Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware SetI absolutely love Circulon "Infinite" cookware! It does everything that's promised, and goes into the dishwasher too!Believe me; this can be a very important feature if quick and easy cleanup is important you.Yet, that is not my only reason for giving this product a five star rating.I've owned many brands of cookware over the years, and for one reason or another, they have fallen short of my expectations.Yes, even my Calphalon cookware can't hold a candle to Circulon "Infinite."For instance, I've had a couple Calphalon frying pans for more than a year now.I tend not to use them because their non-stick properties are lacking--so much so that making eggs "over-easy" is almost impossible.I've tried several different things to correct this problem, but no matter what I've tried, food continues stick, which not only makes cooking more difficult, but it makes cleanup more difficult as well.Another problem that I have is that the bottoms of my Calphalon pans have a slight curve to them; as a result they don't sit firmly on my burners. On the other hand, however, each of my "Infinite" cookware pieces have a flat bottom, which allows them to sit firmly on my burners, and I never have a problem with food sticking to them.

Infinite Circulon 10-Piece SetThe set is useable on our induction type cooktop, and also goes right in into the dishwasher, which was not allowed with previous non-stick pots/pans. And it cooks fine, too.

Previous experience with Circulon II was very good. So, Circulon that could be put in the dishwasher was really desirable. However, they are really heavy and the handles get hot.

I am a third-generation Circulon user. My grandmother uses nothing but Circulon, and my mother uses nothing but Circulon. So when I got married, I knew I was going to buy myself a set of Circulon pots and pans. The latest, greatest seemed like the best choice.

And I was wrong.

Don't get me wrong, the cookware itself works WONDERFULLY. No sticking, pretty easy to clean... quality you would come to expect from Circulon products, or at least I have after decades of being around them and using them.

But the trouble came when I cooked some spaghetti and went to pick the pot off the stove. HANDLE WAS HOT!! I was shocked and crushed. Who on EARTH thought it would be a good idea to put metal handles on pots that get hot? I thought, surely they wouldn't have done this without figuring out a way to keep these handles from getting unbearably hot. But no.

All of the other lines (my sister has the Elite line, my mom Circulon 2, and my grandma the Classic) have the silicone handles. And I am ashamed that I did not even think of that when I bought them. Again, my assumption being that the makers of this line would not have done that without assuring that the handles would not become unsafe to touch without protection.

Of course, I am spoiled by so many other Circulon pots and pans that I have seen/used over the years. And again, the pots work great.

But I am just so sad I could not give this line 5 stars because of this one simple yet crucial issue.

Buy the Elite instead; My sister loves it (and I am jealous).

Circulon produces the best nonstick product on the market and this set is no exception.Usually with every nonstick product, the cookware should be hand washed only. This is the first set that is dishwash safe.Highly recommended.

Joie Microwave Omelet in a Pot

Joie Microwave Omelet in a PotI bought two of these in a kitchen speciality store after the staff there raved about it.I was very delighted to find it really, really works!

The kitchen store staff had some tips about how to perfect the process:1.) FIRST, put about 1 tsp. of butter in the pot with a small amount of vegies. (Wet vegies, such as tomatoes don't work as well. Green onions and peppers are great choices.)2.) Microwave your butter and vegies for about 30-40 seconds.3.) Break your two eggs in the pot, stir in salt and pepper, and add chesse...microwave for 40-50 seconds.4.) Scrape down sides and microwave again for 40-50 seconds.5.) Wait for 2 minutes to finish cooking then eat.

The omelets are nice and fluffy and ready in less than 5 minutes. The convenient size of the pot is beneficial to travelers. My son is putting it in his luggage while he Couch Surfs across the U.S.

I found these online for $7.95 and will be buying six or seven to give as future gifts.

I am not big fan of microwavable omelet in a first place; it taste a little bit rubbery.

Don't get me wrong this omelet maker is working, but it is another gadget-toy, which will take space in your kitchen and cost you about $20.00 w/shipping.

If you really, really want to make an omelet in your microwave follow the instruction:

Take ceramic or glass (microwave safe) cup or bowl cover it with a little bit of butter, add two eggs and what ever else you like, bit eggs with a fork a little bit, cover with paper towel or paper plate and microwave for 1-2 minutes and you got yourself an omelet, and you saved $20.00.

I own 4 of these and use them almost every day. We mix the ingredients the night before and place in the fridge, then I pop one in the microwave for 2 min while I take a shower. When I get out I have a nice fluffy omelet waiting. No it isn't gourmet, but it works, tastes great, is easy to clean and only uses one dish for cooking and serving. The white part is glazed ceramic and the yellow/orange is rubber. The rubber never comes in contact with your food. Since a touch of pam is used the cleaning couldn't be easier. I can barely keep eggs in the house!

I randomly bought this omelet pot in a store over the weekend. My expectations weren't terribly high, but I live in an extremely small space and have an efficiency kitchen, so one-dish/one-pot/minimal cleanup items are worth my time and attention.

This omelet pot far exceeded my expectations. It makes a light, fluffy, delicious omelet in a matter of minutes. My microwave is low-wattage, so it takes about four minutes to have a thoroughly cooked omelet, but I cannot complain at all for that.

All you have to do is pour the eggs (or egg substitute in my case) into the pot, add a bit of milk, whisk it with a fork, and drop in your ingredients and you have done all the work you have to do. Pop it in the microwave, wait for the ding, and eat straight from the pot.

It cleaned up well and I am pleased enough to consider buying a second one, since I would be very unhappy if I broke this one.

This product has totally spoiled me. I hardly use the stovetop anymore to do omelettes. My kids love the compact "english muffin" shape of the 1-egg omelette that this makes. Just 1 egg nicely whisked with a fork and a drop of olive oil. That's it. Sometimes, I add a basil leaf or some cilantro leaves.

However, I want to say that I have bought this item from Marshalls for $8 + tax. Broke the first one, and couldn't find another for 2 years ! It's a hit or miss finding things at Marshalls, so even at $16, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it on Amazon, just because the product is worth it.

Boomerang Wok by Royal VKB VP1SF .832 13-Inch Frying Wok

Boomerang Wok by Royal VKB VP1SF .832 13-Inch Frying WokThe reason for the rating is that the item I received is not the award winning Boomerang Wok as pictured. What I received is an 8 inch ceramic bowl. The label on the carton says "Boomerang Wok 13" fry pan"clearly mislabeled. This is not intended as a product review but a warning to potential buyers who may receive the item from the same mislabeled batch.I just returned the item. This is probably the fault of the person responsible for stocking the item but who needs this extra hassleduring the busy holiday period.T. Teramaye

The Boomerang Wok has been wonderful so far. Great for stir frying but also great for flipping fried eggs, cooking tortillas, etc. The pan is very high quality and also very sturdy. It is a bit heavy for its size but that is of course due the extra metal required for the shape of the pot. It comes with a black fabric bag to cover the pan which I assume is to protect it from scratches etc from other pots and pans in the cupboard. Overall, this pan is a good investment in my opinion.

We had a really good experience with Speranza Design Company. The teflon wok was on backorder, so they gave me the option to have the stainless steel wok at no extra charge. It arrived in time for the intended birthday.I haven't had a chance to use it, but my husband seemed to like it.He enjoys flipping his food, so he said it takes a little getting used to, but I think it was worth it.Beautiful looking design.

Kitchen Classics 188-548LIB 10-Inch Heavy Gauge Aluminum Non-Stick Saute PanI bought the 10" and 12" Saute pans.Nice heavy material, even cooking.Non-stick is great.I love the polished outside of the pan.The value is fantastic, I have owned pans at many times the price that are not as good.

Sandwich MakerWhile this particular product does as described, make sandwiches, the locking mechanism fell out the 3rd time I used it.Easy enough to fix, but it should not have happened at all. I'll keep it only because it was inexpensive & I can fix it.But when it comes to purchasing another, I would look for a different style.

Johnson-Rose French Style Steel Fry Pan, 15 Inch x 2-1/4 Inch

Johnson-Rose French Style Steel Fry Pan, 15 Inch x 2-1/4 InchThis arrived yesterday and I would send it back today if I hadn't thrown away the box.I used it last night to fry some scallops for company.I found that if the heat was enough to brown the scallops in the oil, then the fluid that seeped from the scallops burned and if I turned the heat down to avoid that, then the scallops wouldn't brown!!This morning I have burned on residual that won't come off despite lots of scrubing.Again, I'm learning that "you get what you paid for" i.e, $30 for a huge skillet results in junk!!

This pan is excellent! The size was perfect for fitting on a gas burner, so we could fry fish outside (no odors.)It has a nice "heft" and fries beautifully. This is highly recommended!!!

Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set

Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet SetIn a competitor's (let's say Brand X) poacher with plastic (ugh) cups, the thermal conductivity of the cups is so low that eggs effectively cook only from the top down from being directly exposed to the steam.Result:after 9 minutes of poaching (at 7300 feet), the yolk (which floats on top) and the top half of the egg white are firm; meanwhile the egg white on the bottom still quivers like jelly and is semi-transparent (ugh). And the cooking pan is quite shallow (just under one and one half inches inner measure), with the result that boiling water easily spills over on top of the poaching eggs, creating a real mess inside and out.

The stainless steel egg cups on this unit are perfectly formed and slightly flattened on the bottom with a thermal conductivity so good that eggs cook pretty equally from all sides. The pan is quite deep (just under two and three-eight inches inner measure) so that the poaching tray rides very high over the surface of the boiling water. The result is a perfectly poached egg, no messes, to whatever degree of firmness of the white one wants.Yet one can still have a soft or partially soft yolk, impossible to achieve with "Brand X" above. At an elevation of 7300 feet, poaching time using this pan for a firm white and medium (non-runny) yolk was 6 minutes; for a firm white and softer yolk, between 4 and 5 minutes.Lower elevations should adjust these times downward a minute or two.

Because of its' stainless steel composition, depth and diameter, the pan can also be used for other cooking.Indeed, this reviewer dares to suggest that despite its higher price, this unit is almost a mandatory addition to any good cook's staple of cooking utensils.Because of bad past experiences with the kind of riveted handle attachment to the pan used here, which breaks off too easily, this reviewer docks this unit one-half star.Aside from that, the design and materials of this product are generous indeed; it's appearance is so attractive that this reviewer left it sitting on top of the range as general décor. The only other gripe is with the shipping expense which was one-fourth of the total cost. But in all fairness the heavy-duty packaging did protect the glass lid and unit as a whole.

If you are looking for a great egg poacher, buy this model!

Through the years we had an electric teflon coated egg poacher that cooked the eggs well except we did not like the fact that we were scraping off the teflon surface each time we tried to clean the egg cups out.We did not want to be ingesting the teflon anymore. We found this Stainless Steel egg poacher and just love it and it is actually easier to clean. One just needs to set a timer for 5 minutes and is able to get perfectly poached eggs.

I won't comment on anything else other than how to avoid having the eggs stick in the cups, which many people complain about with poachers in general. The first few times I used the poacher, I sprayed oil into the cups then put in the eggs and started the cooking. But once they were cooked, the eggs stuck like crazy in the cups.I had to scoop them out with a spoon, which wasn't so bad, but the egg remnants were impossible to get out of the cups. Here's the trick don't just spray oil into the cups.Fill the cup with oil (I use olive oil), slosh it around, then pour the oil out.The easy way is to pour it from one cup to the next and so on until you've oiled all the cups. Then pour the remaining oil back into the oil container.Put the eggs in and cook them and they'll drop right out of the cup with no stickage at all. That's it.Do this and you'll be happy with poaching.Use an oil sprayer and you'll make a mess every time.Hear me now and believe me later.

On the strength of the above review, hesitating only because there were no others, I bought the product.I can now corroborate the conlusions there stated.

I gave five stars because I doubt that the handle would cause a problem in ordinary use.Mine was not riveted but seems to be spot welded (securely).

Want Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set Discount?

If you are looking for a good egg poacher look no further, this is it. Why buy yet another electric appliance to take up valuable cabinet space? This poaches eggs beautifully and can also double as a skillet all on the cooker you already have. It only takes 5 mintues to poach an egg with a soft yoke, 7 for a firmer yoke. I use this several times a week for breakfast. If I were to complain about anything it would be the little handles of the cups, they do get hot, otherwise one can't go wrong with this poacher set.

Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Omelette Pan

Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Omelette Pan(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)Until recently, the only Calphalon pots I owned were a couple of lidded saucepans that I could take from stovetop and put directly into the oven for specialized recipes.Honestly, I wasn't thrilled with Calphalon, primarily because it wasn't completely non-stick AND it couldn't be washed in the dishwasher.Clean-up was sometimes a chore, especially since my recipes resulted in baked on food.I relied heavily on my Farberware for general cooking and my nonstick griddle and saute pans for quick cooking and low fat dishes. However, things changed in my household when we acquired a parakeet.Since birds can die from the fumes given off by nonstick coated surfaces (makes you wonder about what it does to us, doesn't it?), I needed good pans that could substitute for the nonstick pans I had to get rid of.Calphalon, once the brand I shunned, became my darling.

I bought this over-sized omelette pan primarily to cook pancakes and for sauteeing large amounts. I have cooked some of the fluffiest pancakes in my life in this pan, which tells me it would be EXCELLENT for omelettes.By lightly coating the pan with butter prior to cooking, the surface is nearly nonstick I sometimes have slight trouble near the sloping sides, nothing that a spatula can't fix. (NOTE:The manufacturer warns against using cooking sprays such as Pam because they will damage the surface.I find that a quick wipe of oil or butter with a paper towel does a great job of minimizing fat.) Because this pan heats quickly and easily, cooking with it is a snap.

The hard-anodized surface is part of the pan, not sprayed on, so metal utensils can be used.Although I've never had a problem with the handles getting hot (I use this pan mostly for quick cooking), I'm careful to test the handle before I grab it.Households with small children should take care when cooking on the front burner. Not only can the handle heat up, but the pan itself is very heavy. Likewise, adults without full strength might find this brand difficult to use. While not nearly as heavy as cast iron, hard-anodized pots and pans are much more substantial than run-of-the-mill kinds. For me, the weight is an asset due to the better heat distribution and retention, and the lower risk of burning.

Calphalon hard-anodized pans are the best of the brand, even for those who can use the company's nonstick lines. They are heavy, durable, even-heating, and come the closest to nonstick that all-metal pans can come. Not just for omelettes, this large, slope-sided pan can be used for a variety of dishes including stir-fry, grilled sandwiches, and quick pasta sauces. This is a must-have for serious cooks and for those with an aversion to nonstick surfaces.Others will have to carefully weigh the advantages and disadvantages to decide if this pan (and this brand) is right for them.

The Calphalon Commerical Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Omelet/Frying Pan is a very good pan to add to your collection. Even though I have come to prefer using my 12-Inch Calphalon Commerical Nonstick (not Professional Nonstick pan, which I do not like) for making omelets and other egg dishes, I do like the regular Commercial Hard-Anodized Calphalon pans for any cooking that I want to do at either higher temperatures or for which I want to make reductions or other sauces. This pan is virtually nonstick as well, and you will be pleased at how easy it is to use and to clean. Hand-washing is recommended. Any staining is easily removed with some Bon Ami or Dormond cleaner.

Calphalon has re-designed the handles for this line of pans, and they are truly cooler to the touch, so you don't have to use the suede pothandler or the rubber cool-grips any longer. Also this design is more elegant, and you will like hanging them from a pot rack in your kitchen.

This pan is great for a number of reasons. One, it will last forever, this is the type of pan you can pass on to your grandkids. Two, its heavy weight really helps to keep the temperature even and consistent throughout your cooking. (this is a huge plus for pancakes) Three, it is wide and flat enough to give you some room to work. One of the most frustrating experiences is trying to make eggs over easy on a small fry-pan. You need room to work, and this pan provides it. Last, this pan is semi-nonstick without the hassle of non-stick pans. Granted, it is not completely non-stick, especially with sweat sauces etc.. But it is much better then say stainless steal.

The only drawback to this pan is the heavy weight, which is also one of the positives. If you don¡¯t have the muscle, you better leave this pan on the stovetop, as trying to flip anything with this pan would really give you a good workout.

Conclusion: Buy it, and through out your lightweight, wimpy, non-heat controlled pans. This pan does it all.

T-fal Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, Silver

T-fal C8110764 Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, SilverI bought this from Wal-Mart and absolutely love it. A common complaint that I've run into is that foods "stick" more than their other pans. This actually IS true if you do not adjust your cooking method. A little bit of oil olive goes a long way, and TURN DOWN THE HEAT!

If you cook something at maximum heat, you WILL have issues. Turn down the heat, this requires less heat than other pans I've used, which is good because it is using less energy to cook in the same amount of time.

It's very sturdy, cleans easily and is just a real pleasure to look at and cook with! Highly recommended.

Bought this pan hoping it would live up to its description. It didn't!The steel is quite thin.No matter what I cook in it, using moderate amounts of oil, the food sticks and clean up is impossible.I have other stainless steel pans which work beautifully conduct heat well, food doesn't stick and clean up is a breeze, (no they're not All-Clad and I didn't pay a fortune).Although I've had T-Fal products which are quite good this is definitely not one of them.Do not buy this pot!

Although I think this is a very sturdy pan, I have to agree with the first two reviewers that it has a "sticking" problem. It makes no sense to me, I thought stainless steel is stainless steel.

The only solution I have found is that it must be seasoned before using. I do this by by coating the inside with oil, and heating it at a low temperature (just below the smoking point of the oil) for about half an hour. Then, it becomes a nice fry pan.

Or, if you use it daily, wipe yesterday's oil out with a paper towel and rinse under the tap, then heat it, and then the cooking surface is much friendlier than if you had scoured it.

This sticking problem makes it as finicky as a cast iron skillet, but it is friendly if you treat it right.

I bought this pan because I got rid of my non-stick one. When I first used it, I thought oh my what have I done, the eggs stuck and it was a mess.I then decided I would treat it like a chief's pan.I wash it only with hot water and afterwards I smear a drop or two of oil into the pan and put it away.I preheat the the pan before putting food in it and never use heat higher than medium high, I can now fry an egg with a loose yolk and get it out of the pan easily. It's been about two months since I bought it and its working fine.In a years time it should be wonderful.

I was looking to replace my old non-stick skillet that I used primarily for cooking eggs. The old one had lost its non-stick coating. When I saw this one recommended on America's Test Kitchen over all the other contenders, most of which cost quite a bit more, I bought it. I don't regret buying it. The non-stick works very well and, while not thick as many I have used, it heats evenly without hot spots. I will soon buy another one.

Corning Amber Vision Visions 10" Skillet

Corning Amber Vision Visions 10' SkilletI prefer a non-toxic pan for cooking which is why I purchased this glass cookware.

For cooking vegetables and items that don't stick really badly, the Visionware has been great. I use this particular pan mainly to sautee or steam vegetables and to fry bacon.

It cleans up nicely when you soak it and scrub it out with a plastic scrubber. I then place it in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.

I have used Visionware for about 22 years, including this frying pan.

The frying pan has never failed or exploded on me.

However, there have been some complaints about exploding Visionware (Google is your friend).

Some incidents can be attributed to thermal shock such as running cool water in a hot pot, or placing the hot item on a cool surface, or putting the cookware on a heat source with no water in it.

Also, if you have chipped, cracked, or scratched cookware, it is recommended that you discard it.

I would recommend carefully checking your cookware and discarding it if it is damaged.

You will want to avoid scratching it with metal utensils.

I have several of these pans because I tend to batch cook.

Corning no longer manufactures this product.

Cuisinox 14.5 x 11 x 2.5 Inch Rectangular Roaster

Cuisinox 14.5 x 11 x 2.5 Inch Rectangular RoasterThis pan is made of fairly heavy gauge stainless steel, so it bends very little when hot. It's pretty big and deep to hold it's contents and resulting juices. It has convenient handles and a nice edge all around to tuck an aluminum foil covering.I prefer enamel pans for cooking and ease of cleaning, but this is an excellent value. It did come with one of those nuisance stickers on the bottom of the pan. You'll have to soak it in hot water or scrub it off with citrasolv or alcohol.

I am very disappointed in the size of this pan.It is not nearly the size that was stated.I wanted a pan bigger than a regular 9x13 for lasagna but this pan was not any bigger.I will still use this pan for baking in but not for what I wanted it for.I think it is cheaply made.I would not recommend this one at all.

I had exactly the same experience as Jamadan above. Non-stick just did not hold up. To quote:

"It didn't last but 3 months before losing it's non-stick surface. And we're very careful about not allowing it to get hot and we don't use anything that scratches it. It just plain stops being non-stick and won't even wash off cleanly. I have to classify this one as a worst-buy avoid at all costs."
