light -light enough to carry with just one hand when there is no food in the wok. Also, the food cooks nicely and evenly. The only problem for you might be that it is not as large as some of the other woks out there.

If you are even considering buying cast iron, you probably know that many of the health gurus recommend buying cast iron over other materials such as aluminum, which leeches into the food and has been linked to Alzheimer's Disease, or stainless steel, which can also leech into the food, causing who knows what.

So, if you are looking for a cast iron wok, I highly recommend this wok because it is lightweight. Just know that this wok is slightly smaller than some of the other woks out there.

My husband is the cook in our family and has been wanting a hammer shaped wok. He used to have one and he loved it. I went to several on-line stores looking for the perfect one for a Christmas present. After reading all of the reviews decided on this one (The discounted price had a lot to do with it!). It came right away but I waited until the big day to give it to him.

He finally made his first batch of stir fry and boy, did he have fun!! He kept saying "now this is how you cook stir fry!" And I was pleasently surprised when it came to clean up. I would HIGHLY recommend this wok to anyone.

My review:

Pros:

Lightweight for cast iron

Durable and solidly constructed

Large13" rim on the top, much narrow on bottom

Cons:

Coating on the inside surface to protect from oxidation, rusting rubs off very easily

If you haven't maintained cast iron cookware before, don't start here, this wok is tons of maintenance

After every use, requires soaking to loosen buildup at bottom of wok from cooking with oil, lots of rubbing with soft sponge (bristles or scrub will damage coating), hand drying, and then coating with oil for storage. If you don't take these steps, the wok will oxidize and you will see faint rust spots on the surface of the metal. Honestly, it takes me 15 minutes after every use just to maintain this wok before storage. I'm giving it away and buying a Circulon Infinite Deep Skillet with a high end teflon coating.

Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 11-Inch Fry Pan

Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 11-Inch Fry PanThis is a beautiful pan.I own and enjoy many pieces of the cast iron from Le Creuset. However, I prefer stainless steel.I was very happy when they came out with a stainless steel line by Le Creuset. This pan is a nice size for a family of four.I only gave it 4 stars because it would have been nice to have a lid.Otherwise it is a great pan.

It is a nice size but besides not having a lid, it stained, cooked bacon and it stained, cooked chicken and it is worse. Unfortunately I also bought the set, and after just steaming green beans the pot and steamer are stained. Tried to clean them with scrubby sponge then brillo. Was told to try Bartenders buddy for stainless steel but I don't want chemicals in the pan. It may not effect cooking but for new expensive pans they look awful

Sizzling Iron Steak Platter w/ Wooden Base

Sizzling Iron Steak Platter w/ Wooden BaseVery disappointing !! The wooden tray looks like a 1st year Wood Shop student made the tray. There are so many tool marks in the wood and the varnish is of very poor quality! The cast iron handle which one would use to pick up the hot steel tray is of very poor workmanship! This is a casting and the company did not bother to remove the flash from casting. If I were to keep this I would have to take a file and do major filing to repair to the cast iron handle to make it work on the tray. The handle would not fit on the tray to lift the tray properly. As for the cast iron steel tray, the tray appeared to me as though it was PAINTED BLACK. I for one am not real keen on eating on black paint !!Bottom line, The product is over priced and I would NEVER recommend this product!

Product is great for steaks.I ordered one then another after using the first.Pros: Keeps steak hot and juices on plate, great for reheating on grill also.Cons: Pretty pricey and I hope the wooden base holds up as long as the cast iron plate. If it does, it was well worth the extra money.

The handle of this item was broken when I received it. I'm too busy to return the product. Hate it.

This is a very shoddy piece of merchandise.Beside the fact that the wooden platter has a finish that wouldn't hold up for 2 washings, the very thin cast iron tray does not fit into the hole securely.I can see the whole thing slipping off and hitting the floor on the way back to the serving table. It is so difficult to determine quality from a small picture on the web and this item was the perfect example. It looked reasonably substantial in the photo, but when it arrived It looked like it should be offered for sale at the dollar store.

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10120 7 Impression Cornbread Pan, 12 Inch x 5 1/2 Inch

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10120 7 Impression Cornbread Pan, 12 Inch x 5 1/2 InchWith these pans, I feel like I am taking a walk back in time.I grew up with pans similar to these and love them.I know they are the old fashioned type which have to be seasoned, but once seasoned and if cared for properly, they will last generations.Just don't wash them in soap and water and never put them in a dishwasher. After you use them, clean them with hot water and dry thoroughly. Then they are ready to use again.

I got the pans to use with a recipe from Food Network. I followed the prep and cleaning instructions exactly and the pans worked great. Made the best corn bread I've ever had and they look so cute as little ears of corn! Two tips 1. the corn bread comes out of the pans easier if you don't overfill them 2. Preheat and butter the pans before filling with the corn bread mix they fall right out of the pans perfectly.

The cast-iron cornbread baker is a very good product. It is smaller than I envisioned but as it turns out, it's the perfect size for my needs. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good cornbread baker.

I've used this pan two times so far and I haven't been able to get the cornbread out either time. The first time I thought is was because I didn't spray it enough so the second time I sprayed it extra good but they were still stuck.

I was disappointed. The handles are too small. The pre seasoned surface was not strong enough to produce non sticking bread.

Cooking spray was needed. Over all the unit was smaller than I expected.

Corkcicle Color Wine Chiller

Corkcicle Classic Wine Chiller, CorkThis is a clever product, no doubt, BUT it has two drawbacks.First, you have to remove the icicle to pour wine. This is awkward and messy.Second, the icicle only goes halfway down the bottle.Given the shape of the bottle, that means that when the bottle is less than half full the icicle no longer touches the wine and is thus ineffective.

The Corkcicle is placed in the freezer, and when the gel in the tube is chilled, you replace the bottle's cork with this but unfortunately, the product doesn't really keep your chilled wine chilled for an extended period, or cool off your warm wines and keep it that way for a while.

For chilled wines, I found that after about 1/2 hour, the wine wasn't kept as crisp and chilled as the old reliable bucket with ice would keep it, unless you are drinking your wine quickly. And who does that? For the warm wines, it creates some cooling, but the warmth of the wine warms the Corkcicle, so the wine does not remain at an adequate temperature. And the problem exasperates itself when dealing with large bottles of wine, the kind you might put out for when you have guests.

Another thing I've discovered while using it is that when you go to pour your wine and remove the Corkcicle, wine drips from it, so you have to keep something handy to wipe. At least with the old bucket, I wipe the moisture from the bottle, and it's just water. With this thing, I'm wiping up red wine.

If you are a wine enthusiast, don't replace the ice bucket with this thing. If you are thinking about this as a gift, you might want to think again. It is nothing but a novelty item. For the same money, you can get a gorgeous stainless steel tub. And a stand and you're golden. Or try the Vacu Vin Stainless Steel Wine Saver Gift Set as an alternative.

Best host/hostess gift ever. Bar none. Nevermind its simplicity, it's brilliant! The corkcicle has been a conversation piece at every party we throw. This ingeniously crafted tool keeps wine chilled during tailgating, picnics, and other outdoor adventures. My wife chalks the Corkcicle up as one of those, "Why didn't I think of that?!" products. We have several in our freezer and one, in fact, just 'chillin' in a bottle of wine from last night. Easy to clean! The colors are another added bonus for any occasion! Highly recommended!

The corkcicle is great.Stops that nasty mess of an ice bucket that used to make my dining room table a swimming pool. Now I just pop in a corkcicle and don't have to worry about it.I got my first about 8 months ago as a gift, now I have 4 in my freezer and it has turned into my favorite gift to give.

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, Blue

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, BlueSo I was a bit hesitant buying something with zero reviews on Amazon but I'm glad I took the chance and did. All in all this pan has done exactly what it was supposed to. I just made some eggs in it this morning and they peeled off beautifully without a single spot sticking. Make sure to oil it up right when you get it as the instructions suggest. I can't comment for the durability as I've only had it about a week now, but so far so good (I'll update this if it goes to pieces in the near future). I will say, color wise, the blue is really dark and basically looks black so the color aspect isn't as fun as I had hoped for.But if you're in the market for a Teflon-free non stick skillet give this a shot.

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 10" Nonstick Skillet

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 10' Nonstick SkilletThis pan is great. The nonstick works really well and the base is nice and thick for even cooking. It's not the cheapest pan, but is worth the money.

The product seems to have gathered a few minor scratches. Prefer the lightweight feel of the product. Seems fair for the price.

Farberware Specialties Aluminum Nonstick 10-1/2-Inch Deep Covered Skillet, Platinum

Farberware Specialties Aluminum Nonstick 10-1/2-Inch Deep Covered Skillet, PlatinumThis was a great buy.I was not sure what kind of quality this would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is not the high quality of the really high-end cookware like Emeril, etc., but it is good enough for everyday cooking.

I like the fact that this is light-weight because I had to sell my Emeril cookware because it was too heavy to lift when full of food. This construction has been good enough to hold a full pan, yet lightweight enough that I can hold it with one hand.I also like the fact that the lid on this is glass so that I can see what is cooking.

Plus, the non-stick coating makes clean-up really nice.It is dishwasher-safe like it says, too. That was one of the biggest selling points for me since I do as little hand-washing as humanly possible.I know other reviews of this cookware state problems with the non-stick coating, but I have had none after several uses.Maybe mine is a newer version.

The only dislike I have had is that the handle only has a thumb holding area that is provided to protect you from a hot handle.Although it has not gotten hot yet, and is not supposed to, I would feel safer with a covered handle.

Overall, this has been a real bargain. It has held up well and has been all I could want.In fact, I like it so well that I have purchased other pieces of this make.I wish there was a picture of it provided so that you could see the lid and have an idea of the size and construction, but it looks much like the Farberware Accents Covered Deep Jumbo Fry Pan, but smaller, of course.

This skillet is great compared to the crappy skillets I replaced with it.I love the non-stick surface and how my food cooks evenly.Cleaning the skillet is a breeze even if left in the sink overnight. However, unlike the product description, the handle DOES NOT stay cool when cooking on the stove top and I found out the hard way...ouch!Always keep some oven mitts nearby when handling this skillet.

This is the best pan I have ever had.I bought it to replace one that I've had for eons and it just gave out.I used it to make rice and thought it was the best. Not so.This new pan that I purchased is THE BEST pan and my rice comes out better than it did before.I am still new at using the pan but if it cooks my rice the way I want it then I am sure everything else is going to be great as well. Please have no reservations on purchasing this pan as I am VERY satisfied.I am sure that you will purchase other sizes as well after using this pan.

Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry Pan

Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry PanQuite simply, this mesh basket works great for grilling veggies. The metal handle can get hot after awhile -I've surprised myself a few times by grabbing the handle too close to the basket. Otherwise, this basket grills conveniently. The shape of the basket makes it ideal for flipping veggies for more event grilling.

Love the removable handle and easy access to veggies when finished cooking

These are awesome, you can grill little things that have been to tough to control on a grill; I've grilled peas, corn kernals, fava beans, cloves of garlic

Another great thing about this is that the handle detaches (relatively painlessly) so you can close the grill and not have to worry about hot handles.

Also a whole lot more durable than I expected!
