Mauviel M'Heritage M250C 6504.26 10.5 Inch Round Frying Pan, Cast Iron Handle

Mauviel M'Heritage M250C 6504.26 10.5 Inch Round Frying Pan, Cast Iron HandleDropped the $200 on this pan and I am not disappointed at all. You really have to be into cooking to appreciate what it is (you know who you are) but once you get it and use it you are so happy you bought it.

I use this pan for lot's of things and the one thing in commmon is that everything turns out just great. Crank up the heat, instant respone. Turn down the heat, instant response. It's an amazing metal copper, and really the best for cooking. I wish I had the guts to buy all the pans I need from Mauviel but for now this is my one little indulgence. All of my All Clad is still secure in that it won't be replaced by this stuff anytime soon. But who knows, one day maybe.....

I purchased this to be used exclusively as an omlet pan. It is a bit heavy, but perfectly balanced. The copper conducts heat evenly up through the sides of the pan. Not only is it perfectly functional it is beautiful hanging on my pot rack. I chose this brand because I refuse to cook on tin or aluminum and this is stainless steel lined. PERFECT!!!! I am looking to add more Mauviel products to collection.

This purchase was a coin toss between it and the similarly

sized All-Clad Copper-Core 10-inch frying pan.I've used both

heavy copper and All-Clad pots and pans for many years and

know the benefits of both.I finally settled on the Mauviel pan

and am extremely pleased with it for all the usual reasons you

read in other reviews.

I performed a comparison between it and the 1.5-quart

All-Clad Copper-Core saucepan and was surprised by the results.

I heated to boiling in each pan 8 ounces of tap water over the

same burner set at high heat. Both pans heated the water evenly

and quickly but the All-Clad beat the Mauviel in both even

dispersion of heat and time to bring the water to a full boil.

I can't see where pan shape and size should account for the

observed differences in performance.Instead, it is likely

that All-Clad's multi-ply metal technology is the difference.

The All-Clad 10-inch is several ounces lighter than the Mauviel.

Were I to do it all over again I would buy the All-Clad

instead of the Mauviel. But, damn, the Mauviel sure looks good

on the stove or hanging from the pot rack.

Whichever is your choice I caution you to moderate your

heat source downward a notch or two. This pan and the Copper Core pan

are very efficient at transferring heat both into and out of its

body and, therefore, the food you're cooking. If you are used to

cooking eggs on medium heat I recommend you reduce it to LOW medium

heat until you get used to the capabilities of the pan.The heat

transfer responsiveness of copper is why experienced cooks and chefs

have favored it for centuries.

Having said all that it must be added that during most of their

history the copper pots and pans were lined with tin, not stainless

steel as is this Mauviel and the All-Clad Copper-Core.Tin, with use

and proper care, developes a "seasoned" surface as does cast iron and

common rolled steel. That seasoning makes the cooking surface signi-

ficantly less sticky which will not happen with stainless steel. There

has been much good advice on how to cook an omelette in a pan of any

metal, but you have to be a rocket scientist to follow the subtleties.

How about PTFE, aka Teflon, lined heavy copper pans? Now that's

the ticket! No?Then practice the following until it becomes part

of your new and gentler style of cooking an omelette.

Preheat the pan over medium heat for one or two minutes then reduce the heat to a low medium. You might even take the pan off the heat for a moment to make sure it is not too hot.Add, at most, about one tablespoon of unsalted butter to the pan and swirl it around to completely coat the bottom of the pan. When the butter stops foaming it is up to tempurature and most of its water has boiled off.Clarified butter is another story.Add two large beaten eggs and tip the pan to allow them to cover the bottom of the pan.Don't scramble them with a fork unless you really want scrambled eggs.Just let them set up by themselves for two or three minutes. Then you'll be able to shake the pan gently and the mass of eggs will slide back and forth. The top center portion should still be wet, but this when you may add cheese or other filling.Pre-cook chicken and other raw meat. With your (thin flexable) spatula you should be able to fold two sides of the omelette over the middle or one half over the other half without breaking it.You decide which pleases you most.If it breaks it cooked too long but will still be delicious.Tip the pan up and over a (warm) plate to release the omelette onto it.All of this may take a bit of practice but is well worth the effort. You will even add your own style and variations to it.You will amaze people!

I read this tip on the Mauviel website and it absolutely works. First off, if you are used to using steel cookware, cut the flame or tempurature you are used to using down about 30-40%. Copper conducts the heat so much better that the higher heats will usually scorch the food. Before you put your food into the pan, Rub a thin layer of peanut oil (it really needs to be peanut oil so that it won't burn) with a paper towel on the inside of the pan, just enough to lightly cover the steel. Heat the pan up to medium heat and allow the peanut oil to "season" to the pan. It will start to bead up slightly like it is sweating. rub it again with the paper towel every few seconds when this starts to happen. After a couple of minutes, the oil will start to smoke slightly. Remove the pan from the heat and you are ready to go. You will probably ned to add a little more oil for eggs of omelets for them to cook in. I did this to my skillet and you would swear that it was non-stick. The seasoning will come off if you wash it with scouring powder. I usually just prep the pan while I am getting my eggs ready. Takes an extra five minutes, but the results are perfect.

I've been cooking for more than fifty (!) years now. I would say that I'm a pretty damn good cook, overall. But inspired by a reawakened interest in _Mastering the Art of French Cooking_, I bought this pan.

Using the pan and Julia's instructions, I produced my first *perfect* omelet on the first try! I made a beautiful grilled cheese sandwich!-something I've done for years under the broiler after bad results using other pans.I have an electric stove; I'm pretty good at controlling the temperature, but this copper pan cools nearly instantaneously when taken off the heat, so controlling the cooking process seems almost magical.

I'm glad I spent the money! Do understand that this is a HEAVY pan. It needs to be heavy to do its work.

Lodge Logic LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle

Lodge Logic LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/GriddleI've got lots of cast iron, but this is my new favorite. Here are a few tips for other users. The griddle is perfectly flat and well-made, but it tips from corner to corner on my burners. It's an issue with the design of my burner grates, not the grill. If you have this problem, just fold up a little piece of foil and stick it under one of the edges that tips. Problem solved.

People often complain about foods spilling off a griddle. If that's happening, then you should cook that type of food in a skillet. Skillets and griddles each have their own purpose, The low profile edges on a griddle are suited to foods that stay put but take up a lot of surface area, like eggs, pancakes, steaks, vegetables. They made the low edge so it will be easy to get a spatula under those foods.Foods that produce lots of grease should not be cooked on a griddle, unless it's just a couple of strips of bacon. If you're trying to cook up lots of greasy food, use a skillet. They are designed to hold liquids, hence the tall sides. So, you guys who complain about grease running off your griddle when you cook a pound of bacon, stop complaining and get a skillet to hold liquids.

Yes, the center will be a little cooler than the ends. Don't worry. This is natural. Use it to your advantage. Put slower-cooking things in the center or add food to the center first so it starts cooking before the food on the ends. Just like on a charcoal grill, it can be helpful to have a "cool zone" (actually a not quite as scorching hot zone). Make sure you let it heat up evenly over low heat before turning it up to medium / medium high, this discourages sticking. Also, for you people moving from teflon, never turn or move food in an iron or steel pan until the food has browned. The food does indeed stick, but then releases from the surface on its own when it is browned. Wait for the food to release itself. Be patient. Also, make sure steaks, etc. have no water on them when you put it on the cooking surface. A little oil helps food release, water encourages sticking.

Clean it while it's hot before it can cool off, or food remnants will be harder to remove. Scrape it with a metal spatula. Then wipe it with a paper towel dipped in oil. Done. Also, clean up will be easier if you cook liquids and super greasy foods in a skillet, which is easier to wield (and clean in a sink) when hot. Don't want to leave your clean, hot griddle to cool on the stove? Use oven mitts to cary it to the oven.

This is a great product. I consider it an essential and helpful sidekick to a 12 inch cast iron skillet. It's ready to go right out of the box. Pancakes came out great and did not stick, even though I used almost no oil on the griddle. Works on the charcoal grill, too for small foods that would fall through the grates. Take it camping as an easy to set up grill. Use it in the oven as a cookie sheet. Great for small pizzas with crispy crust.

Great product. We took it on a week long camping trip and cooked fajitas, pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it on this little griddle. It fits perfect on a dual fual coleman camp stove and was a treat to use.One thing to note: since the camp stove has two different size burners one side gets much hotter than the other. If both burners on your stove have the same output then the griddle will heat evenly. No fault of the griddle, just be aware of what you are using it with.Love the product, considering buying another for our other stove.

Looked all over in stores for a griddle of this size (perfect for RV's or boat stoves)I use it on our boat for almost all my stove top cooking (burgers, eggs, pancakes, toasted sandwiches, etc.)Even though it is pre-seasoned, I have found spraying it with a little olive oil works especially well for eggs.

I always wanted one of these but this is my first cast iron item. There is not much to it but it's perfect. Grill side and smooth side, easy to clean (wipe off with a paper towel). I was a little concerned about how it would work on my glass electric cooktop but it works great!

This product is more than your topnotch Griddle and Grill combination! If you're looking for a baking pan for breads and large loaves, you will be mystified. As a baking tool, the rectangular, heavy surface (preheated in the oven as typical of cast iron) becomes indispensable! Old world bread formulas come to life. Free form loaves, artisan loaves...these all rise with a golden crust making your kitchen an ideal baking venue! Fragrant bread takes your baking to a different level. I'm certain regardless of your baking skills, this will turn into a reusable, practical tool. Yeast breads and sourdough loaves will take you back in time, or perhaps create memorable baking experiences to be savored in memory.

Nordic Ware Pro Cast 10 Inch Saute Skillet

Nordic Ware Pro Cast 10 Inch Saute SkilletWhile Nordic Ware calls this a "texture-infused nonstick surface," this is not a nonstick pan like a Teflon coated one is. This should be classified as a "low stick" pan. For many things, you can cook without added oil and they will slide out just fine, but for tenacious stickers, like eggs, you do need a small amount of oil. Then you'll end up chasing your food around the inside of the pan with spatula, it's that stick free. As with all nonstick cookware, no metallic utensils or cleaning objects (like a stainless steel scrubby), please.

This pan heats up evenly and cooks well. There are no rivets on the inside to collect gunk. Cleaning up the inside of the breeze with just a sweep with a soapy sponge. It is oven safe up to 400°F.

The outside is a different matter. Cleaning the sides is easy, but the bottom of the pan is covered with little nubs (Nordic Ware calls this an "air cushioned bottom") that I guess are supposed to help distribute heat evenly. The pan does heat evenly so I guess they work, but cleaning the bottom is a real pain. If you get any kind of gunk baked on between the nubs it's darn near impossible to clean. If you're anal about this kind of stuff, this will drive you nuts! If you're one of those who likes to hang your spotlessly clean cookware on a rack for all to admire, this pan is not for you. Another effect of the nubs if you have a gas stove: when you shake the pan it doesn't slide over the grates, but "clunk" as the nubs catch the burner grate bars.

Overall though, this is a great pan. It's nicely balanced, heats evenly, and cleans up easily. Highly recommended, but just remember this is a "low stick" pan not a "nonstick" pan. Made in America is a bonus.

Purchased this pan one month ago to replace an equivocally priced pan (made in China) that was no longer non-stick.We've made cheese omelets, BBQ, and many other dishes, non sticking and wipes clean with just a paper towel.Completely satisfied and it's made in the USA.

HIC Brands that Cook Essentials Stainless Steel Splatter Screen

HIC Brands that Cook Essentials Stainless Steel Splatter Screen, 13-InchI bought two of these in different sizes.Excellent.I like the handle (much better than the silly knob in the middle of some such lids).Well made.Fine mesh stainless steel, will clean easily without rusting. My last splatter lid had a sort of thick mesh, with gaps inside it where it was impossible to clean. These don't.

Spatters go through the screen.Same cleanup as without so not impressed.Maybe I expected too much and hoped it would reduce the stove cleanup.

If you care for this item it will last a long time. Splatter screens are good for stopping splatter but also good for keeping heat in a a pan. It helps the food cook a little faster without totally blocking the airflow. I like to use it when the eggs are almost done cooking and you turn it off to set. It keeps the heat in the pan to finish off the eggs. I have also used it to set fried foods on to drain, and as a cooling rack for the to many cookies I baked. :) Think outside of the box and you will have lots of uses for your kitchen tools...no unitaksers! :)

Nostalgia Electrics CKM-100 Electric Cupcake Maker

Nostalgia Electrics CKM-100 Electric Cupcake MakerI had already purchased this for my 11 yr old daughter as a Christmas gift when I read the other negative review. I decided to give it a try anyway but I'm very glad I was prepared for a bad experience because we sure had one! I stayed right by the unit after we plugged it in. After a few minutes, there was a slight burning odor and some wisps of smoke stated coming out near the back. The booklet included warned that there may be some smoking and odor when first heating up because of chemicals burning off the heating element and non stick surface, so I thought it might be normal. Then the smoke got heavier and the odor took on the very recognizable scent of melting/burning plastic. I immediately unplugged it and lifted the lid carefully. Smoke poured out, the inside on the top lid was bubbled and charred looking, the red plastic around the edges and sides was melted and bubbled. My house was filling with that nasty plastic burning smoke so I took the unit outside and opened all the doors and windows.

The only silver lining is that we never actually put any batter into the machine! We are now about to put the cupcakes into the oven. My daughter was very disappointed by I had prepared her for the possibility based on the previous review. We will be returning this to the store, as per the manual. Hopefully we can find another cupcake maker that works safely.

My daughter received this as a gift and just like some of the other reviews indicated...smoke, burning...a MESS.

Do not buy this!

I received the mini cupcake pan as a Christmas present. I wiped down the machine as directed and lightly coated it with oil as directed. I then turned it on to heat up. Was that ever a mistake! It is now outside because the toxic odor from the bubbling paint and smoke was making my eyes burn terribly. This is a very dangerous appliance and I highly recommend that no one use this. When I called the manufacture I was told that they have had no complaints about this and I must have received the one defective muffin maker. Really? Clearly after reading other reviews that is not the case and I am very unimpressed with Nostalgia Products for being dishonest with me.I am returning this and will not purchse another one ever.

Read Best Reviews of Nostalgia Electrics CKM-100 Electric Cupcake Maker Here

Okay, to the reviewer who didn't know it was a mini cupcake machine did you look at the pictures before purchasing? Oh well.

I don't understand why people are rating this so negative! I received one for Christmas from a family friend and have had no troubles with it. I wiped it down as instructed before using, sprayed a little Pam for baking on it, added the batter and BOOM! wonderful mini banana nut muffins my first go around. I thought it was too good to be true so I made another batch with chocolate chips the nonstick was awesome! No residual chocolate left in the little molds and they came out perfectly.

I haven't heard or read anything negative about them until I came across it here. Like with all electronics such as this there runs a risk of overheating and electrical issues ( I had one with a foreman grill and yet they're still huge sellers) but I haven't read too much about this machine. I had it plugged in for a good 2 hours and no problems at all. I would recommend this to everyone.

Le Creuset Classic Enameled Cast-Iron 6-Piece Cookware Sets

Le Creuset Classic Enameled Cast-Iron 6-Piece Cookware Set, FlameThis is by far the best cookware available. My advice, READ the manual before using if you are not familiar with the way cast iron cooks. I made the mistake of turning my burners to high heat when they function on low to medium! You will burn your food and ruin your pan if you use the high heat! Other than that (which is entirely my fault for not reading) this is so nice to have in my collection. This set is perfect to round off a cookware set.

I bought the Dune set on a lightning deal. The 5.5 qt oven had a pitting problem. Two deep pits on the bottom interior surface and many minor pits on the outside. It would be a second in the Le Creuset outlet. I contacted Amazon and they were great and sent out a replacement set, not only the oven. The second set had one pit mark on the interior side of the 5.5 qt so I keept it and sent the rest of the second set back with the first pitted 5.5 qt oven. It was a pain since the box weighs 40 pounds. Amazon did well by me but Le Creuset needs better quality control.

P.S. I lost out on the bonus since I had to order lightning fast to get the deal, so be prepared if you are tracking this set for a deal.

Had this saved in my cart for about a year, and it finally hit a price point that was too good to pass up.A great complement to the 5-piece set I had purchased last year.I have not seen any pitting. Each piece will get a workout in my kitchen.A great set for those who are looking to upgrade their cookware.Satin Dune might not be the most exciting color, but it will blend in with most "standard" kitchen decor.I'm not big on everything being perfectly color matched (I have Le Creuset items in about 3 different colors now), but I know it is a consideration for some.Be sure to watch for special offers, as they come up often.

Swiss Diamond Fry Pans

Swiss Diamond 6428 11-Inch Nonstick Cast-Aluminum Fry PanThe problem with many reviews is that they are written in the honeymoon period after the purchase. I bought many pots and pans by this manufacturer. I bought this 10 inch frying pan almost a year ago and I have used it almost every day. It still works, but here's the problem this type of surface is funny, at first it's like all teflon pans, totally slippery and it is very, very scratch resistant, but after a while no matter how well you clean it, it will develop a hard layer of oil/carbon and will become not much different than a poor to middle of the road seasoned cast iron pan. If you don't believe me, buy it and run it through about 100 cycles and you'll see what I mean. As far as the many other Swiss Diamond pots, casseroles, etc. I have purcased; I give them my highest mark, but keep in mind that any of these that gets used a lot and has oil on it will develop this layer of carbon which is impossible to remove. To their credit, the manufacturer actually warns you of this with the instuctions, and that you must not let the oil get burned on. My experience after 200 thermal cycles is that keeping that from happening is impossible. Maybe I wasn't religious enough in my cleaning at first, but once the process starts it will slowly cover the whole bottom of the pan no matter what you do. I use as much oil and butter in this pan now as I would on stainless or cast iron.Good luck

I LOVED this pan when I first got it, and for a while.I've had it for over a year now.It cooked evenly and was wonderfully non-stick.In fact, it cooked as nicely as a well-seasoned cast iron.I tried to care for it as directed, but even so, the pan has lost most of it's non-stick qualities and is difficult to clean well.

To make a long story short, I prefer my old cast iron, and while they require some care, they hold their quality. This pan has become unmanageable as far as its non-stick coating is concerned. There doesn't seem to be any way to "restore" it as you would a cast iron pan.

I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS PAN, but after one year, I am very disappointed.Started out well, but quickly went the way of cheap non-stick pans.

Buy Swiss Diamond Fry Pans Now

(Be sure to see update at the end, but first, my original--regrettable--glowing review)

I have an entire set of Swiss Diamond in addition to this pan. I bought Swiss Diamond because, due to weak wrists, I needed sturdy cookware that was not as heavy as stainless steel. Because aluminum is the primary, affordable, lighter-weight alternative, and one does not want food coming in contact with aluminum because of the possible leaching of it into the food, I sought non-stick pans with a coating that would not flake or scratch off and end up in my food. After much research, I discovered Swiss Diamond. I have not been disappointed. The pans are a great weight--hefty without being too heavy, and after several months of use, the coating is holding up beautifully. I confess that I do not primarily use metal utensils in it, however, so I can't testify about how they hold up against metal.

These pans caramelize food beautifully, and the evenness of the heat distribution in them is a pure joy. They do take a few extra seconds to heat up, but hold heat very well. I really love how flat the pan's bottom is, and imagine if you have a flush electric cooktop, these would be especially appreciated. Though I have a gas range, I had trouble in the past with pots and pans slipping and sliding on the enameled grates, but these pans do not slide. And I was delighted to discover, after realizing I had accidentally left this pan on low heat for an hour with no food in it, it did not warp at all and is still in perfect condition. This cookware cleans up easily and perfectly, too. I love that they are coated on the outside walls of the pans so any dried or cooked on food comes off the outside as easily as the inside.

One thing to note is that if you are looking for a pan to cook eggs in without oil, this may not be your best choice. The texture of the diamond coating seems to grab more than a slick Teflon pan would, and the first time I tried to flip my fried eggs without a spatula, I had less than stellar results. But with sufficient oil, I can flip the eggs without a spatula or a problem (I need to make my daily quota of coconut oil anyway for health reasons, so I'm fine with putting oil in the pan). If you use a spatula, you should easily be able to flip eggs without oil.

I do hope these pans turn out to be durable over the years. So far, after a few months, they are aces! In fact, my husband may be growing weary of my exclaiming, "I LOVE this cookware!" over and over again.

UPDATE 3/18/2013 Sadly, pans are in the landfill now. We didn't even want to donate them, we thought they were so unhealthy! After only a year, they started flaking and wearing on the edges. I advise against these pans, not just because they weren't durable, but I have come to believe they are made with PTFEs--the toxic stuff in Teflon. I now have ceramic coated pans (German Weilburger Healthy Legend) and so far, so good, but I'll wait awhile before reviewing!

I purchased this pan while returning another one to the Swiss Diamond warranty department. It was no longer "non-stick" and there was white discoloration all over it. When I called the warranty department, they seemed very receptive and told me to send it in. I followed their directions and sent it off for inspection.

Because the Swiss Diamond seemed so responsive, I thought that I would have no problem having it replaced. I went ahead and purchased a new one because I needed a pan right away and did not want to wait for the time it would take to replace. I thought I would give the replaced pan to my daughter.

About a week after I sent the pan off for inspection to the Swiss Diamond warranty, it was returned unopened. UPS had a stamp on it stating: "refused delivery, receiver did not want". I was confused and looked at the package and reviewed the sending instructions that were emailed directly to me from Swiss Diamond. I had followed the mailing directions exactly as specified so I called. I then called and left a message to my contact person. When I did not hear from her the next day, I emailed her. The next day the email was returned undeliverable.

When I finally got a hold of someone at the number I had, I was told that they were no longer honoring Swiss Diamond warranties and I would have to contact the Swiss Diamond Company in Switzerland. I went to their website and emailed them because there is no international 800 number and I did not want to invest any more money in this fiasco. It has been 2 months now and I have emailed them 2 times and still no response.

I have given up as this is more trouble that it is worth. The reason I purchased this product in the first place is because I thought it had a warranty, at least one that the company would honor. I don't mind paying extra for a product that a manufacturer stands behind. I rarely return things but when I have for valid reasons I have never had a problem with having the item replaced.

This product is not worth the cost they charge. I could probably go to Target or WalMart and purchase something just as good for a quarter of the price and still get better customer service.

This is just another Teflon pan. They cannot legally use the word "Teflon" because that is a registered trademark name from Dupont ( I think). It is still the same stuff.

I recently bought a Swiss Diamond Saute Pan on the basis of a limited lifetime warranty and this claim in the product description:

"Swiss Diamond cookware features a revolutionary new non-stick incorporating diamond crystals ... to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface that will not crack, blister or peel. So durable its metal utensil safe."

After my experience using this pan I take issue with the terms "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" and feel that I have been deceived.

I've followed Swiss Diamond use and care instructions *to the letter* but not long after I started using the pan the surface became pockmarked. I would submit that the product is certainly neither "virtually indestructible" nor "metal utensil safe."

Interestingly their lifetime warranty does not cover "scratch marks," which is puzzling because they've just claimed it's"virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe." How is a"virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" surface going to get scratch marks on it? Maybe they know something we don't?

Farberware Millennium Soft Touch Stainless Steel 10-Inch Nonstick SkilletThese pans heat evenly, the silicon/metal handles are very comfortable, and they look great. The non-stick finish appears to be very durable although I've only owned them a few months so time will tell. I don't put mine in the dishwasher because they clean up very easily in the sink with a sponge and I like them so much that I want them to last forever.Hands down the best pans I've ever owned (or used) although admittedly I'm just a casual cook.

I just love the Millennium series. You can't beat it for the price! I have the 12", two of the 10" and one of the 8".All have great cooking abilities. They heat quickly and (more importantly) evenly.Clean-up is a breeze with a (nonstick friendly) scouring pad. They probably don't recommend a dishwasher, but I've put them in mine repeatedly. You just want to make sure that nothing will impact the nonstick surface as the dishwasher does its thing.

I bought this pan to complement the smaller one we have from the same series. It has a great handle, nice shape, and works well.Too bad that Farberware came out with "new and improved" versions with skinny, uncomfortable handles. Why mess with sucess?Because somebody in marketing has to keep justifying his/her existence every year.Isn't business grand?

T-fal D913SC64 Signature Hard Anodized Oven Safe Nonstick Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 12-Piece Cookw

T-fal D913SC64 Signature Hard Anodized Oven Safe Nonstick Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 12-Piece Cookware Set, GrayFirst of all, sorry about my bad grasp of the English language; I'm not a native speaker, but I'll do my best.

I decided to buy these after I got tired of having food burnt "in the middle" due to the pan being extremely hot at the center. I value nonstick surfaces for the easiness on cleaning, but I also had bad experiences in the past with scratches and losing the nonstick properties after a while.

I've owned this set of pans for a little over a year now, and it is amazing how they are still as good as their first day. The nonstick surface is still new, and the pans are very easy to clean, with the right weigh and thickness that allow for a decent distribution of heat.

If you are not a professional cook and need a set of reliable cookware for daily cooking, I highly recommend this. They are not extremely expensive as the professional-grade cookware in the market, but I found out they perform almost as good (no noticeable difference for an amateur like me).

I have a large stainless steel set of cookware and had some odds and ends of non-stick for many years.I wanted to replace my old non-stick but didn't want to pay the price of some of the higher end brands. This cookware has a nice weight to it and fits the purpose just fine.I've been able to do some required high temperature cooking without sticking or burning. The only drawbacks for me would be that I wish the set included a 12" frying pan (w/lid) in lieu of the dutch oven. Also, it would be nice if it was dishwasher safe, but it is so easily cleaned that small negative shouldn't deter a purchase.

A couple of comments on other reviews prompted me to provide some more information about the T-Fal Signature Hard Anodized 12 Cookware Piece Set.

The set includes 8 and 10¼ inch sauté pans, 1, 2, and 3 quart covered saucepans with lids, a 5 quart Dutch oven with lid, a slotted spatula, and a serving spoon. The lids are made of tempered glass and each has a small hole to allow steam to escape. The lids from the Dutch Oven and the 3 quart saucepan also fit the 10¼ inch and 8 inch sauté pans. The sauté pans are equipped with the T-Fal Thermo-Spot heat indicator which changes appearance when the pan reaches proper cooking temperature.

A generic set of Use Instructions is available in paper form in the carton and in pdf form at T-Fal's website. It provides information about seasoning the cookware a necessary step to ensure longevity.

You may register your product at their website or by mailing in the card that comes in the carton. Warranty registration forms ask for the UPC code so you may wish to write it down before discarding the carton.

The set I received today was made in China.

(When purchasing sponges with scrubbing surfaces or other scrubbers, make sure that they are approved for non-stick cookware. I recently learned that lesson using different cookware. Alas.)

If I've failed to mention something of interest to you, please leave a comment and I'll try to provide the answer.

I was so impressed with this 12-piece set that it actually motivated me to write a review for it.I had not done any research on T-FAL before I made my purchase, I knew only that I wanted Hard Anodized.Being so close to Christmas time it was hard for me to find one under $100 but I finally found this set, the last one at Kmart for $80, so I grabbed it.

I am SO GLAD I did!

You won't believe how easy they are to clean, how well they cook, and how convenient the interchangeable lids are.You can use all utensils!(Exceptions Below)

I was but wasn't surprised by all the positive ratings I see.

It's true!

Drawbacks:350 degrees max.NOT dishwasher safe.No cutting or whipping. Also, my dutch oven has a spot by the rivet where the non-stick surface coating is not consistent, as if it had been scratched, but I have not noticed any peeling or ill-effect from it, so I haven't even contacted them in regard to the warranty.

I rated these a 4 because: They deserve a 4.

They are very nice pans, don't get me wrong, they are not HIGH END pans, but they are GREAT PANS FOR EVERY DAY USE.In my case I wanted pans that were not too heavy and were easy to clean up.I have owned a set of Kirkland (Costco) Hard Anondized Cookware for years, they are EXCELLENT PANS and very easy to clean, my problem with them is that the big pots and skillets ARE VERY BIG AND ARE HEAVY.Now that we are empty nesters and not getting younger those big, heavy pans will be reserved for things the somewhat smaller (esp. the skillets and stock pot) T-Fal pots cannot accomplish.

These T-Fal pans look like the perfect solution to ease of care and not too much weight to haul around a lot. They are non stick which requires special attention, if you mess that up it's over far as I'm concerned, but so easy to clean!I won't even stack them w/o something in between for fear of scratching them.

I hope my review helps you decide if these are the right pans for you.

Cheers,

Emily

PS the handles are nice but don't cook them, 350 is max in oven. There are permanent vents in the lids, which is fine by me, less boiling over!

Chinook Trekker Hard Anodized 7.75 Inch Frying Pan

Chinook Trekker Hard Anodized 7.75 Inch Frying PanEh, gets the job done, no real complaints. If you're camping, this is legit. If you're looking to buy this for your home because you want to get a pan on the cheap, like I did, you'll be less impressed. Not heavy duty, but sturdy enough nonetheless, gets the job done.

Got this for Xmas. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but appears well made. It is very light weight and nestles with the rest of my cooking gear that I carry in my pack.

Stansport 10 3/4 Inch Enamel Fry Pan, Royal BlueThis is really a nice-size pan.It took me quite a long time to find a pan like this.I wanted a specific size, and I did not want stainless steel.I use this pan at least 4 times a week, and each time I do, I'm always greatful for having it.Thank you.

The pan is too thin and has terrible hotspots.Everything sticks to it which shouldn't happen with the enamal.I would not recommend it.

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Corn Pan

Camp Chef True Seasoned Cast Iron Corn Pani had been looking for a product like this for some time. in theory its supposed to make these little corn shaped and textured corn bread sticks (basically mini corns of cob) but the reality is that the pattern on the pan is so intricate that the batter "sticks" after baking and is near impossible to remove in the intended form of the design. maybe someone with more baking experience can make this thing work properly but i have had no such luck.

This is a fabulous pan!I used it last night for cornbread and the sticks turned out great and no sticking!Remember to preheat your pan before adding the mix!It is better than my grandmother's pan!

I ordered 2 cast iron baking pans. They were delivered on time and just perfect. I wanted them for our Family Thanksgiving in VA.Each individual corn bread came out looking just like little corns with great roasted coloring. They were moist and all disappeared. I recommend these pans to all the cooks that love to make a difference on their table for their family or friends.

I had wanted one of these for years, but they're difficult to find in your regular kitchen/home stores.I love the heavy duty cast iron and the corn bread comes out crispy on the outside, exactly what I was looking for.

I needed and all-around skillet. My wife passed away and used to be the chef around here.I use this pan for everything I know how to cook, or at least try.Sausage patties and eggs in the a.m.Throw a steak on with some onions for dinner.

Never sticks, easy enough to rinse in hot water and we're ready to go again.

The color adds a little pizz-zazz!

This pan shows high quality construction and cooks beautifully. It is light, and inexpensive.I have only used it a few weeks, so I can't comment on the longevity of the non-stick surface, but, as always, with reasonable care it should be fine.I am looking forward to using it.

Simply Calphalon Nonstick Double Grill Pan

Simply Calphalon Nonstick Double Grill PanI love this pan!I have it about two weeks now and have used it lots, nothing sticks, clean up is a breeze and I love the large working area to grill many items at the same time. I wish I had bought this long ago instead of the other four pans I did buy, those either stuck like glue and needed to be soaked and scrubbed forever, or in the case of the cast iron ones took a lot of time to get seasoned properly and then if they weren't used regularly they would tend to develop rust areas in our humid climate. I can fit 8 large chicken breasts or burger patties on this, I also did a dozen Italian sausage links and peppers and onions to go with the sausage. Even if this pan only lasted me a year it would still be worth it to me for the ease of cleaning and cooking results I have gotten from it so far.

Feb 3, 2012

Here it is months later and I have literally used this pan heavily over the past few months, much more than I had ever used all the other grill pans I had purchased put together. This pan still looks and works as it did the day it was purchased. Congratulations to Calphalon for this beauty of a grill pan that works beautifully for its intended purpose. Grill chicken comes out crispy and greaseless, steaks come out with a nice char on them and sandwiches are works of art. I am still happy with it and might pick up another to keep just in case one of the sons comes to visit and this disappears when they leave!

April 4 2013

Back again to update on this pan..........still performing flawlessly! This is one seriously great pan that has had more use than any other in my arsenal of cookware and it is still holding up fine. The finish has not peeled or degraded in any way and it is a breeze to clean. My stove also is one of the ones with high performance burners and it has not damaged the pan in any way when I sear steaks or grill chicken breasts and nothing ever sticks to it. I do use a pastry brush to swish a light coating of oil on it before I use it so maybe that has helped with its longevity.

Many of the double-burner griddles are not able to be used on a flat top stove. This one, however, is perfectly flat on the bottom and works great on mine!I have had it for a few months and use it all the time.We have 5 kids, and it is perfect for making lots of french toast, pancakes, hash browns, grilled cheese, etc. at a time. Also works great for making stir fry because it keeps such a large area hot, you can just keep stirring things around to hot areas. It is also heavyweight and seems like it will last a very long time.Cleans up well and the nonstick is great, too.

*note* I have the pan that does not have the grill bars across the cooking surface,so the top is totally flat as well as the bottom.

I already had one of the grill pans, but it was too small to accommodate two large sandwiches at the same time. This larger pan is a duplicate of the smaller, skillet version, but holds several sandwiches at once. Great pan which I recommend.

WMF CeraDur Profi Non-Stick Skillet

WMF CeraDur Profi Non-Stick Skillet, 11-InchSince there were no reviews here, I felt the need to write one.I have a lot of WMF products, so I trust the brand, but the pan is terrible. At first it worked great, but after 4 months of use it sticks like crazy worse than any other pan I have. There are a lot of "green" and safe non-stick technologies, but this is not a good one, I suggest looking for other pans/technologies instead.

I was surprised to read the negative reviews about this skillet made by WMF. The German equivalent of Consumer Reports (Stiftung Warentest) tested a number of skillets without PTFE (contained in Teflon) and this one by WMF was the test winner and received the rating "good" for all criteria (below a link to the test summary of 1/2011):So far we have been very happy with this skillet (the 11" stainless-steel version). We have followed the recommendations (some vegetable oil should be wiped onto the non-stick surface after the first wash and before the first use and then after each cleaning of the pan). Good anti-stick properties, easy to clean, solidly built. A major advantage of this PTFE free ceramic coating is that it can tolerate higher temperatures. We also got the glass lid for it.
