All-Clad LTD 11-Inch Square Nonstick Grill Pan

All-Clad LTD 11-Inch Square Nonstick Grill PanI bought this pan after hearing my sister rave about it.It is terrific.I have grilled salmon, hamburgers, chicken breasts and pork tenderloin.Luckily, my sister gave me the secret to using the pan and easy clean up.Preheat the pan on Medium heat for ten minutes. DO NOT use any cooking spray or oil. This will ruin the pan. When you are done cooking, just fill the pan with soapy water and let soak for a few minutes. Rinse with water, scubbing lightly if necessary.

I would highly recommend this pan.It is like having a grill inside!

I've used a couple of other grill pans from other manufacturers and was never very impressed. But I decided to give it one more try with the All-Clad. What a difference. Everything I've made from fish to vegetables, soy burgers, steaks everything, has come out great. I've also found that it cleans up easily after a quick soaking. I don't use any spray and only oiled it as per the instructions the first time I used it. Northing sticks. Overall, a great pan I use several times a week.

I've owned this grill pan for almost 2 years now and it does a great job of grilling everything from burgers to chicken, fish and thick steaks. It has the ability to heat up to a very high temperature, enabling me to nicely sear the outside of the meat. I can then pop the whole pan in the oven to finish cooking the inside of thick steaks or just to keep warm. As for clean up, the pan does need to sit and soak for a little while but after that, everything comes off with relative ease. No hard scrubbing involved. Overall, I love this product and highly recommend it.

I have only owned this item for about 3 weeks and have used it at least 10 times already. What I like about it is that it is big enough to hold just about anything, leaves nice "grill marks", takes less energy and time to heat the pan, and it is very very easy to clean. If you find it hard to clean, it is probably because non-stick spray or even oil (not including butter) is being used.Don't do it.It is already "non-stick".Usually I put any oil that is needed on the meat or veggies first, then cook it.If you have a sticking problem, after cleaning the pan, rub a little soft scrub 0n the spot. This gets rid of any residue that may have caused the sticking to begin with.I think it is better than George Foreman, becuase the fat doesn't drain away which, in the end, saves the flavor.

I love this pan.Since buying it many years ago, I use it constantly.Love it for grilling vegetables, chicken, even did a tandoori tofu on it last night.I have found it dependable, easy to clean (really) and especially love the grill marks on the foods.I give it as gifts and recommend it to others.I do agree that over a burner (I have gas) it isn't completely even and I tend to move items around as some sections heat more than others--but not significantly enough to make me unhappy with the pan.

Chef's Design Griddle

Chef's Design GriddleAfter shopping around for a long time and looking at a lot of griddles in the stores, I took a leap of faith and ordered this one on-line, without having seen it in person.I couldn't be happier. It is a heavy design, but without the inconvenience of cast iron.I didn't think I would like the higher sides than most griddles, but it turns out to be really convenient.I bought it to go over an oval center burner in a new gas stove but it is a bit too large to heat up evenly and using it across two side burners actually works better as I can still use the other side. One thing to note, I bought it because I thought it was American made, but it turns out to be yet another item that corporate bean-counters have taken out of the hands of American workers and shipped overseas to China.

Picked up this great deal when it was on sale -didn't really need it at the time, but thought it would be nice to have for Sunday mornings.I was VERY impressed with the quality and weight of griddle.I haveelectric burners and while the heat was not PERFECTLY distributed, it was very close.A nice heavy duty griddle with a nice design.

I've been looking for a larger griddle for some time. I had no idea they came THIS large without being attached to their own power source, though. I have a gas stove as opposed to the flat top stove recommended, and this griddle fits well and works great. I love being able to cook all of my food in one batch. This is a quality product and I am very happy to own it.

WMF Collier Cookware Set, 8-Piece

WMF Collier Cookware Set, 8-PieceI bought this set while I was attending Law school in London. I had grown accustomed to great pots and could not buy a cheap pot set so I found these in the local TJ Maxx. I even shipped them home with me after finishing school!!

WMF is known for great quality items and this pot set is the epitome of this. It is high quality stainless steel with a sandwich bottom which ensures that it does not burn right through like the ordinary cheap pots. If I am not mistaken there is a strip of copper and this is a great heat conductor which will ensure an even distribution of heat and reduce energy consumption!

The look while you cook lids are awesome, I don't have to constantly remove the pot covers to see what is going on in my pot. The various sizes are good as well, but may not be adequate for a big family so you may want to consider getting the add on pieces.

This set is both functional and beautiful to look at and if they are on your stove when you have visitors you are sure to get compliments...I have!

All being said these pots require good care, you cannot use brillo pads or scotch brite on these pots because they are high polished and any abrasive cleaners will ruin the polished look. If you happen to burn the surface of your pot just simply add water and some dish liquid and leave it on the warm burner to soak off.

Consider purchasing a WMF WMF Profi Plus Washing Brush with Stainless Steel Handlepot brush to remove any excess stubborn food particles.

Great Pot set...it's worth every penny!! This would make a great wedding present or housewarming gift.

This was my first good pot set! I loved it and I did not ruin it at all. I just left it in the house when we moved into a new one. I found an excuse to try a new one!

It is a great set. I was mostly worried about the small handles. But to my surprise they did hold up well. While cooking on low heat I did not even needed to use pot holders and on high heat having boiled pasta or potatoes I would use pot holders anyway. It's like a seatbelt in the car you never know what might happen.

I was extremely unhappy with the cheap pot set that I owned before and I still recall making the experiment how much faster the water would heat up. It was easy to clean and it is also dishwasher safe.A great pot set if you do like to cook and do not want to spend a fortune on your set.

In the U.S. you can get All Clad or something made in China.I found that WMF sold in Europe is made in Germany, but when sold in the U.S. it's made in China. That at lease gave me a barometer of the quality. The loop handles make it easy to store in my lazy-susan and also are more apt to remind me of the option of putting them in the oven--making one less pot/pan/dish to scrub.I was surprised at how much better this cookware conducts heat that my Cuisinart.Instead of trying to boil something on my electric stove at 8 or 9 I only have to go to 5.It's a lovely set and I love using them.

It arrived damaged, It happens. Spoke with a customer service representative, she was extremely helpful within minutes my problem was solved, return label sent and I took it up to UPS. I received a good deal on this cookware as well when purchasing them.So both times by e-mail and phone my problems were solved expediently, and courteously. the reason I gave it 4

stars was because of website navigation, finally after trying to explain the damage using the online form, and it continued to kick it out without explaining what I was doing wrong, I could not find a phone number to talk to a live person, finally having to google it thats where the frustration began. Long story short, part of it has to do with operator error namely myself, as its an 8pc set and I was under the impression that Just 2 pieces of the 8 piece set could be changed out. In essence its treated as 1 pc as a whole. My mistake I'm an older gentleman sometimes I make mistakes too. Again Thankyou, and have a great Day.Job well done.

Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Braiser 5 Quart

Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Braiser 5 Quartwhile this kuhn rikon is certainly pricey compared to other cookers, the quality and elegance is unsurpassed by anything out on the market.i really like the shape of this particular model because it allows me to easily braise and cook whole pork loins or roasts since the opening is flatter and shallower then KR's other models.Kuhn also sells a pyrex glass lid that fits on this cooker so it can be pressed into service as a giant saucepan or skillet, or for bringing food directly to the table in the pot. this cooker is almost always used in our kitchen for meal preparation can't imagine life without it!

Awesome quality and it is not made in China. Great product, expensive but rest assured the last one you will need to buy. Get the lid with this and make a dual purpose item. Again the finish and the quality of this item is awesome. Great solid shiny stainless.

This is one of the best investments I have ever made in a cooking pot. I was reluctant to buy it initially because it is expensive, but I have been using it steadily for ten years now and it's just great. I use it to make Osso Bucco, I braise lamb shanks and make venison stews. I prepare beets with it. It handles pot roasts and briscits very nicely. It significantly shortens cooking time and I find that many dishes that benefit from long cooking with an overnight rest can be be prepared for same day meals. There is a trick.... Since it takes very little time, relatively speaking, to braise something you have time to to let the dish rest for an hour or so to come together. You can then reheat it and you have something that would have required several hours of cooking all done in less than half the time and it gets the benefit of the resting time. If it didn't cost so much, I would have two. It's big enough to make braised shanks or coq au van for a family or a number of quests. The finish is nice enough and the surface area large enough to make a good presentation at the table. I can't find any downside to this cooker.

I purchased the Duromatic Family Style Braiser after reading the many rave reviews of its quality and performance.Having owned a competing brand for many years, I was ready to be impressed by this unit.Unquestionably, it is a beautiful cooking appliance and the engineering and finish are superb. What detracts from my enjoyment, though, is a design detail that no one speaks of: the split handles.First, because of the wide and shallow shape of the bowl, they are unavoidably close to the burner heat source. They become too hot to touch. That's not an insurmountable issue.....after all, that's what potholders are for.But the problem is that these handles are also the means for opening and closing the cooker so they need to be manipulated, not just held. The upper and lower handle elements have to be rotated in different directions, requiring awkward manipulation of searing hot parts. It's a design defect that I revisit each time I use the cooker and I find it a troubling oversight in an otherwise nice piece of engineering. While I appreciate the wide, useable, configuration of this cooker bowl, I would not recommend this configuration short of a thoughtful re-design of its handles or its opening mechanism.

I bought this as an alternative to my Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker/stock pot for times when I need to braise meats and then cook quickly. As advertised, it does exactly that with very little oil and then finishes the meal very quickly with very little water needed. It's quickly become my go to pot. I think the size is excellent for a quick family meal and for smaller meals as well, because pressure cookers can't be filled to the brim anyway. The only reasons I did not give a 5 star rating is that the 'stay cool' handles get very hot and would be easier to maneuver had one handle been longer. Also the box arrived very beat up from the seller.Fortunately the item was not damaged.I do prefer the newer turn top valve that I have on my 8qt stock pot as it is easier to see from a distance and a breeze to quick release. That however, is a personal preference and not a fault with the item and I still highly recommend this pressure cooker.

Scanpan Classic 10-Inch Crepe Pan

Scanpan Classic 10-Inch Crepe PanAfter searching and testing various pans for safety, heat distribution, quality craftsmanship and non stick performance (Including enameled cast iron, and even 100% Ceramic Pans), I ended up with this one.It is made in Denmark. It is Green-Tek (Environmentally friendly, free of PFOA) and the non-stick coating is a mixture of ceramic and titanium (not flaky Teflon). The core is Aluminum which is a great metal for fast and even distribution of heat.

The company says the surface is scratch resistant, but I tend to use plastic utensils when turning my crepes so I wouldn't know how scratch proof it really is.

Overall a very solid feel and great craftsmanship.I have no complaints about this pan and recommend it to anyone who wants to make near perfect crepes, eggs, and other similar "sticky" products easily and quickly.Clean up is a breeze.

I bought the Scanpan Classic crepe pan after reading numerous reviews on this and other crepe pans on Amazon.I wanted something high-end and well made that would last a long time.I have a cast iron Le Creuset skillet at home, and thought about getting a Le Creuset crepe pan to match.I also considered something more traditional like the Staub crepe pan.Ultimately I was swayed by reviews of this Scanpan crepe pan with their ceramic-titanium nonstick surface. It is a high-quality pan, with a thick and solid feeling base, secure and comfortable handle, and beautiful (nearly perfect!) fit and finish.

I ordered this online through Amazon.ca and paid the same price as on Amazon.com but in Canadian dollars.I also received free shipping in Canada.I placed the order on Dec 6 and it was received exactly two weeks later on Dec 20.I made a batch of crepes this afternoon, and they turned out perfectly. This pan is TRULY nonstick. For the first crepe, I used a bit of olive oil but for the next four, I did not and nothing stuck to the pan.It was also very easy to clean.I highly recommend this crepe pan and I am totally satisfied with it.On top of it all, it's so much fun to use!

The price on Amazon is a bargain.Compare to $79 at Ming Wo and $99 at Sears.I would give this away to family and friends for house-warmings, etc.It is really an impressive, quality item that is a pleasure to use.

I had read reviews on Scanpans so I finally bought one and tried it.These pans are just amazing. You can cook anything in them and then just wipe them out with a paper towel and they are clean. If something really sticks (for instance if you forget something and it really burns) you can use Barkeepers Friend on it and it will be fine.I'm in Culinary School and we did crepes on lab and loved them so I bought this pan for home use. This past Easter Sunday I used it to make crepes with strawberries and blackberries.I did easily a dozen crepes, not one stuck at all and when finished I wiped it out with a paper towel and it looked new again.Another great thing about Scanpans is that they come with a lifetime warranty. If anything ever goes bad with the pan you simply send it back to the factory and they mail you another one! This crepe pan has the "Classic" handle which is a plastic material but it can withstand temps to 500 degrees so it can even go in the oven but my other Scanpans are the "Professional" line which have stainless steel handles.Same great titanium/ceramic hybrid interior but just nicer looking handles.I have not tried the CTX line as of yet.

I primarily use this crepe pan to make Swedish pancakes. It does an excellent job, to say the least. It's not cheap, but it's well worth the cost. It's heavy and the heat distribution is very uniform, so you won't encounter any hot spots on this device. The ability to use metal utensils is a plus as well.

I bought these products primarily to cook eggs. I got tired of teflon pans that lasted a month. I admit these skillets aren't as non-stick as brand new teflon. Still, using olive oil coats the pan sufficiently to keep the eggs from adhering to the bottom. I also like the heavy gauge stainless steel, which heats the pan evenly.

Clipper 315-00008 8-Inch Pantry Chef Saute Pan, Black

Clipper 315-00008 8-Inch Pantry Chef Saute Pan, Black

I bought this to replace a favorite old veteran egg skillet that needed to be retired.

This nonstick pan exceeded my expectations; yes, it was a great value, but it's also a terrific little saute pan.

I'm using it primarily for cooking my husband's usual 2-egg breakfasts & it's just the right pan for the job.A little butter prevents sticking and gives the eggs just the right consistency (don't try to cook "over-easy" eggs in any nonstick pan without a little fat or you'll "crisp" them).

The nonstick coating on the pan is dense and slick, not thin, and the pan heats very evenly.I even like the exaggerated angle of the handle--it keeps your hand further away from the heat. And the handle is soft and easy on the hands.

A winner; I'm going to look into other sizes from this manufacturer (who also makes commercial cookware)---this is a great value for good quality everyday cookware.I'm going to put it to work for sautees, small omelettes, sandwiches and more.A favorite find : )

P.S.Just uploaded a quick 1 minute video, so you can get a better look at the pan and its nonstick finish.

Swiss Diamond HD Pro Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet

Swiss Diamond HD Pro Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet: 11'We've had the 11" Pro for a bit over a year. When we switched to induction, we settled on their induction ready aluminum pan and the HD Pro.

Within a year, the non-stick coating has started to bubble and recently lift. We hit the pan pretty hard with heat at times. However, we never had an issue with Scan pans (pre induction) or non-stick Viking pans post induction. The Swiss Diamond induction ready aluminum pans have held up fine but are not subjected to high heat cooking. If you expect to cook with high heat I'd take a pass on this pan.

Another issue is stains. We keep our pans in good shape and very clean. This pan looks like a mess. Stains all over the sides, the bottom is a mottled mix of shades of stainless steel. We've tried stainless steel polish, the cream for our Miele cooktop, Soft Scub and stainless steel wool. Nothing will remove them short of a shop grinder.

Last, we live in both the USA and Switzerland. This brand does not exist in the Swiss market. What does exist are Spring pans (Spring being the mother company). The Spring pans look very similar, if not identical for the aluminum pans.I assume they are the same thing. What's interesting is the Spring pans, while not supermarket cheap, are inexpensive middle market pans. And not all that popular judging from their limited distribution.

I'm taking a pass on Swiss Diamond in the future. First, for a moderately priced pan, our old Scan pans easily out lasted not only this one but our prior non-induction Swiss Diamonds. For a more expensive pan, our quite old Viking non-stick has put up with 7 years of intense heat just fine.Second, they certainly appear overpriced to me. We have all European cookware with the exception of a big Viking fry pan. Paying moderate prices, you get good pans. With this Swiss Diamod, paying a premium price got us an inferior pan.

Almost every other nonstick skillet has rivets that attach the handle, and food often sticks to the rivets and around the rivets.Swiss Diamond welds the handles so there are no rivets, and cleaning the skillet is much easier.

I have had two other Swiss Diamond nonstick pans for about a year and the nonstick coating has held up very well under daily use.

We have had this pan almost a year now, and being the foodies that we are, we use it all the time. I waited to write this review to see how it stood up to the test of time. Our last non-stick pan, after less than a year of use, was becoming warped and less and less "non-stick", but this beauty is still working just as well as the day we first started using her.

Sure it does come with a premium price tag, but when you we thought about the fact that you could spend your money replacing a chintzy an pan periodically throughout the year why not go with a product that is going to last? It is the perfect compliment to my Pampered Chef stainless cookware; let's fact it, we all need a good non-stick pan and this one is the best I have ever seen/used.

We love it so much, and my husband has never once had a bad thing to say about doing the dishes when this is dirty, it is super easy to clean. My in-laws even went home and bought one after they came to our place and used it! In the long run why not spring for a pan that is going to last?

I own 2 of these pans and am very happy with them. Here's why: they are oven save to 350°F and are dishwasher safe!! Food slides off the surface so easily that there are times I just wash it by hand because it cleans up so quickly. I use wood or plastic utensils and have not had an issue with scratching the surface. However, my hubby used a fork to break up some ground beef and put some nice scratches in one of my pans. This has not effected the performance at all. I still use it and have no problems with anything sticking, nor is the coating flaking off like I've had with other brands of nonstick cookware. Other reviewers have complained that the pan is too light weight. It is very light and you need to hold the handle when pushing food around in it or it will slide on the stove. I love that it's light because I can actually lift it fully loaded and dump food out. I also do not 'break my back' standing at the sink trying to clean it like I have with heavier pans. And did I mention it's dishwasher safe!! :-)

Other reviewers have complained that the pan and lid handles get hot. Yes, you must use a pot holder which I find is necessary with my other brands of cookware as well. The nice thing about the metal handles is that the pan is oven safe to 350°.

So, the fact that food slides off beautifully, I can put it in the oven, clean it in the dishwasher, and the relatively low price I love this pan! I should mention that I do not expect these pans to last forever. It's not like buying expensive cookware and expecting it to last a lifetime. I expect to get a few years out of them and then replace them. But for me, that's OK because I like the nonstick, oven safe, dishwasher safe features.

Yes it is made in Taiwan, it is light weight. The outsides are kind of a silver / tan color or more like silver / grey. Yes, the handle on the pan gets hot and so does the one on the lid and they are both hollow (more lightweight) I think the lid weighs more than the pan.It is fine for the price and works as expected, no problems with sticking or cleaning.

On edit two months later:After using this pot about six times the cooking surface is badly scratched and pitted.I used only plastic utensils but it still scratched, I would suggest using only wooden utensils or maybe buy something else.

Want Farberware Premium Aluminum Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Deep Skillet with Stainless Steel Handle, Plat Discount?

A few years ago, having become frustrated with certain members of my family who continually failed to take proper care with my extremely expensive All-Clad Stainless Non-Stick pieces, I gave up on expensive non-stick cookware and picked up a Farberware 12-inch covered non-stick skillet with glass lid and helper handle at my local K-Mart for 35 USD. I was more pleased with this pan than I can say.

Of course, in due course, certain members of my family destroyed the non-stick surface of this pan, as well, so I order the Farberware Premium shown here as a replacement.

While the non-stick surface performs to expectations, the construction of the pan is substandard compared to the earlier examples of Farberware products I have purchased in the past. The metal is far too lightweight and thin to conduct heat evenly, the bottom surface is not flat (and this is one of the worst things, because it is extremely difficult to flatten a pan, especially a non-stick pan, without damaging it), the handle is too round and slick and therefore, difficult to grip without rubberised or siliconised potholders for carrying the pan without the pan spinning in your grasp and dumping the contents on the floor. I cannot have such potholders in my kitchen, because I often bake at very high heat (500 F and higher), and such potholders will melt where cloth or leather ones will not even scorch. I have to date not actually dumped the contents, but it has been a very near thing on at least two occasions and that is two too many for my tastes.

For a product billed as "Premium", this borders on false advertisement. As a result, I cannot recommend this pan to anyone except those who really don't care about proper performance in their kitchen. I was very pleased with the last two Farberware pans I have owned. Farberware has lost a customer in me.

The only reason I have not returned the product is that, as with the previous examples, the certain members of my family mentioned above have already gouged the non-stick surface within three uses (usually by dumping it in the sink with other dishes, instead of washing it separately), and this pan will not long last in my kitchen.

Finally, the older members of my family purchase Farberware products on the strength of the brand name, because they remember the days when such things could be trusted. It saddens me to see their trust so repaid. Buyer beware.

Woll Diamond Plus 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan

Woll Diamond Plus 12-1/2-Inch Fry PanGot this to replace my favorite "giant" Calphalon non-stick stainless skillet, which finally needed to be retired after a decade of moderate usesurface at last became too worn and scratched for safety.Thought I could at least continue using the 12-plus inch glass lid (fully 12.5" as measured with metal rim). This first-class advanced nonstick monster seemed just the ticket...But alas, the Woll is actually OVER 12.5" a generous 32cm INTERIOR measurement translates to more like 12.7"/ a full 13" exterior width, and without the Calphalon's sloped sides, the old lid just neatly drops straight down past the rim to its perfectly flat bottom surface. So I had to order the expensive Woll stainless & glass lid afterall at least it should last a lifetime anyway.

Though heavier and more shallow than it would seem, based on the photo (probably depicting their smaller sized model?), it sure does appear to be as durable and functionally advanced for hot water rinse and paper towel wipe cleanup convenience for many years to come.Though not the super-slippery Tfal coating some people expect, this is a far superior nonstick material than all those "new" ceramic surfaced "Green" cookware products boast about. If that's what you're looking for, you'd do much better just getting an old-fashioned porcelain-on-cast-iron skillet like grandma used; I have tried to make an "Orgreenic" pan work as advertized and there's just no way (stickier than unpolished stainless!).We'll see how it holds up, but so far, this pan works brilliantly for all my giant skillet needs.

The Woll Diamond Plus 12 1/2 Fry pan Amazon picture shows a lid.

describes the Glass lid. It does not say it is purchased extra or I would have

Of course, almost every non-stick pan works at first.I've only had this for a few months but I love it so far.The nonstick works really really well, it seems to be pretty durable against metal utinsils, doesn't have PFOA chemical to bond the nonstick to the pan and cooks so nice and evenly.I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 though for the price. It's pretty steep in price.

When we bought this pan the salesperson promised us the moon, stars and eternal life.

They lied.

The diamond coating is under the non stick surface to help bond it, but the nonstick coating is still a fragilesurface that does not hold up in

daily use. Our's didn't.

The pan was great while it lasted, so good that 3 months later we decided to buy an entire set of pans from Woll.

The first pan we bought while traveling, the rest online.

At 6 months the nonstick coating began to fail on the pan we used daily. At 12 months it looked like something purchased at Walmart in the markdown bin.

Not what you expect for over $100

The pans we don't use at all look great. If you must own these,

plan on replacing them out of pocket frequently if you use them.If you want that long life expectancy promised by the salesman. I suggest that you don't use them.

Not using the pan should prolong the life of the non stick finish indefinitely.Sorry about the sarcasm but I'm really disappointed in both Woll and the pan.

I tried contacting Woll several times to try and get instructions on how to warranty the pan but have never received a reply.

It's been really upsetting.

Take a minute and Google their warranty service yourself, before purchasing.Couldn't find it? Me neither.I finally sent some Emails to

Corporate pleading for them to be redirected to the customer service or warranty dept.

It's been six months since my last attempt at warrantying the 12 1/2 fry pan. That's long enough to wait for a return email.

I'm sure not providing a way for someone to return their products for warranty saves the corporation a lot of money but it

sucks for the consumer.

I've gone to local shops selling Woll products and they have refused to honor the warranty for us because we did not purchase our pans there.

I can't really blame them.

Anyone want a ham, cheese omelet with just a hint of nonstick coating in it for that special flavor?

Save your money.Someday someone will create a durable nonstick pan, but it is not this one.

Stansport 8 3/4 Inch Enamel Fry Pan, Royal Blue

Stansport 8 3/4 Inch Enamel Fry Pan, Royal BlueAll purpose, easy to clean and free of chemical liners.Right size for one to two people.

The metal of this pan is very thin and so it doesn't heat evenly. Areas of the pan that get dry will burn the food residue very quickly. It's okay if you keep it full, but don't try to scramble eggs.

Even though the handle isn't insulated, it can be touched without a pot holder.

The skillet is very thin, there was a little rust around the handle. Just didn't like it. I was expectiing a heavier pad.

Fissler Blue Point Pressure 2.2qt Skillet w/ Lid

Fissler Blue Point Pressure 2.2qt Skillet w/ LidOriginally got a set of this pan, a larger one and a steamer insert. Got another when I thought I'd overheated and ruined the first. But cleaned it up and now have two smaller ones.

This pan performs well, but is also a great size to cook smaller items.

Have used a number of different pressure cookers, and Fissler's seem to perform fantastically. This size is especially great performing, and never burns on the bottom. Though I use an induction range, which heats up this pan very quickly.

GSI Outdoor Extreme Wok

GSI Outdoors Extreme 11-Inch WokI recently ran into a couple on a trip. They invited me to share their large campsite and fire. It was a crowded put in point in the BWCA, so I accepted for the night.

Around the fire that night I heard/learned from them the virtues of "the wok".It makes sense, but still not sure how I missed it all these years of camping.I'm a pretty simple person, and this is now my "one Pot" versus a tradional pot and a small skillet. Since I use one bag only on trips 1 item vs. 2 is a real plus.

It makes sense when you hear that the wok was designed for open fire cooking that the orient is drastically short on firewood in a lot of its rural farm areas that it evolved it's shape over eons of use by people who use "one pan" to cook everything and usually pass that pan from generation to generation. and it's really true, it requires SO much less fuel/wood/time on the hoome-stove to heat and cook with this wok versus my old pot/skillet.

Of course, the chopsticks went into the trash for me, but it fries my fish fine, makes pancakes (my version of bannock, I have pancakes for my bread too) it's easy to make noodles, even a box of mac/cheese if you wanted. easy to boil water given the inherent design. The lid functions as a plate and/or bowl if desired. It's easy clean up and most of all it LOVES open fires. In the coals, or on a grid/grate, it's really a sweet/simple set up.The first few days out I will take heavier items like real potatoes and carrots and the lid/wok design makes it easy to steam them too, not just have to fry them.I may not be right for you but this piece of gear is AWESOME for me!

I have the fabulous smaller version of this GSI wok and was excited to get its larger brother. Note that is not a wok for backpacking. This wok will serve for creating meals while car camping or at home in the kitchen, but it is too heavy to be associated with the word 'outdoor' unless you're traveling by pack horse.

The big disappointment is that this wok does not have a domed lid, unlike its smaller incarnation. This means that you'll be unable to use a steamer basket in this wok or be able to cook larger items.

Why did GSI do this?

Therefore, minus one star.

The product image is somewhat disingenuous due to angle of the wok in the product image (taken directly from GSI's product page). You'd never know about the problem lid unless you have seen the product in person.

Minus another star.

Also, the lid is not the same material or quality as the wok itself, and appears to be an after-thought add-on to what is simply an aluminum wok with a folding handle.

Minus another star.

Altogether, at 1 lb. 15 oz., this is simply a lightweight kitchen wok with a non-stick surface.

It is a shame that the person who left the other review was mistaken on what this product was, but they should not have given this product only 3 stars. This product deserves 5+. I am a trained chef and an avid backpacker. This is a great product! Giving the ability to deep fry, stir fry, and more to a still lightweight pack is better than sliced bread. Unless of course that sliced bread is somehow included in the breakfast you have made in the wok.

THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR BACKPACKING/CAMPING. DO NOT BUY FOR HOME USE. :)

I've had the 11 inch version for many years now, and I use it both at home and in the field when I go camping. As a single guy, it works great when I'm at home. Don't let its size and weight fool you. Its built better then some pots I've owned, and the non stick surface is still completely intacked. Okay, so it does not have a domed lid, not a problem for me. makes it easier to pack. I use mine over a Trangia cook stove, it works great.

I use this 11 inch wok at home for one or two person servings instead of my 14 inch which is too large and heavy sometimes. The nonstick(inside) and the anodized(outside) finishes on the product look good and the non stick seems to work well(used it about a dozen times so far) with clean up being up to "non-stick standards."The unfolded handle has a tiny "give" to it where it joins the pan but doesn't affect the tossing action.Only took it car camping once but it's fairly lightweight so carrying it around in a pack shouldn't be an issue in many cases. The lid is perfectly functional as I only use this pan to stir fry/toss.

Polymerose Mini Egg FRY PAN with Glass Lid- Liquidation Price!

Polymerose Mini Egg FRY PAN with Glass Lid- Liquidation Price!I love sunny side up eggs, and I was looking for a small fry pan, with a clear lid to monitor the progress of the frying egg and turn the fire off at the perfect moment.Personally, I love glass lids because I can see the egg while AVOIDING the shooting of burning butter drops all over my arms.

This little pan (and I mean little, because it is a little less than 5 inch diameter) solved my problem: good quality, looks cute and I can fry my egg to perfection without getting burnt with small explosions of butter in the process. So far so good...

The pan was a little smaller than I expected, but is very nice and perfect when cooking for 1 person.

Lodge Logic L10SC3 Iron Cover, 12-inch

Lodge Logic L10SC3 Iron Cover, 12-inchI looked at it like this:

The 7 Qt. Dutch Oven cover fits the 12" skillet.

The 12" cover is $20.01

The 7 Qt. Dutch Oven w/Spiral Handle is $38.98

If I subtract what I'd spend for the 12" cover the D.O. only costs $18.97 more. That's a huge hunk of iron for a mere $18.97.

I did the same thing by buying the 5 Qt. D.O. because the cover fits my

10 1/4" skillet.

Also, I found a brush that works very well to clean the pans and lids Power Tip Dish & Glass Brush

As with all of our Lodge cast iron, the quality of this lid is excellent. There are no rough edges. It is solid and weighty. It fits perfectly on our Lodge 12 inch skillet.Seasoning is extremely simple wipe on some oil and bake in the oven for awhile so we have no preference for the pre-seasoning, but some may find it to be a plus.

The underside includes pointed spikes that might have been inspired from a medieval weapon, but I suppose that's where the self-basting comes from -moisture condensing on the lid will rain evenly back into the pan. While the spikes probably contribute much to the quality of cooking (which is the point after all), they make it somewhat uncomfortable to wash and dry.Still, we're not giving ours back.(As of this writing, the photo of the "Lodge 5-Quart Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Iron Lid" will give you an idea of what the bottom of this lid looks like.)

I purchased my Lodge Logic 12 inch Skillet when my T-fal 10 inch wasn't up to par.NEEDLESS to say, that pan has been sitting next to my oven and has never been used since. From fried chicken cutlets to hamburgers to baked apples in the oven, it does the job.The only thing missing was a lid. When I saw it on Amazon, I jumped at it.Since then, my pan has become the center of my kitchen. From re-heating pizza to stirfry, slapping the lid on make it a pan that can honestly say it heats from ALL directions. It keeps a lot of moisture in, which makes for some delicious, non dry or burned stirfry.

I agree with the other reviewer in that the "self basting" points make it a little tough to dry and re-oil.But I have started using the cloth like rags they sell in the cleaning aisle to clean my cast iron.I use a mixture of kosher salt and oil to safely scrub the surface, and it wash shredding my paper towels, but with these cloths, it's easier, and I know they don't have any soap on them. After the scrub, I wash off with warm water, dry, and then a light application of oil finishes up the deal.

If you have the skillet this goes with, BUY IT.Only then will you see how amazing these pans are.

I purchased the Emirilware 12 inch cast iron skillet, and we love it!If you don't have one and enjoy cooking, do yourself a favor and get one.Bacon, pancakes, etc cook perfectly and evenly. However, there is no lid available for this skillet from Emirilware. As long you don't care about matching your garanimals, this Lodge Logic lid works with the Emiril skillet.

It's also large and heavy enough to be used as a shield, in case that's your deciding factor. The spikes on the inside-top of the lid make it a little tricky to clean, but I use warmish-hot (luke-hot?) water and a plastic bristle scrub brush. Dry it with a cloth (it shreds paper towels).

If you have a 12" Lodge Logic Cast Iron Skillet, you need this lid. Why?

Most of the recipes in Cast Iron cooking books include a step like "Cover skillet in aluminum foil to trap juices and flavors."The reason they say this is most people neglect to buy the lid (stingy i guess), so the author simply recommends a (crappy) workaround.

Instead, buy this lid and stop mucking around with aluminum foil on SUPER HOT skillets. That's a recipe for disaster.

For an added bonus, the lid has little spikes on the underside. The purpose of these is to condense smoke/steam gases into liquids, and drop them back onto your food. This is what the other reviewers and item description mean by "self-basting".

Great Lid, if you have the 12" skillet, buy it!
