Frieling Catering Frypan

Sitram Catering Frypan with Helper Handle, 13.5-Inch diameterThe Sitram Catering line is among the world's finest. The pots are virtually indestructible (anything can break during shipping and it means zero about the brand) they are super easy to clean and they retain heat better than anything out there, even Le Creuset. The line comes in very small to very large sizes, something you will not see with other brands such as All-Clad.You have a very smart lid system which will allow you to have many pieces that share the same lid if you want.

I could not give a product a higher recommendation.Sitram is the bomb.

As a part-time chef I own and use lots of so called "professional" cookware.

The nice thing about Sitram specifically is the fact that most of their better lines do not have rivets.

Not having rivets through the cooking surface qualifies this cookware to be NSF certified. Old, dirty food

particles get caught up in the crevice around the rivet. This crud is unclean, and very difficult to really ever get out of the pan.

So next time you eat out hopefully your restaurants kitchen is using rivetless cookware! Sitram is the worlds largest commercial stainless cookware company for a reason. All stainless cookware has coloring after being used, especially on a gas stove. This is very normal. The main difference in the Profisserie line and more upgraded line is that the the base model has a stainless subbase under the stainless surface versus a copper base. As I stated at the beginning I own lots of cookware including quite a bit of AllClad, some very old US made Calphalon, and even a few French made Cuisinart pieces. Of all of these, I personally prefer to use my Sitram when possible.

I ordered this pan from amazon, and received the 13.5 inch Sitram Profiserie pan, which is a cheaper option without the copper bottom.I complained and they shipped a replacement, and AGAIN I received the Profiserie pan.Beware, Amazon has this item mislabeled, so I would not order it from Amazon.

The 13.5-inch diameter pan is just what I wanted, and I gave it all five stars.

However, I found that it does not fit into my home kitchen oven.It nearly fits, but not quite. The door almost closes, with about 1.5 inch more to move.If you would need to put the pan into your oven (for finishing or holding the food), here's what I know about the size.

My oven is a Kitchenaid convection oven. The convection fan's shroud intrudes a bit into the oven. The rectangular clear space available seems to be about 16 x 22 inches, though I have to estimate the 16 inch dimension because I can't measure easily where the door is when it's closed!

The pan's outside diameter is 14.25 inches. There are two handles, and the distance from one end of the loop handle to the tip of the long handle is 25.5 inches.

While I'm measuring stuff... the base disk is 11-1/8 inches where it meets the pan, and tapers to 10-3/4 inches diameter. The disk is 1/4 inch thick, but I cannot see how much of that thickness is copper.I don't see any copper color; it must be clad with something else.

It's big.I bought the comercial lid too.Unfortunately, neither handle is riveted to the pan.The long handle broke completely off during shipping even though the box that it came in was still in good shape. The spot welds were inadequate (downright crummy).

Pans without rivets are a bit easier to clean, so I figured I give this pan a try instead of an All-Clad.If the spotwelds had been up to par, I would happier.

Amazon was quick to send a shipping tag for both the pan and lid.Amazon quickly refunded everything including shipping.

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 30 cm (12 inches)

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 30 cmThe first time I used this fry pan I got distracted and burned the chicken and mushrooms I was sauteing... I mean really burned after two hours of neglect... when I returned, the house was full of smoke and the food was burned beyond recognition. After it cooled, I washed the pan in warm water and soap; there wasn't a mark on it. Nothing stuck or blemished the ceramic coating. I truly thought the pan would have to go in the trash along with dinner. Thank God it wasn't Teflon, I would have had to report it to the EPA... great product at a great price.

This was a great purchase. It works great on electric or gas.Clean up is a simple wipe.I would buy this pan again.

UPDATE: Good pan so far, have owned now for just over a year and I cook a lot, i use several times per week.Has not lost any of it's no stick powers yet.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Bought because it doesn't release harmful chemicals. It's certainly non stick, I rarely have to brush it clean, just shoot water on it, clean.

If you don't scrub them with greenies (which is tantamount to 120 grit sandpaper, my paint and body guy uses greenies to prep car bodies) these kinds of pans will stay non stick a lot longer. When you clean them, ONLY use a plastic brush (if u need to use anything at all).DONT use the scrubbie.Don't wipe it with paper towels either (they will micro scratch pans, oh yes they will) unless u do it gently.

NOW WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PRODUCT IS THAT IT DOES NOT LIE ABOUT WHERE IT IS MADE.There is a certain other pan that says it is "From Germany" and it's not, it's Chinese (I finally found a review that says it it is actually made in China, the coating if from Germany what they hey???) and I simply cannot stand products that lie.

This pan is made in Korea and I've actually had pretty good success with Korean products, they seem to be well made, not just this pan.

This is a good pan for the price. Distributes heat evenly but the non-stick surface does not quite perform as well as I had hoped. Worked as advertised until I started seasoning steaks and chops in the pan. This resulted in stuck on spice residue in the pan. Removal with a paper towel and hot water micro scratched the pan surface diminishing its non stick capability. I suspect it would continue to perform at its original capacity if spices not applied until items removed from pan. I will probably buy another one and test this theory.

Swissmar KF-77043 8-Person Classic Raclette Party Grill, Red Enamel

Swissmar KF-77043 8-Person Classic Raclette Party Grill, Red EnamelThis raclette grill is authentic and functional. For the little space it takes, you can cook a delicious dinner without using other pans. The grilled food tastes like it was cooked at a barbecue grill. The grill on top has slightly higher edges to catch any sauce or liquid from spilling.Cleans very easily. The temperature knob is great.Highly recommended.

We just had our first day with this item... the family loved it! We had a big lunch (the traditional potatoes with cheeses & lunchmeats) then later, used it to make melty desserts like crepes, s'mores & mini tarte flambes (pre-cut toasted tortilla squares with sliced bananas & dark chocolate).

The recipe possibilities are endless. Mini-pizzas, sliders, baked pasta, etc., + the temp control is a good feature.

The product is light and pretty portable. Easy to clean and stow. Best feature I noticed right away; my family was having fun together! We're gonna keep this to ourselves awhile before we share with guests.I highly recommend!!!

I really like the square pans, they're much easier to use than the wedge-shaped ones.Everything is coated in non stick so it cleans up like a breeze. The temperature knob is a nice touch, just watch your fuses, whenever it kicks on my lights flicker. It's a good time for when you want to say to your guests, cook it your damn'd self.

This grill was smaller and flimsier than I had expected, and much more flimsy than the price would imply.Other than that, it seems to work very well, and we have used it several times now.I'd buy it again, as I haven't seen anything better.

We were introduced to raclette by our good friends who threw a great raclette dinner party. She was using this particular one and it was so easy to use and fun that we had to get one ourselves. All of the cooking surfaces are non-stick and easy to clean, and we love the fact that you can adjust the heat on the grill--we usually keep it high early on and then turn it down later.

I was worried that we would use it a couple of times and then it would get put in the closet like so many other kitchen appliances, but we actually use it often. It's great not just for entertaining, but also if we want to make a quick meal at home more special.

T-fal Simply Delicioso Hard Enamel Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Paella Pan Cookware, 14-Inch

T-fal Simply Delicioso C1076564 Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Hard Enamel 14-Inch Paella Pan Cookware, RedI first Got the Tamale Steamer then the "Simply delicioso" Cook Book and now this Paella Pan. These are the Pots and Pans that nothing sticks to them, Really, and they Wipe off Clean, exactly as they claim. I got so many Pots and Pans in all colors even "Green"...well, they are all in my Garage now, I have redecorated my Kitchen with Ingrid Hoffmann's Cookware (I'm so glad I found you!) A Pan you don't have to Seasoned like most Traditional Paella Pans and it has the Thermo-Spot Design in the Center that changes to Solid Red when Optimal Temperature is reached

This Pan is well made, I have an Electric Glass Top Range and it works Great and also for Gas Burner Stovetops and any kind of Stove. Besides making Paella I like to make my favorite "Fideua" which is similar to Paella but instead of rice you cook with "Fideos" very thin Pasta like Noodles and I make it with Shrimp the Traditional way is using Clams and Mussels. There are so many more things you can make in this Great Big Pan, like, Pancakes, Bacon, Eggs, Ham Steak, Burgers...the List is Long! It is so easy to clean, I wash it by hand. All these Non-Stick Pieces are the Best and not that expensive...I Love Them!Check Pictures Posted of making "Fideua" Thank You

Most of my pots and pans are All-clad, which I love. However my All-clad non-stick pan is on its last legs but it is hard to throw out a pan that cost over $100. So when America's Test Kitchen recommended the T-Fal Professional Total Nonstick 12-1/2-Inch Saute Pan, I ran out and got one. It worked great. So when I saw this Paella Pan with the same non-stick surface and red heat button, I picked it up. So far it works the same as the one recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I love the size for those big family meals. The question with all non-stick pans is: how long will it last? But so far, so good.

Cuisinart GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick Skillets

Cuisinart GG22-30 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Open SkilletI am an avid home chef and a fervent hater of nonstick cookware. I went through so many sets of nonstick in my early married years, everything from the $30 "whole kitchen in a box" set I got as wedding gift to a "top of the line" set that my mother-in-law gave me years later. I babied the stuff, but it still wound up scratched and peeling and in the trash. And, I never liked the cooking performance of any of it. So, many years ago I threw it all out and bought an 18/10 stainless setwhich I love and praise to anyone who will listen, and have never had to replace a single piece of. BUT, even I will admit that it's tough to get a decent fried egg from a stainless pan, so I kept an 8" nonstick skillet around just for that purpose. It was needing to be replaced so I decided to go with hard anodized. Hesitantly, I was going to get another brand with the teflon type finish. Then I saw this, and liked the idea of the the ceramic type finish. I can't tell you how much I love this pan. It fries beautifully. Sears salmon and steaks. Cleans with a wipe and a rinse. I have had this for a couple of months, used it MANY times, and am getting ready to buy the 12" for bigger jobs. Even my 8 year old can make beautiful(no tears)fried eggs with it. Oh, and did you know that you can thaw meats faster in it. Hard anodized is an amazing conducter of heat, so it pulls the cold out of the food. Just set it on the counter (covered) and wait about 20 minute (depends on thickness of the meat) turn it over once and voila you have thawed meat.

Please note that when you read all the positive reviews that they are from brand new pans. This review is after using the pan for just less than 2 months. I was so excited to buy this pan! After reading so much about non stick pans and how unhealthful they are I was really psyched to come across this one and purchased the 12" after frustrating results with the upkeep and care necessary to keep an iron skillet relatively stick free. This pan was great and I almost bought a whole bunch of them after about a week. Eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, sauces, etc. Nothing stuck. Then it slowly started to stick. I was careful with the cleaning, we use olive oil and butter to fry, but now, merely two months after purchasing it, it sticks like crazy. NOTHING doesn't stick to this pan. It's even hard to clean. I am sure that technology will come up with a 'new improved' non toxic non stick surface, but this, sadly isn't it. It's like buying a brand new model car when you should have waited for them to get the kinks out. They have to be getting mail from people like me all the time. This pan stinks.

The Good...

It's a solidly built, eco-friendly cooking pan made by a reliable company.

The Bad...

I typically use it to make pancakes or fry veggies and beans in oil. Within my first couple uses and cleanings, I noticed that the sides weren't smooth like the base. At that time I thought that maybe the pan was manufactured that way, or that it might be a defect in the surface. I did my best to clean it with a sponge and soap, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I continued to use it occasionally. It really bothered me though, since it wasn't like any other non-stick pan I've used. Inspecting it closely, I noticed what appeared to be a residue of oil. It wasn't greasy but very viscous and hardened on. I'd never burned anything onto the pan, and it had performed pretty well. I guess I'd give it a B for it's non-stick surface.

The Other Good...

Anyway today, I finally went against tradition and used a scouring pad on the surface. It took me over an hour of sanding off the residue with the dry scour pad, and blotting off the dust with a moist paper towel. It was a mild acrylic pad, but had enough scratchiness to take off the residue, which came off as an orangy powder. It resembled dried oil, and for the life of me, that's all I can determine that it was. However, I finally returned it to a virtually untouched state.

I was nervous about scraping into the pan as I did with the scouring pad, having been careful to only use wooden utensils in the past. However, even after putting some serious elbow grease into it, the scouring didn't seem to scratch the non-stick surface. I probably won't try it, but it does seem that it would be resistant to scratching from metal utensils. It at least takes a good scouring and comes out looking fresh and clean.

Summary:

Overall, I think it didn't perform quite as well as low-end T-Fal pans that I used 15 years ago, but food didn't stick to the pan too terribly either. The oil apparently stuck to the sides of the cooking surface in a bad way, however. I cleaned my pan promptly and never burned anything on it, a residue of dry hardened oil built up in just a few uses. On the other hand, I was able to scrape it off with a mild scouring pad. It was much like taking rust off a surface with a fine grit sandpaper. Trust me, you don't want to expend the time and elbow grease to do this though. Since it's a more eco-friendly, safer non-stick pan, I'm willing to deal with it. I'm going to be more aware of how hot I heat the pan, as I suspect that high temperatures and oil quickly caused the build-up of oil residue.

At first glance, these appear to be fantastic products. The angle of the sides is great to keep things contained, the handle is comfortable and always stays cool to the touch, and they look really great. We bought silicon tools to use with these skillets and made sure to never use them above MED on the stovetop. They were always left to cool before wiping down with soap, and stored safely where they wouldn't get scratched. Basically, these were supposed to be our first grown-up cooking utensils.

Unfortunately, in the two weeks that we had our 10" skillet, it developed patches of bare surface, which grew with every use. I called up Cuisinart and asked if there was anything I could do to refinish the surface or help keep it from spreading, and was told to just mail it in for a repair. I mailed it in, at my own expense, and got a letter a week later stating that it was "not a manufactured defect", and that I could buy a new one from them for more than it cost new from here. Of course I have no recourse but to let people know that these are apparently very sensitive skillets, so take that into consideration when buying.

We have an 8" and a square pan model bought at the same time which do not have this problem, so we do not believe it to be our fault. It's just disheartening to be so careful with a piece of cookware, only to have it fail on you, and then spend ten bucks shipping to basically throw it out.

4 months ago I bought the 12 inch skillet for $70 and followed all the manufacturer's instructions such as hand washing etc. It worked very well initially and I was thrilled but now it has begun to stick very badly after only 4 months of use. I have not tried calling Cuisinart yet but I certainly did not expect problems so early. Hopefully Cuisinart will make the next gen better and longer lasting. Will update this review after talking to Cuisinart.

Oct 2009 update: I did return my old skillet to Cuisinart (spent an additional $18) and got a new replacement skillet a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at that. The coating on the new one seems much thicker/better than the previous one I had. I wont say it is perfect, it sticks sometimes but I have peace of mind when I cook in it. In a few months, I'm sure it will lose its non-stick characteristic. In the meanwhile, I also tried the Green Pan (from Target for $30) and Cuisinart's non stick seems much better. After this experience, I feel this is new technology that needs to mature some more and we need to give it the chance to survive. But I will never go back to the traditional PTFE based non-stick skillets. I would like to revise my rating to 3 stars since my Jan 2009 review.

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep FryerI've had one of these little fryer appliances since they first became popular in the seventies. The current model is the second one I've had, being larger than the original model that came out.

For someone not needing to fry enormous amounts at one time, this little machine is ideal. It requires only a very small amount of vegetable oil.I've used it to fry chicken wings, quickly, to do french fries and onion rings, to do other smaller chicken parts, and it works beautifully. There is no thermostat; you just plug it in, wait 10 minutes, and the temp is 375.Having such a small amount of grease, it recovers heat more quickly than an electric skillet.

When you are through, if you plan to reuse the grease you can simply let the machine cool, snap the plastic top on, the put the whole thing in the fridge.I don't fry that often, and when I do, I tend to fry a lot, so usually I just discard the oil.Such a small amount is used (usually no more than 3 cups starting out) that I don't feel bad about discarding the oil.

The sides on this appliance are quite high, and splatter around the machine has never been a problem.I used common sense, though, when I fry, whether it's here or on the stove.

I'm sure the all-enclosed auto-fryers that are out on the market are nice, and if I fried a lot I'd probably get one. However, I only fry once or twice a month, and for that, this little machine is perfect.I'd recommend one to anyone--durable, simple, and does exactly what it's designed for!

After spending more money on 2 faulty deep fryers (Rival is hit-or-miss for quality), I've finally settled on this little beauty.

Pros:

1.) Cheap and simple, a very compact and minimalist package overall. It is nothing more than a steel bucket with a heating element underneath.

2.) Fries at 350 degrees, 25 short of "ideal" but safe for cooking with lard and lower smoke point oil. Try lard if you never have, you can still get it in supermarkets.

3.) Milled steel bucket, cast aluminum base. Inside has a permanent synthetic non-stick surface. Clean up and changing oil is simple.

Cons:

1.) This fryer isn't for families with young children or dumb people. Hot oil is always dangerous to work around and this unit is a STEEL BUCKET FULL OF OIL. The outside is hot. The inside is hot. It's hot.

2.) Doesn't have a lid to stop the occasional spatter.

3.) The bottom and healing element are shielded, but it will still warm up your synthetic countertop. I have mine on an old wooden cutting board to avoid warping the plastic.

I fry things about 1-2 times a week, and I liked my fried things to be very crispy yet not laden with oil. I wanted something that would truly get to a hotter frying temperature, to make my frying quicker and more "healthful"...(healthy frying....is that an oxymoron or what?)Because I don't fry THAT often, I just needed something simple.

I like this fryer because the heat-up time is very quick, and there is much less splatter then if you were frying in a pot. When I fry, I usually do your typical fried foods: fries, onion rings, wontons, etc.I have not tried to do anything else in it yet.

If the oil is fairly clean after I use it, I will put it in the refridgerator, but not keep more than a week. This is a very simple fryer. If you are a more heavy-duty fryer, then you might want to look into a fancier one.The exterior is not cool-touch, and there is no basket. If you only do small batches of things, and don't really fry that much, or even if you do, then this will be a great fryer for you.

This machine is really easy to use...I fried dough to make funnel cake and donuts, and it was simple. All you have to do is put in your oil, heat it up, and add the dough. The number of things you can fry is endless. My personal favorites are the funnel cake, chicken tenders, and french fries.Depending on what you are making, cooking time can vary from mere minutes to a half hour.Experiment, create your own recipes, it's easy.

One word of advice is to make sure to clean the fryer and change the oil regularly.Nothing is worse than frying with old oil.Keep the fryer very clean!Enjoy!

Want Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Discount?

For years I've avoided making my own fried foods, as I had no luck frying in pans or my wok.My husband suggested a FryDaddy, remembering their commercials from the 1970s.We've had it for over a month and have used it several times, and it's been terrific. We've used it for shrimp and tempura thus far. It's nice to free up a burner on the stove by using this countertop item.

Browning is kind of tricky at first, because this gadget fries really quickly, faster than their instruction guide indicates.Fried shrimp for po' boys took 2 minutes at the most to get brown.Once I scooped out a couple batches of shrimp the oil level went down a bit, and the temperature increased, nearly burning next batch.I recommend adding more oil to the fill line if this happens. Also, the oil will splatter, so I use a splatter screen over the top to prevent a big mess.

It's not the easiest to clean and the cord is inconvenient. For safety reason, the FryDaddy has a short cord and recommends you not use an extension.Unless you're lucky enough to have an outlet right next to your table, this won't be a tabletop item sort of a bummer if you want to make tempura at the table!Second, this unit is a bit hard to clean. The cord has a habit of collecting batter that drips, and of course the FryDaddy cannot be immersed in water.I clean the unit by pouring hot water into it with a little dish soap to soak for a few minutes. After I pour it out, I wipe clean with paper towels and let dry.

Nordic Ware 2-Burner Nonstick Reversible Grill Griddle, 20 by 10-3/4 Inch

Nordic Ware 2-Burner Nonstick Reversible Grill Griddle, 20 by 10-3/4 InchFYI, those of you with square burners will not like this one. It is not stable because of the design, which is clearly meant for round burners.

I was looking for a large grill/griddle that was non-stick, it was almost impossible to find at a fair price.

I thought that the Nordic grill was the one for me...

It is a good grill in that it has a nice size and heats up very well, but the REAL PROBLEM is that it is NOT NON-STICK!!

I don't know what Nordic's idea of non-stick is but this ain't it!If you don't use some Pam spray on it and your grill any meat on it, I promise you IT WILL STICK to the grill! I made that mistake the first time I used it and I nearly had to sandblast the crud off of it and almost ruined the finish. Buyer beware.

I like to grill steak, chops and chicken and have used a George Foreman grill exclusively before purchasing this grill. This piece is a nice alternative to the GF...particularly since it grills one side at a time.

The Good...because it sits atop your stove burners, you can adjust the heat setting (though this takes some practice)...which is something the bargain GF grills don't do and the more expensive GF grills do with only a small range of temps.Plus, if you span it across two burners, you can have one end set to a grilling temp and the other end set to a "keep warm" temp. No grill is easy to clean, but this one's easier than a GF type.

The Bad...though it has a non-stick coating, you should still use a non-sticking spray (Pam).

The Jury's still out...I wonder how long the non-stick surface will last with it being in direct contact with the carbon heating elements of an electric burner. Also, I doubt I would have used this for a gas burner as you'd have to closely monitor the flame to ensure it doesn't "suffocate" and you're left with a build-up of natural gas.

La Paella Stainless Steel Paella Pan

La Paella 24-Inch Stainless Steel Paella PanThis stainless steel paella pan performed as expected. The paella it produced from the Bomba rice I purchased from Amazon was praised by all my guests, one of whom was a gourmet cook who liked the product so much she copied down all the details of the recipe and said the wanted a paella pan like this.

a little thin and bigger than I expected but that's my fault....so it's a little difficult on a smaller burner.

Kitchen Supply Non-stick Fry Pan 12-inchthis pan is okay.the non-stick coating scratched off in places w/in year but it heats evenly.I bit cumbersome without a small handle on other side like the T-Fal has.

Product took over a month to arrive missing christmas.I would have sent it back due to two small scratches in the teflon but my wife (gift for her) said to keep it.

Lodge Logic L5IC3 Cast Iron Lid, 8-inch

Lodge Logic L5IC3 Cast Iron Lid, 8-inchThe 8" Lodge skillet isgreat little pan as you probably know. After purchasing it I decided I wanted to add the lid and did so, but there are a couple things you might consider in such a purchase:

1)What was an economical cast iron pan ballooned into almost $30 for the combo. While cast iron devotees probably won't find this a problem, others might want to consider that a lot of excellent stainless lined aluminum 8" pans come with lids and are available forless. In the overall scheme of things thirty bucks isn't a lot of money, but it does cast the economical skillet in a different light when you complete your purchase with the lid.

2)Unlike other Lodge lids, the 8" model doesn't have the "ears" necessary to cover the dual pouring lips on the skillet. This means you can lose heat and moisture when you may not want to.This is particularly odd since they cast this lid with the "drip spikes" specifically designed for moisture retention.

3)While this is somewhat subjective, the quality doesn't appear to be the same as the 10" and 12" lids I have for other Lodge products. The casting doesn't appear as smooth and the lid doesn't fit as precisely as the larger lids. I belatedly tried another 8" lid (from an All-Clad saute pan) and found it to be a better fit than this Lodge lid.

I don't have a gripe against Lodge and, as you can tell by the many glowing reviews, people here on amazon love the product line.I just thought providing some information I discovered after my purchase might help you make a moreinformed decision.

Ordered this to use with my eight-inch Lodge cast iron pan. Same quality as Lodge pans, heavy and solid. Pretty straightforwardit does the job for which it was intended and it nests upside down in the pan nicely enough to store easily.

I do wonder why lids cost more than pans, but given none of the Lodge pans and lids are very expensive, especially compared to other cookware with much shorter lifespans, I don't have a problem with it.

Also, kudos to Amazon for continuing to mail even heavy items without shipping charges. That policy, and responsive customer service during this period of price gouging and an enraging lack of customer service across all industries, ensures I remain a loyal customer of Amazon.com. So two thumbs-up, Amazon!

The cheapies don't have the little nipple things that enable better dripping off the lid. Another quality Lodge cast product. After trying several cast brands from cheap to expensive, it's made in the USA Lodge cast iron only for me.

This is fantastic. I never knew that the cast iron line even had lids. They are a perfect fit and extremly heavy!

This lid is very helpful. If I'm making pancakes, I use my Lodge 8 inch frying pan to make bacon or sausage. Then, if the meat is done before I'm done cooking the pancakes, I just stick this 8 inch lid on top of the frying pan to keep the meat warm while I finish up the pancakes.

Stansport 10 3/4 Inch Enamel Fry Pan, Royal Blue

Stansport 10 3/4 Inch Enamel Fry Pan, Royal BlueThis is really a nice-size pan.It took me quite a long time to find a pan like this.I wanted a specific size, and I did not want stainless steel.I use this pan at least 4 times a week, and each time I do, I'm always greatful for having it.Thank you.

The pan is too thin and has terrible hotspots.Everything sticks to it which shouldn't happen with the enamal.I would not recommend it.

Woll Diamond Plus Open Saute Pan, 11-Inch

Woll Diamond Plus Open Saute Pan, 11-Inch...But if you want to cook real food like a pro, these Woll Diamond Plus pans are superb!Properly pretreated with a little oil, heated, rinsed with hot water, and wiped dry with a paper towel before attempting a cookware pitchman "magic trick", a tough and durable nonstick surface like this works fine, and cleans up like a charm. If you're worried about a few molecules of oil touching your food, just buy inexpensive T-Fal Professional pans even scorched caramel will speed skate across that stuff, for a year or two at least, if you're careful enough with it.But for a serious quality gourmet skillet without the fuss of continually "seasoning" cast iron or constant temperature babysitting and re-polishing stainless with Kleen King, these Woll pans are truly impressive.

Just received this pan to give as a Xmas gift and is ia not the pan that is pictured. We have the saute pan that is pictured and we love it so we wanted to share the great quality. The pan we received has a different handle which is not a big thing but it doesn't have the small grip on the opposite side which does affect my opinion of the pan. We like the extra grip because the pan is heavier than most and sometimes being able to use two hands is very useful. Beware if you are ordering this pan that it might be different than the picture.

Mostly wrote this to counter the reviewer who gave it 2 stars. That review is simply bogus. Yes this skillet IS VERY NONSTICK when used correctly. After you use it you'll be OK with spending so much on it, because of how well it's contructed from the handle to the sturdy feel of the pan itself it's going to be around a long time.No it is not going to be TV-like nonstick if fresh from the dishwasher or from the box without an oil slick on the surface. But it is also EXTREMELY tough, heavy (which i like in a skillet) and the little microscopic pits the diamond infused coating makes is part of the reason it's so nonstick with the oil on top.But the coating surface is also very tough, from whatever patented infusion process they have going on, it's very different from a cheap teflonish nonstick skillet who's coating IS going to wear out sooner rather than later. You can feel that this is a 3D surface that is not flimsy (this one is metal utensil approved and I think that's legit, though of course you're still better to use silicone to maximize wear).

So the take home point is that no it's not just out of the box ready to be nonstick (or out of the sink if you use soap) -it does have to be prepared correctly the other previous reviewer gives an excellent description of that.Think of it like an iron skillet that doesn't have to be continuously babied and reseasoned and it won't break, won't rust, warp, etc -If you take it straight to the sink and use water and sponge (you don't need the scrubby kind, just a soft sponge) or paper towel without soap to wipe it out after use, even burnt stuff wipes right off EASILY and it seems like the pan very rarely needs more oil unless you forget and bring on the soap. And you don't have to worry about this one warping it's so thick so take it right to the sink when you're done, run cold water (which will be hot as it cools the pan enough you can wipe it), wipe er down and back in action.Literally takes about 15 seconds to clean it like that, dry it and have it back on the stove ready to go.It beads up water with the oil on board, so just a brush from the towel and it's dry.I'm not sure it'd be possible to burn something onto the outside of it in fact except the flat bottom which is of course not coated.

The amount of "seasoning" for the 11 inch skillet is negigible in calories, so don't get the wrong idea -it amounts to about as much olive oil as you would get dipping about 3 fingertips into the oil to your first knuckle in fact, I like to rub it in like that -a few drops of oil and rub it in with your fingers until you cannot see the oil film except for a little streak behind your finger. If you just do that simple little trick and avoid soap (which removes the oil) this pan is tough as nails, cooks very evenly, and can then perform the As Seen on TV type nonstick tricks and your eggs WILL slide around easily, etc. It's my favorite nonstick pan ever, and I've been looking around forever trying to find one that will truly stand up over a long period of time without the nonstick surface eroding off, and one that doesn't have to be babied if you forget and use a fork, etc.I've abused it in the dishwasher when I'm being lazy (which is unneccesary and dumb, the pan isn't hard to clean) and it still stands up to that very well (but needs re-seasoned).

Also it's laser flat on the bottom.outside's easy to clean also same surface all the way down to the heat pad

My only wish is that they would make it in their induction friendly line it's aluminum and titanium, so no go for magnetic cooktops.Combine the quick on of induction with the heat transferring properties of the diamond coating (much faster than metal) and you'd have the ultimate in instant/consistent heat.I have one of the Precision Induction Hotplates you see on TV and it really does keep the heat constant at the selected temp, which keeps you from burning food in the first place, even oil if you're frying chicken or fish, etc can be kept below the smoke point and not turn rancid you could use it over and over if you wanted just like a restaurant fryer.Combine that with this type of nonstick coating surface and it'd be perfect.I haven't tried Woll's regular induction line, but if that coating is anywhere near as tough as this it's likely to be great too. Also fit the lids I have from other cookware perfectly.

So yeah it's pricey but in a couple years you'll be glad you bought it because you'll still have it and will probably have forgotten where you put all your other skillets and after a garage sale you wont always have a cabinet full or worn out skillets anymore -that by itself is worth it in my opinion.

Saw these pans demo'd at a home show and was very impressed with the performance but not the price they were selling at. Found this on Amazon and instantly bought it. I was very excited to try this product and get similar results and it could not have been more opposite. You are supposed to be able to cook fat free and water free in these pans which i tried and it failed miserably. Cooked eggs and the second they went into the pan they formed a film across the bottom instantly stuck. It was very disappointing but it got two stars because it did clean sort of easy and Amazon's price is very good.

Nordic Ware Professional Weight Searing Grill Pan

Nordic Ware Professional Weight Searing Grill PanI love the taste of grilled food. I just don't always have the time to warm up the grill and get it all going.

So, I bought this pan. I have purchased grill pans in the past and have been disappointed over and over again. So, I figured I would buy this one, try it and when it didn't deliver results, I would give it to the college kid next door who eats Ramen noodles and the only pan he has is a bed pan..

BUT I AM KEEPING IT!! It's great. It makes the most beautiful chicken. Keeps it juicy w/beautiful lines. It's amazing. It makes amazing grilled salmon. Great price and it delivers!

GET IT RIGHT NOW! :)

I've been using a cast iron grill pan for years until it started to rust, I got tired of wrestling with it and scrubbing it. I really like the performance of this pan. Lighter, and much easier cleanup. Only one very large problem. The handle won't stay tight where it meets the pan. Not an up/down issue but side to side. I screwed the nut down with all of my strength and it still is a bit loose. Also the sides could be a little higher to cut down splatter. If not for those two defects in manufacturing and design, I certainly give it a 5 star rating.

I purchased this pan after trying a cast iron double grill pan that did not perform to my expectations (it never distributed the heat evenly.)

This pan was inexpensive and works very well.I find it to distribute the heat fairly well over one burner, although not perfectly. It cleans very easily, and is great...especially for the price.

I ordered this item because it was made in the United States, not in China but had to return it.Not sure if it was damaged in shipping or just at the store but the handle was loose and I couldn't tighten it and there was a small scratch on the protective covering. As it turned out, it wasn't as large as I thought it would be.I was glad to see that it was made in the US

Anolon Advanced 5.5-Quart Covered Saucier

Anolon Advanced 5.5-Quart Covered SaucierI bought this pan to replace another Anolon Advanced pan we'd had for 5years.After that many years of almost daily use, the old pan was letting food stick. Our old pan wasn't curved at the bottom more flat with straight sides but I remember it cost well over $100 even back then as it's also a large 5-quart.The helper handle is very useful.$50 is dirt cheap for a pan of this quality. When this one dies I'm sure we'll get another one just like it.

We were given this as a wedding gift 3 years ago.It was an off-registry gift, but has become our favorite hands-down.I find myself using it every other day.It has become my go-to pot for most main stove-top dishes.3 years in, it has only 1 or 2 superficial scratches and the non-stick finish is still going strong. At this price, I plan to purchase a few for my sisters.

This is a large sided saucier and works very well when you have something that needs to be stirred or mixed frequently when you cook.Doesn't quite replace the stir fry pan but is a close second if you need just one pan.I use this when I do up several pounds of ground beef or sausage. The high sides protect me from my wife as I spill less from the pan into the stove. Very good price and the pans last for years.

Overall, this pan appears to be very well made and may a great pan for many people. However, it has one problem that is a show-stopper for me. I have found that the bottoms of this pan and many of these types of aluminum non-stick pans are not flat. They may look flat and will sit on a ceramic-glass cooktop without wobbling. However, if a straight edge is placed on the bottom, often a sizable gap will be noticeable in the middle of the pan. After buying a number of these types of pans, I am guessing that this problem is due to the particular manufacturing process. The ceramic-glass cooktop manufacturers usually recommend that the bottom of a pan should be perfectly flat when used on these type of cooktops. When pan whose bottom is not flat is used on these cooktops, very distinct hot and cooler spots causing irregular cooking. This could eventually damage the pan or possibly, the cooktop.

I found that pans made of CAST aluminum tend to be very flat on the bottom and cook evenly.

Cuisinart GW22-24 Greenware Aluminum Eco-Friendly Nonstick 10-Inch Skillet with Helper Handle

Cuisinart GW22-24 Greenware Aluminum Eco-Friendly Nonstick 10-Inch Skillet with Helper HandleI bought the 10" and 12" pans and was thrilled when we started using them. They worked great, cleaned easily and heated evenly. We were careful in the cleaning and care of these pans, hoping they'd last us a long time.Totally disappointed! The 10" pan started sticking to everything. It won't come clean now and no matter how much oil or Pam we use, it won't keep things from sticking. The 12" pan warped to where it won't sit flat, keeping it from heating evenly.I contacted Cuisinart about both pans and was told the 10" isn't covered under warranty. The 12" pan is covered, but they must evaluate it first. The customer service agent told me to ship the pan to them, at my own expense (it's heavy!!), including a check for $7.00 for THEIR handling.WHAT??Why am I paying them to evaluate their defective product???She said IF they decided to replace the pan I would be sent a new one.The entire process can take 4-6 weeks. So in the meantime I'm supposed to go without a pan??The 10" can't be used!I told her forget it.I'm going to find another brand of pan, hopefully one that lasts AND has good customer service if needed.Don't think we'll be buying any more Cuisinart products!

I am sorry to report, as much as I loved purchasing this set, I use my frying pan daily, but mostly for eggs, I take such great care of it and now I really need a new one, everything is sticking and its harder and harder to clean it.

So sad, less the a year and I need to buy a new one. I dont recommend this particular product.

I purchased this with the idea of replacing the 10 inch fry pan that was included with the 10 piece Cuisinart Greenware set we have and enjoy using. As it turns out the GW22-24 pan is slightly smaller than the pan it was intended to replace.9 7/8 inches inside diameter as opposed to the original 10 1/4 inches. The result is that the 10 inch cover/lid that we had does not fit on this new pan.The pan is fine other than that.We like the nonstick cooking surface and that the pan conducts the heat very well.Clean-up is easy.Just wish the original glass 10 inch cover fit.Unless my websearch is incomplete, I have not been able to locate a cover that works with the GW22-24.
