FOOD NETWORK 11-PC HARD-ANODIZED NONSTICK COOKWARE SET

FOOD NETWORK 11-PC HARD-ANODIZED NONSTICK COOKWARE SETMy daughter and son in law bought this for me since my Pampered chef set was not holding up very well. I have used this for the past 3 weeks and it is easy to cook with and to clean up in. I haven't used the set in the oven yet but I absolutely love it. The only thing is that i now have to wash the cookware by hand but it has been so easy to clean that I don't mind not using my dishwasher. I love that the small sauce pan has a pour spout on each side of it and it also has holes on the lid so that you can drain without having to dirty a colander. It come with two very large frying pans. One is deep and since children come over with their families to eat I need the deep and large size. I haven't needed to use my electric skillet since. I love the pot being more narrow and tall so that it fits much better on the burner and cooks more evenly. It is very durable and you don't have to worry if one the kids use a metal spoon in it instead of the plastic spoons. I still use the plastic spoons since i had them for all my other cookware. The handles on the lids to get hot but it is no problem for me to use a hot pad to take them off. I rather have the handles holding up for a long time. I plan for this to be my last cookware set and at this price you can't beat that.

we've had this set for 4 years now, and it's been great.I was a bit apprehensive about getting a celebrity/TV brand, but it's been the best cookware set i've owned. We've used all of the pans quite thoroughly and never had any problems. The non-stick coating is starting to scratch, but that happens with all non-stick cookware eventually, and we really didn't make the effort to make it last. We cooked on some of the pans daily on a gas stove, and they've all been through the dishwasher with no problems.the handles are sturdy and stay cool to the touch, the lids fit securely.I particularly like the 11.5inch/5-qt. covered sauteuse pan, used for everything from fried green tomatoes to butter chicken.the small skillet is great for eggs, and the small sauce pan is great for making rice and pasta as the lid has holes on the sides for venting or draining.overall great cookware set, totally worth it for what you pay.

We recently bought this set over the Rachel Ray set and absolutely love it.I agree that they are easy to clean, and they evenly distribute heat for more even cooking.I also have not yet used them in the oven, but I can't wait to try.

What more can I say? This kitchen set is great! Doesn't get scarred with scratches or burn marks. Extremely easy to clean! You won't be disappointed buying and using this product. Quit wasting your money on low quality material!

Considering that my previous and only set of pots and pans in my life were the ones I bought straight out of college, these are a definite step up. But even without that perspective, I really like them. They're attractive, easy to clean and a decent weight. I'm not a professional cook, I just needed decent stuff to keep myself alive, Oh, and weren't warped and rusty anymore! Mostly I use a microwave or my toaster oven. With that said,

I looked and looked and settled on these because of the strainer lid. I only noticed it was Food Network after the fact; not that the FN brand means anything in particular to gauge quality. I've enjoyed the shows, but I don't assume that means a television network is capable of manufacturing good cookware. My only fleeting thought was that they wouldn't want their brand associated with junk, but was not my deciding factor. I went with these because they had the items I needed, cool features with the strainer lid and steamer insert, and they looked nice.

But I incorrectly assumed that the strainer fit the 3 qt pot which is what I would use to cook pasta in. It does not. Rather disappointed about that because I was looking forward to cooking my pasta with this type of lid. But considering I needed pans anyway, I'm not disappointed enough to send them back. Perhaps I can find a pot/strainer just for my pasta needs.

Heating seems to be pretty even and nonstick works like a breeze. The only thing I noticed when cleaning is since the handles are attached with these knobs on the inside of the pot, I can quickly see how gunk can build up between there over time. Not sure how I feel about that, but again, still a step up for me. Two thumbs up. Just nicking a star for the strainer.

Charolles 26cm Shabu Shabu Pan

Charolles 26cm Shabu Shabu Panworks good maintains the temperature better then a regular pot for Shabu Shabu slightly expensive though. Stainless Steeleasy t o clean.

UPDATE-

2/21/12 I've used this now for Shabu Shabu a number of times, and I must say that my only complaint is that I'd like it to be slightly larger, but that's really not the fault of the pan, but more how much crap I throw in the pan when I make it, so this is an individual difference that shouldn't apply to the rating of the pan. Also, because the pan has an opening in the middle to allow heat to pass through the pan, it does make it slightly difficult to get solid items out if you don't have the right kind of spoon.

However, with all that said, this is a great and attractive pan for use with Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki. Purchase without hesitation. I marked my review up from 4 stars to 5, especially considering the other pans out there look like doodoobutt.

7/16/11 Have yet to use this pan, but since there was a lack of reviews, thought that I would share what I thought about this pan. First, the instructions are in Japanese. Second, the pan is relatively nice, but a little light. I'm not sure how well it will retain heat, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue. It does have metal handles on both the lid and the pan itself. They aren't super cheap, but they aren't also super heavy. This pan seems to be pretty middle of the road in terms of quality. Not too bad, not too amazing. Again, just a review without use.Charolles 26cm Shabu Shabu Pan

Magnalite Classic 18-Inch Oval Covered Roaster

Magnalite Classic 18-Inch Oval Covered RoasterI have wanted a Magnalite Roaster for a very long time. When I searched the internet for the roaster, I located one at Amazon and at a reasonable price. When I received the roaster I was very dissatisfied with the product. The Oval Cover is out of round and their is no way that it will form a seal with the roaster.Their are gaps between the cover and roaster and the cover wobbles when it sits on top of the roaster.I know other people that have had this product for many years, and are very happy with it.I guess that either Magnalite is no longer manfucatured to the same standards as in the past or they do not perform a quality check after production and before shipping.

My first set of cookware was Magnalite and both my Mom and Grandmother owned Magnalite. This aint your usual Magnalite. It arrived warped and scratched up and was shipped in it's own box with no packing materials. It also appeared to be a return because the box had been opened and retaped shut. Not to be anti China but that's where this was maufactured. I will try to buy this made somewhere else because it looks to be a cheap immitation of the real thing.

I have used this kind of roaster for the holidays over the years and love them. It keeps the Turkey so moist and cooks very even.

The problem I have with this new one is it is made in China not the USA like my other one. The new one is not as heavy and the quality of workmanship not up to par. I never found it on the internet as a recalled item so I kept it but still am not really confortable with products made in CHINA because of the lead content in allot of their products.

I returned the product. The product was nothing close to the set of magnalite that I was trying to add to. The material was lighter in weight, the lid did not fit securely and the inside appeared to be unfinished. The texture was very rough. My original set, which is 15 years old still works perfectly and looks great.

I am originally from South Louisiana and was raised with magnalite cookware, my grandmothers, my aunts, my Mother everyone used only magnalite.I was lucky to inherit a couple of pieces but was determined to build up my own magnalite collection. Over the years I have been doing just that. There is no better cookware on the market. I have strayed and tried others but they end up being given away or thrown away and my magnalite is always there waiting to cook a superb meal. This roaster was one that took me a while to get, it is expensive but I knew it would be worth it and man oh man this thing is wonderful.

I cook a giant beef brisket in this roaster that is just so tender and juicy with a gravy that is fabulous, a turkey turns out beautiful and moist, in the summer I buy bushels of fresh okra, chop it and cook it down in this roaster with onions and tomato, bag it in ziplock bags and put it in the freezer, I have my okra for my gumbos all ready to go. And speaking of gumbo if you need to make a giant batch of gumbo this roaster will cover that task too! I use in on the stove and in the oven.

I never had a problem cleaning any of my magnalite pots, I do not put them in the dishwasher, I put a little dishwashing soap in them and some warm water let it soak a bit then use either a brillo pad or a teflon scrubber pad on them, it cleans amazingly easily. They will discolor inside over time but it has no effect on the cooking.

So many Cajun cooks lost their collections in Katrina and Rita, very sad because these were magnalite sets that had been handed down for generations! We are starting over and you can bet we will start over again with our magnalite!

You can not get anything better.

New Heavy Large 13" Cast Iron Fry Frying/Sautee Pan

New Heavy Large 13' Cast Iron Fry Frying/Sautee PanThere is a ridge around the outer edge of the bottom on this pan. This lifts most of the pan about 1/8" off a smooth cook top. Contact with the cook top is important for efficient, even and effective heating! Don't order this for a smooth top. However, the overall quality seems very good--no voids or sharp edges. It would probably be fine for a gas range or campfire...and I love cast iron cookware.

Range Kleen 10 Inch Blue Fry Pan with black matte interior

Range Kleen 10 Inch Blue Fry Pan with black matte interiorI bought this same exact skillet several years ago and was very excited to see it priced on here at half of what I originally paid.I am going to purchase another one.I think that the mistake people make with the enameled cast iron is that they do not properly preheat. If you preheat on low to medium heat for approx. 5 minute then even eggs won't stick.Of course you should use oil when cooking certain things like eggs.Iuse coconut oil to cook with and have never had anything stick.

And remember; there is no reason to season enameled cast iron. You are wasting your time doing this and may even damage the enamel.I wonder if the people posting negative reviews have destroyed their enamel by seasoning.

Ditto to the first review.

Eggs stick and I have "seasoned it" countless times.Still trying to figure out what they want me to do so it won't stick with eggs.

It does heat water OK.LOL

After almost ruining my cast iron skillets from lack of knowledge, I did a little research.I did stumble onto a site that really gave me the instruction I needed to care, maintain and correct any problems that I was noticing...rust, food sticking.

I understand that with time, the sticking should subside.I use my cast iron almost daily.

When my husband can't cook steaks on the grill...I use my cast iron and tastes just like it was grilled...or at least close enough.

I use this to cook pancakes regularly.I have used it to cook my eggs.Yes it does still stick a little still, but like I said, with time the sticking has been and should be subsiding as long as I care for the skillet (dry it and oil it) afterwards as I learned from my websearch.

Happy learning, cooking and eating!

This is cast iron. When I use it on a conservative heat, the handle doesn't get very warm. When I cooked in it with oil and 400+ degrees for 30 minutes, the handle is going to get hot. It's iron. If you had a $500 iron skillet it would still be made of iron and heat up eventually. As far as cleaning, if you're not prepared to go through the pains of learning to cook with cast iron, it might not be for you. When I cooked on it the right way, easy as clean up can be on cast iron. I started to deglaze with the pan was smoking hot... spent an hour cleaning it (my fault). If you want easy clean up, get one that's porcelain on the inside too, but then you might as well use a normal frying pan.

From the research I had done, I expected this pan to have a special interior that would be easy to clean, unlike typical cast iron cookware. The interior is like sandpaper like any other cast iron cookware it's a royal pain to clean.

Also I had the impression the handle would not heat up significantly. Not true, after cooking the pan can only be comfortably (heat wise) lifted from the very end of the handle and that is creating a lot of bad leverage against the heavy weight of the pan making it dangerous and difficult to hold while you empty the contents.

Norpro Nonstick Mini Waffle Pan

Norpro Nonstick Mini Waffle PanThis is NOT your regular waffle grill, but it piqued my interest. Prime the grill with a non-stick spray and pre-heat, pour your batter and flip when the top no longer looks wet and give it a good flattening with a turner to imprint the "waffle" on the other side.

It's a nicely constructed heavy weight grill for it's little size and it heated evenly even with the thick banana and chocolate chip batter I tried with it for the first run. Partly due to the thick batter, the waffles turned out to be like a waffle/pancake mix. It was a challenge to flip, but doable and I'm sure with practice it will become easier.

This little grill may not appeal to all as both sides will not come out as crisp and even as a regular waffle maker, but I like it and it's compact size.

The waffle creates with this pan are very thin, not at all like the ones from a twist over type of waffle pan

Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan with Helper Handle

Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan with Helper HandleI have a complete set of Circulon Symmetry and I bought this to complete my set. I use this pan quite a bit because it is evenly weighted and the perfect size for a one pot meal for 2-4 people. The lid is a plus and is very sturdy. I've dropped some of the lids and they have held up to a lot of abuse such as falling off the counter, etc. without any damage. This pan has all the same features as my Symmetry set -----a wonderful non-stick interior and exterior which cleans up with a swish in warm, soapy water and an interior that heats up quickly without annoying cold and hot spots and the lid that fits perfectly that provides a window to observe the cooking process. It even has a small handle that can be used to hang it from a rack, unlike my other fry pans.

The only negative is don't put this in a dishwasher. My Dawn powerpac left a nasty film on my other pans in this series.

Excellent pan, I originally wanted the larger and much heavier frypan with lid, which has a larger base on it.I am extremely happy with this though, itsnon-stick bottom is amazing and the smaller base fits perfectly on our stovetop (not alot of room for enormous frypans). If you do want to brown your meat etc you just need to do it in a couple of batches as the pan is very deep rather than wide.I found the weight really great to handle, I could still pick it up with one hand, whereas the frypan is much heavier and you need to use both hands to lift it.

Shipping to NZ was very speedy and item arrived perfect.

Circulon has different product lines and it is important to make sure you get the chef pan that meets your needs. The Symmetry Chef Pan is designed for more casserole type dishes which you may not want as much surface heat directly touching the bottom of the pan. I make a milk base soup in this pan for example. Really I see it as multipurpose but the Infinite line is what they describe as a more durable chef pan it has a larger surface base. I like both.Stainless Steel encapsulated base, large handles, anodized non stick, clean up is a breeze. Excellent pans both Symmetry and Infinite! Its hard to find a 6 quart in this style of pan it truly is family size.

Cuisinart 55-10R Advantage Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, Red

Cuisinart 55-10R Advantage Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, RedI paid $49 for this set on a Friday sale, and at that price it's a good deal. While the pans are not as heavy and durable as Circulon Commercial, they are comfortable to use, they cook evenly, and they clean up easily. The lids are excellent. The two large lids are interchangeable and fit the 10" skillet as well as the stockpot and saute pan. (Unlike a prior reviewer, I had no difficulty peeling off the stickers.)

I am now looking into contacting Cuisinart about the set I bought last December. The first set we got started shedding its non-stick cover within 2 weeks.Amazon promptly replaced it with another one. Now, a year later, I have thrown away all items except frying pans because of the same issue.Even though this set looks good, it does not have the quality to last more than one year.

I bought this set when it was offered for sale at $39.99 by Amazon. It is a great set at that price, however, the price has risen to $149.00.I would be disappointed if I paid that much for it.

I once thought that I would buy a more expensive set once my children grew up and left home but now that I'm older they are too heavy for me.This set is light enough not to aggravate the arthritis in my hands and sturdy enough to stand up to daily wear.

The non-stick surface does a fantastic job and clean up is a breeze.

I bought this set because it was a good price. I did not think that I was going to be the happiest with the "red" color, but as it turns out, it is a deeper, richer color than the picture portrays. The pans feel nice and heavy (not as heavy as a much more expensive set) but very nice for the price I paid. The non-stick surface is just that non-stick and easy to clean. The bottom of the pans is the part I like there are no "hot spots" to burn my food as I am cooking. I do have a husband and teenaged son who are hard on things but so far these pans are standing up to their abuse. For the price, I would definitely recommend these.

Kinetic Stainless Steel Cookware Sets

Kinetic Kitchen Basics Series Stainless Steel 7-Piece Cookware SetI order these pots about 2 year ago and was actually upset when I had to give them away when I moved. When I finally moved to a new apartment and needed to stock my kitchen I immediately searched for these pots and pans. I love cooking with stainless steel and these are a great buy if you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money. The handles are sturdy, the set isn't too heavy, and they clean very easily. Also, I love that they come with the set of stainless steel utensils(which are hard to find and usually very expensive if you try to buy them separately). Very happy with this purchase.

I replaced all the old worn out pots and pans in my kitchen with this set. I think it is well worth the asking price. The only thing I think could be improved upon is the handles could be a no heat transfer handle. I need to use the hot pad to handle them. They wash nice and cook well. And they look nice all pretty in my kitchen. :o)

I love this set of pots and pans! They are the perfect weight and size and are very well made. The set is made from 18/10 stainless steel with sandwiched aluminum bottoms for fast, even heating. The heavy-gauge knobs and handles are permanently welded for durability. The set came exactly as described. A lot of other sets come with an 8 quart dutch oven. That's too large for me. The 5.5 quart dutch oven is the perfect size for cooking and storing in the cabinet. The food does not stick to the inside of this cookware and the pots and pans clean easily. This set has the perfect size pans (1 qt, 2 qt and 3 qt) and stacks beautifully in my kitchen cabinet. I also love the see through lids so you can monitor the heat level while cooking. The handles and knobs do not overheat when cooking. The other brands come with non-stick frying pans. I was looking for a cookware set without non-stick pots or frying pans. I researched all the other brands farberware, calphalon, cuisinart, etc and this is the best cookware set by far. This would be especially good for some-one just starting out as it has everything you need. I'm very happy with this set!

Farberware Restaurant Pro Aluminum Nonstick 12-Inch Commercial Skillet

Farberware Restaurant Pro Aluminum Nonstick 12-Inch Commercial SkilletThis pan looks and feels like a restaurant quality pan. It's very solidly built. The nonstick coating works well and seems to be of similar quality to my smaller All-Clad pan. The outside is brushed aluminum so you don't have to worry about scratches. The pan is a bit thinner than some of the high-end pans, but I prefer it since it heats up quickly, it's easier to moderate the temperature, and it's easier to maneuver. As far as I can tell it heats pretty evenly. My previous pan was a higher end Calphalon whose coating wore out within 2 years. In my opinion, it's not worth the investment to buy an expensive non-stick. I think you get more than what you pay for here.

We have a flat glass top electric stove and have had problems with skillets which warp or do not cook evenly or both. After buying a Farberware 14-inch nonstick coating skillet (this one's larger version) and finding that it doesn't warp even at the highest heat setting, cooks evenly, and has high sides to prevent items from falling out onto the stovetop, I got this 12-inch version from Amazon for my wife for Christmas. A great bonus given the metal-only handles on many of today's skillets is that these Farberware units have long handles with no-hand burn insulation. As usual Amazon's processing and shipping were fast and the skillet was well packed. My wife is very pleased with this. So far, like the 14-inch version, this one hasn't warped either even at the highest heat setting and it also fries and cooks evenly. The nonstick coating has not deteriorated.

My negative comment is about a conflict in Farberware's printed instructions. On the visible face it states that the handle is good for oven use to 400 degrees F, but on the inside, not viewable until the pasteboard instructions are removed from the pan, the stated limit is 350 degrees F.

Non-stick coating works, holds up well after several dishwasher runs. Relatively small pan bottom for 12" skillet with deep sides. Takes a while to come up to temperature relative to its adequate weight. A decent cheap alternative to anodized aluminum.

Given the weight of this excellent pan, and it's seriously heavy so if you have trouble lifting things, this is not for you, it should be a good half inch deeper. Notice how it tapers out wider at the top. That's not really needed either. I'd prefer less taper and use that metal to give it more height. But overall this is a great pan and a solid deal.

Admetior 20cm Stainless Steel Skillet with removeable digital thermometer

Admetior 20cm Stainless Steel Skillet with removeable digital thermometerI just received this skillet as a gift and am delighted with it. Before, I was always burning butter, omelets, pancackes because the skillet would continue to warm up after I started cooking on my electric stove (yes, I always turn down the temp a little after I start cooking). It was just too hard to tell how hot the skillet was until the food started burning. No problem with this guy you can watch the skillet temperature rise and fall as you warm it up, add ingredients, or simmer. I liked this so much I ordered the 28cm version tonight.

The electronics use a standard AAA battery in the handle and it is easy to replace. I was a little worried about how heat might damage the battery, but found that as long as you put the skillet on a burner that's sized for the skillet, the handle stays comfortably cool. Heat spreads very evenly across the bottom.

Pros: Very simple to use. Easy to remove the temperature module for washing, dishwasher safe, the display has large, easy to read numbers, the temperature sensor responds very quickly to changes in skillet temperature, the display tells you the ideal temperature for 11 common foods, an alarm will beep if the temperature gets too hot for what you're cooking, and the walls of the skillet are nice and high, and the skillet, while sturdy, is not too heavy. The instructions are clear, although you hardly need them for basic operation. Lastly, because food isn't over-cooked, the skillet is easier to clean.

Cons: It would be nice to disable the over-temperature beeper if you know you will be watching the food cook. There was a clear piece of protective shipping plastic I didn't notice on the underside of the handle when I cooked the first time. It shriveled, but didn't burn or stick to the skillet or cause any damage, so just make sure you remove it when you unpack your skillet.

The 20cm (8") version is for cooking smaller items. If this is your first Admetior, consider the 24cm (9.5")or 28cm (11") size, which don't cost much more.

George Foreman Foreman Special Edition Super Champ

George Foreman Foreman Special Edition Super ChampThe George Foreman Grill works like a champ! The first thing I cooked with it was a huge Porterhouse steak and it was great. The size is just right for me. I can do two small steaks or pork chops at the same time. The fat runs out into the tray at the front. It cleans up easily, as well, even though the grill plates are not removable. I just spray it with some water while it's warm and wipe it down with paper towels. I have recommended this grill to friends.

A third party has posted an incorrect photo of the same size model with a bun warmer plastic top (GR18BWI) discontinued; the model for sale is GR18 without the bun warmer and in white (GR18PL is silver). The bun warmer seems limited to the smallest models only 36", and may never have been popular.

The 51" model has a more square plate than the 50" (GR50) model, which is wide and very narrow, suitable mainly for hamburgers rather than steaks. The 60" models are only slightly larger and fit in similar spaces, and have similar wattage about 800.

Unlike the larger 72" and above models, this size can fit on a range top between the burners.

The cords are all shorter by a foot or more from the original 3ft cords years ago, and may need an extension.

We have used several of the George Foreman grills and they all offer the same basic premise.Super quick way to grill your food. The grill plate is angled so the oil from the fat will drain away from the food. This will prevent the food from cooking in its own fat. This allows for quick, healthy preparation of meats for the salad, or leaner burgers, etc.Cleaning is fairly simple. The grilling plate is mostly nonstick.Just use the provided sponge with some warm soapy water and everything comes off.For the chunks of meats that are harder to get off, just use the provided plastic scraper.

I have 3 different sized GF grills and use them several nights a week. They are all several years old but have held up well.

One finally quit working. It's the one I used the most.I couldn't find the same model so went with the 'new generation' of GF grills.I order quite a bit through Amazon and didn't anticipate a problem with them......and I didn't.

The grill, however, was more square shaped that the older oval shaped one that died. The older one would hold 2 very large hamburger patties but the newer one, being square, would hold one large patty or one large steak.

We used it once to cook 2 steaks on.It cooked them well enough but the non-stick coating came off in many places with the first cleaning.I have been cleaning these grills for years and they don't have a mark of missing coating on them anywhere.

I only paid $21 and change plus shipping for this grill and am debating on whether it's worth sending back.I will buy another one, but at a store close by for easier return if it happens again.

When I got this I was unsure about it, but now that I've tried it I'm hooked. As someone that has always had questionable cooking skills, in the past I didn't cook much. Having lived mostly on prepared meals. Now with this I can cook, and well. I can make perfectly cooked steaks, hamburgers and chicken. Just thaw the meat, put a little seasoning on it and cook. Plus clean up is a snap, takes less time to clean the grill than it does to wash my plates. And it's great for someone like me who lives alone. Perfect for one person. Would totally recommend this to anyone else.

Emeril by All-Clad E8844564 Restaurant Chef's 5-Quart Stainless Steel Dutch Oven Cookware, SilverI got this exact pot elsewhere, but since everybody reads Amazon reviews, decided to enter mine here. It's a satisfactory quality pot, it cleans well, too. The only problem is that the lid doesn't fit tight enough it is loose andthere is a gap all around, so it makes it more difficult to strain (I lost some of spaghetti), and it takes longer to bring pot to a boil. Also, lid handle gets very hot.
