Lodge Logic LGSK3 Guitar Mini Skillet, Black, 10.75-inch

Lodge Logic LGSK3 Guitar Mini Skillet, Black, 10.75-inchUpdate! It appears Amazon or the vendor has updated the product listing to demonstrate that this is a spoon rest rather than a full sized skillet.

The description of this product is misleading...it is NOT a skillet but instead, might be useful as a spoon rest...assuming your are not using a very large cooking spoon. It's small...very small. It would make a cute wall decoration but forget using it as a skillet of any type. Frankly, given the size, it's not even that appropriate as a spoon rest since the shape omits use of larger spoons due to the upper curvature. Cute idea...if it were MUCH MUCH larger. Don't be mislead by the description. I've contacted Amazon Customer Service to see if it can be updated as this makes a fairly expensive and somewhat inadequate spoon rest and a completely dismal "skillet".

I bought this as a gift knowing it would be the size of a spoon rest.If you understand that up front, you'll be happy.Same Lodge quality you expect, just not a particularly functional size.Judging from the large number of reviewers who were disappointed with the size, maybe Lodge should start manufacturing a pan for all of us who'd love guitar shaped cornbread.

I bought two just for decoration in kitchen . I might use them for cooking but I have a lot of Lodge cast iron so I probably won't . It is heavy duty cast iron at a reasonable price. I recommend this and any Lodge cast iron product. Quicker to order through Amazon than throughthe Lodge website. Prices about the same. Amazon shipping is cheaper!

No-one seems to have read the product details section, that clearly states the dimensions of the item...Yes it's way to small to cook in, and the other description stating "SPOON REST" you all seem to just focus on skillet and "ready to use" which is a little misleading, but come-on take some responsibility here. i found out by reading NOT ordering first.

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch Skillet

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch SkilletUnfortunately this item was returned due to the poor workmanship. I debated whether to keep it or not since it is only around $10 with free shipping piggybacked with another item I ordered, but the flaws were just too obvious to ignore, and I know I will not feel good about using it. There were many sharp unfinished edges from the casting and a few rusty patches on the cooking surfaces as well. The posted picture with this item does not seem to adequately show its true design and dimensions. On the top of the list, the handle is also annoyingly too short, making it really awkward to use. A better made and designed version is available CostPlus for 5.99 at their retail store.

I was hoping for a pan in which I could make an over-easy egg for breakfast but the bottom of the pan is so rough that when you remove the egg, there are small black pieces on the egg.I didn't want to get my iron for the day by eating fragments from a cast iron pan. I have seasoned the pan over and over and nothing changes.

When I ordered this product I didn't realize how small this is.I can only scramble about one egg on it.However, for the price you can't beat a real cast iron pan.I use this almost daily and so far there is no sign of any wear and tear on it.

Heuck Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware 2-Piece Skillet SetItems look much bigger in photo. It's the 6 1/2 & 8 inch skillets. I was afraid of that due to the lack of information on the description. O now have to buy a bigger skillet to complete my set, or return and get the 3 piece set.

Horrible!! The inside have what appears to be air bubbles. Also there was some sort of glue splashed on the pans. I had a gut feeling about this purchase. I'm returning these immediately and Purchasing Lodge brand. Lesson learned "ALWAY BUY PRODUCTS MADE IN THE USA"!!!

Farberware Classic 17-Piece Cookware Set

Farberware Classic 17-Piece Cookware SetI had put these on my wish list as a future splurge and was surprised and pleased when my hubbie bought them for me for my birthday last month! (LOVE that other folks can see my wish list!)I have owned Farberware before, but, only one or two pans...after twenty years or so, a handle had loosened, a pan lid was missing, etc. but they were still going strong!I don't think you can get a better quality of cookware at this price!(I had looked at other brands of aluminum clad stainless steel cookware and found they were HUNDREDS of dollars!)I have a ceramic cooktop and have found that many of the pots and pans I've tried have warped immediately and were instantly useless on the ceramic top (where things have to be perfectly flat to work). Not so with these pots and pans! They stay flat and heat up quickly. This set has a nice variety of sizes (my only complaint is that it doesn't contain a 6 quart stock pot). The lids fit well and the pots and pans have wonderful rings on the handles that allow hanging on any pot rack! The skillets are small, but, really good (the non-stick surface is thick and the pans heat up well and clean up easily). The set also came with three stainless bowls with plastic covers (perfect for chilling cookie dough), also with rings for hanging.I am pleasantly surprised as well by the baking pan.I usually use glass, but, my lemon bars baked up very nicely in this pan.The cookie sheet, though extremely small, is also impressive. It doesn't warp under high heat and I have used it for making garlic toast and as a pan under pies and breads with no problem. In fact, I plan to put Farberware cookie sheets on my wish list next!If you a looking to replace pots and pans, or, want to give someone you love a much appreciated gift that will last for years and years, I recommend this wonderful set!

Seems to be a good product but we do have a older set and the new set is not as well made as the older set. The metal is thinner , the lids are cheaply made and the handles are just plain plastic. Time will tell if they will hold up or not. The old set needs a couple of handles replaced and I was informed by Farberware that there no longer are handles available for the old set and when I inquired about handles for the new set I was told there are not any replacement handles available. Am already disappointed as I know the handles on the new set will not hold up well.

Just like Grandma used to have!

Yes these pots and pans have been slightly updated from their older version, but they still function and clean up just as well. I purchased these because my Grandmother had a set of them my whole life and they were always dependable, and seemingly indestructible. I say indestructible because I have managed to destroy many non stick pots: scratching the coat off and melting the coat of non stick yuckynessand that literally stinks horribly and ruins the meal and the pot! The Farberware pots and pans are heavy duty, stainless steel, and best of allthere's no non stick coating on the pots to ruin if you leave your beans unattended (in my case cleaning house) with the fire up a tad too high. The lids are not glass, they are also stainless steel. So no dropping lids and stressing the glass which in turn eventually break. These stainless steel lids sit nicely on the pots, the bell shape keeps the moisture in the pot and when the lid is removed the bell shape actually helps with not dripping the condensation on the lid all over the stove.

This Farberware Classic Stainless Steel set is perfect for any cook of any age. For young cooks who are learning, for cooks who try to fold the laundry while the beans have 2 minutes left, for cooks who are a little clumsy and drop their kitchenware, and even the older much more experienced cooks who just want a good high quality classic cookware set. Regardless of the age or expertise, this set is hands down the best that is out there for anyone! And I must addI searched everywhere including macy's, sears, walmart, target, and tons of places online. This was the only set I ever saw that was a great brand, that had stainless steel lids, and sturdy design. After moving out on my own I have ruined 3 sets of nonstick pots. I laugh now because now that I have this set, it will never happen again. The Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 17-Piece Cookware Set is the best cookware set on the market today!

Anolon Advanced Nonstick Fry Pan

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch SkilletI am a semi-professional chef, cooking a variety of gourmet meals at least 4 nights a week, so having the right kitchen pans is vitally important. I found this little Analon quite by accident, and now use it virtually every day for sauces, for single omelettes, and for anything that doesn't require a lot of volume/space. Non-stick works just as advertised, so you can't go wrong. I now own 3 of them, and they get used all the time.

I don't like non-stick.It's not as versatile as good 3-ply stainless steel and it doesn't last anywhere near as long. That said, I do like egg dishes and in the summer I like dishes w/ a lighter mouth-feel (not as much oil). So I set out for the best non-stick pan.

I got a 12-inch pan because I've had 10 inch and 8 inch pans in the past and they get crowded very easily. Secondly, I wanted a pan w/ a riveted handle and a decent high temp oven performance. Also, I believe the true mark of a nonstick pan is the 'flip' performance-so, NO HELPER HANDLE IS THE WAY TO GO! That's just my opinion. I eventually narrowed by search to 3 brands: Caphalon, All Clad, and Analon.Caphalon because they had some interesting non-stick options, All Clad because it's just the best, and Analon because I currently use their stainless set and for the last 2 years I've been very happy.

So All Clad was knocked out of contention quickly for the simple reason that ALL NON-STICK PANS DEGRADE over time. And from what I've read, their best non-stick pan will loose it's luster in about 2 years. That's not to say that I think the pan would be completely crap after 2 years-just that i think the degradation curve would start to accelerate into the replacement zone. So why pay $130-190 for a pan over two years when you could use 2 average non-stick pans at the same price over two years and have more 'quality' non-stick time to boot?

With All Clad out of the way I turned my attention to Caphalon. I still didn't want a 'cheap' pan though... just not ridiculously over-priced one (although I would love to replace my analon ss set w/ an all-clad one in about 5 more years-saving those pennies...).Caphalon has 'professional', 'commercial', 'contemporary', and 'one' series pans. Professional pan reviews peg it as a loser. 'One' series pans are just a bad idea all around... why would anyone want a pan that's permanently sorta-non-stick-but-not-really? 'Contemporary' pissed me off (yes I was actually offended) with it's strange 'bulge flare' near the rim-you really have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. So I considered the commercial series.

Anolon was my last consideration. I looked at their titanium series in the past, but ultimately went with the SS set (glad I did). I was very concerned about the silicon handles. Mainly because it's a limiter to broiling temps, but I gotta say I've been pleasantly surprised. They do add a very good handling feel to the cookware and the silicon hasn't discoloured or peeled or scraped off anywhere.I totally expected the silicon to wear out and it hasn't.Also, their metal ply is just as even and weighted as the all clad stuff.Same thickness, very similar shape, and from the durability I've experienced I'd be surprised if all-clad is really all that much better... but from the looks of it I would have to comment on that about 7 years into ownership. So I was definitely going to consider Anolon.

Went to the store, felt the surface of the commercial caphalon and it was ROUGH. I know it's commercial and they say you can use metal utensils, but something is just counter-intuitive about a 'rough' non-stick surface. It was priced at $50. Then I checked the Anolon Advanced pan. Nice and smooth. Also it had the same handle as my Anolon SS set and the capholon had one of those slightly loose, thick silicon handle... uhhh... condoms. Also the packaging on the commercial pan is sparse-consisting of a strip of cardboard w/ logo and writing and the sides of the pan exposed to the elements. When they ship them they're stacked on top of each other and the Anodized aluminum bottom from one pan constantly rubs the top rim of the pan below.I couldn't find a single pan out of the 8 on the racks, that didn't have scuffing around the rim from distributor shipping.Needless to say the Caphalon Commercial pan was OUT and the individually completely boxed, wrapped in plastic, suspended in a cardboard brace Anolon Advance pan won the day.

I was very curios about this Dupont Autograph 2 thing. Aparently the Non-stick is on the inside of the pan and seamlessly wraps over the edge and all the way down the outside until the very bottom of the pan where the Anodized Aluminum bottom makes contact w/ the burner. I don't know if it actually does anything functional, but it's VERY easy to clean. I guess maybe it keeps food from 'catching' around the rim when stirring vigorously or 'flipping' veggies in a sauté. So far the non-stick surface is PERFECT.About 20 seconds of soap, sponge, and hot water is all that is need to clean inside and out (thank you to the wrap-around nonstick surface). It has a very good weight so the heat distribution is great even around the sides.I've become accustomed to 'flipping' with my stainless pans so when I first tried it with this pan I accidentally sky-rocketed the veggies into the ventilation hood.As with temperature and handling with all new pans, it's good to keep in mind 'baby-steps'.

This 8" open skillet is heavier than the 'commercial' Calphalon 12" covered pan, 10" open crepe pan and 2 1/2 Qt covered sauce pan (made in China).(It would be nice if Amazon identified the country of origin of all its cookware.)The easy-grip handle is great.I have ordered 2 more as gifts.Every kitchen should have at least 2 of these!

My wife and I received the pans in this set for our wedding over 3 years ago. They have been excellent despite very heavy use from us.The non-stick still doesn't stick and there is almost no discoloration. They are very easy to clean because the entire pan is non-stick, not just the inside. The silicon on the handle does an excellent job of protecting your hand from being burnt even at high temperatures.

The only problem we've had is that on a few of the pans the silicon part of the handle came loose.I submitted a request to their customer service department on the web and had brand new pans within a week at no cost to me.

Chantal 10-Inch Copper Fusion Fry Pan

Chantal 10-Inch Copper Fusion Fry Pan, Chili RedI bought a GE induction range & wanted something a little lighter than my cast iron cookware, so I bought this as a test for Chantal's Copper Fusion cookware. Overall, I am pleased. Many previous reviewers were unhappy with the non-stick coating. I have not had the same negative experience. I pre-coat the pan with a cooking oil spray each time I use it. When done, eggs will pour right out of the pan. A valid criticism in previous reviews is the pan size. I have a Calphalon 10" tri-ply stainless steel fry pan. The Calphalon pan top rim i.d. measures 10", while the Chantal pan measures 9-1/2". The Calphalon pan bottom cooking surface diameter measures about 8", while the Chantal pan measures about 7-1/2". I have not yet found a cooking lid that properly fits the Chantal pan. I used an infrared temperature sensor to measure the temperature on various points of the pan's cooking surface. There was a difference of only about 20 degrees F between the center & outside rim of the cooking surface. This was a lower variance than the Calphalon pan, which registered cooking surface outside rim variation of between 20 & 50 degrees from the center. The Chantal pan is heavier than the corresponding Calphalon pan but, with all the enamel, I expected that to be the case. Although the Copper Fusion line is a little pricey, I will probably purchase additional Copper Fusion cookware based upon the performance of this pan.

It is heavy, pretty and best of all, non-stick as long as you cook properly. I used it make pancake, stir fry meat or vegi dishes, scramble eggs (of course you should add oil and a little water), etc, and it never had a problem. Its handle is very comfortable to hold; it stands out easily in my kitchen and already replaces several other pans that I owned. Strongly recommend it. It is your wise investment.

This pan was supposed to be a healthier and revolutionary version of non-stick pans which often release chemicals into the food as they break down. It has been recommended by several well respected chefs.I have now used this pan for a month and followed the directions diligently.Yet every single time the food has stuck somewhere on the bottom of the pan whether its an omelette or a pan roasted fish.Chantal Copper Fusion10 Inch Fry Pan, Chili Red The worst part is that it is difficult to clean the particles off even with a hot water and soap soaking. The coating on the pan was supposed to make this simple. It did not.I am still waiting for the company to respond to my email since they do not have any "live" person to talk to the customer. A big disappointment that was also not cheap.

10-Inch Natural Finish Aluminum Frying Pan, Fry Pan, Commercial Grade - NSF Certified

10-Inch Natural Finish Aluminum Frying Pan, Fry Pan, Commercial Grade - NSF CertifiedThis review is in response to the one written by DC discussing the dangers of using aluminum. While there is some truth to what he says, aluminum can be used; just use a little common sense.Aluminum should not be used on a daily basis. It should also not be used with acid foods, such as tomatoes, vinegar, citrus, etc.Aluminum is a great choice for many reasons; it is a good conductor, it doesn't stick like stainless steel, and if it has a metal handle, as this product does, the dish can be "finished off" in the oven, a technique that restaurants employ all the time.In addition, if DC feels so strongly about this, I sure hope he doesn't eat out much.Almost all restaurants routinely use aluminum frying pans, stock pots and other cookware as well.Relax, it's okay, using your common sense!

A $17 pan like this sells for $170 with the Julia Child imprimatur. Quality is standard, but what a bargain!

It could be improved only by better salesmanship. Show us more photo angles on the web page, and tell us that it is great for omelettes.

I work as a baker in a fully functioning kitchen, so I am well versed with the use of NSF frying pans.Yes, they do their job just fine.I personally like teflon pans much better, especially for electric ranges like I have at my apartment, but this $17 aluminum pan works fine once you get used to cooking on a non-teflon pan.

My main reason for not getting a nice frying pan is due to roommates that will no doubt destroy a $75 frying pan in a few months.

If you need a cheap frying pan, pick one of these up!Also pick up some STEEL SCRUBBERS and PAN SPRAY!!!

On a side not, who cares if a bit of aluminum is ingested, there are so many sources of toxins in our modern day living, you are only going to shorten your life by stressing over it.

Happy cooking yall!

RE: Straight to the point! Look up Heavy Metal Poisoning, including Aluminum Toxicity

This goes for all Aluminum cookware all across the board on NOT just Amazon but all over the internet. I just decided to look this up on my favorite etailer just to see if it were being sold on Amazon after reading the dangerous side effects of Heavy Metal poisoning

People on ships died from Heavy Metal poisoning in the past from lead, mercury, etc Need I say anymore. These short term to long term side effects is no joke!

Concerned Citizen Response:

I'Ll tell you what buddy, everybody does have a choice on whether of not aluminum toxicity will affect them or not:

Common Sensical Review from a hobby chef and MBA:

With questionable long term effects of Aspertame/Nutrasweet [and I am a health freak, MMA guy, Diet Coke® fiend] one can only weigh in on the manufacturer's , Monsanto's, intentions of valuing profit versus social responsibility within this multi-billion dollar beverage industry...

Don't get me wrong here, the human body should assimilate to every mineral and element as known throughout time but why overload on any possible toxicity with minimal or even full awareness on the impact on the human body?

Great wormanship and top notch build quality I rate that ***** 5 stars

Questionable choice on materials = I rate that * 1 star [rhetorical question is there u zero rating?]

"Paranoid" Review:

Even though I'm capitalist-minded and want all companies to succeed, I personally would stay the hell away from any cookware made from Aluminum, especially when you're cooking for children or the elderly.

Aluminum is for cars like Cadillac or Audi, not for human consumption that can leach onto every food that you cook!

Hopefully the manufacturers will come up with viable alternative to aluminum cookware after an enough movement makes it aware to the public.

Questions drive the content of the debate:

Why is it after an independent research company finds fault with an item, there's usually a quick "independent" research response to it???

Mirro 10Pc Cookset

My only regret was that I did not purchase more sets to give as gifts. The glass lids are great, the color is very modern and attractive. The quality of the silicone handles is a plus. Great Deal!

This cookware set is an excellent buy for the price. It is very well made, sturdy, the color is great and the clear lids for the pots are a definate plus. Although the large pot lid is not interchangeable with the 10 inch skillet, I would still recommend this product.

I normally don't write reviews for products on Amazon, but this one was bad enough that I want to make sure no one else suffers the same.

I bought this set in Aug 2009 and used them occasionally, around twice a week, primarily the saucepans. After a few months, I noticed some chipping of the teflon coating. This was very surprising given how little I used them, and how I always used soft utensils while cooking. As of last week, Mar 2010, I had to throw the entire set away since these "chips" have become huge tears in the teflon up to 1-inch in diameter that reveal the aluminum underneath.

I only purchased this set because I had good experience with Mirro products in the past, and ironically, the one saucepan I have left from that last (good) set still has its teflon coating intact.Mirro product quality must have gone through some significant drop since then.

DO NOT purchase this product!

After the very first use--the very first--the teflon coating is already peeling off exposing the steel below it. I made pasta in the pot and used a SOFT plastic spatula to gently stir it. After that there were already two spots where the coating had come completely off. Now I have used it about 5 times total and the coating looks like it has been scraped with a metal spatula hundreds of times. And no, I did not put it in the dishwasher. Not even once. I used a very soft plastic spatula and did not stir hard. I've had far better quality from an $7.99 pot purchased at a discount store. I seriously don't understand how the quality could be so poor and this company is still in business. Avoid this unless you want to eat teflon flakes with your pasta.

Berndes Tradition 9-1/2-Inch Glass Lid

Berndes Tradition 9-1/2-Inch Glass LidI actually bought this lid for use with another brand of cookware. It's perfect pyrex glass, stainless steel screw holding the knob on, and a brass screw-socket in the plastic knob to keep the knob from loosening. (But don't put a metal screw in the microwave...)

Berndes pans are European/centimeter sized, so this lid isn't really 9-1/2 inches, it's really 24 cm.I bought it for my Mauviel 6 quart stew-pan, and it also fits really well on my 9.5 inch (also really 24 centimeter) Sitram skillet.

Their lids have a plastic handle. And they melt, totally, if(foolishly) used in the microwave. And the whole thing then comes apart. Now I have to hope to find a replacement part. They are not constructed securely to begin with.....

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10132 Fajita Plate Set with Wood Tray and Hot Mit, 15 1/4 Inch x 7 1/4 In

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10132 Fajita Plate Set with Wood Tray and Hot Mit, 15 1/4 Inch x 7 1/4 InchI ordered four skillets mainly for use in making sizzling steaks hot off the grill.Skillets are of great quality, but the wood bases are not.One of the bases was split in two during shipping (we fixed it with wood glue). It isn't surprising since the non-broken bases we received could have easily been cracked in half by hand.

Kitchen, Fajita Plate Serving Set / B001AT5CGM

We actually bought these fajita plate sets in order to serve hot apple pie "restaurant style" hot and sizzling on the skillet, with bubbling butter and rapidly melting ice cream...yum!

These plates aren't particularly large if you wanted to serve a large fajita fixings spread, I'm not certain that you wouldn't want to use two, but then I'm used to the huge restaurant portions and these are probably adequate for home cooking. The cast iron is very solid and sturdy and conducts heat well; and I can testify that they hold up to the occasional dishwasher washing because I tend to toss everything in the dishwasher even when I'm not supposed to.

The wooden bases are, however, really...cheap. Like another reviewer, one of my two wooden bases cracked cleanly in two during shipping and I had to order a replacement from Amazon (a painless process, but it would have been annoying if we'd needed the plates right away for an immediate dinner party or something). So far, the wooden bases haven't cracked from home use, but we've been very careful because the wood just doesn't seem like a high quality. The bases are thick enough it's just that one can't help but feel that my boyfriend could crack them in half without much exertion. Along the same vein, the hot mitts that come with this are a nice touch but they don't stay attractive for very long I think the seams will unravel soon on one of them and we haven't even used them that much.

So, all in all, I recommend these plates for occasional use but if you're planning on daily or even weekly regular use, you might want to opt up for something nicer, because you are definitely getting what you pay here for with this skillet. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think that most of the cast iron fajita plates are just about the same, they may even be made by the same manufacturer. This plate did not disappoint.I first tried it with fajitas and it worked as expected.I cooked all of the meat (marinated skirt steak), onions and bell peppers in my large sauté pan and then transferred it to this plate. The reason that these plates are traditionally used is that cast iron retains heat and your fajita stuffings stay hot throughout the meal.I have a clay holder for my tortillas so each fajita is warm and tasty.

I really expect to use these more for meat entrées rather than fajitas. When I host a dinner party I have noticed that my guests usually eat much slower than usual, mostly because they are engaging in conversation and just enjoying themselves. However, as the cook it drives me a little nuts.I want people to eat what I spent a lot of time and effort to make while it is hot. Now!Of course I can't tell them to shut up and eat so I plan on using a cast iron serving plate that will keep everything nice and warm for the whole meal.

I cooked a rather nice 8 oz. filet mignon (covered in Bearnaise sauce) for myself along with a sautéed mushroom melody, grilled asparagus, and a twice baked potato (I know, a typical "guy" dish.)I placed the potato in a small, oval cast iron serving dish and the steak, asparagus, and mushrooms on the fajita plate (they were just a little bit crowded.)The sizzle of the grilled filet hitting that heated plate was wonderful and impressive.I cooked the steak just a little rarer than usual in order to let the plate continue to cook it.I poured the sauce on the steak and then walked away from it for 15 minutes (this was SO hard to do.)When I came back to it the food was still hot and desirable. The Bearnaise sauce that hit the plate was a little burned but the asparagus, mushrooms, and steak were perfect.

The hot mitt was fine for moving the plate around once it is on the table, but I wouldn't recommend it for bringing the plate off of the stove to the table, it's just not padded enough. I will be using plates like these for fajitas and steaks as well as certain fish and poultry dishes.Although my set arrived with an unbroken tray, I can see that it will not hold up to much use.I could easily snap it in half with my bare hands if I wanted to.I plan on buying a full set of them, but I will spend more money and get a plate with a better wood tray.

These kept food sizzling hot right through the meal.Just throw the cast iron on the grill while everything else is cooking.Easy to clean with a nylon brush and hot water...DONT USE SOAP!The only minor downside was the wooden trays can scratch the table. I lightly sanded mine and use placemats to avoid any marring.

Excellent product, exactly what I expected.

When the temperature reachs, fry the meat and place the onions and peppers, stir a bit and ready.

The sound, when he takes the plate to the table, the full flavor of the fajita.

IMCG 3-Pack Bakeware + Microwave + Fry Pan Liner SetThe teflon liners make nasty, sticky messes into something cleanable without scrubbing.Use them on baking pans, roasters, skillets or any pan which leaves a big mess. When the cooking is done they clean off immediately in your dish water.I wouldn't cook without them.

WearEver A8279784 Cook and Strain Nonstick Stainless Steel Handle Red Metallic Exterior 3.3-Quart Jumbo Cooker Fry Pan with Glass Lid Cookware, RedThe skillet works great but beware that it is NOT T-fal as advertised. Have been using it for a month or so as of now and the paint has started to peel around the draining spouts. I recommend looking for a better quality item than this one.

I have bought two of these skillets and I love them.Love love the strainer option.Love the deep deep sides. The paint did come off a little on the rim after much cooking but hay its a skillet. The teflon coating has lasted very well.Love the plain handle so I can but in oven to continue baking option.

I was hesitant to buy a pan that I had not seen first, as this was a gift for my mother. However, it appears very well crafted, and in wonderful condition. I have not used the pan yet, however, so we will see how well it holds up.

Paula Deen Signature Stainless Steel 4-Quart Fryer with Basket and Lid

Paula Deen Signature Stainless Steel 4-Quart Fryer with Basket and LidI purchased a basic starter set of the Paula Deen Stainless, Copper Bottom cookware set. The pans cook evenly, clean easily and look attractive so, I bought several other pieces for the set, including this deep fryer. The copper bottom distributes the heat evenly which is important for cooking, especially in a deep fryer. This fryer is also the perfect size. The only issue when you use the pan, the copper color changes. So, to get the shine back, you need to buy a copper cleaner to restore the shine.

This pot was wonderful. They do not make this quality anymore and anyone who is wondering about it, you won't be dissapointed!

Bought this for my daughter as a gift for Christmas.

She loves it.... She already had one Paula Dean pot and was very happy with the quality.

This pan isnt just a deep fryer but can be used as just a pan also.

Happy that I got it for her...

I finally got a deep fryer to make fish in and I am so happy. The only thing is I wish that it came with a thermometer because it takes the oil so long to heat up. (I'm using peanut oil like it suggested.) Other than that I love it. And btw, I did what it told me to do, as far as soaking the copper bottom in water and baking soda before using, and it still discolored when put on the fire. I'm not hanging it on display, so it doesn't matter to me anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

I've only used my pot once since I got I received it and that one time the pot did it's work nicely. It is heavy duty without being too heavy. I would recommend it to my friends and relatives.

Thunder Group 8 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry Pan

Thunder Group 8 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry PanI bought these pans a couple months ago and very pleased with them. The teflon coating is excellent and they are easy to clean. The only downside is that the handle is aluminum and you have to wrap a pot holder around it since the handle heats up. I will buy more when needed.

This pan, and its companions, are restaurant-grade sautee pans with a very sturdy aluminum handle and slick, non-stick cooking surface. The bottoms are flat, heavy aluminum for even heat distribution.I added some rubber insulating grips for the two pans I purchased (8" and 11") but they are not really necessary in a commercial kitchen where everyone uses some type of favored insulating device from potholders to gloves, to dish rags.

Arguably, these are probably the best frying pans for the money.Don't waste your money on "brand names" and "endorsed-by" cooking stuff. All you get for your double, triple (or more) price is a thinner wallet.Restaurants do NOT use such overpriced stuff because they don't work any better.I've seen similar pans with brand-names sell for more than $150 and they cook no better than this pan.Stick with the simple things in cooking. The 8" model (the one of this review) cooks a marvelous omelet! The larger, 11" pan, which I also purchased, is perfect for larger dishes.Have you watched a TV cooking show where the chef "tosses" the contents of the pan to mix and flip them?Because of the taper at the rim of these pans, YOU can do just that with little practice.Impress your friends and family with your new show-stopping skill of showman-cooking!Many pans for sale here, and virtually ALL of the expensive pans, do NOT have this taper. This makes it more difficult to flip your dishes.

I guarantee that you'll love these pans.If memory serves me, I paid only $6 for this pan.

And yes, I am a former chef. But I am not Anthony Bourdain I don't consume prodigious amounts of alcohol. And I am not nearly so skilled as Tony. But I continue to cook for my family and friends and use this type of pan almost exclusively. They last several years easily. And at $6, you can replace them when needed. My last 8" pan lasted 7 years.

Kinetic Classicor Series 4.4-Quart Tapered Chicken Fryer Pan with High Dome Window Lid

Kinetic Classicor Series 4.4-Quart Tapered Chicken Fryer Pan with High Dome Window LidI bought this pan specifically to use as my designated popcorn pan because of its depth and domed cover. For popcorn, a vented lid allows steam to escape and prevents the popcorn from becoming soggy.I am usinga T-Fal 11" vented lid. So far this has been an excellent pan for popcorn. It holds 3/4 cup of popcorn and when popped fills the pan completely, when using the aforementioned lid. It has a large flat bottom, and an aluminum base to distribute heat evenly.

I have not used the domed cover / lid but like the fact that it has a glass insert allowing sight in to the pan while cooking.I have not used this pan to cook a chicken so I am not able to attest to its use in that regard. I would be concerned about cooking anything in the pan that is heavy as the stainless steel seems a bit thin and the handle is attached with spot welds instead of rivets. There seems to be a significant amount of flexing between the handle and the side of the pan where it is attached.I noticed this when washing it. Only time will tell if the spot welds will hold. But for popcorn, I expect it to serve me well for a long time.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 11-Inch Square GriddleIt's heavy and dead-flat.What can you say about a griddle except that it does exactly what you wish a griddle would do.There are no hot-spots, and the handle stays cool.(The Calphalon Contemporary handles are big, and may get in the way occasionally -but they stay very cool.)

One thing, though -the non-stick surface is *really* non stick.Make an omlette and it'll spread over just about the whole bottom of the pan in no-time-flat -which is just great, so long as you like really thin omlettes.Over-easy eggs can be a bit tricky because it's so slippery -it's not that easy to get the spatula underneath! (Part of that's because plastic and coated spatulas are thicker than metal ones.)One time I almost pushed an egg right off the griddle and onto the stovetop. But anyone who's ever had something stick to a griddle will not complain that nothing can stick.

Cleanup is strange. It just doesn't get dirty.I've only had this awhile, but I've used it twenty times, and the nonstick is not only still in perfect condition, it doesn't even show the "bright spots" that, with high-quality non-stick cookware, indicates some mechanical burnishing.I think this will last forever.

I have a cheap griddle same size, and now have this Calphalon one. BIG difference. Much better heat distribution, better teflon = easier clean. Handy for bacon (may need to pour of drippings if a lot of bacon), grilled sandwiches, pancakes, eggs.

I purchased this griddle In August of 2006 and use it every Sunday. There is aloti like about the pan, but one huge problem is it warped. I know you are not suppose to put a hot pan in cool water because that will cause this to happen, but I did not do that. I have a smooth glass top surface to my stove so a warped pan is not good. I do have to say the heat still conducts though the pan to give me even cooking thoughout.

I received a set of the Calphalon Contemporary as a gift and the only thing I felt I was missing was a griddle, so I had to order this one from Amazon. This griddle pan has been wonderful.I use it for everything! Most times, I just wash it and put it right back on the stove since I know I'll be needing it again right away.I can fit 6-8 pieces of bacon on it at a time, 4 pieces of toast, or 4 rather large pancakes. It's a dream come true if you fix breakfast often. It's the best money I've spent in my kitchen and I would highly recommend it!

I had an inexpensive square teflon griddle which performed adequately but began to deteriorate from surface wear. I elected to go with the Calphalon brand as I owned other Calphalon pieces which perform quite well. I was glad the company included specific use and care instructions as they educated me in keeping this pan from wearing in the same way as the previous one.If the directions are precisely followed, this pan should last a lifetime. It heats evenly, cooks perfectly (as long as the proper cooking techniques are used) and cleans up good as new. As suggested NEVER use cooking sprays, use medium to medium high heat, and ONLY clean with warm soapy water AFTER the pan has completely cooled. Using the butter test (heat 1 teaspoon real butter in the pan,if it burns, reduce heat and retest until slow bubbly unburnt butter is the result) works very well. Your pan will be ready to cook when the butter tests correctly. You can wipe the butter away if you do not wish to cook with butter, but the test works. All in all, this product delivers.
