Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni Full-Clad Copper Exterior Saute Pans

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 12 Inch Full-Clad Copper Exterior Saute PanI sigh with pleasure when my eye catches my copper-clad Barazzoni pots hanging in my kitchen. The pots are beautiful and they perform excellently. They have an elegant shape; a soft, but sturdy feel to the handles, and they have a nice weight--not light-weight, but not too heavy to lift or maneuver either. The line is called "Butterfly" and it was designed by Claudio Bellini. They feel good. The cool-to-the-touch handles are made of oxidized metal that creates a dull black finish that compliments and highlights the gleam of the copper. The handles are on the slim side, but they still work fine for my long, thin fingers.

I am reviewing the 3.5 quart-size pan that is one of the sizes available here.It has a handled lid, and besides the long handle on the pan, there is also a "helper" handle on the opposite side.Looking at the pictures, it might not be obvious to see: The lid is shiny stainless steel with the same dull black handle as the pot.

I bought this size because I love my Calphalon Contemporary non-stick 13" diameter, deep-sided skillet. This pan is basically the same size.I really like the high walls--seems to serve my purpose more often than my low-sided 12" skillet.I also like the way the pots angle in slightly at the top--the shape seems to help hold and distribute the heat. I have a Viking gas cook top that does not allow a very low simmer flame and with this line of pots I can achieve a small, very slow bubble simmer that I usually cannot create and maintain.

How to clean? Cleaning these copper pots is a breeze if you use Wright's Copper Cream.Wright's Copper Cream Polish, 8-oz. This is a great product that never scratches (always make sure your sponge is clean and your pot is already washed.) "Elbow grease" is not necessary either, if you don't wait too long between treatments. You can clean a copper pot in a minute or two.

With this Barazzoni Butterfly line, I do not believe that quality or performance could be affected by pot size--they will all work wonderfully well. And the lip is the same on the entire line, so they should all be "dripless".

Unsurpassed in utility, quality, usefulness and beauty. If you can afford the price, buy as many as you can find magnificent.

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 14 Inch Saute Pan

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 14 Inch Saute PanThe pan seems to be a little shallow and a little lightweight but it has not warped or failed me. In general, reviews of less expensive pans suggest that the nonstick surface wears off over time.I will not feel bad about replacing this pan when the time comes because it was reasonably priced. It looks like you need to get into the $200 to $300 range to get a really high quality pan. For the price, this one is an overall good deal.

The metal on this pan is way too thin. When on my largest burner and on low heat, the bottom warps and is no longer flat. It begins to rock on the burner. The heat transfer is also horrible. The center of the pan burns the food, but the edges don't even cook. This pan might be ok for a sauce that you have to constantly stir, but is horrible for anything that has to sit for even one minute. One star is one too many for this pan. I sent it back.

Great item. It is well made. Used it the first day for Christmas brunch. It allows you to prepare A LOT of food. The only thing I was surprised at how heavy it is. It takes two hands to lift it.

Panini Grill (Refurbished)

Panini GrillReceived this as a gift and thought it was great but, probably like many kitchen appliances, would not be used often. I don't use it everyday, but I use it a lot and not just for sandwiches. I have cooked shrimp, fish, garlic bread, and chicken and have been very pleased with the results. It is an absolutely great way to reheat leftover pizza since it crisps the bottom as well as heating it through. We have had the press for a year and my husband and I both use it once or twice a week. I believe the label 'panini press' implies it is more limited than it is. It has variable height and heat, with a sear setting, so it is really quite versatile. I plan to give 2 as Christmas presents this year. Also, it is very easy to clean with a damp cloth, but it might be nice to have removable plates and it should have a power button rather than turning on/off using the plug.

I have used both the Cuisinart and now the Breville so glad I have the Breville!

I used the Cuisinart Gourmet grill at my daughters' house and decided I had to have one. While researching I found this Breville and chose it because it seemed sturdier and more substantial; it stored upright out of the way; and it was about $25 cheaper.I made a great decision.I have had it about a month and have used it for toast, quesadillas, chicken breast, paninis, grilled cheese and I even cooked bacon strips in it! (Multiple settings make this possible.)I have a small kitchen and very few one-use appliances. This little guy stores upright out of the way but easy to get to...love it.

The grills aren't removable but they are still very easy to clean.I am thinking about getting one of these for my mom.Definitely would recommend it.

After a good deal of research, I purchased two of these for Christmas gifts. I was a little worried about the idea of giving refurbished grills for gifts, but both of our kids said they are wonderful. Because of their reviews, I will be replacing my panini maker with this one!

We first saw this model in action from a family member who had paid full price. We have been very happy with our grilled sandwiches. Thanks to Amazon reviews, we also found out that it is great for reheating pizza when you let the top plate hover over the toppings instead of touching like you do with a sandwich. The best part is that the top is hinged so that you can adjust the height. There were no signs that this was a refurbished item. We've had it for a couple of months and use it at least once a week.

Want Panini Grill (Refurbished) Discount?

I had no problems with the product being refurbished. There were only a couple signs the press was refurbished (eg there was 1 minor scratch on the nonstick coating and paper manual was a little wrinkled). Otherwise, the press looked brand new. I believe this is the same press Williams Sonoma is selling at full price, so this is definitely a good deal. The panini press came with the manual and all the accessories (e.g., scrapper and tray). Breville makes a high quality, study press. The exterior print on the box stated 1 year warranty, so I assume it has the same warranty as if it were new.

It's very easy to use. I've used the sear setting to grill chicken breast, strip steak, onions, and red peppers. Then I set the dial setting to panini and make delicious panini sandwiches.

Cleanup is also pretty easy. However, you will use some paper towels in the clean up process. While it's still hot, I use the scrapper, followed by wet paper towels. When it cooled off, I clean with more paper towels.

I'm very happy with this panini press. It makes a great meal.

MIU France Tri-Ply Stainless Steel and Aluminum Sauté Pan with Lid, Silver, 5-Qt.

MIU France Tri-Ply Stainless Steel and Aluminum Sauté Pan with Lid, Silver, 5-Qt.I'm a little surprised this saute pan doesn't have more reviews. It has a clunky "commercial kitchen" type feel to it, but it has worked well in the month or so I have had it.I have browned meat, boiled water and cooked pasta in it, made large batches of pasta sauce in this saute pan, and throughout it all this pan has been easy to clean, as far as stainless cookware goes.

It's only claim to "tri-ply" is its base, but for what I use a saute pan for, that is enough. The main reason I bought the MIU Stainless 5-Qt Saute Pan, aside from it being large (11" diameter, straight sides, 5 qt capacity) and coming with a lid, was that it had welded handles and was usable on induction hobs.Obviously, I am on the side of the welded handle camp, versus the riveted handle camp, for ease of cleanup and being able to run my cooking utensils smoothly around a pan.

The MIU Stainless 5-Qt Saute Pan with Lid doesn't have the heft (or price) of the analogous Sitram or Demeyere piece, but in my home kitchen, it does what I ask it to.I can't comment yet on the durability of the weld jobs since I've only had it for such a short time.I would recommend this saute pan as a serviceable, cheaper albeit less well-constructed alternative to other welded-handle, stainless steel cookware, such as Sitram or Demeyere.

T-fal Performance Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Fry / Saute Pan, Silver

T-fal C8390564 Performance Stainless Steel Copper Bottom 10.5-Inch Fry / Saute Pan, SilverI ordered this skillet because meats don't brown well in our nonstick skillet. After years of using nonstick, I had to relearn what my mother taught me--preheat dry on medium high heat until droplets of water "dance" in the pan when tossed from fingertips, then add 1 tablespoon oil and coat the bottom of the pan. Add food before oil gets smoking hot. To avoid sticking, do not try to turn food until cooked halfway through.

The heavy copper bottom distributes heat evenly, allowing even cooking. Sticking is minimal, even with delicate foods like tilapia and eggs.

Best of all, deglazing this pan produces a nice sauce to serve over the meat, not the watery broth I used to get with the nonstick skillet.

Two weeks into using this skillet, I don't know how I managed without it.

I love this pan!Nothing sticks.I just spray it with cooking spray and can fry eggs without them sticking to the pan.Fried eggplant and everything browned perfectly!I recommend this pan to anyone who seriously loves to cook!!Cleanup is a breeze too.Price is just right.

for the prices that Tfal offers, it is simply one of the best brands to buy if you cannot afford the unbelievable expensive calphalon, cuisinart etc...

for a 1/3 of the price you will an excellent pan that heats up quickly, distributes heat evenly and cleans like a CHARM!

this is the first stainless steel pan that I have owned and so far it's been amazing.

For those people complaining about sticking... it's stainless steel folks you need to know how to adjust the heat correctly for food not to stick

There are certain tips and tricks that chefs in restaurants use to prevent sticking on stainless steel cookware one of them was by none other than Alton Brown in his Good Eats show where he was pan searing a fish fillet.

His trick was to put some form of fat in the pan first (oil, butter etc...) and as soon as the fish hits the HEATED pan, move it by shaking the pan back and forth for like 30 seconds and that will prevent the fish from sticking to the pan until it forms a nice crust on its outside

This is not the best stainless steel pan you can ever buy, but for under 30$ it surpasses many others than cost more than twice as much. Tfal is still one of my favorite brands to use. Most of my kitchen ware consists of Tfal pots and pans and I have been very happy with them.

This was part of my first foray into stainless steel cookware, and there's no going back!

I have used non-stick for many years and I've smelled the terrible smell of teflon burning. I don't like the idea of chemicals leeching into my food and Stainless, Copper, or Aluminum pots and pans allow you to cook at much higher temperatures than what is safe with non-stick. This means you can do what chefs have always told us to do -put cold oil on a hot pan (and not the other way around) :)

Higher temperature cooking (as well as not worrying about scraping off teflon coating) has allowed me to cook differently than I did before. I have had a lot of fun pan-frying meat until it's nice and crispy without worrying about consequences. Although this pan is technically too small for a lot of stir fry, it also enables you to do quick, hot methods to prepare food.

The problem I've had with other stainless steel cookware is their neglect toward ergonomics. I'm not sure why companies would design thin, crampy handles, but T-Fal has done us all a favor and made something completely comfy.

In terms of staining, my pan does not look like it did originally, but I'm sure with some Barkeep's Friend I can get it back to normal. But hey, I use my cookware to cook, not as a set-piece!

For the price, you cannot do better than this pan. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope T-Fal enjoys success and produces more in this line of products.

This pan cooks very well even with low or medium heat and with no sticking! The pan spreads heat very evenly because there is a solid copper disk about 1/4 " thick encapsulated with stainless steel in the bottom. It's heavy but the handle is very comfortable to hold and it stays cool. It is tubular stainless steel and is very securly welded to the pan itself. This pan just seems much more expensive and well made than the price would indicate.

Precise Heat 16-Inch Rectangular Surgical Stainless Steel Electric Skillet

Precise Heat 16-Inch Rectangular Surgical Stainless Steel Electric SkilletJust bought this using my son's amazon prime account, paid $99.95Did my homework on this one as I did not want to buy another dissapointing product...

My friend uses her stainless steel electric skillet daily. It sits on her island which overlooks the rest of the house making it ideal for daily cooking and entertaining.Did not think I NEEDED another gadget in my kitchen, as part of me was stuck on the traditional pots and pans (spent too much $$ to consider subtituting or replacing them) but after watching her cook up a storm, flawlessly, while keeping up a conversation and watching what's going on with everyone else in the room for years, I gave in.Where has this been my whole life?Really! Waitied till my kids left for college to try this?Clueless and stubborn!Actually, the smoking gun was, I needed something bigger then a crock pot and easy enough to carry to my son's college football tailgating parties whereas I could cook something, put it in the fridge, then my trunk for a 2-3 hour drive, then plug it into an outlet to heat and keep warm.Voila!!!

First, picked this one because it is stainless steel AND heavy duty, as both my friend and I are resolute on not using anything covered with chemicals or nonstick stuff because regardless of how well you take care of them, they wear down.I prefer to spend an extra few minutes washing something then to have teflon like particles in our food. Was not easy finding one that is stainless steel, as mass marketing big box stores favor all the non-stick stuff, which is likely cheeper to manufacture and is an easy sell to mass consumers who prefer "easy".Since I was in no hurry I checked them out at a few stores while shopping there Costco, Walmart, Target Sears, Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond.Thought I could scoop one up quickly while getting a feel for what's out there, but most were light, flimsy and full of buzzwords like "nonstick and dishwasher safe", not what I was looking for. Really? Oh hail the "internet"!!! How did we ever survive without it?Who doesn't love being an educated consumer, not wasting time driving from store to store, and getting stuff fast without any shipping charges?

Second, it's easy to clean, just add a few cups of hot water when done, gently scrape the bottom with any non-metal spatula, then wash with a sponge.I never use harsh chemicals, powders, metal scrubbers, or the dishwasher to wash pots and pans as it wears down the coating, regardless what the manufacturer says.I think what makes it so easy to clean is mainly that it cooks so evenly and is made out of strong metals. I prefer natural staining as opposed to shining, spotless silent health risk gadgets...

Third, it's big, maybe too big for some folks, but I prefer the bigger size, even as an empty nester, as I can cook once and save for later.Easy to stir fry vegetables, then steam slightly, not overcook.Just spayed the bottom with extra light olive oil, using real OO poured into an aerosol container.Made chicken breast, first browned then steamed.WOW best quality cooking ever!!!Endless possibilities, leaves the stove top free too...Can't wait for my boys to come home for Thanksgiving!!!

Fourth, it's beautiful, because of the polished stainless steel it is not an eye sore when left on the counter.Great for entertaining as it looks like something you would see at a high end buffet restaurant or catering facility.

Finally, in summary, this one is safe, cooks amazingly great, heats fast and keeps food warm. It's a keeper!!!Promise to let you know if there are any durability issues down the road but so far, though nothing is perfect, this one is close.

Skillet is stainless steel and looks good enought to be used as a serving dish.Is not non-stick finish inside which we did not want since these surfaces don't last too long and have to have special care. All that is required is a little scrubbing on the cooking surface to keep it shiny. We're well satisfied.

The stainless steel electric skillet works great just have to adjust to getting used to the way it heats for cooking as compared to the others that have that toxic coating in them.....cleans up nice...I noticed some people wanting to wash it in a dishwasher but with anything electric like this ...I would wash by hand...it's not gonna kill ya....food tastes great from it...I am pleased with it's function...looks...price....quality....and speedy delivery.

This product looked hot when I got it, but then after a couple months it started to fail.First the thermostat didn't seem very accurate, then the indicator light failed, then it seemed to short in the dial. After that it heated only one part of the element, boiled one part of the pan while not heating the rest of the pan.Now the dial seems not to work at all.I bought this through an Amazon affilliate and now don't know where to go for warranty. One retailer stated it had a five year warranty, but I can't find manufacturer info stating the same.I am now quite cold about this cool looking but now not working electric fry pan.I am now looking to replace it

I purchased two Precise Heat Electric Skillets and they are so similar that I will review both. I purchased thePrecise Heat 12in Round Stainless Steel Electric Skillet KTES3and the Precise Heat 16" Rectangular Skillets. If you buy both Be sure to label each cord becuase they look the same but are rated differently and you would not want to confuse them.

I purchased them from an alternative online seller on Sears.com to compare them and return the one I liked less but found out after receiving them that there was a %15 restocking fee as well as $28 return shipping charges so I decided just to keep them both. My point is, know who you are buying from. Amazon is great, the alternative sellers on here...read the fine print. And NEVER order from alternative sellers on Sears.com., becuase you can not simply drop off items you want to return.

First the Pro's:

Out of the box these are very elegant and have a beautiful polished stainless finish.

They are not too heavy to manage even when full of food.

They are Stainless Steel which is much healthier than Teflon coated.

The hollow handles stay cool.

The lid handles get hot, but I used a washcloth to grab them while cooking to stir and that was enough protection.

While I did not let food burn in them, Washing was an absolute breeze. Much better than my Calphalon SS pans. Although it does help that I have a tall faucet in my sink.

No burn in smell the first time I used it.

The construction of these is very curious. There is a vented cover over the bottom and becuase of this the instructions say to not immerse in water. But that was no problem. I washed the inside of the pan at an angle in my sink. Had any food gotten on the outside I would have just wiped it off but not under running water. I noticed a little water did get on the bottom, so being curious I unscrewed the screws on the bottom plate to see how much water got in there. The screws are in the middle of each of four rubber feet. These came out easily. I did get a little water in there and wiped it up. I took pictures of the inside (of the 12" Round model which is similar you can see those by clicking on the link above) You'll see that the inner bottom of the skillet is just like the bottom of a flat electric griddle (like I use for pancakes). So, I am not sure of the purpose of the cover over the bottom, except to perhaps retain heat since the heating coil sits embedded in the aluminum core base which is attached to the bottom of the stainless skillet. Or, maybe it is to protect the counter from the heat? When you put the bottom back on, screw the two screws furthest away from the plug first. The holes do not align perfectly and I found that was the best way to make them match up again.

Now the Con's:

1UNEVEN HEATING: The bottom Stainless Steel portion of the pan is relatively thin. There is definitely a "hot spot" ring exactly over where the heating coil sits in the aluminum disk. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PAN FOR COOKING ANYTHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE STIRRED SUCH AS SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS. On the other hand it was great for ground beef and frozen green beans, since they need to be stirred. But watch out it heated up VERY FAST. Not like a regular thick bottomed stainless pan. Do not put food in it and turn around to do anything else. You should plan to use this on a much lower setting the first time you use it than the temp label would suggest, until you are familiar with it.

2TEMPERATURE CONTROL: There does not seem to be a Low Warming setting. After I cooked my ground beef, I wanted it to simmer with taco seasoning on low heat. I had to keep switching the temperature dial back and forth becuase it goes from off to higher heat than I would like basically boiling.

3 STAINING: The first time I used each one they stained. Now I don;t really care becuase they will always be full of food but I have never seen that happen before. It makes me wonder...what is this Stainless Steel made out of? And how can they call it "Stainless"?

4No GLASS LID to see throughbut the domed lid is very elegant.

Because of the first two problems I give this pan a 3 star rating. I think these are serious flaws especially at the price this is selling for. It this had sold for less than $45.00 I would have given it a 4 star rating.

On the other hand I am still glad to have it, it's pretty for serving guests, and as long as I keep my eyes on it it works. But I really think I should be able to take my eyes off of it and let food simmer or stay warm while serving. IMHO this is what we get since we stopped making quality items in the good old USA and now buy mystery quality items from China.

I do not expect these to last more than 3 years, even with limited use. I think there are problems with both of their thermostats/temp controls. I have read others say that they go out as early as in 3 months time. If you can buy a similar design made in the USA or Europe I recommend you purchase that and not this one.

Trudeau Silicone Pot Lid Rest

Trudeau Silicone Pot Lid RestThis item only holds the lid in two places making it easy for a lid to roll out of it. I wouldn't use this with a glass lid like shown in the photos because there is no way to balance it carefully enough. If only this were designed in a way that held the lid in three places it would be much more secure. Two stars for this company recognizing a need for this item and selling a product. I don't have enough counter space to set the lid down while I am cooking. I also agree that the clip is too difficult to open and I usually can't get it open even if I squeeze with both hands which basically makes this worthless for me. I do like that it is totally covered in silicone though.

good concept of keeping pot lids draining into the pot, but difficult to take on and off every time you have to put the lid back on. It is bendable to accomodate large and small lids, but difficult to bend, especially arthritic hands. would be better if lid fit back on without having to remove the holder.

All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Saute Pan

All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Saute PanI love All Clad cookware & was in the market to add to my collection.Initially, I wanted to buy the 14" fry pan, a wonderful item. The store owner asked me how I would use the 14" fry pan & I told her I wanted to fry & saute in it. I also mentioned I'd try to use it to braise as well.Given the fact I needed a large pan to serve mulitple purposes, the owner recommended I consider purchasing this 6 qt. saute pan instead. The pan has a diameter as wide as the 14" fry pan, & can be used for frying, sauteing & braising.Additionally, the cover is included in the price of this 6 qt. saute pan, unlike the 14" fry pan, which doesn't come w/a cover.I'm aware of the differences between a fry vs saute vs braising pan, but not being a purist & also wanting to conserve on storage space & cost, I bought this 6 qt saute pan. The store owner was correct, I use this pan all the time & it works perfectly as a fry, saute or braise pan. Given it's an All Clad, it has 1st class performance for heating quickly & evenly, cooking perfectly & cleaning up in a flash. Not to mention its beauty & perfect constuction, along with a lifetime guarantee.Don't hesitate to buy this pan!!!

Although I am not a small man, when I came face to face with the 6-quart saute pan on a friend's huge Wolf stove, I felt small. Very small. And weak. While I can easily saute in my own medium-weight 10 inch saute pan, the All-Clad 6-Quart pan requires two hands just to move;it took a deep breath and concentration to actually saute (which means "to jump" in French, and refers to the way you shake the ingredients to cook them evenly). The 6-quart saute pan is so wide that even on the Wolf, it crowded surrounding burners. So don't plan on getting four of these and cooking for an army on a civilian stove; you'll be lucky if it doesn't obstruct all your burners if it's centered on one.

On the plus side, the beauty of a 6-quart 13.5" pan is that you get about 65% more surface area than with a 4 quart 10.5" pan because it's the square of the radius that determines the area and 13.5*13.5=182, whereas 10.5*10.5=110.The quantity that can be cooked at once is limited by surface area if you don't want to crowd veggies or meat, which steams them rather than browning them, resulting in unbrowned meat, soggy mushrooms, etc.

Like other All-Clad stainless, the 6 quart saute pan is not only gorgeous, it's engineered to withstand anything you and your kitchen are likely to throw at it.As Anthony Bourdain so aptly put it in "Kitchen Confidential", there should be no doubt as to which one will dent if your pan hits your head. Unlike All-Clad's impractical Master-Chef and Copper-Chef lines, the stainless ones can be scoured and tossed in the dishwasher without damage.Though do be careful of doing things like heating salt by itself, which can pit stainless.

In conclusion, if you have Popeye arms and a Donald Trump stove, and you cook in volume, this is for you. For the rest of us, the 10 1/2 inch 3 quart or 4 quart models will be more practical. We can always use more than one pan.

Buy All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Saute Pan Now

How do you pan fry 6 thick Rib Eye Steaks at the same time so as not to miss a minute of the Academy Awards? You do them in this 6 quart saute pan. That way your time away from your guests and the TV are kept to a minimum.

Fire the burner up to super high, pour in a bit of Peanut oil and wait till the smoke begins, throw in the steaks, put on the lid, brown for approx 3 minutes on each side and finish off in a hot oven for 15 minutes. De-glaze the pan with some good Pinot Noir, add butter, salt and pepper for a quick sauce.

It's a snap to pan fry in this manner in these pans because of the superior heat distribution: no hot or cold spots...even heat throughout.

Another great thing about the All-Clad Stainless line is that clean up is very easy: accomplished with some hot water, soap and a sponge.

Unfortunately I was highly disappointed in this product since I have other All-Clad pieces. It had a design flaw. The middle of the pan was much higher than the edges, so when you put oil in it to cook something, all the oil would run to the edges of the pan.I ordered three of these thinking it was just a fluke, but all of them had the same problem in varying degrees.

Want All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Saute Pan Discount?

This was my first all-clad purchase. I was replacing a very large non-stick skillet from Le Creuset. This is a much better pan.

The good:

1. It's huge. I can cook 6 boneless chicken breast pieces at once.

2. It cleans easily. Even burnt on stuff comes off easily with a little Barkeeper's Friend.

3. It holds up well. I've had mine for about 1.5 years now, and it still looks basically new.

4. It can go into the oven

5. It comes with a lid, as saute pans generally do. But I didn't have a lid for my previous pan, so I appreciate it.

6. Did I mention it's huge? It's huge. Whatever you're trying to cook...it will fit.

7. For such a huge pan, it does a very good job of distributing heat and cooking evenly. I can't compare to the other all-clad lines, but this heats very well. My Le Creuset (cast iron interior) heated evenly too, but you had to preheat for a long time. This heats pretty evenly in just a couple of minutes. It's not flawless, but I can heat the whole huge pan with one big burner.

8. The "all-clad" construction heats up the sides as well as well the bottom, which wasn't true of some of the other stainless pans I looked at.

9. Mine has not warped

10. It handles misuse. I got distracted and ended up burning a bunch of olive oil in the pan: smoke alarms and the whole bit. While it did take some extra time to clean the pan, it did clean. And it cooks just like it always did. A similar mistake is what led to the demise of my Le Creuset pan.

The not so good:

1. It's heavy. Unless you're a body builder, this isn't a one-hand pot. (But that's just the nature of a pan this size)

2. It's large. I don't have a particularly fancy stove, just a regular gas stove. When I'm using this pan, I can comfortably get only one other pan on the stove, in the kitty-korner position. In a pinch I can get two additional pans on the stove. But it's impossible to use four burners while using this pan.

This saute pan is perfect for making delicious sauces.

The heat is distributed evenly without "hot spots". The handles stay warm. I haven't had the handles get too hot for me yet and I've been using this pan for weeks.

The lid is tempered glass and it's perfect for keeping an eye on your cooking.

It is great, sturdy, durable construction and washes very easily.

I am very, very pleased with it all around.

Ecolution Artistry Eco-Friendly Fry Pans

Ecolution Artistry Eco-Friendly 11 Inch Fry PanI have used this a few times a week for several months, and the non-stick surface is performing well. The large size is great for a full meal quantity.

The nonstick surface of the somewhat more expensive Cuisinart Greenware did not perform as well as the Ecolution Artistry.

I am giving it only 4 stars because the environmental attributes of the product are not very impressive.Hydrolon appears to be a patented acrylic material that is made from non-renewable fossil fuels.

Was looking for healthly choice in non-stick at a reasonable price; with good to better quality...i found it in this line of products. Beats competition with no questions. Was very pleased how well it is balanced and handling to flip foods and the non-stick is superb. The bottom/base is perfect and true to description--use on low, med and high heat with excellent results. I took a risk and it surpassed my expectations. Would recommend!(T-Fal, Cuisinart,P.D., Emeril, Ecogreenics, etc. are just a few I have tried)

I can't figure out about all this eco friendly stuff. This is a pan made of metal and coated with a non slip coating. I cook my sausage in it every morning. The reason I bought it was because of the 9.5 in size. Works great and has even heat.

I've already used this pan several times and IT IS AWESOME. It's big and got more of a cooking surface than other pans its size because of the way the sides curl/curve up. It's thick & strong, well made and an easy grip handle. I will look into buying another one of these, maybe the next size smaller.

I bought this pan on Amazon in May '12.

I use the pan 4-5 times a week and it is a great non-stick pan. The non-stick coating is still like new, and the pan performs like the first day I bought it.

I wish I could say the same for the rest of the pan. The handle started to get loose after a couple weeks of use, and I had to add a washer to the bolt that holds it to the pan and for now that is holding well. The enamel like coating on the outside (sides and bottom) of the pan is flaking off and the aluminum is showing.

I have deducted one star for those issues, but the business end (coating) of the pan performs so well, I would still recommend it.

Farberware High Performance Nonstick Stainless Steel Open Skillet

Farberware High Performance Nonstick Stainless Steel Open Skillet, 10-InchWorks well, even butter pools when melting. Excellent for induction range. Remember to never ever use non-stick spray or heat above medium. I know, lots of recipes call for this, but don't do it; use cast iron and spray it all you want. Just wish it came with a lid.

Lodge Original Finish Cast Iron Eight-Section Cornbread Skillet

Lodge Original Finish Cast Iron Eight-Section Cornbread SkilletI have used this pan many times and have even baked cornbread on the grill and have never had a problem with it.The cornbread is browned just right and comes right out of the pan.In addition to seasoning the pan, I preheat the pan for about 15 minutes, then spray it with Pam before dumping in the batter. I like to bake cornbread for stuffing in this pan because the smaller sections get more browning than would be the case in an undivided skillet.I have a growing collection of Lodge cast iron products and I have never been disappointed in the quality and cooking results.Cast iron does require more care but it also holds the temperature better than any other type of cooking vessel. Many of my pans are now so well seasoned that they are virtually non-stick and you can use them on the stove, in the oven, on the grill or over an open fire.I wouldn't trade my Lodge set for the best set of Calphalon available!

I love cast iron cookware, but this pan won't work for me.I seasoned it as instructed but the muffins just wouldn't come out cleanly.Trying to clean it afterwards was a nightmare. I couldn't get the stuck bits out ofthe corners.

My daughter loves cornbread, but evertime I made it she would end up eating crumbs because she could not cut it well. This is really easy for her to get her desired piece from. Also looks nice when presented, everyone has said they look cuuuuute.I have thanked the person who gave me this for christmas many times.

This cast iron pan, as good for scones and quick-breads as it is for cornbread, works flawlessly IF you season it well, preheat it and spray it with non-stick spray. If you keep it seasoned and sprayed, the center won't stick. The first time I used it, I didn't spray it and it stuck in the points (a wooden chopstick or skewer is good for scraping). It cooks things much more evenly than a round or square pan where the middle can be gooey. Because I have celiac disease, I have to make gluten-free recipes which are even tougher to cook in the middle. This pan is outstanding for gluten free doughs as well as ones with gluten. Try it, as I have, with muffin batter, any scone recipe, cornbread, any quick-bread or even yeasted bread. I suspect it would even make good yorkshire puddings with some of the pop of popovers (yorkshire pudding is a giant popover) and lots of other things. I preheat my pan for 10 minutes at 375 or higher, depending on the recipe, then spray it well with Pam or something similar, put in the dough or batter, and bake. It WOULD have been nice to have been told the volume of batter it holds I am buying a second one so I can bake a bigger recipe at one time. It's so inexpensive that this seems the thing to do. Enjoy!

I didn't realize that I had ordered the unseasoned pan until after it had been shipped. No matter! It arrived midmorning today, and it took all of 90 minutes to season the thing according to Lodge's intstructions.

I then cooked a batch of cornbread according to recipe on the back of the Alber's cornmeal box. I left the pan in the oven to preheat, and when the oven reached 400 I removed the pan, shot it with cooking spray, poured in the batter and sat back for 20 minutes. The result was perfect cornbread: the wedges popped right out of the pan without sticking at all. The hot set-up would be to have 2 of these pansthat would equal one standard cornbread recipe.Excellent! And for only 10 bucks!
