Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-by-9-Inch Rectangular Skillet with Cast-Iron Flat Press, Oran

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-by-9-Inch Rectangular Skillet with Cast-Iron Flat Press, OrangeI have always wanted to try this cookware but truthfully have been too cheap! I finally got this particular pan and am in love with it! I will be expanding my collection soon I hope. For the first 2 weeks this pan was literally always on the stove. You can cook anything in it and clean up is awesome. The press helps cook meats faster than I've ever seen! Bacon goes from the fridge to crisp in literally 2 minutes! It makes awesome scambled eggs too. I cannot say enough good things about it. You have to try it to believe it!

I really like bacon but I've always had a hard time with getting it to cook evenly, that's why I purchased this pan.It really does a good job with heating evenly and the press keeps the bacon flat on the pan so the ends don't curl up and then not cook.I've also discovered that because of it's shape and non stick properties, it does a great job on french toast because you can put 4 slices in the pan at once and just like the bacon, it cooks evenly. My only complaint is that the handle on the press should have been made so that it doesn't conduct heat. After a while you have to use an oven mit to pick up the press. If the handle could be made to stay cool, I would have given it 5 stars.

I am using this about four times as often as I anticipated, sometimes with the press, which works great, and sometimes without.Amazing the versatility that the shape of the skillet provides. Heavy, but not crippling.;)I don't think anyone would have regrets about this purchase.

I ordered all of the Rachael Ray Pans and I have to say the quality is supurb. They clean up easily and do not stick.I bought the hard anodized or something like that. You have to cook on medium heat and no higher but the outcome of what you are preparing will make you proud. Try it I'm sure you will love it as much as I do.

After using this for a little over six months, I can honestly say there are both good things and not-so-good things.Love the size and shape that's the primary reason for purchasing. We used this skillet on average twice a week for cooking bacon and cook on a smooth cooktop surface. At this point, our primary dissatisfaction is that the center of the skillet has bowed inward a bit.Now the bacon in the center 4-5" of the skillet burns before the ends of each piece are completely cooked.Because we thoroughly allow cooking utensils to return to room temperature before washing them and always wash them by hand, this should not have happened. The bacon press is nice and heavy and does its job well. When using the bacon press, the bacon cooks much more evenly.I will probably try another brand of skillet to see if there's something out there that will hold up better.

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 18" x 10" Double Burner Griddle

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 18' x 10' Double Burner GriddleFinally I've got a perfect griddle for the bridged burners of my ceramic GE cooktop. I've tried to save money and only gotten disappointed. All my previous griddles WARPED. Uhhhggg. A rocking griddle won't cook properly. This KithchenAid 18'x10" griddle sits nice and flat, seems unperturbed by the two-burner setup, and cooks very nicely. That's all I was asking for. Wouldn't it be nice if the failed efforts were simply pulled off the market? Who needs them?

Fantastic product.Allows for cooking multiple items at once as opposed to the traditional frying pan.Easy clean-up is most definitely a plus as well.Would definitely recommend.

The griddle looks like it is well made, and I was looking forward to trying it out.Unfortunately the product states that unless your glass-top stove has the ability to "bridge" the burners together (mine does not) then you shouldn't use the griddle or it might permantely stick to the stove top. That would have been helpful to know prior to purchasing the item!

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 5-Quart Saute with Glass Lid

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 5-Quart Saute with Glass LidAfter 3 tries I am giving up on this pan.I replaced it 2 times because there was a black coating on the inside rim of the lid that was flaking off.Now the 3rd pan has warped.I would expect more from a $179 pan.Amazon has had great customer service though.I'm glad I didn't have to go back to the department store each time.

I have a glass top stove. The Calphalon contemporary after only 3-4 uses slightly warped. It was enough to have a perceivable "wobble" when using it on the glass top.I subsequently have purchased the Anolon Pro series of pans which has not exibited this behavior.I have used the pans significantly longer than I did the Calphalon.

I've never used it on a glass-top stove (I like my cast-iron too much to use a glass-top stove), but I've never had any real problem with mine, and I use it for just about everything I cook. The nonstick is beginning to peel off after 5 years of use, but since I ignore recommendations and put it in the dishwasher, and have been known occasionally to use a metal spatula in it, I have trouble being too bent out of shape about it. Certainly when, in another year or two, this one wears out I intend to buy another Calphalon to replace it.

I am tired of my anodized infused, expensive flat bottomed Calphalon pans turning into woks. They are simply not suited for glass top ranges. Over time, they warp and develop a rounded bottom that causes them to spin dangerously on the stove top when stirring, and they make very poor contact with the heating surface. I have had the same experience with every flat bottomed piece that I have purchased, and while their warranty is OK, I don't care to spend my time sending cookware back to the manufacturer.

Camp Chef Home Seasoned Cast Iron Bread Pan

Camp Chef Home Seasoned Cast Iron Bread PanI have several pieces of cast iron cookware, mostly Lodge brand. But since Lodge doesn't make their loaf pans anymore, I went with this brand. I love cooking with cast iron because it distributes heat evenly and will last you a lifetime with proper care & seasoning. I thought I was making good banana bread in my regular teflon pans until I started using this new cast iron loaf pan. WOW, now my banana bread isn't just good, it's wonderful! Cooked evenly, moist inside with a nice brown outer crust. Just like banana bread should be. For the price it's a steal, because you will have this pan forever. Whereas teflon pans scratch and wear out over time. The only downfall some people have with cast iron is the heavy weight, but I don't have a problem with it. Not only am I cooking, im getting an arm workout at the same time!

I own a LOT of cast iron..in fact, I probably own most of what Lodge has put out including everything from the cast iron hibachi grill to wok, pans, kettles and much (much) more. I LOVE the durability, ease and convenience of cooking and baking with cast iron.

Recently I needed some additional bread pans and since cannot find Lodge brand any longer I purchased 2 from Sante Cabin and 2 from Old Mountain. Old Mountain arrived quickly, well wrapped/packaged and completely treated. Washed and used to encounter bread that dropped effortlessly from the pan without need for barely any prompting. After a few more uses the finish was even better...perfect.

The Sante Cabin cast iron arrived a few days later, washed to prepare for use and pan immediately began to rust. Description indicates "true seasoned" and "ready to use right out of the box" but also denotes "non-seasoned". This pan is NON_SEASONED despite a superficial appearance to the contrary. While seasoning is not a big deal for those experienced with it (and some may prefer their own seasoning to factory treated seasoniing), it is worth mentioning for those that are searching for a TRUE pre-seasoned loaf/bread pan. If so, go with the Old Mountain bread pan instead. There is a shape difference Old Mountain has a rather odd angled shape whereas Sante Cabin provides a more traditional "bread loaf" shape.

I make my own bread for my family and have used many bread pans but this one is the best.I only have one of the cast iron bread pans so when I make more than one loaf I still have to usemy old pans. I have both aluminum -which is terrible and a stainless steel. The loaf in the cast iron has a much higher more even rise.I don't know the physics behind this but I am going to be getting another of these pans.It also has a really nice solid feel and is very easy to clean.Just slather it up with oil (I use extra virgin coconut oil since it has so much saturated fat and doesn't easily go rancid itseasons the pan really well) before I put the bread in and it comes out clean with no mess.If you are looking to invest in a great bread pan that will last a long time, this is the one for you.I am seriously considering a cast iron muffin pan now since this one has been so great.

I asked for some of these pans for Mother's Day and received them. I love them. They really do bake evenly. The bread I have made has turned out wonderfully. On the box they have the Camp Chef label. I also noticed the Sante Cookware company is located in Utah, where I also reside. The phone number is on the literature that is included. I had a few questions and called them. They said that they and Camp Chef are owned by the same parent company. I asked them about the issue that has been raised in a few reviews about their being made in China and the possibility of containing lead. They said that there is strict monitoring of the factory in China and that they constantly test. They affirmed that there is no lead in their products. They ARE pans to enyoy!

I purchased 2 pans a year ago. I was not pleased to see that they were made in China but they are heavy and appear to be of good quality. (I have seen many other China cast iron pieces which do not seem to be pure... color off, weight is very light, and have poor heat distribution.)

(See last paragraph!)

Based on my experience with cast iron, I would recommend these pans because they appear to be of pure cast iron, cook very very well and are a breeze to clean up.

I make bread every couple of days and they make such lovely loaves. I have also made non yeast breads and they too are magnificent! I have even tried meat loaf in them and have been so very pleased with the results.

Everything cooks evenly, never sticks (if lightly oiled before use) and has a truly delicious taste.

They are far superior to my glass loaf pans. I am going to replace those with more cast iron.

All of this said, I have decided not to purchase more Sante Cabin pans. The product info says "new pans" which has me suspicious of their quality. I have decided to order pans directly through Lodge of TN. I can purchase them with a phone call to a number of their factory stores. (If the one you call does not ship them, ask who does and get the phone number). They will ship UPS and their cost is comparative.

If you too are concerned about quality (no lead in your pans!) order USA made!

Black & Decker 12-Inch Electric Skillet

Black & Decker 12-Inch Electric SkilletMy grandmother bought this for me for Christmas and it has worked out far better than I could have imagined. This pan is extremely versatile, I use it for deep frying, pan frying, stir frying, and I imagine that there are many other uses that I have yet to discover.

One of the best qualities of this pan is that it is COMPLETELY IMMERSIBLE, so cleaning is a breeze. It also heats extremely quickly and evenly, and has a kick stand for the heating element, so it doesn't burn your counter when you remove it.

I use this pan almost every day and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to cook.

I bought this electric frypan because I've had a black and decker before.I love the 12" size and it is very versital.I didn't realize it wasn't as deep as the one I had before and it does not have the extra lip on the handle to tip the grease to one end. However, this model is still great! It works well, heats quickly and pretty evenly, has the teflon coating so is easy to clean. It is a good product.

I was a little worried because people complained that they could not see the control under the handle. This is not true. The indicator for the temperature you want is far enough out from under the handle that it is easy to see. The knob is easy to move. And the skillet works very well.

What I wanted was a pot that would simmer. Not boil, but simmer. Yes, the heat goes on and off, but I could set the temperature and walk away from the skillet and know that nothing was going to burn. It would bring the food just barely up to boil and turn off again holding the food at reasonable temperatures for long enough for it to cook properly. That was what I wanted and what I got.

The first thing I did with the skillet was brown some onions and peppers and then the chicken I was cooking. The browning went very well and took only a small amount of time. Things cooked evenly as well.

Recommended.

Would reccommend to others.

My expensive B & D quit cooking on the edges after a few of uses, plus the surface became VERY sticky. When I took the WB out of the box I was appalled by the cheapness and light weight of the product. Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, Orange

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 15-Inch Oval Grill Pan, OrangeI bought the pan because I was in the market for a griddle type pan, and I was really interested in the new oval shapes in cookware. I enjoy Rachael Ray's show and follow quite a few of her recipes, and that orange trim really caught my eye, so I bought it.

Other than the fact that I wish the handle were on the shorter end rather than centered at the widest point, (because maneuvering can be tricky unless you have a huge rangetop), I'm pleased with the way it cooks. I'm lucky enough with a large enough kitchen that I can leave it out, because it's rather eye-catching, (I bought the saute' pan too, with the lid) and I find myself using it more and more often. It's great for searing. I made wonderful porkchops last night. I recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune, but still want those nice grill marks in a pan.

I actually bought this pan on extreme impulse...to make a flank steak philly cheesesteak something-or-other that I caught on the Rachel Ray show (demonstrated on this very pan,of course). The size is unique and very useful for long cuts of meat or to set things off to the side like a real grill. It is truly non-stick and cleans up very easily. It's heavy gauge, even-cooking, and decently priced.I find Rachel a little annoying to listen to generally...but I'm glad I listened to her this time!

Rachael Ray's recent cookbook has "orange" in the title, because, as she puts it, it's her favorite color. This grill pan, as one might guess, has a characteristic orange handle.

But the key point is simple: this works pretty well.Once the weather gets colder, I begin to use grill pans a lot more. For small jobs, I have a nice 10 inch circular grill pan.But when I have to grill chicken or pork chops or fish for several people, that pan just doesn't do the trick. And there is where Ray's grill pan comes into play.

My recipes for grilled chicken and fish for three (or sometimes four) people calls for a larger grill pan.The oval pan here is just the ticket. I put it over two burners (maybe I'm sinning in doing this) and grill the food. The end result is pretty good. The nonstick surface seldom leads to what's being grilled sticking (some nonstick surfaces aren't nonstick!).

All in all, then, I really appreciate this grill pan. If my experience is typical, then this is something that those wanting a good grill pan might think of acquiring.

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 12" Covered Deep Skillet

Anolon Ultra Clad Stainless Steel 12' Covered Deep SkilletHeavy yes, cooks evenly yes, pricey yes, quality very good, clean up easy, would I purchase again? Absolutely!Amazon has not let me down in over 2 years including a easy return policy.

Short review but honest.

I was looking for months at cookware.Been to many stores (W&S, Sur La Table, etc).I knew I wanted fully clad cookware. My options came down to All Clad, Henkels, and some others. However, what I really needed was just a deep skillet, and I could find only 2, a Caphalon non-stick, and this Anolon.I chose the Anolon because it was clad stainless steel.

One thing I really like about this pan is the handle.Very comfortable curve and silicone grip. The domed top also is convenient.

However, the black ribbon on the outside, while kinda cool looking, I think Anolon just put it there to save money on the stainless steel.

The pan was not as heavy as I thought it would be, at least compared to a similarly sized/spec'd All Clad pan. What this tells me is that the aluminum core is very thin.Which is obvious if you compare it to an actual All Clad pan.The All Clad (I'm talking Stainless or LTD) is much thicker and heftier. Now, all this could be rendered moot if the performance was great.....

The performance is not great. For starters, after the VERY FIRST time I used it, there were burn marks on the bottom.I have one of those glass cook tops and I set it to medium, and when I was cleaning the pan, I noticed several burn marks on the bottom.Continuing, after searing some steaks, and washing the pan, it left an outline of the steaks.I scrubbed as much as I could, but it wouldn't go away. However, since then, and cooking many other things, either the outline went away, or there were so many other outlines that it is just one hazy mess.Lastly, heat retention is not great.Just yesterday, I was searing some small hunks of beef to make a pasta sauce. The hunks were about 1 inch cubes, or so.The first couple sizzled when I put them on, but as I put more on, they stopped sizzling. The meat was room temp.None of the pieces were seared very well. They browned, but I couldn't get that crusty sear I was going for.Plus, when I was making the sauce, the sides didn't seem very hot.I was able to see my sauce bubbling, but only at the center.Maybe my expectations were too high.I was expecting to see the entire pan bubbling because of heat radiating from the sides.

Overall, while the shape is exactly what I am looking for, I would not recommend this pan to anyone. If you want the same shape (a hybrid of a skillet and saute pan) and you want stainless, this is really your only option. However (I've used the word a lot in this review) if you don't need that particular shape, look somewhere else.I bought a small saucepan from Henkels, and that also has a great handle, and is much thicker, clad, stainless, and performs well. For the price (about 80% as much as an All Clad 12" saute, but more expensive than a Henkels 12" saute) you lose performance. However, the All Clads are made in the USA, and the Henkels are made in China. You pay for made in USA, though (and I hate, Hate, HATE the All Clad handles). If you want to really splurge, go for some Vikings or Demeyers.

Out of all the options, I think Henkels gives you the best value for your money, if you are looking for clad, stainless cookware.

All-Clad Stainless 12.5-Inch Chef's Pan Lid

All-Clad Stainless 12.5-Inch Chef's Pan LidThis might be a long-winded review, so bear with me.

Looking at the lid on it's own, it's a fine lid. It's metal, shiny, and domed -pretty much everything you want in a lid and more! The problem is that it doesn't fit what it's supposed to fit. Before you assume that I'm simply making a mistake, I'm basing this on advice that All-Clad itself gave me.

So we have an All-Clad chef's pan that was missing a lid. Doing some Internet searching, I came across the "All-Clad Lids & Covers Guide" on the MetroKitchen website, which indicates this lid fits the "All-Clad 4 qt. chef's pans, including Copper-Core." I measured the pan, and it's 12 inches across. Well, this lid description says 12.5 inches, but I figure with the lip around the edge of the lid, it was going to be a match. I filled the chef's pan with water, and it held *exactly* four quarts. This had to be the lid for our plan, right?

Nope. The lid is *just* a little too big... probably half an inch too big. D'oh! It's not like All-Clad makes a dozen slightly different styles of chef's pans, so it was odd and disappointing that this didn't work out. So what happened?

All-Clad seems to think that I was sent the wrong product. I emailed them a photo of my pan, and they confirmed that yes, I have one of their chef's pans, and yes, this lid should fit. It's not like "3914" or "3914RL" is stamped anywhere on the lid, so I can only go by what the company and the invoice says. To quote All-Clad customer service:

"The pan you have is indeed the Chefs Pan and the lid you purchased is the correct lid for the pan. It is possible that the wrong lid was sent to you but the 3914 RL does fit the Chefs Pan. As stated before we haven't changed the shape or size of the Chefs Pan."

MetroKitchen happily accepted my return, but they weren't too helpful otherwise in helping me helping me find a domed lid that would fit my chef's pan. We can use one of the flat lids from an All-Clad fry pan, but having the domed lid would have been really nice. If I can find a retail store that stocks replacement lids, I'll give it another go, but I'm not going to waste any more money on shipping on this endeavor.

I still gave this lid two stars because like I said, it's a fine lid... just not for it's stated purpose.

Smart Planet BM-1 Brownie Bar Maker

Smart Planet BM-1 Brownie Bar MakerI love kitchen toys, and when I saw this on a Groupon deal for $19.99, couldn't resist getting it. I make home made baked good which I sent to troops, and having something like this in addition to my regular two oven stove makes the work go a lot faster...at least, that was my rationale for buying it! :o)

I first tried it with a brownie mix, and filled the wells about 1/4" from the top that gave me about 12 brownies (2 batches in the machine). As far as timing goes, I see someone wrote a review in which she said that she baked her cake for as long as was indicated on the box from the mix; common sense should tell you that a smaller size produce will require less baking time...but some people just don't think.I looked at the recipes in the included booklet, even though I wasn't making them at the time, to get a rough idea of baking time, and started to check my brownies at the minimum recommended time. As you get more familiar with the machine, you'll learn how much time is needed for various different things.

The first time I used my brownie bar maker it was a little tricky to get them out of the pan, but then had an idea: I now turn the machine upside down (with the lid closed) and lift the bottom (which is now on top); the perfectly intact bars can then be easily removed with a non-metal spatula, and the machine is ready to go again right away.

I use a butter flavored spray in the wells for each batch; a damp paper towel is really all you need for clean-up.

This is a fun little gadget well worth the price. I'm thinking it's a nice item to use to introduce a little girl to the joys of baking.

Enjoy the size of bars. Is not quicker than oven baking (17 min) but saves

heating the oven. Enjoyable way to have fresh baked goods in hot weather. Per my infared temp gun, this bakes at 350 degrees. Made excellent johnny cake bars with precooked ground sausage. Plan to make snack sized cake bars and freeze for later. Works very well.

Works really slick, biggest complaint I have is getting the brownies out of the maker without breaking them because the bottom is more narrow than the top. I ended up turning it over and they fell right out, which worked the best.

I just received this an hour and when I opened the box, I was disappointed. I had just returned a mini-muffin maker, and thought this made only minis. I didn't even want to open the box! I did open the box however, and am glad I did! The wells are deeper than I thought; definitely not muffin high deep, but still pretty good size. You can't see the depth in the photos, so I'll try to upload some. The top has an extra 1/2 or 3/4 of inch to let the product rise. I wantedto make the equivelant similar to a normal sized muffin for breakfast, but I had plans for other uses as well. I washed the unit since it smelled like manufacturing oils and even after I washed it, it still smelled a little. I figured it was the insides (I was right, and it went away by the end of the second batch). I refuse to own a machine that can't be thoroughly washed. I held the cord up and after soaping it up, rinsed it well. Sprayed very little non-stick spray and let it heat up. I prepared half a box of vanilla cake mix and poured it up to about 1/4 from the top of the well. The book states that the red light will turn red when ready, but will frequently turn on and off to maintain the temperature of the unit. That means the light does not indicate when ready, but I really don't think it's needed, since it bakes the cakes up so fast. The book states to close the top as soon as you pour the in the batter. Both batches came out evenly cooked. The tops touched the top plate on the first batch, but no big deal-just a flatter top. Poured 1/2 ince from the top the next time and the tops had risen nicely on the second batch. The cakes came out fluffy! My kids ate one each plain, but then I split them open and put a little whipped cream on top. I cut mine open too and a portion of a sliced banana on each half. YummY!!! The cake size is about the size of a twinkie (I haven't had a twinkie in a while, so it may not be exactly that size). It may be a little shorter, but if so, then only by a little. I think eating one is great portion control; eating two is like eating an oversized muffin. These are so much better than mini muffins! I plan on using this a lot, so I will update as I go along. Good luck with yours!

Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 4.5-Quart Tapered Stockpot

Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 4.5-Quart Tapered StockpotI have many cookwares from the Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection. This 4.5 quart stockpot and the 3 quart sauce pot are my favorite. I've cooked rice and curry, and they are fabulously non-stick and easy to clean. Rubber handles stay cool, and are very comfortable to hold onto. The bottom of this pot is a bit smaller than the top, measuring 7 inches in diameter instead of the 9.5 inches at the top.

One area of improvement is the exterior finish. The bronze hue is of an elegant shade. Unfortunately, it is not scratch resistant and can be chipped off. So be careful cleaning and avoid coming into contact with any sharp object.

excellent finish, tight lid.light to handle and cleans easily.handles are excellent and stay cool.price was right at time of purchase and reviews were very good .also checked with consumer reports and they gave high ratings. very satisfied

When I purchased a new ceramic top stove, I had to part with some of my favorite frying pans (cast iron which I do use, but carefully and occasionally). I like these pans so well I ordered another set, and bought this 4 qt pot as well. These are well made and a delight to cook with.

A year later, I still love this pan...good size for soup, etc. However, either I didn't notice it at first or it somehow changed size, but the lid doesn't fit really tight (for dumplings) but it does fit ok for anything else.

As the title says, the size and non-stick surface are simply excellent! The instructions specifically say to wash by hand; this is the first time I've seen that instruction as more than just a generalized suggestion.I like that this Analon stockpot is a nice weight without being either too heavy or too flimsy. It arrived well packaged.I have since purchased a set of these pots and pans. The lid for this stockpot also fits several of the frying pans from the set.

My first set of pans was a glass set with non-stick bottom. They were dreadful.I replaced them with an Analon set (sorry, I don't remember which kind now) that held up very nicely until the non-stick coating started to peel off. This took more than ten years to happen, so I can't complain too much.I have also used cast-iron and stainless steel pans.Cast-iron is super heavy. That said, once seasoned I don't have trouble with food sticking, but aside from giant lodge pots, it is hard to find anything other than frying pans in cast iron.I find stainless cooks soups nicely but with anything else they stick so badly, even with extra oil, that I would really have to soak and scrub to get the cooked-on food off. This would happen with anything from onions to bacon.I mention these so you know some of my "pan history".

We will see how this pan holds up in the long run, and I'll update this review if I do have any troubles.

George Foreman GFP84GP Evolve Grill 84-Square Inch Shallow Griddle Accessory Pan

George Foreman GFP84GP Evolve Grill 84-Square Inch Shallow Griddle Accessory PanI got this for model number GRP92R, which is not listed as a fit in the description.I got out the tape measure and since it was the exact size of my grill's plates, I took the chance and ordered it and it's an exact fit.I'm tell this because some like me, may over look this because your model number is not listed as a fit. Also, you can order this directly from the George Forman website for half the price. This will turn my GF grill into a mini griddle where you can fry things like eggs and bacon that is awkward with the factory plates. Also pancakes, omelets and the such.

I bought this product because our other George Foreman needed to be replaced.I found this product on line and thought I should give it a try.To my surprise--we use this little kitchen marvel a lot!I love the waffel grill plates.

Its fast becoming our Sunday treat!

It is easy to clean and takes up very little storage space in our apartment.

Nordic Ware Square Mini Waffle Griddle

Nordic Ware Square Mini Waffle GriddleI bought this pan to make large batches of gluten-free waffles. We have been buying them frozen from the grocery store, and they are not inexpensive. So I make a huge pile of waffles with the pan, freeze them between sheets of parchment and use them the same way we use the store-bought ones.I find it helpful to cover the pan for the first side of cooking. They come out with only one side shaped like a waffle, and they are smaller than the store-bought ones.I most like that we can make waffles without having to store a big waffle iron, which I would probably use like twice a year.

Lodge Logic L6CO3 Camp Dutch Oven, 1-Quart

Lodge Logic L6CO3 Camp Dutch Oven, 1-QuartTo understand the handle on the lid you need to know the history of this pot.Lodge used to make a 5" size. They discontinued that size and the prices on auction sites went insane. The president of Lodge claimed they could not be made on their new production equipment. Then my 5" lid went missing.I was on a mission to replace it.I read a post about some unique Lodge products that were only made for Japan. That sent me on a surfing trip to Japanese Dutch Oven sites.I could not read a single character but I found the picture of what I sought a 5" Lodge Dutch Oven.A long and language challenged correspondence followed resulting in me securing my goal.It was a challenge but Lodge had managed to produce 2000 for the Japanese market. This while telling fans and customers in the USA it was impossible. When the fans in the US found out that they had not exactly been told the truth they were not happy.A short time later Lodge announce the 6" model which is easier to cast on their machinery.

It is still too small for a proper handle on the lid so it just has a tab. Many people drill a hole in the tab and add a split ring so that the lid will work with a lid lifter.Fire gloves and fencing pliers also work to handle a hot lid.

I bought this to take on solo camping trips, especially motorcycle camping. I have a larger dutch oven but it just isn't worth bringing when I'm cooking for myself. I also bring it along with my larger oven when camping with others.

It fits my needs perfectly.

I have cooked breads/biscuits, stews, meat, shepherd pie/pot pies, frittata/spanish tortilla, and more over charcoals and even wood fires. I carry a small can of spray oil and use a pair of welding/utility gloves (handy to have along anyway). It is fully capable of baking a tiny but perfectly browned and tasty hamburger-bun sized loaf of bread or just about anything you can do in a larger dutch oven. Cleans up easily (assuming you know how to cook with cast iron). It can also come in handy for heating up sauces or side dishes on the grill or in an oven at home. There is a learning curve with any dutch oven but that's part of the fun.

As far as I know there is simply nothing on the market to compete with this. If you want a small cast iron dutch oven (and don't want to build it yourself) this is your choice. Fortunately it's a viable choice.

I recommend drilling a hole in the lid tab. You can use pliers but it took me less than 5 minutes with a cordless drill. I sized the hole to match a meat flipper I also bring along when camping, but you could also fit it to a tent peg or similar.

This is my first Amazon review in over 15 years ordering from AMZ.I am very enthusiastic about this product.

This is a great product! If you go camping by yourself, with someone else, with four people this is great!Generally DO cooking assumes that you are cooking for a crowd. This does not.You don't need many coals (hope you have a chimney), and you won't have any leftovers. With a 12" DO and the 1 quart here you can cook an entree and cornbread or a cobbler.First time out (two of us) we cooked stuffed peppers and then while we were eating the peppers, we cooked a jalapeno cheese cornbread. This shouldn't be your first DO purchase (12"/8 quartshould be first) but it should definitely be your second.Criticisms re no hole in the handle are valid.I am still lifting my lid with the pliers on my multitool.I may end up drilling a hole in the tab handle on top, but my sog pliers are fine.

I have cooked cornbread (for five), a cobbler (for five), a mtn man breakfast (for four), and stuffed peppers (three) in this DO.It is great for any small camping trip.

Highly recommended.Plus it is cute.

The ONLY drawback is there is no hole in the lid for a lid lifter.5 minutes with a cordless drill and a 5/16 bit did that job (cast iron is very soft, but brittle).Other than that, it is perfect for baking for one or two!

Lodge products never disappoint. This size is fairly new to Lodge but is the perfect size for my husband and I for either a meal or dessert while camping. I love that the cookware comes pre-seasoned. The lid fits nicely and the legs are even and strong; and excellent product.

All-Clad Stainless 12-Inch Fry Pan Lid

All-Clad Stainless 12-Inch Fry Pan LidMy All Clad LTD 12" fry pan is my most used pan. While this 12" fry pan lid fits the pan, it doesn't seal as well as it should. The bottom lip is very shallow and is smaller than the diameter of the fry pan.I need to be careful to put the cover on properly.I compared this 12" fry pan lid to my All Clad sauté pan lids (since the All Clad sauté and fry pans both have flared lips) and the sauté lids have larger and more squared bottom lips that closely matches the pan opening than this fry pan lid.

I will keep this lid.But if there is the chance that All Clad listens, they have a chance to get up to five stars.

Potential buyers should be aware of a couple things:

1. Most of All-Clad's lids and other accessories (things other than pots and pans) are made in China and aren't actually "clad," the 3-layer bonded metal that is characteristic of the company's U.S. made cookware.Nobody needs a bonded metal lid, you aren't cooking on it.This info is from their website.

2. You can get way cheaper lids. For example, the Calphalon "everyday pan with lid" often goes on sale on Amazon for about two dollars more than just this lid costs. That lid fits this pan like it was made for it, and is also domed so you get more space inside.Plus you have an extra pan.

My advice is get a cheaper lid made by another company, or buy an all-clad skillet with this lid included when its on sale for 80-100 dollars which happens from time to time.

I recently purchased an All Clad 12 inch skillet and lid.My pan and lid have approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch of play between the edges of the skillet and lid. I would expect this from a cheap set of pots and pans, but not from All Clad. A few of the other reviewers have also mentioned issues regarding the fit.

I have an 8 inch All Clad skillet and lid and those two fit perfectly. It appears there may be a production/quality problem with the 12 inch lid. I am not happy with the purchase.

I ordered this lid to use with my 12" All Clad Copper Core fry pan. After all, if you drop $225 to purchase one of the world's best fry pans, you want a beautiful, perfectly matched lid to go with it, even it it is going to set you back another $50, right? It is a nice theory, but as others have pointed out, things don't quite work out that way.On its own, this lid is a handsome piece of adamantine stainless steel, a tribute to the founder's art.But when paired with its mate, it stumbles, and nearly fails. It simply does not fit properly.

Can it be used?I suppose so.But it requires a certain amount of fiddling and titration which is not compatible with the frenetic activity which sometimes accompanies bringing a complex mutli-dish meal in for a smooth landing. In short, it is a frustrating solution, especially when you have expended almostfor the combination of pan and lid.Fortunately, I have a glass lid from a long discardedTarget fry pan which fits well.I would consider buying this lid if I needed one, and if the asthetics of mis-matched lids is irksome to you.It is usable, even if it is somewhat vexatious. So, for purposes of having a matched set, I am glad I own it. I'm just not so happy I bought it.

Kudos to marketplace seller Metro Kitchen for getting this bit of dreck to me promptly and well packed.

Possible (but untested) alternatives: Farberware 12-Inch Glass Lid

.................................................. Farberware 12-Inch Stainless Steel Lid

NB All Clad:It is absurd that this pan does not come with one of your "made in China lids".But it is even more absurd that alid does not fit afry pan.You will not stay the cookware of choice for serious cooks if you keep putting out poorly engineered items such as this lid.Perhaps if your lids were made at the same factory as your pans (here in the US) instead of in China, such miscues would become obvious in time to correct them.Given your stratospheric prices, it is beyond my ken to comprehend why you feel the need to cut corners by outsourcing your lids overseas.A pox on your accountants and purchasing agents, as well as your senior management.;^)

As another reviewer pointed out, this lid doesn't seal as well as it should. I suppose the 5-star reviews received a slightly different product.

In comparison, the All-Clad lids for my 10.5 inch frying pan an 1-quart sauce pan fit perfectly.

I gave it only 2 stars because of the fit was not what I expect for a $47 lid.
