Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware SetI recently bought a ceramic cooktop stove and none of my pans would work well because of the grooves in the bottom. These pans are PERFECT for anyone who has a ceramic/glass cooktop. The bottoms are flat, they cook evenly and cleanup...no matter how greasy/messy...is a breeze!

We purchased a 14 piece Circulon commercial set at Costco about five years ago. A couple of the sauce pans that get used daily are wearing out due to our abuse not the product. We felt it was time to replace the set. We examined many sets online and in the store. We loved our old Circulon set so that was top on our list. Two things that was a must was glass lids and heat proof handles which became our biggest challenge. The lids and handles is what solidified our choice to purchase Circulon a second time. This set is great, we are really happy with the choice. The set looks awesome, the cookware is solid and well balanced. It is thicker than our commercial set and I am sure will last us for many years too come.

The issue that almost killed our purchase is that the set does not include a 3 quart saucepan. The 3 quart saucepan is our most used and abused piece and for this set it is sold separate for $70. We temparararily solved this issue with a Circulon Total 3.5 quart sauce pot on sale for $29.99 at a local dept store and used a lid from our old set to replace the metal lid that came with it. Not a perfect match but solved our problem for now. and we saved $50. As long as Circulon offers heavy duty cookware at a good price with clear lids and heat proof handles we will probably stay loyal to the product.

Prologue: It has been two months with the set and it is awesome. We still have not picked up the 3 quart (Haven't found it on sale for the right price). But we did find the 12" deep skillet with lid for $39.95 & the 11" griddle for $29.95 at a local discount home store. The 12" deep skillet is actually a must (the 10" that comes with the set is just too small for everyday use). The skillet is designed so well that without the lid it is rounded enough inside to be a 12" skillet or wok substitute. So you will want some extra pieces but the set is worth it.

I first purchased the wok, loved it so much, I knew the set would be a worthwhile purchase.

The pots and pans are fantastic !

I have baked, covered and uncovered,at 400 degrees various recipes in these pots, and the food cooks and browns evenly, yet the food never burns or adhears to the surfaces, its absolutely remarkable, and these pans are a joy to clean, yes I said joy. Its so easy, I almost feel guilty.

The lids appear to be dishwasher safe,( I hand wash them) and although well designed for cooking, the channeled rims do require a little more focus durring cleaning.

I have a glass top range, and the bottoms of these pots are perfect and compatable.

I shopped for a better price, not to be found, typical amazon shopping experience... total satisfaction.

Buy these circulon ELITE, the most atractive and functional of the circulon line, culinary gratification guaranteed!

ONE YEAR update: still love my pans, still look and work like new! I do put the lids in the dishwasher. I have NEVER had issues with a pan tipping over, maybe the one reviewer should level his range top?

the current price is a STEAL, great wedding gift, or gift to self if you love cooking, but hate clean-up !

The picture of the Circulon Elite set includes the large frying pan with the handle, known as a "chicken fryer". This item is NOT included in the set. Although this is a good set of cookware, I bought it because it included the chicken fryer. I was really disappointed when I opened the box and the covered frying pan was a regular small pan. Now I still have to purchase the other frying pan at an additional cost. It would have been more cost-effective to purchase the set from Circulon's website at a higher price and get their double bonus with the purchase. Per piece it would have been less expensive.

Nonstick 4-Piece Egg/Pancake Ring Set

Nonstick 4-Piece Egg/Pancake Ring SetThese rings are the perfect size for making eggs to put on english muffins or small hamburger buns. (like the Breakfast Jack) I have not tried to make pancakes in them, because they would be really tiny and I do not have a need for perfectly round pancakes. This product consists of four separate rings that can connect to a handle.I have had my best results when I just use the rings by themselves and don't bother with the handle. The eggs still stick to the edge of the ring a little bit, so I have to tap the spatula against the ring as I am lifting it up (using a glove-style potholder. When the rings are all connected it is harder to get each egg out of the ring cleanly. Also, be aware that if your pan is a little warped, then a little bit of egg can leak from under the ring.If you just leave it, however, the little bit that leaks will cook fast and prevent more from leaking out.

Overall, I love these!I worked at Jack in the Box as a teenager and have always wanted egg rings.I gave it 4 stars just because the handle is kind of flimsy and it really is impractical to use for pancakes.

I had been looking for egg rings (without knowing what such a thing was actually called) for a long time before I happened upon these babies. As soon as I saw them I knew they were exactly what I had been looking for and ordered them on the spot.Unfortunately, my glee turned sour when I tried to use my new egg rings.

A lot of people report they haven't had a problem with sticking, but that is not consistant with my experience.Eggs stick to virtually everything, and these rings are no exception.Trying to remove the ring and flip the egg is a pain, usually I flip the ring and the egg flips with it, and then I have to cut the egg away from the ring so it falls down to the pan.

I love all kinds of yeast raised breads, and recently I discovered British crumpets. These are a kind of thick pancake batter raised with yeast, and cooked on one side until the top is dry.The top is covered with holes, which suck up the butter when you toast them.Crumpets can be made without rings, but they end up thin at the edges and thicker in the center less than perfect for soaking up that butter.I readily found crumpet rings galore in UK and AU, but finally discovered that they are called 'pancake rings' here in the states.I've never needed rings for pancakes, and several other reviewers are equally mystified as to why anyone would want perfectly round pancakes.

So buy these and try one of the many crumpet recipes online.

I couldn"t find any ringslocally to make my version of"egg mcmuffins". Took a chance on this product and "wow" is all I can say. No sticking what so ever. I sprayed them lightly with oil and had no problem at all.Highly recommend these.

I purchased this item because my husband wanted me to try out egg rings. After reading the reviews, this one had the highest recommends so I purchased. Read the reviews so I sprayed the rings with nonstick cooking spray first, made sure I had out my square 12"x12" pan so I could do all 4 rings at once.I cracked the eggs & started to fill each one with an egg, like others have mentioned a small amount leaks out but stops rapidly enough. Then I broke the yolk since I was making egg breakfast sandwiches, then I picked up the holder handle & handle came up & off but nothing else, so I agree lose the handle & holder, just use the rings & tongs/flipper/etc. to lift up when ready.Sometimes the egg does still stick to the side but just take your flipper & scrap around the inside edge & this usually works well enough.Like a few of the other reviewers have mentioned better than the eggs running into each other, eggs fit better on the muffin, biscuit, or bagel.I have not used for pancakes because that's a baby pancake 3.5" & I prefer a nice large one.If I had it all over to do again, I would look for a single nonstick round frame with a nice 2-3" handle with a wooden knob on top.Cleanup is a breeze.3 stars = it's OK.

Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Ribbed Fajita Platter Set

Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Ribbed Fajita Platter SetI bought two and they were better than I expected. The cast-iron pans are perfect for fajitas, but they also work great for a couple of hamburgers, bacon, veggies or anything else you'd like to "grill" on the stove (or on a real grill) when you don't need big, round, cast-iron pan.The top varnish on the wooden pan-holders quickly gets toasted, but that's part of it's charm, it goes with the cast iron. The little pot-holders for the handles are great for the table, but a larger mitt is safer while grilling.NOTE: this IS cast iron and you will need to properly "season" the pans before you first use them to keep food from sticking.

We bouight this set, not just for fajitas, but for meat/veggies after grilling. They work great and keep food hot. Also, the mitts work good when transporting the food to the platters. No unwieldy pot holders to deal with, another nice feature.

I had always wanted to buy sizzler platters, but since I needed three, I was looking for the right price, which I found at amazon. I followed the instructions very carefully before use so that they will last me for a long time. The wooden base and the handle holders make it very convenient and comfortable to hold. We use them atleast once a week and enjoy homemade sizzlers.

This is probably one of the best purchases I have made for our kitchen in some time.

Mauviel M'stone2 8229.20 Frying Pan, 8-Inch

Mauviel M'stone2 8229.20 Frying Pan, 8-Inch

The 8-inch, nonstick skillet is an often used pan in my kitchen.I use it for quick, little meals such as a grilled cheese sandwich, a burger, an omelette, even for making pan sauces.I usually buy good quality skillets but try to get them on sale for around $20-40.I think that may be why I go through them in about 2 years.Although this one is more expensive, I believe that it is worth it.Mauviel is a French company that has been making kitchenware for many years and they are used by tons of professional chefs.

I thought that this short video of the Mauviel frying pan in action might be helpful to potential buyers. Thanks for looking!

Awesome little breakfast pan. Great for a single serving of eggs, scrambled or over-easy, sunnyside-up.

However, I bought the pan for omelettes. It is a little too small and the sidewall slope is too abrupt for the ideal rolling action required for classic French omelettes. I am going to go with the next size up and I think that ought to do the job.

Nevertheless, this is an extremely well made piece of cookware.

The first few months this pan was marvelous. After about 4 months of use, fried eggs started to stick in a certain area. There appears to be a manufacturing flaw in the non stick coating.Since this product is over 30 days old, we now have to go through the hassle of returning it to the manufacturer.Thankfully, due to the price, proof of purchase and UPC were saved for such an issue.Hopefully, the manufacturer will stand behind the product as promised. However, they did not respond to our first email inquiry.

1-20-13

They stood behind their product.Customer Service was helpful and courteous.I was offered a replacement or a store credit of equal value. This time I went with a stainless steel interior pan.To date, the product performs as expected for superb browning and pan drippings.

Farberware Millennium Stainless Steel Soft Touch Nonstick Skillet

Farberware Millennium Stainless Steel Soft Touch Nonstick Skillet, 10-InchI bought this skillet for use with my induction burner (and it works well with that) but the nonstick coating is so much better than expected, I've ended up using it on my standard electric stove as well.

I'm an All-Clad user and have their nonstick skillet, but after a short time stuff sticks, coating or not. With this pan, after two years of pretty constant use, everything still slides out perfectly as though it were brand new.I'm not a gentle cook and have managed to scratch it a little. It doesn't matter; it is still perfectly nonstick. That makes clean up so easy I rarely bother to put it in the dishwasher.A quick swish with a soapy sponge and it's clean.

On the down side, it's almost impossible to keep the outside bottom of the pan shiny because of the ridged pattern so I can't hang it for display, but that's a small price to pay for omelets that slide out easily or grill cheeses that brown beautifully (even the cheese doesn't stick).

I have the 8-inch version too, which I use often for single servings and crepes. If I'm trying for a nice sauté, I usually use a regular non-coated pan, but this does work for that.It just takes a little longer.

Since I often use it on my regular stove, the temperature can get pretty high and I have been known to burn things--but they still slide out and clean up is easy.If this pan ever gives out, I'll buy another.I'm really sold on it for nonstick cooking.

We love this skillet! It has a great non-stick coating, which is hard to find in skillets that can be used on induction ranges, especially at this reasonable price. It's perfect for making omelets and other egg dishes. It heats up quickly and is easy to clean.I'd recommend it highly for all types of ranges, but it works especially well on an induction cooktop.

I've had this pan for about six months and I really like it. It is nicely balanced and the non-slip handle fits my hand perfectly. The non-stick surface is very good and the pan cooks evenly.

Cleaning the bottom is a bit tough due to the fine concentric rings. There is a noticeable crevice where the disk meets the pan that is a gunk magnet, and damn near impossible to clean out. If you are anal about such things this will drive you nuts. Otherwise the exterior is no harder to clean than any other polished stainless cookware. The interior is almost self-cleaning. Farberware says you can put in the dishwasher, but we don't.

Unlike my other Millennium cookware, this one is not tri-ply, but stainless with a disk bottom. The disk is big enough so under normal cooking on a gas range the flame does not extend beyond the disk.

The only unknown is longevity. If I get at least two years out of it I'll be happy. If not, I'll update this review.

Update July 3, 2011: While the interior surface looks nearly perfect, it has started to lose its non-stickness. Unless I use oil or butter my eggs stick to the surface. I am starting to look for a replacement. Downgraded from 4 stars to 3.

I purchased this frying pan after being disappointed by so many others. The biggest problem I have with large frying pans is that they don't stay flat on the stovetop.I have a flat top stove.I LOVE THIS PAN!It's heavy duty.Heating is EVEN.The handle is very comfortable and it's super thick stainless steel has remained very flat.Clean up is a breeze. No problems at all with this one.I highly recommend it.Like the old saying goes:You get what you pay for.I would definitely purchase this pan again.

Circulon Elite Nonstick 12" Open French Skillet

Circulon Elite Nonstick 12' Open French SkilletI have to return this now because the phrase "18/10 stainless" only refers to the handle, not the whole pan.I have a full set of Circulon pans that work with our induction cooktop this one looks just like them. But this one apparently is aluminum (never mentioned in the product description) and it does not have the steel bottom needed for induction cooktops. For any other cooking method, this would be great.Circulon pans are great -far easier to care for than All-Clad.

Start with this is a great product--cooks evenly and is truly nonstick and washable.I purchased this item to go along with set of 10.I also purchased the 12" frying pan with a top.Honestly, you do not need both since they are virtually the same pans. The slight slope of the side classifies the pan as a skillet and if the side is striaight, it is classified as a frying pan.If I had to do it over again, I would just buy the frying pan since it has a top whereas the skillet does not.

I purchased elite as opposed to infiniti even tho elite cannot go into the dishwasher and cannot be in the oven at a tempt above 400 to get the silicone handles (Note, you can put the tops in the dishwasher).

In addition to really wanting elite, one can make exceedingly good purchases--Circulon may be considering dropping the line for more jazzi colors like platnum etc.Amazon's price moves up and down so be sure to check the web like potsandpans.com

De Buyer Blue Steel French Crepe Pan 20 cm

De Buyer Blue Steel French Crepe Pan 20 cmThis pan makes the absolute best 1-egg omelets and crepes out of any other pan I have ever used. The low skirt makes flipping easy. A few things to remember when using this pan; 1-Heat well before use, coat with fat. You want to heat it for abut 5 minutes a little less then medium (on electric) before coating with butter. If the butter melts quick without browning, the pan is properly preheated. Spread the fat and add the well beat eggs or crepe batter. Swirl to spread evenly. PRACTICE FLIPPING. every chance you get. Two things will make you look like a total kitchen stud, one is a perfect souffle, the other is flipping a crepe/omelet. Its all in the wrist.

2Treat this pan like cast iron. Those cast iron aficionados know what I mean. Never use soap. Dry immediately. Oil after dried. Everything in your life needs maintenance, your car, your pet, your house, your cookware is no different. With proper care, this is just as non-stick as Teflon, only this wont kill your parakeet and eventually give you cancer. Also very good for searing meaty fish and rare steak.

Bottom line is, this is a fantastic piece of cookware, not only for this price point, but for ANY price point. You just have to know how to use it. Dont be lame and buy a Chinese made Teflon pan for your omelets, be super-cool and buy a French-made blue-steel pan. Look like a pro. Cook like a pro.

T-fal Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, Silver

T-fal C8110764 Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, SilverI bought this from Wal-Mart and absolutely love it. A common complaint that I've run into is that foods "stick" more than their other pans. This actually IS true if you do not adjust your cooking method. A little bit of oil olive goes a long way, and TURN DOWN THE HEAT!

If you cook something at maximum heat, you WILL have issues. Turn down the heat, this requires less heat than other pans I've used, which is good because it is using less energy to cook in the same amount of time.

It's very sturdy, cleans easily and is just a real pleasure to look at and cook with! Highly recommended.

Bought this pan hoping it would live up to its description. It didn't!The steel is quite thin.No matter what I cook in it, using moderate amounts of oil, the food sticks and clean up is impossible.I have other stainless steel pans which work beautifully conduct heat well, food doesn't stick and clean up is a breeze, (no they're not All-Clad and I didn't pay a fortune).Although I've had T-Fal products which are quite good this is definitely not one of them.Do not buy this pot!

Buy T-fal Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, Silver Now

Although I think this is a very sturdy pan, I have to agree with the first two reviewers that it has a "sticking" problem. It makes no sense to me, I thought stainless steel is stainless steel.

The only solution I have found is that it must be seasoned before using. I do this by by coating the inside with oil, and heating it at a low temperature (just below the smoking point of the oil) for about half an hour. Then, it becomes a nice fry pan.

Or, if you use it daily, wipe yesterday's oil out with a paper towel and rinse under the tap, then heat it, and then the cooking surface is much friendlier than if you had scoured it.

This sticking problem makes it as finicky as a cast iron skillet, but it is friendly if you treat it right.

I bought this pan because I got rid of my non-stick one. When I first used it, I thought oh my what have I done, the eggs stuck and it was a mess.I then decided I would treat it like a chief's pan.I wash it only with hot water and afterwards I smear a drop or two of oil into the pan and put it away.I preheat the the pan before putting food in it and never use heat higher than medium high, I can now fry an egg with a loose yolk and get it out of the pan easily. It's been about two months since I bought it and its working fine.In a years time it should be wonderful.

Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black.

Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black. Some customers have commented on how poor this one performs, and blaming Cooks Illustrated for the recommendation.

However, CI recommends the professional griddle; the PCG-10, and not this one.

I agree, this one does not perform the same. I tried this one first, sent it back and ordered the PCG-10, which is a bit more expensive but well worth the money. I was trying to save a few bucks as well and purchased this one, thinking it would be the same, only without the back splash. I was wrong.

Go for the one that was recommended; it's really great although the price is higher.

I too read the recommendation from the Cook's Illustrated and purchased the griddle. My griddle also heats unevenly. So I'd say three out of three reviews with experience with four griddles this griddle does not perform well.In addition, it has a rather industrial finish to it, not at all refined in appearance or feel.I was very disappointed. The one upside is the large surface area, much larger than most.Last point, even though it says it has a teflon non-stick surface you still have to season the pan or things will stick.

Buy Broil King 21x12-in. Nonstick Professional Griddle, Black. Now

Cook's Illustrated (CI) rated this griddle high in a product test, so I purchased one (through a different retailer than this one) at the end of 2005. The large surface is great. Six large pancakes can cook at once, a pound of thick-sliced bacon can be squeezed onto the surface, and two omelets can cook side-by-side.

Clean up is a breeze since the entire griddle (minus controller) can be dunked into the sink. I did see some staining of the cooktop when bacon was cooked, but as long as you wipe the grease off right away and lay a wet towel on the hot surface to loosen the stuck-on residue, it cleans up well.

Although CI said this griddle had even heating, I discovered that my griddle had uneven heat across the surface. The third of the griddle nearest the controller heats to the temperature of the controller, but the opposite two-thirds was about 100 degrees hotter. This was very evident when cooking pancakes the uneven heat caused the cakes to be two different colors.

Perhaps mine was the exception and the uneven heating is a fluke on this one. The retailer agreed to a return of my griddle so I hope to have a new one soon. I'm interested to hear what others have experienced with this griddle.

Update 8/16/06: I received a new, replacement griddle from the retailer. Although this one doesn't have the high range of temperature difference that the first one did, it too heats unevenly. The surface temp is about 60 degrees hotter than the controller temp across most of the griddle; one small spot registers the same temp as the controller setting. Overall, I'm disappointed with the griddle and with the review by Cook's Illustrated.

As stated on the Broil King web site, this grill is the same as the PCG-10 less a small backsplash.

I have owned this grill for over two years and used it fairly regularly 3 to 5 times a week.

First, save your money and buy this model verse the PCG-10. I took the backsplash off and have never needed it. It looks nice but isn't useful.

The grill has held up well. The only problem being, after using the grill for two years, that the temputure control unit that plugs into the side burned out, and now I have to order a new control unit replacement part. Still compared to other cheap electric grills, the Broil King has a heavier non stick cook top and cooks evenly with good temputure control range. The big surface works well for six large pancakes or a pound of bacon.

As far as electric grills go this one is good.

I spent more in hopes of having a reliable griddle that would be even cooking. I should have stuck with the 30 dollar ones. There is a stain around the element ON the front finish. Not good. It cooks very unevenly, not to mention the fact that the handles are a bad design. They broke during shipping and had to be replaced. If you want a good griddle, keep looking.

Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Open Skillets Twin Pack

Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Open Skillets Twin PackThis two-pack is a great bargain. The skillets cook very well, and look better in person than they do in the photos. They have nicely attached handles, copper detailing on the bottom disc, and so forth -details that I would expect to find only in 10" skillets of $80 or so. Having two for less than $50 is excellent.

I've used the 10" a few times a week for several months and it still looks brand new. It cleans up perfectly with soap and water on both the cooking surface and the outside. I cook on a DCS gas cooktop, and the pans cook very evenly and are able to brown things nicely (with a bit of added oil). The surfaces seem to be just as good as on the first day.

Two notes that bear repeating for non-stick cookware: clean by hand, not in a dishwasher; and never, ever overheat them -use low to medium heat, never heat them when empty, and always add at least a few drops of oil so you'll be able to brown and have a warning sign (smoke) if overheated.

Cheers!

I purchased the Nouvelle Copper Anodized 8and 10-inch set from Macy's when it was on sale for something like $35 with a coupon. This series is coated with Dupont Autograph 2, which is Dupont's top of the line, most durable, nonstick coating. Is it toxic like Teflon? Well, it's listed in the same section of the Dupont website as Teflon, so it probably contains many of the same toxic chemical components. In fact, I can't tell if Autograph 2 is a product within the Teflon series from their website.

Anolon claims that these pans are oven safe to 500 degrees, which was a selling point for me. Most other nonsticks top out at 400 or 450 degrees. I figure the higher the temperature it can withstand, the less likely it'll melt or release toxic fumes during normal cooking.

These pans are heavy. Not cast-iron heavy, but certainly the heaviest non-stick pans I've ever owned. This is due to the thick bottom, which does result in longer preheating times (despite the copper), but ensures even heating across the bottom (no hot-spots, less burning).

The 8 inch pan, which I use most, is still fairly non-stick after a year and a half. The 10 inch pan has lost it's non-stick ability entirely. Eggs and fish stick to it as if it were unseasoned cast iron (OK, maybe not *that* bad).

I've taken good care of these pans, ensuring that I never heated above medium, used only wooden or silicon utensils, always allowed to cool before cleaning, and always hand washing with a non abrasive detergent and non abrasive sponge. But still, the 10 incher has failed. I should state that I do cook quite a bit, and these pans have gotten quite a bit of use. And they lasted as long as most of my other recent nonsticks have lasted. Well, at least the 10 inch did. As I already mentioned, the 8 inch is still decent. I give it another year tops before I have to replace that as well.

I just might take advantage of Anolon's lifetime warranty. I'm not sure it's worth it though, as I'll have to pay the shipping fees to send the pan to Anolon. And for all I know, they might not even honor the warranty after I send it...

EDIT:

Another selling point for me was that fact that these were manufactured in Thailand. Just about every other nonstick pan I've seen is made in China. China is perfectly capable of good manufacturing, but often quality control sucks (depending on the brand). Add to that various other factors and I'll gladly choose a pan made in Thailand. However, the recent floods crippled their manufacturing infrastructure, so maybe these will be made in China now.

These are flat bottom, and work well with our glass topped electric stove.I can't comment on durability, because I haven't had them very long. They are well built, have a great non stick coating, strong handles that stay cool, and cook very evenly on my electric stove. The paperwork (or box, don't recall) say it's okay to use metal utensils with it.

Although I can throw a meal together, or follow a recipe, I'm no home-gourmet cook.My observation is that these take a little longer to heat through then the old cheap pans I used to have.Since there is a copper layer in the pan, I assumed it would heat faster. But they are thicker and heavier then the cheapos, so I guess that's what makes the difference. This is NOT a problem by any stretch.

I recently bought the 12 inch skillet, they all cook great.I wanted lids for the pans, and found that the glass lids from the Anolon "Advanced" cookware line fit very well, and look great. But as far as I can see, you can only buy a 10-12 inch set of lids. Not individually, and not for the 8 inch.Anolon Advanced Glass Lids 10-Inch and 12-Inch Glass Lids Twin Pack

I bought these to replace aging tfal pans. No comparison they seem well made heavy duty pan for all cooking types. manufacture recommends no use of spray on oils. I think If I follow their instructions for use the pans will be around for a long time. I just need to keep them out of the hands of my twenty year old.

I am a big All-Clad snob.I bought this set for one reason only, to flip eggs using the 8" pan.I started to use the 10" to cook things like sauteed vegetables. Then I discovered how great the pan works for fried potatoes.Maybe I'm not such an All-Clad snob after all, I love my Anolon nonstick pans, they now get used as much as my All-Clad stainless pans. The Anolon pans are still going strong after 2+ years of use.

By the way, the eggs flip easily using the 8" pan.

Not only is the VERTI turner pleasing to the eye, but extremely functional and well balanced. The rounded end is great for using in my wok.The raised edges make stir-frying and spooning food much easier.I have found that it also works well on my grill (an added bonus, as I originally bought it for my wok).In fact, I liked it so much, I bought one for my mother also.

I have been learning how to cook with a wok, following the explanations given by Grace Young in "Stir-frying to the Sky's Edge" and the "Breath of the Wok."I tried various tools to do the fast turning required by effective, traditional stir-frying before realizing that in all the photographs of Chinese women with their woks they were holding what looked like long handled pancake turners.

After a search, I found this stainless steel one that works just perfectly... long enough to protect my hand from the heat, insulated so that I don't have to have a glove on to use it (although I certainly have a glove on the other hand to be able to move the wok around if I need to), and with a big-enough "shovel" to turn considerable amounts of food quickly.I have found this tool to be an essential part of successful stir-frying in a wok.I recommend it without reservation.

As Seen On TV 8153 Big Boss Grill 15-Piece, 6 in 1 Grill Set

As Seen On TV 8153 Big Boss Grill 15-Piece, 6 in 1 Grill SetI cannot believe that such a reputable place would keep these grills on their sites.I recieved this grill for Christmas and was so excited because I had seen it on TV and it looked perfect for my husband and I.

I used it a few times and it grilled perfectly. However, after about 3 times when I plugged it in nothing happened.I cannot tell you how disappointed I was.I went to the computer to see if anyone else had this problem and lo and behold their were hundreds of customers with similar problems. It seems to me that if a company had recieved numerous complaints about a product they sold (The Big Boss Grill) they would look into what was causing the problems and either fix it or take it off the market.I would have sent it back and I still might, but the shipping charges cost almost as much as the grill.Since most people don't send it back precisely for that reason the company makes out.Amazon I have done a lot of business with you in the past and I have been extremely satisfied with everything I purchased.I know people sell things through your site and if something isn't right it is up to the company that is selling it.However, if I were you after reading all the negative comments about the big boss grill I would not accept the site that was selling that product. It is your name that makes people think everything you sell on your site will be A-Okey.

First off, this is not an expensive kitchen appliance and it is apparent in the design; no on/off switch, plug into outlet equals on, unplug equals off. There is really no frills to this device, which you would expect at this price point.I purchased this device in order to make waffles every now and again at home and liked the fact that it was capable of making other food items. As far as form, it is small and will fit easily in a drawer or cupboard when not in use.The 6 no-stick inserts come with a rack which is also nice for storage in a cupboard. The inserts snap into place and are removed easily. As far as function goes, it cooks really well and will turn out approximately 2 servings at a time with a 3-5 minute warm up and an average of 5 minutes to cook just about anything.I would say that this device is best used for waffles, eggs, grilled pocket sandwiches and panini sandwiches versus more complicated meals such as raw chicken breasts.I feel the price is worth it for the versatility as well as easy clean up and I use it about twice a week for a quick grilled sandwiches or waffles on the weekend. Some may not like the fact that you can only turn out two at a time, but really how many grilled cheese can you make at once in a frying pan? And those don't seal the edges.Good product considering you are not dropping tons of money, the versatility of items you can make and small size for storage. You are basically spending about the same as a toaster oven, so don't expect it to mop your floors too.If your expectations are reasonable, this is a convenient little device.

What was I thinking? This thing would be okay if you are cooking for 1 or 2 people. Any more and everyone would have to eat at separate times.

I only use it to cook omlettes and waffles now. The grilled cheese has the crusty ends which my kids do not like. When I cooked chicken on it, I have to cut the breasts into tenders. It takes closer to 9 minutes for 1 chicken breast cut medium thickness. If you are cooking for four or more, someone is getting a cold piece of chicken.

Also, last night I cooked a breast in it, I noticed that all the juices had nowhere to go. So much of it went under the plate. I DO know that electricity and liquids don't mix.. I hope it isn't damaged now. So now when I cook chicken, I will take out the old frying pan again..

I haven't made a donut, hamburger, or a pannini yet. Donuts look real small though. I do like the way the omlettes come out, but it takes closer to 9 minutes, than 5 minutes as suggested. I feel french toast would probably work, but again, only 2 at a time. 5-6 minutes each.. Good Luck!

Also, I recieved a phone call telling me that since I was such a good customer , that I would be recieving $40 in free gas vouchers in the mail, along with a bunch of other discounts that I could use for a try out period. It would cost me $24, after the first month. If I want to cancel it, just call the number. I did not recieve this envelope, therefore cannot camcel. I called Big Boss Headquarters, and they told me that they have nothing to do with this promo. How dare them give my credit card number to someone else. Now I have to go to my bank and fix this mess.!!

Anyway, if you want to eat waffles or omlettes for one or 2 people, this is for you.I won't use this for chicken or grilled cheese ever again.

I wish I could get my money back.. Maybe I'll stop payment.

I live in a small apartment with a very small kitchen, and I have an even smaller amount of time to clean a grill.I've had contact grills before (the George Foreman line is so far still the best IMHO), but when you need to save both space and time this is a good buy. It's not great, but it does work once you figure out its quirks. The indicator lights are a great touch so I know when it's come up to heat. Also, the dishwasher-safe plates are a definite plus.

Some things I've found:

-The heater does not have the wattage to deal with frozen hamburger patties. It will, however, work great on fresh ones.

-If you're a culinary nitpicker, the omelet plate won't make a true omelet. However, it does make a tasty breakfast "scramble."

-The grill will hold grease away from the meat, but you need to drain it between individual servings. This can be dangerous to say the least.(I use a set of nomex gloves...good luck finding those.)

-The griddle is good, but not great. It might make a good supplemental griddle for, say, when you have a lot of relatives over and you've got all burners going on the cook top.

For a general-purpose all-in-one appliance, this is a good design. However, it is not the best for all tasks.A good starter, say for the college or graduate student, but not for someone who wants a serious contact grill.

I bought this thinking it looked very versatile. Well maybe it is but in minature size. Silly me..I didn't look at dimensions. This unit is quite small. The Dounut pan would make dounuts the size or smaller that Dunkin Holes. I don't know what I was expecting but I'm not sure this is it. haven't used it yet as I'm not sure whether I should bother keeping it.

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 14-inch Carbon Steel Flat Bottom Lidded Wok Set

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 14-inch Carbon Steel Flat Bottom Lidded Wok SetThis is a great wok. The carbon steel is easy to season, making it virtually non-stick (without the chemicals), the flat bottom means it is stable while sitting on a burner, and the heft keeps it from slipping around. The domed lid is great for steaming, and there is ample space inside for a bamboo steamer.

I priced these in retail stores in the area, as well as other outlets online, and this sells for at least a competitive price.

I have this wok and was surprised at the number of negative reviews...especially as regards rusting. I treat this wok in the same manner that I treat my cast-iron. Living in the South, everyone has a cast-iron skillet and knowledge of how to properly treat one, so maybe that give me an advantage, who knows? The fact is that you should dry this wok immediately after use and cleaning. I like to clean mine as soon as I'm done cooking b/c the residual heat makes it very easy to remove any leftover bits of food or sauce. To clean, I don't use any soap, so as not to disturb the seasoning...merely run hot water over it and scrub away any food particles with a stiff bristle brush. A bit of manuevering is needed b/c of the size of this wok and the small sink in my house, but all in all it takes no more than a minute or two to get it clean. Afterwards, I use a single paper towel to get the water off and wipe the inside with a bit of oil. In the two years I've owned this wok, I never had a bit of rust show up. I do, however, concede that the seasoning instructions that came with the wok aren't as good as what you can find online. I used the onion method (found a great vid on Youtube), and my wok developed a nice, brown seasoning that has, over the last couple of years, developed into a pitch black, non-stick area. The only down side to this is that I'd really love to start steaming some meals, and I worry that repeated use of boililng water would degrade the seasoning over time. In that respect, I suppose a non-stick variety, which didn't require an outside process, would be better suited.

Yes, the lid is thin and easy to ding, but the wok is heavy enough that I already need two hands to move it from point A to B, I don't want a heavy lid to contend with either. That's just personal preference; however, having Chinese friends whose woks (some actually brought over from the mainland) have lids just as thin and look like they've been through meteor shower, I believe this trait is actually motivated by functionality and authenticity than just the company trying cut corners.

My favorite part of this wok is how it cooks. I have a little 10 inch nonstick model that I love because it's so light and easy to work with, however, the nonstick never gets hot enough to add that bit of char that I find so tasty in stirfries. I recently made some shrimp with vegetables and white sauce, and (when done right) the shrimp have these wonderful little singed edges that add such a wonderful nuance to the dish. The trick to to stirfry each group separately and then join them together at the end so as not to disperse the heat too much. Will post pictures soon. I've cooked squid stirfry, fried rice, shrimp stirfry, bitter melon with pork, and a host of other things that turned out really well.

This is a great wok for the price. Be sure you follow the instructions and "season" it well first so nothing sticks. Also you need to immediately dry it after washing. Other than that I am thrilled with the wok.

I honestly felt like I was stealing from somebody when I clicked the "purchase" button. After researching the best equipment for Asian cooking, the experts concluded that the carbon steel flat bottom wok scored top marks with professional chefs. The idea is to season the wok (you can find out how to do this on about.com) instead of purchasing a teflon coated one.I cannot emphasise how important this step is if you want to create the perfect Singapore Noodles or Chow Mein! You will be cooking like a pro in no time, for almost no cost at all.

This wok seems to be a pretty decent wok. I treated it according to instructions found on internet, and we used it once so far. I expect it to last for a long time if I keep it oiled well and dry after use. No complaints about the product itself. HOWEVER, the shipping of this item needs to be improved. The handle (a hollow, wooden piece with a bolt through it) was shipped inside the aluminum lid. The lid arrived with numerous dents since the handle is thrown around during shipping and the steel parts smack into the inside of the soft aluminum lid every time the box tumbles over during shipping (my best theory for the damage). Those bumps are easily visible on the outside of the otherwise great looking lid. I would say there are about 20 dents on the inside of the lid. It looks like someone took a little hammer and went to work on the inside. I decided to not care (and did notwant to send back the item), but the lid looked worse when it arrived than the lid of the wok we had in use for many years. Just so you know.

Earth Pan Stainless Steel 9" and 11" Skillet Twin Pack

Earth Pan Stainless Steel 9' and 11' Skillet Twin PackWe were initially impressed with how slippery the surface was we could hardly flip eggs they were so slippery! However, we have had them 4 months and within a couple of months residue was sticking to the pans and we took special care never to be abrasive with them -had to be very careful to let residue actually stay on them as we couldn't get it off at all!!Now the actual finish is coming off and there are areas all over both pans where the finish is completely missing. They are impossible to clean and look awful...plus the finish is disappearing!! They are a waste of money and will not last more than 6 months if you use them much at all!Stir frying veggies, frying eggs, bacon etc. are just not possible without permanent staining, residue buildup, and the finish coming off in a few months!!I am really upset cause it was around Christmastime and I ordered one for my mother also!!I can promise they were not abused and we just had to buy new skillets as everything now sticks to them and they will NOT clean. I fried fish in one the other night and the whole battered outside stuck to the pan and wouldn't even clean off. If you have to use real abrasive cleaners you might as well write it off...the finish is coming off and we haven't even used anything abrasive on them! The inside of the handle also has two screws which collect food and don't clean easily, either.Put your money elsewhere! They won't fall apart until your 30 day return policy has expired! The rapid deterioration may be due to frying in these pans and the heat involved we have gas burners and I have no idea if it is the heat on them that has caused this but we do not heat them without food in them and if you can't use them to stir fry or fry eggs then what good are they?

These are great for a few uses & then the non stick just isn't there. High heat cooking seems to speed up the loss of the non-stick surface. They stain easily & are just a major disappointment. The instructions tell you not to use oil or butter... who cooks without oil or butter? I was thrilled for the first few uses... than sadly let down. Don't waste your money, like me. I thought after my first purchase of one pan they were great & ordered 4 more, only to realize they were not worth the money after several uses.

Well originally I loved this pan but with time(not to long) I noticed everyone was right about this pan! It stinks! As time went on the eggs stuck more and more, etc. So glad I didn't buy the set! My advice is to anyone who still wants to try it-make sure you use a small pan for a WHILE(MANY MONTHS)cook a variety of things in it and make sure to only use medium to low setting always..

There are some new green pans at bed bath I think they sell them here also, supposed to be good.

Save your money folks! This is piece of junk. I bought this only after consumer reports' smart shop recommended this product as the best overall. What a joke! They certainly need to do that research again.Like everyone else I was thrilled to use this the first three times or so but after that the food seemed to get stuck more and more to a point even a heavy coat of oil didn't help from food sticking. I couldn't fry eggs even with 1/4" oil without sticking. I mean come on that's not what I call non stick by any means. I bought 10 and 12 inch pans and I am regretting it heavily. What a total disappointment and waste of money!

These pans were great when I first bought them. However, now that I've had them for less than a year, everything sticks to them. The only thing reliable about them is that every time I clean them, more of the finish disappears.Do not buy these pans.I sadly got an entire set last year for Christmas and now I will need to reinvest this year.A wasteof a couple of hundred dollars.

Scanpan Classic Ceramic Titanium 10-1/2-Inch Square Fry Pan

Scanpan Classic Ceramic Titanium 10-1/2-Inch Square Fry PanI purchased this pan to try out the glass ceramic titanium surface. It is a superior surface. We used the pan for 3 months. The problem arose the last time my wife used the pan.She was cooking in the kitchen and I began to smell melting plastic in the other end of the house. The smell lasted for days. There is no external damage to the handle. It must be occuring under the metal band that attaches the handle to the pan.I am afraid to use the pan again.

This is a fantastic pan. There is no hot spots, food browns evenly and beautifully. I find that it heats up faster than my other pans and I use lower heat than I need with other pans. I have bought many other non-stick cookware from Scanpan and I love them all. The food I cook on Scanpan always turns out better than when I use my other pans.
