Kinetic Classicor Series Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with Lid

Kinetic Classicor Series Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Chicken Fryer with LidI bought this item and used it for only one month before it broke. The problem is that the basin holds more weight than the handle can manage. So with a pound and half of cooked stuff in the fryer, if you lift from the handle, it will break at the joint.Even though All-Clad is much more expensive, you're better off going with their chicken fryer because they bolt the handle to the basin (whereas Innova just staples the handle on).In fact, most other brands bolt the handle on to their chicken fryers.I don't know why Innova hasn't caught on.

I still gave 2 stars because the company accepted the return, although I did have to pay shipping.

I have this particular pan for the last 10 years and love, love it!! very easy to clean. just a light steel wool pad is for great clean up

Nonstick Frying Pan Set - Style 37435

Nonstick Frying Pan Set - Style 37435You cannot expect a lot for $10.00.The pans are well made, but the nons-stick surface is cheap and thin. These pans would be top notch if they had a better non-stick surface. The pans are actually well constructed and made of heavy gauge metal. It is too bad to ruin an otherwise excellent product by applying such a cheap and thin non-stick coating.

$18.00 FOR THREE NON STICK FRY PANS.I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR. CHEAPLY MADE.EVERYTHING STICKS TO IT. AFTER ONE USE TEFLON BEGAN TO SCRATCH OFF EVEN WITH PLASTIC UTENSILS. I HAD HOPED TO GET A YEARS WORTH OF USE OUT OF THEM, WILL BE LUCKY TO GET THREE MONTHS.

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable Handle

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable HandleI have only used this over a stove, not a fire, but it heats up really well.I heat it for 3-4 minutes first, then slap on the meat and it gets a really nice sizzle and broiler marks.the pan is clever too because it has grease spill indents on both sides to pour off grease.Only negative is the same that all these fold up pans have ... they fold up too easily. There needs to be a locking mechanism so they don't fold up when you are trying to cook with them. Therefore you cannot flip with this pan because the handle will not lock in place.but that is minor. It's also very light which is what I need since I'll be backpacking.

Berndes Tradition 9-1/2-Inch Skillet

Berndes Tradition 9-1/2-Inch SkilletThis is a great skillet.I was looking for a replacement for my existing Berndes 9 1/2 skillet which I have used for 13 years. Stuck with using electric hotplate (instead of my favorite, gas) for all cooking needs, but this skillet still delivers.

I recently purchased this pan thinking it would be like many others I have experienced in the past. But it wasn't.It is a heavy duty, excellent, non-sticking pan.I do all the cooking in my home and have for over 40 years of being married. My wife simply doesn't cook.So when my other non-stick surface pan "died" I went shopping.I read with great interest other reviews of the Berndes tradition and decided to give this a try.We lived in Germany for two years and most things built by German companies, sadly, far exceed most American companies for the same product. This is true for this pan.The price is a little higher than the other brand names, but the quality far exceeds your expectations.I don't think you will be disappointed. As soon as Christmas is over and I see where our budget is, I am going to order another one.

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 3-Qt. Covered Saute Pan

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 3-Qt. Covered Saute PanI've been slowly replacing my kitchenware with new stuff as it wears out and the KitchenAid Hard Anodized pans are definitely the way to go.So much tougher than the old fashioned Teflon nonstick pans!I now own several of this brand and couldn't be happier.

The pans have a nice, sturdy feel without being too heavy or awkward and the clear lids are a real bonus.I was afraid that the lids would rattle and drip water down the sides when simmering stuff because there is no vent hole, but so far I've been pleased to note that the lids keep a pretty tight seal and only allow a little steam to escape.Bottoms of the pan live up to the advertising and heat up quickly and evenly. The 3 Qt. size is very versatile...just the right combination of a short pot/large, deep skillet for browning meat, preparing small batch chili/soup, or making large vegetable side dishes.Clean up couldn't be easier...just let the cookware cool, wipe out with a paper towel, and give a quick swipe with a soapy dish cloth and you are done.No elbow grease needed!

I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment in the kitchen with these products.

Fantastic pan and what a great buy for the price. Will definately buy more KitchenAid Cookware, when I need to replace my exsisting ones.: )

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Corn Pan

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Corn Pani had been looking for a product like this for some time. in theory its supposed to make these little corn shaped and textured corn bread sticks (basically mini corns of cob) but the reality is that the pattern on the pan is so intricate that the batter "sticks" after baking and is near impossible to remove in the intended form of the design. maybe someone with more baking experience can make this thing work properly but i have had no such luck.

This is a fabulous pan!I used it last night for cornbread and the sticks turned out great and no sticking!Remember to preheat your pan before adding the mix!It is better than my grandmother's pan!

Smart Planet BM-1 Brownie Bar Maker

Smart Planet BM-1 Brownie Bar MakerI love kitchen toys, and when I saw this on a Groupon deal for $19.99, couldn't resist getting it. I make home made baked good which I sent to troops, and having something like this in addition to my regular two oven stove makes the work go a lot faster...at least, that was my rationale for buying it! :o)

I first tried it with a brownie mix, and filled the wells about 1/4" from the top that gave me about 12 brownies (2 batches in the machine). As far as timing goes, I see someone wrote a review in which she said that she baked her cake for as long as was indicated on the box from the mix; common sense should tell you that a smaller size produce will require less baking time...but some people just don't think.I looked at the recipes in the included booklet, even though I wasn't making them at the time, to get a rough idea of baking time, and started to check my brownies at the minimum recommended time. As you get more familiar with the machine, you'll learn how much time is needed for various different things.

The first time I used my brownie bar maker it was a little tricky to get them out of the pan, but then had an idea: I now turn the machine upside down (with the lid closed) and lift the bottom (which is now on top); the perfectly intact bars can then be easily removed with a non-metal spatula, and the machine is ready to go again right away.

I use a butter flavored spray in the wells for each batch; a damp paper towel is really all you need for clean-up.

This is a fun little gadget well worth the price. I'm thinking it's a nice item to use to introduce a little girl to the joys of baking.

Enjoy the size of bars. Is not quicker than oven baking (17 min) but saves

heating the oven. Enjoyable way to have fresh baked goods in hot weather. Per my infared temp gun, this bakes at 350 degrees. Made excellent johnny cake bars with precooked ground sausage. Plan to make snack sized cake bars and freeze for later. Works very well.

Works really slick, biggest complaint I have is getting the brownies out of the maker without breaking them because the bottom is more narrow than the top. I ended up turning it over and they fell right out, which worked the best.

I just received this an hour and when I opened the box, I was disappointed. I had just returned a mini-muffin maker, and thought this made only minis. I didn't even want to open the box! I did open the box however, and am glad I did! The wells are deeper than I thought; definitely not muffin high deep, but still pretty good size. You can't see the depth in the photos, so I'll try to upload some. The top has an extra 1/2 or 3/4 of inch to let the product rise. I wantedto make the equivelant similar to a normal sized muffin for breakfast, but I had plans for other uses as well. I washed the unit since it smelled like manufacturing oils and even after I washed it, it still smelled a little. I figured it was the insides (I was right, and it went away by the end of the second batch). I refuse to own a machine that can't be thoroughly washed. I held the cord up and after soaping it up, rinsed it well. Sprayed very little non-stick spray and let it heat up. I prepared half a box of vanilla cake mix and poured it up to about 1/4 from the top of the well. The book states that the red light will turn red when ready, but will frequently turn on and off to maintain the temperature of the unit. That means the light does not indicate when ready, but I really don't think it's needed, since it bakes the cakes up so fast. The book states to close the top as soon as you pour the in the batter. Both batches came out evenly cooked. The tops touched the top plate on the first batch, but no big deal-just a flatter top. Poured 1/2 ince from the top the next time and the tops had risen nicely on the second batch. The cakes came out fluffy! My kids ate one each plain, but then I split them open and put a little whipped cream on top. I cut mine open too and a portion of a sliced banana on each half. YummY!!! The cake size is about the size of a twinkie (I haven't had a twinkie in a while, so it may not be exactly that size). It may be a little shorter, but if so, then only by a little. I think eating one is great portion control; eating two is like eating an oversized muffin. These are so much better than mini muffins! I plan on using this a lot, so I will update as I go along. Good luck with yours!

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Pie Pan 10" CIPIE10

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Pie Pan 10' CIPIE10Something must have happened to quality control since these earlier reviews were written. I based my order upon these other five star reviews. I'll have to assume that the writers were honest and don't work for Sante.

What I took out of the box was a cheaply cast piece of junk ... the iron was pitted, slag chunks were on the side, someone had taken a sander to crudely remove one of them, and to call the quality of the casting "poor" would be raving praise. You could even see swirls in the metal due to temperature differentiation. They must have cast this is someone's barbecue (in China, because that is where it was made).

I went back and read the most popular review of this, by PJ, and the condition of my pan was the polar opposite of what he describes. I guess they cheapened it.

I'm a Prime member and have ordered more than 100 items per year from Amazon. I've only sent one thing back, a pair of shoes that were the wrong size.

This will be item 2.

I am new to cast iron and love this pan. You do need to look up how to take care of your pans (never, ever use soap!), but they give an excellent flavor and are a wonderful kitchen tool. This is not only for pies, but for anything that might need cooking in the oven. We had some great cornbread made in this pan. It gives such a great flavor that glass and other pans cannot give.

I recently purchased many items from the Sante/Cabin Kitchen cast iron line (loaf pan, pie pan, and pizza pans) and a Lodge Logic skillet. I do prefer the seasoning on the Lodge pan to the seasoning on the Sante line, but that was taken care of with a bit of scrubbing and re-seasoning of the Sante pans. The seasoning on the Sante pans gave a slightly odd smell the first time the pan was heated and turned my dishwashing brush brown the first time I cleaned it (before using it). Once the brown stopped coming off, I used my own oil (Grapeseed) to condition it. The tag recommends using their brand conditioner, but I would guess it is why the pan smelled a bit funny and was coming off brown/black, so I won't be buying that. I have had no issues with my pans since I used Grapeseed oil and they are wonderful.

I use Grapeseed oil to condition/season my pans and always heat them in the oven to make sure they are completely dry. (I used Canola oil once to condition it and it just leaves a sticky, gooey mess). If some food is totally stuck on the pan, you can use a mixture of salt and oil to scrub the pan. You will need to be sure to oil and heat the pan after this.

I only bought one of these to start but now I am wishing for one more since I like to make pies/quiches in sets of two (we are a family of four good eaters with a fifth on the way).

I love old-time cooking, including pies.I make my own pie crusts and all... I even use a few antique items to put me in the mood.I also love cast iron cookware so I was excited when I found this item.I received it and it really is great quality! No huge pores or sketchy looking spots that you find with some cheap cast iron pans (I don't know about now days but old foreign made pans you have to inspect pretty well).Anyway, it has the brand Cabin Kitchen and a little cabin molded on the bottom and is just all around attractive. As with all cast iron the heat distribution is nice and even. The crust did not shrink even a hair.Best of all this is pre-seasoned so it doesn't stick.Looks great on a shelf or wall too next to the antique rolling pin when not in use.I also made some corn bread in it...just because I wanted to :)You can't beat the price and I shouldn't have to mention durability. This sucker will last forever as long as you don't put it in the dishwasher..!

This is a fine cast iron pie pan, with thinner, tapered edges (as seen from the product photo). Even so, it has a very nice heft, and was as pre-seasoned as any of my Lodge pre-seasoned products when i first received them. i was originally a bit hesitant to purchase this product based on some of the poor reviews of non-Lodge pans, but took the chance anyway, mainly because there were few options for a cast iron pie pan, and none had the unique edging this one has.I've now used it for frying bacon and eggs on the stove like a griddle, and i've just made cinnamon rolls this morning (see pictures i've attached to this review).I've yet to make a pie, but i highly recommend this productit works as you would expect from cast iron, which is my metal of choice for baking.

Note: oddly, my cinnamon roll pics are not showing up here and keep disappearing after a day... sorry if you are not seeing them either at this time. However, they rise up fluffy and light, don't stick to the pan even with syrupy sugar, and the pan stays warm for longer than they're around!

Lodge Logic Dutch Oven with Loop Handles

Lodge Logic L8DOL3 Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven with Dual Handles, 5-QuartWhen I saw the price, free shipping, and factory pre-seasoning,this dutch oven proved irresistable. The size is great and the black color was attractive.Sadly, the factory pre-seasoning did not meet expectations! I learned to cook using cast iron, and I still own several "original finish" cast iron skillets, griddles and specialty pans (tri-ply stainless steel is wonderful, but some things just cook more evenly with cast iron). While cast iron is not difficult to season,it was just an added bonus to order a dutch oven that I thought would have an even, well applied finish to begin the seasoning process (properly seasoned cast iron pans only get better over the years). When the dutch oven arrived, I was surprised by what seemed to be a discoloration under the finish on the inner surface of the pot lid. I used the dutch oven for the first time to make chili. The steam from the chili caused the "pre-seasoning" on the inner surface of the lid to mottle badly, and the area that had initially appeared discolored was revealed to be covered withrust. A tell-tale metallic smell was also present (usually a sign that your pan might need to be seasoned again). Needless to say, I was disapointed. This pan proved to be MORE effort than the original finish pans since I had to scrub down the lid to remove the remainingmottled pre-seasoning, and to remove the rust. I then just seasoned the lid properly the old-fashion way in my oven. All in all, the Dutch oven is well worth $25 (and the saved $12.66 in shipping charges is also appreciated), but the Lodge Cast Iron Manufacturing Co. has a reputation for quality that this finish did not meet.I contacted the company to express my concerns (ie, did I need to take additional steps to remove all of the factory applied finish) and to ask if this problem was evident in other pans in the pre-seasoned line. The Lodge Co. has not responded to my email. Bottom line, before paying full price plus shipping, for anything in the pre-seasoned line, I would compare the cost to the original finish, or to the beautiful new Lodge enamel cast iron items.

Short review. This will become one of the most important pieces in your kitchen.I like the handles better than the other lodges, and NOTHING compares to cast iron.

Alton Brown raves about this thing and for good reason. He also writes of a casserole pot, don't get it unless you are a chef. This works everywhere that one does.An excellent buy.

My only word of caution.I love the loop handles, but IF you are one of the rare people who still cook with a campfire, get the other 5qt lodge.

First off I enjoy quality kitchen tools. I never minded paying for a quality tool. But when you get prenium quality at a rock bottom price, well it just doesn't get any better than that. Also any of the cast iron products from Lodge will easily last a lifetime or two, with minimal care. I previously owned a 7 quart duch oven and loved it. But my daughter finally has moved out, and it's just the wife and I at home now, so I downsized to a 5 quart dutch oven. I was happy to see Lodge offer a dutch oven with side handles instead of a wire bail, because we do most of our cooking at home in our oven, not at a campfire. The 5 quart dutch oven and 10 inch skillet would be a perfect gift for someone just starting out in life. They probably would not realize the value of what they recieved, until they are cooking a pot roast or a pot of chili for their grandchildren thirty years later. Update May 2011. I just purchased another Lodge 5qt. dutch oven to give to my daughter's boyfriend as a birthday gift. We gave him a 12" Lodge cast iron skillet a few months back, and he loves it! Our daughter tells us he uses it every single day. So we thought we would add to his cast iron collection, by giving him a 5qt. dutch oven. At the very least he can learn to make chili and pot roast. By the way, I got an exception deal on this dutch oven on Amazon.com. The lowest price I have ever seen on this item, and free shipping too. I hope he learns to love this Lodge 5 qt. dutch oven as much as he does his Lodge 12" skillet. Once you learn to use your cast iron dutch oven, your crock pot will never get used again. Our grandparents knew something that many people today don't know. Cast Iron cookware works well, and works for the long run.

The dutch overn itself is just what I expected: sturdy and indestructible cast iron. The pre-seasoning was blotchy. I removed it with detergent and water, then re-seasoned using the directions in the old Joy of Cooking: coat generously with grease/oil, place in 450 degree F. oven for 30 minutes. Much better.

Why five stars if the title says "fourteen pounds of grief"? Read on.

I got this probably six months ago, and had a moment of laziness. Normally, I'd go ahead and add several more layers of seasoning, even on the pre-seasoned iron. But I didn't this time. Which was ok. The Lodge pre-season isn't perfect, and they don't claim it is. It's just a good head start.

Shortly after I got this, my wife and I left my step-daughter house-sitting for the weekend. When we got back, I found my new dutch oven ruined. Apparently, my step-daughter had burned something in it, helpfully grabbed a stainless steel scrubby and some Comet cleaner and tried to scrub out the crunchies. She only succeeded in scrubbing off the seasoning, but not the burned-on stuff. So she threw it in the sink to soak.

Yep, pretty much a complete list of things you should not do to cast iron.

The bottom four inches of the dutch oven were solid orange rust. My wife took one look at the expression on my face and started hustling her daughter out the front door. I wasn't going to kill her. Honest. Especially when I realized that the five-quart pot was way too big to serve as an urn for her ashes.

Instead, I grabbed some sandpaper, took the rust down to bare metal, coated the pan with lard and threw it in the oven. Rinse, lather repeat.

And that's the beauty of cast iron. You can't mess it up, and if you do mess it up, you can fix it. My dutch oven is better now than when it was new, and it will only continue to improve.

It's forever-ware. Lodge makes a great product, right here in America, and you can't buy better cast iron. I love mine for stews, and for the occasional batch of no-knead bread. Oven, cooktop or charcoal grill, this dutch oven turns out delicious food.
