OXO Good Grips Chop and Pour Cutting Board

OXO Good Grips Chop and Pour Cutting Board ()OXO Good Grips nifty Chop and Pour board is a handy little board to have around the kitchen.I didn't think that the curved sides and corner "spout" would make much of a difference (I actually thought that the raised sides might get in the way) but they really are great features!Only two sides of the board have a curved lip to keep food from sliding off the other two sides have non-slip edges to keep the board from sliding around on your counter while you are working. The curved edges are a big help when you are trying to push chopped veggies (or whatever) off the board into a pan (or whatever) everything goes where it should. The 13.5" x 10.5" size is good for most kitchen jobs, and it fits easily in the dishwasher (it says "top rack only" on the instructions, but I've been putting it on the bottom of my Miele dishwasher with no problems or damage).I'll definitely get more of these!

()If I had seen this cutting board in person, I would not have chosen this specific board. It is just too small for the types of jobs I expect from a cutting board. That doesn't mean the board is bad, just that I need a larger board.

I had seen a segment of America's Test Kitchen on television and an OXO Good Grips board similar to this one had been the winner of their cutting board comparison test between wood, glass, and non-porous boards. The OXO won because of the material on the edges which made it non-slip on the counter top, ease of cleanup and resistance to odor retention. Those are all things important to me also. For this specific board, the dimensions provided by the manufacturer show it to be 13.5" wide x 10.5" deep.In actuality you have to take away one full inch from each of those measurements to allow for the "walls" on two sides which keep food from falling off the board and for the narrow non-slip edges on two sides.

The board was very stable on my counter top (engineered quartz) and did not slip around at all.Because there is something on each of the edges I was forced to do all my cutting and chopping in one specific area of the board, therefore all the knife marks are in that one area and I think will become a problem as I use the product for an extended length of time.As a matter of fact, I wonder if I will feel comfortable using this board for very long because those knife grooves will just get deeper and more numerous. If you are only going to cut up a very few items, perhaps this board will be adequate for you.I found it to be simply too small.I wanted to cut two onions, two green peppers, several cloves of garlic, and several smoked sausage links.I could only do half that amount at one time; two onions, the garlic, and one pepper, then the second pepper and the sausage. All my other cutting boards would have accommodated the full amounts easily. And there are other OXO cutting boards which would have easily held all that prepped food, they just would not have the "contain" and "pour" features.

So this board comes down to how much food you like to prep at one time and how you want to convey that food to the cooking pan.The good things for me were the non-slip feature and that I could push the chopped food up all the way to the edges of the board but keep it contained on the board. The disadvantages were the small cutting surface and the concentration of knife marks all located in one place on the board.I like that I can put this board in my dishwasher, top rack only, and will certainly do that.Maybe just make sure I take the board out before the diswasher goes into the heated drying cycle.I don't want to take a chance with that rubber-like non-slip edge being damaged by heat.

()There's a debate over whether plastic or wooden cutting boards are safer, bacteria-wise.If you've decided on the plastic side, this looks like a good board.

Easy to manipulate has a nice feel and there's two "grippy" sides. The shape works it IS easy to dump chopped up stuff into the pot.

I hacked it a few times with a big knife. That left tiny TINY marks in the board.Looks normal enough for this kind of board.Almost invisible and shouldn't be hard to clean. *** update 3/15/2013 *** Be CAREFUL when you slice!I sliced toast with a serrated blade and it gouged the heck out of the surface. The board is still useable and still cleans well enough but it would be a mess if enough of those gouges built up.Slice only with a plain blade.

The product info says "Juice grooves on one side retain liquids ...".I've got no idea what they're talking about!I put some water on the board and there's nothing that's going to keep it from pouring off a corner. Two of the sides have raised edges but any liquid that makes it that far will keep going until it makes it to an open corner.

The non-slip bottom is VERY non-slip.

Two of the edges have grabby plastic. It's molded very well into the polypropylene board but you can feel the gap.Keep it clean for that's a prime spot for bacterial growth.

Speaking of clean, polypropylene is not anti-bacterial but it does not promote their growth either. It doesn't absorb water and is easy to dry off.It can take high heat (over 300f) so feel free to dump boiling water on it.5% bleach would be a good idea after cutting meat!

()This cutting board weighs a bit over a pound.I was really intrigued because while I normally just use flat clear flexible cutting mats instead of cutting boards, I always am looking for a good board to use when I can tons of tomatoes every year. The fact that this let you pour and had a lip was really intriguing to me.While it will be better for my problematic task than the clear mats, it's still not a perfect design as juice will still run all off the sides and front.Of course I can understand this it makes it a lot easier to cut if there and pick up.

Works great for vegetables like onions, peppers, celery the usual, and normal amounts of tomatoes. It's a bit heavy when you pick it upit shouldn't be an issue for most people but very elderly people or people with strength issues might prefer something lighter like the flat mats.I notice this because I'm recovering from a torn rotator cuff and movements with a pound like this would have been hard for me when that was an issue.

It does mark up easily (like most boards do!) so expect to see slice marks soon after you get it.It's dishwasher safe and fits in the dishwasher easily.

I'm always bad to use my cutting board on the stove. I know you shouldn't do that, but I do catch myself doing it anyway. This board is tall enough to give you generous cutting room, but I'm going to have to watch the end for a hot eyeI won't be able to just trim this like I can flexible mats.

Where it's better than flexible mats is it's easier to wash in the dishwasher, it's got a great grip and is easy to pick up, and I do like the lips on the side and top. It's much more hygenic than a wood board, and since it has GREEN on the grips, it will be easy to remember it's for veggies only.(Since I don't like to use my veggie boards for meats.)

()When I saw this chop and pour board, I thought it would be an ideal addition to my kitchen utensils.

The first time it was used was to chop mushrooms for a pasta meal.

Some of the features that I appreciate and found useful:

-the corner spout helps guide foot into pots and pans

-lightweight for moving food to pan or board

-the non-slip edges keep the Board from slipping

-soft, tapered grip makes lifting easy

-able to clean in the dishwasher since it is top-rack dishwasher safe.

The Board is a good size but not too big, at 13.5 long by 10.5 down.

I'm very happy with this product. I did try the bottom-rack of the dishwasher and it was fine.

Aluminum Fry Pan with SteelCoat x3 Non-Stick Interior & TriVent Silicone Handle

Vollrath 67608 10-Gauge Aluminum Wear-Ever Fry Pan with SteelCoat x3 Interior and TriVent Silicone Handle, 8-InchI purchased one of these Vollrath frying pans at a local retail store. The pan did fine for a while, but then the non-stick coating began coming off the center part of the pan. We only used plastic and wooden utensils with this pan, so it is not our fault the coating is coming off. Vollrath only warrants their pans for 90 days, so I am just out of luck.I wish I had bought a $10 pan from Walmart rather than this one. I hope you have better luck than I did with this rather pricy piece of cookware.

We have had this pan for a couple years and, while at first intimidating in size, has been the workhorse of my kitchen! No more cooking in batches! This is an amazing pan as it is great on my gas top stove and in the oven. It also fits (with some finagling) into my dishwasher!Love it.The Teflon is wearing off now but I am amazed it lasted as well as it did!I am co the plating a higher priced one in hopes that the Teflon will last longer or to just go with a regular non-Teflon pan. Or, I may just buy this one again. Love it so much!

Simply Calphalon SA8785HP Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot

Simply Calphalon SA8785HP Nonstick 5-Quart Chili PotI think Calphalon has missed a bet in attaching the label "chili" to this versatile pot, because it suggests that its best use is limited to making chili. But mine is well-loved and used almost daily for cooking virtually everything -chili, yes, but also soup, sauteed fresh veggies, simmer-all-day pasta sauce, pot roast, ETC.I also use it when I need a high-sided skillet. The heating is very even, making it a lovely choice for carmelizing onions and other vegetables, as well as meat. I love this pot so much that I have given a number of them as gifts.

Calphalon calls another pan, sort of a flat-bottomed wok, its "everyday pan."I have that one, too, but it has drifted to the bottom of the stack because I DON'T use it everyday. They should have applied that label to this pot instead instead of the "chili" label.

We've owned this pot for a little over a year now. The non-stick coating works VERY well, making cleanup a cinch! Also, it's the perfect size for cooking dinner for our family of four.

The one problem we've had with it is the durability of the non-stick coating. We first noticed some of the coating flaking off a few months back. Since then, the flaking has accelerated to the point that we're not using the pot anymore. We have always used wooden or plastic spoons with it, so we don't believe it is a result of neglectful use.

After years of everyday use, I wore out my Calphalon 8785 pot despite my best efforts, the interior became scratched, and the exterior lost its anodized look. I'll keep it for backup, but it is officially retired.

I prefer the steel lid of the old pot because the handle is part of the lid; the new pot affixes the handle to the glass lid with big rivets. Structurally sound, no doubt, but a weak spot.

I don't see any real benefit to a glass lid; I don't watch the food cook, and if I do, I'm busy stirring a roux or sautéing, so the lid is off. Not a selling point for me.

Functionally, the pots are similar. The non-stick surface releases foods, but I cannot use metal utensils to stir or scrape. I use olive wood utensils out of habit, but the other members of my family are not always so conscientious.

The price is right, and this is a fine product. I have no idea why it is labeled "chili pot" it is too small for chili made in my kitchen.

I look forward to another decade of daily use with my new Calphalon pan.

Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Saute with Helper and Cover

Cuisinart MCP33-30HN MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute with Helper and CoverI'm a fan of multiclad cookware, the kind that takes heat conductive aluminum and surrounds it with easy to maintain stainless steel. Professional cooks swear by it, but I'm just a home cook, and didn't even know about until a few years ago while watching America's Test Kitchen. This popular PBS series tests kitchenware, and reports their recommendations via their TV show, as well as 2 different magazines they publish. All-Clad cookware has always ranked up there as the best, but at a high price!

Fortunately for us middle class working stiffs, other cookware manufactures have picked up on the multiclad concept and have been producing their own versions. Enter Cuisinart's MultiClad Pro line.

This particular item takes all the benefits of multiclad and gives us a reasonably priced alternative. Compared to the All Clad Stainless Steel 3-Quart Saute Pan with Lid, which is 1/2 quart smaller and at a price tag of almost $100, you are getting a real bargain here.

This saute pan is beautiful, with stunning luster, and solidly constructed. It goes from oven to table with no problems, and looks stunning. The lid fits nicely, and the curved lip allows for pouring that resists clinging to the side of the pot. It's very very easy to maintain. Personally, I hand wash all my high end cookware, so I cannot comment on whether it's dishwasher safe. If you do hand wash (and you should....just sayin'), use Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a non abrasive sponge to keep that amazing shine.

I give the product 5 stars, for it's durability, construction, looks, and ease of cleaning. I love this Cuisinart Line and highly recommend it.

I spent more hours than I want to admit researching and choosing pots and pans. I ordered several different sets including Cuisinart's Chef's Classic 7-piece set and the MultiClad Pro 7-piece set. I ended up returning both and purchased individual pots. If you purchase Multiclad pots individually, you don't end up paying too much more than a full set would cost, but you can choose the exact pans you want. I purchased a 10" saute pan, 1.5qt sauce pan, and 4qt sauce pan and I use every pan almost every day. If I bought the 7or 12-piece set, I'd save some money per pan, but many of the pans (8qt stockpot, for example) would sit idle.

I really liked the idea of getting a saute pan because it holds way more food and is more versatile. I can cook for 2-5 people with the same pan, whereas the 10" frying pan that comes with the 7-piece set can barely make enough for 3 people.

It cooks very evenly and like others have said, can be made non-stick with the right preparation. Simply warm up the pan first, then add oil, and once that is nice and hot, add your foods. I made the best crepes I've ever made in this pan with no sticking at all!

The look and feel of the pan is also excellent. It's heavy and high-quality, but not too heavy. Also, the brushed stailess exterior with the mirror-finish rim is so sexy, if a pan can be called sexy. I like these so much that I always want to clean them up and they make me happy every time I see them!

Get this, it's highly recommended! It's too bad it costs as much as the 5 1/2 quart saute pan :(

I have used non-stick pans forever AND have replaced said pans over and over as they end up scratching.I decided to change to stainless steel for health and safety reason as well as a more permanent cookware.I did my research and Cuisinart came out on top, which is why I chose this brand. Also, as I wanted to be able to actually lift the pan, I decided on this 3 1/2 size.I am happy and satisfied and would highly recommend as a high quality cookware.Be prepared to use a little care.. but worth it

ExcelSteel 12 Inch super lightweight cast iron frypan

ExcelSteel 12 Inch super lightweight cast iron frypanI am very happy with this pan. It's practically non-stick if treated properly. It cooks evenly, heats quickly and is large enough for stir fry. I highly recommend this especially for the price. It's also very light for a cast iron pan. The handle is also great as it's the only cast iron I have that where the handle doesn't get too hot to handle.

I've had a ExcelSteel fry pan for over 2 years. These are a great alternative to traditional cast iron cookware. They weight about 50% less.I find them to be the best answer for safe, high temp frying. Many of the poor reviews here seem to be lack of experience with cast iron.Yes, you need to season the pan. Yes, you need to clean it after use or it will rust in the sink. Yes, it is not true non-stick at low temperatures. But, like a good, seasoned, cast iron pan, this fried better than anything I have found.AND its one of the most safe fry pans on the market. The latest gov't reports on Teflon and related non-stick cookware are disturbing. With very little proper maintenance this pan will last a lifetime.

We bought a 12 super lightweight cast iron fry pan a few weeks ago. I was trying to get away from coated non-stick pans. I weighed the pan and it was about the same weight as my 12" Cuisinart non-stick pan. That is the good part. On the down side, the center of the pan is higher than the edges. If you put some oil in the pan, the oil forms a 1 1/2" wide ring around the center but it is not too deep. Even that is not so bad, the real bad part is that the center gets hot, and the edges are not nearly as hot (this area is about 1 1/2", the same width as the low spot). We cooked some bacon strips that were cut in half, so they were about 4 1/2" long. They were arranged so that some were in the middle of the pan, and some around the edge. The bacon in the middle cooked fairly rapidly, the ones on the edge did not cook well. We had to constantly move the edge bacon to the middle. The size of the hot spot was about the same as the burner diameter, so it appears that the heat does not travel well beyond the center. We have had no problem with the "black coating" coming off, but have only used the pan a few times. Each time only the center heated. Would not recommend this pan!

Helping handle is good. You need it.These seem to rust faster than the older type if you spill any water on them. They are lighter than the older type but not by much.Still pretty heavy.Don't get one for Grandma unless she's a body builder.I can't tell that they cook any more evenly than other pans I have.I still get spot burning with these.A disappointment but it's still healthier than other metals.

I owned a cast-iron skillet years ago, and never could get it properly seasoned. That, coupled with the weight, meant it was destined for the trash heap. After a long time of wanting a replacement, I finally purchased this one, and couldn't be happier.I was worried about the advertised "light weight," thinking it might not be proper cast iron, but don't worry...it is.It comes pre-seasoned, and from the first use, it has been perfectly non-stick and REALLY easy to clean. It is light, also, which is great. It cleans very easily with hot water and brush, and all I do is rub a little vegetable oil in the pan with a paper towel, and then store it away.Couldn't be easier, and works great.Highly recommend it.

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer SetThis was the 2nd choice of America's Test Kitchen. The first choice was about $350.I am very pleased with this steamer.I have used it to cook mustard greens, boil corn on the cob, and cook down apples for apple butter. It is well-made with a heavy bottom. It stays shiny like new, cleans up easily, and is so useful for larger cooking needs.Since buying this I have also purchased a complete set of pots by Cuisinart.Very good quality cookware.

We decided on the pot after wanting either All Clad or Le Cruset for a long time. But the cost for those brands is so high we decided to look at other brands. We looked at Calphalon, Analon, Cuisinart and JC Penny's house brand. After weighing all the prices and quality the decision to buy this pot seemed like a good one. Now we have used this pot 15-20 times we think it is an even better value. It is a great product. Heating is even and fast, things stay warm for a long time and cleanup is a snap. Of course if you want something you can throw in the dishwasher buy something else other than stainless. To keep these in tip shop shape they need to be hand washed, but it is definitely worth it.

I bought this to replace an older smaller pasta cooker.I have about 20 pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware but couldn't justify spending over $100 for a large stockpot. The only notable difference is that the Multiclad has the sandwiched aluminum all the way up the sides of the pot.Not really necessary I thought for something I would use mostly for boiling water.Besides, the heat source is only really from below and that extra multiclad surface only adds to the weight.

I love the shiney exterior and the large capacity compared to my previous pasta pot. The steamer insert is a nice little extra but I'm not sure I'd want to haul out this enormous pot just to steam a few veggies. The lid is more domed than Cuisinart's standard lids and has a more sculpted handle.Cleanup is easy but only if you have a very large sink. The handles on both the pot and insert are solid and appear to be very securely attached.

So what's not to like?

This pot was a lot bigger than I anticipated. So large in fact that it doesn't fit in my normal cookware drawer.I ended up having to divide the pot from the insert just so it would fit in the cabinets. And that domed lid just adds to the height. The insert didn't need to stick out of the pot as far as it does and the handles on the insert come out further than those on the pot itself.Where the pot will barely fit, the insert won't just because of the handles. The other problem with the height of this pot comes when you try to use it on your stove.I nearly have to stick my head under the fan hood to see inside it!

The inside of both the pasta insert and the steamer basket won't drain completely. There are no drain holes along the bottom outer edges so the water continues to drip after removing it from the pot whenever it's tilted.I'm also not sure why they made the outsides of the insert and steam basket so shiny but made the insides brushed. This is almost the opposite of their fry pans.A shiny smooth inside would have made cleanup easier without the use of Teflon.

It would have received 5 stars except for these minor issues.

Amazon's size specs are off, so I took out my ruler and this is what I discovered:

The cladded base of the pot is 9.5 inches diameter, the interior space on the pot is about 10 or 10.5 inches diameter, and then the lips flare out a little bit near the stop (for easier pouring without drips) to 11 inches diameter.

The pot is about 9 inches tall, plus another 2 inches or so for the pasta insert, plus another few millimeters for the steamer insert lip, and then the lid and lid's handle adds another 1.5-2 inches or so.The total height is thus roughly 13 inches.

I own a lot of Cuisinart MultiClad Pro and Tramontina TriPlyClad, among other pieces, and I like this stockpot. For boiling water, you don't really need the extra weight and expense of cladded aluminum running up the sides, as the water itself will be the thermal conduit, through convection.

Big thumbs up for having holes on both the bottom AND the sides of the steamer insert. This design is harder to clog up than steamer inserts with only bottom holes.

Yes the size is inconvenient (would be better if it were shorter and fatter), but if you can deal with it, this is a great multi-pot.

I am from the south of India where we make all our fish curries in clay pots , so I was thrilled to find one here on amazon.com. Clay pots back home last several years so not knowing how to use one with care was not the issue. Lookswise this clay pan is spectacular but after about 10 uses it developed a thin hairline crack and now I am planning to use it as a flower pot. What a pity !

Hamilton Beach 94302 Signature 10 Inch Skillet, Stainless Steel

Hamilton Beach 94302 Signature 10 Inch Skillet, Stainless SteelWe decided to switch from non-stick cookware to stainless steel because we didn't like using toxic non-stick coating. Additionally, our child was diagnosed with gluten sensitivities and stainless cookware is easier to clean (scratches in coating on other cookware can hide food particles). If you are not accustomed to using stainless cookware, you need to do some research! For starters, ONLY use medium to medium-high heat (never high heat). On my glass top stovetop, my gauge reads 1 through 10, and I typically use 4, 5, or 6 when cooking with stainless.

* This pan heats evenly and food cooks fast.

* Easy to elean.

* The glass lid from Hamilton Beach's 5-qt. Stainless Steel Dutch Oven fits this pan perfectly (I bought them together in a store).

* I always use metal utensils with my stainless pots & pans. No scratches.

* Bottom of this pan reads dishwasher, gas, and electric safe.

* Made for Hamilton Beach by Kitchen Collection. Made in China.

* I love the flared edge (curved) so I can pour a meal out onto plates or serving dish easily.

* Comfortable handle doesn't get hot.

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C942SA64 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 10-Piece Cookware Set, Black ()Previously, I've owned the New T-fal D913SC64 Signature Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set by T-fal, which I loved.I expected to feel the same way about this T-fal set.I was especially excited to try the square grill pan.

I seasoned the pans as directed, then I used the square grill pan for frying up some pork chops (something my other set of T-fal excels at).I couldn't believe how badly those chops stuck to the pan!Even after soaking the pan in hot, soapy water for an hour, I still had to use a lot of elbow grease to get it clean! It wasn't a matter of cooking it wrong either...The first time, I cooked them exactly the same as I do with my other pans. The second time, I used a much lower temperature (thinking that I may have accidentally cooked at too high a temperature the first time).Even using the lowest temperature, the chops still stuck!

After a little research, I think I've figured out why.T-fal has two different manufacturers produce their pans.My previous set (the D913SC64) is made in France. This Jamie Oliver set is made in China, and it shows.T-fal, I'm disappointed.

()The only thing "unique" about this set is the Thermo-Spot heat indicator, which lets you know when your pan is heated up by turning solid red. That's a fine feature, though I don't find it terribly important-how hard is it to just wait a minute? I guess if you're in a rush and need to know right away, it's cool.

But I have several issues with this set:

1. NOT dishwasher safe. The manual says all their other sets are dishwasher safe, EXCEPT the hard anodized exterior sets. This is not made clear on the packaging.

2. Nonstick doesn't work well. Like another reviewer, I first tried cooking eggs in the small pan. They stuck like crazy! It specifically tells you not to use cooking spray or oil because it can mess up the pans, but there's no way I could go without it. I even took a photo because I couldn't believe what a mess it was to get these eggs out of the pan. I've had much better nonstick pans before.

3. Thinner than I'm used to. The pots and pans are weighty-they don't feel cheap-but they must be thinner or more conductive on the bottom than my usual pans because I had major trouble cooking pancakes... I have a gas range, and even on a low setting, the pancakes burned on the outside very fast, yet were liquid on the inside. Even after several rounds, I couldn't get the pancakes to cook right. I'll keep trying with thinner pancakes and an even lower setting.

5. Cannot be used under the broiler because of the rubberized handles.

6. The "large" saute pan is really just medium-sized... that's the one I used for pancakes, and I could really just cook one large pancake at a time. It would not suffice for a real dinner for more than one person. You'd still need to buy a separate large saute pan for everyday use.

It's an attractive set, it feels good in the hand, and it's nice to have three lids with the set, but I can't recommend it in good conscience because of the above issues.

()Some of the reviews so far have not been particularly favorable, and I understand the concerns of those folk.Nonetheless, I've been thoroughly delighted with the set, which is impressive in appearance, has a decent, if not "Calphalonic" weight to each of the pieces, and stack easily in a small space (I have them on the top rack of a smallish baker's rack).

The pans conduct heat nicely and (surprisingly) evenly.I have not had any of the issues others have mentioned with things like releasing an egg from the pan, though I must admit, I use a bit of butter (always) and not cooking sprays (ever) for my eggs (or anything else personal preference).I live alone, but entertain frequently and I've had no issue with the size of the pans, though I tend to make multiple courses of smaller amounts.

The only issue I've had with this set is that I generally make my sauces in a skillet (rather than a saucepan) and the shallowness of the pans makes serving the sauce directly from the pan a bit clumsy and unnecessarily messy and when eating alone, don't feel I should have to pour the sauce from a pan into a serving vessel merely to get it onto my plate.A quick wipe up of the stove and that's remedied, but a bit more depth to the skillets would have been nice.Perhaps in the next incarnation with the next celebrity chef!

()I received far more than I expected and am so delighted about this T-fal Set.At first glance I thought this is just another set of cookware and began reading the instructions.Do this and do that so you can begin using this pot or skillet. No bid deal but a bit more work than most new sets require.I started with a small sauce pan and worked my way up to the big pot along with the skillets and honestly this is one fine set no matter how you might want to classify it.

Put the raw food in, cook for a while and it's over.Clean up is a white tornado of speed. The pots and all are lightweight and tough. The little center Thermo-heat spot is there and it appears to be effective but I am too much of a novice to be an expert. The sauce pans heat quickly but when using they do not scorch nor burn the contents.Being able to see the food cook with the glass tops is another plus and makes the process just that much more enjoyable. After using all pieces I have had zero defects or problems and highly recommend this set for the amateur or the professional.

I was looking for an Anodized set because of what people say about it (twice as strong as stainless steel, professional look, etc) and I went to the stores to find myself one but they were very expensive. I could not believe I found this set on Amazon at this price. I have had T-fal product before and the non-stick is great. And I also love Jamie Oliver and what he stands for so I thought the combination of both T-fal and Jamie would be a winner.

No doubt about it, this set is awesome.

The non-stick inside is second to none and nothing sticks and sooooo easy to clean.

The outside is very pretty and should last me a lifetime.

The handles are made of a soft rubbery material like silicone so they are super comfortable to grip and it also means your pans can go in the oven at a higher temperature than my old pans with plastic handles.

The 2 fry pans and the grill pan have the red dot in the middle which tells you when your pan is at the right temperature to start cooking. I had never really used it on my old T-fal pans but I thought I would give it a shot with these new ones. It actually does make a difference. If you heat your pan (with no oil) until the dot turns solid red and then you pour in a little bit of oil your food will actually take less time to cook and will cook at the right temperature. It's a cool little feature I will be using more often.

Overall.......... a great set of pots and pans and it has all the pieces you really need to do most of your regular everyday cooking at home. The beautiful grill pan is a plus. Such a nice pan.

Revere Try-Ply Bottom 1-Quart Saucepan with Lid, Stainless Steel

Revere Try-Ply Bottom 1-Quart Saucepan with Lid, Stainless SteelWe've been looking for this item for quite some time.We had a set of these Revere pans but wanted an extra sauce pan.The size is perfect for everything from sauces to canned vegetables and sometimes having two would be a lifesaver. But we were unable to find the pan without buying the entire set again anywhere but here. The pans are wonderful and we'd be lost without them.

There have been some people who didn't like the newer Revere cookware. So far I've had no problems with my cookware at all.

I do wait until it has cooled off a lot before washing it in the sink after using it on the stove.Maybe that's what keeps mine from warping like others said theirs has done.

April 6th, 2011:

Wanted to update my review.

I've had my set for a couple of years now, and I still do not have any problems, issues, etc., with my Revere cookware set.I let the cookware cool off itself while I eat after cooking with it.Never put a hot frying pan, sauce pan, etc., in cold/cool water no matter who the manufacturer was.

That's not good for anything like that.

This item replaces a similar sized Revere Ware Saucepan. I got one for myself and one for my mother. This little pan is perfect for cooking small portions and heats very evenly and quickly. I picked Amazon to purchase this item because their shipping to Alaska isn't outrageous compared to other vendors. Bon Appetite!

Bought 2 of these on the strengh of a revere 1 quart pan I have had since the late 60's. After less than a year later I junked both of them. Impossible to clean starchy residue and then the bottom started to show black spots which I assume was the core layer. How ever the lids held up nicely.

A solid one quart sauce pan for boiling eggs. A heavy steel bottom, comfortable handle. It's not copper clad, so it makes for easier cleaning. It should last a lifetime if you take care of it.

T-fal Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Hard Enamel 8-Quart Stock Pot with Glass Lid Cookware

T-fal Simply Delicioso C1078064 Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Hard Enamel 8-Quart Stock Pot with Glass Lid Cookware, RedThis is a great piece of cookware. It's excellent quality, dishwasher safe, and large enough to cook extra of anything. I am so happy I found it at Amazon and loved the price, too. [Edit 2/22/13] I saw some critical reviews due to this being "tall & skinny". I find that to be a plus. I can use this 8-qt with my 12-qt on burners that are adjacent. I wasn't able to do that before. Despite appearances, 8-qts is 8-qts and the pot will hold....8 qts. This is perfect for soups, stews, or anything else you want to make a big amount of. True, a turkey wont fit but don't you need a roaster for that?

I do love my t-fal pot ,however the pot is tall and skinny so as a short person its hard for me to see in the pot. I love the quality of t-fal.

This is a great pot. the only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the vent hole. I would prefer the option to have it opened or closed, but it's just a hole. A skewer stick does the trick for me regarding closing it. Other then that it's a good all around little pot.

Fissler Blue Point Pressure 2.2qt Skillet w/ Lid

Fissler Blue Point Pressure 2.2qt Skillet w/ LidOriginally got a set of this pan, a larger one and a steamer insert. Got another when I thought I'd overheated and ruined the first. But cleaned it up and now have two smaller ones.

This pan performs well, but is also a great size to cook smaller items.

Have used a number of different pressure cookers, and Fissler's seem to perform fantastically. This size is especially great performing, and never burns on the bottom. Though I use an induction range, which heats up this pan very quickly.

Maxi-Matic EFS-400 Elite Cuisine 7-Inch Non-Stick Electric Skillet with Glass Lid, Black

Maxi-Matic EFS-400 Elite Cuisine 7-Inch Non-Stick Electric Skillet with Glass Lid, BlackI really like this little pan--it's perfect for single cooks, but would be fine for duos too. It has a basic non-stick surface (the smooth type, not T-fal). Be sure to season it well with cooking oil before the first use so food will not stick. Do not use commercial pan sprays--they will eventually buckle this type of finish. Instead, spray or wipe with cooking oil only. Also, use silicon cooking tools; never use metal utensils or you'll damage the non-stick finish.

There are five line-marked settings (i.e., no temperature listings) (l-r) that equate to 1-off, 2-low, 3-medium, 4-high, 5-very high (for preheating only). Preheat on position 5 for a minute or so, then add the food to be cooked and turn the controller down to position 4. The metal pan gets very hot--be careful not to touch the edges or you might burn yourself. The heating loop is visible on the underside of the pan (not embedded as it is in larger electric skillets), so place the pan on a Corningware counter protector or similar heatproof area.

When you want a one-pan breakfast, start by grilling a slice of buttered bread in the pan, then heating some Canadian bacon or pre-cooked sliced bacon. Finally, cook a seasoned whisked or whole egg and add a slice of cheese before assembling your open-faced breakfast sandwich.

The pan is small enough to clean and store very easily. Let it cool after use, rinse with water and wipe dry with a paper towel. The handle is removable, but I leave it assembled and ready to go. All told, the convenience of size is worth the minor design deficiencies.

This might sound very strange. But I'm a flight attendant and once a month I have a very long trip to Africa and I can't eat there due to previous stomach problems. I was looking to buy something other than a water heater to heat my soups. This little gadget rocks! You can disasemble it and won't take a lot of room in my suitcase.I put it in a bag with my little transformer, since it'snot dual voltage and I can actually heat up foods other than soup. Makes great grilled cheeses and heats real quick. You have to be very careful when the pan is hot because the bottom gets super hot and I got burned already. Also you need to let it cool before you put it away. Anyways, for me it's a perfect, inexpesive item that is making my life so much easier these days. I totally recomend it and will buy another if this one breaks. Wish it was dual voltage but I guess you can't have it all....

This skillet works wonderfully, it is very easy to get the exact temp you want with itthe only problem I have had is that the coating has bubbled up and flaked off. I use it daily at about 130 degrees so the flaking problem is not that I'm using it too hot. I love it otherwise though, besides the coating, it is perfect for what I use it for!

This is a great little frying pan. This is the 2nd one I have purchased.

I use it traveling. When you have been on the road for several weeks, even a can of chili can be better than some restaurant fare. It is also great for eggs, french toast, toasted sandwiches ect.I have found that the money I save making some of my own meals in it pays for the pan in a few days.

I bought this to make breakfast at the office, and it is fantastic. It sure beats eating restaurant breakfasts cheaper, and I know what I'm eating!Like others, I leave the handle attached because all you have to do is wipe it out, no need to submerge the pan. There is a small hot spot in the front of the pan, but it doesn't interfere with cooking. You can't go wrong for this price.

Kitchen Selectives Over Easy Omelette ExpressIf there is one thing I have learned this is it:

1. There is nothing good about a product that does everything.

Recently purchased this product from Amazon.I was influenced by the good reviews. It does make nice, fluffy omelets, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't cook themproperly.I followed the instructions to a "T" but the omelets still looked more like quiche.I carefully cut down the cooking times to the point where the eggs were too undercooked and splattered when I flipped the pan.It seems that for this particular unit, the thermostatmight have been set too high at the factory and therefore the eggs get very '"browned" and it was frustrating to have little control over it.It's also quite possible that the thermostat is just defective. Nevertheless, I sent the Selective Brands Over Easy Omelet Express back to Amazon.Unless I'm notified by the manufacturer that this particular omelet maker was defective, I've decided to not re-order this product.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch and 12-Inch Skillets Twin Pack

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch and 12-Inch Skillets Twin PackI went to Macy's and compared this twin pack to the sold separately 10 and 12 inch skillets; the skillets in the twin pack were much thinner and lighter.

This twin pack may be a good deal on its own, but know that you're getting light weight skillets.

The scam is that neither Anolon nor Amazon mentions the difference in design.

I have several Anolon Advanced pans and skillets and like them all very much. There is nothing 'wrong' with this set, but the pans are NOT as heavy as some of the other pans. I was initially disappointed by that since I really like the hefty feel of my other Anolon Advanced pans. That's why I'm giving it a "Almost Great" rating.I will say that the pans do seem to work just as well as the others I have. And the quality seems just as good. I DO wish, however, that it had been noted in the product write up that these pans are not the same thickness/weight as the others. So, if you are picky about things like that as I am, then this is your warning. If you don't care about weight or thickness, then I'd say you will love these pans. Again, the quality is there, the nonstick works great, and they are wonderful to work with. For those new to Anolon Advanced, be warned that you absolutely can NOT use high temps on any of the pans. Preheat your pans to a medium setting first and you'll have the best results. These pans DO hold temperature really well and will get very hot, even on a medium setting.Enjoy!

I've used Anolon Advanced for years and needed to replace 3 of my pans.I ordered them offline after reading the description which was described exactly as my original pans but alas, they're not.The 10" is almost 1/2 the weight of the original pan and I don't like the feel of the new non-stick pans.. it's very rough.I will return these and look to another line of cookware for the same weight pans that Anolon used to offer. What a shame, I loved my Anolon cookware!

I read the reviews of this skillet set and disregarded the naysayers. The pans that arrived at my house were lightweight (clearly not the Anolon quality of the past) and the nonstick coating was horrible.I purchased the set mainly for eggs and to fry various items without oil.The first day I tried scrambled eggs. They stuck to the pan worse than the skillets I had just thrown away. The second day I fried shrimp for a curry. No matter which way I turned the pan on the burner, one side got hotter than the other. These pans are going back and I'm on my way to Costco for a better/lower priced set.I don't return Amazon items very often, please believe me when I tell you that these pans are not worth the money.

I was delighted at the price of this item, as I had purchased the same brand years ago and had worked through the teflon on some of my saute pans. What arrived was not at all the same quality or heft of what I had before, even though the brand is exactly the same. This pan is still well made, but I don't get the same sense of confidence that it will heat evenly as I do with the older models of the same pan.

I have had this skillet for over a year now and I love it. My old non stick skillets were starting to chip and warp and I wanted to buy something that would last. Also I wanted something with a lid.I looked through a lot of skillets before settling on this one.The price was right and I knew that cast iron lasts forever as long as you take care of it.It gives a great flavor to food and works well on the stove top or in the oven. Danish Ebelskiver / Filled Pancake Pan - Cast Aluminum

Danish Ebelskiver / Filled Pancake Pan - Cast AluminumAfter getting a 7-hole ebelskiver while staying in my sister-in-law, I fell in love with the ebelskiver concept. I needed a smaller one to fit my luggage and I got this one with 5 holes. It's excellent. It does not stick (I always spray oil before the first round of ebelskivers) and it's actually easier to work with because you'll be managing 5 instead of 7 at once.
