Norpro Cast Iron Bacon Grill Press

Norpro Cast Iron Bacon Grill PressEverytime we would cook a big weekend breakfast, I would remember the grill presses from when I was a kid and mutter to myself that I needed one.Saw it here at Amazon and decided to give it a try.

Pros It works just like I remembered. It holds the bacon down and keeps it flat while cooking. This produces a very consistently cooked piece of meat, which is what I was looking for.We prefer our bacon crispy, but not overcooked, and this does a fine job.If you like crisp bacon then this press is what you are looking for.

Cons It is iron, you have to remember to season it.That's not necessarily a con if you are familiar with cooking with iron cookware, but my darling wife is not and she put it in the dishwasher repeatedly. Now the darn thing has rust on it that is proving difficult to deal with. That is where the cute little design of a pig on its face comes into being a con. It's difficult to clean around all of its ridges. The design does not prove a difficulty in cleaning normal food particles off, just in my case with the rust.

The addition of some kind of drip pan would be nice as well, but I live without it well enough. When I am done cooking I just lift it off the pan for a moment and let most of the grease run off. Then, a couple of paper towels folding up as a blotter do well to keep the mess down while we eat and the press waits for a hand cleaning.

Someone didn't think things through on this. There's a "Bacon Press" design on the bottom surface that has all sorts of irregular nooks and crannies, it's a pain in the behind to clean. The round bacon press by Norpro is much better (though a bit big for some situations) because the bottom surface is just ridged to give that striped "grilled look".

I don't know why that design is not on the top surface instead of on the bottom.Just plain dumb.

Buy Norpro Cast Iron Bacon Grill Press Now

What could be more "home spun" kitchen fun than the use of a simple, light, wooden handled bacon press. The side view of a pig cast into the press only adds to the down home appeal.Leave your heavy "grilled cheese" press on the sideline here, as this is the one to use for consistent flat, crisp, and enjoyable bacon!

It is only 6 1/2" in length.I thought it would be longer since bacon is cut approx. 10" so you have to keep moving it around. The weight is good.

Had I read this more carefully, I would have not purchased.About 1/2 the size of a normal strip of bacon.Product works great for preventing curling, however.Would have preferred now to get the other bacon press that is the full size of a strip of bacon (or closer to) for better coverage.

Lodge Logic 3-Quart Covered Chicken Fryer

Lodge Logic L8CF3 Covered Chicken Fryer, Black, 3-QuartI own three pieces of cast iron cookware, and this item is one of them... and among my favorite cooking implements, period. For dishes requiring steady, even heat and for cooks who require durable cookware with easy clean-up, cast iron CANNOT be beat!

This fryer is going to last forever. Its care is easy: I scrub it with hot water only, and dry it with an old rag and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the iron is still hot... a year and a half later, it's still rust-free and delivering the reliable service I have come to expect and admire. No scratches interfere with its performance, as is the case with my allegedly-long-lasting Wearever nonstick cookware set (what a waste of money THAT was!). In fact, in this particular chicken fryer, I've produced everything from french fries to spaghetti sauce to eggs and bacon to french toast! It's a dependable griddle, skillet, grill, and pot, and it goes right from the stovetop and into the oven for maximum versatility.

The best thing about the chicken fryer is its somewhat smaller circumference than the skillet or the Dutch oven.It takes up a bit less stovetop space and provides greater depth, making it ideal for small batches of soups, stews, or deep-fried goodies.

I am an avid home-chef, and I can say without exception that my cast-iron cookware is the best kitchen investment I've ever made.

I bought this one because I was looking for something to fry various things in without the pot warping (as stainless steel pots do). Since I got this pot, I have been using it to cook all sorts of dishes--soup, stew, reheating rice etc. It's big enough to hold enough fried rice, for example, for 4, and I can pop theentire pot, lid and all, into the oven to keep warm. But it's not so big as to be too heavy to handle.

The best part about this pot is how nicely the lid fits. I was surprised how tight the lid seals the pot. The steam starts to escape only when the liquid in the pot is boiling really hard. The interior of the lid is unusual looking. It is not flat nor smooth. It has a dozen small protruding tips shaped like candy cones. When steam condenses on the inside of the lid, the resulting liquid falls along those tips back into the pot, instead of dripping off the edge of the lid. Ingeneous, I thought.

I find this a very versatile and useful pot. Extremely well made--almost polished for a cast iron pot. It comes seasoned.

Well, no complaints exactly -it's what I ordered and wanted -but be aware of the exact dimensions of the pan. Though measured across the top the diameter of the pan is accurately 10 1/4 in., the sides slope in making the cooking surface a measly 8 in. -kinda small of you're thinking of frying in larger batches.

I was also hoping to double this deep fryer as a frying pan (I saw the higher sides as a bonus, lessening grease splatter), but again the small 8 in. cooking surface limits what I can make ie. too small for bacon. Apparently, Lodge makes a larger fryer -a 5qt 12" sucker -that might be a better choice for a family, but alas, not available (currently) on Amazon.

Otherwise, a great pan, substantial and well made. The lid is a great bonus to have.

I flat out love this fryer.I purchased it to replace one of those fancy electric deep fryers. By doing so, I've saved counter space, because this fryer sits on your stove and can be stored permanently on the back of your stove full of grease with the cover on it. It will heat grease fast, and because its cast iron there is an exceptional taste difference in everything you fry. Also, you can use it as a regular pot. If you are assembling just the basics or a dream kitchen, a cast iron Skillet, Grill, and Fryer are a must have. There is no replacement item, or substitute for certain things you cook.

I bought this inexpensive pot along with a piece of calphalon.I must say, I like the cast iron better! What a great pot, the size is perfect for those quick prepackaged items us working moms make like rice-a-roni, hamburger helper and scalloped potatoes.Yes its heavy, but it's easy to clean and I just leave it sitting my stove. It takes a little to get used to the proper cooking temperatures, so be careful. Also, I would advise getting the tiny handle cover, because the handle does get very hot.I make my daughter home-made chicken tenders at least once a week, and they came out the best ever using this pot.Prior to this I had been using calphalon and it doesn't make the chicken near as crisp and perfect.Love it!

Classic 6-Piece Enamel Cast Iron Lemon Yellow Cookware Set, Super Sale! The enamel on these pots bubbled up and cracked after one use. Pretty to look at and yellow is my favorite color so they are a must have. But I am afraid to use these pots much they are for decoration mainly. Yellow pots are hard to find I am very disappointed and will try to find case iron coated pots in yellow somewhere else. I guess quality could have been better.

Nordic Ware Italian Frittata and Omelette Pan

Nordic Ware Italian Frittata and Omelette PanI love this pan! I spray a little oil on both sides before I use, and it doesn'tstick. Would have given 5 stars if the pan handles were rubberized so you don't have to use bulky hot pads. Handles do get quite hot. Definitely do recommend.

I have made frittatas in the oven and was not highly impressed. I then saw this frittata pan on amazon and purchased it. I made a frittata and oh my goodness what a difference. The frittata raised really well, was not dry around the edges, and best of all it did not fall. Beautiful and delicious.

Bought this heavy-duty omelette pan on AMZN: it's terrific!Used medium heat (electric glass top stove) and light spray of canola oil to produce a wonderfully puffy omelette. No sticking, no burning! This made-in-USA pan is so much better than the cheaper light-weight Chinese import that I previously bought (also from AMZN).

We ordered two of these pans and upon delivery one of the pans had come apart. In preparing to use the other it too came apart. It appears the manufacturing process does not properly connect the two sections. It's possible one came apart due to shipping but the other appeared okay until we handled it.

They look like great pans but it can present a safety hazard if it were to separate during usage.

This is one of the products I bought not because I needed them but because I thought I could use them. Often this behavior turns out to be a waste of money not this time!

Making omelette is now so much easier. You just fill beaten eggs in both of the compartments (2-5 eggs total) and put some stuffing on top of one side (make it on the bottom side!). Then you quickly close the lid as soon as the egg starts getting white on the surface and after a few minutes you have a nice omelette.

The quality is great nothing loose, the mechanism closes very tight and the handles are crafted very smooth. Cleaning is easy too because it is well coated. Just take care to not use any metal in it. I find myself not using any tools for the whole process because you can just flip the product out on a plate once it's cooked.

The only issue (and other reviewers mentioned it too) why I gave just 4 stars is that the handle (especially the small one) gets super hot. I'm not very sensitive but I cannot touch (open/close) it after a few minutes. I always need gloves/a towel to operate it.

Nordic Ware Pancake Pans

Nordic Ware Bug Pancake PanI was a bit hesitant to buy after reading a couple of the reviews but was willing to take a chance. I really don't see why there was any negative comments about it. As long as you spray your pan first, there is no issue with sticking. You will have issues if you try to turn them before they are cooked on one side but that's true regardless of your pan.I even used a waffle recipe on this rather than a pancake recipe and it was just fine.

I can't wait to surprise my granddaughters at breakfast time! It takes so little to make them happy yet the memories last for years. I only get to see them once a year since they live far away, but throughout the year they talk about the special breakfasts Oma fixes for them. I always have something unique at breakfasts & they've come to expect it as tradition. In time, I'd like to get some of the other pans just for the variety...And the thing is my husband & I are kids at heart so we'll use them even when the little ones aren't here.

We've had a great time making pancakes and eggs in this pan.The kids love them.Keep in mind, these are small pancakes, so it takes a while to cook up a meal.I'm thinking of buying another pan (with different animals) so I can get two sets going at a time.We use some spray on olive oil and have had no problem with sticking or with clean up.Took a couple of tries to get the temperature right, but once we found it, the fun was on.

This broke our glass stovetop the first time we used it. We had to buy a new stove because of that. There is no warning on the label. We read online that the cast iron coils under each animal face cause a seal with the stove top and traps the heat. The heat builds up and breaks the stovetop.

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable Handle

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable HandleI have only used this over a stove, not a fire, but it heats up really well.I heat it for 3-4 minutes first, then slap on the meat and it gets a really nice sizzle and broiler marks.the pan is clever too because it has grease spill indents on both sides to pour off grease.Only negative is the same that all these fold up pans have ... they fold up too easily. There needs to be a locking mechanism so they don't fold up when you are trying to cook with them. Therefore you cannot flip with this pan because the handle will not lock in place.but that is minor. It's also very light which is what I need since I'll be backpacking.

Bayou Classic 7417 12-Quart Cast-Iron Oval Roaster with Domed Lid

Bayou Classic 7417 12-Quart Cast-Iron Oval Roaster with Domed LidThis pan (After a lot of cleaning and seasoning) made the best Thanksgiving Turkey ever...It was moist and perfect and a few guests told me it was the best they had ever had.I had never used Bayou as I love Lodge but they did not offer a roaster in this size (needed something for a 18lb turkey that JUST fit.)The quality of the cast iron was OK and needed more seasoning than a lodge that are pre seasoned but it did a GREAT JOB...I have cooked 2 small chickens in it and they were great as well...

After reading the other reviews I was a bit skeptical, but the problems seemed associated only with the inadequate packaging for shipping. With Amazon's free shipping, I thought I would just have them send me a replacement if necessary.

The unit arrived without shipping damage. But it contained a large crack which was due to the original casting operation. Also the cover didn't fit.I decided to try ordering the Camp Chef to see if that was any better.

On the packing slip, it states that the S&H was over $26.Amazon must be losing money on just shipping this unit, let alone having to pay for the return shipment via USPS!I can't believe that Amazon doesn't either pull the product or make Bayou Classic fix their horrendous QC problems.

I purchased this roaster from another retailer because I had a coupon but wanted to rate it here since I depend on Amazon reviews when it comes to making purchases.

The first thing I did was take sandpaper to it & scrub it with hot soapy water to remove what was on it. After several times of seasoning I decided to try it out before Thanksgiving.I fried a chicken using two burners on my stove top and it turned out great, no sticking. I fried in it a couple more times to help with extra seasoning then it was time to do the turkey.

Thanksgiving, I roasted a 24# turkey. The turkey fit nicely in the pan and came out very moist and flavorful. I wasn't able to use the lid with a turkey this large so I used heavy duty foil instead. I'm sure with a little smaller turkey the lid will work fine.

The casting's not the best, but then again it's not Lodge. The lid doesn't fit perfectly, but it does fit and has a lip so it won't slid off and as with any cast iron, it's very, very heavy. Overall I'm extremely happy with this roaster and glad I made the purchase.

Staub Cast-Iron Wok with Glass Lid

Staub Cast-Iron 7-Quart Wok with Glass Lid, BlackI bought this wok after comparing 3 different wok. I choose this because of the weight and the size of the wok. I just like the design and the look of it, looks much more like my mum's beat up wok except nicer.

lodge pro logica bit heavier and deep. may be just meant to be on the stove top all the time. the other french made a bit on shallow side, if just for stir fry vegetable for 2 may be ok. with staub, i've done fried rice for 4, 1 medium size steam fish, use with 10" bamboo steamer for shumai, just name it. I love mine. Plus the matte black one goes well with my other cast iron collection.

Got this Staub wok a week ago and it cooks my food very well. The food also retains heat nicely for a good 20 mins with the fire off and when the cover is on.The food still "sticks" to the wok but I'm sure as time goes by, it will develop its non-stick nature.

This works great on cook tops that are challenges for a conventional wok. And... the inside is round on the bottom, not flat so traditional cooking is possible. The cast iron is thin enough that it responds fairly quickly to changes in heat; however, not as fast as a traditional wok.

An answer to my requirement for healthy cooking. I like the depth and size, just nice for fried rice for 3, steamed fish and stir fry vegetables. Cleaning is an ease, no need to worry about seasoning or rust. However, it takes longer time to heat up the cooking oil but I just love cooking in it. Great display on my oven top too.

Nordic Ware 12 Inch Wok with Helper Handle

Nordic Ware 12 Inch Wok with Helper Handlethis thing is huge! because it has a slightly flatter bottom than most woks, it can hold more! which comes in handy when my boyfriend is making his fried rice for me and all of my family!

although i received the first one with a deep scratch in the non-stick, Amazon quickly and easily replaced it.. the second one had tiny scratches around the top edge of the wok, but nothing that would deter cooking in it so i kept it. makes me wonder if that's why they had these "on sale" but still, it's a great wok.

There must be a reason why I bought the exact same Wok after my original one was accidentally scratched up with a knife...

I do everything in it: boil pasta, mix cookie dough (it doesn't stick--so although there isn't any delicious cookie dough, cleaning up is a breeze), stir-fry vegetables...The flat part on the bottom is good for electric stovetops; the curves are curvy enough to make stirring simple.Plus, I respect the Nordic Ware company--not made overseas!

This wok is about as good as it gets for the price. Well-made and solid feel makes this a versatile favorite for cooking many family meals. Quality Deep wok/pan is a good size for family or someone that entertains. It is big (7-quart capacity), but easy to cook with flat bottom making it stable on stove. Non stick coating is easy to clean. Had this for almost 5 years and buying another one. Need to replace since Teflon/non-stick is beginning to wear and scratch, but we use it a lot (3-4 + times a week on average) with a family of five. We lucked out and had a Calphalon pan lid match perfectly, making it even more versatile (Best Pop corn pan ever). Great Wok on its own, if you can match a lid with it, will be possibly the best pan you will ever have for a family. Made in the USA!

George Foreman SKG01GFB 12-by-15-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass Lid

George Foreman SKG01GFB 12-by-15-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass LidGeorge Foreman's name is associated with quality small appliances and this electric skillet is no exception. This medium size appliance is manufactured with a nonstick cooking surface, a diecast base, and heat resistant side handles. It looks very nice on your countertop with its black color and glass lid and it can be used to prepare many different foods.

This skillet has met and exceeded my expectations in every category. It takes only two or three minutes to reach the temperature of your choosing and the nonstick surface is so easy to clean, there is really no need to place it in a dishwasher. It is dishwasher safe if you remove the probe, but it cleans so easily, there isn't any need.

Among the many positive qualities with this electric skillet, one of the most important is its depth. Many electric skillets are shallow in design, and this severaly limits their usefulness. But this electric skillet offers plenty of depth, and that means you can use it to heat/cook foods containing liquid without any worries. The liquid won't spill, making this George Foreman Electric Skillet more versatile than most.

Another quality I like with this electric skillet is the glass lid. True, there is the added risk of breakage, but as long as you handle with care, this should not be an issue. The good thing about glass is that you can see the food as it cooks and glass makes for a more attractive appearance. With most stovetop skillets, the lids are solid metal and that means you can't see the food as it cooks. And don't worry that the lid will blow offthere is a small, round opening in the top for ventilation purposes.

George Foreman will always be known for his skill as a professional boxer, but he is eually skilled when it comes to sales of small appliances and this electric skillet is one of his best. It can be used to fry several foods at once or to keep food warm, with high walls to hold foods in place. Cleanup is a breeze and the appliance looks very attractive on most any kitchen counter. Could there be anything bad to say about this appliance? Not that I can see, and this makes it one of the best small appliances I have purchased in a long time.

Many other non-stick skillets reviewed here seem to have problems of one kind or another. When I bought this one, there were no reviews but I have two other George Foreman products one is an outdoor grill and the other is an indoor classic double-sided Foreman grill that really works well so I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did! It works very well. The temperature control seems accurate, it really does take just a minute to clean up, whatever you are cooking doesn't stick and the see-through glass cover is very handy for watching items cook that require the lid to be on. It is generously sized and relatively light weight.

Finally, it was about half the price of some others I considered. What's not to like?

Buy George Foreman SKG01GFB 12-by-15-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass Lid Now

I gave this skillet 3 stars because it's just OK.It heats up quickly and gets very hot (almost too hot). When the thermostat shuts off the heat, whatever you are cooking stops cooking and then continues when the heat comes back on.Simmering is almost non-existent.

The non-stick surface is good (no problems).Clean up is fairly easy considering this skillet is non-submersible in water.

If I had known these things, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

I received this skillet for Christmas. this is my first electric skillet though I have used my moms in the past.

I really like this skillet. It is a large size which allows me to cook larger meals with out having to use the oven. I use it a loot for browning meat, making breakfast (pancakes cooking bacon/sausage, eggs, But my favorite use is for pasta meals I start by preparing the sauce in the skillet, i brown the meat in a separate pan add it and once the noodles are done drain them and add as well. The skillet is large enough to mix it all around (adding pasta to the sauce is a great way to prevent clumping vs keeping separate)with out creating a mess and helps keep it warm for seconds!

There are many things I really like about this frying pan; the size, the non-stick surface, but I have to agree with some other reviews about the inconsistent heating. I've used electric frying pans for 40 years and have never had this problem. There is no way to simmer foods. Either the heat is on or it's off. This makes it hard to leave the house while preparing something like sauce or chili, which need to slowly simmer for several hours. This would be a great product if this aspect could be improved.

Progressive International Stainless Steel Roasting Pan

Progressive International Stainless Steel Roasting PanThis is the deepest lasagna pan I have been able to find, and that is why I bought it.I have owned it several years, but I don't bake or roast often. It has worked adequately.I have gotten my money's worth.

Because it is stainless steel, it feels lightweight. It is not made of thick metal, and therefore feels just a little cheap. Gourmet cooks might sneer at it.

Being stainless steel, it shows no signs of rust, even at the handles, after soaking in the kitchen sink. The exterior still looks nice. The interior does not have any kind of non-stick coating.

The spatula/turner/flipper utensil, which comes with the pan, has been very useful. It is thin enough to slide under food to be turned over in a skillet. It is a little flexible. We use the spatula very frequently. It is thin enough to slide under fresh-baked soft cookies, to remove them from a pan, without making a mess of the cookies. The end of the spatula is also useful for cutting lasagna, etc., into serving pieces. Not sharp like a knife, but adequate for on medium-soft foods; of course it should not be used on Teflon or other nonstick pans.

The rack can be put inside the pan, and fits nicely, for use when roasting meat. The rack is not high, so it would not be adequate for roasting something extremely high in fat, such as a goose or duck, that would result in a deep layer of melted fat in the bottom of the pan. [A goose would probably not fit in this pan anyway.]

The rack can also be used as a cooling rack for baked goods, although not intended as such. The wires are not spaced as close together as the ideal cooling rack; thus small cookies may fall through.

P.S.The handles are only easy to rotate when not wearing potholders. In other words, we try to remember to unfold the handles outward, before the pan gets put into a hot oven.

[Update-Postscript from February 2012]It's now 5 years since the review, and 12-plus years since buying the pan.Apparently the pan is more rugged than we would have guessed from the lightweight first impression.

At the time we originally got this pan, there were very few choices when looking for a truly deep-dish lasagna pan.Now it seems there are many more choices. There are better pans available, but most are higher priced.

If you are looking for a pan that can also be used on the stovetop, this is probably not a good choice. Please click on the "Comments" button just below this review, to see discussion about gravy and stovetop use.

I sometimes see pans that look identical, as far as I can see, but carrying different brand names. I don't know whether they really are the same. For example, here is a link to another pan that looks similar, but has a plastic lid for use when storing leftovers: ExcelSteel 4-Piece Stainless Roaster with Cover, Rack and Spatula

We are thinking of getting better oven mitts to make it easier to grab pans from oven; these improved versions of "Ove Glove" look promising: Ove Glove The Anti Steam Ove Glove Right Hand, Yellowith Whiteredand Ove Glove The Anti Steam Ove Glove Left Hand, Yellowith Whitered.Note that the left-hand glove and the right-hand glove are sold separately, at additional cost. The gloves would be way more expensive than this pan was, but of course the gloves would be used with other pans too.

I bought this pan to make more than two layers of lasagna no other dish/pan was deep enough to accomplish this.I was able to get four layers in this!Be prepared for A LOT of lasagna, however.I used two boxes of pasta, 6 jars of sauce, over 3 pounds of meat, and 16 cups of cheese. All of this did not quite reach the top of the pan, so there was no bubbling over (another added bonus).Clean-up was great; it soaked in soapy water for about an hour, then wiped clean. No scrubbing needed, even for broiled-on cheese.

Buy Progressive International Stainless Steel Roasting Pan Now

Pan is very deep and perfect for lasagna, macaroni and cheese, or any other baked item.Clean up is a snap.Pan is lightweight and holds quite a bit.Didn't fit my turkey :( (but I got a very large bird).Look forward to roasting some meat in it with rack in place.Only difficulty is that it is hard to get the handles flipped up with potholders on! Also, included spatula is good but flexible, so it may bend depending on your use.Overall, a great product for the price!

I ordered this pan for Thanksgiving last year. It looks great, the accessories are of nice quality, and it actually managed to fit the 20-lb turkey that I was roasting... but when I went to pick up the pan to put it into the oven, I heard a loud CLANG and suddenly the right handle was in my hand, but wasn't attached to anything. I managed to catch the pan before the turkey went spilling out onto the floor, and was still able to roast the turkey without further incident, but I am disappointed that it didn't even make it through its first use without breaking. If you plan on using this for anything heavier than a few pounds, I would recommend looking for something a bit more heavy-duty.

I cook and smoke a lot of meat.I am a competitive BBQ cook.I have searched for a set of quality stainless steel pans that are deep enough to holdbriskets and roasts along with their juices.

These pans are outstanding for holding my meats in the oven, for roasting, and for transporting foods. They clean up easily in the dishwasher and do not discolor or scratch easily like some of the more expensive pans. The stainless steel spatula that comes with each pan is the best item in my double indoor/outdoor kitchen.

These pans are so first class you are proud to serve in them and you are even happier that they were such a great value.Did I mention, they hold more than most roasting pans because they are DEEP, but they will fit in most any refrigerator, oven, or freezer. They are one of the best items in my kitchen and are used weekly for something.

Calphalon 12-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Stir Fry Pan

Calphalon 12-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Stir Fry PanI purchased this wok because Calphalon is a decent brand. It turned out that the non stick property is fair. It's non-stick to vegetables but not to meat. However there is no chemical layer that can easily fall off with this product. So this is trade off. I searched all the woks, and asked friends around. It seems that there is no perfect wok. I returned it because it does not meet my expectation atthis price, and they charged me $15 for returning. But later I found that the other woks have problems in other aspects as well. The size of the wok is good, it's very heavy. Just don't have very high expectation on it, you can use it.

Lamson and Goodnow 07304 6x1.5" Black HotHandle Handle Holder

Lamson and Goodnow 07304 6x1.5' Black HotHandle Handle HolderI got this holder at the same time that I got some Lodge Mitts, to use for my iron skillets.I heard some complaints from other reviews about silicone products cracking over time, but I have had no issues as of yet, nearing about a year now.

PROS:

1)easy to clean just rinse.

2)doesn't matter if it gets wet with cloth based mitts, if it gets wet, it's not going to protect you from the heat. The silicone is impervious to the liquid, so you're safe.

3)Ridges inside of holder there are these vertical ridges inside the holder that help to create more space between the handle and the holder.Since all holders tend to heat up somewhat when left on the handle while cooking, this feature helps alleviate the heating up.

4)has a little hole, you can hang it up!

CONS:

1)The same ridges mentioned in #3 above, makes it kind of slip around when you're trying to get a firm grip on the handle. It is silicone after all, so it's flexible.

2)I use these holders specifically for Lodge iron skillets, and this holder is a little too long for their handles So it kind of dangles. Also, it's a little too big for the Lodge handles as well You have to be aware to make sure you get a nice, firm grip and compress down on to the handle every time you pick it up.

If they were a little smaller, and therefore more form-fitting for Lodge cast-iron skillets, I'd be super happy. But I haven't found any other handle holders made out of silicone as of yet...

Oh, remember, this product ships from Target so no Super savings.

This type of pan holder is just what I've been searching for, but unfortunately it doesn't work. As someone else pointed out, it slips round and won't grip. This is really dangerous when trying to strain off boiling liquid from a pan. I nearly lost the contents on me and the floor. My pans have normal, average size handles.

I will buy this item again if the company can work out how to make a tighter fit. I wrote to them and got nice reply stating this is how they're made and if I don't like them I should return them to the store for a refund. If enough people write they might do something about it.

This holder does a very good job preventing heat transfer from the pan handle to the cook's hand.It maintains protection even when wet.As others have mentioned, there can be some movement on the pan handle but, with a little experimentation on my flat-handled pans, I found a way to hold it so the grip remains stable. It has saved me from burns from accidental contact with the handle (or just plain forgetting not to touch the handle) after transferring the pan from oven to stove top.Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

This silicone handle holder is so much more convenient than a pot holder or mitt.It can be used on multiple size handles and it has nubs to prevent your hand from slipping. It has become one of my most used kitchen gadgets. What took them so long to invent it?!

Paderno World Cuisine 7-1/8-Inch Stainless Steel Ceramic Coated Frying Pan

Paderno World Cuisine 7-1/8-Inch Stainless Steel Ceramic Coated Frying PanI purchased this to use on an induction cooktop because it's description says stainless steel and many reviewers of induction cooktops state that stainless steel works on them. My induction cooktop did not recognize this pan and a magnet would not stick to the bottom. I googled stainless steel and found that only the 400 series (steel with only chromium added)is ferro-magnetic and would thus work on induction cooktops. If too much nickel is added to the stainless steel (300 series) then it will no longer attract a magnet and will not work on induction cooktops. Unfortunately none of the cookware manufacturers seem to state what type of stainless steel they use.If you need a pot or pan for an induction cooktop then shop locally testing the bottom of each with a magnet or mail-order only if it specifically states that it works with induction cooktops.
