All-Clad Stainless 11-Inch Nonstick French Skillet

All-Clad Stainless 11-Inch Nonstick French SkilletMy husband begged to replace our non-stick skillet, so we decided to spend the extra money and buy our second all-clad skillet. I wasn't sure about the higher sides in the French-style skillet, but now that we have it, I realize it makes the skillet far more versitle. We've had it for 3-4 months and use it at least 3 times a week. It has become our kitchen work horse.

I owned this pan for almost 9 month and the nonstick portion went bad from washing it etc. However I brought back to the store and since they have a lifetime warranty the store exchanged it for me for a new pan. Can't beat that?

Buy All-Clad Stainless 11-Inch Nonstick French Skillet Now

I have had several non stick all clad pans.Over the years, I have returned them under warranty. It takes them 6-8 weeks to evaluate your pan for any returns. The most recent pan I returned as it was sticking terribly was in November.Four months later, I still do not have a replacement, and am getting no where with customer service.Be sure you get a confirmed delivery as well, they said they did not receive my pan at all until I provided the USPS delivery confirmation that I paid for in addition to sending the pan back. All Clad agrees the pan should be replaced, but four months later no pan.Do yourself a favor, save your money and get something else in the non stick pan class. The warranty is almost useless at this point, and after a few years, even with no dishwasher, wooden utensils and care, they will stick.

I purchased a 10 piece set on December 09, 2012.Suppose to come with promo gift of lasagne pan, mitts, and cook book.Been in touch with rebate center and Al Clad and they both blame each other. As it turns out rebate center wants to have me call them every 10 days since December because they are on back order. Wouldn't it be better customer service if they gave me a status update every 10 days via email!?!While I enjoy my new pots and pans I will tell you the customer service is terrible at Al Clad.It definitely isn't an inventory problem on their part. They just blame it on China.

Farberware P08-525 electric skillet base

Farberware P08-525 electric skillet baseIf you are replacing an older style pedestal, be aware that this one will not be as snug a fit.It puts your pan up 1 to 1.5 inches higher and there is more wiggle between the base and the pan.Otherwise, it seems to be fairly stable.

Thanks to being able to buy a new base I can continue to use the skillet I love.Couldn't cook without it.

All Clad Stainless Steel 13-Inch Non-Stick French Skillet with Loop Handle and Lid

All Clad Stainless Steel 13-Inch Non-Stick French Skillet with Loop Handle and LidSo... Most folks would say your are nuts for spending the amount of money that All Clad charges for just one pot or pan. But then, these are also the folks who will spend $99 for a set of 10 pots and pans at a discount store and then end up replacing them often. They'll also complain because their food with cook unevenly, burn, the pans will warp, the handles become loose... well, you get the picture.

When you buy All Clad, you are buying for life. Really!

All Clad pots and pans have a lifetime warranty. Cook with them once and you'll wonder why you used anything else.

Ina Garten said that she herself uses All Clad pots and pans and Wusthof knives. She noted they are expensive, but they really are a one-time purchase that lasts a lifetime. Even she suggested you can start small and add to your collection as your budget and needs allow. That's what I did and I have no regrets.

All Clad heats evenly, is very solidly constructed and remember... If you ever have a problem, if anything fails, All Clad replaces it for you, for free, no questions asked. Who wouldn't like that?

You cannot go wrong with an All Clad purchase. While the stainless steel is dishwasher safe, All Clad says that you should not place this pan in the dishwasher as it can affect the non-stick coating. I personally do put mine in the dishwasher, occasionally, on the top rack. Now, I am fully aware of the fact that if I have an issue some day, All Clad may not replace it because I put it in the dishwasher. I know folks who have done the same and All Clad has replaced it when the finish wore down.

I have not had any issues, but just wanted to make you aware that while all of the other All Clad stainless steel pieces are dishwasher safe, they don't want this one in the dishwasher.

However, like all of their other cookware, once you cook on All Clad, you'll wonder why you used anything else.

Don't buy the cheap stuff any longer... Make the investment in quality. You'll be glad you did!

The Product Details Indicated:

Product Dimensions: 22.1 x 13.2 x 3.6 inches ; 6 pounds. However, it wasn't 3.6" high, it's only 2" high/deep.The pan itself seems to be of the same usual quality that All Clad offers.I will keep the pan and I'll let you know if there are any other surprises.

Deni Table Top Burners

Deni 16310 Stainless-Steel 1500-Watt Tabletop Single BurnerPurchased from Amazon in May 2010 dead as of today. Normal household use; yet, it dies in 3 months. The Warranty states I am responsible for the cost of shipping it back to Deni so it isn't worth the cost!

Update: deni was helpful in resolving my complaint. Since the cost of shipping the item back to them (even freight) would be prohibitive they have allowed me to mail in the severed cord and will replace the defective unit. A fair resolution!

I bought this deni double hot plate from Sear in November of 2008. It serves as my main source for stove top cooking as I do not have a stove (i do not want to buy one). I use my rival roaster oven in place of an oven while using this hot plate. This hot plate works wonderfully for me.I use it on a daily basis for rice, stews, sauces etc.

I am unsure what happened to the hot plates that were used by the other two users but mine works perfectly. My only complaint is that I am contactly using the stainless steel cleaner to get it back to a decent look.

So far I have had to return this product twice after both times it stopped working after two weeks. Amazon was great about the first return but I had to go through the Deni manufacturing company the second time. The company requires you to ship the broken product to them UPS but will not pay for the shipping of their product which ends up being almost the same cost of the product so in the end you are paying double or more if you have to return it more than once. Also, they don't do money refunds even when you are on their third try. Terrible product and a company that needs to change their return policies is a great reason to avoid this buy.Deni 16310 Stainless-Steel 1500-Watt Tabletop Single Burner

Winware 3-Ply Stainless Steel Fry Pans

Winware 3-Ply Stainless Steel 12 Inch Fry Pan with Silicone SleeveGot fed up with teflon coated pans, the coating is just too fragile so they wear out quickly and the food ends up sticking anyway. Plus, I'm sure they're not the best for your health. So, I went for a plain old stainless pan instead and I don't regret it! This pan is well made, it has a nice weight to it, and the silicone grip makes it easy to handle. It heats evenly, and retains that heat beautifully. I find I don't have to turn my burner up nearly as high as I did with my old pan. I've mainly used it for cooking eggs and bacon in the morning, so I can't really comment on cooking anything else. But for those items, it's been a dream.

There's a bit of a learning curve with stainless though, you can't just turn the heat on, throw some oil and food in and expect things not to stick. You have to heat the pan for a couple minutes before you put the oil in, then let the oil heat up for a bit. The goal is to get the pan and oil hot enough to cause the water in the food to vaporize, creating a cushion between the food and the pan (or at least, that's what google told me). You'll have to experiment with different temperatures; you don't want it too cold, but you don't want it too hot either. Too much heat will break the oil down and cause things to burn and stick anyway. It takes a few tries to get the balance just right, but you'll figure it out. Once you do, it's better than non-stick! I can slide a serving of scrambled eggs out onto a plate without leaving a trace in the pan. I simply wipe the remaining oil residue out with a paper towel and it's ready for next time! And yes, you have to use oil for EVERYTHING. Even greasy things like bacon, or else it'll stick. The cold fat will adhere like glue. You don't need to use more than a teaspoon though, so it's probably not going to kill you.

By the way, if things do start to stick badly (and if you're anything like me, it will happen in the beginning... a lot), simply pour a bit of hot tap water into the hot pan on the stove (not cold water, you don't want to warp the metal!) and scrape around with a spatula. You'll easily get most of the gunk out that way. Then take it to the sink and use a scrubber pad (you can do that with stainless, yay!) and some soap to clean out the rest. Good as new, no big deal.

So, if you're willing to do a little experimenting and develop the skills required to use it, buy this pan! The ladies dig guys who know how to use a stainless steel pan correctly. At least, that's what I like to believe...

This skillet is one of the very best I have ever used. It is very easy to clean, not to heavy and the silicone handle really helps.I would highly recommend it.

Buy Winware 3-Ply Stainless Steel Fry Pans Now

Nice heavy pan. The weight is a real pleasure. (Yes it is heavy, it's supposed to be, say thank you, don't complain.) Takes longer to heat up on my crappy electric stove than a thinner non-stick pan. But it's supposed to. I can also cook with almost exactly half the heat that my Calphalon non-stick pans require. I haven't cooked with All-Clad or any of the high end pans, I specifically tried this hoping I wouldn't have to pay the premium price for those. (Though I do have a few pieces of Le Creuset cast iron. The big dutch oven and an 11.5 inch skillet. So I do know what good performance is.)

My only complaint is the color of the red/pink silicone handle cover. This is commercial cookware, so I get it. Bright colors in a fast and busy kitchen. The color doesn't look bad, it's just not a color I especially like.

Another reviewer complained that the silicone handle cover was too short. It is a heavy pan, I suppose I can understand the point if you wanted to use two hands or if you didn't have a lot of strength in your wrists. But once again, this is commercial cookware. Anyone working as a cook is going to be able to manage a pan one handed. The cover is certainly long enough and with some to spare, to grip safely with one hand and even two if you're careful and need to move a full pan across the room.

All in all, it cooks a lot like my Le Creuset 11.5 inch cast iron in terms of heat distribution. Not quite as good, but it cost 25% as much too. And it's a lot easier to take care of.

Finally this really is a 3-ply pan, layers go all the way up the sides. Very uniformly made. I almost didn't try this because it has so few reviews. I'm glad I did. Pick up some barkeepers friend and you're set.

This is a good quality pan and is heavy and sturdy. My only complaint is that the silicone sleeve isn't long enough over the handle. My hand has to hold the metal part also, to balance the heavy pan, and it is not comfortable at all. The handle is very thin and rough to the touch. Otherwise, the pan cooks food very quickly and cleans up well.

Cajun Cookware Skillets 12 Inch Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet

Cajun Cookware Skillets 12 Inch Seasoned Cast Iron SkilletI purchased this skillet for a gift to some British friends that the world in their sailboat. They had garbage for a skillet.I mailed the skillet to myself and shipped to them in England. They cooked often on it at home, but i have yet to hear how it fares on the sailboat.I'm sure it's wonderful, and they love it. The skillet was as true cast iron as I know it to be because it was very heavy. You simply shouldn't cook on anything else. The cast iron gets carbon buildup, which is all of the flavor.A "clean sparkly" skillet is one that won't flavor well and nothing conducts heat like cast iron.Additionally, you should never cook in high heat with anything but peanut oil.Other oils will burn and are potentially flamable at high temperatures.Use peanut oil to properly season your skillet and produce its true carbon coating by smoking it on high. You can probably find better detailed instruction on the net about how to do it, but it is simple enough and then just rinse and wipe clean.A dab of oil in the interior a bit afterwards to protect from rust and store.

I love cooking with cast iron. Apparently, this product was a "second"-I was not aware of this when I purchased it. There is an iron "glob" in the middle of the cooking surface that makes it hard to flip food successfully. If it weren't for that, I would love this item.

This is a great thing to have. With a chestnut tree a few blocks away, it's quite nice to have the option of roasting them the old fashioned way (and with some novello). With the long handle, you can use it over a real open fire or you can use it on a stovetop or grill, although you'll have to prop up the handle in that case.

It's a great pan looks nice and of good quality.

The only thing I don't completely love is the handle.Although strong enough, it is long and thin and I just don't like how it looks as much as the rest of the pan. It's sort of shiny black with some lighter spots.Really not a deal breaker, but I'm just pointing it out. Now, what would really be awesome is if it had an easily interchangeable short handle so you could really use this perfectly on any occasion. But it is riveted on very sturdily (which is a positive under most circumstances).

Cuisinart 66-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart 66-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece Cookware SetI am an avid home chef & treasure high-quality cookware. These are great! They are thinner (but harder) than many brands, which I truly love. Lower heat settings can be used for comparable results in other cookware, which saves energy, money, & severity of burns if the user is accident prone.

Some things to know:

1. These pans are designed to be hung on a rack. Hanging does save your cookware from a lot of those small injuries caused to them by stacking.

2. The Quantanium non-stick finish is like Teflon on steroids! I use about 1/4 the oil/butter I normally used in the older versions of Teflon. As mentioned above, a lower heat setting is also necessary. These are very easy to clean (except the stainless steel "buttons" where the handles are attached everything sticks well there).

3. Although they say "Metal Utensil Safe", DON'T! Save the metal utensils for your cast iron & stoneware.

4. Non-stick cooking spray tends to eat finish on pans. Preserve them by washing well with soap & water as soon as they are cool. TIP: NEVER, EVER put a sizzling hot pan in water or dump cool water into it! This causes warping that basically ruins the pan. Move the pan to an unused burner & let it cool naturally before washing.

5. With the small steamer insert, never fill the pan over one inch above the bottom of the insert. With the stockpot insert, 2 inches. This can be pushed to nearly 3, but the mess from overfilling is big.

6. Enjoy & care for these pans! You won't ever have to buy replacements for them as long as you don't abuse them.

I purchased this 14pc set of cuisinart pots and pans, after many comparisons and shopping around. I was initially more interested in purchasing Circulon Elite, but I wasn't too happy with the sizes offered in the set. Anyway, I am extremely happy that I purchased this set instead and here's why...

The price is great! This is a high quality product! There are 14pc included and they are all in useable sizes, the only additional thing you many need is a 12"skillet, but I have been fine without one so far. The 4 quart saute pan is wonderful!!! And I absolutely love the steamer basket, that was a huge selling point for me because I steam veggies everyday! I am very impressed with everything about these pots and pans! The non-stick finish has been very durable so far, and extremely easy to clean. They cook evenly with no hot spots, etc. One important thing to note that makes this set different than most other hard anodized cookware, is that these are made with an aluminum core. So they have a hard anodized exterior and a non-stick interior, but the aluminum core makes them quite a bit lighter in weight to most other products. I consider this to be a positive thing, I don't need to break my wrist washing a pan. But if you use your pans as weapons, consider something else. =) The exterior finish is awesome, its a smooth hard anodized finish and very easy to maintain. Another review complained about the exterior, that "it looked cheap and no matter how she cleaned them they looked bad"... well, she's crazy!!! These look awesome!!! The clear lids are very helpful, although they do tend to get hot so using a rag when lifting is advisable. But handles on the pans seem to stay cool, no problem.

Anyway, if you are considering this cookware and are comparing it to more expensive brands, then save your money! You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

I got these on sale last week from Amazon at .Totally worth it.They are nice and heavy, heat evenly and the non-stick is amazing. You can put them in the dishwasher but it makes the outside of the pan turn a chalky dappled grey color. You really should hand wash them unless you don't give a crap how the outside looks.

The metal and glass lids can get hot while cooking but that's why they make over mitts but the great thing is, since these pans do not have the rubber coated saftey handles you can transfer from stove top to oven for a broil without having to worry about ruining your handles [like the old Revere Ware].

Update: 2009 and the pans have not yet fallen apart. The larger cookpot is showing some wear on the nonstick finish after heavy use.I also admit to using metal utensils on the product. The lids are in great shape and have not cracked or chiped and all the metal handles are still bright and shiny and not loose depite me washing them in the dishwasher.

I never write reviews, but this one is worth it!Cleanup is a snap, even baked on cheese.Normally I dread cleaning pans and just toss them in the dishwasher.I did abide by the instructions and washed them by hand.Egg, grease, baked on cheese, you name it.A little hot water and soap under the faucet does the trick.

I'm tossing my other pans.

Want Cuisinart 66-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece Cookware Set Discount?

15 years out of school and in desperate need of new pans, I researched for months on cookware brands, materials, pan-types and price. I purchased the Cuisinart 14-piece set based on my research & the enthusiastic commentary of so many other long-time users.

In every day use, this Cuisinart cookware has met my expectations. All of the pans including the skillets can be used with the lids included in the set. You won't get as many lids as pans, but having a perfectly-fitting lid on hand for both the 8" & 10" skillet is rare, and really nice.

The cookware pieces are attractive, well-made and perform exactly as described by the manufacturer. A smooth finish inside and out means that hand-washing is easy; food just does not stick in the pans. The rivets are easy to clean, too -these are big pluses since my schedule does not allow for much additional time for chores.

I tend to use medium to medium-high heats for most dishes, and haven't needed high heat to get quick & even results. I don't have a kitchen large enough to hang the cookware pieces, so I stack/nest them in my cupboard, using Wonderliner padded shelf inserts between them to mitigate against any scratching. However, the Cuisinart Cookware's nonstick surface has been quite durable and the set shows no signs of interior nor exterior wear.

The steamer insert is great for vegetables and Asian dumplings (I never use the pasta insert.) I couldn't find the steamer insert sold separately, and you can't use a metal fan basket steamer on the nonstick surface, so buy the 14or 17piece sets to receive it. I use wood and silicone-based utensils with the set.

I own other cookware (Cuisinart Multiclad, Staub & Le Creuset) to cover a full range of cooking needs. Nonstick is essential for certain applications; all in all, it truly has been a terrific set for me.

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 12-1/2-Inch Fry PanI have been looking for a good non-stick skillet. I've used non-stick skillets from All-Clad and Calphalon but they all had one problem: peeling of the non-stick layer. I saw an unused All-Clad skillet from their new line at Williams-Sonoma and it had scratches on the non-stick surface.

I found what I was looking for! This fry pan is excellent! It is made in Switzerland. It is big. The outside diameter is 13" and the bottom is almost 9 3/4". It requires a large burner. I have a Miele electric cooktop which has a burner large enough for this skillet. I have tried it over a smaller burner and it worked as well. The food browned evenly over the surface of the skillet. The cleaning is easy. I only have a small issue with the lid. The lid assembly was easy. However, during washing water gets into the steam vent and then it comes out after the lid is dried. It takes few drying sweeps to avoid water streaks on the lid.

Overall, I am very pleased with this skillet. I am looking forward to getting more skillets from Swiss Diamond.

Update. May 2009. Zero stars.

Like its predecessors from All-Clad and Calphalon, this skillet stopped being non-stick after about a year. It wasn't abused in any way: no metal utensils and no prolonged cooking of foods other than pancakes and fish. Yet, the center of the skillet began to darken first, than the rest of the skillet has darkened. I used baking soda (suggested by All-Clad website). It did remove some brown residue but the skillet is completely not non-stick, everything sticks to it even more.

I am happy with a non-stick skillet from Circulon infinite line. I bought an 11" skillet at Macy's for $20 as a product promotion item. The best non-stick that I have is from LeCreuset. Unfortunately, the largest one LeCreuset made was 9" in diameter.

I found one of these locally at just below Amazon price, and bought it to try out.Now that I have used it for several months, I highly recommend it even at full list price, and am saving up to purchase a complete set to replace my other worn out pots and pans.

First things first:

This is one of the best nonstick surfaces I have ever used.Messes clean up better than from Teflon coated pans, even after sitting and getting cold and hard.I have never had to use more effort than simply wiping off with a kitchen sponge and some warm soapy water.

Unlike other surfaces, this one holds food in place until you are ready to move it.Things don't slide around, so they can properly sear and brown. This is also handy for things like fried eggs.I fried an egg just today and it came out perfect. With a little bacon grease for flavor, the surface gave the egg white just enough tension that the cooking egg held together into a nice 4 inch circle instead of spreading thin all over the place.I have suffered a lot of frustration with other cooking surfaces over this.

Heat transfer is incredible. When you put food on this pan after preheating, it sears up and browns immediately.I'd say it equals cast iron in this respect, with the added bonus of being nonstick.

Heat distribution and retention is also very good. Not quite as good as cast iron here, but then nothing else ever will be -and even though the pan is heavy, it is still considerably lighter than my 12 inch cast iron.

About the only caution I would have is that, despite the manufacturer's hype, the surface is NOT 100% resistant to whatever you throw at it.I did a controlled test on a part of the skillet that will never see food, and you CAN put a nice scratch in the diamond-coat with a strong stainless steel tool.So be sure to stick to wood and synthetics, not steel. However, to be fair, it IS tougher than any Teflon surface I have tried, and about equal to some of the fancier anodized finishes.

The handle is good and solid, but you may want to grab it and test it yourself in the store before you buy it all depends on each individual's hands. The helper handle could be improved, however.Because the helper is integrated with the cooking surface, it heats up.You need to use mitts to use the helper.Seriously.That surface will scar you for life if you grab it while hot.Always treat it like it is hot cast iron, because it will burn you the same way.

Some people will complain the handle isn't riveted into place. Those people need to embrace the 21st century. The handle is very secure without rivets.Unless you plan on using this pan as some sort of bludgeoning weapon on a regular basis, the lack of rivets poses no problem. Moreover, the rivetless design ensures that the entire interior surface of the skillet is smooth and uniformly nonstick.I personally have always found the rivets in other "nonstick" pans to be the surface area where food always manages to get stuck. No rivets for me, please.

The lid is decent but it is just a lid.Nothing too fancy. It is a good grade of glass with a vent-lid handle. When you close the vent, it holds steam very well. With the vent open, you get a pretty decent evaporation rate, so you can quickly reduce liquids by retaining heat by letting moisture escape.

Like I said, I want to buy a complete set.Highly recommended.

Sometimes customer reviews can steer you wrong.I relied on a review below praising this pan's handle and have found it to be far less solid than implied. This is a heavy pan and, when filled with food, a lot of torque is exerted on the handle.I have had to retighten mine several times in the first year of service and find that it never feels 100% secure. It's less of a problem with the smaller fry pans from Swiss Diamond, but all in all I don't think I would choose a non-riveted pan again and especially not at the premium price of this one!

I knew I wanted a cast iron skillet for frying and other things, and knew I wanted it to be a heavyweight (because that's how good cast iron skillets should be), and decided on this one because I liked the looks and the pouring lip, and Cuisinart tends to be reliable. It has a sorta high price tag, but from what my grandmother told me, a good cast-iron skillet will last forever, so I dove in. And so far, it's been more than worth it. Not just for chicken frying, though the straight tall sides make it great for frying (I've tried a couple things, chicken, hushpuppies, and zucchini and all have come out nice an hot and crisp), but also for making things from browning a ton of onions, to simmering a sauce, to making a big curry for about 10 people. It's just a workhorse of a pan, and the ability to drop it in the oven (using both hands, don't forget) to finish off a dish is very helpful. Oh, and it does look great (I have red) on the stove, too, which is a bonus. Overall, I'd suggest this pan to anyone, whether they want to use it to fry chicken or not. It's an investment that you'll be using for many years.

I picked up one of these babies about a year ago and the previous reviewer is right she's a workhorse. I make big stews and meat/rice dishes in this and its great. Sautée the chicken for Arroz Con Pollo and then throw in the chicken stock and rice and toss the chicken back in and simmer for 40 minutes perfection. Very even distribution of heat it takes a few minutes to heat up but its nice and DEEEEEEEP. You can really fill it with food. It practically acts as a second Dutch oven. Want some amazing roasted root vegetables? Skin 'em, chop 'em, and throw them in this baby in the oven at 300 degrees (with that nice heavy cover on) for 1 hour. Absolutely delicious. Sweet and rich and flavorful. The heavy iron nature of the cover and pan ensure the inside turns into a sauna and stays that way. You almost have to be careful not to overcook food with the top on. Once this baby warms up, turn the heat down to medium low and let her do the rest. Its like a mini-stove all to itself. But you better workout. This sucker tips the scales at close to 35-40 pounds with the cover on, I'm guessing. Its ROBUST. I'll die before this thing does. Ever dent a pan by dropping it? Not this daddy. You'll dent your floor first. Mind your feet, this thing would shatter them. Built to LAST. One of the best things I've ever spent my money on. I have an 8 inch too. That's just as bulletproof, but it didn't come with an iron lid. Not cheap but worth every penny.

One tip heat it up a little and use a nylon scrub brush to clean it. Otherwise it'll be a pain to clean.... And mind the temp! No high heat required here!

I am not certain if Amazon is getting second-hand or reconditioned products, but both the Cuisinart pieces I received have been flawed--chipped or dented in places.I kept this piece because it was only slightly dented/flawed but I returned the 7 quart Cuisinart pot because the enamel was peeled off on the outside.I have reordered the 7 quart pot hoping that I can receive one in good condition.I prefer Le Creuset but the margin for the brand name is outrageous.I have two Le Creuset pieces and they have lasted for five years without damage though.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Omelet Pan with Glass Lid

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Omelet Pan with Glass LidHad this pan for about 4 months now and I love it!!! Cooks evenly and is VERY responsive to heat changes and cleaning up couldn't be easier. Just a little soap and water, anything that was on just glides right off. Loved it so much that I bought the 8" and 10" Omelette Pans, very excited to use them. This is a great pan to have if you have limited space and need something that will fit different way/needs of cooking.

I bought this pan to replace a covered 10" pan. Out of the box I noticed that the lid felt heavier than the pan. Although the pan cooked food well, the handle is uncomfortably long and not well balanced to the pan. Once you add food it's even harder to manage. It may have been helpful if this pan had a 'helper handle' but I'm not even sure that would solve the problem. I am going to return it and hope to find something better.

I have subjected this pan to heavy use for 3 years now, and am happy to report it is still in great shape, including the tephlon. Not sure why the other user has such a disturbing problem, but I will say I have never put this in the dishwasher ever.I'm not saying the other user did, just trying to understand such different user results.

The lid is heavy, but that has never been an issue for me personally. To my mind, the main point of a good lid is that it creates a good seal, which this does.I also like the fact that I can kind of see the food throught the steamed glass to see how things are going without lifting the lid.

I already have the 10" omelet pan and was expecting the same construction with the 12" one. The 12" pan is lighter weight than the 10" and is fine but not as solidly built.

Cuisinart 623-24 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Inch Crepe Pan

Cuisinart 623-24 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Inch Crepe PanThis is a nice heavyweight pan no hot spots at all, so even egg crepes are easy (crepe-thick omelets).

Like most nonstick, it probably won't last long under high heat, but I'm not sure why one of the other reviewers would ever use high heat to make crepes...

It would have been a 5 if Cuisinart had packaged it so that the surface wouldn't scratch during shipping it is sold "open stock", in other words, no packaging except for a paper label.

I have been making crepes for years and this this the first pan I have purchased made specifically for crepes. I love it!!! It's just the perfect size...not too big nor too small. The weight is good and it cooks the crepes with an even browning. I am very happy with my purchase...I spent hours looking for just the right one..and I found it!

When I read non-stick, I always wonder as there seems to be a lot of variance in how non-stick cookware actually is.I compared this with my most non-stick pans which is calphalon unison GLIDE and I would stay they are both equally wonderful in their non-stick feature.this crepe pan is perfectly designed for crepes with its low sides and rounded base.perfectly light-weight and perfect size for burners.I was going to wipe it clean with a wet paper towel but it didn't need it!I would recommend this cuisinart crepe pan to novice or chef alike.

Bodum Chambord 21 by 21 cm, 8.3 by 8.3-Inch Cast Iron Enamel Grill Pan, Black

Bodum Chambord 21 by 21 cm, 8.3 by 8.3-Inch Cast Iron Enamel Grill Pan, Black ()You can't always be traipsing outside to use the grill, unless you live in the right part of the world for it or else have a very sheltered area. I love the way this grill pan brings the grilling indoors. True, it's got a small cooking area (21 centimeters square, just over 8 inches) but that's big enough for two hamburgers or a couple of small steaks or some vegetables. The pan has rather deep ridges, so the food rests above any fat that cooks out of it--and your food is embellished with very pretty grill marks.

This is a product that really begs the reviewer to mention pros and cons, so I will mention the most notable of them, starting with the negatives so I can finish with the good points:

CONS:

* This pan is heavy! Six pounds.

* Comes without a whisper of information on care or use of the product (this is not acceptable).

* The stainless steel handle stays cool and is easy to hold, but it seems to be just a bit loose from the get-go. Anyone have a foot-long screwdriver I can borrow?

* Speaking of the handle, does it have to be QUITE so long? I have room to store it, but do you?

* Takes some soaking and scrubbing to clean.

* The sides are low and there is some spatter, though less than I expected.

* Arrives from Amazon in a carton that's almost as big as a kayak.

PROS:

* It's sturdy; not going to warp or dent or deteriorate. Investment kitchenware.

* It's preseasoned and cooks beautifully with minimal oil.

* Works on any kind of burner (mine is electric).

* I love my black one but it does come in several bright enameled colors too.

* According to the Bodum site, you can put it in your dishwasher (if the handle fits).

* Though the price is steep, it compares favorably to other top-quality brands of cast-iron cookware.

So if you have the muscle, and the space in your kitchen for a specialized item like the Bodum Chambord grill pan, go for it because this is an excellent piece of equipment that you're sure to enjoy using for years and years.

Linda Bulger, 2011

()I love this because most of the grease that used to be on my steaks is now at the bottom of the pan. The only thing that would improve this is if they made a lid for it, because I feel like the grease is floating aroundthe kitchen everytime I cook meat without a lid. It is really well made though and should last a lifetime. Don't drop on your toes or you might break them since this is really heavy! If it wasn't this heavy though, it wouldn't last long. It's really easy to clean too.

Buy Bodum Chambord 21 by 21 cm, 8.3 by 8.3-Inch Cast Iron Enamel Grill Pan, Black Now

()I've never been a big fan of grill pans I've always found that they don't sear well and are generally disappointing when compared to grilling on a real grill. The Bodum Chambord is the first grill pan I've used that works as advertised. The substantial cast-iron build means that once the pan gets hot it retains it's heat so it cooks the food faster, the small size means that it is easy to store in the kitchen and the grilling surface cleans up very easily. I've grilled everything from veggies, to burgers and dogs to sandwiches and they all came out great.

If you've never used a cast iron pan before they take longer to heat up so you have to be patient before you put your food on. The upside to this wait is that the pan also takes longer to cool down. While this pan isn't stuitable as a total relacement for a grill it's a nice option if you just want to grill indoors. I couldn't be happier with this pan.

()I am a vegetarian so I am not cooking steaks or chops on this pan, but I do cook things like veggie burgers and grilled cheeses, etc. I like the pan, although there are two things about it that are somewhat bothersome: you have to be extremely careful to cook your food evenly on it, otherwise the food easily burns and this makes for a difficult clean up. And, speaking of cleanup, the pan is difficult to clean in general, especially when food gets between the grooves; the other night I cooked some sauerkraut next to my veggie burger, and it was a minor nightmare cleaning the sauerkraut remnants later. So as long as you're careful not to let items burn and as long as you're choosy about only cooking items that won't be terribly difficult to clean up after, this is a good pan. I use it often and like it, even though I feel like I have to be especially careful when using it, in a way I wouldn't with another pan.

()I ordered this cast-iron grill pan, because I Love Grilled Peppers.I received a versatile grill pan that cooks evenly and delivers exactly what it's made to deliver: beautifully grilled food.

HERE ARE THE PROS:

1) If you're cooking meat, it keeps it above the oil. And it cooks it evenly, too.

2) The secondary handle makes it easy to lift and drain oil out of the pan.

3) Grilling vegetables is very simple -and they come out looking like I went to the trouble of borrowing my neighbor's barbeque.

4) Clean up is quick, *if* you wash the pan while it's still warm. (Don't allow it to sit with grease on it. No. Do not. It's NOT fun cleaning it cold. I speak from experience.)

5) Makes neat grilled sandwiches; they look " professional and everything." The kids also announced said sandwiches looked Expensive. (I made paninis with sun-dried tomatoes and cheese.)

6) The sides are low enough for easy serving.

7) Good, solid grill pan for the price.

8) At 8.3"x8.3" it's the perfect size for most stove-top grilling.

HERE'S THE CON:

1) This pan is very heavy. I'm disabled, and I must have help lifting and cleaning it if I'm tired and/or in pain.

I LOVE this Bodum Chambord pan! I recommend it without reservation.I cook vegetables three times daily, and it's a pleasure and a joy to have the option of indoor grilling.Just be aware when you order that you're getting the Real Deal -a grill pan designed to last a lifetime.

The temp control never raised the temperature high enough for frying. I could have returned it but it was too big a hassle but I did write the company to let them know. I did not have high expectations at the outset and should have known that the price was too low for the quality I expected. Problem is that few people carry items designed for small households and shopping on the internet is a crap shoot.

Have prepared for long-term use many types of non-stick products. Don't remember any giving up so soon. Used this little, otherwise practical, handy and pleasant pan for frying a cutup slice of spam and then adding eggs ovaeasy mix. The third morning, the egg began sticking to the pan, and it takes awhile for my nylon spatula to gently scrape of the baked-on residue. Not at allwhat one would expect, but still in use.

For the price its a ok product, I needed the size to use for a non-food item, (not a lot of options out there in this size) however its very thin and elements on bottom get hot, so I place a thick piece of tile underneath. and never leave pluged in and walk away. For my purpose it works fine, but need to be attentive while using it for safety

It was larger than I expected and had to send it to a welding shop to have one of the handles removed and smoothed out ($10.00 for that service-not bad and well worth it). It comes pre-seasoned and it perfect on your out door grill and in the kitchen. Perfect for pancakes, grilled sandwiches and quisadillas: especially if you want to make enough of them so all of you can sit down and eat together. The griddles you find on the market are too small and too expensive for the size you are getting. I asked for a two-sided griddle for Christmas, and got this one.I can't comment on how well it works because I plan on returning it.Read the fine print! It's huge (28" long!) and heavy (26 lbs!!)It will only fit across my range (with a huge empty area in the middle between the two burners). Most other griddles, even other cast iron ones, are closer to 20" and 15 or 16 lbs -much more manageable.

All-Clad MC2 Fry Pans

All-Clad Master Chef 2 10-Inch Fry PanAll-Clad pans are always well made, and this pan is no exception. A couple things to keep in mind with this particular pan:

1) Master Chef 2 finish I love the brushed aluminum finish, which should age well, but for now, not everything is available in this finish, though the selection is pretty good.

2) This is an 8" pan, which I find a nice size for a lot of stuff, but it is "small" (of course, there is a 7", if you like tiny pans :^)

3) This is the stainless steel interior, not non-stick. While All-Clad guarantees their non-stick interiors, I love the stainless, no worries about scratching, you can get in there and scrape away when making sauces. But you will want to use a bit of olive oil or other fat whenever cooking; but then again, why wouldn't you.

The ongoing debate over cookware at my house is over: All-Clad is the best cookware overall and is worth the extra money. Our coppers tarnish and require retinning. Our encapsulated disk cookware (Reverer and Farberware) suffer from loose and broken plastic handles and too-small disks which limit the cooking area of the fry pans. The biggest debate was between Calphalon and All-Clad. My wife really liked the lighter weight of Calphalon's anodized aluminum stuff. After living for both for several years, All-Clad has shown its overall superiority in the following ways:

1) Denser anodized finish. The All-Clad LTD finish is much denser and more even that that on Calphalon. This makes it more attractive and easier to clean. On the MC2 stuff the finish is not anodized, but it is tightly frosted and well made. It's quite attractive too. I've started to accumulate MC2 stuff because it's cheaper and performs just as well. The LTD stuff does look better on a rack mixed with Calphalon. It's tough to beat black aesthetically.

2) Greater heat sensitivity. You actually cook with the stove set to a lower temperature with All-Clad. It appears to register changes more quickly. Both types of pan are good in this reguard but the All-Clad is noticeably better.

3) Bend proof aluminum is soft and thinner areas can bend.All-Clad's steel cladding makes it tough as a tank.

4) Immune to interior wear-out.Anodized finishes eventually wear out which on the interior of a pan can be a disaster (this is especially so if you use steel wool). The stainless steel interior of this pan is NEVER going to wear out.

As a fry pan, the All-Clad MC2 12" fry pan hits on all cylinders. It's big enough for a 4 egg omlette, or most of pound of bacon. It's battleship built, well balanced, even heating with great sensitivity. The handle stays cool and is angled so that you can lift the heavy contents without undue strain on your wrist. The MC2 finish is durable and very attractive. You can clean it very effectively with Ajax. The MC2 finish will yellow a bit over time. Real chefs just let it get brown. After using it for months and letting it get nice and brown I tried cleaning it with the 3M scrubby and Ajax/Comet cleanser I use with the LTD finish and it worked like a charm on the MC2. Just make a nice paste and power away the burnt on grease in moments leaving a nice buffy shine. Don't worry about scratches the MC2 finish is a fine patina of minute scratches anyway! It looks great and is basically indestructible.

Buy All-Clad MC2 Fry Pans Now

All Clad make beautifully constructed pans that are built like tanks, and the Master Chef 2 finish ages beautifully. Some folks worry that the brushed aluminum finish will be impossible to clean, but cleans up fine with steel wool, with no worrying about scratching the shiny finish. Best of all, if you don't bother, its still looks great, because the brushed finish looks equally good with a well used patina.

And of course, it performs wonderfully too. The whole pan heats evenly and quickly, the stainless steel holds a fond well for making pan sauces, while cleaning easily when you're finished.

You might also want to check out the lid, which makes this pan even more versatile.

I was a little disappointed when I first opened the box because there were some little grey marks on the rim of the pan but they disappeared completely when I used a little Bon Ami on it. Had to wash the pan anyway before using it. I cooked some fried eggs in it and they were the best I've ever had. Then I cooked some chopped meat in it and the results were wonderful. Very easy to clean, beautiful to look at, and a real pleasure. And I like the handle although some people don't seem to. I am now going to buy another All Clad MC2 pot or pan every month since I can't afford to do it all at once, and then gradually get rid of all my Calphalon non-stick! Better late than never and I am very happy!
