Calphalon Tri-ply Stainless Steel 8-Inch Omelette Pan

Calphalon Tri-ply Stainless Steel 8-Inch Omelette PanPROS:

+ Beautiful design

+ Excellent heat conduction

+ Stay cool handles

+ Stains and discoloration easily cleaned with Bar-Keeper's Friend cleanser

+ Dishwasher safe

+ Have not had problems with food sticking

+ Excellent price

CONS:

None that I can think of!

I've been using my Calphalon Tri-Ply stainless for several years now and absolutely love it! It seems to perform as well as my sister's All Clad stainless but cost significantly less. Heat conduction is excellent (try simply running hot tap water into a pan or pot with your hand on the bottomin no time at all it's too hot to hold without a potholder that's good conduction). I rarely have a problem with food sticking to the pan. I did get a fantastic tip that to prevent food from sticking, heat the pan first and then add your oil (or margarine/butter)it does seem to work! I definitely recommend the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless, particularly if you're attracted to All Clad but can't stand the thought of shelling out that kind of money for cookware.

My dad got sick of the non-stick coating wearing off and getting scratched so he asked for a good non-stick pan and is very happy with his Christmas gift.

This is a great pan, as a stainless. It does not do omelets well, but then I would not expect that from a stainless pan.It is obviously well built out of premium stainless. It's very sturdy in every way, including the handle.I like that it is all stainless, including the handle, because it allows me to put it in the oven.I'm careful putting it in the oven, of course, and I keep the temp below 400, although I think it can go a little higher.I'm also careful to not overheat it on the stove.I know it can be washed in the dishwasher, but I always wash it by hand, to avoid discoloration or patina damage from chemicals.I bought it for life, which is why I think it is worth the care.I also bought the 10 inch version, which is just as good.I have other Calphalon cookware pieces, and they are all of excellent quality, including the non-stick surfaces on some of them.

I have used a set of Calphalon non-stick pans formaybe 8 years. For a while they were good, but then started to loose their non-stick finish.I believe I followed the instructions for use and care properly. I can't help but wonder if the family and I have been eating bits and pieces over the years yuck!Anyway they finally got to where they aren't non-stick any more and are very difficult to clean.

I started replacing them by purchasing the Tri-ply Stainless 8 inch pan.Wow!!!Seems almost more non-stick than the non-stick pans, very even heating, easy to clean.I think if there was one negative, it would be keeping it as shiny and new looking as when it was purchased, but so far that has not been a problem either.I absolutely plan to begin replacing my whole collection with this series.

By the way, I also looked as some other options such as All Clad these are cheaper and my guess would be that these are at least as good, and the Kirkland from Costco much cheaper, possibly not quite as quality made, but mostly there is a limited selection of items.

All in all, a great pan ( the whole line is good ), and I definitely recommend them to others where I may not have recommended the older non-stick.

BergHOFF Copper Clad 12-Inch Stainless Steel Fry Pan

BergHOFF Copper Clad 12-Inch Stainless Steel Fry PanI have the BergHOFF Earthchef series and love them. This pan is absolutely terrible.Very light weight and EVERYTHING sticks to it no matter how or what you are cooking.Complete waste of money.Do not buy.

So first of all this is the first review for this item so accordingly when I bought it there was non :) Too bad for me ..may be I would no buy it if there would be a review. So here you go..

To begin with the packaging was horrible. The box came with the handle sticking out of it.

As long as I had a big issue and fight with American Kitchen because some of their 18/10 stainless steel is NOT a real stainless steel every time I buy 18/10 SS I check it.This one is NOT %100 18/10 SS (I mean those parts that suppose to be 18/10). However it is close and not that bad (I would say about %75 is 18/10) otherwise I would ship it strait back.

So I decided to give it a shot.

It heated very slowly and than cooled down same slow (which is normal and good).

I wasted about 12 eggs trying to fry them on low heat, on high heat, with different types of oil but no matter what I did I could not get even one normally fried egg. They just kept sticking to the pan.

I bought it here from Amazon for $32.31 and I will not return it but will look for some better option (better does not mean more expensive).

If you would ask me I would not suggest buying it.

Update:Just tried to fry some meat and it worked out almost perfectly. And that increased my opinion about this pan.

Flamekiss 5-piece Cookware Set, 3 Ceramic Coated Nonstick Fry Pans w/ 2 Glass Lids by Amorè, Innov

Flamekiss 5-piece Cookware Set, 3 Ceramic Coated Nonstick Fry Pans w/ 2 Glass Lids by Amorè, Innovative Design & Elegant Looks, Nano Ceramic Coating w/ Silver IonI bought these pans for my sister for Christmas. She liked them very much, so I bought them for myself as well. They are very good pans. The bottom is heavier than I'm used to, so it takes slightly longer for the pan to heat, but once it does, the heat is very well distributed. The nano ceramic coating makes cooking easier in that you need very little, if any, oil. I'm thinking about getting the saucepans as well.

I've purchased other non-stick cookware and everything STICKS!!!Even after "seasoning" according to instructions, everythingSTICKS!!Alas, FlameKiss cookware from Amore Kitchenware, DOES NOT STICK!You don't even have to "season" it!Just wash and use.For the first time, I can fry an egg without butter or oil, and it slides right out of the pan.The cookware also sits level on my electric glasstop range, unlike my orgreenic 12 inch skillet.I'm so glad I purchased this cookware and unlike the orgreenic 12 inch skillet, the FlameKiss 12" comes with a lid as does the 10" skillet.Amore Kitchenware started in 2012, and I'm impressed. If ever the need arises to purchase cookware in the future, FlameKiss will be my first choice.Great product for the money!

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, Red

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, RedI've used my Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware for over 10 years; I'd be lost without it. The excellent heat retention and even heat distribution allow you to cook over low-medium heat; you'll save energy and your cookware will last longer. But who am I kidding?--I bought my Le Creuset pans because they're pretty and oh so French! That they're energy efficient, sturdy, and easy to clean are just bonus points.

Although I own a set of the cobalt blue pans, the heart shaped red pan with lid is my favorite Le Creuset piece. It would make a great Mother's Day or Valentine's Day gift; then again it would make a wonderful present to yourself!

I have collected all of Le Creuset's fruit and vegetable shaped cast iron enameled casseroles. In my 40+ years of cooking these casseroles are at the top of my list for beauty and functionality. They are beautiful to display on a table or on a kitchen counter and very practical in cooking delightful casseroles, soups, stews and other wonderful dishes. The color that they can add to a kitchen brightens every vist there. The exterior and interior enamel coating is very durable and easy to clean. I have cooked a multitude of dishes in these casseroles and have found them to be excellent in heat conduction and preventing "hot spots". The wider and lower shaped casseroles are a little better in spreading the heat.

The warranty against defects of 101 years will certainly last beyond my expected needs but it is nice to know that I have the protection since these are not inexpensive purchases.

The comments of guests served from these casseroles is always positive and never fails to bring a smile to my face.

There is a drawback to these whimsical cookers and that is the rim of both the top and bottom of the casseroles. There is no enamel on these rims and they can rust if not dried immediately after hand washing. They are dishwasher safe but I do recommend that you hand wash and dry immediately. I also recommend that you let them sit out for an hour or so to air dry before storing them.

When wet this casserole can be very slippery and the handles on the bottom and top help in preventing dropping them. Be really careful!

Finally, closely inspect your casserole when it arrives. My first garlic casserole had a two inch crack in the enamel. I did not have to contact Le Crueset since Amazon.com immediately sent a replacement to me and had the defective item picked up at my home at no charge. I commend them for standing behind the products they sell.

The single best pots for doing rich chicken dishes and the like. Conducts heat perfectly, well-balanced and very easly to clean. So many great meals have emerged from these pots that I tend to cook more frequently, especially the more slow-cooking or complex dishes.

I inheirited one ofthese pots and then bought another. Since then I have excused all similarimitations from the kitchen.

If I had to equipt my kitchen with 3cooking pots/pans, this would come right after the skillet and sauce pan.

Of all the 2 quart Le Creuset specialty pieces (pumpkin, tomato, etc.) this was the one that caught my eye.I resisted it several times at a nearby Le Creuset shop, but when they discounted it so that the price was about what I'd pay on Amazon, I gave in.I only wish I would have bought it sooner.

Unless your kitchen is totally austere and devoid of all decor, this is one piece you will want to keep out at all times. You cannot look at it without smiling and just feeling good.As far as actually using it, it has all the wonderful qualities for which Le Creuset is so well-known.Whether on the stove or in the oven, you'll love the even heating and the smooth enamel finish. When it's time to serve on the table, it becomes a conversation piece as well.At 2 quarts, it's a great size for small recipes.Clean up is fast and easy.

So, beauty and function in a quality piece of cookware, and all for a reasonable price. What more could one ask for?

I have had this pot since about 2001.I bought it for the macaroni and cheese review.I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it has been worth it surprisingly.I admit I only used it to make mac and cheese the first few years. Then I found out it makes brussel sprouts, spaghetti sauce, and now RICE, perfectly.I actually reach for this pot on somewhat of a weekly basis now and it still looks brand new.The handles are very ergonmically useful. It holds an air-tight seal while cooking, so rice cooks up perfectly without spilling over on the stove.Stores food well in any temperature.

This is a hand me down pot for the future generations.Friends always compliment me on the cuteness of this pot as it sits on the stove during cookings.I am glad I bought it.It cooks 3 cups of rice and surprisingly mac and cheese is not so bad in such a deep small pot.It fills nearly to the brim without boiling over, since it is air tight.

If you do not treat this pot delicately and just use it for anything including side vegetables, you will find that it is very useful. There is hardly a scratch on mine and I consider it everyday ware now.Hope this helps!

Woll Nowo Titanium 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable Handle

Woll Nowo Titanium 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable HandleNon stick is really non stick. Very uniform heating because of the bottom construction which will probably reduce/eliminate warping. The lid fits securely and the removable handle is a great convenience.

German quality wins again. This nonstick surface trumps anything on the market today. Titanium treated pans from Woll are scratch resistant. The frying pans I ordered are very heavy and have interchangeable grips. NOTHING will stick in this pan….Nothing! You can't go wrong by purchasing any product from Woll. It will be the last cookware product you will ever buy.

My parents who live in Germany actually got me to try this pan. After over 3 years of use there is no chip or cracking and I use this pan a lot. Whenever I make pork chops I fry them at a very high temperature first. That was really bad for my teflon pans since you should only use those at low temps.

Before purchasing the Woll pan I contacted the main company in Germany and they confirmed that their products can be used at high temps. It does not seem to hurt this pan at all. The only thing you should do is to heat up the pan first and then put the oil in. Also do not use butter or low heat oils while cooking at high temperature. That is not good for any pan. I usually use Crisco.

I also handwash all my pots and pans.

Over time I will replace all my pots and pans with Woll products!!!

A friend of mine in another country recommended these pans when I asked what do they replace teflon with. It's the best pan ever. Nothing sticks to it and it has easily replaced two nonstick pans and my cast iron pan. The detachable handle is just brilliant and very sturdy; it turns into a casserole and goes straight into the oven when you need to. I am glad the nonstick layer is made with ceramic. I want to cook everything in this pan!

I cannot say enough about this pan. Over the years I have spent a bundle on All-Clad non-stick pans that I've ended up throwing in the goodwill box because they chipped and scratched over time. After reading about the dangers of non-stick surfaces, I found this line of pans while researching alternatives.I started with the 8 inch nonstick pan, and after a few weeks of being amazed by how well it performed, decided to get the 12 1/2 inch pan to add to my collection. The fact that the handles detach means I can fry eggs as well as make frittatas, cornbread, and even upside down cake in the same pan.The pan also heats up evenly and gets very hot over medium heat, so that you can get a great sear on steaks and scallops, and then remove the handle to throw in the oven to finish cooking. And no matter what I throw in the pan, there is no clean-up at all, just swish with hot water.I still use my collection of 14+ pieces of stainless steel All-Clad pots and sauce pans, but will stop buying their frying pans. Wish they would add a larger saucepan for oatmeal/polenta...

Kuhn Rikon 2 1/2-Liter Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker

Kuhn Rikon 2 1/2-Liter Stainless Steel Pressure CookerWe have had a 5.25 qt Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker for 4 years, for daily use that one was a bit big to handle. We were looking for a smaller 2.5 to 4 qt pressure cooker for quick one time portion meals for 34 people. We tried other brands, both for money savings and variety, and after being disappointed with the construction and quality returned them promptly. We decided to plunge again into Kuhn Rikon, ordered this 2.5 qt Pressure Cooker. Wife is happy appropriate for small, quick meals, is easy to handle, clean, and store. It feels and looks solidly constructed which makes it slightly on the heavier side for it's size.

If you are already familiar with pressure cooking then Kuhn Rikon is the best in class, and if you are already aware of Kuhn Rikon, there is nothing more to add. If the size is right for you, it will serve many, many years.

I've had a the 2L model for four years, and never had to replace any parts.I left that one at my second home so I will never be without one, and just purchased this 2.5L here. What seems like a loose screw on top is a simple, responsive and sturdy pressure release valve. The plastic handles would only melt if one were using a flame that extends beyond the sides of the pan.By heating it up at medium heat and reducing it to extra low once full pressure is reached, the flame will be nowhere near the sides of the pan, especially on this wider 2.5L model. This takes only a couple of minutes so I see no need for a roaring flame.Dual handles allow you to move the pan while hot, or hold it to run cool water from the tap over the edges for immediate pressure release when desired. The base is very thick so there is no burning of contents. The steam inside reduces all sticking and the lid comes off quite clean.I have electric rice cookers but almost always use the Kuhn Rikon instead because it is much faster and the texture of the rice is better. Only 25 minutes for brown rice, 5 minutes for white.

Buy Kuhn Rikon 2 1/2-Liter Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker Now

Right from the get-go this pressure frying pan worked great. I felt sort of on my own because there aren't a lot of pressure frying recipes out there. But I am an experienced pressure cooker user so I felt fairly confident jumping in. One of my favorites is slow-roasted tomatoes, 2 hours or so in the oven 7 minutes in the PC frying and I couldn't tell the difference. A beautiful job of frying potatoes, 5 minutes prep, 2-3 minutes browning potatoes, 5 minutes PC and you're ready to go. In other words you can brown and pressure cook with oil with this pan and when you add water, you add a lot less than with a regular PC. it's a well-made unit which you would expect for the price.

Those are the pros, the cons:

Instruction book inferior like many from Europe. Almost nothing about the frying pan and I find some of the suggested times to be a bit off too. Recipe book mixes in a few frying pan recipes with regular PC recipes which makes them hard to find. They need a separate frying pan instruction book and separate recipes for FP.

There is a little safety valve which comes unattached to the top. Difficult to find clear instructions on how to attach and once attached has a tendency to fall off. Poor design.

because of 'dimpled' bottom of FPPC no trivet is included as with other KR PC's.( Dimpled bottom supposedly acts as a trivet.) But some of FP recipes call for a trivet so it should be included.

Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle

Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch GriddleI would strongly recommend looking elsewhere, unless you are only looking to cook in the middle 9" circle of this griddle. There is absolutely no heat transfer outside this area.We eventually bought the All-Clad electric griddle from W-S.We are very happy with that. It's an excellent product, but way more expensive...

This griddle only heats in the center!!

The center heats up to boiling while I can still hold my finger on the edge!!

How is anyone suppose to cook on the sides of this when no heat gets to the sides? What is the use of the 23" griddle when only 12" are usable. Very bad design, unusable in my view!

Buy Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle Now

We just purchased an induction stove and needed a new griddle for pancakes. This product stated that it heats evenly. It has a circular steel plate attached to the bottom which works with the induction stove but only heats the center.Center pancakes came out fine but anything to the side didn't cook.Pretty much useless unless you want to cook right in the center, then you can just use your frying pan!

Read Best Reviews of Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle Here

It's a large griddle, but there is only one induction heat surface in the center of the pan.It should have two heat disks so it can be bridged across 2 burners, which would allow better heat distrubution. As it is, only the center gets hot and the ends never get warm enough to cook eggs or pancakes.Very poor heat distribution.Would not recommend this.

Want Fagor Induction-Ready Cast Aluminum 23.5 Inch Griddle Discount?

as per other reviews, product only heated where it made stove connection, heat did not disburse throughout unit. I tried on 2 burners but disc on bottom did not make enough contact to activate burners on my Wolf 5 burner stove, maybe they should make a griddle with 2 discs underneath.

Range Kleen 10 Inch Open Fry Pan Stainless Steel

Range Kleen 10 Inch Open Fry Pan Stainless SteelUGH!!!!!!!!This is a beautiful, heavy duty sturdy pan, sturdy sides, sturdy handle, sits even, really nice, even cooking, at first.....

However, could somebody find away to make a pan non-stick without the poison of current non-stick? It's been done with baking pans so why not fry pans and sauce pans?Even more important could everyone NOT advertise non-stick if it's not non-stick?

I used a TON of butter to coat this pan the first time I used it to scramble eggs, hoping it would not stick.UGH they didn't just stick, we (hubby, the dish dog) had to wash it three times first was right after eating, the other two times were after soaking it in scorching hot water for hours. After the 2nd time, it was clean along the flat bottom but what was in the grooves along the inside would not unstick.WHY OH WHY IS THERE A GROOVE ON THE INSIDE OF A PAN? EVEN ON THE BEST PAN, YOU'LL NEVER GET FOOD OUT OF A GROOVE!

Good news, after extensive scrubbing with a scrubby side of the sponge, three washes later, it is clean and there are no scratches from the scrubby sponge. But I will never ever buy this brand of stainless again, EVER. I (HE) will not wash a pan, with that much scrubbing effort and soaking time, three times to get it clean, everytime we cook.Eventually it will end up donated or in the trash.

Berndes SignoCast Classic 8-Inch Skillet

Berndes SignoCast Classic 8-Inch SkilletI know kitchens -I worked as a short-order cook for years.

This is a quality piece of cookware.Decent weight, well-machined.Berndes' non-stick coating is, for me, the standard against which I compare all others (and it's the only non-stick cookware I've ever been happy with). We've had the first pan for a year or three, and my wife still hasn't managed to destroy it.Yet.

For me, a HUGE plus (and what makes the purchase a no-brainer) is that there are no rivets inside the pan.(IMHO, rivets have no business on the inside of any pan - makes cooking & clean-up more work.)

It's quite simply a flawless omelet pan.I've not used anything better at any price.

This pan is very light and well made.I could tell the difference in quality between other pans immediately. The cast aluminum is much better quality than molded. It also distributes the heat evenly, and the non stick coating is smooth and durable. It makes absolutely perfect omelets!I am SO happy with this pan!

Maxx and/or Marshall's, but don't see them often and still looking for more.I was drawn to how smooth the pans are inside and out and haven't regretted a day using them.Made in Germany.Absolutely the best saucepans and omelet pans you can buy. Will see what Amazon's selection is and probably buy more.

Eco Life Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Fry Pan, 2-Pack

Eco Life Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Fry Pan, 2-PackI recently purchased a roasting pan by the same company and loved the weight, size, and the fact that there are no PFO/PFTE used in making the pan. This lead me to give these frying pans a try and I have not been dissapointed. The sizes are great and the non-stick works perfectly. They may seem pricey but after researching many brands of safe non-stick pans that had poor reviews I am very happy that I decided to try the frying pans from Eco Life.

I am very picky about cookware. I have gone through many non stick pans through the years and these are some of the best. The coating is not just one of the most "non stick" that I have used, it is also one of the most durable. I have been using these pans for almost a year now and see almost no wear to the cooking surface. Overall if you are in need of a quality product for a reasonable price these are a good pick.

Trying to avoid Teflon I purchased these coated aluminum pans.Don't know if this coating is any tougher or safer. They are fine for daily general use, not fancy but adequate. The coating appears to be holding up well so far (three weeks) and I've had no issues of sticking. The handles are hollow and have a brushed aluminum appearance, not real solid stainless so the pans are light grade.Don't use high heat and use wood or nylon tools and these should be worth the price.

Looking for a ceramic non-stick pan, I had high hopes for this because I thought it was like one I had purchased for my mom. The coating looked great and would probably last about as long as the next pan, but I couldn't keep it to make sure because it warped when I put it on the heat. I have a glass cook top and as soon as I set the pan down I noticed it rocked back and forth a little, getting worse as it heated up. I went up to a higher price point and found heavier built pans.
