All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan

All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart SaucepanI have read people's comments about the relatively small diameter (6") of All-Clad's 2-quart saucepan.I find that the narrow diameter of this pan maintains a very hot, moist "atmosphere" in the upper region of the inside, even with the lid off.Because of that, the top of the food in the pan benefits from the radiant heat above it as well as from the physical-contact heat of the bottom and sides of the pan, even as you are adding ingredients and stirring, and with little loss of moisture from the food. The narrowness of the top of the pan helps prevent the wafting away of heat and moisture.(Using a long-handled stirring tool helps to protect your fingertips from the steam!)If you find that you are filling this pot with food, you really should transfer the food to a larger pot.In the 2-quart pan, leave enough space above the food for the "head of steam".A truly wonderful design!

I recently purchased the All-Clad 2Qt. Stainless Saucepan. The pan is heavier than most saucepans I have used in the past, but the added length of the handle more than compensates for the additional weight.

I found the pan to be extremely adept.I found that the heat transferred evenly throughout the cooking process. My ingredients did not scald or burn.

I have purchased premium cookware (I thought) in the past, but the All-Clad is by far superior to what I have. This was my first purchase, but not my last.

This is another of the workhorse pans in my kitchen. The AllClad Stainless 2qt pot is marvelous for cooking sauces that will bubble or foam; for sauces involving fruits that may need to boil. The height allows for ingredients to grow, and the small diameter means you are not waiting for items to heat up. The pot heats quickly and evenly.

Try it for cranberry sauce at the holidays, or any small sauces involving milk or cheese. Remember that the pan does not have a great surface area, so timing and delicacy in preparations is key. Leaving the pot unattended on a high heat is not a smart idea. Keeping the pot with a good warmth, slowly working up the heat of your sauce or fruit is one of the best ways to use it.

The only downside of this pot is that yes, it is difficult to pour from, and the small surface area of the pot (=smaller open area) means that ladles are often too unwieldy for it. So be prepared beforehand to know how you're going to get your sauce out of the pot without making much of a mess.

Have fun in your kitchen!

I just discovered All-Clad about six months ago, and ordered two of their less-expensive items.I was so impressed with the quality and the functionality -not to speak of the elegant appearance -that I've gone on to replace almost all of my old (VERY old!!) set of pots and pans.I've kept a few that I find useful -a cast iron griddle, for example -but I've bought a new All-Clad piece or two about once a month, and now have almost everything I need, but not all I want.I LOVE this stuff!!

I had never heard of ALL-CLAD products until my brother-in-law (of all people--he hates to cook) purchased a set of cookware that was on sale. When I saw it in his kitchen, I thought it looked so good, I picked up this saucepan (I'm forever making sauces). It was one of the best purchases, kitchenwise, I'd made in a while. It has the two qualities that all cooks demand: it's easy to clean and it's durable. The lid sits firmly and snugly.

Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set

Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, OrangeI purchased the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Coodware Set in Blue at the end of December 2007. The handles are securely attached. The pans are just the right weight....not too heavy and not too light. The stay cool handles are terrific. The non-stick surface is awesome...the food slides right off. The see-through lids are great so you can keep an eye on whats cooking. It has the look and feel of expensive cookware but is very reasonably priced. The only thing that I didnt know before I purchased this item was that it is not recomended to cook on high with a glass top stove. I guess the enamel can fuse to the cook top. I have a glass top stove and at first I was concerned. I cook with this cookware set on Medium High instead of high. I have not had a problem at all. In fact, I used to burn meals in my old cookware but now that I dont use high heat to cook with I have not burned a single meal!If you are looking for great cookware with outstanding quality then I highly recomend the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set.

******And just to add a note to my original review back in Februay 2008.......I have now owned this set for a little over 2 yrs (its now 2010) and it is still just as great as it was when I first purchased it. I am very careful that I dont use metal utensils with this set. I only use wooden or nylon (plastic) utensils which I think contributes to the long life of any non stick cookwear set.******

######And yet another update.....It has now been 4 yrs since I first purchased this cookware (its now 2012) and it is still like brand new!!! ###########

I was really excited to buy these, loved the color and loved the silicone handles. Unfortunately I have discovered the porcelain enamel rubs right off, even with just plain old water.

I noticed the first week I bought the set that the most of the pans already had minor smudges exposing the metal of the pan under the green paint. Then one day I was toweling off a pan I HAND WASHED and noticed the green enamel rubbed off all over the towel. I simply washed the pans with warm soapy water, nothing harsh.

I am extremely dissappointed with the quality of these pans. It is a great design but they are evidently made with very cheap workmanship.

I have the blue set. This cookware is very affordable for what you get and so nice to use.I love the rubber handles that are angled upward and the see-through lids.My only complaint is that this set is not dishwasher safe.If you run these through the dishwasher, the color will fade.I have not done this because the paperwork included said not to do so, but I have heard complaints of the color fading after cleaning in a dishwasher. This is an excellent beginner cookware set!

I got the green set about a month ago and have experienced NONE of the negative issues others have mentioned.

I use these to cook all of my meals, and am not particularly careful about them... they're pots and pans after all.

I've had no trouble with the color scratching or rubbing off or turning black on the bottom as others have mentioned. They are still in nearly perfect condition. The enamel is just a bit scuffed on the bottom edges of the pan where it rubs up against the grates over my burners, but it's not even noticeable and I expected that.In fact I expected some discoloration from the heat and flames but there's NONE.

My lids fit great and nothing was warped or bent.

The nonstick coating is PHENOMENAL.I typically leave my pots and pans overnight and wash them in the morning or on my lunch, and even the most notorious meals for sticking on like glue and needing a serious soak wipe right off with just a tiny bit of soap and hot water.I've had no scratches or chips of any kind from the nonstick coating.

I know one person complained that they stained the inside of their dishwasher, but it says right in the description, on the box, and in the pamphlet that comes with them that they are not dishwasher safe... so I don't put them in there!

I've used the saute pan and sauce pot in the oven with excellent results and no damage of any kind to either.

I recommend that anyone who DOES have some issues take advantage of the lifetime guarantee! There're bound to be a few mistakes and duds with these as with any mass produced product. No one to blame but yourself if you don't ask for a replacement!

The non stick surface is holding up well, but I swear if I look at one of the pans the wrong way it fades and discolors. I really don't want to get to wordy in this review... just make sure when you hand wash them, then rinse them first with cold or lukewarm water, and then once all the soap is gone you can do a final rinse with hot water. They don't tell you that in the instructions. The discoloration has happened with every liquid dish soap I have tried. Scented or not, gentle on the hands, whatever. One more time, rinse first with cold, when you can't see any soap residue left go ahead and rinse some more, go get a snack, eat dinner or whatever, then you can rinse with hot water.

Cuisinart 630-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 11-Inch Square Griddle

Cuisinart 630-20 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 11-Inch Square GriddleThis is (unfortunately) my second griddle. The Caliphon one I bought origionally turned out to stick like crazy. This was my fault, apparently, since I didin't read the fine print.

This griddle is exceptional. In the first place, it doesn't stick which is a must for a griddle.I am not a "professional" chef/cook so all I care about is a tool that works well without a lot of "preparation" or "conditioning".This griddle heats uniformily, the handle does NOT get hot, and it DOES NOT stick. In addition, you can use metal tools with it without harming it.

Cuisinart got it right with this griddle. One of the "best kept secrets" of the culinary world in my view.

The no-stick surface is wonderful -nothing sticks and it seems harder and more durable than usual; however, it is light and flimsy. The first time I used it, it warped a bit (and I was careful).

I don't think it heats as evenly as my old one.The bacon cooked nicely, but the pancakes were browner in some areas than others.

I'm looking now for a good cast iron or electric griddle.

We purchased a full set of the Cuisinart Quantanium coated cookware (piece at

a time) and noticed that some pieces are thinner than others.

The thicker pieces are nicer and distribute heat better.

This particular piece was too thin and so we returned it.

We like the Quantanium surface because it is strong and easy to clean but

the 11-inch squar griddle warped the first time it was exposed to heat

so it was returned.

Farberware Millennium Nonstick Aluminum Twin Pack 8-Inch and 9-1/2-Inch Skillet

Farberware Millennium Nonstick Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillet Twin Pack, BlackWe purchased the larger Millennium Skillet and have been so pleased with it because the bottom of the pan is HEAVY, so its not prone to warping, especially on our glass-top stove. When we received the these smaller skillets they looked nothing like the Millennium skillet we are using, the bottom does not have the heavy base and they just felt like they would warp the first time and appeared cheaply made. If you are expecting a smaller version of Millennium heavy bottom skillet, these are not for you. Using Amazon's no hassle return process, we've sent these back.

I gave these only two stars due to the flimsiness of the pans they are NOT the old heavy-duty Farberware. One fell to the floor about a five foot drop and dented in the side. I mean a large dent, enough so my existing glass cover would no longer fit on it.I simply took a pair of pliers and bent the side back out that's how cheaply these are made now. I decided to keep them, as they do clean up easily and I already had two glass lids that would fit them, which was the reason for my purchase. These two pans were to replace my heavy old LNT 8 and 9 1/2" pans, from which the teflon finish had finally disappeared after many years of service. However, I don't see these two pans being worth $30, especially if you have a family and plan on giving these a lot of use, which does not apply in my case.

Kitchen World Nonstick Marble Coated Pans (Set of 4)

Kitchen World Nonstick Marble Coated PansWe've thrown out all the teflon because these pans are awesome! They truly are non-stick, and if for some reason there is something leftover in the pan, it literally washes out with just water...you don't even need to use a sponge!Warning, these pans get hot and hold the heat, so cook on lower heat than you normally would. If you are one of those people who cooks everything on high, you will be very disappointed, as your food will be very well done in no time at all.Yes, I am re-learning to cook everything on medium heat. Also, because the pans hold their heat, they continue to cook even after you turn off the stove, so be careful if you are cooking something delicate like eggs to remove them from the pan as soon as they are done or they will be rubbery.I use a few drops of oil for moisture in my food, but it is not necessary.Once you use these pans, there is no going back.LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pans. They are also nice to look at on my pot rack...no more ugly stains on the inside or out, like my stainless steel and other coated pans.

The quality of these pans is excellent, far surpassed my expectations.Thick-walled, comfortable handles...

and best of all, really, honestly non-stick.When they arrived, I decided to give them the true test-rinsed one of the pans, dried it, put it on the gas stove and fried an egg in it-NO oil at all-and the egg slid

out when it was done.Have used them every day since I got them, my old pans went straight to a charity drop box.Cleanup is a snap.Couldn't be happier with this purchase, hoping they hold up as well as I think they will.

Kalorik 1400-Watt Non-Stick Contact Grill and Panini Maker, Black

Kalorik 1400-Watt Non-Stick Contact Grill and Panini Maker, BlackI ordered this for my husband for Christmas, and let him open it a week or so early. He has used it almost every day since opening it.He just loves it.

When he said he wanted a panini press, I asked him which one (I didn't know much about them), and he said it just needed to meet 3 criteria...

1. Adjustable temperature control. This does, so you can choose what temperature you want to cook at.It also has a green light that comes on when it's up to temperature.

2. A floating lid. That way no matter the size of sandwich, burger, whatever, the lid would lie flat and cook the top nicely as well.

3. Grill plates that were NOT removeable. He had heard stories of heating issues with removeable grill plates, and wanted to avoid that. The plates on this one are NOT removeable, but clean up just fine.

This wasn't the most expensive or the cheapest, it met the criteria. It has a decent heft to it (doesn't feel cheap or flimsy)

Like I said, he loves it.He's gotten a LOT of use out of it already. We highly recommend this panini press.

The only improvement that he would like is an on/off switch... instead of plugging it in and it starting to heat up.BUT that's not a real big issue.

I have had this Grill for a few weeks and love it. It grills and melts cheese wonderfully for Panini's and also grill's meat and veggies very well. Easy to change temperature settings and easy clean up. I love how it drains from the side. It also can be laid flat so you can use both parts to cook and you then just have to flip your food. This way if you are Grilling for several people everyone's food can be done at the same time.

Like I said I have had it for a few weeks, used it several times and so far I am very impressed.

I don't usually write reviews, but since there are so few for this product...The Pros: 1) It easily fits three medium sized sandwiches.2) It cools down very quickly which makes cleaning and putting away the product quick and easy. 3) It comes with a handy cleaning tool. 4) It has temperature control and it can lay flat for more grilling surface. 5) It seems to heat very evenly and I have had no issues with the outside of my sandwich being more cooked than the inside. My sandwiches have been perfectly cooked every time.6) The lid seems heavy enough that after applying a little pressure at first, it can continue pressing the sandwich.Based on all of the Pros, I would have given this a 5 Start rating, but the few cons brought it down to a 4 star...The Cons 1) It doesn't get very hot.I have had to use this at MAX temp each time when making sandwiches. The sandwiches come out perfectly, so it's not been a big problem for me, but if you want to use it as an open grill (which I don't) I don't know if even the max temp would be enough to get your food cooked.2) This is minor, I know, but there's no place to wrap the cord that I've found, so it just hangs there when you put it up.3) I find that I have to give the hinged handle a little help sometimes depending on the size and placement of the sandwich in order for it to come down evenly.4) This doesn't bother me, but there's no on/off switch.

Overall, for what I need it to do it does it great. If you want perfectly cooked paninis this will do it. If you want to sear food or use it as an open grill I'd look at something else.

I read reviews before I purchased and many of the concerns other reviewers had weren't issues for me. It gets plenty hot. I don't mind that it doesn't have an on/off switch since I don't leave mine plugged in.The price was good. The surface wiped clean easily (initially anyway).

We have had the grill for 10 months and use it nearly every day.We use it more to cook meat than for sandwiches.I like to cook sausage and bacon on it because it doesn't splatter and create a mess. The "floating" lid makes cooking burgers and chicken breasts easier since it doesn't smash them and contacts evenly. It has some major (in my opinion) drawbacks if the meat produces drippings. There is not near enough angle even with the little feet flipped to encourage good drainage. We ended up raising the back nearly 1/4 in. by adding two layers of cardboard under the back feet. We put one layer under the right side to help. The drain channels aren't really deep enough across the front so even with the back and side raised any crusty bits need to be scraped out or they will stop up the channel. I have never tried to use it open because of this. When you lift the lid, any juice or grease on it simply runs onto the cabinet. The Hamilton Beach we had before had a floating hinge but the lid would hang so the runoff fell on the grill. In the last week, food has started sticking because the non-stick coating is starting to flake off.

If you are looking for a grill for sandwiches and occassional meat this would work fine.If like us you use it daily and mainly for meat I would choose another brand.

Fissler Vitaquick Quattro-Set

Fissler Vitaquick Quattro-SetI received this pressure cooker a a set for Christmas and I'm very impressed with how it works.I've used it for pulled pork, black eyed peas and collards for New Year's and used the smaller, skillet size pressure cooker for making some Yukon gold mashed potatoes (I used a ricer to mash--the cooked potatoes stayed dry since they were in the perforated pan above the water). My next project will be to make beef broth using some roasted bones and beef shanks. This pressure cooker comes up to pressure quickly and it didn't take me long at all to figure out how to keep it at the correct pressure using my gas range. The taste of the food is outstanding--this is the first time that I've made black eyed peas that the flavors I put in the pan actually melded in a very good way (and I do know how to make black eyed peas the Texas way).My last pressure cooker was a "jiggler" Presto and I was comfortable using it as I had grown up with these types of pressure cookers. But when I decided to upgrade, I did a lot of research and decided that the advanced European models were the way to go.I also weighed the Kuhn-Rikon but picked the Fissler as my choice. There were a couple of small things in the Kuhn Rikon reviews that steered me to the Fissler.Yes, they're expensive but I've found over the years that money paid for good equipment is money well spent. The lid is easy to put on and the latch is definite. The cooker is quiet after coming up to pressure although there is a bit of steam that escapes from one of the valves while it is coming up to pressure but once that valve closes the blue/white rings show what pressure you are using and no more steam escapes.Highly recommended.

I make meals with this weekly to make beans, rice, oatmeal, meats and vegetables. I work and have to make meals quickly in the evenings and this allows me to tackle things like making hummus from dry garbanzos an hour after I arrive home. The pressure cooker is very well made and except for the seal which may need a replacement every few years this will last a lifetime.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 5-Quart Saute Pan with CoverI have only Calphalon cookware in my home. Decided to try the tri-ply stainless line for the first time. This saute pan is a great size, weight, and shape for cooking lots of food, and I got a really good sear. However, the pan warped significantly after the first time I used it. I can't believe something with the Calphalon name on it was of such poor quality. This will be returned, and I am considering trying the All-Clad alternative..

I purchased this 5 quart sauce pan and also the 2 1/2 quart sauce pan from the same triply stainless steel line. The 5 quart is thinner than the 2 1/2 quart.and, as an aside, the 2 1/2 quart is perfect. But this 5 quart one does not sit flat, and is somewhat thin, so the cooking is uneven, and cleaning is cumbersome, as some places burn and others do not.note that i followed the cooking instructions from calphalon and still everything cooks unevenly.i had to return it.i normally like calphalon products a lot.

First of all, this is a beautiful piece of cookware. I believe the reviews that have been written are a little misleading. I haven't experienced any food burning or pan warping at all and after several times of usage. The first thing I noticed about this pan is that it heats very quickly -and evenly. Right away I noticed that what I used to saute on medium heat could now be sautéed on low heat. As long as the pan is oiled, there should be no problems with food sticking to the pan either. Also, cleaning has been a breeze. This is a great purchase so far, and I would definitely recommend it. For those who are switching over from using other metal materials, take the time to observe how your purchase is reacting to your stovetop. This pan, and the rest of the Tri Ply line, is wonderful.

One purpose of a sauté pan is searing meat, which turns it brown and gives it excellent flavor via the Maillard reaction. Just read in any cookbook or watch any cooking show episode where there's a recipe that involves this high-heat process, and the standard tool for doing this will be a sauté pan. Not this pan, however. In spite of it being advertised and rated as safe for induction, coiled electric burners, etc., it warped like a fresh 2x4 on a hot summer day when I used it on my coil stove. Adding food made the domed-out warping even worse; the food absorbed heat from the inside surface, causing it to cool and contract while the outside remained hot and expanded. The stove's heat setting goes from low to high on a 0-10 scale, and I used it at 7. The bottom was eventually so round as to make cooking dangerous (and heating uneven). On an electric stove, I wouldn't use this pan except for low to medium-temperature braising.

Want Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Cover Discount?

The pan is an expensive piece of cookware (I paid retail of $150 for mine), but it does not perform up to my high expectations for this pan. It is just okay.

For the price I expected the pan to cook more evenly than it does. It is not bad, but not great.

Also, the pan is heavy...very heavy. Since the handle is round when the pot is full of casserole or meat I worry that it will slip out of my hands while pulling it out of the oven. (Yes this pan is intended to be used on the cooktop and then placed in the oven for the finishing texture.)

Even though this pan is not perfect, I must admit that I use this pan all the time (probablymore than any other pan in my kitchen) since the size is fantastic for so many dishes. It can make spaghetti for 20, a giant casserole, a whole chicken plus veggies, or paella. Everyone who comes to my house comments on how it is the perfect size, but I can't say that I love it, I just like it.

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, Blue

Ecolution Evolve Fry Pan, 11-Inch, BlueSo I was a bit hesitant buying something with zero reviews on Amazon but I'm glad I took the chance and did. All in all this pan has done exactly what it was supposed to. I just made some eggs in it this morning and they peeled off beautifully without a single spot sticking. Make sure to oil it up right when you get it as the instructions suggest. I can't comment for the durability as I've only had it about a week now, but so far so good (I'll update this if it goes to pieces in the near future). I will say, color wise, the blue is really dark and basically looks black so the color aspect isn't as fun as I had hoped for.But if you're in the market for a Teflon-free non stick skillet give this a shot.

Bodum Chambord 21 by 21 cm, 8.3 by 8.3-Inch Cast Iron Enamel Grill Pan, Black

Bodum Chambord 21 by 21 cm, 8.3 by 8.3-Inch Cast Iron Enamel Grill Pan, Black ()You can't always be traipsing outside to use the grill, unless you live in the right part of the world for it or else have a very sheltered area. I love the way this grill pan brings the grilling indoors. True, it's got a small cooking area (21 centimeters square, just over 8 inches) but that's big enough for two hamburgers or a couple of small steaks or some vegetables. The pan has rather deep ridges, so the food rests above any fat that cooks out of it--and your food is embellished with very pretty grill marks.

This is a product that really begs the reviewer to mention pros and cons, so I will mention the most notable of them, starting with the negatives so I can finish with the good points:

CONS:

* This pan is heavy! Six pounds.

* Comes without a whisper of information on care or use of the product (this is not acceptable).

* The stainless steel handle stays cool and is easy to hold, but it seems to be just a bit loose from the get-go. Anyone have a foot-long screwdriver I can borrow?

* Speaking of the handle, does it have to be QUITE so long? I have room to store it, but do you?

* Takes some soaking and scrubbing to clean.

* The sides are low and there is some spatter, though less than I expected.

* Arrives from Amazon in a carton that's almost as big as a kayak.

PROS:

* It's sturdy; not going to warp or dent or deteriorate. Investment kitchenware.

* It's preseasoned and cooks beautifully with minimal oil.

* Works on any kind of burner (mine is electric).

* I love my black one but it does come in several bright enameled colors too.

* According to the Bodum site, you can put it in your dishwasher (if the handle fits).

* Though the price is steep, it compares favorably to other top-quality brands of cast-iron cookware.

So if you have the muscle, and the space in your kitchen for a specialized item like the Bodum Chambord grill pan, go for it because this is an excellent piece of equipment that you're sure to enjoy using for years and years.

()I love this because most of the grease that used to be on my steaks is now at the bottom of the pan. The only thing that would improve this is if they made a lid for it, because I feel like the grease is floating aroundthe kitchen everytime I cook meat without a lid. It is really well made though and should last a lifetime. Don't drop on your toes or you might break them since this is really heavy! If it wasn't this heavy though, it wouldn't last long. It's really easy to clean too.

()I've never been a big fan of grill pans I've always found that they don't sear well and are generally disappointing when compared to grilling on a real grill. The Bodum Chambord is the first grill pan I've used that works as advertised. The substantial cast-iron build means that once the pan gets hot it retains it's heat so it cooks the food faster, the small size means that it is easy to store in the kitchen and the grilling surface cleans up very easily. I've grilled everything from veggies, to burgers and dogs to sandwiches and they all came out great.

If you've never used a cast iron pan before they take longer to heat up so you have to be patient before you put your food on. The upside to this wait is that the pan also takes longer to cool down. While this pan isn't stuitable as a total relacement for a grill it's a nice option if you just want to grill indoors. I couldn't be happier with this pan.

()I am a vegetarian so I am not cooking steaks or chops on this pan, but I do cook things like veggie burgers and grilled cheeses, etc. I like the pan, although there are two things about it that are somewhat bothersome: you have to be extremely careful to cook your food evenly on it, otherwise the food easily burns and this makes for a difficult clean up. And, speaking of cleanup, the pan is difficult to clean in general, especially when food gets between the grooves; the other night I cooked some sauerkraut next to my veggie burger, and it was a minor nightmare cleaning the sauerkraut remnants later. So as long as you're careful not to let items burn and as long as you're choosy about only cooking items that won't be terribly difficult to clean up after, this is a good pan. I use it often and like it, even though I feel like I have to be especially careful when using it, in a way I wouldn't with another pan.

()I ordered this cast-iron grill pan, because I Love Grilled Peppers.I received a versatile grill pan that cooks evenly and delivers exactly what it's made to deliver: beautifully grilled food.

HERE ARE THE PROS:

1) If you're cooking meat, it keeps it above the oil. And it cooks it evenly, too.

2) The secondary handle makes it easy to lift and drain oil out of the pan.

3) Grilling vegetables is very simple -and they come out looking like I went to the trouble of borrowing my neighbor's barbeque.

4) Clean up is quick, *if* you wash the pan while it's still warm. (Don't allow it to sit with grease on it. No. Do not. It's NOT fun cleaning it cold. I speak from experience.)

5) Makes neat grilled sandwiches; they look " professional and everything." The kids also announced said sandwiches looked Expensive. (I made paninis with sun-dried tomatoes and cheese.)

6) The sides are low enough for easy serving.

7) Good, solid grill pan for the price.

8) At 8.3"x8.3" it's the perfect size for most stove-top grilling.

HERE'S THE CON:

1) This pan is very heavy. I'm disabled, and I must have help lifting and cleaning it if I'm tired and/or in pain.

I LOVE this Bodum Chambord pan! I recommend it without reservation.I cook vegetables three times daily, and it's a pleasure and a joy to have the option of indoor grilling.Just be aware when you order that you're getting the Real Deal -a grill pan designed to last a lifetime.

Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring Cup

Clipper 215-00040 4-Cup Measuring CupGood looking 4 cup measuring cup. Exactly as described and pictured. Easy to read measuring lines and looks to suit it's purpose. If using other than in the kitchen, not quite certain how durable it may be if you happen to drop on ceramic or cement floors. Nice silicone handle cover to boot. As long as your careful with handling, I'm certain it will hold up just fine. Description indicates freezer and dishwasher safe but, NON MICROWAVABLE(which isn't indicated). Then again, not quite certain if there may be a plastic measuring cup which would withstand a microwave(If intended for microwave use, a glass measuring cup would be a wiser investment). Measuring points appear to be accurate, if not, as close to accurate as possible. Only time will tell if the measuring points will rub off or not(after repeated washings). Nevertheless, I consider these minor details and not worth knocking off a star for. So, IMO this one gets 5 stars. Certainly well worth the price. It will suit my needs for both liquid and dry measure quite well. Would recommend!

Look better than in picture , for the price, it is a good M-Cup , the sturdy acrylic is slight tinted in blue , looks like a glass , really like it , I got 2 of them because of lower budged at this moment and wow , I like to be surprised like that !

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Spirit Frypan 2pack 8-inch and 10-inch Frypans

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Spirit Frypan 2pack 8-inch and 10-inch FrypansI cook a lot and I don't like to wash dishes.

To me, a great pan conducts heat evenly, can go through the dishwasher and comes out looking like new forever.

I use gas and the heat conductivity is such that I have to be careful, so watch your stuff, it will burn if you use the settings you used on your old pans.

I bought the 8, 10 and 12 inch size., Made crepes in the 8 inch pan yesterday, latkes in the 12 inch pan the other day and I brown thick rib eye steaks on top of the stove and finish them in the oven at 425 for a few minutes. They work like a charm.

These pans heat evenly and so far are very non-stick. The handles stay reasonably comfortable to the touch when the pan is heated. They also clean up very easily. All in all these were a worthwhile purchase.

I am very happy with this purchase of the two non-stick Thermolon frying pans. They work as advertised, and my foods really do not stick to them, including fried or scrambled eggs.I can totally recommend these pans!

Pans work well, and food does not stick ! Easily wiped clean. Love them !

Wish I had more just like these two.

Update: We have used these pans for a while now and I am still amazed at how easy they clean.

Just remember: They require less heat than what you might be used to using in the past. And no hot-spots at all !

Continental Electric 1100-Watt Singler Burner

Continental Electric 1100-Watt Singler BurnerI've owned two of these that were sold under the Walmart house brand. They don't last long (between 1-2 years) but they were cheap when Walmart sold them (less than $10).After a year's use they look like crap (you can't remove the burner to clean the top.All brands seem to be that way) so I didn't feel too badly about them dying and having to throw them away. Now that Walmart doesn't sell them the price seems to have creeped up to about 2 times as much.I just ordered another and I'm not going to be as OK to have it die in a year, since now it's about twice as much $! Nevertheless, while they work, they work good.I liked the way it heats up very quickly and cools down pretty quickly, too.It gets red hot and will stay hot.It is also able to be set on a very low warming temp. One odd thing I noticed, but I'll bet it's true of all brands of hotplates...if it's in a very cold room (winter in Florida...45*)...even if the hot plate is set to "Off," it will come on!I discovered this when some plastic plates I left sitting on top of it were melted. One morning very early, I saw it turn on, too.So watch out for that little issue with any hot plate.

I just bought a Sylvania 1,000 watt hot plate, but I don't like it.It's too slow.It cycles off too much and it's white so it'll get nasty looking quickly.I decided to get another Continental and relegate the Sylvania to an outdoor kitchen area that's less used.I also have an Aroma hot plate that's 800 watts.I don't care for it at all.It takes way too long to get hot and then way to long to get cool.It has the solid steel burner instead of the coil type....too much mass. It's ok for something that you want to cook for 25 minutes or more as it will maintain a pretty even heat. But it's too time consuming for quick cooking--stir-fry and the like, which is mostly what I do.

One more note about the Continental... This time when it died I took it apart (easy) to find out why it broke.Where the elec. wire attaches to the burner it's just a cheap little quick connect. It seems to have gradually sizzled itself into oblivion.I think it could be fixed by soldering the wire directly to the burner, but I haven't tried it yet.If that works, I'll keep it as a back-up.

Oct. 1, 2011: I've been using the new hotplate for four months and don't like it as well as the one that died. When turned on high, the new one cycles off too much, so it takes a lot longer to boil water. I guess it's "hit or miss" getting one that always cooks good and fast.

This is a good burner.I use it for my flower pot smoker (thanks Alton Brown).Other burners didn't have enough wattage to heat up to 225+F.This one fits the bill perfectly!

I purchased this burner for my kithenette thinking that the high wattage would mean that is would heat up quicker and make cooking faster than other burners. Unfortunately the burner keeps turning on and off and takes about 10 minutes to boil a small pot of water and won't allow for continuous boiling. I think I have to return it but I may try one more to see if the product is just faulty.

It automatically turns off after 11 minutes when cooking at high temp, so you will not able to boil a good amount of water or cook with cookers.

The auto protection system is really anoying. It's difficult to make a hotpot dinner with this burner! Is there anyway to change the protection system?

The burner will stop heating within 2 minutes, and will start again after about 1 minute. weir

Browne Foodservice 573712 Thermalloy Cast Iron Fry Pan with Ergonomic Handle, 12-Inch

Browne Foodservice 573712 Thermalloy Cast Iron Fry Pan with Ergonomic Handle, 12-InchThe skillet is heavy and well-casted.It has broad pour spouts which are more realistic than the tiny pour spouts on similar sized skillets. The thickness and shape of the handle has no rival in today's cast iron skillet market.Even the old masters Wagner and Griswold didn't do nearly as good a job with their handles. It makes all the difference. With a substantial, well-formed handle, you can more easily pick-up and maneuver a heavier skillet. I've owned my skillet for about a year and it is now virtually non-stick.Why did I not give this product 5 stars? The pig iron used may not be of the highest quality and/or consistency. That said however, this is a most used skillet in my kitchen.

George Foreman SK0010B SkilLite Digital Searing Skillet with Sear Setting and Grease Channel

George Foreman SK0010B SkilLite Digital Searing Skillet with Sear Setting and Grease ChannelThis skillet is large enough to accomodate the average family without any problem. We love the ability to sear the meat and then cook it more slowly to preserve the flavor. The grease channel is a suburb feature whether you want to save the grease or throw it away. The main thing is that you're not adding a lot of fat calories. This is a great skillet for any family who cooks and likes to keep their meals fat free.

Got this for my wife and she's used it almost every night for the past 2 weeks to cook everything from breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns) to dinner (hamburgers, chicken, potatoes, stir-fry). She's actually using it right now to cook up some chicken and veggies and it smells awesome!

I highly recommend this skillet. It's large enough for our family of 4, easy to clean, and the grease channel is a nice touch, too! Just push whatever you don't want into it. I'm writing the review, but my wife is the one raving about this skillet. Hey, if my wife is happy, then I am happy. :)

We use a skillet at least 3 or 4 times a week and the last one from Walmart lasted two years before it burned out.Hope this lasts longer. We don't use much oil (we use a Mr Misto to spray olive oil) so the grease trough isn't a big thing for us, but I can see that being popular for those who fry.

This one really cleans up nice too.

I would buy & recommend it.
